TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE CONTACT NOTICED WATER LEAKING INTO THE VEHICLE FROM THE SUN ROOF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE DRAIN HOSE FROM THE SUN ROOF WAS CLOGGED AND NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL FOR THE ISSUE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO SPEAK WITH NHTSA. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR DID NOT ILLUMINATE WHEN THE PASSENGER SEAT WAS OCCUPIED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE PPS SENSOR MODULAR ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000. TRANSMISSION, POWER STEERING PUMP, STEERING GEARS ARE GONE @ 116,000 MILES? ONE OWNER BUICK ENCLAVE HAS HUGE PROBLEMS - NOT ONE LEMON - ALL ENCLAVES ARE LEMONS! WHERE IS THE RECALL ON THESE CARS? MANY OTHERS HAVE SAME PROBLEM AND EVEN MORE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE. WHILE TURNING THE VEHICLE AT APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH, THE TRANSMISSION FAILED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND THE TROUBLE CODE DETECTED INTERNAL TRANSMISSION FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 81,700.
WE LOST OUR TRANSMISSION ENTERING ONTO A BUSY INTERSTATE! NO INDICATOR LIGHTS EVER CAME ON UNTIL IT HAPPENED. WE ARE NOT IN THE HABIT OF BEATING OUR VEHICLES. WE ARE A RETIRED. THIS I FEEL IS A DEFECT IN SOMETHING. THERE WERE MANY CARS COMING BEHIND US ON THE RAMP. IT WAS A 2 LANE RAMP THAT WENT TO ONE LANE. I GOT INTO THE RIGHT LANE WHEN I NOTICED THE PROBLEM THAT THE CAR WAS JERKING AND WOULD GO INTERMITTENTLY. I SAYED RIGHT UNTIL I COULD GET TO A PULL OVER AREA. FULL LINES OF TRAFFIC BEHIND US WERE HAVING TO SLOW DOWN WHICH IT LOOKED PRETTY SCAREY WHEN I LOOKED IN THE REAR VIEW MIRROR. MY HUSBAND AND I FEEL THAT THE WAY WE DRIVE SHOULD NOT MAKE US LOSE A TRANSMISSION. ALSO, WHEN WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE WE TOOK IT IN FOR A STEERING SQUEEK, LOUD, AND WERE TOLD NOTHING WAS WRONG. IT STILL SQUEEKS AND WORSE. WE ARE HAVING THAT LOOKED AT NOW, AGAIN! WE DO NOT TRUST THE WARNING LIGHTS ON THIS VEHICLE. WE PURCHASED IT NEW. *TR
SINCE I BOUGHT MY TRUCK I HEARD A WEIRD NOISE FROM THE STEERING WHEEL I THOUGHT WELL MAYBE BECAUSE IM NOT USED TO IT BECAUSE BEFORE I WAS DRIVING AN NISSAN X-TERRA 2002. SO IM A WOMEN DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT CARS SO I SAID IT LOOKS GOOD IT WAS FROM ONLY ONE OWNER BEFORE SO I THINK WE ARE GOOD. PLUS I THOUGHT IT'S NOT LIKE I'M PAYING $5,000 FOR A TRUCK AND IT'S A BUICK IT'S CONSIDER LUXURY SO I DIDN'T THINK I WAS MAKING A BAD CHOICE. WELL THE NOISE IT'S GETTING WORSE I BARELY MADE IT TO MY HOUSE YESTERDAY BECAUSE THE STEERING WHEEL DIDN'T WANT TO WORK ANYMORE IT WAS RAINING SO HARD IM 9 MONTHS PREGNANT I MADE THAT INVESTMENT DOING A HUGE SACRIFICE SO ME AND MY CHILD COULD BE PROTECTED, FEEL CONFIDENT THAT AT THE END OF THE DAY WE ARE IN GOOD HANDS IN THAT TRUCK. ALSO WHEN I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK A MONTH LATER THE AIR BAG SERVICE LIGHT WAS ON I DID A RESEARCH IT SAID THAT THIS TRUCK HAD A RECALL FOR THAT SO I TOOK IT TO THE BUICK AND