My kids and I were driving down the road all of a sudden I heard this loud sound and then my car wouldn't turn left or right the steering wheel turned but not the car thank God I wasn't goin very fast I was able to slowly pull to the side of the rd then it started smoking like it was on fire my kids and I had to hurry and jump out an the carlot I got it from is picking it up to be looked at.
I bought my car from a used car lot. I had it about 3-4 months and out of the blue it overheated very quickly, the warning light was on, some type of loud buzzer was going off so I pulled over and let it cool off, it took about 45 minutes but it started back up. I checked all the fluids and coolant levels and everything was ok. This continued to happen for about 3 weeks, quickly overheat, lights, alarms pulled over, checked fluids over and over. After about 3 weeks it would quickly overheat and then shut off on its own and several times it happened so fast I barely got off the road.i took it to a mechanic that drove it around a little until it overheated which at this point only took about 3 minutes to happen. He said there was air in my radiator and he released it and it was fixed, I drove about 3 miles and it overheated again so I returned to the same mechanic and after about 6 minutes he came and told me it was a head gasket but they didn't repair those there so I called the next closest mechanic who looked at the car for about 3 minutes, stuck an air hose in the radiator and he said it was blowing out gas fumes from the radiator meaning I had a cracked head. I had to tow it 200 miles to my house, my wife drove it back and forth to work which was only 1 miles from home, she was able to do that for about a month and then the engine would start stalling at different times such as slowing to turn, pulling in to park, and some times it would stall while driving in busy 4 lane roads. Well, a little over a month went by with all these things happening all the time and finally one day she came home from work and started to pull in the parking spot and it shut off again, we had to push it into the spot but once it shut off that day it has never started since
The contact owns a 2005 Buick Rendezvous. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35-40 MPH, the vehicle started losing motive power and was shuddering while shifting gear. The “Service Engine Now” warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to pull over to side of the roadway, turn off and restart the vehicle and drove to her residence safely. The vehicle was not taken to the local dealer to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 175,000.

MY 2005 BUICK RENDEZVOUS ---HEADS WERE LEVELED AND COMPLETE VALVE JOB DONE WITH NEW WATER PUMP, THERMOSTAT, RELAY BELT,BYPASS HOSE, UPPER RADIATOR HOSE, AND COMPLETE COOLANT FLUSH. MY CAR KEEPS RUNNING HOT. PLEASE HELP!

I HAVE A GAS LEAK COMING FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY CAR IS THE FUEL LINE AND EVERY YEAR I HAVE TO CHANGE MY POWER STEERING PUNK AND I GET REGULAR OIL CHANGES AND MY TRANSMISSION STILL GOES SLOW AND MY CAR SMELLS LIKE FART I'M A TRUCK DRIVER SO I LEFT A YEAR-AND-A-HALF AGO SO MY CAR BEEN SITTING I JUST GOT BACK HOME ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO AND THESE ARE THE PROBLEMS THAT I'M FACING NOW .WHY
CAR WAS SOLD TO ME IN 2018. FIRST DAY DRIVING AFTER PURCHASE, OVERHEATED AFTER GOING MAYBE A MILE DOWN THE ROAD. HAVE HAD SEVERAL INSTANCES WHERE THIS HAS HAPPENED, AND SEVERAL DIFFERENT PARTS REPLACED. HEAD GASKET, WATER PUMP, THERMOSTAT, RADIATOR FLUSHED/FILLED, MOTOR MOUNT AND LEFT STRANDED SEVERAL OCCASIONS DUE TO THIS ISSUE. TWICE HAVING TO WALK IN THE WINTER WITH MY DAUGHTER. VEHICLE OVERHEATS IN MOTION, STATIONARY AND REGARDLESS OF CITY OR HIGHWAY.
GAS SMELL IN CAR INTERIOR, BOTH WHEN STATIONARY AND WHEN IN MOTION. NOTICED A RUSTED FUEL LINE, APPROXIMATE LOCATION UNDER DRIVERS SEAT.
