POWER STEERING UNIT SPRUNG A LEAK FROM THE CASING WHERE A HOLE WAS OBSERVED. WE HAD TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE POWER STEERING UNIT JUST 3,000 MILES OUT OF WARRANTY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 BUICK LACROSSE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH WITH THE HEADLIGHTS ACTIVATED, SUDDENLY THE HEADLIGHTS BECAME INOPERABLE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO MANEUVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WHERE THE HIGH BEAM HEADLIGHTS WERE ENGAGED WHICH ALLOWED THE CONTACT TO RESUME DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO THE FAULTY BODY CONTROL MODULE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE MALFUNCTION. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000.
RETURNING FROM A MI TRIP ON PA RT 80, NOTICED PASSENGER AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT WAS OFF. SINCE THAT TIME, THE AIR BAG LIGHT HAS BEEN INTERMITTENTLY EFFECTIVE (SEE DIAGNOSTIC CHECK ON DEALER BILLING). RECENTLY, DEPUTY ADMINISTRATOR [XXX] HAS TESTIFIED A DEFECT WAS THE RESULT OF INACCURATE SUPPRESSION READ BY THE AIR BAG MODULE WHICH ACTIVATES THE SEAT BAG. WE HAVE BEEN TRAVELING SINCE, UNSURE THE PASSENGER WAS COVERED BY AN ACTIVE BAG. PLEASE ADVISE OF ANY INFORMATION AVAILABLE TO ASSIST IN IDENTIFYING THIS PROBLEM. THANK YOU. (DEALER... I HAVE A CLUNKING SOUND COMING FROM THE STEERING WHEEL/SHAFT ASSEMBLE WHEN TURING EITHER DIRECTION OR WHEN HITTING A BUMP. THERE IS A BUICK TSB THAT DESCRIBES THE PROBLEM FOR THE 2005-2007 YEARS AND THE PARTS WERE UPGRADED IN 2008 TO FIX THE PROBLEM. BUICK WILL NOT REPLACE THE PART FREE BUT I NOTICE THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM FOR THESE YEARS. THERE DOESN'T APPEAR TO BE ANY SORT OF RECALL, OR LEAST I DON'T SEE ANY ON LINE AND I HAVE NOT BEEN NOTIFIED. THE DEALERSHIP WANTS $250 TO REPLACE THE NEEDED PARTS. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY IN THE RAIN, MY HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT. I WAS TERRIFIED. TURNING THE SWITCH ON AND OFF WOULD NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND WOULD NOT FIX IT. I HAD TAKEN THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASE IN 2009 AND HAD COMPLAINED OF LEAKING SEAL ON THE TOP EDGE OF THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR IN THE RAIN. WATER WOULD DRIP ALL OVER MY LEFT ARM, SHOULDER AND ARM REST. THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND WOULD NOT FIX IT. NOW THE HEADLIGHTS WILL REFUSE TO WORK ON AN INTERMITTENT BASIS. THE DEALERSHIP WILL NOT FIX IT. THE DASH READS HEADLIGHTS SUGGESTED BUT THEY WILL NOT COME ON. I CAN USE THE DIMMER ON THE STEERING COLUMN AND THE BRIGHT LIGHTS WILL WORK, BUT DRIVING WITH BRIGHT LIGHTS INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC IS DANGEROUS. I NEED TO HAVE A DEALER FIX THIS PROBLEM. I TOOK THE CAR THROUGH A CAR WASH FOR THE FIRST TIME THE OTHER DAY AND THE LIGHTS HAVE BEEN ACTING UP AGAIN. PLEASE HAVE SOMEONE CONTACT ME AND AUTHORIZE REPAIRS AT THE DEALERSHIP. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE EVEN A SHORT DISTANCE AT NIGHT NOT KNOWING WHEN MY HEADLIGHTS WILL SUDDENLY GO OUT AGAIN. IT HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES NOW. ALSO, THERE WAS A VIBRATION ISSUE, SO THE DEALER REPLACED THE TIRES, BUT IT DIDN'T RESOLVE THE ISSUE.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 BUICK LACROSSE. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONTACT WAS FORCED TO DRIVE ONTO THE EMERGENCY LANE AND ATTEMPT TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESTART IMMEDIATELY BUT IT DID RESTART AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TO TEST WHICH DID NOT LIST ANY ERROR CODES REGARDING THE VEHICLE STALLING. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER DEALER FOR ANOTHER DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND WAS ALSO ADVISED THAT THERE WERE NO ERRORS CODES TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF FAILURE. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER REGARDING THE VEHICLE STALLING. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WERE NO OTHER COMPLAINTS REGARDING THE VEHICLE STALLING. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL MECHANIC WHO STATED THE CRANK SENSOR FAILED AND THE STEERING MODULE WAS FAULTY. THE CONTACT STATED VEHICLE WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE WHICH COULD POTENTIALLY RESULT IN A SERIOUS CRASH. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,000.