THEY FIX IT. AND NOW THE ENGINE LIGHT TURNS ON EVERY NOW AND THEN. I MEAN I'M DOING EVERYTHING I SHOULD FOR THIS VEHICLE I CHANGE OIL REGULARLY AND I PAY FOR THE SYNTHETIC OIL BECAUSE THEY SAID IT WAS BETTER FOR THIS TYPE OF BRAND CARS THAT ARE LUXURY FOR OUR MIDDLE CLASS PEOPLE. AND IT'S NOT LIKE I TRAVEL IN THAT VEHICLE I ONLY USE IT TO GO TO WORK, GROCERIES, FAMILY AND FRIENDS HOUSE HONESTLY I DON'T USE IT TO TRAVEL WHERE I LIVE IS A SMALL TOWN SO IT'S NOT LIKE I HAVE THIS TRUCK ALL OVER THE PLACE IF YOU SEE IT'S LIKE NEW IT'S THE CXL IT HAS 2 SUNROOF, LEATHER SEATS, DVD PLAYER I MEAN IM IN LOVE WITH THIS TRUCK BUT C'MON THAT'S NOT SAFE FOR ME AND MY BABY. *TR
POWER STEERING WENT OUT AT 10-35 MPH AT 5:00 6/4/2014. TOOK THE ENCLAVE TO THE DEALER 6/5/2014 NO WORD YET ON WHAT HAS GONE WRONG. HOPEFUL FOR MORE INFO TODAY 6/6/2014. CAR DROVE FINE FOR THE PAST 1-1/2 YEARS, THEN OUT OF NO WHERE VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER A 6,000 LB. VEHICLE WITHOUT POWER STEERING. LUCKY THAT I WAS NOT ON THE HIGHWAY WITH MY FAMILY IN THIS VEHICLE. BUT, STILL SCARY EVEN ON CITY STREETS AS TURNING HAD TO BE ACCOMPLISHED VERY WIDELY. *TR
A SMALL GROMMET FAILED ALLOWING THE SUNROOF DRAIN LOCATED INSIDE THE ROOF TO DRAIN WATER TO THE INTERIOR FRONT DRIVERS SIDE. THE LEAK WAS NOT EASILY DETECTED UNTIL A MOLDY SMELL DEVELOPED INSIDE THE CAR, HUMIDITY ISSUES, AND THE RADIO STOPPED WORKING. THE AMPLIFIER LOCATED NEAR THE LEAK SHORTED OUT AND FAILED. (NO FIRE LUCKILY) AFTER $1700 WORTH OF DAMAGES AND REPAIRS WERE MADE BY BUICK, THIS DESIGN DEFECT WAS CORRECTED AT FULL COST TO THE OWNER. THIS WATER LEAK COULD HAVE EASILY CAUSED MORE PROBLEMS AND POSSIBLY EVEN A ELECTRICAL FIRE. OTHER ENCLAVE OWNERS WITH SIMILAR PROBLEMS SHOULD FORM A CLASS ACTION SUIT. GM DOES NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS OBVIOUS DESIGN FLAW EVEN THOUGH THE BUICK ENCLAVE FORUMS HAVE NUMEROUS SIMILAR COMPLAINTS. GM'S RESPONSE WAS TO OFFER A $2500 CREDIT ON A NEW VEHICLE PURCHASE. I CERTAINLY HAVE NO NEED TO EVER PURCHASE ANOTHER PROBLEM. *TR

RACK AND PINION GONE BAD ONLY 62,000 MILES ON MY SUV ESTIMATED COST $1200. HOW CAN THIS BE HAPPENING ON A $55,000 PLUS VEHICLE. ALSO HAD TO REPLACE THE WATER PUMP A YEAR AGO GOT STRANDED ON HIGHWAY. WAS OUT OF QUITE A BIT OF MONEY WITH TOWING BACK TO ILLINOIS FROM OHIO PLUS THE COST OF REPAIRS. I'M AT A POINT WHERE I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE OUT OF STATE IN FEAR OF A MAJOR BREAKDOWN. *TR
TRANSMISSION HAS BECOME DEFECTIVE ON THE VEHICLE, NOT SURE OF THE EXTENT BECAUSE IT IS CURRENTLY IN THE SHOP. STOPPED ACCELERATING THE COST SO FAR TO FIX IS $625 AND THAT IS JUST TO HAVE IT TAKEN OUT AND LOOKED AT BUT I AM SURE IT WILL INCREASE ONCE THEY FIND OUT THAT THE PROBLEM IS THE SAME ISSUE AS A LOT OF OTHER 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE OWNERS HAVE HAD. THIS IS A MANUFACTURER ISSUE AND NEEDS TO HAVE A RECALL, WHY SHOULD THE CONSUMER HAVE TO PAY FOR A CRAPPY GM PRODUCT. *TR
