WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT, THE HEADLIGHTS WILL TURN OFF. YOU ARE LEFT DRIVING BLIND AT FULL SPEED. IT HAS HAPPENED A NUMBER OF TIMES. I TOOK IT TO THE GARAGE AND THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE SO THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO FIX IT. WITH WINTER COMING ON AND SUNSET HAPPENING EARLIER EACH DAY, THE AMOUNT OF TIME DRIVING IN THE DARK INCREASES. THIS IS UNSAFE FOR MYSELF AND OTHER DRIVERS THAT MAY NOT SEE ME DUE TO MY HEADLIGHTS GOING OFF ALL OF THE SUDDEN. *TR

2007 BUICK LACROSSE. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO HEADLIGHT MODULE RECALL NOTICE PROBLEMS. *SMD THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THERE WAS NO FIX FOR THE PROBLEM. *JB
WE WERE STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT AND THE CAR JUST DIED. WE CALLED AAA AND BEFORE THEY GOT THERE THE CAR STARTED UP AGAIN. THEN WE RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM GM (RECALL #14299). SINCE PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE ACCORDING TO THE LETTER WE REMOVED EVERYTHING FROM THE KEYCHAIN LEAVING ONLY ONE SINGLE KEY AS INSTRUCTED. HOWEVER, OUR CAR AGAIN DIED ON AUGUST 21, 2014 BUT AFTER A FEW MINUTES STARTED UP AGAIN. TODAY, AUGUST 31, 2014 OUR BUICK DIED AGAIN IN THE LEFT TURN LANE STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT. WE HAD TO BE TOWED HOME BY AAA BECAUSE IT WOULD NOT START AGAIN. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!! WE ARE AN 80 YEAR OLD COUPLE AND WE ONLY HAVE THIS ONE CAR FOR TRANSPORTATION. WE CANNOT KEEP WORRYING ABOUT OUR CAR EVERYTIME WE DRIVE IT, MUCH LESS THE DANGERS OF HAVING AN ACCIDENT WHEN IT STALLS IN THE MOST UNEXPECTED PLACES AND TIMES. WE NEED A RENTAL CAR TO USE UNTIL GM CAN GET THESE PARTS. I DON'T THINK THAT I AM ASKING TOO MUCH. *TR
INTERMITTENT AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT GOES ON AND OFF FOR PASSENGER SEAT WHETHER OR NOT THE SEAT IS OCCUPIED. THIS HAS CONTINUED FOR TWO YEARS. ON-STAR FAILURE CODE IS ALWAYS B0092. I TOOK THE BUICK TO A DEALER WHO ATTEMPTED TO FIX IT TWICE WITHOUT LUCK. THE THRID TRIP FOR A "FIX" WOULD HAVE COST ME $ 1,200 WITHOUT ANY GUARANTEES. IT STILL IS IN USE BUT I NOW KEEP MY FINGERS CROSSED. THIS HAPPENS WHEN PARKED OR DRIVING.

