TAKATA RECALL - RECEIVED MY NOTICE IN MARCH REGARDING THE AIRBAG RECALL. TO DATE I HEAR NOTHING BUT "WE ARE WORKING ON IT". I WAS T-BONED SEVERAL MONTHS AGO AND WAS TERRIFIED MY AIRBAG WOULD DEPLOY AND I AM CONSTANTLY CONCERNED FOR MY SAFETY WHEN DRIVING MY CAR AND BMW SEEMS TO CARE LESS. *TR
ENGINE IS HEATING UP AND COOLANT PUMP STAYS ON TO KEEP ENGINE FROM OVERHEATING. VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION WHEN PROBLEM STARTED. WHEN VEHICLE IS DRIVEN OVER 70MPH COOLANT PUMP COMES ON AND STAYS ON.

I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR REPLACEMENT OF AIRBAG FOR CLOSE TO 1 YEAR AND NO RESPONSE FROM VALENCIA BMW. I HAVE BEEN LIMITING MY USE OF MY CAR DUE TO UNSAFE AIRBAG.

TAKATA RECALL: MY VEHICLE HAS A DANGEROUS RECALL AND I'VE CALLED BMW CORP AND BMW OF FT MYERS, FL NUMEROUS TIMES FOR ABOUT 1 YEAR NOW. BMW DOES NOTHING TO RESOLVE THIS RECALL. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING MY CAR. I WANT THIS RESOLVED. BMW WILL NOT HELP ME RESOLVE THIS. THEY SAY THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. CAN YOU PLEASE HELP? I'M SCARED TO DRIVE MY CAR.

TAKATA RECALL -- I JUST CALLED BMW FOR OPTIONS REGARDING GETTING MY CAR REPAIRED AND ALSO REQUESTED TO BE LET OUT OF MY LEASE. THEY SAID THEY DO NOT YET HAVE PARTS FOR REPAIR, MY CAR HAS BEEN MARKED 'UNSELLABLE' AND THE ONLY END OF LEASE OPTION THEY GAVE WAS FOR ME TO PAY IT OFF. I AM FURIOUS. I REFUSE TO DRIVE AN UNSAFE CAR FOR THE NEXT THREE MONTHS AND I ABSOLUTELY SHOULD NOT BE REQUIRED TO PAY OFF THE LEASE ON THIS CAR. THEY NEED TO TAKE IT BACK AND LET ME MOVE ON. I HAVE TWO SMALL CHILDREN THAT I DRIVE AROUND IN THIS CAR EVERY DAY!!! THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE.
TAKATA RECALL :I WAS TOLD IT COULD TAKE UP TO A YEAR TO REPLACE THE DEFECT IN MY DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG. I AM NOT COMFORTABLE DRIVING MY CAR KNOWING THERE IS A RISK OF SERIOUS DAMAGE OR DEATH IF THE BAG DEPLOYS. I TAKE XARELTO (BLOOD THINNER) AND PURCHASED THIS SUV TO FEEL SAFER WHEN DRIVING. I AM A REALTOR AND USE MY CAR EVERYDAY AND OFTEN TIMES WITH CLIENTS OF MINE IN THE CAR. THE DEALERSHIP STATED THEY ARE NOT SELLING ANYMORE OF THESE CARS WITH THE DEFECTS UNTIL THEY ARE CORRECTED YET I AM DRIVING ONE WHICH HAS NOT BEEN CORRECTED. THEY STATED THEY WILL GIVE ME A $35 A DAY ALLOWANCE TO RENT BUT AGAIN THAT WILL ONLY GET ME A COMPACT CAR AND NOTHING CLOSE TO A COMPARABLE. WHY AM I SPENDING $1009 A MONTH FOR MY X5 TO DIVE A FORD FOCUS. IT MAKES NO SENSE. I WOULD LIKE A REMEDY TO MY SITUATION IMMEDIATELY. THIS ISSUE IS/WILL IMPACT MY BUSINESS IF I CAN NOT DRIVE MY CAR. IF I DON'T GET A RESOLUTION I WILL GET MY ATTORNEY INVOLVED.
IT HAS BEEN 1 YEAR SINCE BMW NOTIFIED ME OF TAKATA RECALL ON MY CAR AND THE PROBLEM IS STILL UNRESOLVED, NO COMMUNICATIONS SINCE, I HAVE CALLED SERVICE DEPT. SEVERAL TIMES AND ALL I GET IS "WE'LL CALL YOU WHEN THE PARTS ARE AVAILABLE."

