WHILE VACATIONING VEHICLE STALLED AND THEY COULD NOT RESTART IT. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A NEARBY DEALER, AND CONSUMER WAS TOLD AFTER IT WAS STARTED, NOT TO TURN IT OFF UNTIL ARRIVING HOME. CONSUMER MADE IT HOME, AND DEALER COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. *AK
MY SECOND COMPLAINT (10110658). I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 55 - 65MPH; WHEN I SLOWED DOWN AS I WAS APPROACHING THE LIGHT, THE CAR CUT OFF. I SHIFT THE GEAR BACK TO PARK AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND PROCEEDED. THE CAR HAD BEEN WARM FOR 20 MINUTES AND IT WAS AROUND 7:40 A.M. IN THE MORNING. THIS IS AT LEAST THE 8TH INCIDENT WHERE I'VE BEEN IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC AND HAVING TO RESTART MY VEHICLE. I'M CONCERNED ABOUT A POSSIBLE ACCIDENT IN THE NEAR BY FUTURE. AFTER TAKING IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP IN FEBRUARY, THEY SUGGESTED THAT I TRIED USING FUEL FROM MORE REPUTABLE GAS STATIONS SUCH AS SHELL, TEXACO, AMOCO. USING BETTER GAS HAS NOT RESOVED THIS PROBLEM.*AK
I HAVE A 2004 BUICK RENDEZVOUS. BOUGHT IN DEC 04. THE FIRST STALL WAS SUMMER OF 05. THANK GOD EACH TIME IT STALLED, I WAS GOING 20 MPH OR LESS. I AM TRULY CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY FACTOR. WE HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER EACH TIME - THE DID THE RECALL ON THE IGNITION SWITCH - STALLS CONTINUE TO HAPPEN. THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO RECREATE THE PROBLEM. IT WILL BE GOING IN TO THE DEALER FOR THE 3RD TIME VERY SOON, AS IT STALLED AGAIN OVER CHRISTMAS. THE STARTER HAS BEGUN TO SOUND FUNNY - CAR HOLDS CRANK TOO LONG, DOES NOT SOUND RIGHT. *JB
GAS MILEAGE- STICKER LISTING IS 18/28 FOR 2004 BUICK RENDEZVOUS. HAS 7800 MILES. VEHICLE HAS NEVER EXCEEDED 18 MPH EVEN AT HIGHWAY DRIVING. DEALER HAS CHECKED SEVERAL TIMES, HAS DONE A ROAD TEST AND CAME UP WITH 17.4 MIXED HIGHWAY DRIVING. THEY STATE THAT IS WHAT TO EXPECT.*AK
THE VEHICLE WILL STOP RUNNING AND INDICATE THAT THERE IS LOW FUEL AND/OR NO FUEL, WITH A VISUAL DISPLAY (FLASHING LIGHT) AND AN AUDIBLE DISPLAY (DINGING BELL). THE CAR WILL SHUTDOWN. PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND THE VEHICLE WILL RESTART, BUT THE VISUAL AND AUDIBLE DISPLAY WILL STILL BE PRESENT. THE VEHICLE ACTUALLY HAS WELL OVER 1/2 A TANK OF GAS AT THIS POINT. THE DEALER HAS