WHILE TURNING CORNERS, CAR JERKS FORWARD AND WHEELS SEEMINGLY STICK TO GROUND AND SQUEAL. THIS ALSO HAPPENS WHEN STOPPING AT RED LIGHTS AND TRYING TO ACCELERATE OR WHEN ACCELERATING WHEN ON A HILL OR INCLINE. I'VE HAVE GOTTEN SEVERAL DIFFERENT ANSWERS ABOUT WHAT THIS COULD BE BUT NOTHING DEFINITIVE. WAS TOLD MAKE A TRANSMISSION ISSUE, OR SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE 4TH CLUTCH PISTON AND FRICTION PLATES. ALSO WHEN DRIVING CAR IS ABLE TO BE MOVED INTO DIFFERENT GEARS, GEAR BOX SHOULD NOT MOVE WHEN CAR HAS ALREADY BEEN PLACED INTO THE APPROPRIATE GEAR (P, R, D, 3, 2, 1). THERE HAS ALSO BEEN ISSUES W/ THOSE SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT AND THE LIGHT DOES NOT DISPLAY SHOWING THAT IT RECOGNIZES A BODY IN THE SEAT AND THE AIRBAG HAS BEEN ACTIVATED. CHECKED W/ GM NO KNOWN RECALLS FOR ANY OF THIS ISSUES BUT THEY ARE ALL POTENTIALLY HAZARDOUS. *TR
GM BUICK LA CROSSE HEADLIGHT CONTROL. NHTSA RECALL NOTICE IN 2015. FAILED IN APRIL 2008. OUT OF WARRANTY. REPLACED CONTROL UNIT WITH NEW UNIT COST $1048. SENT DETQILS TO NORTH COUNTY BUICK DEALER IN MARCH 2015. NO ANSWER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BUICK LACROSSE. THE CONTACT STARTED THE VEHICLE AND STATED THAT THE GEAR LEVER FAILED TO COMPLETELY ENGAGE INTO THE DRIVE POSITION. THE FAILURE OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE DEALER STATED THAT BOTH SHIFTER CABLES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 37,800.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURE WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. WHILE DRIVING UP A LONG INCLINE ON I-10 VEHICLE BEHAVED AS IF THE IGNITION HAD BEEN TURNED OFF AND KEY REMOVED. IE: ENGINE OFF, NO LIGHTS OR ACCESSORIES, NO WARNING LIGHTS ON DASH. TRAFFIC WAS HEAVY AND MY WIFE WAS FORTUNATE TO SAFELY COAST INTO SHOULDER. INCIDENT RECORDED WITH BUICK, HAVE REFERENCE NUMBER. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BUICK LACROSSE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEADLIGHTS SHORTED INTERMITTENTLY FOR THE LOW BEAMS AND THE CONTACT HAD TO APPLY THE HIGH BEAMS AS AN INTERIM REPAIR. AS THE FAILURE PROGRESSED, THE LOW BEAMS WOULD ILLUMINATE AND THEN SHORTED WITH NO WARNING. MONTHS LATER, THE LOW BEAMS FAILED TO WORK ENTIRELY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE TO REPAIR ACCORDING TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V755000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING). THE CONTACT WAS ALSO WAITING FOR THE PART TO BECOME AVAILABLE TO PERFORM THE REPAIR FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V355000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE A REASONABLE TIMEFRAME TO SCHEDULE THE TWO RECALL REPAIRS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BUICK LACROSSE. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED TO APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH. THE CONTACT HAD NO CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND IT CRASHED INTO A SNOW BANK. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES SUSTAINED IN THE CRASH. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE DRIVEN AND TAKEN TO A LOCAL AUTOMOBILE REPAIR SHOP TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 26,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BUICK LACROSSE. AFTER SHUTTING OFF AND EXITING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT SMOKE WAS EMITTING NEAR THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE. AFTER INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE HEAD LAMP DRIVER MODULE WAS SMOKING AND THE RUBBERS WERE MELTING. ON ANOTHER OCCASION, WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS SHUT OFF, THE HEAD LAMPS FAILED TO SHUT OFF WHICH DRAINED THE BATTERY. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START AND REQUIRED A JUMP. THE FAILURES RECURRED AND THE HEAD LAMPS WERE REPLACED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A NOTICE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V755000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING) AND STATED THAT THE PARTS NEEDED WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND THEY WERE UNCERTAIN WHEN THE PARTS WOULD BECOME AVAILABLE TO SERVICE THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND THEY STATED THAT THEY WERE ALSO UNCERTAIN WHEN THE PARTS WOULD BECOME AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.
