2006 BUICK LACROSSE CXL AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT IS ON AND WILL NOT GO OFF. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BUICK LACROSSE. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE IGNITION AND NOTICED A BURNING ODOR INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 78,246.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BUICK LACROSSE CXL (NA). THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO UNLOCK THE VEHICLE TO ENTER BY USING THE KEY FOB WHEN HE NOTICED THAT THE DOOR REMAINED LOCKED. EVENTUALLY, HE WAS ABLE TO GET IN. HE THEN DROVE ABOUT 100 FEET AND ATTEMPTED TO EXIT THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THAT THE BOTH FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE DOORS REMAINED LOCKED. THE CONTACT WAS FORCED TO EXIT THE VEHICLE BY CLIMBING INTO THE BACK SEAT AND EXITING FROM THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR. BOTH THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. HOWEVER, THEY REPLACED THE DRIVER SIDE MECHANISMS BUT DID NOT HAVE THE PARTS TO REPAIR THE PASSENGER SIDE AND THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING THE PARTS TO ARRIVE. I WAS DRIVING AND HEARD A LOUD POP LOOKED BACK AND REALIZED THERE WAS A HOLE IN MY REAR WINDSHIELD, PULLED OVER TO SEE WHAT HAPPENED THERE WAS NO BRICK ROCK OR ANY OTHER OBJECT IN THE BACK SEAT AND NOTICED THE WINDSHIELD WAS BLOWN OUTWARD AND IT WAS ALMOST DEAD CENTER OF THE WINDSHIELD. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BUICK LACROSSE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH THE STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT BROKE. HE STATED THAT HE HAD NO CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. HE ENGAGED THE BRAKES AND CRASHED INTO A CURB. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. THE DEALER ADVISED HIM THAT THE STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT AND SIR COIL HAD BROKEN ON THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER REPLACED THE INTERMEDIATE SHAFT, SIR COIL AND REALIGNED THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,500 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 41,314.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BUICK LACROSSE. WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED, THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS FAILED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE RELAY SWITCH WAS REPLACED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE RELAY SWITCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V755000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING) HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
DASH MESSAGE LIGHTING BLANKS OUT SPORADICALLY OR GOES VERY DIM DURING DAY LIGHT HOURS. *TR
COMING HOME FROM THE HOSPITAL ON I-65, WITH MY MOTHER THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS SUDDENLY WENT OUT WE MANAGED TO PULL OVER SAFELY BUT SHAKEN UP. AFTER A FEW MINUTES THE LOWBEAMS CAME BACK ON. WE HAVE HAD RECURRING PROBLEMS WITH THIS BUT NEVER KNEW WHEN TO EXPECT IT TO HAPPEN. WE REPLACED THE RELAY AND SOLVED THE PROBLEM TEMPORARILY. THE CAR NOW HAS 96000 MILES AND NO LOW BEAMS. IF GENERAL MOTORS DON'T THINK THIS ISSUE IS SEVERE ENOUGH TO DO A RECALL MAYBE THEY MIGHT RESPOND TO A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT. ONCE I DECIDE TO SELL THIS CAR IT WILL BE THE LAST BUICK I EVER OWN. *TR
