The car only has 54700 I am orginal owner. Drivers seat does not work, Catalytic converter, GM Service Bulletin #43210. Ask if your VIN is affected or if they’ve seen similar failures in 2014 models. This car is a lemon.
Coolant leak and cover gasket failure. Buick has been in the shop multiple times for coolant issues and leaks. Next step is for the shop to remove the entire front end to adequately repair. Constant issue and other complaint relay the same
The contact owns a 2014 Buick Encore. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the instrument cluster displayed a black screen. In addition, the low air pressure warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic; however, the failure was not duplicated. The contact was stopped by the Police due to the taillight on the driver’s side being inoperable. The bulb was checked, and the bulb was not blown. The contact stated that the vehicle lost motive power. The vehicle was started; however, the failure was persistent. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 88,000.
On March 18 , 2025 I purchased a 2014 Buick Encore with an implied warranty, the vehicle had 128,644 miles on the odometer. At the time of purchase the check light was not on and the vehicle had no visible or audible mechanical issues. Not 14 days after purchase there was a strong odor of burning oil due to an oil leak dripping into the splash shield. A certified mechanic advised me that the problem was a very common issue with the 2014 Buick Encore and the oil cooler associated with the turbo charger needed to be replaced. This issue is so common that the NHTSA issued a GM part failure warning for the 2017 model and instructed GM to reimburse all vehicle owners to replace the part (N232395330). This issue clearly a problem that needs to be addressed with the 2014 model as well. My mechanic said that auto dealers are cleaning the splash pad prior to selling the vehicle so that the burning oil smell is not noticeable until 14 days or so after purchase. The repairs cost me $1148.00 just weeks after purchasing the vehicle. This problem of dealers covering up the problem and faulty GM parts needs to be addressed. I believe my vehicle falls under the previous GM parts needs failure warning and I should be reimbursed the cost of the repairs in the amount of $1148.00.
The contact owns a 2014 Buick Encore. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 MPH, the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact had the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle and replaced the 02 sensor. The vehicle was repaired; however, the check engine warning light became illuminated again. The contact had the vehicle towed to another mechanic, who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the catalytic converter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred, and the vehicle was towed to another mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that a cylinder in the engine failed, and the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact informed the manufacturer of the failure but received no assistance in repairing the vehicle. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.
On two occasions, there was a loss of steering assist while making a 90 degree right turn at an intersection. After forcing the steering wheel back straight, steering assist resumed. The vehicle can be made available for inspection. No warning lamps illuminated. Contacted Buick customer assistance. 2015 Buick Encore has a recall for loss of steering assist, but 2014 model is not included.
My 2014 Buick encore at random times when I turn the key to start the vehicle it just clicks once then complete power out even though the battery is fully charged. To deal with the issue I need to open the hood, unplug the negative from the battery and reconnect it. Then try again. I do this at least once every week, sometimes multiple times throughout a single day. It also does it when a new battery is used. Ive also has a mechanic inspect the vehicle and was so frustrated that everything seems okay but just couldnt figure out why the vehicle don't start. 12 hours of searching for the source of the problem , After giving up on the vehicle I turn the key and it turned on. Other time the vehicle will turn off when already driving. I need this problem fixed. I honestly regret financing this vehicle in January 2024. I was dealing with this problem since May 2024. 73000miles when I bought the vehicle and now at 84000mile. Half of the year 2024 it's been repeat problems with this vehicle. This vehicle should have been a lemon.
My antitheft alarm keeps going off and on. Yesterday my info screen went black had no back up cameras no way to control any of the car panel instruments. That was 1-26-24. Sometimes the info screen will blink off and on as I’m driving. It acts like there’s a short or something somewhere. My door locks do not always respond sometimes the doors unlock themselves. That has been going on for the last year. (2023)

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who informed the contact that the water outlet and radiator needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. While driving at an unknown speed, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was taken back to the mechanic and the contact was informed that the failure was due to the turbo charger. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 104,000.
The contact owns a 2014 Buick Encore. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the engine revved loudly, but the vehicle hesitated to accelerate. The check engine warning light was illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle shuddered during start-up. The contact also stated that the vehicle shuddered while coming to a stop, then lost motive power. The vehicle was taken to AutoZone Auto Parts, where the diagnostic code P0420 was retrieved, and it was determined that the rear catalytic converter and the oxygen sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not made aware of the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 93,000.
CONSTANT airflow problems. Turbo on engine already gone out, engine light and air flow codes constantly.
