TWICE WITHIN A MONTH, WHILE TRAVELING AT 70MPH, MY VEHICLE SUDDENLY AND QUICKLY SLOWED TO APPROX 20MPH ALL ON ITS OWN, WITH TRACTION CONTROL AND ENGINE WARNING LIGHTS TURNING ON. VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AND STAYED AT 20 MPH. ABILITY TO STEER AND BRAKE WAS HAMPERED, BUT ON BOTH OCCASIONS I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO BE ABLE TO EASE OVER TO THE SHOULDER WITHOUT BEING HIT OR HITTING ANYONE ELSE. BOTH TIMES THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR, BUT BECAUSE THE DEALER COULD NOT RECREATE THE PROBLEM, THE ONLY REMEDY DONE WAS TO CLEAN THE CONNECTIONS TO THE TRACTION CONTROL MODULE. IT IS SHEER LUCK THAT NO ONE WAS HIT OR INJURED. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR CAMERA AND SENSOR FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE MODULE FOR THE BACK UP CAMERA FAILED. THE DEALER CALLED THE MANUFACTURER WHO STATED THAT THE PART FOR REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE AND THEY WERE UNSURE OF WHEN IT WOULD AVAILABLE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 39,000. I OWN A 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE WITH A FACTORY INSTALLED SUNROOF. I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS FOR EXCESSIVE LEAKS IN FROM THE SUNROOF. THE WATER COLLECTS ABOVE THE HEADLINER AND WHEN THE VEHICLE IS MOVED, CAN DRAIN DOWN ONTO THE DRIVER CAUSING A REACTION TO THE UNEXPECTED EVENT. IN ADDITION, I HAVE HAD WATER LEAKING FROM THE LIGHT FIXTURES BOTH OVER THE CENTER CONSOLE AND FROM THE REAR SEAT ROOF LIGHT. IN LOOKING AT THE ENCLAVE OWNERS WEBSITE, THIS APPEARS TO BE A HIGHLY COMMON ISSUE WITH THE 2008 ENCLAVE. I WAS ADVISED THE LAST TIME BY THE DEALER THEIR IS A DESIGN FLAW WITH THE A PILLAR THAT CAUSES IT TO CLOG AND NOT DRAIN PROPERLY. THIS IS NOT ONLY AN INCONVENIENCE, BUT ALSO A POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD WITH WATER LEAKING INTO ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS IN THE ROOF, CONSOLE, AND DASHBOARD. BUICK HAS NOT ACCEPTED RESPONSIBILITY OR ACKNOWLEDGED THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE DRAIN CONDITION. VEHICLE HAS BEEN BACK TO THE DEALER AT LEAST 3 TIMES WITHOUT RESOLUTION. *TR
2008 BUICK ENCLAVE WATER PUMP FAILURE. 48000 MILES ON VEHICLE. DRIVING HOME ON FREEWAY AT NIGHT LOOKED DOWN AT TEMP GAUGE AND SAW IT WAS ON RED. SMOKE WAS COMING OUT OF THE BACK OF THE CAR AS WELL AS THE HOOD AREA. I WAS AFRAID TO PULL OVER ON THE FREEWAY SINCE I WAS IN DEAD CELL PHONE ZONE AND AM FEMALE. I WAS AN EXIT FROM HOME SO I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT HOME. AS I APPROACHED MY DRIVE WAY THE "CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT FINALLY CAME ON AS WELL AS "CHANGE OIL SOON" INFO FLASHED ON THE DISPLAY, BY THIS TIME CAR WAS SMOKING FROM UNDER THE HOOD AS WELL AS THE UNDER THE CAR. CALLED TOW COMPANY NEXT MORNING TO TOW TO NEAREST GM DEALER. WAITED TO HEAR FROM THEM ALL DAY AND NOTHING FINALLY CLOSE TO 5 PM THE REP CALLED AND SAID I WOULD GET A RENTAL ON GM OVERNIGHT UNTIL THEY CAN LOOK AT IT. NEXT DAY I WAS TOLD WATER PUMP FAILED. SECTION 5 PAGE 27 OF OWNERS MANUAL SAID MOTOR OIL WOULD NEED TO BE CHANGED AFTER OPERATING IN OVERHEATED VEHICLE ENGINE PROTECTION MODE, ASKED DEALER IF THEY WOULD BE CHANGING THE OIL SINCE IT WAS WATER PUMP FAILURE THAT CAUSED OIL TO BREAKDOWN AND THEY SAID I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR IT. THIS IS NO OK GM SHOULD CHANGE THE OIL AS WELL AS FILTER INCLUDED IN WARRANTY REPAIR. THE WATER PUMP FAILURE LEAD TO HAVING TO RUN IN OVERHEATED ENGINE PROTECTION MODE IN THE FIRST PLACE. LOCAL DEALER JUST RETURNED MY CALL IN TO SUPERVISOR. THEY ARE NOW WILLING TO CHANGE THE OIL AND FILTER ON THEM. WATER PUMP SHOULD NOT GO OUT IN A 2 YEAR OLD VEHICLE! PLEASE HELP PROTECT CONSUMERS. I WANTED TO BUY AMERICAN BUT THIS IS THE 5TH TIME ENCLAVE HAS BEEN TOWED TO THE DEALER. ONE TIME IS BAD ENOUGH BUT 5 NOT ACCEPTABLE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A WATER LEAK IN THE FRONT AND REAR ENDS OF THE VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WAS DAMAGED. BOTH THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED, BUT DENIED ASSISTANCE WITH REPAIRS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 12,770.
MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP X 1 FOR A LEAK IN THE SUNROOF. I AM NOW ON MY SECOND ATTEMPT TO GET THE VEHICLE REPAIRED. ON THE PREVIOUS LEAK WATER COULD BE HEARD IN THE DASH WHILE TURNING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY, THE LOCATION OF THE LEAK AT THAT TIME WAS NEAR THE PASSENGER SIDE A POST. THIS CURRENT LEAK IS ALSO ON THE SAME POST BUT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. THIS TIME I HAD MY BRAKE LIGHT FLASHING ON AND OFF WITH MY PARKING ASSIST LAMPS. AN AUDIBLE CHIME COULD ALSO BE HEARD. THEIR IS AN OBVIOUS HISTORY OF PROBLEMS WITH THIS SPECIFIC BODY FROM ALL OF THE RESEARCH I HAVE FOUND ONLINE. I AM CONCERNED FOR THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF MY FAMILY AS WE DRIVE IN A CAR THAT MAY HAVE MOLD AND THE POSSIBILITY OF ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO STALL OUT OR CATCH FIRE. GRINDING NOISE WHEN TURNING STEERING WHEEL *KB
VEHICLE WAS MAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN INTO A PARKING LOT AT APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL JERKED TO THE RIGHT. THE RESULTING JERKING MOVEMENT/FEEDBACK RESULTED IN THE OPERATOR UNDER STEERING THE VEHICLE AND STRIKING A LARGE BOULDER ON THE SHOULDER OF THE PARKING LOT ENTRANCE. THE VEHICLE SUSTAINED MODERATE DAMAGE TO THE BUMPER, SKIRTING AND RIGHT FRONT FENDER. THIS VEHICLE HAD IT'S POWER STEERING RACK REPLACED LESS THAN 12 MONTHS PRIOR FOR THE SAME PERFORMANCE ISSUE. IN THE SUMMER OF 2010 GM REDESIGNED THE POWER STEERING RACKS FOR ALL LAMBDA PLATFORM VEHICLES (BUICK ENCLAVE, GMC ACADIA, SATURN OUTLOOK, AND CHEVY TRAVERSE) PRESUMABLY AS A RESULT OF COMPLAINTS LODGED BY CUSTOMERS DIRECTLY THROUGH DEALERS OR GENERAL MOTORS.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE CXL (NA). BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEAT BELTS BECAME FRAIL ON THE SIDE. THE RETAINER THAT HELD THE SEAT BELT CUT THE SEAT BELT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO STATED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG AND WOULD NOT REPLACE IT. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 54,000.