IT STARTED WHEN DRIVING ALONG AND THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS WOULD GO OUT, THE ONLY WAY I HAD ANY LIGHTS AT ALL IS ON HIGH BEAM, AND I WOULD CLICK BACK ON LOW BEAM AFTER I PULLED OVER AND THE LOW LIGHTS WOULD COME BACK ON. THIS HAPPENED A FEW TIMES AND NOW I HAVE NO LOW BEAM LIGHTS AT ALL ONLY HIGH BEAM. I HAVE CALLED A LOCAL DEALERSHIP THAT HAS FIXED THE CAR SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE WITH ELECTRICAL ISSUES BECAUSE THE DEALER I BOUGHT IT FROM HAS GONE OUT OF BUSINESS. AND THEY SAID IT IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY AND WILL COST BE APPROXIMATELY $400-$700 WHICH I DO NOT HAVE AND I ALSO SEE OTHER COMPLAINTS ON THIS WEB SITE FOR THE SAME THING. SO TELL ME WHY ISN'T THEIR A RECALL. THIS CAR IS ABSOLUTELY A HAZARD TO HAVE ON THE ROADS. SHE HAS ALMOST GOTTEN ME & MY FAMILY KILLED SEVERAL TIMES, FROM LOSING POWER TO THE HEADLIGHTS GOING OUT ON VERY DARK ROADS I HAVE WRITTEN A LETTER TO GM BEFORE, I GUESS THEY WONT DO ANYTHING UNTIL SOMEONE OR THEIR FAMILY IS KILLED. *TR
I WAS AT LOCAL GET-GO GETTING FOOD THEN I DROVE TO PICK UP MY 2 KIDS AND MY COUSINS SON ALONG WITH AN COUSIN. I PICKED THE KIDS UP IN GARFIELD AND THEM DROVE TO WILKINSBURGH TO DROP MY COUSIN AND HER SON OFF . AS WE DROVE CLOSE TO HER HOME I TURNED ON THE DEFROST BECAUSE THE WHOLE CAR GOT FOGGY. I PARKED AND THEN A LOUD POP AND THE WHOLE BACK GLASS WAS SHATTERED AND STARTED TO FALL OUT. *TR
2006 BUICK LACROSSE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR NOT WORKING. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE USED WITH 60,000 MILES ON IT AND WAS TOLD AT THE TIME THAT THE INDICATOR LIGHT FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG WAS PERIODICALLY DISPLAYING, BUT IT WAS SIMPLY A PROBLEM WITH THE INDICATOR LIGHT. NOW AT 98,000 MILES, I TOOK THE CAR IN WITH A PROBLEM ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY. THEY POINTED OUT TO ME THAT IN ADDITION TO THE SEAT BELT RETRACTOR MALFUNCTIONING, THE SENSOR FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG ISN'T WORKING, WHICH IS WHAT THE LIGHT HAS BEEN INDICATING ALL ALONG. SO WHEN SOMEONE IS IN THE SEAT, IT DOESN'T RELAY THAT INFO TO THE AIRBAG. SO I'VE BEEN DRIVING OVER 30,000 MILES WITH NO WORKING PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. FIXING THE PROBLEM WILL COST NEARLY $1000. WAS THERE ANY RECALL RELATING TO THIS PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE, OR WERE THERE ENOUGH SIMILAR COMPLAINTS TO INITIATE ONE? *TR
A CERTIFIED MECHANIC INSPECTED MY 2006 BUICK LACROSSE LX. HE SAID THAT COMPLETE TIE ROD ASSEMBLY WAS "WORN OUT", AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING WITH A VEHICLE WITH 80,000 MILES ON IT! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BUICK LACROSSE. THE CONTACT STATED WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH WHEN THE AUTOMATIC HEADLIGHTS FAILED. HE THEN SWITCHED TO MANUAL YET THE HEADLIGHTS DID NOT ILLUMINATE. THE LIGHTS HEADLIGHTS ILLUMINATED ONCE THE CONTACT ENGAGED THE HIGH BEAM LIGHTS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER BUT THE DEALER COULD NOT DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE DEALER THEN ADVISED INSTALLING A NEW SENSOR. THE FAILURE WAS REPORTED TO THE MANUFACTURER. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 46,400. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BUICK LACROSSE. THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENTAL PANEL AND REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIRS OR FURTHER DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 28,000.