My engine light came on 4 days prior. Took to repair shop and code showed PO OB6. I was informed there is a small pinhole leak of antifreeze by the Head Gasket at the block. There is only 63k mileage on this vehicle and if I had blown this gasket I could have put me at risk or others had this blown a gasket. I just cant believe this is happening since there is not much mileage on this vehicle. Please research.
During lane departure the size of the rear view mirrors do not display a vehicle in an adjacent lane until it’s too late. However, although the lane departure does notify the driver with a flashing light in the mirror the flashing light is easily missed. An audible warning would be more effective when the turn signal is activated. I departed my lane nearly colliding with an unseen vehicle.
Arked my car started back up power steering malfunctioned. Took to dealer they said gears striped on electronic assist. Front axle needs to be replaced a d there are no parts available unknown when any will be. It has been sitting at the dealer since. Lafontaine of highland mi.
I pulled out of a gas station and about 1 mile down the road my car all of a sudden would not accelerate; it was stuck at a maximum of 35mph. The transmission/check engine light did not go on for at least another mile until I was able to pull off the side of the road. Car was towed to a local AAMCO where it was determined that entire transmission failed with no warning whatsoever.

The contact stated that while in idle traffic going onto the express way when they were suddenly hit in the rear of the vehicle when the seat belts failed to restrain the contact from going forward. The contact stated there was no air bag deployment. The vehicle was towed and deemed totaled. The contact received injuries to their shoulders, neck and chest that required medical attention. A police report was filed. The contact had not spoken with the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.
The contact owns a 2014 Buick Encore. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle was hesitant to accelerate and lost power while on an incline. Traction and engine warning light was illuminated The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The contact was informed that the failure was due to the thermostat heater control circuit and a faulty catalytic converter. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure and determined that the VIN was not included in a recall. The failure mileage was approximately 61,009
The contact owns a 2014 Buick Encore. The contact stated that twice while her son was driving the vehicle at various speeds, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled. The contact was uncertain if any warning lights had illuminated. After the most recent failure, the vehicle had become inoperable and failed to restart after multiple attempts. The vehicle had been towed to an independent mechanic and a dealer however, the cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not under recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.
I WAS DRIVING ON A 70MPH HIGHWAY. WENT TO PASS SLOWER VEHICLE. THE CAR DID NOT REACT TO THE ACCELERATOR. IN FACT IT SLOWED DOWN WITH THE ENGINE TRYING TO REV UP. LUCKILY, THERE WERE NO OTHER VEHICLES TRYING TO PASS AT THE SAME TIME BECAUSE I HAD TO DROP BACK. CAR IS CURRENTLY AT A BUICK DEALERSHIP FOR ENGINE PROPULSION REPAIR. DO NOT HAVE COMPLETE ESTIMATE FOR REPAIR YET. WAS TOLD COULD BE APPROX $2300. ONE YEAR EARLIER, AT 50000 MILES HAD SIMILAR ACCELERATION PROBLEMS BECAUSE OF CATALYST CONVERTER. THE CATALYST CONVERTER WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY.
MY VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON THE HIGHWAY AT AN APPROXIMATE SPEED OF 65MPH AND SUDDENLY I HEARD A STRANGE POP. MY CAR IMMEDIATELY WENT INTO LIMP MODE CAUSING MY SPEED TO DROP TO 25MPH ON A MODERATELY CROWDED INTERSTATE HIGHWAY. DUE TO THE DANGEROUS NATURE OF THIS ISSUE, I DROVE ON THE SHOULDER TO THE CLOSEST EXIT AND DROVE THE CAR TO THE CLOSEST DEALERSHIP. 6 DIFFERENT TROUBLE CODES WERE PULLED ON THE VEHICLE. I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE LESS THAN 6 MONTHS AGO ALONG WITH A GMPP EXTENDED WARRANTY. FOR TWO WEEKS, THE WARRANTY COULD NOT BE FOUND AND I WAS CALLING NUMEROUS WARRANTY COMPANIES TRYING TO FIND OUT WHAT OCCURRED WITH MY WARRANTY. AFTER THE 2 WEEKS OF CALLS AND CONFUSION, THE DEALERSHIP STATED THAT THEY WOULD COVER THE PCV VALVE ISSUE THAT THEY HAD DIAGNOSED TO BE THE PROBLEM. THE DEALERSHIP NEVER STATED THAT THE PCV VALVE MALFUNCTION WAS IN FACT A "SPECIAL ADDED PROTECTION ISSUE" PUT OUT BY GM IN AUGUST. I FINALLY RECEIVED MY VEHICLE BACK TWO DAYS AGO AND THE CAR IS STILL NOT WORKING AS IT WAS BEFORE THIS REPAIR. IT IS IDLING HARD AND AT HIGH RPM AND ALSO HESITATING DURING ACCELERATION.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER BOHN BUICK GMC LOCATED AT 3815 LAPALCO BLVD, HARVEY, LA 70058, (504) 347-4070, WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH NEEDING THE PURGE VALVE, INTAKE MANIFOLD, VALVE COVER WITH PVC SYSTEM AND HOSE TO BE REPLACED AND THE PCM-R TO BE UPDATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND THE REPAIRS WERE COMPLETED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 66,100.
SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT (PO420 CODE) CAME ON AND VEHICLE BEGIN TO VIBRATE AT START UP ESPECIALLY. TEMP GAUGE SHOWED OVERHEATING WITH NO SIGNS OF OVERHEATING. THERMOSTAT HOUSING REPLACED. SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN AFTER REPAIR. MECHANIC SHOP REPLACED CONVERTER THAT WAS FAULTY (PO420 CODE) A WEEK LATER. SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON (PO 420 CODE) (171 CODE) MECHANIC SHOP REPLACED CATALYTIC CONVERTER, R&R FRONT. , LEFT SHOP THAT DAY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. REPLACE CATALYTIC SENSOR, NEXT DAY SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. REPLACE OXYGEN REGULATOR PART AND VALVE COIL, (SAME CODES EVERYTIME), THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN 2 DAYS LATER. I HAVE SPENT OVER $1300.00 AND STILL HAVE THE ENGINE SERVICE LIGHT ON. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING VEHICLE DURING THIS TIME.I HAVE INVOICES FOR THE REPAIRS.
IF THE VEHICLE DETECTS A TURBO UNDER BOOST CONDITION, ENGINE POWER IS IMMEDIATELY REDUCED (LIMP MODE) WITH NO INDICATOR LIGHT OR WARNING TO THE DRIVER. THIS HAPPENED ON A MOUNTAIN HIGHWAY, I DID NOT KNOW THE VEHICLE WAS IN LIMP MODE AND AS I ACCELERATED INTO TRAFFIC I WAS ALMOST HIT BY A TRUCK FROM BEHIND. I LEARNED THROUGH EXPERIENCE, IF NO TURBO BOOST ERROR OCCURS DURING THE NEXT DRIVE CYCLE, (IE COMING HOME DOWN THE MOUNTAIN ROAD) THE PENDING CODE IS CLEARED AND THE SAME CONDITION CAN HAPPEN AGAIN, AGAIN WITHOUT SETTING A CEL.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
WHILE DRIVING MY CAR ON MARCH 26, 2020, MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I TOOK MY CAR TO KELLER'S PROFESSIONAL AUTO, WHO DETECTED THAT MY TURBO HAD A CRACK ALL THE WAY ACROSS, SO I HAD TO REPLACE IT. I ONLY HAD 45,352 MILES ON MY CAR. ACCORDING TO KELLER'S AND MY RESEARCH, THE TURBO SHOULD LAST FOR 100,000 TO 150,000 MILES.

THE CONTACT TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE SHOOK VIOLENTLY WHILE DRIVING TO HER RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TURBO CHARGER WASTE GATE WAS CRACKED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE TURBO CHARGER WAS REPLACED AND THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 71,350. *LN *JS*DT*JB
WHEN START UP, AC AUTOMATICALLY STARTS AND COMPRESSOR SOUNDS LIKE LOUD DRAGGING NOISE AND NO COLD AIR COMES OUT!! THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES SINCE PURCHASED ON 1/18/2018.
During the past 3 years I have had to replace the battery 3 times, my daytime running lamps keep turning off, I have had to replace the ignition coil and now my car has been at the dealership for a week because there is an electrical problem they cannot figure out. The chassis control module was replaced but did not fix the problem. My personal mechanic advised the TCM was coding, but dealership said no. I am beyond frustrated! These problems started around 60000 miles and now it has 83000 miles on it and can't be driven. If GM knew about the issues (as found in multiple articles on line) why didn't they disclose?
THE LOWER PORTION OF THE WINDSHIELD FOGS ON THE CENTER AND PASSENGER SIDE AT THE START OF THE ENGINE THEN BECOMES A FULL WINDSHIELD FOG WHEN I TURN ON THE DEFOG AND FAN _ COMPLETELY OBSTRUCTING VISION. THIS HAS HAPPENED WHEN THE CAR IS STATIONARY OR BEING DRIVN. CURRENTLY, IT IS AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE 2ND TIME REQUESTING REPAIRS. THE EVENT IS RECURRING.