WE WERE DRIVING OUR ENCLAVE ON THE HIGHWAY (ROUTE 1 NEAR STAFFORD, VA) WHEN IT FELT LIKE IT WAS SUDDENLY NOT SHIFTING GEARS CORRECTLY AND QUICKLY THEREAFTER LOST POWER BEYOND 30 MILES PER HOUR. WE DROVE INTO A PARKING LOT. WE CALLED THE NEAREST BUICK DEALERSHIP/REPAIR SHOP (ROUTE 1 BUICK IN WOODBRIDGE, VA) AND TOLD THEM OF ISSUE. THEY SAID IT SOUNDS LIKE TRANSMISSION AND THE WAVE PLATE IS A "KNOWN ENCLAVE PROBLEM." THEY SAID TO HAVE IT TOWED TO THEM AND THEY MAY BE ABLE TO ASSIST US WITH COST AS IT'S CLOSE TO WITHIN POWERTRAIN WARRANTY. WE HAD IT TOWED TO ROUTE 1 BUICK. THEY DIAGNOSED AND FOUND ALL TRANSMISSION AND WAVE PLATE CODES. THEY SAID IT WAS A "KNOWN PROBLEM" AND SO THEY CALLED BUICK GM SERVICE MANAGER. ROUTE 1 BUICK CALLED US BACK TO SAY GM WOULD NOT ASSIST US AS WE WERE OUTSIDE WARRANTY BY 3,000 MILES AND HAD NO PREVIOUS ISSUES WITH TRANSMISSION (I HAVE FOUND SEVERAL OTHER TRANSMISSION AND POWER LOSS COMPLAINTS I AND THE PREVIOUS OWNERS MADE ON THIS EXACT VEHICLE IN MY RESEARCH INTO THIS...I HAVE KEPT ALL RECORDS!). ROUTE 1 SAID THAT OUR COST WOULD START AT $3,800 WITH NO GUARANTEE THEY WOULDN'T FIND OTHER ISSUES NEEDING TO BE ADDRESSED. THE SAID LUCKY FOR US, OUR VEHICLE HAD AN OPEN RECALL ON A SIDE AIR BAG ISSUE THEY COULD FIX. AS WE REALIZED WE MUST PAY OUT-OF-POCKET AND COULDN'T AFFORD $3,800, WE PAID THEM THE $120 FOR DIAGNOSIS AND TOWED IT (AT OUR EXPENSE) TO DUN-RITE TRANSMISSION IN FREDERICKSBURG, VA. DUN-RITE FOUND IT HAD A BROKEN WAVE PLATE. THEY REBUILT TRANSMISSION FOR $2,800. UNFORTUNATELY, THE STABILITRAK, TRACTION CONTROL, AND AIR BAG SENSORS ARE ALL ALSO GOING OFF AND CAR HAS HAD 2 OTHER INSTANCES OF LOSING POWER WHEN DRIVING SINCE. WE PURCHASED THE CERTIFIED GM CAR NOV 2012. MY CAR PAYMENT IS $462. PER MO. SINCE THAT TIME WE HAVE SPENT AN ADDITIONAL $6,095 ON REPAIRS AND MAINTENANCE. OUR AVERAGE MONTHLY EXPENSES ARE THEREFORE $801. HELP US! *TR

ABOUT 3 WEEKS PRIOR I NOTICED VERY SUBTLE CLUNK WHEN CHANGING GEARS. THAN OUT OF NO WERE THE CAR STARTED SLIPPING GEARS AT AROUND 40MPH. THE ENGINE WOULD REV HIGH RPM BUT IT WOULDN'T KICK INTO 5TH GEAR. ONLY DID THE IT ONCE. WITHIN 1 DAY IT SLIPPED EVERY TIME 5TH GEAR WAS ENGAGING, WITHIN 2 DAY OF THAT 3RD GEAR WAS SLIPPING EVERY TIME. BROUGHT IT TO AAMCO AND WAS INFORMED OF A R/3/5 WAVE PLATE CLUTCH DISC TSB WITH THIS MODEL TRANSMISSION. TRANSMISSION NEEDS A REBUILT TO THE TUNE OF $2000-2500. PATHETIC THAT A $45K VEHICLE CANT EVEN MAKE TO 100K MILES. WHO SAYS CHINA MAKES ALL THE CRAP? GM MUST EMPLOYEE THE CHINESE. *TR
AIR CONDITIONING IS LEAKING DUE TO POWER STEERING HOSE COLLAR RUBBING AND VIBRATING. SEVERAL PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR SINCE PURCHASE INCLUDING REBUILT TRANSMISSION, ETC. DESIGN FLAW AND LEMON. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE ENGINE POWER REDUCED WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE ENGINE STALLED. THE CONTACT MANAGED TO MERGE TO THE EMERGENCY LANE. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE KEY WAS HARD TO EJECT FROM THE IGNITION. THE VEHICLE RESTARTED AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS. THE FAILURE RECURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THERE WAS BROKEN SOLENOID INSIDE OF THE TRANSMISSION AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.