IT FEELS LIKE THE TRANSMISSION IS GOING OUT BUT ONLY SOMETIMES. ON OCCASION IT WILL BE DRIVING FINE THEN I GO TO PULL OFF FROM A STOP AND IT JUST WONT REALLY GO LIKE MAYBE SKIPS 1ST GEAR OR AT LEAST PART OF IT. IT'S CRAZY AND DANGEROUS. PCM HAS BEEN CAUSING PROBLEMS. I FIRST LOST MY SPEEDOMETER WITH NO IDEA HOW TO FIX IT. INTERMITTENT GAS GAGE PROBLEMS, AND NOW VEHICLE CUTS OUT WHILE DRIVING. MECHANIC HAS RULED OUT PLUGS AND WIRES, COILS, IGNITION CONTROL AND MORE. NOW, I MUST GO TO THE DEALERSHIP WITH IT. THIS RECALL IS LISTED ON 2004
REAR WHEEL BEARINGS FAILED AT 30K MI. COOLING SYSTEM FAILED AT 110 K MI. CAR IN MOTION ON HIGHWAY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 BUICK RENDEZVOUS. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. AFTER INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE FUEL HOSE HAD DETACHED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AFTER TWO HOURS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 302,723.
THIS SUV WAS PURCHASED AT THE END OF AUGUST 2016 AND ONCE IN THE CAR AND DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD WE REALIZED THE VEHICLE POWER STEERING WAS HARD TO TURN AND THE BRAKES WERE GOING ALL THE WAY DOWN. WE ALSO HAD A CAR ACCIDENT, BECAUSE IT WAS VERY HARD TO TURN AND ONCE IN THE PARKING SPACE THE BRAKES WENT COMPLETELY OUT AND WHEN TRYING TO STOP THE SUV WOULD NOT STOP AND WE HIT A PARKED CAR WITH THE LADY IN THE CAR ON 9/11/2016. WENT ON LINE AND NOTICED RECALLS FOR POWER STEERING AND CLOTH SEATS ON SOME MODELS FOR AIR BAGS. SPOKE WITH GMC AND INFORMED POWER STEERING RECALL AND WOULD LIKE SUV CHECKED. CALLED TOW TRUCK TO TAKE VEHICLE TO GMC. WHEN WE GOT THERE THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT REQUEST WE TRY TO PURCHASE A NEW CAR INSTEAD OF GETTING THE VEHICLE FIXED. THE NEXT DAY WE WERE NOTIFIED THE TRUCK WAS NOT WORTH REPAIRING THE DAMAGES WERE OVER 1,000 FOR POWER STEERING AND BRAKES. THIS CAR WAS SOLD WITH ALL THESE PROBLEMS AND I FEEL SINCE THERE WAS PREVIOUS DEFECTS WITH THIS VEHICLE WE SHOULD AT LEAST BE GIVEN SOME TYPE OF COMPENSATION OR A NEW VEHICLE.
VEHICLE OVERHEATED TO THE MAXIMUM, THEN IT STALLED. I WAITED A BIT AND WAS ABLE TO RESTART IT. THE TEMP. RETURNED TO NORMAL. WHILE CONTINUING TO DRIVE HOME AT 35 MI PER HR. IT STALLED AGAIN, AND I WAS ABLE TO RESTART IT, AND MAKE IT HOME. I PHONED MY MECHANIC, AND HAD IT TOWED THERE. HE INFORMED ME THERE WAS WATER IN THE EXHAUST WHICH INDICATED EXPENSIVE HEAD GASKET PROBLEMS. HE SUGGESTED I SELL THIS VEHICLE ASAP. I HAD ONLY OWNED IT 2 MONTHS! WHEN THIS PROBLEM OCCURRED I WAS IN MOTION AT 35 MI PER HR. ON A CITY STREET. VERY DANGEROUS!
MY SPEEDOMETER HAS STOPPED WORKING. MOSTLY IS READS 120 MPH WHEN I AM SETTING STILL. BECAUSE IT FLUCTUATES FROM MOVING OR NOT MOVING. BUT NEVER CORRECTLY. I HAVE BEEN REDUCED TO RELYING SOLELY ON A GPS SPEEDOMETER.
