SPEEDOMETER AND FUEL GAUGE GOES NUTS AND NOT WORKING. *TR
TWO HEAD GASKETS BLEW ON MY CAR AND I WANT TO KNOW IF THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM WITH BUICK RENDEZVOUS 2004 MODEL OR OTHERS. THIS CAR HAS ONLY 67,000 MILES. I SEE A LIST OF RECALLS ON THIS MODEL AND WANT TO KNOW IF ONE OF THOSE COULD CAUSE HEAD GASKET PROBLEMS. *TR
VEHICLE DASHBOARD INSTRUMENTS (SPEEDOMETER AND VEHICLE ENGINE TEMPERATURE) DO NOT OPERATE PROPERLY. *TR
SPEEDOMETER, RPM GAUGE, FUEL GAGE, AND TEMPERATURE GAUGE GIVE FALSE READINGS. SPEEDOMETER IS THE MOST IMPORTANT AND GETS STUCK ON DIFFERENT MPH RANDOMLY. CURRENTLY IT WILL NOT GO ABOVE 20 MPH. RESEARCH ONLINE SUGGEST THAT THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER HAS 6 MOTORS AND ONE OR MORE HAVE FAILED. I CALLED GM BEFORE THE BANKRUPTCY AND THEY NOTED THIS HAD HAPPENED ON SOME OF THEIR OTHER MAKES AND THEY WERE AWARE OF COMPLAINTS CONCERNING THE BUICK RENDEZVOUS, BUT THERE WERE NOT ENOUGH COMPLAINTS TO WARRANT A RECALL. THEY ONLY OFFERED TO MAYBE HELP WITH THE COMPUTER CHECK, BUT WOULD NOT ASSIST WITH THE $400 TO $500 GM SERVICE CHARGE TO FIX THE INSTRUMENT PANEL MOTORS. *TR
THE SPEEDOMETER GOES NUTS AND AT TIMES THE FUEL GAGE DOES NOT WORK. *TR
A COMPLETE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FAILURE OCCURS PERIODICALLY WITHOUT ANY WARNING ON MY 2004 BUICK RENDEZVOUS. THIS IS THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM IN THE RECALL NOTICE ISSUED BY NHTSA 05V157000. I CONTACT GM ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND THEIR POSITION IS THE RECALL IS NOT SPECIFIC/COVERED BY MY VIN NUMBER. I SUGGEST ALL 2004 BUICK RENDEZVOUS BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS RECALL AS THIS IS A POTENTIALLY SERIOUS PROBLEM. *TR
I PURCHASED MY BUICK RENDEZVOUS IN 2007 FROM MY MOTHER WHO ONLY HAD IT 2 YEARS. SINCE I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE, I HAVE HAD 8 WHEELBEARINGS REPLACED, AND 2 HUB ASSEMBLIES, ALONG WITH THE WIRING HARNESS FOR THE ABS. THE VEHICLE WILL SOMETIMES 'RUB' WHEN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL, OR SOMETIMES THE BRAKES WILL 'RUB'. AFTER THIS HAPPENS, THE ABS LIGHT COMES ON AS WELL AS THE AWD DISABLED LIGHT. I HAD PURCHASED THE EXTENDED WARRANTY, AND THAT COVERED THE WHEELBEARING ISSUES, AND ONE OF THE HUB ASSEMBLY FIXES. I THINK I HAVE SPENT MORE ON REPAIRS FOR THIS VEHICLE IN THE PAST 6 YEARS THEN I PAID TO BUY IT. NOT A YEAR GOES BY THAT I DON'T HAVE TO HAVE SOMETHING REPLACE IN ORDER FOR IT TO PASS INSPECTION. MY VEHICLE NOW HAS 118000 MILES ON IT. *TR
REAR DIFFERENTIAL WILL NOT STOP GROANING ON ANY TURN. REAR DIFFERENTIAL NOW HAS TO BE REPLACED AND THE CAR ONLY HAS 80,000 MILES ON IT. WE ALSO HAVE TO REPLACE THE RACK AND PINION. THE TOTAL COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH BOTH THESE WILL BE WELL OVER $5,000. IT IS EFFECTING THE TURNING PROCESS WHEN I NEED TO TURN THE CAR. ALSO HAVE A RACK AND PINION FAILURE. THE STEERING COLUMN COMPLETELY LOCKED UP AND THE TOWING COMPANY HAD TO PUT OIL ALL OVER WHERE THE CAR WAS PARKED AND SLIDE IT UP TO THE CABLE TO TOW THE CAR. ENTIRE STEERING MECHANISM REPLACED BUT NOW THE RACK AND PINION HAS TO BE REPLACED. I THINK IT IS DUE TO THE STEERING COLUMN ISSUE. THAT IS WHEN IT STARTED. *TR