TAKATA RECALL & FRONT DRIVESHAFT RECALL RECALLS WERE ISSUED, BUT REPAIR WORK NEVER DONE. IT BECAME A PATTERN THAT MANUFACTURER JUST PUBLISHED RECALLS TO MEET THE GOVERNMENT REQUIREMENT BUT NOT REALLY OFFER ACTUAL WORK TO RESOLVE THE SAFETY ISSUES.

THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD BE REPAIRED FOR SEVERAL MONTH AFTER CALLING. AFTER STARTING THE CAR, PUTTING THE CAR IN DRIVE, INITIATING A THREE POINT TURN, AFTER THE FIRST PART OF THE TURN WHEN THE ACCELERATOR IS RELEASED THE CAR WILL JERK, ACCELERATE, LUNGE FORWARD. I WAS ABLE TO GET MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE TO PREVENT ADDITIONAL FORWARD MOTION. THE REVS RHYTHMICALLY SURGED UP AND DOWN BETWEEN 2500RPMS AND IDLE. THE WHOLE TIME THE VEHICLE WAS TRYING TO DRIVE FORWARD. THEN AFTER A FEW SECONDS THE VEHICLE STALLED. WE'VE TAKEN THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP THREE TIMES TO GET THIS FIXED BUT THEY CAN FIND NO FAULT WITH THE CAR. THIS HAPPENS BETWEEN ONCE TO FOUR TIMES PER MONTH. THE CAR HAS ALMOST DRIVEN OFF THE ROAD ON ITS OWN AND CAME CLOSE TO HITTING A PARKED CAR. WE'VE BEEN LUCKY TO GET OUR FOOT ON THE BRAKE BEFORE THAT'S HAPPENED. THE DEALERSHIP SAYS WE SHOULD TAKE THE CAR BACK AS IT'S FINE.
AFTER A CONCERT, I DROVE MY X5 OUT OFF A PARKING LOT WITH MY WIFE. I COULD FEEL A LITTLE BIT ABOUT SOMETHING UNCOMMON ON THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR, BUT DID NOT PAY MUCH ATTENTION BECAUSE THERE IS NO SIGN ON INDICATOR BOARD SHOWING THE DOORS DID NOT CLOSED. AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, I TURNED TO RIGHT, AND DIVER DOOR OPENED SUDDENLY. I HAVE TO SLOW DOWN, AND TRIED TO CLOSE THE DOOR WHILE DRIVING, BUT THE DOOR COULD NOT BE CLOSED. THE DOOR LOCK DID NOT WORK. I PARKED THE CAR AT A SHOPPING CENTER PARKING LOT, AND REALIZED THAT I COULD NOT OPEN OR CLOSE THE DOOR LOCK AFTER TRYING DIFFERENT WAYS. I HAD TO DRIVE TO HOME USING ONE HAND HOLDING THE DOOR AND THE OTHER HAND DRIVING. IT WAS VERY DANGEROUS. DO NOT KNOW WHAT HAPPENED, IT IS 2013 MODEL, ONLY ONE AND HALF YEAR SUV.
NO ACCIDENT, JUST A SAFETY ISSUE WITH ACCELERATION DELAY. TOTAL LACK OF ACCELERATION AT A STOP TO GO. THERE IS AN INHERENT LAG UNTIL THE TRANSMISSION KICKS IN AND GOES, ABOUT A HALF SECOND DELAY. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY NOT GOOD WHEN TRYING TO GET INTO BUSY TRAFFIC WHETHER AT A LIGHT OR MERGING. I HAVE TALKED TO BMW TAMPA AND RAN A DIAGNOSTIC WITHOUT SUCCESS FOR A FIX. ON THE 1ST OCCASION , A 2 Y/O CHILD HAD JUST BEEN STRAPPED INTO HIS CAR SEAT , A PURSE WITH THE KEY INSIDE THE PURSE , WAS PLACED ON THE FLOOR BEHIND THE DRIVER'S SEAT , THE REAR DOOR WAS CLOSED & ALL LOCKS WERE ACTIVATED . THIS OCCURRED IN THE HEAT OF SUMMER & REQUIRED ANOTHER DRIVER WITH A SPARE FOB TO QUICKLY