BOUGHT 2002 BUICK RENDEZVOUS CXL FROM CARMAX WITH 29K MILES. SEEMED TO RUN OK FOR FIRST COUPLE MONTHS...AT AROUND 36K MILES, THE CONDENSER WENT OUT AT THE SAME TIME AS THE ODOMETER STARTED TO DISPLAY "ERROR". UNACCEPTABLE FOR CONDENSER TO FAIL WITH JUST 3 YEARS OF LIGHT USE. ALSO, HAD TO REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL TO GET RID OF ERROR - TOOK A WEEK TO SHIP THE ERROR PANEL TO FACTORY SO THEY COULD READ MILEAGE AND SET ON A NEW PANEL TO SHIP BACK TO THE DEALER. LUCKILY I PURCHASED EXTENDED WARRANTY, BUT I STILL HAVE A 75 DEDUCTABLE FOR EVERY REPAIR AND RENTAL VEHICLE IS NOT COVERED.
PURCHASED 2002 BUICK RENDEZVOUS IN APRIL 2005 WITHIN A MONTH STARTED TO EXPERIENCE LOCKS TURNING ON AND OFF ,A/C ALSO WOULD TURN ON AND OFF WHILE DRIVING. CAR BEGAN RUNNING HOT THIS SPRING HAD TO REPLACE MANIFOLD GASKETS ,STILL OVERHEATING . NOW CAR IS NO LONGER RUNNING NEEDS MAJOR REPAIR OWE MORE THAN ITS WORTH. *TR
ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SENSOR FAILED WHICH CAUSED EXCESSIVE MOVEMENT IN THE BRAKE PEDAL WHEN STOPPING. IN ADDITION, THIS SENSOR CAUSED THE TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM TO DISENGAGE AND CREATED DIFFICULTY IN STOPPING THE VEHICLE. IN SOME INSTANCES THE BRAKE PEDAL WOULD DEPRESS ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR OF THE VEHICLE WHEN ATTEMPTING TO STOP. BUICK WOULD NOT HONOR THE WARRANTY ON THIS PART. AS A RESULT, I PAID $700 FOR THE REPAIR ON THIS PART. *TR
AT A SLOW TURNING SPEED THE BRAKES GIVE OUT AND YOU HAVE TO RE-PUMP THE BRAKES FOR THE BRAKES TO WORK AGAIN . ALSO WHEN YOU MAKE A TURN IT SOUNDS LIKE SOMTHING IS STRAINING ( SOUNDS LIKE A BUNCH OF DYING COWS ARE UNDER THE HOOD OF THE CAR ) HAD THE CAR IN TWICE AND WAS TOLD I AM TURNING THE CAR TO HARD AND THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE BRAKES ! I HAVE ALMOST HAD TWO ACCIDENTS BECAUSE OF THE BRAKES AND THE MOANING UNDER THE HOOD OF THE CAR IS GETTING WORSE .THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE THEY END OF APRIL 2005. *JB

NOTICED FLUID ON GARAGE FLOOR BEHIND RIGHT FRONT TIRE, TOOK TO DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THE INTAKE AND HEAD GASKETS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.
PARKING BRAKE GOES TO THE FLOOR. DOES NOT HOLD THE CAR. HAS BEEN FIXED AT LEAST 6 TIMES.*AK
THE SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT CAME ON. MY MANUAL SUGGESTED THIS HAS TO DO WITH THE EMMISSIONS SYSTEM AND MY PERSON THAT DOES MY OIL CHANGES HAD TOLD ME THAT THEY SHOULD CHANGE THE FUEL FILTER AND CLEAN EMISSIONS SYSTEM. I TOOK AND HAD THE PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED DONE. LIGHT STILL ON. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO DEALER WHO SAID THAT THE COMPUTER INDICATED A TRANSMISSION SOLONOID BUT THEY WOULD REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION FLUID AND FILTER AND HOPE THAT WOULD UNSTICK SOLONOID. TO DRIVE FOR A FEW DAYS AND SEE IF IT CLEARED. LIGHT STAYED ON. I TOOK TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND HE TOOK TRANSMISSION APART, CHECKED ALL PARTS (INCLUDING THE SOLONOID) ALL PARTS WERE FINE. HOWEVER, HE DID PUT IN A NEW SOLONOID. LIGHT WAS STILL ON. HE CONSULTED GM (BUICK) DATABASE TO LEARN THAT THIS IS A WIRING PROBLEM THAT GM IS AWARE OF. THAT THERE IS A SHORT SOMEWHERE IN THE WIRING AND CAN CAUSE TRANSMISSION TO BURN UP.
WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED A LOUD NOISE WAS HEARD COMING FROM THE REAR. CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION, AND WAS WAITING FOR RESULTS. *AK CONSUMER WAS TOLD THAT LOUD POPPING NOISE COULD SPARK A FIRE. *LA THE CONSUMER WAS TOLD THE NOISE WAS NORMAL. *JB
TRANSMISSION WAS KICKING IN AND OUT AND FOUND OUT FROM TRANSMISSION DEALER THAT THE ELECTRICAL CARRIAGE WAS BURNT AND REPAIRED/REPLACED. NOW THE GAS GAUGE DOES NOT WORK, AIR CONDITIONER QUIT AND SENSOR FOR REVERSING QUIT AS WELL. WE ARE WONDERING IF THIS CARRIAGE ISSUE WOULD CONTROL THESE OTHER ISSUES? THERE ARE A NUMBER OF ISSUES THAT CONTINUES TO BE A PROBLEM, THAT APPEARS TO BE SENSOR/ELECTRICAL RELATED. WE HAVE ALSO HAD SEVERAL INSTANCES LATELY WHERE THE CAR WOULD STALL. WE THOUGHT IT WAS THE BATTERY, BUT THE BATTERY WAS FINE. *JB
I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALER COMPLAINING OF A RUBBING/CLUNKING NOISE WHILE DRIVING. THE DIAGNOSIS WAS THE EXHAUST WAS BENT AND WAS RUBBING ON THE DRIVESHAFT. DEALER REPLACED COMPLETE EXHAUST SYSTEM AND DRIVESHAFT. I WAS TOLD THIS COULD ONLY HAVE HAPPENED DUE TO REAR END IMPACT. NO IMPACT OCCURRED THAT I AM AWARE OF AND NO VISIBLE DAMAGE TO VEHICLE. I CONTACTED MY INSURANCE COMPANY AND THEY INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND DID NOT FIND ANY EVIDENCE OF REAR END DAMAGE. THEY SUSPECT DESIGN/SAFETY DEFECT AND ASKED THE DEALER TO PROVIDE THEM WITH THE DRIVE SHAFT. DEALER SAID THEY HAVE SEEN THIS HAPPEN ONE OTHER TIME. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THIS VEHICLE
BOTH FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS NEED REPLACED AT 67,000 MILES. ALONG WITH RIGHT AXLE. BEARINGS SQUEAL. RIGHT AXLE HAS CRUNCHING NOISE ALONG WITH
37,700 MILE VEHICLE DIDN'T BLOW HEAT. NEXT DAY VEHICLE OVERHEATED IN TOWN. AFTER COOLANT FLUSH AND AIR BLEED VEHICLE OVERHEATED ON HIGHWAY. DEALER DIAGNOSED BAD HEAD GASKET AND REPLACED AT OWNERS' EXPENSE MINUS PARTS.*AK
LOW ROAR IN FRONT UNDERSIDE OF VEHICLE, 53,000 MILES. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP. TOLD IT WAS A FRONT WHEEL BEARING AND WOULD COST $450+ AND $36 DIAGNOSTIC FEE. TOOK TO INDEPENDENT AND HAD SERVICE DONE FOR $330 INCLUSIVE. ON MARCH 10, SAME NOISE OCCURRING. OTHER FRONT WHEEL BEARING, 65,000 MILES. COMPLAINED TO GM. THEY ASSURED ME IF I TOOK TO DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR THAT GM WOULD REIMBURSE. DID SO AND THEN WAS DENIED. TOTAL COST WAS $494 FOR SECOND WHEEL BEARING. REASON FROM GM: WEAR & TEAR. I WAS ABLE TO PUT 65,000 MILES ON ORIGINAL TIRES. OBVIOUSLY NOT A 'WEAR AND TEAR' SITUATION. OBVIOUSLY DEFECTIVE EQUIPMENT. GM SHOULD BE LIABLE!
WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED CONSUMER HEARD A NOISE COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. IT WAS TAKEN TO A REPAIR SHOP, AND MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE FRONT WHEEL BEARING ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.*AK
WINDSHIELD WIPERS STOPPED WORKING. CONSUMER INTENDED ON TAKING THE VEHICLE TO DEALE R FOR SERVICE WHEN THE RAIN ENDED. *AK
THE INTERIOR REAR VIEW MIRROR BROKE OFF AND FELL WHILE DRIVING. WHEN THIS OCCURRED IT CAUSED A DISTRACTION, CAUSING CONSUMER TO REMOVE HIS FOCUS OFF OF THE ROAD, ALMOST RESULTING IN A COLLISION. THIS OCCURRED DUE TO A BONDING FAILURE AT THE FACTORY. *AK
INCREASED NOISE AND EXCESSIVE TIRE WEAR AT 40,000 MILES. BAD WHEEL BEARING ON PASSENGER SIDE AND WAS REPLACED. TWO WEEKS LATER, INCREASED NOISE AGAIN. DRIVERS SIDE WHEEL BEARING IS ALSO BAD AND WILL HAVE TO BE REPLACED. *JB
WE OWN A BUICK RENDEVOUS. IT HAS RUNNING LIGHTS THAT ARE ON ALL THE TIME THE PROBLEM IS THAT YOU HAVE NO TAIL LIGHTS WITH THE RUNNING LIGHTS ON. SO IF YOU GET IN TO A RAIN STORM WHERE YOU ARE REQUIRED BY LAW TO HAVE YOUR "HEADLIGHTS" ON IT GIVES A FALSE SENSE OF SECURITY THAT THEY ARE ALREADY ON. BUT UNLESS IT'S DARK ENOUGH FOR THE ACTUAL HEADLIGHTS TO COME ON YOU HAVE NO TAILLIGHTS. THIS IS DANGEROUS TO BOTH YOU AND THE CARS AROUND YOU.*AK
MY WIFE HAD A FLAT TIRE AND DESTROYED THE TIRE ON THE HIGHWAY. WE WERE SOLD THE TIRE MONITOR SYSTEM WITH THE CXL. IT IS ALSO CIRCLED IN OUR BROCHURE FROM THE SALESMAN. THE VEHICLE DOES NOT HAVE THE SYSTEM AND GM IS BLOWING US OFF! THIS IS FALSE ADVERTISING. *AK ALSO, THIS YEAR, BOTH REAR AXLE HUBS HAVE GONE BAD AS WELL AS PROBLEMS WITH THE REAR DRIVE MODULE.
THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYED ON. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE FUEL INJECTIONS NEED TO BE CLEANED. THE FUEL INJECTIONS HAVE BEEN CLEANED PREVIOUSLY. THIS TIME THEY WANTED TO CHARGE THE CONSUMER. *AK *SC *JB
2002 BUICK RENDEZVOUS 3.4 ENGINE WOULD NOT START AFTER TRAVELLING APPROXIMATELY 200 MILES AND IGNITION WAS TURNED OFF. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DID NOT ILLUMINATE AT ANY TIME DURING TRAVEL. ENGINE WATER TEMP. WAS NORMAL. GASOLINE CONSUMPTION WAS 1/2 TANK. ENGINE WOULD TURN OVER BUT WOULD NOT START DURING 45 MINUTE TRY. VEHICLE TOWED FOR 50 MILES TO GM DEALER. AFTER BEING TOWED, VEHICLE LET DOWN FROM TOW TRUCK AND STARTED WITH NO PROBLEM. ENGINE CONTINUED TO OPERATE NORMALLY FOR REMANDER OF TRIP, APPROX. 50 MILES. VEHICLE CONTINUES TO START NORMALLY. DID NOT HAVE DEALER DIAGNOSE PROBLEM. *AK
AIR CONDITIONER WENT OUT AT 41,000 MILES---CAN'T AFFORD TO REPLACE FRONT WHEEL-BEARING WENT OUT AT 80,000---CAN'T AFFORD TO REPLACE INTAKE GASKET BLOWN AT 89,000---CAN'T AFFORD TO REPLACE. *TR
I OWN A 2002 BUICK RENDEZVOUS AND THE "CHECK ENGINE SOON" LIGHT CAME ON. THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO A GARAGE ON 8/19/05 AND THEY FIXED WHAT THEY THOUGHT WAS THE PROBLEM (R&R FUEL TANK CONNECTION TO CLEAN AND RE-SECURE, HAD WATER IN CONNECTOR). TOTAL COST OF REPAIR WAS $145.07. ON 8/26/05 THE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN, WE TOOK THE BACK TO THE SAME GARAGE AND THEY FOUND WATER AGAIN IN THE CONNECTOR AND DETERMINED THAT THE WATER WAS COMING FROM THE INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THEY DISCOVERED THE WATER WAS COMING FROM THE AIR CONDITIONING DRAIN TUBE. AS LONG AS THE CAR WAS SITTING STILL THE A/C WOULD DRAIN PROPERLY, BUT AT SPEED THE FORCE OF AIR WOULD FORCE THE WATER BACK INTO THE INTERIOR UNDERNEATH THE SEATS WHERE MANY OF THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE, THEREFORE SHORTING THEM OUT. THE SEATS HAD TO TAKEN OUT, THE CARPET HAD TO BE REMOVED AND DRIED OUT AND A NEW A/C DRAIN TUBE WAS INSTALLED. THE EVAPORATOR CASE WAS ALSO RESEALED. TOTAL FOR THIS REPAIR WAS $276.38 UPON ORDERING AND RECEIVING THE NEW DRAIN, THE MECHANIC WAS TOLD THAT THE PART HAD BEEN "UPDATED". THE UPDATED PART HAD A SLIGHT BEND IN IT NOW, AND THE OLD WAS JUST A STRAIGHT PIECE. MY COMPLAINT IS, IF A PIECE NEEDED TO BE UPDATED OBVIOUSLY SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH THE ORIGINAL DESIGN AND I THE CONSUMER SHOULD NOT HAVE PAY FOR THE DAMAGES OR REPAIRS DUE TO A FAULTY PART. I WORK AT A BUICK DEALERSHIP AND I ALSO DRIVE A BUICK RENDEZVOUS. WE ARE SEEING MULTIPLE GAS TANK LEAKS AT FULL TANK FILL UPS. THE FILLER NECK JOINT IS LEAKING AND THE TANK NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I HAVE ACTUALLY BEEN ASKED TO GLUE OVER THE HOLE BECAUSE TANKS ARE ON BACK ORDER, SO THE CUSTOMER CAN HAVE THEIR CAR TO DRIVE.
AFTER REGULAR MAINTENANCE AND WITH NO WARNING THE CAR STARTED MAKING METALLIC NOISE IN FIRST GEAR AND REVERSE. NOISE DISAPPEARED IN SECOND GEAR. THE CONDENSER FOR THE AIR CONDITIONING FAILED. THE CAR HAS 44,600 MILES (MOST ARE HIGHWAY MILES). *JB THE DEALER HAS AGREED TO "SPLIT" THE ESTIMATED $4,576.

