THERE ARE NO INCIDENTS AT THIS TIME OF FOR THIS COMPLAINT, GENERAL MOTORS SHOULD ALSO BE HELD FINANCIALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF HIGH-BEAM BULBS AS THEY WILL BURN OUT AS A RESULT TO NOT HAVING A REMEDY AS OF YET TO REPAIR/REPLACE THE HDM FOR MY VEHICLE AS WELL AS THE OTHER GM OWNERS. I WORK AT NIGHT AND NEED MY HEADLIGHTS TO BE IN PROPER OPERATING ORDER. PLEASE MAKE GM ALSO RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE HIGH-BEAM BULBS ON ALL THE VEHICLES THAT PERTAIN TO THIS "RECALL STATUS: RECALL INCOMPLETE. REMEDY NOT YET AVAILABLE" AN IS UNACCEPTABLE TO THE CONSUMER OF THE AFFECTED 2005 ' 2009 MODEL YEAR BUICK LACROSSE VEHICLES; CERTAIN 2006 ' 2008 SAAB 9-7X AND ISUZU ASCENDER VEHICLES; CERTAIN 2006 ' 2007 BUICK RAINIER, CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER AND GMC ENVOY VEHICLES; CERTAIN 2007 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX VEHICLES; AND CERTAIN 2006 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER EXT AND GMC ENVOY XL VEHICLE OWNERS.

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
WHEN DRIVING HOME FROM A MEETING ABOUT 30 MILES FROM HOME MY HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT. I TRIED TO SWITCH TO MANUAL CONTROL OF THE HEADLIGHTS IT DIDN'T WORK. THE ONLY LIGHT THAT I COULD USE MY THE TEMPORARY BRIGHT LIGHTS WHEN THERE WERE NO OTHER CARS WERE COMING IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. THE FOLLOWING DAY I WENT TO GUSWEILER GM CENTER TO FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENED. THEY SAID IT WAS THE HEADLAMP DRIVER MODULE RELAY. I HAD THEM MAKE THE REPAIR AT A COST OF $160.29.

FOR MONTHS PRIOR AT NIGHT MY LOW BEAMS WOULD DIM AND GET BRIGHTER PERIODICALLY. THEN AS I WAS DRIVING ONE MORNING I BEGAN TO SMELL AN ELECTRICAL BURNING SMELL. LUCKILY I WAS ON MY WAY HOME WHICH WAS LESS THAN A HALF MILE AWAY. WHEN I GOT HOME I OPENED THE HOOD AND SAW SMOKE COMING FROM THE FUSE BOX. I IMMEDIATELY DISCONNECTED THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE AND PROCEEDED TO INVESTIGATE WHAT HAPPENED. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION THE HDM MODULE HAD FAILED AND WAS MELTED RIGHT INTO THE FUSE BLOCK. IF I HAD DRIVEN ANY LONGER THAN I DID I FEEL LIKE MY CAR WOULD HAVE CERTAINLY CAUGHT FIRE. LUCKILY I GOT HOME SAFE AND PREVENTED ANY FURTHER DAMAGE FROM MY CAR.
THE DRIVERS DOOR FAILS TO UNLOCK WITH CAR IN PARK AND IGNITION OFF. AN INTERNET SEARCH INDICATES THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE. THIS ISSUE IS NOT ADDRESSED BY GM.

PREMATURE CORROSION CAUSED REAR STRUT TO FALL OFF AND CUT DRIVER'S SIDE REAR TIRE. REPLACED 1 TIRE, REAR STRUTS, REAR SPRINGS AND REAR SWAY BAR LINKS. MECHANIC SAID THIS FAILURE WAS "UNUSUAL." WHILE SITTING AT RED LIGHT WOULD NOT MOVE ON GREEN, HAD CHECKED COULD NOT FIND PROBLEM. THEN DURING MERGING ONTO HIGHWAY LOST ALL POWER, ALMOST GOT HIT. THEN STARTING SURGING. TO DEALER AGAIN, COULD FIND NO PROBLEM. KEPT ACTING UP, IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION AGAIN. THIS IS THE 2ND REBUILD ON THIS VERY MUCH USED TRANSMISSION MODEL IN GM VEHICLES.
GM SENT OUT A RECALL FOR THE BUICK LACROSSE 2005. THE RECALL WAS TO FIX AN ISSUE THAT CAUSED THE CAR TO SWITCH OFF AT RANDOM WHILE RUNNING CAUSING FOR POTENTIAL CRASH AND LACK OF AIRBAGS TO WORK AND OTHER POSSIBLE HAZARDS. THEY RECOMMENDED THAT WE TAKE ANY THINGS OFF OF THE KEY RING OTHER THAN THE KEY WHEN IN DRIVE. I HAD NEVER EXPERIENCED THE ISSUE OF MY CAR TURNING OFF ON ITS OWN PREVIOUS TO RECEIVING THIS RECALL. BEING PROACTIVE I TOOK MY CAR TO THE WILKINS GMC BUICK DEALERSHIP LOCATED AT 6913 RITCHIE HIGHWAY, GLEN BURNIE, MD 21061 IN ORDER TO HAVE THE RECALL SERVICED. WHILE HAVING THE RECALL FIXED I FOUND OUT FROM A SERVICE WORKER AT THE DEALERSHIP THAT THE RECALL FIX IS ONLY A CHANGE IN THE KEY. ONCE THE RECALL FIX WAS COMPLETED I LEFT AND A WEEK LATER HAD THE ISSUE OF THE CAR TURNING OFF WHILE DRIVING OCCUR. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP TO SEE IF THEY WOULD LIKE TO TAKE A LOOK AT THE KEY TO ENSURE THE FIX WAS PROPERLY DONE, THEY INFORMED ME IT WAS PROPERLY DONE AND NO NEED TO COME IN. I THEN CALLED GM CORPORATE AND WAS TOLD THEY HAVE NO RECALL ON THE IGNITION PART (THE REAL PROBLEM) AND THE KEY SHOULD HAVE FIXED THE ISSUE. I WAS GIVEN NO ASSISTANCE FOR THE TRUE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM AND AM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE LACK OF QUALITY AND QUALITY ASSURANCE FROM THIS COMPANY. MY CAR HAS PROGRESSIVELY GOTTEN WORSE AND NOW WILL BARELY STAY ON WITHOUT THE KEY TURNING TO THE OFF POSITION. I HAVE DONE RESEARCH AND SPOKEN WITH MANY MECHANICS WITH ALL OF THE INFORMATION POINTING TO THE NEED FOR A NEW PROPER RECALL ON THE IGNITION ITSELF AND NOT THE KEY. *TR
