AS I BEGIN TO ACCELERATE THE RPM'S WOULD GO TO 4 BUT MY SPEED WOULD ONLY BE 25MPH. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. WHEN I PULL OVER, TURN THE CAR OFF, START IT AGAIN, THEN IT RUNS LIKE IT SHOULD. I CONTACTED THE DEALER AND THEY SAID I NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION WHICH WILL COST $4000. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS PROBLEM AND IT SEEMS THAT MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM BUT SO FAR NO RECALL. I HAVE READ THAT A PART IN THE TRANSMISSION IS NOT PROPERLY HEAR TREATED WHICH IS THE CAUSE OF THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. *TR
AFTER A STEADY RAIN I NOTICED THE PASSENGER FLOOR BOARD WAS SOAKED. I THOUGHT A WINDOW WAS ACCIDENTALLY LEFT CRACKED AFTER CHECKING WINDOW AND REALIZING WINDOW WAS NOT CRACKED. WATER IS GETTING INTO CAR THROUGH SUN ROOF DRAINING INTO THE CAR. SEVERAL RAINS LATER IT IS CONSTANTLY WATER INSIDE THE CAR. *TR
WHILE TURNING INTO PARKING SPOTS OR IN AN INTERSECTION WHILE AT LOW SPEEDS THE STEERING BECOMES EXTREMELY DIFFICULT IF NOT IMPOSSIBLE. *TR
THIS IS THE 8TH TIME+ WE'VE HAD WATER ENTER THE CAR THROUGH THE CLOSED MOON ROOF. WATER DRIPS DOWN THROUGH THE LEFT AND RIGHT WINDSHIELD PILLARS, FLOWS OUT OF THE SEATBELT TENSIONERS IN THE 3RD ROW AND THROUGH THE HEADLINER ONTO THE INSIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD. YOU CAN HEAR A WAVE OF WATER FLOWING ABOVE THE HEADLINER,AND WHEN WOOSH IT FLOWS WHEN THE CAR DIPS TO ONE SIDE OR THE OTHER. THERE'S HAS TO BE ELECTRICAL ISSUES AND RUST THAT'S BEING CREATED BY THIS PROBLEM. THE DEALERSHIP SAYS THE DRAIN IS CLOGGED WITH LEAFS, FROM A MOON ROOM THAT'S NEVER BEEN OPENED. THIS PROBLEM IS PERVASIVE FOR THIS PLATFORM (2007-2012/TRAVERSE/ACADIA/OUTLOOK/ENCLAVE) BUT I DON'T SEE ANY ACTIVITY FROM THIS ORGANIZATION TO ADDRESS THIS. THE LAST 2 TIMES THIS HAPPENED BRAKING SYSTEM FAILED. WARNING ON THE DIC: BREAK ASSIST OFF AND THEN THE RED CRITICAL FAILURE WARNING AND TONES CAME ON WHILE DRIVING. SO NOW I HAVE WATER ON THE INSIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD AND FAILURE OF THE BRAKING SYSTEM, WHILE I'M DRIVING. THE DEALERSHIP WAS UNABLE TO PULL ANY ERROR CODES, BUT I RECORDED THE EVENT ON MY CELL PHONE. NOW THIS IS A NTSB ISSUE. FAILED BRAKES AND NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE OUT THE WINDSHIELD IS A REAL ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN. (NOTE, ONCE THE VEHICLE DRIED OUT, THE BRAKE FAILURE WARNING AND TONES WENT AWAY.) GOOD THING WE LIVE IN DROUGHT STRICKEN CALIFORNIA OR WE'D PROBABLY BE DEAD A LONG TIME AGO. *TR
POWER STEERING WOULD GRIND, OCCURRED FOR OVER 20,000 MILES, AND DEALER COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM ON SEVERAL INSTANCES OF BEING IN FOR MAINTENANCE. STEERING WOULD BE SLUGGISH AT TIMES BUT NOT EASILY REPRODUCED FOR DEALER SERVICE. INDEPENDENT SHOP FOUND MASSIVE LEAKAGE IN THE RACK AND PINION SYSTEM ON BOTH SIDES AS WELL AS COMPLETE LEAKAGE FROM THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL. INDEPENDENT SHOP INDICATED BOTH WERE SIGNIFICANT SAFETY ISSUES REQUIRING IMMEDIATE REPAIR; THEY ALSO WERE SURPRISED AT THE DEALER'S INABILITY TO DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE. *TR