REPLACED THE FUEL CONTROL MODULE, THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR AND THE PROBLEM PERSISTS. ADDITIONALLY, THE DRIVER STEERING COLUMN DOES NOT LOCK INTO THE UPPER LIMIT LOCATION AND WIGGLES FREE VERY EASILY. THE VEHICLE IS DIFFICULT TO GET OUT OF PARK ON OCCASIONS AND WHEN SHIFTING FROM PARK AND/OR BACK INTO PARK, THE DOORS VERY FREQUENTLY DON'T LOCK AND UNLOCK AS THEY SHOULD. FINALLY, THE ELECTRONIC COMPASS NO LONGER FUNCTIONS AS IT SHOULD, I'VE RESET IT THREE TIMES AND IT CONTINUES TO ONLY GO IN SOUTHERLY DIRECTIONS (SW, S, SE) AND THE FUEL MONITORING SYSTEM (GALLONS USED, MILES LEFT TO EMPTY, ETC.) NO LONGER FUNCTION AS THEY SHOULD EITHER.*AK
STALLS SLOWING DOWN AT RED LIGHTS,CORNERS OR DRIVING THROUGH PARKING LOTS COULD RESULT IN BEING STRUCK FROM BEHIND WITH RESULTANT SERIOUS INJURIES. VISITED DEALER FOR FOURTH TIME AND INQUIRED AS TO ANY NEW SERVICE BULLETINS FROM GENERAL MOTORS AND WAS ADVISED THAT THERE WERE NONE.*AK
1) UPON RUNNING THE AIR CONDITIONER ON HOT DAYS, IT WOULD MAKE LOUD MOANING SOUND WHEN IGNITION WAS SHUT OFF 2) COMPRESSOR HAS GONE OUT FOR THE SECOND TIME AND AIR CONDITIONER WILL NO LONGER BLOW COLD AIR. 3) 03/05 REPLACED VALVE CORE AND 08/05 R&R OR REPLACED CASE. *JB
BUICK RENDEVOUS 2004, OWNER COMPLAINT ABOUT POOR DESIGN OF FRONT SIDE MIRROR AND FRONT SEAT SAFETY RESTRAINTS. *BF THE SEAT BELT STRAPS WERE NOT LONG ENOUGH AND THE EXTERIOR MIRRORS WERE TOO LARGE. *NM
2004 BUICK RENDEZVOUS' INSTRUMENT PANELS ARE HARD TO SEE DURING DAYLIGHT HOURS.*MR THE SPEEDOMETER IS MOST AFFECTED. *JB
DT: THE STARTER AND HORN DID NOT ALWAYS WORK. THERMOSTAT AND FUEL GAUGE WAS NOT ACCURATE. THERE HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN A PROBLEM WITH THE IGNITION SWITCH AND IT WAS REPAIRED DUE TO A RECALL. THE PROBLEM WITH THE STARTER STARTED IN MARCH OF 2005. THESE PROBLEMS HAVE NOT BEEN REPAIRED AS OF YET. WHEN THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY TOLD HER IT WAS DESIGNED THAT WAY. *JB
I TRAVEL FROM MICHIGAN TO FLORIDA EVERY YEAR AND IN JUNE 2004 BOUGHT A BUICK RENDEZVOUS. IT INTERMITTENTLY DOES NOT WANT TO START. NEVER KNOW WHEN IT WILL HAPPEN. IS THERE A RECALL OR PROBLEM WITH THIS? MY HUSBAND TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AND LEFT IT AND THEY SHUTTLED HIM HOME. INSIDE THE SHUTTLE WAS ANOTHER MAN WITH THE SAME PROBLEM WITH HIS RENDEZVOUS. SOUNDS LIKE SOMETHING WE SHOULD WORRY ABOUT...