THIS IS AN UPDATE TO COMPLAINT 10280929 FOR A 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE AWD AFTER FUEL EFFICIENCY REACHING AN ALL-TIME HIGH OF 17MPG COMBINE HWY&CITY, WITHIN WEEKS IT BEGAN DROPPING AND SETTLED BETWEEN 14-15 MPG. WATER LEAKS THAT BEGAN DUMPING CUP FULL OF WATER ON OCCUPANTS LAST YEAR FIXED. MORE DEFINITE HESITATION BETWEEN GEARS CONTINUES, AS WELL AS MOMENTARY LAPSES IN POWER RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PEDAL AND ENGINE. LAST MONTH A WHIRRING SOUND STARTED THAT WAS ASSOCIATED WITH TURNING THE CAR. THE SOUND WOULD RISE DURING ACCELERATION AND FALL DURING DE-ACCELERATION. BREAK JOB TOOK CARE OF IT (ALTHOUGH I DOUBTED THE DEALER'S ASSESSMENT) UNTIL YESTERDAY. THE WHIRRING HAS RETURNED, ALBEIT INTERMITTENTLY. AFTER 3 YRS I KNOW THAT IF A PROBLEM CAN'T BE REPLICATED ON TEST DRIVE OR SHOW UP AS CODES ON A COMPUTER--THE DEALERSHIPS (AND I HAVE BEEN TO 3 OVER THE YEARS) WILL DO NOTHING. MY SOLUTION IS TO TURN THIS PRETTY LOOKING CAR IN (3 WEEKS!) AND TURN MY BACK ON ALL GM CARS AFTER 30+ YEARS OF DRIVING ALL SORTS OF THEM. *TR
THE FIRST PROBLEM THAT OCCURRED WAS THE ENGINE OVERHEATED AND THE WATER PUMP HAD TO BE REPLACED. CAR WAS ONLY 3 YEARS OLD WITH 20,140 MILES ON IT. SINCE THEN THE MAIN PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN WITH THE SUNROOF LEAKING. THIS CAUSED THE BLOWER MOTOR TO FAIL. THE WATER LEAKS HAVE HAPPENED AT LEAST 4 TIMES. THE DRAINS KEEP CLOGGING. THERE IS NO FIX FOR THIS ACCORDING TO THE DEALER. NOT ACCEPTABLE! THEY TOLD ME NOT TO PARK UNDER TREES. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I'VE HAD SUNROOFS BEFORE AND NEVER HAD A PROBLEM. THE RECALL FOR THE DRAIN EXTENSIONS DID NOTHING. EVENTUALLY THERE WILL BE OTHER PROBLEMS. WHO KNOWS WHAT ELSE IS GETTING WET WHERE I CAN'T SEE IT. MOLD IS INEVITABLE. I HAVE 3 KIDS AND THIS IS RIDICULOUS. I DIDN'T SPEND ALL THIS MONEY FOR A PIECE OF JUNK! I WILL NEVER BUY GM AGAIN IF THEY DON'T DO SOMETHING. *KB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED APPROXIMATELY 25-40 TIMES. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION WHERE THEY ADVISED THAT THE STEERING PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000. THE CONSUMER STATED HE HEARD A CLICKING NOISE WHENEVER HE TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL. THE DEALER REPLACED THE POWER STEERING PUMP, POWER STEERING GEAR, STEERING COLUMN . THE CONSUMER STATED HE WOULD LOOSE POWER STEERING ASSIST WHEN DRIVING AND THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD LOCK UP. , THERE WAS EXCESSIVE PLAY IN THE STEERING. THE CONSUMER HIT A PILLAR, WHEN THE STEERING LOCKED UP, AND CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER REPLACED SEVERAL COMPONENTS WITHIN THE STEERING SEVERAL TIMES. THE KEY WOULD GET STUCK IN THE IGNITION. UPDATED 01/28/13
FIXED REAR GLASS SKYLIGHT ON A 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE LEAKED WATER CAUSING MANY ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS TO SHORT OUT AND FAIL. *TR
2008 BUICK ENCLAVE WITH WATER LEAKS FRONT, MID AND REAR OF VEHICLE. SERVICE DEPT HAS ADMITTED GM DESIGN FLAW IN SUNROOF WHICH IS DESIGNED TO LEAK. WATER IS SUPPOSED TO DRAIN THRU TINY DRAIN TUBES WHICH BECOME CLOGGED WITH DEBRIS. ENCLAVE BACK IN SHOP FOR 5TH TIME; 3RD TIME IN 1 MTH. *TR