CONSUMER STATES THAT WHEEL BEARINGS FAILED AT 43000 MILES. THE CAUSE HAS YET TO BE DETERMINED. *AK
AFTER RUNNING FOR A WHILE IF YOU SHUT THE VEHICLE DOWN AND TRY TO RESTART IT WITHIN MINUTES IT DOESN'T ALWAYS WANT TO START. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. IT WAS AFTERHOURS, SO IT SAT OVERNIGHT. THE NEXT MORNING WHEN THE SERVICE DEPT. CHECKED THE VEHICLE IT STARTED RIGHT UP. THEY PUT IT ON THE COMPUTER AND FOUND NO PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM HAS HAPPENED 3 MORE TIMES SINCE THEN. I JUST LET HAVE TO LET THE CAR SIT FOR UPTO 30 MINUTES AND IT WILL START UP AGAIN. I SPOKE WITH GM AND THEY SAID THERE IS REALLY NOTHING THEY CAN DO. THE DEALERSHIP CAN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND THEREFORE CAN'T FIND A SOLUTION.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 BUICK RENDEZVOUS. ON JUNE 24, 2007, THE CONTACT SMELLED GAS COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. AFTER INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, HE FOUND GAS LEAKING FROM THE GAS TANK RECEPTACLE. PRIOR TO THIS FAILURE, THE CONTACT SMELLED GAS AT AN EARLIER DATE. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALER. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 59,000.
2002 BUICK RENDEZVOUS A/C CONDENSER HAS DEVELOPED A LEAK - AND AS A RESULT I HAVE NO AIR CONDITIONING. PER THE SERVICE CENTER THIS CANNOT BE REPAIRED THE CONDENSER MUST BE REPLACED. COST IS OVER $800. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER BUICK. MY FATHER WHO IS A RETIRED GM EMPLOYEE SUGGESTED THAT BUICK WAS A GOOD CAR. I AM TELLING EVERYONE I KNOW JUST THE OPPOSITE!. *AK
VARIOUS ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. HORN ONLY WORKS SOME OF THE TIME. SOMETIMES ENGINE WILL NOT CRANK ONLY THE WARNING LIGHTS COME ON BUT NO ENGINE CRANK. VARIOUS CHIMES FOR DELAYED DOOR LOCKING ETC. DO NOT WORK. SPECIAL PROGRAMMED FEATURES DO NOT WORK SUCH AS REMOVING THE KEY FROM IGNITION SHOULD OPEN LOCKED DOORS. BCM HAS BEEN REPLACED BUT PROBLEMS PERSIST. DEALER STATES THEY CANNOT RECREATE PROBLEMS WHILE IN SERVICE. NO EVENTS LEAD UP TO FAILURES, JUST STARTED TO OCCUR. *LA
CONSUMER COMPLAINED ABOUT BRAKE PADS WEARING OUT EXCESSIVELY. VEHICLE AT THE DEALER SHOP HAVING BOTH REAR BRAKE PADS REPLACED DUE TO A GRINDING NOISE WHEN THE BREAK PEDAL WAS BEING APPLIED. *AK