CAMSHAFT COVER FAILED PCV SYSTEM HAD COVER REPLACED AT 50,000 MILES UNDER POWER TRAIN WARRANTY ENGINE LIGHT COMES VEHICLE STALLS AT STOP LIGHT THIS HAPPENED AGAIN AT 80,000 MILES THIS TIME BECAUSE OF CAUSING TO MUCH VACUM HAD TO REPLACE INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKET SO IT IS MY THOUGHT MAYBE BUICK SHOULD PUT THIS CAMSHAFT COVER WITH PCV SYSTEM ON RECALL SAME PART FAILED AGAIN.
TURBO HAS UNDERBOOST, CAR RUNS FINE OTHER THAN LOSING POWER, ALL FLUIDS LOOK GOOD
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2014 BUICK ENCORE. WHILE DRIVING ON A CURVED RESIDENTIAL ROAD, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE FRONT DRIVER'S DOOR, TIRE, BUMPER, AND HOOD OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE IMPACT PUSHED THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE ONTO THE LAWN. THE CONTACT SUFFERED INJURIES TO THE RIGHT HIP THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V651000 (AIR BAG, SEAT BELTS). THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: [XXX]. POLICE REPORT NUMBER: [XXX] WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,000. CRACKED VALVE COVER FIRST OCCURRENCE WAS AUGUST OF 2017. THIS WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. SECOND OCCURRENCE HAPPENED JANUARY 6,2019. THIS OCCURRENCE CAUSED MULTIPLE FAILURES AND COST ME $727 TO HAVE REPAIRED. SYMPTOMS WERE NOTICEABLE OFF SHIFT POINTS DUE TO LACK OF POWER AND TOO MUCH AIR TO TURBO . ALSO A SURVIVING OF THE ENGINE WHEN GOING UP STEEP HILLS . THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AS BOTH TIMES THE DEALER KNEW WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS AND HAD PARTS ON HAND TO FIX . I TOOK VIDEO OF BOTH TIMES FOR MY RECORDS.
EXPERIENCING OIL BLOW BY IN CYLINDER BLOCK AND CATYLIC CONVERTER FAILURE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 BUICK ENCORE. WHEN THE CONTACT TURNED OFF HER VEHICLE, THE COOLING FAN KEPT RUNNING AND CAUSED THE BATTERY TO DIE. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TO RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER (ALLEN TILLERY AUTO, 4573 CENTRAL AVE, HOT SPRINGS, AR 71913, 501-881-4160) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE COOLING FAN RELAY WAS FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND THERE WERE NO RECALLS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 62,374.
ON 5/26/18 I TEST DROVE A USED 2014 BUICK ENCORE AT GULF COAST CHEVROLET BUICK IN ANGLETON TX. I LIKED THE CAR BUT NOTICED IT IDLED A LITTLE. I SPOKE WITH THE SALES ASSOCIATE AND THE SERVICE TECH AND THEY BOTH SAID THAT WAS NORMAL FOR THE CAR. I DECIDED TO PROCEED AND PURCHASE THE VEHICLE. SINCE THEN I HAVE HAD MULTIPLE ISSUES WITH THE CAR, INCLUDING THE ROUGH IDLE GETTING WORSE. SINCE MAY 26 2018 MY CAR HAS BEEN BACK AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS 4 TIMES. EACH OF THOSE TIMES I REQUESTED FOR THE ROUGH IDLE TO BE LOOKED FURTHER INTO ALONG WITH THE OTHER ISSUES IT WAS HAVING. THIS LAST TIME I TOOK IT IN ON 07/30/18 DUE TO A SERVICE LIGHT COMING ON BATTERY SAVER ACTIVE, I TOLD THEM FOR A SECOND TIME THERE WAS STILL A CHIRPING NOISE UNDER THE HOOD AND TOLD THEM AGAIN IT HAS A ROUGH IDLE THAT SEEMS WORSE. THAT WHILE IN PARK AND WHILE SITTING AT A STOP LIGHT OR STOP SIGN WITH MY FOOT ON THE BREAK ITS ROUGH/SHAKEY FEELING. AND WHEN SITTING AT STOP LIGHTS IT ALSO WILL SPUTTER WHILE SITTING THERE IN GEAR. THEY TOLD ME, THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE SERVICE CODE AND THEY DIDN'T EVEN SEE IT, THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE SPUTTERING, BUT IT DID NEED A NEW CAMSHAFT SEAL. THAT THE BLOWN SEAL WAS CAUSING IT TO CHIRP AND REPAIRING IT PROBABLY FIXED THE ROUGH IDLE. IT DID NOT FIX THE ROUGH IDLE! I SPOKE WITH SERVICE MANAGER AND THE GENERAL MANAGER ON 08/07/18 AFTER SERVICE CALLED ON 8/5/18 SAYING THEY COULDN'T DUPLICATE ALL THE ISSUES I EXPLAINED. SERVICE MANGER SAID THEY COULD NOT GET IT TO DUPLICATE THE ROUGH IDLE AND SPUTTERING. THE GENERAL MANAGER TEST DROP MY CAR AND THEN GAVE MY KEY BACK SAYING YOUR CAR IS READY IT RUNS FINE. AS I GO TO LEAVE THE DEALERSHIP IT DOES THE ISSUE AGAIN. I DRIVE IT OVER TO SERVICE TO GET THEM TO SIT IN IT AND FEEL WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT. HE DOES AND SAYS HE FEELS IT, BUT ITS PROBABLY JUST THE AC AND HANDS ME THE KEY BACK.
