ON OCTOBER 25, 2012, WE TOOK OUR BUICK LACROSSE IN TO SUNRISE CHEVROLET/BUICK DEALERSHIP, COLLIERVILLE, TN. THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG INDICATOR HAD BEEN SHOWING "OFF" WHEN A PASSENGER WAS SEATED. IT WOULD SOMETIMES COME BACK ON, BUT DID THIS REPEATEDLY. THE DEALERSHIP "FIXED" IT, SAYING IT WAS A "PASSENGER PRESENCE MODULE" WHICH THEY REPLACED IN THE AMOUNT OF $855.43, PARTS AND LABOR (NOT TAX). DURING THE LAST TWO MONTHS, THE SAME THING HAS BEEN HAPPENING WITH THE INDICATOR SHOWING "OFF" WHEN A PASSENGER IS SEATED AND SOMETIMES COMING BACK ON. THE MILEAGE ON VEHICLE NOW IS 80,500. THIS WOULD SEEM TO US TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE AND IT WOULD SEEM THAT GM SHOULD BEAR RESPONSIBILITY FOR CORRECTING IT AT NO COST TO US. WE FEEL SURE THAT WE ARE NOT THE ONLY ONES EXPERIENCING THIS FAULT. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 BUICK LACROSSE. THE CONTACT STATED THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE LOCK FAILED TO LOCK AND UNLOCK INTERMITTENTLY. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED WHEN ACTIVATING THE KEY FOB TO CHECK IF THE DOOR WAS LOCKED, THE REAR DOOR ALARM SOUNDED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DRIVER DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR AND THE DOOR HANDLE NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER SHORTLY AFTER THE REPAIR, THE PASSENGER AND BOTH REAR DOOR LOCKS FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 10,078.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 BUICK LACROSSE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE COIL AND MOTHER BOARD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE REPAIRS WERE UNKNOWN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 136,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. UPDATED 11/09/15*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED AT THE TIME OF THE FIRST COIL REPLACEMENT, HE ASKED THE DEALER IF IT WAS A COMMON PROBLEM AND THE DEALER STATED IT WAS NOT. AFTER THE FIRST INCIDENT IN 2012, IN WHICH THE COIL AND MOTHER BOARD WERE REPLACED, THE EXACT FAILURE OCCURRED IN 2015. THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THE COIL AND MOTHER BOARD NEED TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $700. DURING BOTH INCIDENTS, THE VEHICLE SHUT DOWN WHILE IN THE MIDST OF DRIVING. UPDATED 01/05/16. *JB
I WAS TRAVELING AT 35 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE JUST STOPPED RUNNING. I HAD ALL I COULD DO TO GET THE VEHICLE STOPPED AND OFF THE ROAD BECAUSE NEITHER THE BRAKES OR POWER STEERING WOULD WORK. *TR
THE AIRBAG READINESS LIGHT HAS BEEN TURNED ON FOR THE LAST COUPLE OF DAYS SO I TOOK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND FOUND OUT THAT IT WAS A FAULTY RIGHT FRONT SEAT MAT ASSEMBLY. THEY REPLACED IT AT A COST OF $710. I DO NOT THINK THIS SHOULD HAVE FAILED. APPROXIMATELY 6 MONTHS AGO THE PASSENGER AIRBAG STATUS INDICATOR LIGHT INDICATED THAT IT WAS NOT WORKING EVEN WITH A PERSON SITTING THERE AND SEATBELT ON. THEY CLEANED CORRODED CONNECTIONS. IT CERTAINLY APPEARS A DEFECT IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF THESE AIRBAG INDICATORS. THIS SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. *TR