WHEN DRIVING 55 MPH REAR RIGHT TIRE BLEWOUT. THIS CAUSED THE CONSUMER TO PULL OF THE ROAD AND CHANGE THE TIRE. CONSUMER STATED THAT THE TIRE LOOKED LIKE IT JUST MELTED ,AND THERE WERE NO OBJECTS AND THE ROAD. THIS WAS A FIRESTONE TIRE. *AK THE CONSUMER NOTICED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT FLOOR MAT WAS WET. THE TECHNICIAN DETERMINED THAT THE A/C EVAPORATOR DRAIN WAS CLOGGED DUE TO LEAVES COMING FROM THE WINDSHIELD COWLING. THE DEALER CLEANED THE DRAIN AND REMOVED THE LEAVES. THE LEFT FRONT HUB AND BEARING HAD EXCESSIVE PLAY AND WERE NOISY. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE TROUBLE CODES INDICATED THAT THE GAS CAP MAY HAVE BEEN LOOSE. THE VEHICLE BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) FAILED AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. IT CAUSED THE SECURITY LIGHTS TO REMAIN ON, THE A/C NOT TO WORK AND AT NIGHT THE HORN WOULD SOUND WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS OFF. AFTER THE CONSUMER LOCKED THE DOOR THE VEHICLE RADIO WOULD COME ON. THIS CAUSED THE BATTERY TO DRAIN AND AS A RESULT THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE JUMP STARTED. *NM
THE CONSUMER STATED THE HORN WOULD BLOW AND THE RADIO WOULD COME ON FOR NO REASON. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR INSPECTION; HOWEVER THE MECHANIC COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *AK THE CONSUMER HAD TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER DEALER AND THEY FIXED THE MODULE THE SAME DAY. THERE HAS BEEN NO OTHER PROBLEM. CURRENTLY THE VEHICLE IS IN SECURITY MODE. THE CONSUMER WAS UNABLE TO OPEN THE WINDOWS AND THE REAR DOORS. *SC THE CONSUMER NOTICED THE FLOOR MATS WERE DISCOLORED , IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE AIR CONDITION SYSTEM HAD MALFUNCTIONED. THERE WAS A SCREECHING NOISE IN THE STEERING COLUMN, BUT NO PROBLEM WAS FOUND. THE LEFT FRONT HUB AND BEARING WAS REPLACED THE BRAKES WERE REPLACED.*JB
WEIRD NOISE COMING FROM BACK WHEELS. DEALER FOUND THAT REAR BRAKE PADS WERE WORN DOWN TO ROTORS. VEHICLE HAD 22,000 MILES. DEALER FIXED REAR BRAKES UNDER WARANTEE AND RESURFACED FRONT BRAKE ROTORS. DEALER INDICATED THAT THIS WAS A PROBLEM THEY HAD BEEN SEEING ON THE BUICK RONDEZVOIS'. I THOUGHT THIS WAS VERY UNSAFE.*AK
2002 BUICK RENDEZVOUS: MAY 2004, AIR-CONDITIONING DOES NOT COOL. DEALER SERVICE CENTER IS CHARGING $800. ...A MAJOR REPAIR FOR SUCH A NEW VEHICLE SEEMS RIDICULOUS AND I'LL NOT PURCHASE ANOTHER RENDEZVOUS, AND PROBABLY NOT ANOTHER BUICK. *AK
CAR STALLS WHILE DRIVING, OR CAR WILL NOT START WHEN LEFT PARKED FOR MINUTES. CAR WAS TOWED TO LOCAL DEALERSHIP 3 TIMES DURING MAY 2004. IT HAS HAPPENED ON OTHER OCCASIONS PRIOR TO MAY 2004, BUT ONLY SPORADICALLY. DEALERSHIP CAN NOT DUPLICATE OR LOCATE PROBLEM AND KEEPS RETURNING THE CAR TO ME. VEHICLE HAS 24,200 MILES. DEALER SAYS REAR (AWD) DIFFERENTIAL IS RUINED AND NEEDS REPLACEMENT. DEALER WON'T TELL ME IF CONDITION IS DANGEROUS. ODD NOISES NOTED FIVE MONTHS AGO. SECOND TIME TO DEALER. FIRST TIME - NO PROBLEMS NOTED. NOW TELL ME DIFFERENTIAL RUINED BY BAD TIRES (MANUFACTURERS CHOICE) - THIS NOT NOTED BY DEALER IN JUNE. IF TIRES ARE NOT PROPER SIZE, ETC. "AWD DISABLED" LIGHT IS SUPPOSED TO ILLUMINATE. HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS LIGHT ON THIS VEHICLE.*AK