OUR HEADLIGHTS/DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS JUST QUIT WORKING AS WE WERE DRIVING. WE WERE ABLE TO SAFELY PULL OVER AND USE THE HIGH BEAMS. THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE FOR OVER A YEAR NOW. SOMETIMES THE REGULAR HEADLIGHTS WORK AND SOMETIMES THEY DON'T. ALL OTHER LIGHTS WORK FINE SO WE HAVE BEEN INTERMITTENTLY DRIVING WITH JUST HIGH BEAMS ONLY. WE WERE EXCITED TO FIND OUT THAT THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN RECALLED ON OUR MAKE AND MODEL AND YEAR UNTIL WE LATER FOUND OUT THAT OUR VIN NUMBER WAS NOT AFFECTED. I FIND HIS IS VERY STRANGE!!! IT SURE SEEMS LIKE IT WAS AFFECTED TO ME!!! I CALLED GM RECALL HELP LINE AND THERE IS APPARENTLY NOTHING I CAN DO ABOUT THIS. I WOULD THINK SAFETY WOULD BE A CONCERN FOR YOUR CUSTOMERS. I WOULD ALSO THINK YOU WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF OTHER VEHICLES WERE AFFECTED. I WOULD LIKE FURTHER RESEARCH ON ADDITIONAL VEHICLES AS IT IS OBVIOUS THAT OTHER VEHICLES HAVE BEEN AFFECTED. DRIVING AT 45MPH, SMELLED SMOKE FROM WHAT APPEARED TO BE AN ELECTRICAL FIRE. APPROXIMATELY 1/2 MILE DRIVING TIME, THE ENGINE AND ALL POWER CUT OFF. GOT SOMEONE TO HELP PUSH THE CAR OFF ROAD WHEN ANOTHER PERSON NOTICE THERE WAS A FIRE COMING FROM UNDERNEATH THE ENGINE. FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS DISPATCHED BUT ENGINE WAS COMPLETELY ENGULFED BY THE TIME THEY GOT THERE TO PUT OUT THE FIRE. POLICE AND FIRE MARSHALL DETERMINED FIRE CAME FROM ELECTRICAL FUSE BOX INITIALLY. CAR WAS TOTALED BY INSURANCE. *TR
AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKS WORK SPORADICALLY ON ALL DOORS. THEY SEEM TO LOCK WHEN THE CAR IS IN DRIVE, BUT WILL NOT UNLOCK WHEN SHIFTED TO PARK OR WHEN YOU PUSH THE POWER UNLOCK BUTTON. A RELATED PROBLEM WITH THE FRONT AND REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR WHERE THE DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM INSIDE OR OUTSIDE. REPLACED THE CABLE IN THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE THAT WAS CORRODED, NOW EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE REAR DRIVER SIDE. I DON'T WANT TO SPEND $200 TO REPLACE ANOTHER CABLE. IF I POUND THE INSIDE OF THE DOOR JUST RIGHT AND IN THE RIGHT SPOT, I CAN GET IT TO OPEN. THE LOCK MECHANISM IS NOT OPENING ALL THE DOORS - I HAVE BEEN STUCK INSIDE THE CAR A COUPLE OF TIMES WHERE I NEEDED TO CRAWL OUT OF THE PASSENGER SIDE BEFORE I FIXED THE DRIVERS DOOR. *TR

WE BOUGHT THIS CAR FROM A PRIVATE PARTY IN OCT. OF 2013. WE HAVE NOTICED A SOUND WHEN WE TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. SOUNDS LIKE SOMETHING ISN'T RIGHT IN THE STEERING COLUMN. HAS THERE BEEN A PROBLEM WITH THE STEERING WITH THESE CARS? WE TRIED STEERING WHEEL FLUID BUT IT MADE NO DIFFERENCE. *TR

THE CONTACT EXITED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THAT THE HUBCAP WAS RUBBING AGAINST THE VALVE STEM, WEARING THE RUBBER DOWN TO THE METAL. THE CONTACT ALSO NOTICED THAT THE OTHER TIRES EXHIBITED THE SAME DEFECT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKE TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000. UPDATED 11/19/13*LJ ALL FOUR OF THE VALVE STEMS WERE WORN DOWN TO WHERE THE RUBBER WAS MOLDED. THE CONSUMER REPLACED THE TIRES.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE RACK AND PINION AND MOTOR MOUNTS WERE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,446 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 127,289.