HAVE AN 2008 ENCLAVE AT 73, 300 MILES AND SUDDENLY IT FEELS LIKE THE TRANSMISSION IS STALLING OR STICKING. WON'T REVERSE AND THE TRANSMISSION ENGINE LIGHT IS ON. THE ENGINEER WAS SHAKING AND NOISE. *TR
DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE VEHICLE STARTS REVVING. TRANSMISSIONS SLIPS AND THEN HOES OUT. VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE
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
WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A STOP THROUGH AN INTERSECTION, THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND THE VEHICLE COASTED TO A STOP BLOCKING TRAFFIC. AFTER TURNING THE KEY OFF AND THEN STARTING THE CAR, MY WIFE WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR TO MOVE AT A CRAWL 15FT AT A TIME. AFTER DOING THIS SEVERAL TIMES SHE WAS ABLE TO PARK THE CAR SAFELY OFF OF THE ROAD. WE HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE GM DEALERSHIP AND THEY DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS A R, 3,5 WAVE PLATE FAILURE. THE DEALERSHIP HAS RECOMMENDED A NEW TRANSMISSION AT A COST OF $4,400. AFTER SOME RESEARCH I HAVE FOUND THIS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE 6T75 TRANSMISSION ACROSS THE ENTIRE GM LINE OF VEHICLES MANUFACTURED IN LATE 2007. IN 2014 OUR ENCLAVE BEGAN HAVING A POPPING NOISE IN THE AUDIO SYSTEM. ALL SOUNDS, RADIO, DVD, TURN SIGNALS, WARNING CHIMES, STOPPED WORKING. AFTER THE VEHICLE SAT FOR A TIME THE AUDIO WOULD WORK AGAIN. IT HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES WITH THE LAST TIME OCCURRING MAY 5, 2015. ON MAY 5, 2015 THE AUDIO STARTED MAKING A LOUD, EAR PIERCING POPPING NOISE WHICH ALMOST CAUSED THE DRIVER TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. MY TWO YOUNG CHILDREN WERE ALSO IN THE VEHICLE RIGHT NEXT TO THE REAR SPEAKERS. THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THE NOISE WAS TO PULL THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF A BUSY HIGHWAY, TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND OPEN THE DRIVER DOOR. (TO TURN THE POWER TO THE RADIO OFF) THE AUDIO HAS NOT RETURNED THIS TIME. THIS IS HAPPENING TO MOST 2008 ENCLAVES AT AROUND 70-75K MILES. BUICK REFUSES TO ASSIST AS USUAL. WITHOUT THE AUDIO SYSTEM WORKING, ALL WARNING CHIMES ARE SILENT. CHECK ENGINE, SEAT BELT, TIRE PRESSURE, AIRBAG, REAR PARK ASSIST. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE!