HEADLIGHTS WENT OFF WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH IN THE DARK AND NO NEARBY LIGHT SOURCES WERE PRESENT. TURNED HEADLIGHT CONTROL TO MANUAL AND STILL NO HEADLIGHTS. STOPPED VEHICLE AND EVERYTHING BUT THE HEADLIGHTS WERE STILL WORKING. TURNED OFF THE AIR CONDITIONING, THE FAN, THE RADIO, AND STILL NO HEADLIGHTS. TURNED CAR OFF AND BACK ON, STILL NO HEADLIGHTS. TURNED CAR OFF AGAIN AND WAITED 5 MINUTES AND RESTARTED CAR AND HEADLIGHTS CAME ON. THIS HAS HAPPENED 2 TIMES NOW, 3 MONTHS APART. DEALERSHIP DENIED ANY KNOWLEDGE OF THIS PROBLEM THE 1ST TIME I TALKED TO THEM, BUT ADMITS NOW THAT SEVERAL OTHER PEOPLE HAVE ALSO TRIED TO GET THIS PROBLEM FIXED BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. IF I HAD BEEN DRIVING ON A CURVE, I WOULD MOST LIKELY BE DEAD NOW AND THEY WOULD BE GUESSING WHY I RAN OFF THE ROAD (USER ERROR), WHEN THEY KNOW THERE IS A DEFECT IN DESIGN. LIGHT SWITCH ON MANUAL SHOULD BYPASS EVERYTHING EXCEPT THE FUSE. *TR
WE HAVE A PROBLEM WITH OUR AUTOMATIC POWER DOOR LOCKS AND THE REMOTE START FEATURE. THEY DON'T WORK, EITHER BY KEY FOB OR THE POWER DOOR LOCK BUTTONS IN THE CAR. THE ONLY WAY WE CAN LOCK OUR DOORS IS MANUALLY. WE TOOK TO THE DEALER BELIEVING IT TO BE JUST THE DRIVERS DOOR BUT THEY TOLD US ALL OUR DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, CLOSE TO $1000.00 REPAIR WITH NO GUARANTEE THAT THE ACTUATORS ARE THE TRUE PROBLEM. AFTER GOING ON THE NHTSA SITE I SEE THAT WE ARE NOT ALONE WITH THESE PROBLEM. I CAN UNDERSTAND A ACTUATOR GOING BAD, BUT NOT ALL OF THEM AT ONE TIME. I AM A FORMER DEALERSHIP GSM AND VERY AWARE OF "NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR" AND "DEFECTS". I'VE NEVER IN MY 35 YEARS IN THE BUSINESS SEEN THIS WITH DOOR LOCKS. I WAS INSULTED BY THEIR OFFER TO REPAIR THEM. *TR
THE POWER DOOR LOCKS DO NOT WORK EITHER WITH DOOR SWITCHES OR THE REMOTE FAB. ONLY WAY TO LOCK OR UNLOCK DOORS IS TO MANUALLY LOCK OR UNLOCK DOORS, EXCEPT DRIVERS DOOR WHICH WILL LOCK AND UNLOCK WITH KEY. REMOTE START DOESN'T WORK BECAUSE DOOR CAN'T BE LOCKED WITH FAB. TOOK TO DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT ALL 4 DOORS NEEDED TO HAVE THE ACTUATORS REPLACED. PRICED OVER $1000.00. THEY OFFERED TO PAY $350.00. IT SEEMS TO ME THAT THERE ARE PROBLEMS WITH THE CONTROL UNIT THAT SENDS SIGNALS TO ACTUATORS, BOTH BY DOOR SWITCHES AND THE FAB. BASED ON THE COMPLAINTS FILED I AM NOT ALONE WITH, NOT ONLY, THIS VERY EXPENSIVE PROBLEM, BUT A SEVERE SAFETY ISSUE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 BUICK LACROSSE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FOUR POWER DOOR LOCKS FAILED TO UNLATCH OR LATCH WHEN ACCESSED THEM WITH THE KEY FOB. THE MALFUNCTION RECURRED SPORADICALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE BOTH REAR DOOR LOCKS WERE REPLACED AT THE MANUFACTURER'S EXPENSE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS 2008 BUICK LACROSSE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE THE BRAKES WERE DEPRESSED THE VEHICLE MADE A LOUD FRICTION SOUND AND THE AIR BAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSE THAT THE FRONT BRAKE HUB SPEED SENSOR, THE WIRING HARNESS AND THE PASSENGER AIR BAG WIRING CONNECTOR TERMINAL WERE DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR WAS DEFECTIVE AND CAUSED A BLINDING SPOT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 20,500. UPDATED 11/9/2012 *JS
