We have been waiting over 6 months for an airbag repair due to the recall but no remedy is available. We have been warned that this could cause injury or death but nothing seems to be happening. I have been notified that my car is recalled. According to your website, long-term heat and humidity makes the airbag more likely to explode. GM as yet is refusing to offer alternative transportation - as recommended by your policies except for brand new cars under 50,000 miles. Yet, by your research, it is older cars that are more at risk. I need transportation for my family and all other manufacturers, along with your agency, are stating do not drive these vehicles, and we are not getting any reasonable response from GM. I appreciate your help in dealing with this issue.

I don’t know if this is the correct form but - My vehicle has been recalled for a serious safety risk and Buick will not provide a replacement vehicle or pay for a rental while my car is not drivable. They are telling me there is nothing they will do while I am waiting indefinitely for the fix. This is a serious safety and financial burden to me and my family. This is our only vehicle.

GM Recall N232404980: I was sent a letter in June 2023 about this recall, which stated parts were not currently available to replace the airbag. The letter states that GM will contact me when the part becomes available. On May 8, 2024 I called my local GM dealer to ask about the status of this recall. The dealer said they would have to special order the part and would notify me when it was available. The dealer never notified me and on May 28, 2024 I called the dealer, they checked, and the part had come into the dealership. Today I had the new airbag installed at the dealership. Had I not followed up on this recall I may never have been notifed that the replacement was available. This is totally unaccepable and GM should be held responsible.
This recall has been an issue since the middle of last year. I have called Buick several times and I am still being told that, "there is no remedy". It is unsafe for me to drive my children around in a vehicle with an airbag issue. This is serious and I would think a recall that can cause serious injury or death would have been taken care of already.

The drivers airbag being recalled is terrifying. I am currently 9 months pregnant and waiting for the recalled part to be declared is the last thing I need to think about right now. The fact that it could deploy at any moment and spew metal parts is unacceptable and should be declared by now. I am not comfortable driving this by myself and soon I’ll have a new born with me. GM is very disappointing and I wouldn’t be surprised if lawsuits were filed. It’s been almost a month since the recall was announced.

I started my car at a CVS parking lot. When I made a turn, the car was out of control and I couldn't stop or turn the car. My car hit other three cars in the parking lot and finally stopped. The OBD-II code check later indicated a "Engine misfire detected". I once got a recall letter from GM for the following issue. Not sure if this accident is related to this issue. "Inoperative purge solenoid that could lead to excessive fuel vapors entering the combustion chamber from the fuel tank. This condition could result in no start, idle stall and possible drivability issues such as hesitation." The good thing is nobody got hurt in this accident.
There is a recall in place and the manufacturer had not remedied this. The recall has been in place since May. If the airbag ruptures, me and my kids could die do to the metal fragments. They are not even offering rental cars or reimbursement. This is unacceptable.