THE POWER STEERING BECAME DIFFICULT MANEUVER. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSE THAT THE ENGINE WIRE HARNESS WAS DAMAGED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT, ALL OF A SUDDEN THE HEADLIGHTS WILL TURN OFF LEAVING YOU TRAVELLING ALONG THE HIGHWAY AT 60 TO 75 MPH (DEPENDING ON WHAT TYPE OF HIGHWAY, INTERSTATE OR LIMITED ACCESS ROADWAY YOU ARE ON). THIS LEAVES YOU MOVING WITH NO IDEA WHERE THERE IS A SAFE PLACE TO PULL OVER TO GET OUT OF THE TRAVEL LANES. THIS HAS OCCURRED NUMEROUS TIMES, AND I AM ASKING TO BE REIMBURSED FOR THE EXPENSE OF REPAIRING THIS DEFECT. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE. 2007 BUICK LACROSSE. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS RECALL REPAIRS. *LD THE CONSUMER RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE IN JANUARY 2015, FOR THE EXACT PROBLEM HE PAID TO HAVE FIXED ON JUNE 26, 2014. THE CONSUMER HAS SINCE SOLD THE VEHICLE. *JB
A IMPROPERLY SHIELDED WIRE GROUNDED OUT AND CAUSED THE UNDER HOOD FUSEBLOCK TO MELT, SOME REPORTS ON LINE STATE THAT THE CAR CAUGHT ON FIRE FROM THE SAME PROBLEM. CAME OUT OF RESTAURANT AND CAR WOULDN'T START. WHEN THE HOOD WAS RAISED WE COULD SMELL BURNING RUBBER. HAD I BEEN DRIVING IT COULD HAVE BEEN VERY SERIOUS REPORTED TO GM TO TRY TO GET REIMBURSED. SAID BECAUSE IT WASN'T ON RECALL THAT THEY COULD NOT HELP US. THE PURPOSE OF THE FUSE BOX AS WE UNDERSTAND IS TO PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 BUICK LACROSSE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE HEADLIGHTS SHUT OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE HEADLIGHT MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000.
A FEW TIMES THE HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT . DRIVING ON TWO LANE ROAD ONCE WAS CLOSE TO HEAD ON ACCIDENT . I DID EXTENSIVE TESTING TO FIND THAT THE HDM LOW BEAM HEAD LIGHT RELAY MANUFACTURED BY I THINK DELPHI WAS THE PROBLEM . I WENT TO AUTO SUPPLY BOUGHT THE HEAVIEST DUTY RELAY I COULD FIND . I REPLACED IT AN PROBLEM WAS SOLVED . THIS WAS BACK IN MAY OF 2014 . THEN IN JANUARY 2015 I RECEIVED RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM . I HAVE CONTACTED G.M. SEVERAL TIMES . I READ WHERE THEY STATE IF YOU HAVE PAID FOR THE REPAIR THEY WILL REIMBURSE OWNER FOR THE REPAIR . THIS IS BLACK AND WHITE PLAIN AND SIMPLY . I SUBMITTED FORM , RECEIPTS , ECT . ACCORDING TO THEIR REQUIREMENT ON THE RECALL LETTER . DOES NOT SAY I HAVE TO WAIT FOR SEVERAL MORE LETTERS OR SEVERAL YEARS IT IS ON THEIR RECALL LETTER .EVERYTHING THEY ASKED FOR TO THE STANDARDS . WHILE ON VACATION MESSAGE TO CALL . AFTER MANY CALLS AGAIN I WAS TOLD I HAVE TO WAIT FOR SECOND RECALL LETTER TO GET REIMBURSED . SHE STATED I HAVE TO TAKE IT TO DEALER . WHY SO I CAN HAVE ANOTHER DEFECTIVE RELAY INSTALLED . NOT GOING TO HAPPEN JUST REIMBURSE ME FOR THE CLAIM I SUBMITTED . I CAN'T RETURN A ONE YEAR OLD RELAY THAT IS FAR BETTER THAN THEIR DEFECTIVE RELAY .THEY CAN'T FIGURE A REMEDY OUT YET . IT HAS BEEN A YEAR NOW AND I AM STILL WAITING TO BE REIMBURSED BECAUSE I DID NOT RECEIVE THE SECOND RECALL NOTIFICATION BECAUSE THEY CAN'T FIGURE THIS OUT . DRIVING A CAR AT NIGHT WITHOUT HEADLIGHTS IS NOT SAFE AND NEITHER IS PUTTING ONE OF THEIR DEFECTIVE RELAYS BACK IN IT . THIS RELAY HAS BEEN NOTED TO NOT ONLY FAIL , BUT IT CAN MELT CAUSING WIRE HARNESS TO MELT AT A REPLACEMENT COST TO APPROACH $ 2,000 AND AN POSSIBLY AN ENGINE FIRE AND THAT COST VERY HIGH OR VEHICLE REPLACEMENT . JUST PAY ME THE MONEY OWED ...
THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT COMES ON WHILE THE CAR IS TRAVELING INDICATING THE AIRBAGS ARE MALFUNCTIONING. IT COMES ON AND OFF INTERMITTENTLY. I BROUGHT IN TO THE DEALER AND THEY CLEARED THE MALFUNCTION CODE AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN. THEY WANT TO CHANGE THE SENSOR UNDER THE SEAT FOR $1250 SINCE IT IS NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY. IT SEEMS TO OCCUR WHEN THE CAR IS IN MOTION GOING EITHER UP OR DOWN AN INCLINE.