ABOUT 8:30 PM, I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WITH MY INFANT DAUGHTER, WHO WAS IN A FRONT FACING CARSEAT, MY SON, AND MY HUSBAND WERE PASSENGERS. IT WAS RAINING OUTSIDE AND THE WINDOWS STARTED FOGGING. I TURNED ON THE REAR DEFROSTER AND ABOUT 30 SECONDS LATER, THERE WAS A LOUD BANG! I THOUGHT SOMEONE THREW SOMETHING AT MY CAR OR SHOT OUT THE WINDOW. THERE IS A BLOCK OF WINDOW WHERE THE DEFROSTER IS SMASHED OUT AND THE REST OF THE WINDOW WAS SHATTERED!! IT IS EVIDENT THAT THE REAR DEFROSTER CAUSED THE WINDOW TO SHATTER. I HAVE CONTACTED BUICK AND FOUND THAT THERE IS ONLY A 36,000 OR 4 YEAR BUMPER TO BUMPER LIMITED WARRANTY. MY CAR IS A 2006 BUICK LACROSSE WITH OVER 100,000 MILES. I AM OUTRAGED THAT THIS HAPPENED. THERE ARE NO WARNING SIGNS, NO SMELLS, NO NOTHING TO WARN YOU THAT SOMETHING LIKE THIS COULD HAPPEN. IF I WASN'T ALERT, I COULD HAVE CRASHED INTO A VEHICLE ON THE SIDE OF ME. THANK GOD MY BABY WASN'T IN A REAR FACING CARSEAT PREVENTING GLASS FROM INJURING HER OR MY SON. NOW I HAVE A SHATTERED REAR WINDOW ON MY ONLY VEHICLE. I HAVEN'T FULL COVERAGE INSURANCE NOR THE MONEY TO REPLACE THE WINDOW. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF ANY OTHER BUICKS HAVE THIS PROBLEM AND WHY I WOULDN'T BE NOTIFIED OF THIS TERRIFYING PROBLEM. *TR
AIR BAG WILL SOMETIMES REGISTER WHEN MY CHILDREN ARE IN THE FRONT SEAT AND SOMETIMES IT DOES NOT. IT IS SUPPOSE TO AUTOMATICALLY DETECT THEIR WEIGHT AND COME ON OR NOT DEPENDING ON HOW MUCH THEY WEIGH. THE FACT THAT IT REGISTERS SOMETIMES AND DOES NOT AT OTHERS HAS ME CONCERNED. I SAW A RECALL ON THIS MODEL AND WAS WONDERING IF MY CAR IS AFFECTED IN THE RECALL. IT IS A 2006 BUICK LACROSSE. *TR
I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH MY ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL,I CONTACTED GM ON THE MATTER AND THEY TOLD ME THEY DONT COVER THE BRAKING SYSTEM,I DO CONSIDER THIS TO BE A SAFETY HASSERD,AS MY BRAKE PEDAL JUMPS WHEN I APPLY THE BRAKES,ID LIKE TO GET SATISFACTION ON THIS ISSUE. *TR
MY AIRBAG LIGHT WOULD NOT GO OFF AFTER I STARTED THE CAR, IT WOULD GO OFF THEN IT WOULD COME ON RANDOMLY WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE CAR. I HAD IT CHECKED AT A BUICK DEALER. I WAS TOLD THAT THE INTERMITTENT MODULE INSIDE THE PASSENGER SEAT WAS WHAT CAME UP ON THE COMPUTER. THEN I NOTICED THAT THE ON/OFF CONTROL ON THE PASSENGER SIDE QUIT READING "ON" WHEN I HAD A PASSENGER. I WAS TOLD THAT AS LONG AS LIGHT ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER IS "OFF" ALL MY AIRBAGS ARE WORKING. SOUNDS LIKE A SAFETY ISSUE TO ME. I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT IF I DID NOT FIX IT AT A COST OF $1300.00 THE AIRBAGS MAY DEPLOY FOR NO REASON. I READ THE OTHER COMPLAINTS AND HAVE NOT HAD THIS ISSUE DUE TO ANY LOW CABIN TEMPERATURES. IT IS AUGUST AND 80 F. I WAS NOT USING A/C WHEN THIS FIRST HAPPENED BUT IT HAS OCCURRED WHILE THE A/C WAS ON AS WELL. IT HAPPENS AT LEAST TWICE DURING MY COMMUTE TO WORK (25 MINS) AND THE SAME ON MY WAY HOME. *TR