I HAVE JUST RECENTLY BECOME BUICK OWNER I NEEDED A NICE DEPENDABLE CAR FOR WORK. I HAVE NOT HAD THE CAR MONTH YET AND THERE'S A PROBLEM WITH THE STEERING. I HAVE HAD TO PUT IN POWER STEERING FLUID EVERY OTHER DAY BECAUSE ITS RAN OUT. MY DAD AND I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING, BECAUSE I CAN'T AFFORD TO REPLACE A ENTIRE RACK AND PINION SYSTEM AND MY WARRANTY JUST LIKE MANY OTHERS DOESN'T COVER THIS PART. GM NEEDS TO THINK REALLY HARD ABOUT RECALLING THE CARS THAT HAVE THIS ISSUE OR MAYBE ALL THE OWNERS SHOULD GO TO THE LOCAL MEDIA ABOUT THE ISSUE. LOOSING ANTIFREEZE AND CANT FIND LEAK. WHEN DRIVING I CAN SMELL IT AND WHEN I CHECK THE ANTIFREEZE LEVEL IT'S LOW. CAN'T FIND A LEAK, BUT I'M ADDING ANTIFREEZE TO OFTEN 1 GL. EVERY OTHER WEEK. *TR
I WENT TO THE PARKING GARAGE AFTER WORK, AND HAD DIFFICULT GETTING INTO MY VEHICLE. THE REMOTE DID NOT WORK. WHEN I PUT THE KEY IN THE LOCK, IT WOULD TURN BUT NOT UNLOCK THE DOOR. AFTER ABOUT 15 MINUTES, I FINALLY GOT INTO MY CAR. I PICKED MY SISTER UP AND WENT TO THE RESTAURANT. I WAS UNABLE TO GET OUT OF THE CAR. I TRIED THE REMOTE, THE INSIDE RELEASE AND PULLING ON THE LOCK. I FINALLY GOT IT TO RELEASE. THEN I HAD PROBLEMS CLOSING THE DOOR. WE GOT IT SHUT BUT WHEN WE CAME BACK FROM THE RESTAURANT IT WAS OPEN. I DROPPED MY SISTER OFF AND DROVE THE MILE HOME, THE DOOR AGAIN WOULD NOT OPEN NOR WOULD THE PASSENGER DOOR OPEN. I AM CLAUSTROPHOBIC AND BECAME VERY UPSET. I WENT BACK TO MY SISTER'S AND GOT THE DOOR OPEN . WE LEFT IT AJAR, AND WHEN I GOT HOME IT STILL WOULD NOT OPEN. AFTER ABOUT ANOTHER 15 MINUTES, I FINALLY GOT IT TO RELEASE. THEN NEXT DAY WHEN MY HUSBAND TOOK THE CAR OVER TO THE DEALERS, HE COULD NOT GET THE DOOR TO OPEN. HE WAS ABLE TO GET THE PASSENGER DOOR OPEN AND CLIMBED OUT THAT WAY. I CAN UNDERSTAND THE ELECTRONICS MALFUNCTIONING, BUT NOT THE MANUAL SYSTEM. I REALLY FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD. I JUST GOT OFF THE CHAT LINE WITH GENERAL MOTORS AND RECEIVED NO SATISFACTION OR RESOLUTION. IT WAS $300 TO HAVE THE DRIVER DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR REPLACED/REPAIRED. I STILL HAVE NO EXPLANATION AS TO WHY THE MANUAL SYSTEM DID NOT WORK.. *TR
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS DO NOT WORK. LIGHTS WORKED FINE, PARKED THE CAR IN THE GARAGE, LIGHTS STAYED ON DELAY MODE AND BOTH WERE FINE. SWITCHED FROM AUTO TO MANUAL MODE, STILL NO LOW BEAM LIGHTS, HIGH BEAM LIGHTS WORK FINE. I HAVE READ THAT SEVERAL OTHERS HAVE THIS SAME PROBLEM. NOBODY SEEMS TO HAVE A SOLUTION. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER:14V355000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 210,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL FOR THE COVERING TO BE REPLACED DESPITE THE MANUFACTURER ASSURING THEM IT WAS THE SAME MATERIAL USED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A CERTIFIED MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE HUB NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT RECEIVED A SECOND REPAIR FOR THE ABS AND INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,000.