ON JULY 20 I FILED A REPORT WITH THE IOWA ATTORNEY GENERAL. I NEXT RECEIVED A LETTER DATED JULY 27 FROM THE IOWA ATTORNEY GENERAL THAT ALL MY INFORMATION HAD BEEN SENT TO THE NHTSA. TODAY I CHECKED WITH THE NHTSA TO GET AN UPDATE ON WHAT IS HAPPENING. THEY SAID THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY RECORD ON MY PROBLEM. I CONTACTED THE IOWA ATTORNEY GENERAL OFFICE AND THEY ASSURED ME THAT EVERYTHING WAS FORWARDED ON JULY 27 TO THE NHTSA. I AM WANTING TO KNOW WHAT THE LATEST STATUS IS AND CURRENT INFORMATION. THE CONTACT EXITED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THAT THE FUSE BOX WAS ON FIRE. THE CONTACT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE AND REMOVED THE FUSE BOX. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND THEY STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING DIAGNOSIS OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. ORIGINAL OWNER OF A 2007 BUICK LACROSSE CXL. POWER STEERING PUMP FAILURE AT AROUND 85,000 MILES. POWER STEERING PUMP FAILED BECAUSE OF LEAKING HOSES. PRIMARY REASON FOR LEAK IS DUE TO LINES INCORRECTLY CRIMPED AROUND THE METAL LINE THAT ADHERES TO RUBBER HOSE. LINES CANNOT WITHSTAND PRESSURE AND START LEAKING INTERMITTENTLY UNTIL THEY COMPLETELY FAIL. I HAVE REPLACED POWER STEERING PUMP AND RACK AND PINION DUE TO FAULTY LINES DAMAGING THE WHOLE SYSTEM. I HAVE SEEN MANY INSTANCES ONLINE ABOUT PEOPLE HAVING TO REPLACE A COUPLE MONTHS LATER AFTER INITIAL REPLACEMENT. THIS IS A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT OF POWER STEERING LINES THAT ARE OUT ON THE MARKET. ANOTHER ISSUE IS THE CLUNKING SOUND THAT IS COMING FROM THE STEERING COLUMN. *TR

THE CONTACT PROCEEDED TO DRIVE HOME USING THE FOG LIGHTS AND HIGH BEAMS. THE FIRST TIME THE CONTACT EXPERIENCED THE FAILURE WAS IN DECEMBER OF 2013. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY THE DEALER ON MARCH 18, 2014. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE RECALL NOTICE WAS ISSUED AFTER THE CONTACT PAID FOR THE REPAIR AND THE MANUFACTURER WOULD NOT REIMBURSE THE CONTACT UNTIL THE PART WAS AVAILABLE AND THE REPAIR WAS COMPLETED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT SMOKE WAS ALSO EMITTING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THE SMOKE HAD ORIGINATED FROM THE FUSE BOX, WHICH HAD CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE FIRE WAS EXTINGUISHED BUT THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 82,000.
THE LOW BEAMS ON THIS VEHICLE HAD BEEN FLICKERING ON AND OFF AT NIGHT FOR A FEW DAYS. THEN THE LOW BEAMS WOULD NOT COME ON AT ALL ON THE NIGHT OF DECEMBER 2, 2012, HIGH BEAMS WORKED BUT THE SMELL OF BURNING PLASTIC FILLED THE CAR AND I IMMEDIATELY SHUT OFF THE ENGINE. UPON INSPECTION I FOUND ONE OF THE RELAYS, PRESUMABLY THE LOW BEAM RELAY, BURNED AND MELTED INSIDE THE FUSE BLOCK CAUSING A SMALL FIRE INSIDE THE FUSE COMPARTMENT WHICH FORTUNATELY CONTAINED THE FIRE BUT DESTROYED THE ENTIRE FUSE PANEL (BLOCK). THIS APPEARS TO BE A WELL DOCUMENTED AND COMMON PROBLEM ON THE 2007 BUICK LACROSSE AND YET THERE IS NO RECALL. THIS IS A TOP TIER SAFETY CONCERN AS IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THERE IS A FATALITY ASSOCIATED WITH THIS SAFETY ISSUE. I HAD THE CAR REPAIRED AT A BUICK DEALER FOR A TOTAL OF $616.15. THIS TYPE OF FAILURE SHOULD NOT HAPPEN ON A VEHICLE OF THIS AGE OR MILEAGE, YET I AM READING THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON TO EXPERIENCE THIS SAME EXACT ISSUE. I AM RESEARCHING ALL CLAIMS AND CONSIDERING A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM CORRECTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE VALVE STEM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THE SENSORS NEEDED TO BE RE-CALIBRATED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT AFTER THE REPAIRS, THE TIRES WERE CONTINUOUSLY LOOSING AIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 46,000.