THE RENDEVOUS WAS TRAVELING 18 MPH AND STRUCK BY A PACIFICA GOING 20-30 MPH THAT RAN A STOP SIGN. THE RENDEVOUS WAS STRUCK BETWEEN THE DRIVER SIDE REAR DOOR AND THE DRIVER REAR WHEEL WELL CAUSING THE RENDEVOUS TO FALL OVER ON ITS PASSENGER SIDE, SLIDE 15-30 FEET, HIT AN EMBANKMENT AND ENDED UP ON ITS 4 WHEELS AGAIN. *JB
2004 BUICK RENDEZVOUS HAS HAD ENGINE FAILURE 3 - 5 TIMES. AT LOW SPEEDS 0-15 MPH, CAR WILL WILL CUT OFF. THE CAR RESTARTS IMMEDIATELY ONCE YOU PUT IT BACK TO PARK OR NEUTRAL. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER ON ONE OCCASION BUT THEY WRE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE PROBLEM. I WILL TAKE IT TO THE DEALER AGAIN AND PROVIDE THE SIMILAR COMPLAINTS BY OTHER CONSUMERS. *AK
COULD NOT GET GEAR SHIFT LEVER OUT OF PARK POSITION. *JB
THE CONSUMER STATED HIS PARTICULAR PROBLEM IS THAT VEHICLE SIMPLY STOPPED RUNNING FOR NO REASON. *BF *SC *JB
THE VEHICLE STALLED WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. THE VEHICLE WOULD SOMETIMES CUT COMPLETELY OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR SERVICE, BUT THE DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *AK WHILE THE DEALER WAS TRYING TO FIND THE PROBLEM WITH THE STALLING, THEY FOUND THAT THE BRAKE MODULE LOST COMMUNICATION WITH THE COMPUTER. THE STALLING PROBLEM CONTINUED TO OCCUR. OTHER PROBLEMS WERE: THE BATTERY LIGHT HAD COME ON FOLLOWED BY ENGINE STALLING, THE EBCM WAS INTERMITTENTLY DROPPING OUT THEREFORE THE IGNITION RELAY WAS REPLACED AND THE LIFTGATE DID NOT OPEN PROPERLY. *SC *JB
THE WINDSHIELD WIPER WASHER KEEPS FREEZING UP DUE TO POOR DESIGN. THIS MAKES THE REMOVAL OF DEBRIS FROM WINDSHIELD IMPOSSIBLE. WHICH REDUCES THE DRIVER'S VISIBILITY THAT COULD RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN SERVICED SEVERAL TIMES FOR THIS ISSUE, IN WHICH ALCOHOL HAS BEEN ADDED TO THE WINDSHIELD WASHER FLUID TO THAW THE WINDSHIELD WIPER WASHER. THIS IS ONLY A TEMPORARILY FIX. *JB *TT
VEHICLE STALLS INTERMITTANTLY WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION,SO FAR, AT SLOW SPEEDS. VEHICLE COULD BE DANGEROUS IF STALLING PERSISTS ON BUSY ROADS. HAVE BEEN TO THE BUICK DEALERSHIP TWICE AND THEY CANNOT DETERMINE THE CAUSE DESPITE THOROUGH TESTING. NO PARTS REPLACED.*AK
VEHICLE STALLS INTERMITTANTLY WHILE IN MOTION. COULD BE DANGEROUS ON BUSY ROAD. WAS CHECKED BY DEALER TWICE BUT NO CAUSE FOUND.*AK
I BROUGHT A BUICK RENDEVOUZ ON JULY 17,2004. FROM THE VERY FIRST WEEK I HAD IT I TOLD THE DEALER THE GAS GAGE DOESNOT WORK PROPERLY. THEY CHECKED IT OVER AND STILL CANNOT FIND AHYTHING WRONG WITH IT. AND IT STILL NOT WORKING PROPERPLY NOW BUT THEAT IS NOT THE BIGGEST ISSU WITH THIS VEHICLE. THE FIRST INCIDENT 10.10.04. I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY TO WORK WHEN THE VEHILCE JUST STALLS OUT. I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT WAS GOING ON. THE CAR GET ROLLING FOR A COUPLE OF SCEONDS AND THEN I APPLIED THE BRAKE PUT THE CAR IN PARK. A COUPLE OF SECONDS LATER I STARTED THE TRUCK UP AND BEGIN DRIVING. I DROPPED THE TRUCK OFF TO THE DEALER AND TOLD THEM WHAT HAD OCCURRED. THEY REPLACED A APART AND SENT ME ON MY WAY. SINCE THEN THE VIDHILCE HASE STALLED OUT OVER 10 TIMES. AND SOMEDAY IT STALLS OUT TWICE A DAY. I HAVE BROUGHT IT BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY KEEP CHANGEING AND REPLACING PARTS BUT ITS NOT FIXING THE STALLING OUT. I AM SCARED THAT ME AND MY DAUGHTER WILL KILLED FROM IT STALLING OUT. THEY JUST CHANGED SOMETHING WITHT THE TRANSMISSON AND NOW IT BACK IN THE SHOP WITH THE SAME PROBLEM.

WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE WOULD JUST SHUT DOWN. THIS CAUSED ALL THE FUNCTIONS OF THE VEHICLE TO BECOME INOPERABLE. THERE WAS NO WARNING. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START AGAIN FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS. THE CONSUMER CONTACTED THE DEALER. HOWEVER, THE PROBLEM RECURRED. *AK IN ATTEMPTS TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM THE IGNITION RELAY #59 IN THE FUSE BOX AND THE DAMPNESS/CORROSION ON THE TERMINALS TO THE BODY CONNECTOR OF THE FUEL PUMP WERE REPLACED ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS. *SC
SEVERAL-FAILURES, BRAKING NOISE, FRONT/REAR TIRE WEAR, UNSECURED ROOF AND TOP TAIL LAMP. *BF STEERING WHEEL WAS NOISY ALONG WITH A THUMP ROAR AND GRINDING, THERE WAS POOR AIR FLOW CIRCULATION ON THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE, THE RACK ROOF WAS UNSECURED AND SIDE RAILS, POOR WEAR ON THE TIRES FRONT/REAR, REAR WHEEL RUBBING/GRINDING DURING NORMAL OPERATION, BRAKE NOISES, POOR IDLE AND SHUTS OFF THE ENGINE, LACK OF AIR FLOW FOR PASSENGERS IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE, AND THE RIGHT FRONT PASSENGER WINDOW BLACK RUBBER SEAM BUCKLED. *SC *JB
2004 BUICK RENDEZVOUS ENGINE STALLS WHILE DRIVING. CONSUMER STATES THAT HE WAS DRIVING AROUND 65 MPH WHEN THE ENGINE SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING. CUSTOMER STATES HE IS PAYING FOR BUICK'S MISTAKE. *KB THE CONSUMER WAS UNABLE TO STEER OR STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE VEERED INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC WHICH CAUSED THE CONSUMER TO HAVE A FATAL ACCIDENT INVOLVING ANOTHER MOTORIST. THE CONSUMER WAS INJURED. EIGHT MONTHS LATER, THE CONSUMER RECEIVED A RECEIVED A RECALL STATING THE ENGINE COULD SHUT DOWN AND RESULT IN A CRASH. *JB THE CONSUMER REQUESTED RECALL INFORMATION. UPDATED 03/24/12
VEHICLE STALLED WHILE STOPPED AT INTERSECTION - OCCURRED TWICE IN 2 DAYS. SUBSEQUENTLY VEHICLE EXPERIENCED EXCESSIVE CRANKING TO START - TWICE. ORANGE BUICK SERVICED THE VEHICLE AND REPAIRED A WIRE HARNESS THAT HAD BEEN WORN. 2 DAYS LATER WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT 30 MPH THE VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER (ENGINE AND ELECTRICAL), I HAD TO TURN ON THE FLASHERS AND PULL ON TO THE SHOULDER. ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED I PUT IT IN PARK AND IT RESTARTED. HOWEVER, THE 'TRACTION CONTROL OFF' LIGHT WAS ON AND AFTER PRESSING THE BUTTON IT REMAINED ON. *JB
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC, THE VEHICLE OVERHEATS. THIS IS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM. THE CONTACT CONTINUES DRIVING THE VEHICLE WITHOUT THE OVERHEATING CAUSING DAMAGE. THE DEALERSHIP IS UNABLE TO DETERMINE A PROBLEM AND THERE ARE NO CODES ON THE COMPUTER. THE CRUISE CONTROL DID NOT WORK AND THE GAS CAP WAS FAULTY WHICH CAUSED THE ENGINE LIGHT TO ILLUMINATE. SUDDENLY ABOUT 3 MONTHS AGO THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO STALL IN TRAFFIC WHILE BEING DRIVEN. THE DASH BOARD LIGHTS ALL GO OFF, THE RADIO WASHES OUT THE PRESETS, WHEN THE ENGINE IS TURNED OFF SOMETIMES THE RADIO