TRANSMISSION FAILED 3 WEEKS OUT OF POWERTRAIN WARRANTY AND REQUIRED A REBUILD THEN FAILED AGAIN ABOUT A YEAR LATER. STEERING PUMP AND COOLING MOTOR FAILED DURING WARRANTY PERIOD AND WERE REPLACED AND THEN BOTH FAILED 18 MONTHS LATER (OUT OF WARRANTY) STABILITRAC AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS KEEP TURNING ON AFTER THE DEALER HAS REPAIRED IT 3 TIMES (TURNS ON ABOUT 30 MINUTES AWAY FROM DEALER EACH TIME). NHTSA REALLY NEEDS TO TAKE ACTION AGAINST BUICK AND GM REGARDING THE 2008 ENCLAVE, IT IS A LEMON AND PEOPLE ARE BEING RIPPED OFF OVER IT AND PUT AT SERIOUS RISK BECAUSE OF ITS' SHORT COMINGS. *TR
LOSS POWER STEERING WHILE TURNING OFF HIGHWAY. HAD TO DRIVE IN MANUAL STEERING MODE. POWER STEERING CAME BACK BUT HAS REMAINED INTERMITTENT. STEERING FLUID IS FINE. DEALER STATED ISSUE RELATED TO PREVIOUS SEEN ISSUE WITH ENCLAVE STEERING REQUIRING GEAR REPLACEMENT AT 1500 COST. *TR
DRIVING HOME FROM NEWARK LIBERTY AIRPORT ON TUESDAY 1/8/2013 ON HIGHWAY ( RT 78 AND RT 24 IN NEW JERSEY ). HESITATION IN ACCELERATION NOTED WHEN PRESSING GAS PEDAL . CONCERN THAT I WOULD BE REAR ENDED AS CAR DID NOT RESPOND TO ACCELERATION ATTEMPTS ON A BUSY HIGHWAY WITH A SPEED LIMIT 65. TOOK CAR TO DEALERSHIP ON 1/9/2013- NORMAN GALE BUICK IN CEDAR KNOLLS NEW JERSEY AND AFTER EVALUATION I WAS TOLD TOLD I NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION ON MY 5 YEAR OLD CAR WITH LOW MILEAGE AT A COST OF $4100. CAR WARRANTY 5 YEARS $100,000 MILES EXPIRED 11/7/2012. I TOOK THE VEHICLE FOR A SECOND ESTIMATE AT MY LOCAL SERVICE STATION,GULF STATION ROUTE 124 MORRISTOWN NJ. SERVICE MANAGER , ZEE ALSO CONFIRMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NEED REPLACEMENT BUT THE TRANSMISSION EXPERT THAT HE CONTRACTS WITH TOLD HIM THEY WILL NOT TOUCH THIS MAKE AND MODEL .NO REASON PROVIDED TO MY HUSBAND . I HAVE RESEARCHED ON THE INTERNET AND HAVE NOTED SEVERAL OTHER REPORTS OF TRANSMISSION FAILURES ON THIS 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE WITH MILEAGE UNDER 70,000. *TR
THE STEERING IS NOW MAKING A LOUD MOANING NOISE. WILL BE TAKING TO DEALER TO TRY TO FIX. READING MANY REPORTS ONLINE THAT THIS IS A WIDE SPREAD ISSUE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS LOCKED WITH THE ANTI-THEFT ENGAGED. HE THEN ERRONEOUSLY ENGAGED THE LIFT GATE BUTTON AND THE LIFT GATE OPENED WITHOUT THE ANTI-THEFT ALARM SOUNDING. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED BY A MECHANIC OR A DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
AFTER MOMENTARILY PUTTING THE CAR IN PARK, AND THEN BACK INTO DRIVE, THE CAR WOULD ONLY MOVE A COUPLE INCHES AT A TIME AND AFTER 30 SECONDS OR SO, STOPPED MOVING ENTIRELY. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO GARAGE, AND NEEDED TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION REPLACED DUE TO DEFECTIVE WAVE PLATES. *TR