I HAVE A 2002 RENDEZ VOUS WITH 37,000 MILES ON IT. THE HANDLING ON THIS CAR IS EXTREMELY POOR AND SEEMS TO BE GETTING WORSE. IT UNDERSTEERS HORRIBLY AND HAS AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF BODY ROLL ON EVEN THE MOST GENTLE TURNS. I FEEL THAT SOME SORT OF AFTERMARKET STIFFENING OF THE SUSPENSION IS REQUIRED. I PURCHASED NEW, FIRMER TIRES AND THIS DID NOT IMPROVE THIS DANGEROUS PROBLEM. I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE THAT GM WOULD LET A VEHICLE LIKE THIS GET ON THE HIGHWAY WITH ITS POOR HANDLING. I AM FRIGHTENED TO LET MY WIFE DRIVE THIS CAR. IN AN EMERGENCY MANEUVER IT WILL ROLL. I HAVE NO DOUBT. *AK
AT 43,000 MILES MY 2002 BUICK RENDEVOUS LOST FREON. THE BUICK DEALER QUOTED ME $848.00 TO FIX. I FOUND A SERVICE BULLETIN ON A 2001 PONTIAC AZTEK WITH SIMILAR PROBLEMS.*AK BOTH THE RENDEVOUS AND AZTEK SHARE COMPONENTS FROM GM. THEY FIXED THE AC CONDENSER AND 2 SEAL OF THE CONDENSER. ALSO THEY RECHARGED THE FREON. AFTER I ASKED ABOUT A SEVICE BULLETIN ON THE RENDEVOUS, GM PAID FOR THE FIX WITH A $100 COPAY.
MY BUICK RENEDEZOUS' POWER STEERING GEAR WENT OUT AT 4500MILES AND THERE IS STILL A SQUEAKING NOISE WHEN I TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. NOW THE CAR HAS 43000 AND THE CONDENSER HAS TO BE REPAIRED FOR $1000.00. I THOUGHT I BOUGHT A GREAT VEHICLE BUT I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE. OH, THE BUTTONS ON THE STEERING WHEEL (VOLUME KNOBS) HAVE BEEN REPLACED TWICE.
I HAVE HAD ALL FOUR WHEEL BEARING ON MY 2002 BUICK RENDEZVOUS CLX WHICH WAS PURCHASED NEW IN MAY, 2002. I DRIVE ALOT OF MILES, PERFORM ALL REGULAR MAINTANENCE AND THE VEHICLE CURRENTLY HAS 120,000 MILE. THE FIRST WHEEL BEARING WENT BAD AT AROUND 92,000. *AK
PURCHASED 3/1/04 AND GOT A FREE OIL CHANGE IN MAIL BECAUSE IT WAS SOLD TO ME WHEN IT ALREADY NEEDED AN OIL CHANGE. I HAD TO KEEP ADDING OIL. I CALLED BECAUSE SALESPERSON SAID HE HAD TO BE THERE WHEN THEY FIXED SEVERAL THINGS ON IT. 1ST TIME, I SAT 3 HRS TO GET IT FIXED. 2ND TIME AFTER 2 MESSAGES TO SALESMAN W/O RESPONSE, I CALLED AND TOOK IT TO GET FIXED AGAIN. 3RD TIME I TOOK IT DOWN THERE TO SHOW THEM THE RESULTS OF OIL CONSUMPTION TEST AND THEY DIDN'T FIX MY WINDSHIELD LEAK AGAIN, MY AIR QUIT WORKING WHEN I GOT IT BACK AFTER 2ND TIME. THEY WANT ME TO PAY TO HAVE ENGINE TORE DOWN AND PAY MY DEDUCTIBLE FOR THE 2ND TIME IN A MONTH. I AM A FULL TIME STUDENT AND APPRAISER. MY CAR IS MY LIVELIHOOD AND I AM LOOSING ALOT OF MONEY.