INITIALLY THE FUEL GAUGE BEGAN TO ACT INCORRECTLY. NOW NOT ONLY DOES THE FUEL GAUGE NOT WORK, BUT THE SPEEDOMETER DOES NOT WORK. *TR
I HAVE HAD TWO DIFFERENT BUICK RENDEZVOUS. ONE WAS A 2004 AND ONE WAS A 2003 RENDEZVOUS. I HAVE PUT THREE DIFFERENT TRANSMISSIONS IN THE 2003. I JUST, TODAY, TOOK MY 2004 RENDEZVOUS IN FOR A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. I AM TIRED OF TAKING MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP. I LIVE 50 MILES FROM THE DEALERSHIP. I AM A FULL TIME EMPLOYEE AND I AM ALSO A FULL TIME STUDENT. I DO NOT HAVE ALL THIS TIME TO KEEP TAKING MY CAR BACK. I WOULD APPRECIATE IF THE BUICK INDUSTRY TO LOOK INTO THIS TO FIND OUT WHY THESE CARS HAVE SO MANY TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ON A SLIPPERY HIGHWAY, MY RENDEZVOUS WAS INVOLVED IN A CRASH WHICH CONSISTED OF A LEFT FRONT/SIDE COLLISION WITH A CONCRETE GUARDRAIL AND A HEAD ON COLLISION WITH A METAL GUARDRAIL ON OPPOSITE SIDES OF THE HIGHWAY. SPEEDS OF THESE COLLISIONS RANGED FROM APPROX. 40MPH TO 25MPH (FIRST/FRONT SIDE COLLISION @40MPH AND SECOND/FINAL HEAD ON COLLISION @ 25MPH). IN NEITHER COLLISION DID THE AIRBAGS DEPLOY. VEHICLE SUFFERED MAJOR DAMAGE, MAINLY COSMETIC, AND TOTALING APPROX $5000, BUT VEHICLE WAS NOT TOTALED. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP, PENDING REPAIR. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 BUICK RENDEZVOUS. THE CONTACT WAS TRAVELING 60 MPH WHEN THE SPEEDOMETER DISPLAYED THAT HE WAS TRAVELING 1 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE CLUSTER BOARD WOULD NEED REPLACING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
CHANGING FRONT BRAKES AND NOTICED BRAKE HOSES BUBBLING AND STARTING TO WEEP BRAKE FLUID. ALSO ROTORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, UNDER MINIMUM THICKNESS. *TR
MY FAMILY AND I WERE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD WHEN THE WHEEL BROKE OFF OF THE CONTROL ARM, BALL JOINT ASSEMBLY. THIS MADE MY WHEEL LOOK BENT INWARD AND UNDRIVEABLE. *TR
GAS GAUGE FLUCTUATES DEALER REPLACED PARTS BUT SAID ITS NOT REPAIRABLE AND ITS A COMMON PROBLEM. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 BUICK RENDEZVOUS. THE CONTACT SMELLED GASOLINE WHEN SHE EXITED THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE FUEL TANK CAUSED THE FAILURE AND THEY WOULD REPLACE THE TANK. AS OF NOVEMBER 28, 2007, THE DEALER HAD NOT REPAIRED THE VEHICLE. THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE: STORAGE (NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 03V454000). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,706 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 64,100.