JUST BOUGHT MY 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE USED WITH 30,000MILE ON IT LAST MONTH. SINCE THAT TIME I HAVE EXPERIENCED SEVERAL DEAD BATTERIES AFTER DRIVING THE CAR MOST OF THE DAY. I HAD TURNED OFF THE RADIO, AIR CONDITIONING AND UN PLUGGED ANY ADAPTER IN THE OUTLETS AS PRECAUTIONS AFTER THE FIRST EPISODE BUT THE PROBLEM CONTINUES. I BROWSED SEVERAL FORUMS THAT SUGGEST THIS IS A WIDE SPREAD PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR AS WELL AS THE GMC ACADIA. SOMEONE EVEN SAID THAT GMC HAD A RECALL FOR THE ACADIA THAT SOLVED THE PROBLEM, CURIOUS TO KNOW WHAT THAT WAS. VERY FRUSTRATED THAT MY $35,000 CAR HAS MORE PROBLEMS THAN MY 2003 VAN DID UPON SELLING IT!!! ANYONE KNOW WHAT THE END PROBLEM WAS WITH THE ACADIA WAS SO THAT I COULD GUIDE MY DEALER IN RESOLVING THE ISSUE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTICE OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 10V240000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE RECALL WAS FOR THE HEATED WINDSHIELD WIPER FLUID. THE CONTACT WAS DISSATISFIED THAT A FEATURE HE ASSUMED HE WOULD BE ABLE TO USE WAS BEING DISCONNECTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS REIMBURSING THE CONSUMERS OF THE VEHICLES AFFECTED BY THE RECALL BUT THE CONTACT DID NOT BELIEVE THE REIMBURSEMENT TO BE FAIR. A FAILURE DID NOT OCCUR. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 39,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO THE TRANSMISSION CLUTCH PACK. THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING REPAIRS TO THE VEHICLE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 40,000.
TL*THE CONTACTS OWNS A 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR THE HEATED WASHER FLUID. THE CONTACTS PRIMARY CONCERN WAS THAT THE DEALER WOULD NOT REPAIR OR REPLACE THE PARTS BUT THEY WERE WILLING TO DISCONNECT IT. THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THEY WOULD GIVE HIM $100 IF HE DID NOT REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THEY ALSO STATED THAT THEY HAVE NOT BEEN GIVEN PERMISSION FROM THE MANUFACTURER TO REPAIR THE PART. WITHIN THE LAST FOUR MONTHS, I HAVE NOTICED A VIBRATING NOISE AS PART OF MY STEERING. MY MAJOR COMPLAINT IS A VERY LOUD SHARP WHISTLING NOISE COMING FROM MY ENGINE AFTER DRIVING IT FOR A SHORT TIME. THE SCREECHING, WHISTLING CONTINUES WHILE IT IS IDLING FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME. I AM CONCERNED OF WHAT IT IS AND ALSO FIND IT NOT ACCEPTABLE TO HAVE TO PUT UP WITH THE NOISE CONSTANTLY, ESPECIALLY BEING ONLY 2 YRS. 4 MO. OLD AND LESS THAT 25,000 MILES. OBVIOUSLY IT IS A DEFECT BY GM AND THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR FIXING IT ASAP AS I'M NOT SURE IF THE NOISE IS ALL THERE IS TO IT AS FAR AS SAFETY. THE TECHNICIANS AT THE DEALERSHIP WORKED ON IT, PUT IN A NEW DEFIBULATOR, TOOK IT BACK OUT AND SAID THEY CALLED GMC. ACCORDING TO THE TECHNICIAN, GM SAID ALL ENCLAVES MAKE THE SAME NOISE. I AM IRATE AS NOT ONE ON THE LOT MAKES THE NOISE NOR DO ANY OTHER'S THAT I KNOW PEOPLE DRIVE. I DID NOT PAY CLOSE TO $40,000 FOR A LUXURY VEHICLE THAT SOUNDS LIKE A 15 YEAR OLD CLUNKER IN WHICH AGAIN IS EMBARRASSING AS WELL NEEDS TO BE RECKONED WITH BEFORE MY NEXT DESCRIPTION MAY BE A BIG SAFETY ISSUE TOO! .................. TAKE CARE OF YOUR CONSUMERS GMC AS INTEGRITY SHOULD BE #1 IN YOUR COMPANY. *TR
