THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL FOR VARIOUS DIFFERENT GM MODELS ON IGNITION COILS(BUT THE 2004 BUICK RENDEZVOUS IS NOT LISTED AS ONE OF THEM. THE HOUSING AROUND MY IGNITION COIL HAS UNRAVELED, AND NEEDS TO BE REPAIRED. I DO NOT WANT ANY CONCERNS WITH THIS. HARNESS IN FRONT TOO SHORT CAUSING PROBLEMS WITH ABS /TRACTION SYSTEM TO NOT WORK CORRECTLY
MULTIPLE TIMES THE VEHICLE HAS STALLED RANDOMLY WHILE BEING DRIVEN. THIS HAS HAPPENED SO MANY TIMES I'VE LOST COUNT (AT LEAST 20). THIS HAPPENS AT VARIOUS SPEEDS (FROM 0 MPH TO 70 MPH). THE ENTIRE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SHUTS DOWN WHEN THE VEHICLE STALLS CAUSING THE STEERING AND BRAKES TO BE LESS EFFECTIVE. THIS COULD EASILY RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO 2 DIFFERENT BUICK DEALERS FOR DIAGNOSTIC AND REPAIR. THE DEALERSHIPS HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THE IGNITION SWITCH AND THE IGNITION RELAY HAVE BOTH BEEN REPLACED AND ALL THE ELECTRICAL CONTACTS HAVE BEEN CLEANED AND CHECKED. THESE REPAIRS HAVE NOT FIXED THE VEHICLE. I'VE CALLED BUICK CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY REFUSE TO DO ANYTHING FURTHER WITHOUT ADDITIONAL CHARGE TO THE OWNER. THE OWNER WILL NOT BE MAKING FURTHER REPAIRS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 BUICK RENDEZVOUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE TRAVELING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY AND THAT THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FAILED. THE CONTACT ALSO HAD TO REPLACE THE BATTERY TWICE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS FOUND THAT THE IGNITION RELAY AND FUSE BOX NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS BEING REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 05V157000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 132,000.
ONE DAY I WOKE UP GOT IN MY CAR STARTED DRIVING AND IT WOULDN'T GO PAST 55MPH I TOOK IT TO EAST DETROIT AUTO ON GRATIOT IN DETROIT MI AND THEY KEPT MY CAR FOR OVER 30 DAYS SAYING THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT'S WRONG WITH IT. THEY CHANGED THE FUEL PUMP AND GAVE ME MY CAR BACK NOT WORKING. I JUST RECENTLY BROUGHT THIS CAR AND ITS A HUGE HASSLE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 BUICK RENDEZVOUS. WHEN ATTEMPTING TO OPERATE THE VEHICLE, IT FAILED TO START. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO START THE VEHICLE AFTER NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS EXCLUDED FROM NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 05V157000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 126,000.
I HAD A TRANSMISSION REPAIR AT AN AMMCO TRANSMISSION OUTLET. AS A RESULT OF THE REPAIR MY INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WAS NOT WORKING THE FIRST DAY THE CAR WAS DECLARED REPAIRED. I LEFT THE CAR WITH THE REPAIRER WHO TOLD ME A SECOND TRANSMISSION WOULD BE INSTALLED. I WAS TOLD APPROXIMATELY TEN DAYS LATER MY CAR WAS REPAIRED. WHEN THE CAR WAS PICKED UP A SECOND THE TIME THE PROBLEM WAS NOT RESOLVED. I WAS TOLD IT NEEDED TO TIME FOR THE COMPUTER TO RESET ITSELF. THAT NEVER HAPPENED SINCE I FOUND OUT LATER THAT THE COMPUTER WAS IN DEFAULT MODE AND WAS NOT COMMUNICATING WITH THE TRANSMISSION. AAMCO PRETENDED TO TELL ME MY CAR WAS SAFE TO DRIVE THROUGHOUT THIS ORDEAL. THE SAME NIGHT I RECEIVED THE CAR BACK MY EXTERIOR LIGHTS WENT WHEN MY CAR GLITCHED AGAIN. I ALMOST HIT THE SIDE OF THE MOUNTAIN BECAUSE THERE WAS TOTAL DARKNESS. MY COMPLAINT IS THAT THERE IS NO OVERSIGHT OF SECONDARY REPAIR SHOPS. I HAVE TRIED HARD. NO ONE SHOULD GO THROUGH WHAT I HAVE BEEN THROUGH. THIS MECHANICS USED MANY EXCUSES BUT IN THE END IT WAS A PINCHED (BEST WORD I CAN UTILIZED) WIRE THAT CAUSED THE PROBLEM. AFTER BEING TURNED DOWN BY FOUR LOCAL MECHANICS THE PROBLEM WAS FIXED BY THE DEALER. NO ONE WAS WANTS TO STEP FORWARD TO EXPLAIN MY PROBLEM. HOWEVER I HAVE DOCUMENTS TO SHOW THAT MY ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WAS WORKING FINE PRIOR TO THIS REPAIR. THE ATTORNEY GENERALS OFFICE IN PA HAS LIMITED AUTHORITY ON THIS ISSUE AND CANNOT HELP ME. ABS LIGHT AND AWD DISABLE, BRAKES LOCKING UP
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 BUICK RENDEZVOUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM, HEATING SYSTEM AND THE ALL-WHEEL DRIVE DISABLE WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS MANEUVERED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE RESTARTED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT WHEN REFUELING, THE FUEL INDICATOR GAGE WOULD REMAIN ON AN EMPTY READING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSIS OR REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 96,000.