MY FRONT WHEELS WERE MAKING A NOISE AND MY FRONT END DIDN'T FEEL RIGHT. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 BUICK RENDEZVOUS. SHE STATED THAT SHE SMELLED GAS WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED. SHE LOOKED UNDER THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED GAS ON THE GROUND. THE DEALER NOTICED THAT THERE WAS A HOLE IN THE GAS TANK. THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE FUEL SYSTEM STORAGE (NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID#03V454000). WHEEL BEARING ON THE 2004 BUICK RENDEZVOUS LAST YEAR WE REPLACED WHEEL BEARING ON FRONT WHEELS NOW LESS THAN YEAR LATER WE ARE HAVING PROBLEM SOME DAY THIS IS GOING TO KILL SOMEONE REPLACING BEARING IS NOT WORK MAKE BUICK REDESIGN WHEEL BEARING THANK YOU KEITH LORENZ. *TR
2004 BUICK RENDEZVOUS AWD LIGHT CAME ON AND HAS NEVER GONE OFF. IT CAME ON WHEN WE HAD LESS THAN 30K MILES ON THE CAR. WE HAVE HAD OUR CAR TO MANY, MANY MECHANICS. NONE ARE ABLE TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. ONE TOLD US WE NEEDED ALL NEW TIRES, WE BOUGHT NEW TIRES, ONE SAID IT WAS THE ALIGNMENT WE HAD IT ALIGNED. ONE MECHANIC WENT THROUGH THE CAR AND CHARGED US 3 HOURS OF LABOR TO TELL US THAT HE DID NOT KNOW WHAT WAS WRONG AND NOTHING APPEARED TO BE WRONG. ANOTHER SUGGESTED WE CONTACT THE DEALER MUST BE A CENTRAL COMPUTER SYSTEM DEFECT. CALLED THE DEALER AND HE STATED THERE WERE NO WARNINGS ON THIS DEFECT. AWD IS SOMETHING WE WANTED WHEN WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. I HAVE DONE A LOT OF RESEARCH ONLINE AND MANY OTHER OWNERS OF THIS VEHICLE HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM MANY, MANY MECHANICS AND NO FIX TO THE PROBLEM. THE OWNER'S MANUAL STATES THAT WITHOUT THIS WORKING IT POSES A SAFETY HAZARD TO THE DRIVER AND OCCUPANTS. WE WANT TO GET THIS REPAIRED BUT CAN'T AFFORD TO KEEP SPENDING MONEY TO INVESTIGATE A PROBLEM NO ONE CAN FIX. KINDLY INVESTIGATE THIS. *TR
2004 BUICK CUSTOMER STATES THAT THE SWITCH FOR THE OUTSIDE REAR VIEW MIRRORS WORK INTERMITTENTLY CAUSING THE CONSUMER TO NOT BE ABLE TO SEE THE VEHICLE BEHIND HIM**CC
STRONG FUEL SMELL UPON COLD START UP, SMELL WOULD DISSIPATE AFTER WARM UP. FOUND FUEL LEAK AT FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR. NOTHING HAD BEEN DONE TO DATE, PROBLEM JUST NOW FOUND. *AK
WE HAVE A 2004 BUICK RENDEZVOUS THAT DOES NOT KEEP ACCURATE SPEEDOMETER READINGS AND IT JUMPS LANES OR SEVERELY PULLS TO THE LEFT. WE HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET THIS REPAIRED BUT IT DOES NOT DO THESE THINGS WHEN THE DEALER DRIVES IT. THIS HAS GONE ON OVER 3 MONTHS. THE SPEEDOMETER READS EXCESSIVE SPEEDS OVER 100 MPH OR IT READS 20 MPH SITTING IN THE DRIVE. WE HAVE PICTURES OF THE SPEEDOMETER READING 100+ MILES PER HOUR BUT THEY WONT TAKE THOSE. THE DEALER CAN NOT GET THE NAC WARRANTY DEPARTMENT TO COVER OR REPLACE THE CLUSTER BECAUSE THEY CANT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. I RECENTLY READ WHERE THERE IS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST GM DUE TO THE SAME SPEEDOMETER ISSUES. *JB
BOTH FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS FAILED ON MY WIFE'S 2004 BUICK RENDEZVOUS. A SPECIAL 'EXTENDED WARRANTY' WAS ISSUED FOR THE 2002 (NHTSA ITEM #10020658). DUE TO THE RELATIVELY LOW MILEAGE OF THE VEHICLE, THE FAILURE OF BOTH WHEEL BEARINGS OCCURRED LONG BEFORE IT SHOULD HAVE AND I REQUESTED THAT HER VEHICLE BE INCLUDED IN THE WARRANTY AS IT FIT THE SAME CRITERIA. THE REPAIR WAS COSTLY AND ITS UNFAIR TO HAVE TO PAY FOR KNOWN DEFECTS AND NOT GET REIMBURSED. GM REFUSES TO REIMBURSE ME. *TR