FOR YEARS, GOING BACK TO WHEN IT HAD A WARRANTY AND THE DEALERSHIP EVEN WORKED ON IT FOR THIS PROBLEM AND HAS HAD ONE OR TWO CALLS IN THE YEARS SINCE FOR SAME PROBLEM, SES LIGHT COMES ON, IT USED TO GO OFF AND ON OCCASIONALLY, BUT NOW HAS BEEN ON FOR A YEAR OR SO CONSTANTLY. IT IS FOR DIAGNOSTIC CODE P2440 (SECONDARY AIR INJECTION VALVE STUCK OPEN). DEALERSHIP REPLACED VALVE AND/OR AIR PUMP YEARS AGO AND SAID IT WOULD FIX IT, BUT IT DIDN'T. WITHIN A FEW WEEKS, SES LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN FOR SAME THING. I CALLED THEM AND THEY SAID I COULD BRING IT BACK, BUT IT WOULD BE ON MY DIME BECAUSE THEY BARELY GOT IT COVERED THE FIRST TIME UNDER WARRANTY. WE PUT UP WITH IT FOR A BIT, THEN I PURCHASED A NEW VALVE AND INSTALLED IT MYSELF, LIGHT DID NOT GO OUT AND IT STILL TO THIS DAY SAYS THE VALVE (NEW ONE EVEN) IS STUCK OPEN. PROBLEM IS, WHEN THE SES LIGHT IS ON, THE REMOTE STARTER WON'T WORK, WHICH IS VERY UPSETTING FOR ME AND MY WIFE. FOR YEARS, JUST LIKE THE FIRST PROBLEM LISTED, IT WAS INITIALLY ?FIXED? WHILE UNDER WARRANTY, WHICH ONLY WORKED FOR A SHORT TIME. THE PASSENGER FRONT SEAT AIR BAG SENSOR HAS A MIND OF IT'S OWN! SOMETIMES IT REGISTERS A PERSON, SOMETIMES NOT. IT DOESN'T EVEN MATTER WHAT TIME OF YEAR IT IS, OR THE TEMPERATURE IN THE CAR. SOMETIMES IT THINKS THAT MY WIFE (160 LBS) IS A CHILD AND DOESN'T TURN THE AIR BAG ON AND THEN IF WE HIT A BUMP (SOMETIMES WORKS) THEN IT MIGHT TURN IT ON. IT ALSO HAS TIMES THAT IT ALSO TURNS ON THE RED AIR BAG LIGHT ON THE DASH WHILE IT SAYS OFF FOR THE PASSENGER SEAT AIR BAG. YEARS AGO WHEN WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THIS PROBLEM, THEY SAID THEY ?FIXED IT? INITIALLY, BUT IT WAS JUST A SHORT TIME LATER IT DID IT AGAIN. WHEN I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP TO LET THEM KNOW, THEY SAID JUST LIKE THE PROBLEM LISTED ABOVE, THAT IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY NOW AND THAT I'D HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET, SO I DIDN'T TAKE IT IN. *TR
FOR YEARS, THE CAR HAS HAD "ELECTRICAL GREMLINS". THERE MIGHT BE TIMES WE DRIVE IT AND NOTHING HAPPENS OUT OF THE ORDINARY EXCEPT THE SES LIGHT IS ON BECAUSE OF THE TOP LISTED PROBLEM, BUT THEN THERE ARE TIMES (MORE TIMES THAN NOT) THAT JUST THE CAR MOVING, SOMETIMES WHEN HITTING A BUMP, SOMETIMES WORSE WHEN RAINING/WET ROADS THAT THE DINGER WILL GO OFF AND THE DASH WILL RESET AND WILL SAY ?SERVICE BRAKE SYSTEM? ALONG WITH A FEW OF THE DASH LIGHTS LIGHTING UP FOR A FEW SECONDS WITH THE MESSAGE. SOMETIMES WHEN IT HAPPENS THEN IT WILL ALSO SAY ?TRACTION CONTROL OFF? WHICH MIGHT SAY IT FOR JUST A FEW SECONDS AND THERE HAVE BEEN TIMES IT SAID IT UNTIL I SHUT THE CAR OFF AND RESTARTED IT. THERE HAVE ALSO BEEN TIMES THAT THE RED ABS LIGHT HAS STAYED ILLUMINATED ON THE DASH AFTER THIS HAPPENS. SOMETIMES THIS MIGHT HAPPEN ?SERVICE BRAKE SYSTEM? ONLY LIKE ONCE ON AN OUTING, BUT THEN THERE'S TIMES THAT IT CAN OCCUR 5 TIMES IN 20 SECONDS . IT HAS NO SET SCHEDULE. THE PROBLEM WITH IT ALSO, IS THAT IF YOU HAVE THE BRAKES APPLIED WHEN IT DOES THIS, THEN THE BRAKE PEDAL STARTS PULSING AND GOES FURTHER TO THE FLOOR AND THE BRAKING CAPABILITY OF THE CAR IS LESSENED. MY WIFE AND I HAVE HAD A FEW CLOSE ACCIDENTS BECAUSE OF THIS! AND LIKE USUAL, THE DEALERSHIP HAS TOLD US EVERYTIME WE'VE CALLED THEM THAT IF WE BRING IT IN, THEY CAN DIAGNOSE IT ON OUR DIME BECAUSE OF NO WARRANTY EVEN THOUGH IT WAS DOING IT WHILE UNDER THE WARRANTY PERIOD, WE JUST DIDN'T GET THEM CALLED IN TIME BECAUSE I THOUGHT THE WARRANTY WAS ALREADY OVER BUT IT WASN'T YET. *TR