DRIVE TO THE SITE OF THE PARKED CAR & AVOID HAVING TO BREAK A WINDOW . THIS WAS A VERY SCARY MOMENT ! SAME THING HAPPENED ( NO CHILD IN CAR ) ; ALL DOORS LOCKED WHEN A BRIEFCASE CONTAINING BOTH KEY FOBS WAS PLACED ON BACK SEAT & REAR DOOR WAS CLOSED . A CALL TO BMW HOT LINE RESULTED IN THE DOORS BEING UNLOCKED VIA THE AIRWAYS .THE SAME INCIDENT OCCURED THIS WEEK WITH ONLY ONE KEY FOB IN THE CAR . I WAS COMING DOWN LAKEMONT BLVD (SLOPING DOWNWARDS) AT ABOUT 5 PM AND WHEN I WAS NEARING THE TRAFFIC LIGHT AT THE INTERSECTION WITH SE NEWPORT WAY, I STARTED SLOWING DOWN AS I COULD SEE THE LIGHT WAS RED. I PUSHED DOWN ON THE PEDAL BUT THE BRAKE WAS NOT FULLY RESPONSIVE. IT WOULD SLOW DOWN AND SEEM TO BE STOPPING, BUT KEEP GOING. I WAS FEELING A BIT OUT OF CONTROL AND TRIED TO STEER AWAY FROM THE CAR THAT WAS STOPPED AT THE TRAFFIC LIGHT AND JUST FOR A MOMENT IT SEEMED LIKE THE BRAKE HAD APPLIED AND THE CAR ALMOST STOPPED BUT IT KEPT GOING UNTIL IT CRASHED THE BACK LEFT BUMPER OF THE CAR IN FRONT OF US. MY DAUGHTER WAS SITTING NEXT TO ME AND SHE KEPT SAYING 'O MY GOD, O MY GOD' AND I KEPT SAYING TO HER THAT ' THE BRAKE JUST ISN'T TAKING'. I WAS FULLY ALERT BECAUSE I HAD SLOWED THE CAR DOWN ALL THE WAY DOWN THE HILL AND WAS ABLE TO STEER IT JUST BEFORE A FULL-ON IMPACT, BUT COULDN'T PULL AWAY COMPLETELY. THIS HAS HAPPENED A COUPLE OF TIMES IN THE PAST WITH ONE INCIDENT COMING CLEARLY TO MIND. WE WERE IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD AND COMING DOWN PARK DR, WHICH IS A SIMILAR INCLINED DOWNHILL ROAD AND WHEN I WAS ABOUT TO REACH THE INTERSECTION WITH 15TH AVE NE, I STARTED TO BRAKE BUT THE BRAKES RESPONDED VERY SLUGGISHLY - WHERE IT SEEMED TO STOP, BUT THEN KEEP GOING AT LEAST A COUPLE OF TIMES, WITH THE CAR EVENTUALLY STOPPING ALMOST IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION. IT WAS THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY AND BEING A SUBURBAN NEIGHBORHOOD, THERE WAS NO TRAFFIC AND WE WERE SAFE. THIS PAST WINTER I TOOK MY BMW IN TWICE (MAR 28, 2014 AND APR 22, 2014) BECAUSE A CLICKING NOISE I HEAR WHEN DRIVING AND IT WAS ASSUMED THAT THE NOISE WAS RELATED TO LOW TEMP OUTSIDE. ON MAY 23, 2014 I NOTICE THE CLICKING NOISE AGAIN. I CURRENTLY HAVE 2548 MILES ON MY CAR. THE ANCHORAGE BMW COULD NOT FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS CAUSING THE NOISE. THEY WERE UNABLE TO REPRODUCE THE NOISE. WHEN HAPPEN AGAIN IN APRIL I RECORDED THE NOISE ON MY CELL PHONE AND WAS TOLD THAT DEALER'S SERVICE DEPT WOULD STILL NEED TO REPRODUCE THE NOISE. I CALLED THE SERVICE DEPT ON MAY 23, TO LET THEM KNOW I WAS HAVE THE PROBLEM AGAIN. THUS FAR I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A RETURN PHONE CALL. I STILL HAVE NO CLUE WHAT WOULD BE CAUSING A NEW CAR TO MAKE CLICKING NOISE. *TR