SPEED GAUGE KEEPS SPENDING AROUND WONT STAY ADJUSTED. MY REAR DEFROST WON'T WORK TRIED FUSES KEEP BLOWING OUT. *TR
1. 2004 BUICK RENDEZVOUS STALLS DRIVING AT ALL SPEEDS. WILL NOT RESTART UNTIL IT SITS AWHILE. 2. STARTER STAYS ENGAGED AND WHINES AFTER ENGINE STARTS FOR APROX. 3 TO 4 SECONDS. 3. THE GAS TANK IS LEAKING AROUND THE FILLER NECK WHERE THE TANK IS (WELDED). ALL OF THESE PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN LOOKED AT BY 2 DEALERSHIPS AND I HAVE CONTACTED GM TO GET THESE PROBLEMS, ALL OF WHICH ARE RECALL PROBLEMS FIXED. GM WILL NOT REPAIR MY VEHICLE AFTER ONE OF THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENTS STATED THAT MY VEHICLE WAS CONSIDERED UNDRIVEABLE AND A SERIOUS VEHICLE HAZARD. GM STATED THAT SINCE MY VEHICLE WAS A PART MADE BY A DIFFERENT MANUFACTURER THE EXACT PROBLEMS ON THE RECALL WOULD NOT APPLY. REPAIR COST ESTIMATE WAS APROX. $1200. GAS LEAK IS ABOUT 8 INCHES AWAY FROM THE LEFT REAR "HOT" BRAKE ROTOR "FIRE". *JB EA07-006.PCO
TL*- THE CONTACT SAID THAT THE CAR SHUTS OFF WILE DRIVING AT DIFFERENT SPEEDS. THE CONTACT SAID THAT SHE AS HAD TAKEN THE CAR TO THE REPAIR SHOP, BUT THEY COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM. IT IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY AND THE DEALER HAS NOT GIVE THE CONTACT A REPAIR ORDER FOR A POSSIBLE PROBLEM. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SPEED AT LAST FAILURE WAS 25 MPH.
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE REAR HATCH OPENED ON ITS OWN. THE DEALERSHIP WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE A PROBLEM. THERE WAS A NHTSA RECALL #04V150000, REGARDING THE HATCHBACK LOCK, BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL DUE TO THE VIN.
BRAKES FAILED ON 2004 BUICK RENDEZVOUS
THERE HAS BEEN A LEAK FROM THE FUEL TANK SINCE 2006 WITHOUT ANY ACCIDENT TO THE VEHICLE AND AM HAVING DIFFICULTY FINDING ONE TO REPLACE IT. ONE CAR PARTS ATTENDANT INFORMED ME OF THE RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM.
2004 BUICK RENDEZVOUS QUITS RUNNING. ENGINE SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING. DEALER REPLACED PCM AND SOME PART OF A WIRING HARNESS. CAR WAS GOOD FOR 3 MONTHS AND THEN THE PROBLEM CAME BACK. HAD IT TOWED TO A GARAGE THAT DISCONNECTED AND RECONNECTED MODULES AND WHATEVER. CAR WAS GOOD FOR A MONTH AND THEN TODAY IT QUIT RUNNING AGAIN. IT IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. *NM
I HAVE A 2004 BUICK RENDEZVOUS THAT I BOUGHT IN 2004 WITH 9000 MILES ON IT. AT 32000 MILES THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE DEALER SAID THE NUMBER THREE CYLINDER WAS MISFIRING. HE RESET THE THE CYLINDER AND 10000 MILES LATER IT IS DOING IT AGAIN. ALSO AT 42000 I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE BOTH FRONT AND REAR BREAKS ALONG WITH THE POWER STEERING PUMP AND THE MASTER CYLINDER. I THINK THESE ARE EXCESSIVE BREAKDOWNS FOR A VEHICLE THIS AGE AND MILAGE. SO FAR REPAIRS TO THE VEHICLE IN THE LAST MONTH HAVE EXCEEDED $1000.00. LUCKLY I WASN'T IN AND ACCIDENT WHEN THE STEERING AND BREAKS FAILED. THERE WAS NO WARNIGN CHIRP OR DASH INDICATOR SHOWING THE STEERING AND BREAKS WERE FAILING. *NM
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE PARKING THE VEHICLE AT DRIVING 3 MPH, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED WITHOUT WARNING, COLLIDING WITH A NEARBY RETAINING WALL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A SERVICE DEALER, WHERE THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALSO NOTIFIED.