BATTERY WEST EVEN A YEAR OLD AND IT WENT OUT. DEAD. COOLANT WAS LEAKING. BUT WASN'T LEAKING AT FIRST. I BELIEVE THEY DAMAGED IT. WHEN WE TOOK IT FOR CHECK UP THE SAME WARRANTY WAS GOING OUT AND THEY SAID WE WILL MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS WORKING. THEY JUST HALF FIX EVERY THING AND GOT THE MONEY. A FAULTY CLOCK SPRING ASSEMBLY PREVENTS THE AIR BAG SYSTEM FROM FUNCTIONING PROPERLY WHICH POSES A MAJOR SAFETY RISK. AIR BAG LIGHT COMES ON WHEN DRIVING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 BUICK ENCORE. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE RPMS RANDOMLY INCREASED AND THE ENGINE SURGED. THE VEHICLE HESITATED TO ACCELERATE AND THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO COURTESY BUICK (1857 EDWARDS LAKE RD, BIRMINGHAM, AL) IN 2017 AND THE CRACKED VALVE COVER SEAL WAS REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE EVENTUALLY RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HOWARD BENTLEY BUICK GMC (4321 US HWY 43, ALBERTVILLE, AL) AND THE INTAKE MANIFOLD SEAL WAS REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
DEAT BATTERY I'VE HAD THIS CAR FOR SIX WEEKS AND HAVE HAD TRIPLE A OUT THREE TIMES TO JUMP ME. ONCE IT STARTS THE BATTERY RECHARGES ITS-SELF. THEY ALSO TESTED THE ALTERNATOR TOO AND ITS TESTING FINE. THIS CAR HAS LESS THAN 15,000 MILES AND I AM THE 3RD OWNER. LAST WEEK TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME IT CHECKS OUT FINE. THE CAR SITS MORE THAN 3 DAYS WILL NOT START. YES, THREE DAYS!!!! THERE IS SOMETHING THAT RUNS IN THE BACK GROUND OF THIS CAR THAT IS ZAPPING THE BATTERY. I CAN TELL YOU AFTER SHUTTING THE CAR OFF AND REMOVING THE KEY AND HOURS LATER YOU CAN GO TO YOUR CAR AND TURN ON THE RADIO WITHOUT USING A KEY. I FEEL THIS ISSUE IS CONNECTED TO THE SYSTEM DISPLAY SCREEN WITH THE ONSTAR, RADIO ECT THAT CONTINUES TO RUN IN THE BACK GROUND. HOWEVER, I'M NOT CERTAIN. I'M BEYOND FRUSTRATED.
I TOOK MY VEHICLE INTO THE SERRA DEALERSHIP IN WASHINGTON, MI ON 3/20/17 TO HAVE THE FRONTAL AIRBAG AND PRETENSIONER NON DEPOY SAFETY RECALL (16007) REPAIRED. ON, 6/15/17, I WAS IN A CAR ACCIDENT TRAVELING AT ROUGHLY 50 MPH AND MY AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A FORD F-150 TURNED INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC WITHOUT LOOKING CAUSING THE FRONT OF MY VEHICLE TO CRASH INTO THE SIDE OF HER TRUCK. THE OTHER DRIVER WAS ISSUED THE CITATION FROM THE POLICE. MY BUICK ENCORE IS MOST LIKELY TOTALED (AWAITING CONFIRMATION ON THAT).