PRESETS ARE ERASED. MANY TIMES THE AUTO LOCKS AND UNLOCKS WHEN SITTING IN THE LOT. THE DEALER HAS WORKED ON IT AT LEAST FIVE TIMES, TWO ENGINE CONTROL MODULES, A NEW WIRING HARNESS, THE AUTO HAS HAD ITS RADIO "RECALIBRATED" THIS THING IS DANGEROUS BECAUSE IT KEEPS SHUTTING OFF WHILE DRIVING. DEALER SAYS HE HAS HAD MULTIPLE PROBLEMS WITH SIMILAR CARS, AND THAT THEY CONTINUE TO BEHAVE IRRATIONALLY. OBVIOUSLY AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM, GM DENIES THERE IS ANYTHING WRONG, BUT WHEN IT SHUTS OFF GOING 0-60 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY THERE IS A PROBLEM. NOT TO MENTION THAT WHEN THE DASH BOARD LIGHTS SHUT OFF, OR THE RADIO STARTS TO ACT UNUSUAL IT IS VERY UNSAFE ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT. ONE TIME THE STEERING WHEEL RADIO BUTTON WERE SWITCHED, SEEK WAS BAND, AND BAND SEEK. *JB
VEHICLE STALLED INTERMITTENTLY AT LOW SPEED OF 0-15 MPH, OCCASIONALLY VEHICLE WOULD RESTART. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER ON ONE OCCASION, AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. CONSUMER WAS MAKING ANOTHER APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALER.*AK THE DEALER HAS INSTALLED A DATA RECORDER WHICH HAS RECORDED ONE FAILURE. THE CONSUMER IS WAITING FOR ANOTHER FAILURE BEFORE TAKING THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER. *NM
ON 7/27/04 VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED WHILE SITTING IN TRAFFIC ON INTERSTATE 4. AFTER SEVERAL MINUTES VEHICLE RESTARTED. DROVE TO DEALER FOR SERVICING ON 7/28 . DEALER RAN SCAN TEST AND FOUND MULTIPLE LOST OF COMMUNICATION FAILURES AT MULTIPLE MODULES. UPON DIAGNOSTICS FOUND BUSSED ELECTRICAL CENTER CONNECTORS NOT TORQUED TO SPECS. TIGHTENED ALL CONNECTORS AT BEC AND ROAD TESTED. VEHICLE RETURNED OK ON 7/29/04. ON 8/5/04 VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED WHILE TRAVELING 60 MILES PER HOUR ON INTERSTATE 4 IN HEAVY TRAFFIC ENDANGERING DRIVER AND PASSENGER. AFTER SEVERAL MINUTES VEHICLE RESTARTED AND VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO DEALER ON 8/6 /2004. DEALER STATED DIAGNOSTICS FOUND MULTIPLE FAILURE CODES SETTING. PER GM TECH ASSISTANCE CENTER WAS ADVISED TO REPLACE IGNITION SWITCH AND ROAD TEST. REPLACED IGNITION SWITCH AND ROAD TESTED VEHICLE. VEHICLE RETURNED OK ON 8/10/04. UPON PICKING THE VEHICLE UP ON 8/10/04 FROM THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN SEVERAL MILES ON ROUTE 50 AND SUDDENLY STALLED WHILE TRAVELING 45 MILES PER HOUR ENDANGERING THE DRIVER. AFTER SITTING SEVERAL MINUTES THE VEHICLE RESTARTED AND WAS IMMEDIATELY RETURNED TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE AGAIN STALLED UPON ARRIVING AT THE DEALER . DEALER CURRENTLY HAS THE VEHICLE . THE VEHICLE MUST BE REPAIRED TO PREVENT FURTHER STALLING SINCE DRIVER AND ANY PASSENGERS ARE IN DANGER ALONG WITH ANY OTHER VEHICLES IN CLOSE PROXIMITY. THE DEALER AND BUICK HAVE BEEN MADE AWARE THAT THE STALLING CREATES A HAZARDOUS CONDITION FOR THE DRIVER AND THE PUBLIC. DUE TO THE REPETITION OF SUCH STALLING THAT HAS OCCURRED ANY FUTURE HAZARDS CREATED BY THIS MALFUNCTION ARE FORESEEABLE BY THE DEALER AND BUICK. AS SUCH, WE CAN ONLY ACCEPT THE VEHICLE BACK UPON THE DEALER'S AND BUICK'S ASSURANCE THAT IT SAFE TO DRIVE AT THE POSTED SPEED LIMITS ON THE PUBLIC HIGHWAYS. IF SUCH ASSURANCE IS NOT POSSIBLE , THEN AS A MATTER OF PUBLIC POLICY THE VEHICLE SHOULD BE REPLACED OR OUR MONEY REFUNDED. *JB