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE KEYS WERE LEFT IN THE IGNITION. THE CONTACT'S TWO AND A HALF YEAR OLD CHILD TURNED THE KEYS TO THE ACCESSORY POSITION. ONCE THE KEY WAS TURNED, THE CHILD WAS ABLE TO TAKE THE VEHICLE OUT OF THE PARK POSITION AND PLACE THE GEAR SHIFTER INTO REVERSE WITHOUT DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE VEHICLE ROLLED OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY, ROLLED 100 FEET THEN CRASHED INTO A FENCE. THE CHILD ESCAPED UNHARMED ALTHOUGH THERE WAS DAMAGED SUSTAINED TO THE VEHICLE AND THE FENCE. THE POLICE WERE NOT NOTIFIED SINCE THE INCIDENT HAPPENED ON PRIVATE PROPERTY. THE INSURANCE COMPANY WAS ALSO NOT NOTIFIED.

2004 BUICK RENDEZVOUS - EXTREMELY UNRELIABLE HORN (DESIGN FLAW). I HAVE NARROWLY ESCAPED MANY ACCIDENTS BY SHEER LUCK. HAVE HAD PEOPLE BACKING INTO ME & BEEN UNABLE TO HONK THE HORN BECAUSE I COULD NOT FIND THE VERY LIMITED "SWEET SPOT." WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL IS TURNED EVEN SLIGHTLY, IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND! *JB
WHEN TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, THE LOW TIRE WARNING COMES ON. STOPPING AND CHECKING FINDS NO LOW TIRES. IT HAS NOW HAPPENED SO MANY TIMES THAT WE NO LONGER STOP TO CHECK. IF WE REALLY DO HAVE A DANGEROUSLY LOW TIRE, WE COULD HAVE A TIRE FAILURE LEADING TO AN ACCIDENT. DEALER CAN'T FIND ANY PROBLEM AND IS DOING NOTHING TO FIX THE PROBLEM. BUICK CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS OF NO ASSISTANCE. *NM
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 BUICK RENDEZVOUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE LOSES BRAKING AND STEERING POWER WHILE DRIVING. THE FAILURES CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO STALL. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO FIND THE CAUSE OF FAILURE. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER AUTO REPAIR SHOP AND THEY CALLED AN EXPERT, WHO STATED THAT THERE WAS A DESIGN FLAW WITH THE ENGINE AND THE FUEL LINE WAS TOO CLOSE TO THE AIR INTAKE SYSTEM/VALVE. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE VIN, ENGINE SIZE, NUMBER OF CYLINDERS, FAILURE SPEED, AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 21,000.
SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT CAME ON AND THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN FOUND THE MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR WAS NOT PROPERLY CONNECTED AFTER THE FUEL SYSTEM WAS SERVICED. THE TECHNICIAN SUBSEQUENTLY FOUND THE FUEL TANK HARNESS WAS CORRODED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE SERVICE MANAGER ADVISED THAT THIS CONNECTOR WAS EXPOSED TO THE WEATHER ELEMENTS AND IF THE CONNECTOR FAILED THE ENGINE WOULD SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD IN MY OPINION. THE CONNECTOR WAS REPLACED AT A COST OF $199.50. *JB
IN LATE JULY, THE FUEL GAUGE SHOWED ABOUT 1/4 TANK REMAINING. WHILE ON EXPRESSWAY, LOW FUEL LIGHT CAME ON. 4 MILES LATER, CAR RAN OUT OF GAS. ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE (VIA ONSTAR) DELIVERED GAS. IN EARLY OCTOBER, THE FUEL GAUGE SHOWED ABOUT 3/8 TANK REMAINING. LOW FUEL LIGHT CAME ON . RAN OUT OF GAS ABOUT 1 MILE LATER. LITERALLY COASTED INTO THE GAS STATION AND HAD TO BE PUSHED TO A PUMP. NOW I FILL THE TANK REMAINING THE "GAUGE" READS 1/2 TANK. *NM

SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT RYDELL (DEALERSHIP) STATED 18 MPG AFTER 40 MILES TEST DRIVE, SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT VERMONT CHEVY/BUICK (DEALERSHIP) STATED 27 MPG AFTER 25 (FREEWAY) MILES TEST DRIVE. BOTH SERVICE DEPARTMENTS ARE WRONG: VEHICLE AVERAGES 13.0 MPG UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS & NORMAL DRIVING HABITS ON CITY STREETS AND FREEWAY. DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM, I WAS ADVISED THAT VEHICLE CHECKED OK AFTER SCAN. PROBLEM PERSISTS. SERVICE ADVISOR/SERVICE MANAGER ADVISED THAT THIS HIGH MPG IS NORMAL FOR THIS TYPE OF VEHICLE: 3.6 L ENGINE. DOOR LOCKS SOMETIMES WORK, SOMETIMES DON'T. DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM. SCAN AND CHECK SYSTEM AFTER RECALL. PROBLEM PERSISTING. PASSENGER SIDE MIRROR MOVES INSIDE MIRRORS HOUSING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS (65 M/H) AND HAVE TO BE RE-SET UPON REACHING DESTINATION. DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM. PROBLEM PERSISTING. AUDIO SYSTEM COULD NOT READ ALL CDS. DEALER REPLACED RADIO/CD PLAYER TWICE. PROBLEM PERSISTING. DRIVER'S SEAT MOVES BACK AND FORTH. DEALER REPLACED SEAT ADJUSTER DUE TO EXCESSIVE LOOSENING. REPLACED SEAT TRACK ASSY. VEHICLE WENT TO RYDELL'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT THREE (3) TIMES DUE TO EXCESSIVE ALIGNMENT/STEERING ISSUES: VEHICLE CURRENTLY STILL PULLING TO RIGHT SIDE OF ROAD, STEERING WHEEL OFF CENTER. DEALER DID NOT RESOLVE ISSUES AFTER THREE ATTEMPTS, ALIGNMENT NOW OUT OF WARRANTY (7.5 K MILES ONLY), PROBLEM PERSISTING. *NM
PURCHASED 2004 BUICK RENDEZVOUS 6/22/2005 AND WHILE TRAVELING TO WORK ON BUSY BELT-LINE WAITING IN TRAFFIC, THE VEHICLE JUST SHUT DOWN COMPLETELY AND BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON. PUT VEHCILE IN NEUTRAL AND IT RESTARTED. LATER FOUND THAT PRESETS IN RADIO HAD ALL BEEN ERASED WHICH WOULD INDICATE A COMPLETE LOSS OF ELECTRICAL POWER. THIS HAS THE POTENTIAL TO BE A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN DUE TO THE POSSIBILTY OF REAR END COLLISIONS. HAVE READ OF SIMILAR COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER OWNERS OF THIS VEHICLE WITH OUT RESOLUTION. WILL CONTACT DEALERSHIP IF PROBLEM CONTINUES TO HAPPEN.