I WAS DRIVING MY ENCLAVE AND I PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT I LOST POWER STEERING. I CALLED ON STAR AND THEY SAID IT WAS NOT SOMETHING THEY COULD DIAGNOSE. SUGGESTED I CHECK THE PS FLUID...I DID AND IT WAS JUST BELOW THE MIN LINE. I ADDED FLUID, IT GOT BETTER BUT I COULD STILL SENSE SOME PROBLEM. SVC SHOP SAID THERE WAS A LEAK, NEEDED TO REPLACE THE RACK AND PINION. BRINGING TO DEALER NEXT. I'VE SEEN SEVERAL COMPLAINTS/ARTICLES ABOUT PW PUMP PROBLEMS, LEAKS. I HAVE 60,200 MILES. SEEMS LIKE THIS IS A BIG SAFETY ISSUE (WHAT IF I LOST PS ON THE HIGHWAY), WHY ISN'T GM DOING SOMETHING ABOUT IT? *TR
STEERING UNIT EMITS GROWLING NOISE WHEN TURNING THE WHEELS. THERE IS FEEDBACK THRU THE STEERING WHEEL. I HAVE HAD THE POWER STEERING FLUID CHANGED AT 10,000 MILE INTERVALS AND THAT SEEMS TO HELP, BUT THE SERVICE STATION THAT CHANGES MY OIL TELLS ME THAT THE UNIT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED! HE HAS SEEN THE SAME ISSUE ON THE GMC ACADIA AND SATURN SUV AS WELL. ALSO, WE CONTINUE TO HAVE WET CARPET ON THE PASSENGER SIDE DUE TO THE SUN ROOF LEAKING. *TR
PASSENGER AIR BAG IS INDICATED AS BEING OFF;ALTHOUGH THERE IS A PASSENGER IN THE SEAT. *TR
MY 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE BECAME UNABLE TO CONTROL IN THE RAIN AT 55 MPH. TOOK TO DEALER AFTER 3 DAY RUN AROUND WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS A BULLETIN ON THIS VEHICLE THAT THE STEERING POSITION SENSOR BECAME WET AND STARTED BOOSTING STEERING CONTROL. THEY REPLACED SENSOR AND INNER FENDERS (TO KEEP MOISTURE OFF SENSOR) THIS VEHICLE WAS THE MOST DANGEROUS THING I HAVE EVER TRIED TO CONTROL. HOW CAN ANYTHING STAY DRY UNDER THE HOOD OF A CAR IN THE RAIN?? *TR
IF AFTER WITHIN APPROXIMATELY 2-4 SECONDS AFTER DROPPING MY 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE INTO PASSING GEAR I NEED TO PERFORM AN EMERGENCY STOP, THE VEHICLE CONTINUES TO TRY TO ACCELERATE. IT'S AS IF THE ACCELERATOR AND BRAKE ARE DEPRESSED AT THE SAME TIME. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY WERE ABLE TO EXPERIENCE THE ISSUE BUT WHEN THEY CHECKED WITH GM TECH SUPPORT THE DEALER WAS TOLD A 2 OR 3 SECOND DELAY WAS NORMAL AND WITHIN SPECIFICATIONS. THIS HAS HAPPENED APPROXIMATELY 5 TIMES SINCE I'VE HAD THE CAR (LATE 2007) AND HAS CAUSED 2 NEAR MISSES BUT NO ACCIDENTS. *TR

DEALER HAS REPLACED ALL WIRE HARNESSES, BCM, 2 RADIO HEAD UNITS/NAVIGATION, ALL LIGHT BULBS, CHECK FOR WATER INTRUSION, BPP SENSOR CALIBRATION, LGM BRACKET, CHECKED FOR CHAFFED WIRE, REPLACE BOTH SUN VISORS. VEHICLE WAS IN THE SHOP FOR 30 DAYS IN LAST 6 WEEKS AND A TOTAL OF 42 DAYS SINCE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED NEW WITH 61 MILES ON SEPTEMBER 2, 2008. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START 45 MINUTES AFTER BEING PICKED UP FROM DEALERSHIP LAST FRIDAY, 5-28-10, AFTER BEING IN SHOP FOR 2 WEEKS. CONTACTED DEALERS SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT THAT TIME. NO PHONE CALLS FROM DEALERSHIP SINCE, I STOPPED IN AT DEALERSHIP ON TUESDAY, 5-25-10 TO ASK FOR ANOTHER SERVICE. DEALER HAS NOT PICKED UP VEHICLE AND I SPOKE WITH THE GENERAL MANAGER OF THE DEALERSHIP REGARDING A BUY BACK OR TRADE IN THIS MORNING. GM CUSTOMER SERVICE OFFERED TO PAY 2 MONTHS CAR PAYMENTS, DETAILING AND AN OIL CHANGE AT NO CHARGE. I TOLD THEM I WANTED THIS VEHICLE TO BE SAFE FOR MY 22 MONTH OLD, HIS FRIENDS THAT RIDE IN THIS VEHICLE AND MY WIFE. GM TOLD ME THAT THEY WILL NOT CONSIDER A REPLACEMENT VEHICLE, A GM ENGINEER WOULD NOT BE SENT OUT TO MAKE SURE THIS VEHICLE WAS FIXED PROPERLY AND THIS WAS THEIR FINAL OFFER. I AM CONCERNED THE VEHICLE WILL CATCH FIRE WITH MY FAMILY IN IT. WHEN THE CAR LOOSES POWER, NONE OF THE ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED SAFETY FEATURES OPERATE AS IT IS TOTALLY WITHOUT POWER AS IF THE BATTERY WAS TAKEN OUT OF THE CAR. THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP ON A FLAT BED TOW TRUCK ON 2 OCCASIONS. *TR
2008 BUICK ENCLAVE. CONSUMER STATES RECURRING WARNING THAT STABILITRACK AND ABS REQUIRE SERVICE AND RECURRING SUNROOF DRAIN LEAK *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED THE SUNROOF LEAKED AGAIN FOR THE SECOND TIME. THE DEALER STATED THE SUNROOF DRAIN WAS PLUGGED, SO THEY CLEANED IT, AND THE LEAKING STOPPED. THE END OF JUNE 2010, THE LEAK OCCURRED AGAIN. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE A PROBLEM REGARDING THE WARNING LIGHTS FOR THE ABS AND STABILITRACK. *JB
SNOWY CONDITIONS - ABOUT 2 INCHES ON THE GROUND; AS I BEGAN TO DESCEND THE HILL NEAR MY HOME I TRIED TO APPLY THE BRAKES TO KEEP A SLOW PACE DOWN THE HILL. BRAKES FAILED AND I BEGAN TO SLIDE DOWN THE HILL. STEERING WAS UNRESPONSIVE; MESSAGES INTERCHANGEABLY FLASHED ON THE DASHBOARD - 'SERVICE STABILITRAK' AND 'SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL'. I HAD NO CONTROL OVER THE VEHICLE, AND HALFWAY DOWN THE HILL JUMPED AN 8" CURB. FORTUNATE THAT THE VEHICLE SWERVED TO THE RIGHT BECAUSE THERE WERE PARKED CARS TO THE LEFT. ALSO, FORTUNATE THERE WERE NO PEOPLE/CHILDREN AROUND, WHO COULD HAVE BEEN HIT. $3000 DAMAGE TO THE UNDERSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. VERY FRIGHTENING TO LOSE COMPLETE CONTROL OF THE CAR - I THOUGHT AWD, ABS, TRACTION CONTROL AND STABILITRAK ARE SUPPOSED TO HELP THE DRIVER MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE IN ADVERSE CONDITIONS. EVERYTHING FAILED AT ONCE. GOT THE VEHICLE TO THE CLOSEST GM DEALERSHIP; THEY RAN DIAGNOSTICS AND SURPRISE, EVERYTHING CHECKS OUT. THEY HAVE NO INDICATION ANYTHING FAILED, SO NOTHING FURTHER THEY CAN DO EXCEPT REPAIR THE PHYSICAL DAMAGE. I EXPERIENCED A COMPLETE FAILURE OF BRAKES, STEERING, TRACTION, AND ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL AND THE DEALERSHIP IS TELLING ME I DID NOT - THAT THE CONDITIONS WERE SLICK AND THAT'S WHAT CAUSED THE ACCIDENT. ISN'T THAT WHEN ALL OF THOSE SAFETY FEATURES ARE SUPPOSED TO ENGAGE? THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I EXPERIENCED A MALFUNCTION LIKE THIS IN THIS VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE SUN ROOF NEEDED TO BE SEALED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO OCCUR AND ALSO BEGAN TO LEAK INTO THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER BUT THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