LOST POWER STEERING. VEHICLE IS DIFFICULT TO TURN AT LOW SPEEDS. DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS THE AXLES. I REPLACED THEM BUT THE PROBLEM WAS NOT FIXED. MANEUVERING IN PARKING LOTS IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE AND DRIVING AROUND CURVES IS NERVE-RACKING BECAUSE THE WHEEL WANTS TO JERK TO THE SIDE, ALMOST FORCING ME UNTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. ALL MY TIRES KEEP GETTING LOW AND CHECK LIGHT ENGINE KEEPS SHOWING LOW TIRE PRESSURE. I TOOK IT IN TO THREE DIFFERENT TIRE PLACES THEY DONT KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. IM CONSTANTLY AIRING MY TIRES EVERYDAY FROM SUMMER THROUGHOUT WINTER AND ITS EXHAUSTING.
I KEEP PUTTING NEW LIGHT BULB ON DRIVER SIDE BREAK LIGHTS NOT WORKING BLINKERS NOT WORKING. I PUT NEW FUSE IN NOT WORKING. THEN SOME DAYS IT WORKS BUT MOST DAYS DONT WORK.
THE POWER STEERING LINES AS WELL AS THE TRANSMISSION COOLER LINES HAVE DEFECTIVE CRIMPS WHERE THE RUBBER PORTION OF THE HOSE MATES WITH THE METAL PORTION. THIS CAUSES LEAKING POWER STEERING AND TRANSMISSION FLUID THAT COULD POTENTIALLY LEAK ONTO HOT EXHAUST AND START A FIRE. OR THESE LINES COULD BURST AND CAUSE RAPID LOSS OF FLUID CAUSING VEHICLE CONTROL ISSUES. *TR

WAS TOLD BY MECHANIC THAT ITS THE 35R WAVE CLUTCH PLATE. THERE IS A SERVICE BULLETIN ON THIS VEHICLE AND OTHER MODELS LIKE IT SUCH AS THE ACADIA. COST WILL BE UPWARDS OF $3500 TO REPLACE AND THE VEHICLE BARELY HAS ANY MILES ON IT! WHY HAS THIS PROBLEM NOT BE TAKEN CARE OF....???? IT IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE TIMING CHAIN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 94,000.
CAR LOST ALL FORWARD MOTION WITH NO WARNING. DIAGNOSIS: TRANSMISSION GONE. I WAS ON A NARROW 2 LANE ROADWAY AND WAS STUCK ON A CURVE. A SITTING DUCK. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER TO SIDE A BIT BUT STILL IN HARMS WAY. NO INDICATION OF ANY KIND THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM PRIOR TO INCIDENT. 12 HOURS PRIOR AT 11 PM AT NIGHT, I WAS TRAVELING IN THE TUNNEL UNDER BOSTON. THANK GOD IT DIDN'T GO THEN. THE CAR WAS 9 MONTHS OUT OF DEALER 5 YEAR / $100,000 WARRANTY. ALSO HAD TO REPAIR STEER GEAR BUSHINGS FOR $350 (WHICH I SEE ON THIS SITE HAS BEEN A PROBLEM FOR MANY OTHERS). THESE SEEM TO BE DEFECTIVE PARTS, THAT PUT ME IN DANGER. *TR
I JUST HAD MY TRANSMISSION REPAIRED, COST ME MY SAVINGS, AND A KNOWN ISSUE WITH MANY OWNERS. NOW THE POWER STEERING IS CAPUT. I STARTED FROM PARK AND SHIFTED TO DRIVE. AS SOON AS I GENTLY STEPPED ON THE GAS TO ACCELERATE THERE WAS A JOLT AND LOUD NOISE. IT SHIFTED ROUGH BASICALLY. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON IMMEDIATELY. I STOPPED AND LOOKED UNDER THE CAR AND HOOD FOR ANY SIGNS OF DAMAGE OR LEAKING FLUID AND FOUND NONE. I THEN DECIDED TO STOP AT THE FIRST AUTO PART STORE I FOUND TO GET THE CODE READ FOR THE WARNING LIGHT. THE CODES READ P0717, P0716, P0700, P0756. THE TECH TOLD ME THAT THIS INDICATED ONE OF THREE PROBLEMS ALL DEALING WITH THE TRANSMISSION. SO I DECIDED TO DRIVE HOME AND FIGURE OUT WHAT TO DO. AS I STARTED TO DRIVE IT FAILED TO SHIFT FROM