(1) I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE ON JULY 30,2004. THE PROBLEM SHOWED UP ON MY WAY HOME FROM THE SELLING DEALER, TEAM CHEV, BUICK, CADILLAC INC. WHEN I MADE A SHARP LEFT TURN FROM ONE ROAD TO ANOTHER. AFTER I MADE THE TURN THE STEERING WHEEL DID NOT RETURN TO CENTER POSITION,AND I CAME TO A STOP BECAUSE I WAS SURPRISED BY THE STRONG LEFT PULL. (2) THIS IS AS PLAIN AS I CAN DESCRIBE THE PROBLEM. WHEN YOU MAKE A LEFT TURN THE STEERING WHEEL DOES NOT RETURN TO CENTER EVEN IF YOU STRAIGHTEN THE WHEEL IT WILL TILT LEFT, IF YOU CONTINUE DRIVING THE VEHICLE WANTS TO PULL TO THE LEFT. DEPENDING ON HOW SHARP A TURN YOU MAKE,IE A VERY SHARP LEFT TURN, THE VEHICLE PULLS SEVERELY TO THE LEFT. SOMETIMES IF YOU DRIVE SEVERAL MILES IT WILL EVENTUALLY RETURN TO CENTER. I EXPERIENCE THE SAME STEERING PROBLEM AFTER A RIGHT TURN, THE VEHICLE PULLS RIGHT, BUT THE RIGHT PULL DOES NOT SEEM AS SEVERE AS THE LEFT PROBLEM. I BELIEVE THIS PROBLEM COULD LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT, AND WHO KNOWS WHAT COULD BE THE RESULT. DEALER STATES THEY DROVE A 2002, 2003, 2004 RENDEZVOUS AND THEY ALL HAVE EXHIBITED THE SAME CHARACTERISTICS THE VEHICLE IS OPERATING AS DESIGNED. THIS BEING THE CASE I THINK THIS NEEDS A VERY CAREFUL INVESTIGATION AS THERE ARE A LOT OF VEHICLES ON THE ROAD THAT ARE A POTENTIAL HAZARD FOR HEAD ON COLLISIONS WITH THE STEERING PULLING TO THE LEFT AS IT DOES. *JB

PURCHASED THE VEHICLE ON 7/15/04, 3 DAYS LATER UPON STARTUP THE SECURITY LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD CAME ON AND STAYED ON UNTIL THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED. DEALER REPLACED A BODY CONTROL MODULE AND THAT SOLVED THE PROBLEM. IN OCTOBER 04, THE ENGINE STALLED WHILE PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE; AS THE ENGINE STALLED THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. VEHICLE RESTARTED AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TURNED OFF. HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALER AND SEVERAL BODY CONTROL MODULES WERE REPLACED. DURING THIS TIME HAD AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM WITH THE RADIO NOT HOLDING PRESETS, ALSO UPON STARTUP THE RADIO WOULD RANDOMLY PICK A STATION THAT WAS NOT PRESET. I WILL HAVE TO RETURN TO THE DEALER IN THE NEAR FUTURE FOR A POSSIBLE PROBLEM WITH THE ANTI-THEFT; THE DASHBOARD LIGHT DOES NOT FLASH TO SHOW THAT IT IS ARMED, ALSO A RUBBING NOISE COMING FROM THE RIGHT FRONT AREA JUST AS THE VEHICLE STARTS TO MOVE EITHER FORWARD OR REARWARD. WORST AMERICAN CAR I HAVE EVER OWNED AND WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER GM CAR AGAIN.*AK
WHILE DRIVING IN SUNNY WEATHER TRIP MILEAGE INDICATOR WAS DIFFICULT TO READ, LIGHTING WAS TOO DIM. *AK AT NIGHT ALL THE DISPLAYS ARE ADEQUATELY ILLUMINATED. *NM