A WATER LEAK CAUSED BY A BACKUP IN THE DRAIN TUBES OF MY WIFE'S 2008 ENCLAVE EVIDENTLY CAUSED AN APPARENT COMPUTER SYSTEM INCIDENT WHEREBY I WAS LOCKED IN THE VEHICLE AND COULD NOT GET OUT. THE KEY WAS STUCK IN IGNITION (AND COULD NOT BE REMOVED) AND MANUAL DOOR LOCKS WOULD NOT UNLOCK VEHICLE BECAUSE THERE WAS SOME KIND OF SAFETY INTERLOCK. EVIDENTLY THERE WAS A SHORT IN THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WHICH DISABLED ALL METHODS OF EXITING OR STARTING VEHICLE. FOR SOME REASON THE ONSTAR SYSTEM WORKED, BUT ONSTAR HAD NO CLUE AS TO HOW TO ASSIST OR OVERRIDE THE INTERLOCK FEATURE. IT WAS WINTER TIME, AND MY WIFE AND OUR DOG WERE ALSO STRANDED IN VERY COLD WEATHER OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE. LUCKILY WE WERE ASSISTED BY A STRANGER THAT USED HIS JUMPER CABLES TO GET THE CAR STARTED. I AM CONCERNED THAT THIS COULD HAPPEN IF THE CAR WERE SUBMERGED OR THE COMPUTER SYSTEM WAS SOMEHOW COMPROMISED IT COULD CAUSE A SIMILAR PROBLEM. FILED PROBLEM WITH BUICK CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP VIA EMAIL BUT ALL THEY WANTED TO DO WAS TO REPLACE THE BATTERY. AS OF THIS DATE (4/4/14) WE STILL HAVE THE ORIGINAL BATTERY, BUT THEY DENY ANY KNOWLEDGE OF THE PROBLEM. I HAVE EMAILS FROM BUICK AND THEIR SERVICE REQUEST NUMBER IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO VERIFY MY CLAIM. I ONLY RECENTLY BECAME AWARE THAT I COULD FILE A COMPLAINT WITH NHTSA IN THIS MANNER. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 58 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITH THE ILLUMINATION OF THE CHECK ENGINE AND STOP VEHICLE WARNING LIGHTS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS WHERE IT WAS STATED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REBUILT. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE PROBLEM PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000. *TR
AT LOW SPEEDS, THE POWER STEERING SEIZES UP, MAKING THE CAR VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO STEER. *TR
THE STEERING ON MY CAR IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE WHEN I AM DRIVING UNDER 15 MPH. PLACES SUCH AS PARKING LOTS, BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY, ETC HAS BECOME DANGEROUS FOR ME TO MANEUVER. I AM VERY CONCERNED FOR MY SAFETY. I TOOK IT TO THE SHOP TODAY AND THEY'RE TELLING ME IT'S A KNOWN ISSUE BUT THERE IS NO RECALL...IT'S GOING TO COST ME OVER $2,000 TO FIX. THE POWER STEERING PUMP AND RACK NEED REPLACED. IT'S COMPLETELY RIDICULOUS FOR BUICK TO NOT STAND BEHIND THIS! *TR
ATTEMPTED TO MAKE A RIGHT HAND TURN FROM A SHOPPING MALL DRIVEWAY INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THE STEERING SYSTEM FAILED AND WOULD NOT ALLOW THE DRIVER TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. POWER TO THE SYSTEM RETURNED WITHIN 5-10 SECONDS, BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NARROWLY AVOIDED BY CARS TRAVELING THE ROADWAY BEING ENTERED. *TR
THE PASSENGER AIRBAG SENSOR DOES NOT DETECT A PERSON SITTING DOWN. MOST OF THE TIME IT DOES NOT TURN ON EVEN WHEN AN ADULT IS SITTING ON THE SEAT.
THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG IS OFF WHILE AN ADULT IS SITTING IN THE SEAT. DOES NOT RESET AFTER THE ADULT ADJUSTS THEIR POSTURE IN THE SEAT. BASED ON MY INTERNET SEARCHES, THIS APPEARS TO BE A PROBLEM THAT MANY OWNERS HAVE REPORTED. IF THERE IS A CRASH, THE PASSENGER WOULD NOT BE PROTECTED BECAUSE THE AIRBAG IS OFF. *TR
VEHICLE HIT A STATIONARY OBJECT, TELEPHONE POLE, IN THE CENTER OF THE FRONT BUMPER. THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. THE ISSUE ARE THE AIR BAGS OF WHICH NONE ACTIVATED. VEHICLE HAD A HISTORY OF AIR BAG RECALL AND WARNING LIGHTS REPAIR. VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY THE DEALER ON 1/18/11 FOR THE RECALL AT 42,968 MILES. PREVIOUS REPAIRS WERE AT THE DEALER AND NOT FROM THE RECALL. MY CONCERN IS THERE ARE ADDITIONAL AIR BAG RECALLED VEHICLES ON THE ROAD, WHICH THE OWNER FELT THE RECALL SOLVED THE PROBLEM. THEY MAY HAVE AN ISSUE IF INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT AS THE REPAIRS DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM ON MY CAR. *TR
TRANSMISSION COMPLETELY WENT OUT. ALSO FOR ABOUT 1 YEAR , THE POWER STEERING HAS MADE A LOUD SQUEAKING NOISE AND THE DEALER SAID IT COULDN'T BE FIXED. *TR
DRIVING THE CAR YESTERDAY AND THE SPEAKERS BEGAN TO FLICKER ON AND OFF. SUDDENLY THEY ALL WENT OFF AND SEEM TO NO LONGER WORK. THIS SEEMS TO ALSO EFFECT MY TURN SIGNALS AS NO SOUNDS ARE INDICATED WHEN THEY'RE TURNED ON, WHICH SEEMS TO BE A SAFETY RISK. LOOKING ONLINE, THIS SAME ISSUE SEEMS TO EFFECT A NUMBER OF BUICK ENCLAVES. I'D LIKE BUICK TO FIX THIS ISSUE AT THEIR EXPENSE ASAP. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH, THE ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONTACT NOTICED BLACK SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. THE CONTACT STOPPED THE VEHICLE ON THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD AND THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTO REPAIR SHOP WHERE THE MECHANIC REFERRED THE CONTACT TO THE DEALER FOR FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER NOR REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,000.
MY WIFE WEIGHS 120#. DURING NORMAL DRIVING THE PASSENGER AIRBAG ON AND OFF LIGHT IS ERRATIC AT BEST. ONCE SET TO OFF WHILE DRIVING EVEN BOUNCING UP AND DOWN WON'T TURN THE AIRBAGS BACK ON. *TR
INTERMITTENT PROBLEM WITH POWER STEERING. THE STEERING BECOMES EXTREMELY DIFFICULT AT TIMES, MAKING THIS A VERY HAZARDOUS SITUATION. *TR
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
OUR 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE BEGAN LEAKING WATER ONTO AND UNDER THE DASHBOARD FROM THE SUNROOF. NOT ONLY HAS THIS BEEN A KNOWN PROBLEM SINCE 2008, BUT THERE WAS AN ACTUAL RECALL THAT YEAR TO FIX THIS LEAK. FOR SOME REASON OUR VIN NUMBER WAS EXCLUDED FROM THE ORIGINAL RECALL BUT IT IS EXPERIENCING THE EXACT SAME ISSUES THAT THE RECALL WAS TO ADDRESS. THIS LEAK CAN CAUSE SEVERAL SAFETY ISSUES INCLUDING CORROSION AND FAILURE OF AIRBAG SYSTEMS, THE FUSE PANEL, THE BLOWER MOTOR THAT OPERATES THE DEFROST/DEFOG FUNCTION, AND A BUILDUP OF MOLD AND MILDEW. THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT MY FUSE PANEL IS SHOT AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I SUSPECT THAT I HAVE OTHER DAMAGED ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS AS WELL. I HAVE ATTACHED THE URL'S OF SEVERAL SITES WHICH REFERENCE THE EXTENT TO WHICH THIS PROBLEM IS OCCURRING WITH THESE VEHICLES. IT IS OBVIOUS THAT THE INITIAL RECALL DID NOT COVER ALL OF THE VEHICLES WITH THE UNDERLYING PROBLEM AND NOW WE ARE STUCK WITH A DEALER QUOTE FOR $1900 REPAIR THAT DOES NOT INCLUDE THE BLOWER MOTOR AND AIRBAGS. I WOULD APPRECIATE A PROMPT RESPONSE AS I CAN'T DRIVE IN THE RAIN AND AM CONCERNED ABOUT HIDDEN DAMAGE THAT COULD AFFECT THE CAR'S SAFETY. THANKS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE WHEN THE TECHNICIAN ATTEMPTED TO ADD AIR TO THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE BUT THE FRAGMENTS OF THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE REAR DRIVER SIDE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM WAS ALSO FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A TIRE SHOP FOR REPAIR. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 74,000 UPDATED 1/20/12*CN
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE INSTRUMENT PANEL ALSO FAILED. ADDITIONALLY, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO LOSE POWER AND STALLED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE WHICH WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO ADVISED THAT THE WIRES UNDER THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER'S SEAT SHORT CIRCUITED AND WERE EXPOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE REPAIRS DID NOT PREVENT THE VEHICLE FROM STALLING AGAIN. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AFTER THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL DEALER, WHO REPLACED THE WIRES UNDER THE SEATS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER THE SECOND REPAIR, THERE WERE STILL EXPOSED WIRES PROTRUDING FROM UNDER THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER'S SEAT AND THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT WOULD ILLUMINATE SPORADICALLY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE RECURRING FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,061.
WITHOUT INCIDENT OR CAUSE, OUR 2008 ENCLAVE BEGAN LEAKING AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF WATER ONTO THE PASSENGER AND DRIVER'S SIDE FLOOR BOARDS. ONLY BY ONLINE SEARCHING HAVE I FOUND THAT THESE LEAKS ARE MOST LIKELY COMING FROM INADEQUATE DRAIN TUBES OR OTHER COMPONENT OF THE SUNROOF. OUR LOCAL GMC / CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP HAS COMPLETELY BRUSHED US OFF AND REFUSED TO HONOR EXTENDED WARRANTY OR EVEN LOOK AT THE VEHICLE IN THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT. THEY HAVE SENT US TO LOCAL AUTOGLASS COMPANIES AND A LOCAL BODY SHOP, NEITHER OF WHICH EVEN SLOWED DOWN THE LEAKING. AT THIS POINT, I JUST WANT TO GET RID OF THIS VEHICLE. I HAVE TWO YOUNG DAUGHTERS, AGE 3 AND 4, WHO WILL UNDOUBTEDLY BE EXPOSED TO MOLD AND MILDEW IN THE VENTILATION SYSTEM OF THIS CAR. ASIDE FROM THIS, THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS AND RUST ARE BOUND TO OCCUR IN THE FUTURE. BUICK HAS COMPLETELY FAILED THIS CONSUMER. *TR