DT: THE PROBLEM WAS IGNITION CONTINUED TO CRANK EVEN AFTER LETTING GO OF KEY. THIS PROBLEM WAS LOOKED AT BY MECHANIC, AND HE FOUND NO REASON. VEHICLE SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING, WHEN DRIVING ABOUT 20 MPH THERE WAS A WARNING LIGHT WHICH SHOWED A BATTERY. THEN THE VEHICLE WAS CHECKED, WAS PUT ON A BATTERY TESTER, NO PROBLEM APPEARED. DEALER TOLD OWNER THERE WERE NO PROBLEMS. THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE INITIAL RELAY, AND THIS WAS REPAIRED. YESTERDAY THE IGNITION WAS CONTINUING TO CRANK. THIS PROBLEM JUST HAPPENED EVERY DAY, BUT NOT EVERY TIME WHILE DRIVING. . THE VEHICLE WAS REGULARLY SERVICED.*AK

2004 BUICK RENDEZVOUS HAS STALLED TWICE WHILE DRIVING. (CAR IS 10 MONTHS OLD) 1ST INCIDENCE OCCURED WHILE TURNING INTO A PARKING SPACE AT A BUSY MALL PARKING LOT. CAR DID START RIGHT BACK UP. CALLED LOCAL DEALERSHIP TO BRING IN. THEY SAID THERE WAS A BULLENTIN REGARDING THIS ISSUE AND REPLACED THE FUSE BOX. THE 2ND INCIDENCE AFTER THE FUSE BOX WAS REPLACED HAPPENDED 5/27/05. MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND IT STALLED WHILE HE WAS DRIVING IN A PARKING LOT. CAR DID START UP AGAIN. CALLED DEALERSHIP AND BROUGHT CAR IN. THEY CAN NOT LOCATE THE PROBLEM. I ASKED WHAT HAPPENS IF THIS HAPPENS AGAIN AND THEY ADVISED TO JUST KEEP BRINGING IT IN AFTER IT HAPPENS TO EXAMINE CAR. PLEASE NOTE THIS IS MY 3RD RENDEZVOUS AND MY FIRST RENDEZVOUS (2001) THIS EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED EXCEPT I WAS ON THE TURNPIKE DRIVING 55 MPH WHEN IT STALLED AND DIDN'T START RIGHT BACK UP AND HAD TO BE TOWED. (STATE TROOPERS WERE INVOLVED WITH THIS INCIDENCE) THE DEALERSHIP COULD NOT LOCATE THE PROBLEM. NEEDLESS TO SAY SINCE I WAS A GM EMPLOYEE THEY DID A COLLATERAL TRADE SINCE I REFUSED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE SAFETY ISSUE.
THE CONSUMER STATED THAT WHEN THE MIDDLE ROW SEAT WAS FOLDED IN THE UP POSITION, HE IS UNABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR FOR THE PASSENGERS IN THE THIRD ROW UNLESS THEY UNFOLD THE SECOND ROW SEATS. SOMEONE THE CONSUMER WOULD HAVE TO OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE. THE CONSUMER TALKED TO THE MANUFACTURER AND SAID THEY WOULD DOCUMENT THE CALL. *JB *SC
2004 BUICK RENDEZVOUS WAS STRUCK IN THE RIGHT FRONT CORNER YET THE AIR BAGS NEVER DEPLOYED.***NO ANSWER REQUIRED***. *MR THE CONSUMER WAS GIVEN SEVERAL REASONS WHY THE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. ONE WAS THAT THE VEHICLE WASN'T TRAVELING FAST ENOUGH, THE SECOND WAS THAT THE SENSOR WAS NOT ACTIVATED ON IMPACT AND THE THIRD ONE WAS THAT THERE MAY HAVE BEEN SOME TYPE OF AIR BAG DEFECT. THE VEHICLE WAS DEEMED TOTALED BY THE CONSUMER'S INSURANCE COMPANY. *NM
MY 2004 BUICK RENDEZVOUS HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP 8 TIMES IN 10 1/2 MONTHS. CURRENTLY I AM EXPERIENCING A LOUD NOISE (MUCH LIKE AN AIR RAID HORN) WHILE I AM STOPPED IN TRAFFIC AND WHEN I TURN MY VEHICLE OFF. IT STARTED BACK IN APRIL, THE DEALERSHIP COULD NOT RECREATE THE NOISE, IN THE SHOP AGAIN 11/4/05 AND AGAIN 11/11/05. I JUST DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THE CAR. I IT IS GETTING PROGRESSIVELY WORSE, LOUDER AND MORE FREQUENT, LASTING LONGER. I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE 17 DEC 04 AND THE VERY NEXT DAY HAD A BREAK PROBLEM. MY 2004 RENDEZVOUS STALLED 3 TIMES. TOOK IT TO DEALER WHO SAID SOME CODES WERE STORED AND THEY SAID SOME WIRES WERE STRETCHED. ABOUT 2 WEEKS LATER IT STALLED AGAIN. WHEN IT STALLS I LOSE POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES MAKING IT HARD TO CONTROL. *JB