AIR BAG REGISTERED AS OFF WHEN A PERSON WAS SEATED IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. SENSOR WAS REPLACED AND AFTER 18 MONTHS THE SAME PROBLEM IS RECURRING. THE AIR BAG WILL BE ON THEN SWITCH OFF AND ON ALL WHILE A PERSON IS SITTING IN THE SEAT AND NOT DOING ANYTHING OTHER THAN SITTING. CURRENT MILEAGE FOR 2ND RECURRENCE IS 46,150. ALSO THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE GOING OFF FOR NO APPARENT REASON AT NIGHT WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. HIGH BEAMS MUST BE USED WHEN THIS OCCURS. THE PASSENGER DOOR LOCK WILL NOT OPEN OR LOCK WHEN THE REMOTE IS USED OR THE DOOR LOCK BUTTON ON THE DOOR. THE HOOD WILL ALSO NOT STAY UP AS THE HYDRAULIC LIFTERS DO NOT HOLD. *TR
AIRBAG DISPLAY SHOWS AIRBAG OFF INTERMITTENTLY WITH SEATBELT ON WITH AN ADULT IN PASSENGER SEAT WHILE MOVING ON HIGHWAY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 BUICK LACROSSE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE EXTERIOR LIGHTING DIMMED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V755000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING); HOWEVER, THE PART NEEDED TO COMPLETE THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.
THE PASSENGER AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT WILL COME ON WHEN I'M DRIVING AND NO ONE IS EVEN SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. ANYTHING SITTING ON THE SEAT WEIGHS MUCH LESS THAN THE 80 LBS SPECIFIED IN THE MANUAL. SOMETIMES THE LIGHT WILL COME ON WHEN I HAVE A PASSENGER SITTING THERE, INDICATING THAT THE AIR BAGS ARE OFF - WHEN THEY SHOULD BE ON!!! THERE IS NO EVENT THAT CONSISTENTLY TRIGGERS THE LIGHT COMING ON. I MIGHT BE TURNING OR SLOWING DOWN OR JUST DRIVING DOWN A STRAIGHT ROAD. SOMETIMES, THE LIGHT WILL STAY ON FOR A COUPLE OF MINUTES, AND SOMETIMES IT WILL STAY ON FOR MORE THAN TEN MINUTES. I'VE TAKEN MY CAR TO THE DEALER FIVE TIMES IN THE FOUR YEARS I'VE OWNED THE CAR, AND THE FIRST FOUR TIMES, THE DEALER FIXED IT AT NO CHARGE. THIS TIME, THE DEALER SAYS IT "HAS GONE ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE PASSENGER DETECTION MODULE AND IT WILL COST YOU $1250 TO FIX IT." A PASSENGER DETECTION MODULES SOUNDS RATHER IMPORTANT TO ME, AND VERY MUCH A SAFETY ISSUE, BUT THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID THAT IF THERE'S NO RECALL, IT'S CUSTOMER PAY. WITH THE NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS MADE ON THIS SITE FOR THIS IDENTICAL ISSUE, I'D SAY IT'S HIGHLY LIKELY THAT THERE ARE MANY MORE CARS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM, BUT THEIR OWNERS JUST DON'T KNOW ABOUT THIS SITE. IS IT NECESSARY FOR A CERTAIN NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS BEFORE AN INVESTIGATION IS MADE? I GUESS MY HUSBAND WILL JUST HAVE TO TRUST HIS LUCK - HE'S THE ONE GENERALLY SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT!! *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS 2008 BUICK LACROSSE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ALL THE DOORS HAD BECOME INOPERABLE AND AS A RESULT, THE DOOR LOCKS FAILED TO UNLOCK OR LOCK. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT IN ONE OCCASION THE DOORS FAILED TO UNLOCK WHICH PREVENTED HER FROM EXITING THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE SEAT SENSOR AND THE PTS MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE PTS MODULE WAS REPLACED ON TWO OTHER OCCASIONS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