08 BUICK ENCLAVE NORMALLY DOWNSHIFTS AND UPSHIFTS ALL THE WAY UP A HILL. TOOK IN THREE TIMES AND THEY SAID EVERYTHING CHECKS OUT NORMAL, JUST DRIVE IT. THEN DRIVING OUT TO ARIZONA, IT STARTED OUT DOWNSHIFTING AT THE START OF A HILL AND UPSHIFTING AT THE TOP OF THE HILL LIKE A NORMAL CAR. THEN ONCE EVERY FIVE TO TEN HILLS IT WOULD NOT UPSHIFT AT THE TOP OF THE HILL UNTIL I SHUT OFF THE CRUISE CONTROL. ONCE I WENT FIVE MILES DOWNHILL BEFORE I SHUT OFF THE CRUISE AND IT UPSHIFTED. I TOOK IT IN TO THE DEALER, BUT THE FEW MILES THEY DROVE IT, THEY COULD NOT MAKE IT HAPPEN. THEY SAID THERE WERE NO CODES SO THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO, SO JUST DRIVE IT LIKE IT IS, AS ITS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. IT HAD ALSO HAPPENED ONLY ONCE BEFORE WHEN IT WAS NEW,BUT THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING EITHER. I DON'T KNOW IF THIS IS CONNECTED OR NOT, BUT IF I WANT TO ACCELERATE SLOWLY,I HAVE TO PUSH THE GAS PEDAL DOWN FARTHER AND THEN BACK OFF QUICKLY TO NOT ACCELERATE TOO FAST. ONSTAR DIAGNOSED PROBLEM AS SOME SORT OF TRANSMISSION RELATED FAILURE. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO BUICK SERVICE FACILITY. GM TECHNICAL SUPPORT RECOMMENDED THAT ELECTRONIC CODES BE RESET AND VEHICLE IS TO BE RETURNED TO CUSTOMER. CUSTOMER PICKED UP VEHICLE AND VEHICLE TRANSMISSION FAILED AGAIN ONE HOUR LATER ON SAME DAY. WE PURCHASED A USED 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE AND THE PASSENGER SEAT AIR BAG INDICATOR LIGHT SHOWS THE AIR BAG TO BE OFF AS OFTEN AS ON WHEN AN ADULT PASSENGER IS SEATED THERE. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE WHEN YOU THINK YOU ARE PROTECTED AND YOU ARE NOT. *TR
A LITTLE AFTER WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN JULY 2009, THE PASSENGER AIRBAG SENSOR LIGHT WOULD MALFUNCTION AND INDICATE THAT NO PASSENGER WAS SITTING IN SEAT EVEN THOUGH THEY WERE. WE MOVED THE SEAT, WE BOUNCED IN THE SEAT AND THE SENSOR STILL DID NOT DETECT PASSENGER. WE TOOK THE CAR TO DEALER SEVERAL TIMES AND WERE TOLD THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG. WE TOOK THE CAR TO DEALER 04/16/2014 TO HAVE THE SENSOR CHECK AND THEY HAVE REPROGRAMMED THE SENSOR, HOWEVER, THIS COST US $103.17. DEALER SERVICE ADVISED US THAT IF THE SENSOR MALFUNCTIONS AGAIN, THEY WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE IT, HOWEVER WE WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR LABOR AND PART. I JUST CAME ACROSS THIS WEBSITE AND DECIDED TO FILE A COMPLAINT BECAUSE UPON LOOKING IN YOUR COMPLAINT DATABASE, IT SEEMS THAT OTHER ENCLAVE OWNERS HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME THING YET, GM HAS NOT RECALLED THE CAR WHICH IS OBVIOUSLY A FLAW IN THEIR ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS. *TT

REPEATED VISITS TO THE DEALERSHIP REVEAL NO "CODES" SO IT CONTINUES TO BE IGNORED. MY WIFE WILL NOT DRIVE IT ANYMORE SO I DO. I HAVE A 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE FOR WHICH THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR ONLY DETECTS A LOW WEIGHT (110 LB) ADULTS ABOUT 50% OF THE TIME. I WAS DRIVING ON RANDALL ROAD TRAVELING ABOUT 50 MPH. I SLOWED TO ENTER A RIGHT TURN LANE AND THE STEERING BEGAN TO SHUDDER WHEN I MOVED THE STEERING WHEEL. I BRAKED AGGRESSIVELY AND WAS ABLE AFTER MUCH EFFORT TO MANEUVER THE ENCLAVE INTO A PARKING