THE SPEEDOMETER STOPS WORKING CORRECTLY. WHILE TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE SPEEDOMETER WILL READ ANYWHERE BETWEEN BELOW 0 MPH AND 30 MPH. IT HAPPENS REGARDLESS OF THE WEATHER. THERE HAVE BEEN MULTIPLE OCCURRENCES THAT THE SPEEDOMETER IS WORKING CORRECTLY, (CONFIRMED BY CALCULATIONS USING TIME, MILE MARKERS & ODOMETER READINGS,) AND AT ANY POINT DURING TRAVEL IT WILL STOP AND THE NEEDLE IS OBSERVED TO GRADUALLY DROP BELOW THE 0 MPH MARK. SOMETIMES RESTARTING, WHETHER BY TURNING OFF THE IGNITION OR USING THE AUTOSTART TO REMOVE THE KEY WHILE LEAVING THE VEHICLE RUNNING, WILL TEMPORARILY CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM WAS NOTED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AT THE END OF SEPTEMBER WHILE ADDRESSING POTENTIAL TRANSMISSION ISSUES. (WHICH ALSO HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED. THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO FIND A CAUSE TO "HARD SHIFT" PROBLEM THAT BEGAN SEVERAL MONTHS AGO.) THE CURRENTLY MILEAGE ON THE VEHICLE IS APPROXIMATELY 81,200 MILES. IT IS BEING TAKEN TO A MECHANIC THIS WEEK TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE. *TR

ELECTRICAL FIRE STARTED CAUSING VEHICLE TO BE TOTALLED. *TR
WHEN PULLING INTO OR OUT OF PARKING SPOT YOU GET A HUMMING SOUND AT SLOW SPEED SEEMS TO BE IN THE REAR OF CAR I THINK DOES NOT SOUND LIKE POWER STEERING WHINE CK THE FLUID IN POWER STEERING IT IS FINE NO LEAKS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 BUICK RENDEZVOUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE THE DRIVER DROVE AT APPROXIMATELY 90 MPH, HE LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO ROLL OVER SEVERAL TIMES AND CRASHED INTO AN EMBANKMENT. THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER FRONTAL AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY HOWEVER, THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG DID DEPLOY. THE DRIVER DIED AND THE PASSENGER SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE HAND, FACE, AND SHOULDERS THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE SHERIFF STATION FOR FURTHER INVESTIGATION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
WHEN I APPLIED BRAKES MY TRACTION LIGHT CAME ON AND I DIDN'T HAVE ANY POWER TO MY BRAKES. I DOUBLE PUMPED AND THEY WORKED AGAIN, ALMOST RAN INTO A SUBWAY!!! THIS IS VERY SCARY AND I BROUGHT VEHICLE IN AND THEY COULD DIAGNOSIS A PROBLEM BECAUSE IT WAS INTERMITTENT. I HAVE GOOGLED THIS AND THIS IS A SEVERE PROBLEM WHEN YOUR BRAKES DON'T WORK AND HOW DO YOU FIX THEM WHEN THE SHOP CAN'T FIGURE IT OUT!!! IT SAYS IT IS A SENSORY ISSUE, AND FEELS LIKE THE ABS ARE WORKING WHEN YOU ARE ON ICE, BUT THIS IS HAPPENING ON DRY PAVEMENT. *TR
I PURCHASED A USED CAR FROM JIM DORAN AUTO CENTER3075 N HWY 99W PO BOX 598 MC MINNGVILLE, OR 97128 503-472-3131 THIS VEHICLE WAS ADVERTISED AS A "CREAM PUFF" MEANING THE VEHICLE WAS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AND AFTER I RECEIVED IT IN CALIFORNIA IT COST ME OVER $3,000 IN REPAIRS. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT EVEN KNOW THE SUV SOLD TO ME BY THIS DEALERSHIP WAS SOLD (AS-IS) BUT ADVERTISED AND A CAR IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. I HAVE PAID OVER $3,000 IN REPAIRS TO THIS CAR JUST TO BRING IT UP TO PASS A DMV VEHICLE INSPECTION FOR CALIFORNIA. SOME KIND OF RESOLUTION TO SATISFY ME MOMENTARILY FOR THE REPAIRS FOR THE FALSE ADVERTISING THAT THIS DEALERSHIP POSTED ONLINE FOR THE SALE OF THE VEHICLE. THE VALUE OF THE VEHICLE IS JUST UNDER $6,000 IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AND THIS VEHICLE WAS NOT EVEN IN FAIR CONDITION. *TR