STEERING KNUCKLE- WAS REPLACED ONCE YEARS AGO UNDER WARRANTY BUT IS NOW STARTING TO MAKE NOISE AGAIN CONSISTENTLY WORSE FOR THE LAST 1-2 YEARS.FOR MONTHS NOW, WE'VE NOTICED THAT OCCASIONALLY THE CAR WILL ACT WEIRD. THE THROTTLE WILL BE LESS RESPONSIVE AND IT WILL ALMOST ACT LIKE IT'S MISSING ON A COUPLE CYLINDERS OR SO, BUT IT HAS NEVER SET A CODE FOR IT. THE SHIFT POINTS ARE RAISED AND YOU HAVE TO DRASTICALLY GIVE IT MORE THROTTLE TO GET THE CAR TO ACCELERATE, BUT WHEN IT DOES, IT KINDA LIKE SURGES AND THEN IT SHIFTS HARDER. ONCE IT IS IN ROAD GEAR AND CRUISING, THE CAR SURGES WHILE AT A CONSTANT SPEED, IT CAN BE FELT THAT THE CAR SURGES AND DOESN'T REMAIN TOTALLY SMOOTH AND CONSISTENT LIKE IT SHOULD. AN ENGINE RESTART USUALLY STOPS IT FOR THAT TIME. WE HAVE THE SAME SPORADIC PROBLEM AND HAVE HAD FOR YEARS ON OUR '98 OLDS EIGHTY-EIGHT WITH A 3800 ENGINE ALSO. BOTH CARS ARE NOW DOING THE EXACT SAME THING OCCASIONALLY, ARE 8 MODEL YEARS APART, BOTH HAVE THE 3800 ENGINE BUT ONE IS A SERIES II ENGINE AND THE OTHER IS A SERIES III. WE JUST NOTICED THE PAST FEW MONTHS THAT THE CAR IS STARTING TO MAKE FRONT END NOISES LIKE THE FRONT STABILIZER BAR IS BROKE, SO I LOOKED AT IT RECENTLY AND NOTICED THAT THE LEFT SIDE OF IT WHERE IT CONNECTS TO THE LOWER CONTROL ARM IS STRESS FRACTURED IN HALF. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS 2006 BUICK LACROSSE CX. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED ON AN INCLINE, THE CONTACT STARTED THE IGNITION AND THE GEAR SELECTOR FAILED TO SHIFT INTO REVERSE OR DRIVE. AFTER NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS, THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO SHIFT INTO DRIVE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WOULD ONLY OCCUR WHILE PARKED ON AN INCLINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THEY INFORMED HIM THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILURE WAS A COMMON ISSUE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE PERSISTED. DASH LIGHTS WILL NOT COME ON WHEN STARTING THE CAR. THIS HAPPENS ON OCCASION (ABOUT 2 TIMES PER MONTH). IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO DETERMINE WHEN THIS HAPPENS. THE DASH LIGHTS MAY COME ON FROM FIVE MINUTES TO AN HOUR AFTER THE CAR IS STARTED. THIS MOSTLY HAPPENS WHEN THE CAR IS FIRST STARTED. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS IT HAS DONE OUT WHILE DRIVING. GM HAS OFFERED A DIAGNOSES OF THE PROBLEM BUT THIS WOULD ONLY BE BENEFICIAL IF THEY WERE OFF AND STAYED OFF WHEN I WOULD GO TO A DEALER. I HAVE TRIED THIS ANY THE LIGHTS ALWAYS COME BACK ON BEFORE I ARRIVE. MY NEIGHBOR HAS A BUICK THE SAME YEAR AS MINE AND HIS DOES THE SAME THING. THE DEALER REFUSES TO FIND THE PROBLEM AND SAYS IT IS SUPPOSE TO WORK THAT WAY. THEY ARE WRONG ON THIS PROBLEM. WHEN THE LIGHTS GO OUT YOU CAN NOT SEE ANYTHING IN THE DASH LIGHTED AREA. *TR