WE ARE REPAIRING A 2007 BUICK LACROSSE CX FOR A CUSTOMER AND ARE UNABLE TO COMPLETE REPAIRS BECAUSE GM DOES NOT HAVE A DRIVER'S SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAG AVAILABLE AND APPARENTLY DOES NOT HAVE ANY IN LINE TO BE PRODUCED. WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR SEVERAL WEEKS FOR THIS SAFETY PART FOR A FOUR YEAR OLD CAR AND THE PART IS NOT AVAILABLE NATIONALLY. *TR
ROUTINE DRIVING. AFTER MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN AT A TRAFFIC SIGNAL THE POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING. THIS MADE THE VEHICLE ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO STEER. THE O RING HAD BLOWN OUT OF THE POWER STEERING HOSE LEADING TO THE PUMP. *TR

THE CONTACT HAD TO UTILIZE THE HIGH BEAM LIGHTS AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT A RELAY SWITCH WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 58,000.
DRIVING A DISTANCE OF THREE MILES CAR STALLED FIVE TIMES. STARTED AGAIN EACH TIME DEALERSHIP SOLD ME A NEW BATTERY THREE DAYS LATER--ACCELERATION QUIT, GOING DOWN THE ROAD IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. I ENGAGED THE ACCELERATOR WITH NO RESPONSE. ABLE TO PULL OVER AND TURN OFF KEY AND THEN START AGAIN AND PROCEED. DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT THE COMPUTER SHOWED NO PROBLEM WITH THE CAR. TWO DAYS LATER THE CAR STALLED IN MY MOBILE HOME PARK, STARTED THEN STALLED AND WOULDN'T START. WHEN I TRIED TO START THE CAR IT WOULDN'T. THEN WHEN I TRIED TO START AGAIN AND RELEASED THE KEY, THE STARTER GRABBED THE KEY AND KEPT GRINDING MOMENTARILY. THEN WHEN I TRIED TO START IT THE STARTER CLICKED AS IF IT WERE GONE. I PARKED IT FOR THE NIGHT AND CALLED AAA IN THE MORNING. THE CAR STARTED RIGHT UP AND WAS DRIVEN ON TO THE TRUCK.. I WAS TOLD I NEEDED TWO PARTS A STARTER AND SOMETHING ELSE. THAT WAS ON MONDAY. IT'S THURSDAY NOW AND I'M WAITING FOR ANOTHER PART. I WAS TOLD THE DIMMER SWITCH HAD SHORTED OUT AND HAD BEEN AFFECTING THE WHOLE SYSTEM. IT IS NOW THURSDAY AFTERNOON AND MY PART HAS BEEN SNOWED IN . THERE IS NONE TO BER HAD IN THE WHOLE CITY OF TAMPA FLORIDA! I AM A SNOW BIRD AND AM THANKFUL I WASN'T ON THE ROAD TO MICHIGAN WHEN THIS HAPPENED. DRIVING 70 MPH ON INTERSTATE AND HAD BLOWOUT DUE TO SPLITTING OF GOODYEAR EAGLE LS 2 TIRE WITH ONLY 28000 MILES. TIRES PURCHASED ON NEW 2007 BUICK LACROSSE WITH 0 MILES. COULD HAVE CAUSED WRECK AND POSSIBLY DEATH. THIS HAPPENED AGAIN ON 9-6-20210 SAME SITUATION ON A SECOND TIRE. GOODYEAR WOULD NOT REPLACE ALL 4 TIRES EVEN THOUGH 2 BLEW OUT DUE TO SPLITTING OF TIRE. GOODYEAR ONLY PRO RATED THE TWO THAT WERE BLOWN AND I WOULD HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL OTHERS BLOW. THIS IS TOO DANGEROUS AND GOODYEAR NEEDS TO BE RESPONSIBLE. IF THE OTHERS BLOW AND THERE IS WRECK OR INJURY THERE WILL BE A LAWSUIT AND WANT IT NOTED THAT I HAVE REPORTED AND TRIED TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT BAD TIRES. ONLY HAVE THE DOT # FOR THE SECOND TIRE ONLY BECAUSE GOODYEAR DEALER KEPT THE FIRST BLOWN OUT TIRE. I HAVE NOT LET THEM HAVE THE SECOND TIRE YET. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TOO OLD AND HAD TOO MANY MILES. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AT THE OWNER'S EXPENSE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

MY WIFE IS HANDICAPPED HAS HAD MULTIPLE BACK SURGERIES AND NEEDS TO SIT ON A CUSHION ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. WHEN SHE SITS ON A CUSHION THE AIRBAG LIGHT SAYS THE AIRBAG IS NOT ON. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PALM AUTO MALL BUICK IN 2010 WHERE THEY REPLACED THE SENSOR IN THE SEAT. IT STILL SAYS THAT THE AIRBAG IS OFF WHEN SHE SITS ON THE CUSHION. I CONTACTED GM IN SPRING OF 2012 AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS IF IN FACT THE AIRBAG IS OFF. *TR