ENGINE STOPS WORKING WITH LOSS OF ALL CONTROL, BATTERY TURNS OVER BUT VEHICLE WILL NOT START. AFTER APPROXIMATELY 1/2 HOUR ENGINE STARTS. DROVE TO MECHANIC AND NO INFORMATION AVAILOABLE IN COMPUTER. ALL DATA REMOVED.. PROBLEM REPEATED AT 70,00 MILES 90,000 MILES AND AT 150,000 MILES. NO MECHANIC COULD FIND ANY PRONLEM. FIRST OCCURRED WHEN PARKING AFTER A 50 MILE DRIVE. NEXT APPEARED AT A STOP LIGHT. LAST APPERARED WHILE SLOWING DOWN AT AN INTERSECTION. TOOK VEHICLE OFF THE ROAD AFTER THE LAST INCIDENT. FEARED FOR MY LIFE.

I WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. THE RIGHT FRONT OF MY VEHICLE STRUCK A CAR THAT CAME INTO MY LANE. I CONTINUED ACROSS THE HIGHWAY (GARDEN STATE PARKWAY IN NEW JERSEY) AND HIT A GUARDRAIL HARD WITH THE LEFT FRONT OF MY VEHICLE. THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY WITH EITHER FRONT END COLLISION. MY VEHICLE SUSTAINED $10,000 IN DAMAGE AND WAS TOTALED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. *TR
SHORTLY AFTER I BOUGHT MY USED BUICK RENDEZVOUS, IT STARTED STALLING. IT WAS A MONTHLY OCCURRENCE UNTIL RECENTLY WHEN IT IS HAPPENING WEEKLY. ALTHOUGH THIS CAR WAS WITHIN THE VIN BREAKPOINTS OF A SAFETY RECALL IN 2005, BUICK TOLD ME THAT MY PARTICULAR VIN IN ITS ENTIRETY WASN'T AFFECTED AND EVEN IF IT WAS THAT THEY WOULDN'T COVER REPAIRS BECAUSE IT WAS TOO OLD. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS COASTED TO A SAFE LOCATION AND THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF. AFTER WAITING A FEW MOMENTS, THE ENGINE RESTARTED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESUME DRIVING. THERE WAS A RECALL RELATED TO THE SIMILAR DEFECT UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 05V157000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: IGNITION). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE MALFUNCTION. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 102,000.
I WAS IN A HEAD ON COLLISION HITTING A CAR THAT RAN A STOP SIGN OFF A HIGHWAY. HE WAS TRAVELING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED. NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. THE ENTIRE FRONT END WAS PUSHED INTO ME CAUSING EXTENSIVE INJURIES TO BOTH KNEES AND LEFT SHOULDER BECAUSE THE SEAT BELT DID LOCK UPON IMPACT. *TR
I HAVE A 2004 BUICK RENDEZVOUS AND AFTER RUNNING IT, IT DOES NOT ALWAYS RESTART. IT HAS ALSO STALLED AT INTERSECTIONS WHEN IDLING. NO ONE CAN PIN POINT A SPECIFIC PROBLEM BUT AFTER IT SITS AWHILE IT RESTARTS. SOMETIMES I HAVE TO SIT FOR AN HOUR TO GET MY CAR STARTED. A GM MECHANIC SAID THERE WAS A RECALL ON A FUSE, BUT THERE WAS NOT CHANGE MADE TO THE FUSES SO THE ISSUE WAS NOT CORRECTED. OTHERS HAVE SAID IT WAS THE FUEL PUMP, BUT THEN OTHERS SAY IF IT IS THE FUEL PUMP IT WOULD HAVE GONE COMPLETELY BAD BY NOW. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE 2008 WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR USED FROM A DEALER. *TT
REAR DIFFERENTIAL /TORQUE TUBE DEFECT. VEHICLE TAKEN TO GM DEALERSHIP TO CHECK WHINING, ROARING AND CLUNKING NOISE. GARAGE INDICATED NO PROBLEM WITH VEHICLE. NOISES CONTINUED AND GOT WORSE. VEHICLE TAKEN BACK TO GARAGE SEVERAL TIMES TO NO AVAIL. FINALLY VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ANOTHER GARAGE TO DETERMINE PROBLEM. PROBLEM FOUND AND BOTH GM DEALERSHIP GARAGE AND THE CERTIFIED GARAGE THAT FIXED THE PROBLEM INDICATED A DEFECT IN THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL WITH POTENTIAL OF LOCKING UP WHEELS WHILE DRIVING, CAUSING THE WHEELS TO SKID WITH THE POTENTIAL OF CAUSING AN ACCIDENT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 BUICK RENDEZVOUS. THE CONTACT COULD NOT TURN OFF THE VEHICLE BECAUSE THE KEY BECAME STUCK IN THE IGNITION. THE FAILURE OCCURRED TWICE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING, WHICH CONFIRMED THAT THE IGNITION LOCK CHAMBER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 113,138.

I HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY FRUSTRATED WITH MY VEHICLE. I HAVE TAKEN TO MECHANICS WHERE I PAID TO HAVE IT PLACED ON THE DIAGNOSTIC MACHINE AND I HAVE HAD EVERY FUSE CHECKED NUMEROUS TIMES. NOT ONCE BUT MANY TIMES OVER THE PAST YEAR. MY 2004 BUICK RENDEZVOUS' GAS GAUGE AND SPEEDOMETER WORK WHEN THEY WANT TO. MOST OF THE TIME NOT AT ALL. THE SPEEDOMETER WILL READ OVER 100 MPH. THE GAS GAUGE DOES NOT WORK. I TOOK IT TO ANOTHER MECHANIC TODAY TO BE TOLD IT MUST BE IN THE BOARD. I HAVE BEEN TOLD IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH A GROUND WIRE. I DON'T KNOW BUT FOR THE MONEY I SPENT ON THIS CAR IT SHOULD WORK. I AM WORRIED ABOUT SAFETY. I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH IT STALLING ALSO. ONE WINDOW WILL NOT ROLL UP AND DOWN BY THE BUTTON ON THE DOOR (ONLY BY THE DRIVER'S BUTTON). ONE DOOR WON'T OPEN FROM THE INSIDE. AND THE BACK WINDSHIELD WIPER DOES NOT TOUCH THE WINDOW. ENGINE WOULD NOT IDLE BELOW 3000 RPM, AND ONCE ALMOST 4500 RPM CAUSING EXCESSIVE BRAKE PEDAL PRESSURE, HAD TO ACTUALLY PUT AUTO IN NEUTRAL AT STOPLIGHTS. THIS CONDITION WOULD OCCUR AT RANDOM TIMES, SOMETIMES IT WOULD SEEM TO OCCUR 5 OR 6 TIMES IN A ROW, AND THEN SOMETIMES IT WOULD ACT NORMAL WHEN ENGINE WAS STARTED AGAIN. UNLIKE THE IDIOTS IN THE TOYOTA'S I DID PUT IT IN NEUTRAL, HOWEVER THERE ARE APPARENTLY A LOT OF DRIVERS THAT THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN A SEVERE PROBLEM FOR. THIS CONDITION STARTED MAY 24, ( I REMEMBER BECAUSE IT OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING TO MY BIRTHDAY DINNER) 2010 ONLY OCCURRING ONCE IN A WHILE, UNTIL ENGINE WAS STOPPED AND RESTARTED, THEN BY SEPT IT WAS EVERY WEEK. I HAD IT CHECKED AT THE DEALER ON 10/5/10 AND THEY ORDERED A THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR AND INSTALLED IT ON 10/11/10. THIS SHOULD DEFINITELY BEEN A SAFETY RECALL, AND FUNNY THIS KIND OF PROBLEM WAS NEVER MENTIONED AS A POSSIBILITY DURING THE BIG TOYOTA SCANDAL. THE HANDLE OF THE INFANT CARRIER BECAME LOOSE WHILE TRANSPORTING THE CHILD TO THE VEHICLE. AS A CONSEQUENCE, THE HANDLE BROKE, THE INFANT FELL ONTO THE CEMENT SURFACE WHICH CAUSED INJURY TO THE INFANT'S FOREHEAD. THE AMBULANCE TRANSPORTED THE CHILD TO THE HOSPITAL. THE INFANT WAS SECURED BY A "CONVERTIBLE" CHILD RESTRAINT SEAT; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE OCCURRED OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