MY PASSENGER AIRBAG HAS NOT BEEN WORKING SINCE 2010.WE TOOK IT TO MCEELVEEN BUICK IN SUMMERVILLE,SC IN 2011.THEY SAID IT WAS THE WIRING HARNESS. NEED TO BE REPLACED. WE COULDN'T AFFORD IT. WHY IS THERE NOT A RECALL ON THIS MODEL,BUT ON THE ENCLAVE? *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 BUICK LACROSSE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE DISPLAYED AN INCORRECT FUEL LEVEL EVEN THOUGH FUEL WAS IN THE FUEL TANK. THEN, THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESTART AND WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THEY ADVISED THAT THE FUEL TANK WAS EMPTY. THE TECHNICIAN DISPENSED ONE GALLON OF FUEL INTO THE FUEL TANK AND WAS UNABLE TO DETECT A PROBLEM. THE FAILURE HAD NOT YET RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. I HAVE HAD TWO FAILURE INCIDENTS WITH THE JACK AND THE LUG WRENCH THAT CAME WITH MY VEHICLE FROM BUICK. APPROXIMATE 1 YEAR AGO I WAS USING THE JACK FOR THE FIRST TIME AND IT CAME APART WITH THE VEHICLE RAISED ON IT. BUICK REPLACED THE JACK. I WAS USING THE REPLACEMENT JACK FOR THE FIRST TIME LAST WEEK AND THE ORIGINAL LUG WRENCH SPLIT AT THE SOCKET END. THIS WAS THE SECOND TIME THIS WRENCH WAS USED. I AM CONCERNED THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE JACK/WRENCH DESIGN OR METAL IT IS MADE OUT OF. I HAVE CONTACTED BUICK ABOUT THE PROBLEM BUT HAVE NOT HEARD BACK FROM THEM. *TR
THE POWER STEERING IS MAKING A WHINING NOISE. THIS IS A FAIRLY NEW CAR AND IT'S NOT NORMAL TO HEAR THIS ALL THE TIME. BROUGHT IT TO A DEALERSHIP WHO COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG OTHER THAN THE SOUND. IT IS OBVIOUSLY GOING BUT ISN'T AT THAT POINT YET, PROBLEM BEING MY WARRANTY WILL EXPIRE BY THE TIME IT DOES. *TR

THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG MAY NOT DEPLOY WHILE IN A CRASH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO WERE BOTH UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,000. COULD NOT UNDERSTAND WHY MY 2008 BUICK LACROSSE COULD NOT HANDLE LOW SPEED SNOW AND ICE ISSUES WITHOUT MY REAR END SWAYING. I REPLACED THE ALL THE TIRES AND STILL HAD ISSUES WITHREAR SWAYING ON SNOW AND ICE OVER 30 MILES PER HOUR. *TR

WHILE DRIVING AT 55MPH I RAN OVER A ROAD BUMP AND MY 2008 BUICK LACROSSE SUPER SHUT OFF(STALLED). I COASTED TO THE BURM, HIT BRAKES TO A STOP. THE CAR STARTED ON THE FIRST TRY. AIRBAG LIGHT CONSISTENTLY GOING OFF AND ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. HAVE IT AT THE DEALER NUMEROUS TIMES BUT THE SAME PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. *TR
THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR LOCATED IN THE GAS TANK HAS FAILED THREE TIMES IN THE PAST THREE YEARS. EACH TIME THE DEALER HAS REPLACED THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR. THIS HAS OCCURRED FIRST IN DEC. 2008 (7574 MILES), THEN NOV. 2009 (21145 MILES), AND NOW DEC. 2010 (37344 MILES). THE SERVICE TECH AT THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME THAT THIS PROBLEM IS FAIRLY COMMON (IN FACT, WHEN I TOOK THE CAR IN FOR REPAIR THIS TIME, THERE WAS A PONTIAC AZTEC WITH THE SAME PROBLEM BEING REPAIRED). THE TECH ALSO TOLD ME THAT THE CAUSE IS SULFUR IN THE GAS CAUSING THE SMALL WIRES IN THE SENSOR TO CORRODE AND EVENTUALLY BREAK. THE MODULE ERROR CODE ERROR IS P0463.