VEHICLE STALLED IN TRAFFIC SOMETIMES WITH CRUISE CONTROL ON AND SOMETIMES WITH CRUISE CONTROL OFF. WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY AT 55 MPH VEHICLE JUST STOPPED AND WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED BY A TRACTOR TRAILER. THE IGNITION AND THE COMPUTER WERE CHANGED. DEALER STATED THERE WAS NOTHING DEFECTIVE.*AK ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHILE DRIVING WITH NO WARNING THE VEHICLE CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. CONSUMER COULD HEAR OTHER VEHICLE APPLYING THIER BRAKES AND THE CAR FOLLOWING SWERVED TO THE RIGHT TO AVOID HITTING THE VEHICLE, WHICE COULD HAVE RESULTED IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT OR/AND DEATH. *BF *NM
DT: THE CONTACT HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE REAR HATCHBACK OPENING WHILE DRIVING SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED. AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO REPAIR THE DEFECT BY THE DEALERSHIP THE CONTACT WAS ALERTED OF NHTSA RECALL CAMPAIGN 04V150000. THE RECALL NOTICES WERE SENT TO THE DEALERSHIP 15 DAYS BEFORE SHE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, AND THE RECALL REPAIRS DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. THE GAS GAUGE ON THE VEHICLE DID NOT WORK ACCURATELY. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE (ECM) MULTIPLE TIMES, BUT THE PROBLEM PERSISTED. THEY SUGGESTED THAT SHE DETERMINE THE AMOUNT OF GAS USED BY THE MILES TRAVELED. THE LOCKS DID NOT UNLOCK THE DOOR WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK. THE CONTACT HAD TO TURN THE VEHICLE ON AND OFF TO UNLOCK THE DOORS AND THE MANUAL LOCKS DID NOT ALWAYS WORK. THERE HAVE BEEN NO REPAIRS MADE TO THE LOCKS . *AK
CONSUMER EXPERIENCED A PROBLEM WITH OIL LEAKING INTO AN ELECTRICAL WIRING SLEEVE NEAR THE OIL PLUG WHENEVER THE VEHICLE GOT AN OIL CHANGE. OIL LEAKING INTO THE WIRING SLEEVE MAY CAUSE A FIRE. DEALER WAS NOTIFIED.*AK
WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED THE CHILD SEAT FLIPPED OVER WITH BABY IN IT. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. THE CONSUMER OBSERVED THE REAR MIDDLE SEAT BELT UNLATCHED. *AK IT WAS NOT ONLY DIFFICULT TO FASTEN THE SAFETY BELTS, IT WAS EASY TO INADVERTENTLY AND UNKNOWINGLY UNFASTENED THE INFANT SEAT BELT. *SC

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 BUICK RENDEZVOUS. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS, THE SPEEDOMETER AND FUEL GAUGE DISPLAYED INACCURATE READINGS. THE SPEED THAT WAS DISPLAYED WAS LOWER THAN THE ACTUAL TRAVELED SPEED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE DRIVER OBSERVED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED MORE FREQUENTLY WHEN TRAVELING EXTENDED DISTANCES. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED ABOUT DRIVING AROUND CURVES WITHOUT THE BENEFIT OF KNOWING THE DESIRED SPEED. THERE WERE NO WARNINGS PRIOR TO THE FAILURES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND THEY STATED THAT THE FAILURES WERE CONTRIBUTED TO MALFUNCTIONS OF THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER, WHICH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE SERVICE WARRANTY WAS EXPIRED AND THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 51,000.