WHILE DRIVING ON A THREE LANE HIGHWAY, THE 2006 LACROSSE ENGINE STOPPED. I WAS ABLE TO CROSS TWO LANES AND PARK ON THE SHOULDER. TOWED TO A MECHANIC AND HE SPENT 1/2 HOUR LOOKING FOR PROBLEM. TESTED AND NO CODES. MOVED THE CONNECTION AT THE DISTRIBUTOR MODULE AND THE PROBLEM WAS SOLVED. TRIED TO MAKE IT FAIL AGAIN BY MOVING, UNPLUG AND PLUGGING THE CONNECTION. I DROVE HOME AND IT HAS NOT HAPPENED AGAIN. *TR
TRAVELING 40 MPH ON A FOUR LANE ABOUT TO PASS A TRUCK. MOTOR STOPPED, POWER STEERING OUT, POWER BRAKES OUT, MANAGED TO COAST ACROSS THREE LANES TO SHOULDER TO PARK. WALKED 1/4 MILES TO STORE CALLED A LOCAL GARAGE. CAR STILL WOULD NOT START, TOWED TO HIS GARAGE. CHECKED GAS, FUEL PRESSURE OKAY BUT NO SPARK. MOVED SOME CONNECTORS AROUND THE STARTING MODULE AND CAR STARTED. HAVE NOT HAD ANY PROBLEMS SINCE, HAVE THE FEAR THAT I WILL BE ON A CHICAGO TOLL ROAD AND IT WILL STOP AGAIN. *TR

I AM AN OWNER OF A 2006 BUICK LACROSSE CX, WITH APPROX. 47,000 MILES. AS I ENTERED THE UNDERGROUND PARKING GARAGE, AT WORK, TUESDAY MORNING, I DISCOVERED I HAD NO LOW BEAMS. THE HIGH BEAMS AND PARKING LIGHTS BOTH WORKED. I TOOK THE CAR TO A VERY REPUTABLE DEALER TO DIAGNOSE. I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS A GOOD THING I GOT THE CAR THERE WHEN I DID. (I COULD'VE HAD A FIRE UNDER THE HOOD)...THE TECHNICIAN SAID THAT THE FUSE BOX, AGAINST THE FIREWALL, UNDER THE HOOD, HAD MELTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,615.

THE PARTS NECESSARY TO MAKE THE REPAIRS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 62,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
2006 BUICK LACROSSE. CONSUMER STATES INJURY AND ACCIDENT DUE TO A MECHANICAL ANOMALY STATING VEHICLE REVERSED ON ITS OWN. THE CONSUMER STATED SHE PUT THE GEAR IN PARK, OPENED THE DOOR AND LEFT IT OPEN WHILE SHE WALKED APPROXIMATELY EIGHT STEPS. AS THE CONSUMER TURNED AROUND, SHE SAW THE VEHICLE TRAVELING BACKWARDS AND RAN TO STOP IT. SOON, THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET AND SHE REALIZED SHE COULDN'T GET IN THE VEHICLE, BUT AT THAT POINT THE DOOR APPARENTLY HIT THE CONSUMER AND KNOCKED HER TO THE PAVEMENT. THE INJURY RESULTED IN A CONCUSSION WHICH EVENTUALLY REQUIRED BRAIN SURGERY TO REMOVE A HEMATOMA. *JB