I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH MY LOW BEAM HEADLAMPS FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS NOW NOT TURNING ON AT NIGHT OR THEY BEGIN TO FLICKER ON AND OFF CAUSING ME TO DRIVE WITH MY HIGH BEAMS ON.. BUT TODAY I SMELLED AN ELECTRICAL FIRE AS I PARKED AND EXITED MY CAR AND SAW SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD AND IT TURNS OUT THE RELAY FOR THE HEADLAMPS WAS BURNING AND MELTED. I REMOVED IT BUT IT CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE OTHER RELAYS NEXT TO THIS ONE AND MELTED THE ACTUAL FUSE CENTER. I HAVEN'T CHECKED FOR POSSIBLE DAMAGE TO OTHER COMPONENTS OF MY CAR YET BUT I WILL IN THE MORNING... I WAS HAVING INTERMITTENT HEADLIGHT ISSUES WITH MY CAR, I WOULD DRIVE AND THE HEADLIGHTS WOULD RANDOMLY SHUT OFF, I WOULD PULL OVER AND THEY WOULD COME BACK ON ABOUT 3 MINUTES LATER. ON THE NIGHT OF APRIL 13, I WAS AT THE MALL AND WHEN RETURNING TO MY CAR, IT WOULDN'T START. I HAD THE CAR JUMPED AND THE FUSE BOX CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE HEADLIGHT RELAY HAD MELTED AND DESTROYED MY FUSE BOX. I HAD MY FUSE BOX REPLACED AND AGAIN, EVERYTHING WAS FINE FOR ABOUT 2 WEEKS, WHEN I STARTED GETTING THE INTERMITTENT ISSUE AGAIN. LAST NIGHT, MAY 1ST, MY CAR AGAIN DIED. THIS TIME, ALL FUSES AND RELAYS WERE REMOVED BEFORE JUMP STARTING MY CAR, BUT YOU CAN LOOK AT THE RELAY AND SEE THAT IT HAS BEEN MELTING ONCE AGAIN. I'VE RESEARCHED ONLINE AND CAN'T FIND A PROPER FIX FOR THIS. THE RELAY HAS BEEN REPLACED AND IT'S NOT FIXING THE PROBLEM. *TR

WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY ONE NIGHT THE LOW BEAMS SUDDENLY WENT OUT. I WAS FORCE TO USE THE HIGH BEAMS UNTIL I COULD PULL OVER. INSIDE THE CAR I COULD SMELL SOMETHING BURNING, SOMETHING ELECTRICAL. ONCE I PULLED OVER I NOTICE SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD AND THAT THE FUSE BLOCK UNDER THE HOOD WAS ON FIRE, WHICH HOLD FUSES AND RELAYS. NOISE LIKE RUBBING SOUND COMING FROM STEERING COLUMN AREA. STEERING GEAR WAS REPLACED ONCE, PROBABLY TWO YEARS AGO AND NOW MAKING SAME SOUND AS BEFORE. THE TIRES HAVE BEEN REPLACED REPEATEDLY ON THIS VEHICLE AND IT STILL FEELS LIKE IT IS HOPPING OR WALKING INSTEAD OF ROLLING. THIS OCCURS MOST PROMINENTLY IN THE MORNING AT STARTUP AND WILL CONTINUE UP TO 50 MPH AND BEYOND. THE MECHANICS WILL NOT RECOGNIZE THE PROBLEM AND HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET AUTHORIZATION FROM GM REGIONAL TO DO ANYTHING OTHER THAN CHARGE A FEE FOR FURTHER DIAGNOSIS. THIS PROBLEM EXISTED FROM THE TIME THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED AND THE DEALERSHIPS SHARE INFORMATION AND WILL NOT INDEPENDENTLY DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. I HAVE REQUESTED GM AND BUICK TO PROVIDE A MECHANIC THAT IS FAMILIAR WITH THIS PROBLEM AND CAN RESOLVE IT, BUT THEY REFUSE TO ACT. I AM NOT AT ALL HAPPY WITH THE PERFORMANCE OF THE VEHICLE AND WAS UNDER THE BELIEF THAT THE DEALERSHIP AND BUICK OR GM WOULD MAKE IT RIGHT. I WILL NOT RECOMMEND EITHER THE DEALERSHIP OR GM OR BUICK TO ANYONE. I DO NOT OWN ANOTHER CAR SO I HAVE SPENT MANY DAYS WITHOUT A VEHICLE DURING DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIRS AND CANNOT TOLERATE SITTING FOR 4-6 HOURS IN THE DEALERSHIP OR GOING WITHOUT TRANSPORTATION WILL THIS IS ADDRESSED.

THE DIAGNOSIS WAS THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING 60 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 23,000.