FIRST GEAR. SO I ENDED UP DRIVING SLOW DUE TO THE CAR BEING IN FIRST GEAR. THEN SUDDENLY THE CAR ACTED AS IF IT WAS IN NEUTRAL, NOT ALLOWING ME TO GO FORWARD OR REVERSE. SO I COASTED TO A STOP AND HAD THE VEHICLE GET PUSHED THE REMAINING BLOCK. THE SHOP TELLS ME THAT IT IS SOME KIND OF WAVE PLATE AND REQUIRES A NEW TRANSMISSION AT CLOSE TO AN ESTIMATED $5000. I JUST BOUGHT THIS CAR BECAUSE I RECENTLY HAD A BABY AND HAVE ANOTHER CHILD. I WORK FOR THE MILITARY AND CAN'T AFFORD THIS KIND OF REPAIR 8 MONTHS AFTER I HAD PURCHASED IT. SINCE THIS PROBLEM I HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCH AND THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE JANUARY 2014. SINCE THEN I HAVE HAD MAJOR ISSUES WITH IT LEAKING WHEN IT RAINS,. WATER ENTERS THE SUNROOF AND DRIPS THROUGHOUT THE VEHICLES OVERHEAD AS WELL AS SOAKS THE PASSENGER SIDE CARPET. WATER DRIPS FROM THE VISOR, THE OVERHEAD LIGHTS (WHICH COULD RESULT IN AN ELECTRICAL FIRE) IN THE FRONT MIDDLE AND BACK OF THE VEHICLE IT SEEPS THROUGH THE SEAT BELT HEIGHT ADJUSTERS AND THE AREA WHERE THE SIDE AIRBAGS DEPLOY (WHICH COULD CAUSE DEPLOY ISSUES). THE PROBLEM HAS GOTTEN SO BAD MY VEHICLE IS STARTING TO SMELL LIKE MOLD AND I AM AFRAID THAT AFTER A YEAR OF THIS PROBLEM MOLD HAS GROWN UNDER THE CARPET AS WELL AS IN THE OVERHEAD FOAM. MY BIGGEST CONCERN IS IF MY CHILD IS EXPOSED TO THIS FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME IT WILL FLAIR UP HIS ASTHMA. A CHILD WITH ASTHMA IS VERY SENSITIVE TO MOLD AND MILDEW AND HE IS VERY SENSITIVE AS WELL AS HAS ALLERGIES TO MOLD. ADDITIONALLY, WHEN IT RAINS MY EXHAUST SMOKES AND CAR PUTTS AS IF WATER HAS GOTTEN INTO THE ENGINE/EXHAUST, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS COME ON SEVERAL TIMES WHILE TRAVELING AND NO ONE CAN SEEM TO FIND THE ISSUE, THE CHECK AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON A COUPLE OF MONTHS AFTER THE PURCHASE, AND MY STEERING WHEEL TIGHTENS UP WHEN I TURN AND I HAVE ALREADY HAD THAT TAKEN CARE OF ONCE. AS I WAS DRIVING HOME TODAY THE EMERGENCY BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON AND DINGED ALL THE WAY HOME. WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE FREEWAY AT 70 MPH THE VEHICLE KICKED OUT OF GEAR. ENGINE WAS STILL RUNNING. PULLED TO SHOULDER OF FREEWAY AND COASTED. ONCE THE VEHICLE SLOWED TO APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH IT ENGAGED BACK INTO GEAR. WAS ABLE TO DRIVE BETWEEN 55 AND 60 AT ABOUT 3000 RPM BUT TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT SHIFT TO HIGHER OR LOWER GEARS. TOOK FREEWAY EXIT AND CAME TO STOP. UPON TURNING ONTO ADJACENT ROAD THE VEHICLE ONLY USED 2 GEARS TO REACH A SPEED OF 55 MPH, SHIFTING FROM A LOW GEAR TO A HIGH GEAR AT 4000 RPM. *TR

AS WE WERE DRIVING AROUND A DARK CURVE ON A WELL TRAVELED COUNTRY ROAD, THE CAR QUIT PULLING, THE BATTERY DIED, AND THE CAR WOULD NOT SHIFT. WE WERE UNABLE TO MOVE THE CAR AND WERE IN THE DARK. I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK AND SLOWED DOWN TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT IN FRONT OF ME. WHEN I ACCELERATED, THE CAR WOULD NOT GO FASTER THAN 40 MPH.