IN THE PAST SIX MONTHS, THE HEADLIGHTS ON MY 2007 BUICK LACROSSE HAVE TURNED OFF ON THEIR OWN SEVERAL TIMES. TWICE THIS HAS OCCURRED AT NIGHT AND TWICE DURING TWILIGHT. I OWN A BUICK LACROSSE, 2007 CXS MODEL AUTOMOBILE. THE HIGH PRESSURE FITTING TO THE POWER STEERING HAS NOW FAILED 2X IN 6 MONTHS. PART NUMBER IS GM88861206. FITTING FAILED AT THE POWER STEERING UNIT. CAUSED POWER STEERING LEAK AND LOSS OF POWER STEERING. DEALER HAS REPAIRED EXACT SAME PART NOW 2X IN 6 MONTHS. DEALER IS CLASSIC BUICK-PONTIAC IN PAINESVILLE OHIO 44077. *TR
PANEL LIGHTS BEGAN TO GO OUT ONE AT A TIME IN 2009. THE LOW BEAM HEAD LIGHTS WENT OUT ONE AT A TIME; WHEN REPLACED , BOTH WENT OUT AT THE SAME TIME. AFTER THAT BOTH HIGH BEAMS WENT OUT AT THE SAME TIME AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE DRIVER'S DOOR HANDLE HAS BROKEN TWICE IN 18 MONTHS. THE TRANSMISSION BEGAN TO SLIP AFTER THAT. THE DRIVER SEAT BELT LIGHT OFTEN REMAINED ON WHILE SEAT-BELT IS CONNECTED. WHILE TRAVELING ON A WET ROAD I ATTEMPTED TO BRAKE PRIOR TO A WATER PUDDLE WHEN THE CAR SLID SIDEWAYS OFF THE ROAD INTO A SOGGY-BOG AND SPUN 2.5 TIMES IN A CIRCLE IN APP. 12" OF MUD BEFORE IT STOPPED, AND HAD TO BE TOWED OUT. PRESENTLY, THE ABS SERVICE LIGHTS REMAIN ON, THE CLOCK AND RADIO LIGHTS ARE OUT, THE CD PLAYER DOES NOT FUNCTION AT ALL, THE SEAT BELT LIGHT MAY COME ON IN TRANSIT UNPROVOKED, GOING ON AND OFF FOR THE DURATION OF THE TRIP. IF CRUISE CONTROL IS NOT TURNED OFF WHEN PARKED THE GAS NEEDLE DROPS AS IF THERE IS A LEAK. IF THERE ARE NO OTHER RECALLS ON THIS CAR, THERE SHOULD BE! *TR

WHEN THE CONTACT MOVED THE DIMMER BUTTON, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL INDICATORS ILLUMINATED AGAIN, BUT THE HIGH BEAM HEADLIGHTS ILLUMINATED INSTEAD OF THE NORMAL BEAMS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TWICE AND THEY FOUND NO FAILURES; HOWEVER, THEY REPLACED A PART. THE CONTACT WAS UNSURE OF WHICH PART WAS REPLACED; HOWEVER, IT DID NOT CORRECT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 50,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TWICE AND THEY WERE ABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE AND PRODUCE AN ERROR CODE BOTH TIMES. THEY REPROGRAMMED THE ENGINE, WHICH REPAIRED THE FAILURE FOR APPROXIMATELY TWO OR THREE DAYS. DURING ONE OF THE VISITS, THE DEALER REPLACED A TRANSMITTER AND A THROTTLE BODY. THE REPAIRS WOULD LAST FOR APPROXIMATELY 3 OR 4 DAYS. THE VEHICLE STALLED AGAIN WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO BE RESTARTED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED AND REMAINS AT THE DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 16,755 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 17,334.

I OWN A 2007 BUICK LACROSSE CXL. IT HAS HAD A VIBRATION IN IT SINCE IT WAS DELIVERED. I DROVE IT UNTIL IT HAD 2,300 MILES ON IT TO SEE IF THE TIRES WOULD EVEN OUT, BUT THEY DID NOT, SO I TOOK THE CAR IN AND THE DEALER BALANCED THE WHEELS . THE VIBRATION WAS LESSENED, BUT STILL THERE. I ADDED AIR TO ALL THE TIRES TO A PRESSURE OF 30PSI COLD AND THIS HELPED BUT DID NOT ELIMINATE THE VIBRATION WHICH SEEMS TO BE IN THE REAR TIRES. I PUT MY CONCERNS ON THE DEALER PERFORMANCE FORM AND WAS CONTACTED BY A BUICK REPRESENTATIVE WHO ASSIGNED ME A CONFIRMATION NUMBER AND SAID THE CONCERN WOULD BE LOOKED AT BY BUICK, BUT HE COULD OFFER LITTLE IN THE WAY OF REMEDY. I AM STILL WORKING ON GETTING THE BRAKES FIXED. LAST TIME THEY TURNED THEM DUE TO "HARD SPOTS". WHEN I GO BACK FOR THE INSPECTION IN NOV. I HAVE TO HAVE THEM WORK ON THEM AGAIN. THE REPAIR SHOP'S REASON FOR NOT PERFORMING THE ENTIRE REPAIR WAS BECAUSE THE VEHICLE DID NOT HAVE SIDE AIR BAGS.