SPACE. I PHONED MY HUSBAND AND UPON ARRIVAL FOUND THAT THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD NOT MOVE WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING. HE PHONED THE DEALER AND BUICK ASSISTANCE. AFTER 3 HOURS THE CAR WAS LOADED ON A TRUCK AND TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE SERVICE PERSON STATED THAT THE COOLER LINE HAD DEVELOPED A PIN HOLE LEAK AND LOST FLUID TO THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM. I AM STILL WAITING SINCE THE STEERING PUMP WAS ALSO DAMAGED. NO MENTION OF REPLACING THE RACK AND PINION (MY HUSBANDS HELP WITH THAT TERM). I DO NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE DRIVING A CAR THAT THE STEERING LOCKS UP IF THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM FAILS. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A FATAL OUTCOME UNDER DIFFERENT CIRCUMSTANCES BECAUSE I COULD NOT STEER THE CAR. THIS IS THE THIRD SAFETY RELATED PROBLEM SINCE IT WAS DELIVERED DECEMBER 31, 2007. THE DRIVER WINDSHIELD WIPER CAME LOOSE (HUSBAND FIXED) AND THE RIGHT REAR STRUT WELD FAILED LEAKING OIL ALL OVER THE GARAGE FLOOR AND MAKING THE CAR FEEL LOOSE DRIVING IT TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIRS. PARKED STATIONARY BUT ENGINE RUNNING: 250 POUND MALE HAD LEFT HAND OVER THE TOP OF THE DOOR WITH THE WINDOW DOWN IN 11 DEGREE WEATHER. HE WAS BACKING HIMSELF INTO THE CAR BECAUSE HE WAS ON CRUTCHES SO HIS LEFT HAND WAS USING THE OPEN FRONT PASSENGER DOOR FOR SUPPORT AT THE TOP BY THE WINDOW. THE WINDOW STARTED GOING UP AND HIS PINKY CAUGHT BETWEEN THE OUTSIDE WINDOW SEAL AND THE WINDOW. IT CHOPPED OFF THE TIP OF HIS PINKY ALONG WITH THE TIP OF FINGER BONE. FEEL THE OUTSIDE BLACK WINDOW SEAL ABOVE THE FRONT PASSENGER WINDOW. IT IS VERY PAPER THIN AND VERY SHARP LIKE A RAZOR IF YOU WERE TO LIGHTLY RUB YOUR FINGER ALONG IT. NOW, IMAGINE THE BLACK SEAL IN 11 DEGREE WEATHER. IT HARDENS. MAYBE BECAUSE IT HAPPENED FROM THE OUTSIDE IN WE BELIEVE THE WINDOW CAUGHT AND FORCED THE FINGER UP AND THE SEAL SHAVED IT OFF LIKE A RAZOR SLICE. A SKIN GRAPH DID NOT TAKE AND HIS PINKY IS NOW A DEFORMED TIP ON THE FINGER. KEEP KIDS (AND ADULTS) HANDS AWAY FROM THE WINDOWS--ESPECIALLY IN FREEZING COLD WEATHER.

AND AWAITING A CALL BACK TO SEE WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE TO REPAIR IT. I HAVE ABOUT 28K ON IT. I DID KNOW OTHERS WERE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM. NOTHING UNUSUAL, ALL POWER TURNED OFF; FIRST TWO TIMES, BATTERY NEAR-DEAD WHEN STARTED, THEN COMPLETELY DEAD AFTER TURNING KEY IN IGNITION SEVERAL TIMES. THIRD TIME, KEY WOULD NOT COME OUT UNTIL BATTERY WAS RECHARGED. *TR
HAVE HAD THE BATTERY DIE 3 TIMES IN ONE YEAR ON THE CAR WITH EVERYTHING SHUT OFF ETC. ALSO ONCE YOU PUT THE KEY IN THE CAR TO START IT AND IT DOESN'T START, THE KEY WON'T COME OUT. *TR
MY 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE CONSISTENTLY HAS WATER LEAKS AFTER IT RAINS. THERE IS A LOT OF CONDENSATION BUILD UP IN THE VEHICLE AND WATER IN THE CARGO AREA. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP 3 TIMES FOR THIS ISSUE, BUT IT HAS YET TO BE REPAIRED AFTER 3 UNSUCCESSFUL ATTEMPTS (EVEN THOUGH THE DEALERSHIP SAYS THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN FIXED). *TR