THIS CAR HAS A WHINNING NOISE COMING FROM THE STEERING COLUMN THAT GETS LOUDER THE MORE DRIVE IT. I HAVE CONTACTED THE BUICK CARE DEPT AND THEY INDICATED IT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM BUT THEY WILL NOT FIX IT. THEY HAD ME TAKE MY CAR TO THE BUICK PLACE WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AND THEY COME UP WITH ABOUT 1900.00 TO FIX THIS AND SAY THAT IT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE BUICK STEERING THAT SOME HOUSING IS TOO CLOSE TO THE STEERING COLUMN AND IT CREATES THE NOISE AND STEERING PROBLEMS AND THAT BUICK AND EVERYONE ELSE IS AWARE OF IT AND THAT THEY SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL BUT DO NOT. IN ADDITION I HAVE ENGINE STALLING PROBLEMS WHERE THERE IS LACK OF POWER UPON SUDDEN ACCELERATION. THIS HAPPENS FREQUENTLY. *TR

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE HOWEVER, OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. NO REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 72,000 AND THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

THE VEHICLE LOSES POWER STEERING CONTROL AT LOW SPEED. I HAVE MADE SEVERAL COMPLAINTS TO THE DEALER WHO CAN FIND NO PROBLEM. IT IS THE WORST WHEN TURNING INTO A PARKING SPOT, HOWEVER WHEN DRIVING AROUND A CORNER AT NORMAL SPEEDS IT IS VERY HARD TO HANDLE AND CHANGING LANES ON THE HIGHWAY WAS ALSO AN ISSUE. THE VEHICLE HAS HAD A RE-OCCURRING ROOF LEAK FOR ~2 YEARS. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO TWO DIFFERENT DEALERS FOR A TOTAL OF 5 TIMES FOR REPAIR. WATER LEAKS DOWN THE PILLARS BETWEEN THE WINDSHIELD AND FRONT DOOR, THE PILLARS BETWEEN THE FRONT AND BACK DOORS, AND FROM THE LIGHTS IN THE BACK. THE WATER COLLECTS IN AND UNDER THE CARPET AND HAS AN ODOR. THERE IS A MOLD CONCERN. *TR

WE ALMOST HAD A HEAD ON COLLISION WHEN I TURNED IT IN AGAIN WITH THE SAME ISSUE DEMANDING SOMETHING BE DONE. (5/10/13 CORRECTION-REPLACE LEAKING STEERING GEAR AND FAILED P/S PUMP, FILL SYSTEM, BLEED SYS AND VERIFY OPERATION). DIFFICULTY STEERING AND LOUD POPPING NOISE WHILE TURNING LEFT (SERVICE DATE 4/18/14- FOUND INTERNAL LEAK FORM POWER STEERING RACK -REPLACED RACK AND BLEED SYSTEM AND ALIGNED VEHICLE. DROVE OUT OF THE THE DEALERSHIP AND NOTICED A/C NOT WORKING AND SAME NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT WHILE TURNING LEFT. TOOK IT BACK IN (5/5/14-FOUND LEFT FRONT AXLE SHAFT TO BE POPPING NEEDS TO REPLACE AT OWNERS EXPENSE. THE DEALERSHIP HAD THE VEHICLE FOR 20+ DAYS AND DID NOT FIX. AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED SO I TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO THE DEALER (6/29/10--POOR CONNECTION AT SIR HARNESS--DIAGNOSED AND REPAIRED. RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE IN THE MAIL-TOOK VEHICLE INTO THE DEALER (4/18/14--CORRECTION COMPLETED). AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AGAIN. TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP (5/5/14-INTERMITTENT SHORT IN PASSENGER PRESENCE MODULE, CHECKED AN RECHECKED -- CORRECTIONS NEEDS FROM PASSENGER PRESENCE MODULE AT CUSTOMERS EXPENSE I WAS CALLED TO PICKED VEHICLE UP AS IS AFTER 20+ DAYS. DEALERSHIP WOULD NOT FIX. *TR
NO ACTUAL EVENT BUT THE ROOF LEAKS IN THE SUNROOF AREA AND DOWN THE SIDES WHERE SPEAKERS ARE WATER LEAKS FROM THE VISOR AND APPEAR TO BE IN THE LIGHT FIXTURES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP TWO SEPERATE TIMES AND ISSUE STILL ISN'T RESOLVED. THEY CLAIM THAT THE PORT HOLES WERE POSSIBLY CLOGGED ETC.. *TT
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