2004 BUICK RENDEZVOUS HAS HAD ENGINE FAILURE THREE TIMES.*MR THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL INTERMITTENTLY WHILE DRIVING. THE FIRST TIME THE DEALER REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP AT 10000 MILES. THE SECOND TIME THE DEALER REPLACED THE CRANK POSITION SENSOR AT 11000. THE VEHICLE STALLED A THIRD TIME AT 12000 MILES AND WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER HAS NOT DETERMINED THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONSUMER BELIEVES SHE SHOULD BE GIVE A NEW VEHICLE SINCE THE PROBLEM CANNOT SEEM TO BE PERMANENTLY RESOLVED. *NM

GAS TANK NECK ON THE GAS TANK SNAPPED OFF WHEN HIT BY ROAD DEBRIS. AFTER DISCOVERING GAS SPILLING WHILE REFILLING , I NOTICED THE NECK ON THE GAS TANK WHERE THE FILLER HOSE CONNECTS TO THE GAS TANK (AT THE LOWEST POINT WHERE THE FILLER HOSE ENDS AND CONNECTS ONTO THE GAS TANK) HAD SNAPPED OFF. IT IS MY OPINION THE VEHICLE DESIGN LEAVES THE LOW HANGING HOSE (LIKE A RADIATOR HOSE) THAT CONNECTS TO THE NECK OF GAS TANK WAY OVER EXPOSED WITHOUT ANY SHEILDING FOR ROAD HAZARDS...IE DEBRIS...LUCKY FOR ME IT BROKE OF WHEN MY TANK WAS LOW. REPLACENT OF NEW TANK WAS $610 TOTAL COST WITH TAX AND LABOR WAS $778 TOTAL. *AK

AIR BAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND REMAINED ON WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH. CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. THEN, DEALER INFORMED THE CONSUMER THAT FRONT DRIVER'S AIR BAG HAD TO BE REPLACED. DEALER WAS WAITING FOR THE PARTS. *AK
WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH IN INCLEMENT WEATHER WINDSHIELD WIPERS FAILED. THIS CAUSED POOR VISIBILITY. DRIVER WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, AND DROVE IT TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *AK BOTH WIPER ARMS SNAPPED AND INTERLOCKED WHEN PUT THEM INTO OPERATION FOR THE FIRST TIME, THESE ARMS OVERLAP'S ONE ANOTHER WITH A VERY CLOSE TOLERANCE. WIPER ON PASSENGER SIDE DEFORMED AND TWISTED AS IT PULLED AWAY FROM THE OTHER AFTER INTERLOCKING. RUBBER BLADE PULLED OUT LEAVING THE METAL ARM TO SWEEP THE WINDSHIELD AND SCRATCH ON THE GLASS. *BF *NM

DRIVER TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, AND THE MECHANIC DID NOT HAVE AN ANSWER AT THIS TIME. *AK THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE GRAY ON GRAY PANEL WAS IN A SIX INCH RECESS DASH WHICH SHADES PENCIL THIN NUMBERS AND SLASHES BETWEEN NUMBERS E.G., 55/60. THE MOST SERIOUS PROBLEM WAS THE CLARITY OF THE SPEEDOMETER READINGS GOING NORTH, SOUTH, EAST, OR WEST. (COULD NOT BE READ AT A GLANCE) *SC