THE PASSENGER AIRBAG SENSOR WORKS INTERMITTENTLY WHEN A PERSON IS SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. SOMETIMES THE SENSOR WILL NOT TURN ON WITH MY WIFE OR I SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. TOOK THE CAR IN TO THE GARAGE AND THEY SAID THAT THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD AND THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD BE INFORMED OF THIS SO I CAN GET MY AUTO REPAIRED PROPERLY. *TR
ON MY 2006 BUICK LACROSSE, AT ABOUT 48K MILES THERE WAS A LOUD CLICKING NOISE FROM UNDER THE HOOD.....LUCKILY I WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY BECAUSE IT WAS A CRACKED FLYWHEEL (FLEX PLATE)......I GO ON MY HAPPY WAY AND ABOUT 10 MONTHS LATER I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM....AND SINCE I AM OVER THE MILEAGE PORTION OF THE PART WARRANTY, GM REFUSED TO COVER IT 100%......OK, I REALIZE ITS TECHNICALLY OUT OF WARRANTY, BUT THERE IS NOTHING THAT I CAN DO TO THAT CAR TO CAUSE THE FLYWHEEL TO CRACK...SOMETHING IS MAKING THIS HAPPEN AND GM REFUSES TO REFUND ME. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BUICK LACROSSE. WHILE TURNING THE VEHICLE AT 10 MPH, THE HEADLIGHTS DIMMED WHEN THE TURN SIGNALS WERE ENGAGED. THE CONTACT DID NOT KNOW IF THE REST OF THE EXTERIOR LIGHTS ALSO FAILED. HE WAITED APPROXIMATELY 15-20 SECONDS BEFORE THE HEADLIGHTS ILLUMINATED AGAIN. HE TURNED THE VEHICLE AGAIN AND THE HEADLIGHTS FAILED. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER AND WAITED ONCE MORE FOR THE LIGHTS TO ILLUMINATE. ONCE THE LIGHTS ACTIVATED AGAIN, HE DROVE ALL THE WAY HOME WITHOUT USING HIS TURN SIGNALS. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY ATTEMPTED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE, BUT WAS UNSUCCESSFUL. TRAVELING TO FLORIDA I NOTICED THE AIRBAG LIGHT WAS OFF WHEN THE PASSENGER WAS BUCKLED UP. THIS LIGHT WOULD GO ON AND OFF THE WHOLE TRIP TO AND FROM FLORIDA. WHEN I GOT HOME I TOOK THE CAR IN THE BUICK DEALERSHIP TO HAVE CHECKED. THEY RAN A TEST ON IT AND SAID THEY COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM. THE LIGHT CONTINUES GOING ON AND OFF WHEN THE PASSENGER IS BUCKLED IN. I LOOKED ON THE INTERNET AND FOUND THAT THIS WAS A RECALL ON MY 2006 BUICK LACROSSE. I CANNOT BELIEVE THE DEALERSHIP WOULD ALLOW ME TO TRANSPORT A PASSENGER KNOWING THAT THEY RECALLED THIS CAR FOR THE SAME ISSUES I DESCRIBED ABOVE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BUICK LACROSSE. AFTER A FREEZING RAIN AND SNOW STORM, THE CONTACT'S WIFE ACTIVATED THE REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER. THE DEFROSTER MALFUNCTIONED AND FAILED TO DEFROST THE WINDOW. SHE WAS UNABLE TO SEE THROUGH HER REAR WINDOW. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO A FAULTY CONNECTION. AT 12K MILES THE OIL PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON AND CONTINUED TO GO ON AND OFF DEPENDENT OF THE RPM. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE WITH A CAM SHAFT FAILURE AND DUE TO THAT FAILURE OTHER SUBSEQUENT DAMAGE OCCURRED TO THE ENGINE AND IT WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. IN ADDITION, MY STEERING SHAFT WAS ALSO WORN AT 12K MILES AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. AND FURTHERMORE, I HAVE HAD CHRONIC ISSUES WITH MY GAUGE LIGHTS DIMMING AND UNDIMMING INTERMITTENTLY. THE DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE AND RETURNED THE CAR UNFIXED. VERY UNHAPPY WITH MY PURCHASE OF A BRAND NEW CAR AND WILL NOT BUY GM EVERY AGAIN. *TR

GM 2006 BUICK LACROSSE WITH FRONT END PROBLEM**CC THE CONSUMER STATED AFTER THE MILEAGE WAS INCREASED ON THE VEHICLE, THE TIRES WORE PREMATURELY AND THE SHIMMY OR VIBRATION BECAME WORSE. THE CONSUMER STATED THE VIBRATION WAS SO SEVERE, THAT SHE ALSO SHAKES WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. STEERING CONTROL HAS BECOME A SAFETY HAZARD AND THE VEHICLE WILL FLOAT ON CURVES AND ON FLAT STRAIGHT HIGHWAYS. THE TIRES HAVE BEEN REPLACED SEVERAL TIMES TO NO AVAIL. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BUICK LACROSSE. WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH THERE WAS A GRINDING NOISE WHEN ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A TURN. THE NOISE GOT PROGRESSIVELY WORSE THROUGHOUT THE DAY. THE DEALER LUBRICATED THE STEERING. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE GRINDING NOISE WAS DUE TO THE STEERING SHAFT. THE WEATHER CONDITIONS WERE NOT A FACTOR. THE GRINDING NOISE RECURRED WITHIN 4 MONTHS. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11,000.
IT HAD RAINED EARLIER IN THE DAY AND THE ROADS WERE STILL WET. I WAS TRAVELING 30 MPH IN A 40 MPH ZONE. I APPLIED MY BRAKES APPROX. 200 FEET PRIOR TO THE TRAFFIC AND STOP LIGHT. THE CAR SKIDDED. AT 150 FEET I BROKE HARDER AND THE ABS ENGAGED. THE HARDER I PUSHED THE MORE THE CAR SKIDDED. THE BRAKES NEVER STOPPED THE CAR -- IT ONLY SLOWED IT DOWN. THE ONLY TIME THE CAR STOPPED WAS WHEN IT HIT THE SUV IN FRONT OF IT, CAUSING $3,000 WORTH OF DAMAGE TO MY CAR. EITHER THE BRAKES DON'T WORK PROPERLY, OR THERE IS NOT ENOUGH TRACTION WITH THE TIRES. NO INCIDENT AS OF NOW, BUT IS A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN. THE PASSENGER SENSING DEVICE IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. AT TIMES THE PASSENGER FRONT AIRBAG WILL NOT TURN ON WITH MY WIFE IN PASSENGER SEAT. IT MAY WORK FOR TWO WEEKS AND THEN NOT ENABLE AT RANDOM FOR TWO OR THREE DAYS. SENSOR WAS REPLACED WITH NO IMPROVEMENT. *NM