ON 3 OCCASIONS WHEN THE WEATHER IS COLD HERE IN SACRAMENTO CA , EARLY MORNING HOURS , I DEPRESSED MY BRAKE PEDAL TO STOP FOR A STOP SIGN AND THE CAR DID NOT STOP JUST KEPT GOING , IT HAS DONE THIS 3 TIMES WHILE THE WEATHER WAS REALLY DAMP AND COLD , I TOOK IT TO A DEALER HERE IN SACRAMENTO AND THEY COULD NOT GET IT TO DUPLICATE , BUT THEY ARE WRONG , THEY TESTED THE CAR AT MID AFTERNOON WHEN IS WAS WARM OUTSIDE , LIKE I SAID IT ONLY DOES IT WHEN ITS REALLY COLD I HAVE 4 WHEEL DISC BRAKES AND IT'S LIKE THE BRAKES GRAB BUT DON'T STOP. *TR
REMOTE, REMOTE STARTER (RKE) FOB FOR CAR STOPPED WORKING PROPERLY. REPLACED BATTERIES EVEN THOUGH DIC DID NOT SHOW BATTERIES NEEDED CHANGING. THIS MAYBE A PROBLEM ALSO. SOMETIMES IT WORKS, SOMETIMES IT DOESN'T. WORKED PERFECTLY FINE, THEN PROBLEMS STARTED. 99% OF THE TIME IT WILL NOT START THE CAR. 50% OF THE TIME IT WILL OR WILL NOT, LOCK OR UNLOCK CAR. I HAVE TRIED RESETTING AND/OR PERSONALIZING KEYS & FOB THROUGH DIC CENTER. CAR WILL SOUND HORN TO SHOW IT HAS BEEN RESET PROPERLY, BUT ISN'T. STILL DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY ALSO WHEN USING RKE, THE DOOR LOCK KNOB WILL NOT COME UP ALL THE WAY AND THE DOOR IS NOT UNLOCKED. ALSO, THE DOOR LICK KNOW WILL NOT GO DOWN ALL THE WAY IF I USE THE RKE FOB. IF I USE THE KEY TO UNLOCK THE DOOR, THE DOOR KNOB WILL COME UP ALL THE WAY AND THE DOOR WILL UNLOCK. IF I USE THE RKE FOB TO LOCK THE DOOR, THE DOOR KNOB WILL NOT GO DOWN ALL THE WAY AND THE DOOR WILL NOT BE LOCKED. I HAVE TRIED USING THE FOB AWAY FROM ALL POSSIBLE INTERFERENCE WHICH I DO NOT THINK IS THE PROBLEMS, IT STILL ONLY WORKS SOMETIMES. *TR

I HAVE A 2008 BUICK LACROSSE CXL WHICH I PURCHASED 04/29/2008. AT ABOUT 3,000 MILES I NOTICED THE PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT WOULD COME ON INTERMITTENTLY SHOWING THE BAG WAS OFF EVEN THOUGH MY WIFE WAS IN THE SEAT AND BUCKLED UP. I TOOK THE UNIT INTO THE LOCAL DEALER AND THE SERVICE ADVISOR TOLD THEY COULDN'T CHECK FOR A CODE UNLESS THE "OFF" LIGHT WAS SHOWING WHEN SOMEONE WAS IN THE SEAT. LATER THE INDICATOR LAMP STARTED COMING ON AND WOULD STAY ON (SHOWING THE AIR BAG WAS OFF) FOR MILES. I RETURNED TO THE DEALER I PURCHASED THE CAR FROM AND THEY CHECKED ALL CONNECTORS AND PINS. IT DID NOT MALFUNCTION WHEN THEY TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE BUT THE MALFUNCTION RETURNED ON THE WAY HOME. THIS DEALER