SEAT BELT IS HARD TO LOCK AND STICKS WHEN YOU TRY TO ADJUST IT. IT WILL LOCK UP AROUND YOUR NECK. IT WILL LOCKUP IN MOTION OR STANDING STILL. IT HAS BEEN DOING IT SINCE I PURCHASED THE CAR 02/07/2018
MY GIRLFRIENDS 2014 BUICK ENCORE WITH ABOUT 15,000 SUDDENLY HAD THE BRAKE PEDAL GO "SPONGY". TWICE AT INTERSECTIONS WHILE HOLDING THE BRAKE PEDAL DOWN IT WOULD SUDDENLY DROP ABOUT 1/2" LOWER. ALSO WHILE SITTING AT A STOP WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING IT BECAME POSSIBLE TO CONTINUALLY PUSH ON THE BRAKE PEDAL UNTIL IT REACHED THE FLOOR. HER 2014 ENCORE HAS ONLY ABOUT 5000 MILES OF IN TOWN DRIVING WITH THE REST OF THE MILEAGE BEING HIGHWAY. THE LOCAL BUICK DEALER (BACHRODT IN ROCKFORD ILL) NOTICED A SMALL DROP IN THE BRAKE FLUID LEVEL LEVEL, BUT DISMISSED THIS DROP AND THE PEDAL CHANGE TO "NORMAL BRAKE WEAR" AND WOULD DO NOTHING TO FIX THE PROBLEM. UPON TAKING IT TO THE BUICK DEALER (ANTHONY BUICK) IN GURNEE ILL FOR INSPECTION, THAT DEALER FOUND A "LEAKING MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER" AND REPLACED IT UNDER WARRANTY. HAD I NOT "FORCED THE ISSUE" AND TAKEN THE CAR 45MILES AWAY FOR A 2ND OPINION, WE WOULD HAVE BEEN STUCK WITH A CAR DRIVING WITH A LEAKY MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER UNTIL IT FAILED AND CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. IT IS ALSO INTERESTING TO NOTE THAT THE REPLACEMENT "PART NUMBER" OF THE MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER HAS CHANGED FROM WHEN THE CAR WAS NEW IN NOVEMBER OF 2014. A PHOTO OF THE SERVICE RECORD SHOWING THE BRAKE CYLINDER IS ATTACHED.

THE BUICK ENCORE HAS 15,000 MILES ON IT, THE LAST 2,000 MILES OR SO THE ENGINE HESITATES ANY SPEEDS. IT DOES NOT STALL BUT IT KEEPS HESITATING. THE CAR HAS BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP TWICE, THE PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN FIXED
WE HAD OUR 2014 BUICK ENCORE 8 MONTHS AND IT RAN GREAT UNTIL IT SAT IDLE FOR 10 DAYS. THEN, IT FAILED TO START. THE BATTERY WAS DEAD . WE CHARGED THE BATTERY AND TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP WHO REPORTED NOTHING WRONG. THEY ADVISED IF IT HAPPENED AGAIN TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED IN. AFTER SITTING IDLE FOR ABOUT 12 DAYS THE END OF JUNE, SAME PROBLEM. VEHICLE FAILED TO START AND WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP (BY OUR AAA COVERAGE) WHO AGAIN REPORTED NO PROBLEMS. GM AUTHORIZED THE DEALERSHIP TO RELEASE THE VEHICLE TO US WITHOUT FIXING THE PROBLEM. UPON OUR SUGGESTION THAT EVEN THOUGH THE BATTERY TESTED OKAY IT MIGHT BE FAULTY, THE DEALERSHIP AGREED TO PUT IN A USED BATTERY FROM ANOTHER 2014 ENCORE AS GM WOULD NOT AUTHORIZE A NEW BATTERY. AFTER LETTING THE VEHICLE SIT FOR ABOUT 11 DAYS WITH THE USED BATTERY, IT STARTED JUST FINE. NEITHER GM NOR THE DEALERSHIP WILL ACKNOWLEDGE ANY PROBLEM EXISTED WITH THE PREVIOUS BATTERY. I WAS WITHOUT A VEHICLE FOR ABOUT A MONTH WITH NO LOANER. GM HAS BEEN LESS THAN HELPFUL AND, AT ONE POINT, THE DEALERSHIP TOLD US,. "WE CAN'T FIX WHAT WE CAN'T FIND."