MY 2006 BUICK LACROSSE HAS A CENTER ARM REST. THE TOP OF THE ARM REST LIFTS UP TO REVEAL A STORAGE COMPARTMENT, WHICH CONTAINS STORAGE SLOTS FOR CD'S. ATTACHED TO THE INSIDE TOP OF THE ARM REST IS A FOAM PAD, WHICH I ASSUME WAS PUT THERE TO PREVENT THE CD'S FROM RATTLING AND MAKING NOISE. THE PROBLEM IS THAT WHEN YOU ARE STORING CD'S AND LIFT THE TOP OF THE ARM REST TO GET AT THE STORAGE AREA, THE CD'S STICK TO THE FOAM PAD AND GET LIFTED OUT OF THE STORAGE AREA. THE RESULT IS CD'S SPILLED ALL OVER THE FRONT PASSENGER AREA. BESIDE BEING A MAJOR PAIN IN THE NECK, THIS CAN BE VERY DISCONCERTING TO A DRIVER, CAUSING DISTRACTION - WHICH CAN LEAD TO ACCIDENTS. I BOUGHT A BUICK LACROSSE VIN [XXX] ON MARCH 30, 2006. I PICKED UP THE CAR ON MARCH 31, 2006, AND HAD A PROBLEM WITH A LOW OIL PRESSURE LIGHT THAT DAY. I WAS SICK AFTER PICKING UP THE CAR BUT ATTEMPTED TO USE ONSTAR DIAGNOSTIC WHICH THEY WERE UNABLE TO PINPOINT THE PROBLEM AND I E-MAILED THE DEALER CONCERNING THE PROBLEM. UPON MY RECOVERY, I RETURNED THE CAR TO THE DEALER FOR SERVICE ON APRIL 7, 2006. ON APRIL 10, 2006, THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT CONTACTED AND INFORMED ME THAT MY CAR NEEDS A REPAIR TO THE CAMSHAFT ASSEMBLY. THIS DEFECT EXISTED THE DAY I PICKED UP THE CAR, IT HAD 87 MILES ON IT WHEN I PICKED IT UP, AND SINCE THE CAR WAS INSPECTED THE MORNING I PICKED IT UP, THE DEALER ALLOWED A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT TO BE SOLD AND DELIVERED. UPON CONTACTING BUICK TO MAKING BUICK IS AWARE THAT THIS HAD HAPPENED AND SEEKING RESOLUTION THE DEALER PUT A NEW ENGINE IN THE CAR. IT IS NOT APPROPRIATE FOR THE DEALER OR BUICK TO SELL A DEFECTIVE CAR AND BELIEVE THAT PUTTING A NEW ENGINE IN THE CAR RESOLVES THE PROBLEM. I HAVE COMPLAINT TO BUICK AND THE DEALER ABOUT THIS NUMEROUS TIME BUT I GET STONE WALLED, THEY COMPLETELY IGNORE THE PROBLEM EXISTING PRIOR TO ME BUYING AND TAKING DELIVERY OF THE CAR. ALSO, THE WINDSHIELD HAS LARGE REFLECTIONS OF APPROACHING VEHICLES. THE CONTACT WAS TOO NERVOUS WHEN GETTING INTO THE VEHICLE. WE HAVE A SERIOUS DEFECT WITH THE 2006 BUICK LACROSSE. AT COOL/COLD TEMPERATURES (BELOW 57 OF) THE PASSENGER AIR BAG SENSOR DOES NOT WORK! THE PASSENGER AIRBAG IS OFF. THE LOW OIL PRESSURE ALARM RANG AFTER ONLY 1542 MILES DEALER MADE APPT FOR 2/21 - WASN'T WORRIED "PROBABLY ONLY A FALSE ALARM". THE ALARM RANG AGAIN AT 1550 MILES. I MADE THE DEALER TAKE THE CAR BACK TO DEALER. GM HAD TO REPLACE ENGINE DUE TO METAL IN OIL PAN. I'VE ONLY MADE ONE PAYMENT AND DON'T FEEL THE CAR IS WORTH A NEW CAR PRICE. *JB

IF IT DETECTS NO PASSENGER, THE PASSENGER AIR-BAG IS TURNED "OFF." AT TEMPERATURES BELOW 55. THIS PASSENGER SIDE SEAT SENSOR DOES NOT WORK! MY WIFE FIRST NOTICED IT ON A COLD MORNING, I HAD HER BOUNCE UP AND DOWN ON THE SEAT - NO RESPONSE. THE AIR-BAG REMAINED "OFF." THIS HAPPENED EVERYTIME THE TEMPERATURE AS INDICATED ON THE DASH WAS 55 OF OR LOWER. ONLY AFTER THE HEATER WAS ON AND THE CABIN TEMPERATURE CAME CLOSER TO ROOM TEMPERATURE DID WE HEAR A "CLICK!" AND THE INDICATOR THEN SAID THE AIR-BAG WAS "ON." IF THIS IS A DESIGN OR MANUFACTURING FLAW IN THESE SEAT SENSORS, THEN I CAN SEE THOUSANDS OF PASSENGERS BEING POSSIBLY THROWN THROUGH THE FRONT WINDSHIELD BECAUSE "THE COMPUTER" "KNOWS" THAT NO ONE IS SITTING IN THE FRONT SEAT AND HAS THEREFORE TURNED THE AIR-BAG "OFF." THIS OCCURRED AT LEAST 5 TIMES IN JANUARY WHEN WE WERE IN VIRGINIA THE FIRST WEEK OF JANUARY. 2006 BUICK LACROSSE WITH DEFECTIVE PASSENGER AIRBAG SENSOR.