HAS RECHECKED THE VEHICLE TWO TIMES TO NO AVAIL, THE LIGHT STILL COMES ON. I HAVE FOUND IF I HAVE MY WIFE MOVE THE SEAT FORWARD AND/OR BACKWARD THE LIGHT WILL GO OF FOR A WHILE, (THE TIME VARIES WITH THE ROAD CONDITIONS E.G. ROUGH, SMOOTH, STRAIGHT, CURVY AND SO FORTH). I FOUND ANOTHER INSTANCE ON LINE WHERE A 2009 LACROSSE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AS MINE. A FIX WAS NOT PROVIDED IN THEIR INVESTIGATION OF THE VEHICLE. BUICK DOESN'T LIST ANY TECHNICAL BULLETINS PERTAINING TO THIS MALFUNCTION. THIS IS A VERY DIS-CONCERNING ISSUE ANY TIME WE DRIVE AND I SUPPOSE IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE ALSO. *TR

THIS CAR IS A LACROSSE SUPER WITH A 5.3 LITER SUPER CHARGED ENGINE. IN THE PROMOTIONAL MATERIAL PRODUCED FOR THE CAR IT INDICATES THE CAR IS EQUIPPED WITH LARGER BRAKES BECAUSE OF THE POWER OF THE CAR. IN 2013 I WENT TO REPLACE THE FRONT BRAKES ON THE CAR AND PURCHASED THE PADS THAT WERE MANUFACTURED FOR THIS MAKE AND MODEL EQUIPPED WITH THE 5.3 SUPER CHARGED ENGINE. WHEN I WENT TO INSTALL THEM THEY WERE TO LARGE FOR THE CALIPERS AND NOTICEABLY LARGER THAN THE ONES ON THE CAR. UPON RETURNING THE PARTS STORE AND LENGTHY SEARCHING IT WAS DETERMINED THE BRAKING SYSTEM ON THE CAR IS THAT OF THE 2008 LUCERNE WITH 275-HP 4.6-LITER V-8. THE LACROSSE WITH A 5.3-LITER, 300-HP SUPER CHARGED V8. GM TO DATE HAS REFUSED TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE WHICH UNDER CERTAIN DRIVING CONDITIONS COULD BE A DANGER. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 BUICK LACROSSE. THE CONTACT WAS EXPERIENCING EXTREME DIFFICULTY WITH THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AIR BAG SYSTEM SENSOR. HE HAS A HEALTH CONDITION THAT HAS AFFECTED HIS HEIGHT AND USES A SEAT CUSHION IN THE VEHICLE. WHILE IN THE DRIVER SEAT, THE CUSHION IS FINE BUT WHEN HE RIDES IN THE PASSENGER SEAT, HE IS UNABLE TO USE THE CUSHION BECAUSE IT SETS OFF THE SENSOR AND DEACTIVATES THE AIR BAG. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN BECAUSE HE IS UNABLE TO RIDE IN THE PASSENGER SIDE OF HIS VEHICLE WITH A WORKING AIR BAG. THE MANUFACTURER WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE. YESTERDAY, IN ADDITION, THE CRUISE CONTROL WILL SET ITSELF AUTOMATICALLY, WITHOUT THE DRIVER TOUCHING A BUTTON. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS, ESPECIALLY IN WHITE FOR SLIPPERY ROAD CONDITIONS.