ON, THURSDAY, JULY 9TH 2005, I TRIED TO START MY VEHICLE, IT STARTED BUT THE IGNITION SEEMED TO KEEP TRYING TO START. NONE OF THE START UP LIGHTS WORKED (OIL, BRAKE, SERVICE ENGINE, SEAT BELT), SO I KNEW SOMETHING WAS WRONG. I TURNED THE ENGINE OFF AND TRIED RESTARTING IT AND IT WOULDN'T START. I KEPT TRYING TO START IT FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES. I FINALLY GAVE UP AND WENT INSIDE. I CAME BACK OUT AND TRIED TO START IT AGAIN ABOUT 15 MINUTES LATER AND IT STARTED UP JUST FINE AND EVERYTHING WAS WORKING INSIDE. ON MONDAY, JULY 13TH 2005, I TRIED TO START IT AND NOTHING HAPPENED. I WAITED ABOUT 10 MINUTES AND IT STARTED RIGHT UP LIKE NOTHING WAS EVER WRONG. I FEEL LIKE THERE'S A PROBLEM WITH THE IGNITION SOMEWHERE. I'M AFRAID OF WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF THE CAR STALLS WHILE I'M DRIVING IT. THE ABS SEEMS TO COME AND GO AS IT PLEASES AS WELL, I DON'T KNOW IF THERE HAVE BEEN ANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THAT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2005 BUICK RENDEZVOUS. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE NEAR THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE. THE DRIVER WAS ALERTED BY ANOTHER MOTORIST THAT THE VEHICLE WAS ON FIRE. IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE FIRE WAS DUE TO A FUEL LEAK FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 196,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED AND THAT THE OIL PAN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. ONE DAY I WAS ON MY WAY TO DROP OF THE KIDS AT DAYCARE WHEN THE CARE SUDDENLY TURNS OFF, I WAS GOING AT LEAST 60 MPH;I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY. THANK GOD NOTHING HAPPENED , I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER SAFELY I WAITED FOR A WHILE THEN MAYBE 15 MIN LATER IT TURNS BACK ON.I STARTED TO NOTICE THAT THE CAR STARTED SMELLING, LIKE GAS, I TOOK IT TO THE MECHANIC,SEVERAL TIMES BUT THEY NEVER COULD FIGURE OUT WHAT IT WAS. AFTER THAT INCIDENT IT WENT DOWN HILL IT STARTED TO HEAT UP ON ME, WASTED MORE GAS, WOULD TURN OFF ON ME A LOT AND AIR/HEAT STOPPED WORKING. I REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION BECAUSE IT STARTED TO SLIP, THINKING THAT IT WILL FIX THE PROBLEM AND BOY WAS I WRONG. IT WAS STILL DOING THE SAME, THE SMELL WAS GETTING WORSE, I TOOK IT BACK TO MY MECHANIC. HE TOLD ME THAT THE HEAD GASKET NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, I DIDN'T HAVE MORE MONEY. HE DID'T LET ME DRIVE HOME, HE WAS VERY WORRIED BECAUSE THE SMELL OF GAS WAS SO BAD, HE SAID THAT I SHOULD RISK MY KIDS AND MYSELF, THE CARE CAN CATCH ON FIRE. HE HAD THE TRUCK TOWED TO MY HOUSE DIDN'T CHARGE ME FOR IT AND I HAVEN'T MOVED IT SINCE THEN..IVE PUT SO MUCH MONEY IN THAT TRUCK, I KEPT UP WITH THE MAINTENANCE LIKE CLOCK WORK. I WAS JUST LUCKY THAT WE NEVER CRASHED WE GOT CLOSE AND WE DIDN'T BLOW UP. I DON'T KNOW WEATHER I SHOULD TAKE IT IN TO A GM DEALER TO HAVE THEM EVALUATE THE TRUCK TO SEE IF IT IS PART OF THE RECALL.
INTERMITTENT LOSS OF POWER, LOSS OF ABS BRAKES AND LOSS OF AWD. WHEN YOU APPLY PRESSURE TO THE GAS PEDAL (ACCELERATOR) IF YOU DEPRESS THE PEDAL FOR WHAT FEELS LIKE OVER A 1/2 INCH YOU LOSE POWER AND THE RPMS GO SKY HIGH AND YOU CAN HEAR IT TRYING TO REV UP. TO GET GOING YOU HAVE TO RELEASE THE GAS AND PRESS LIGHTLY. I LOSS POWER, ESP. GOING UPHILL SINCE IT NEEDS MORE TO GO, BUT YOU CAN'T GIVE IT MORE GAS ELSE IT WON'T GO. I AND MY FIANC WERE ALMOST HIT IN AN INTERSECTION BECAUSE OF THIS LOSS OF POWER. YOU CAN GAIN SPEED, BUT VERY SLOWLY AND ANYTIME YOU DEPRESS THE GAS PEDAL FURTHER IT AGAIN FAILS. REPLACED THREE WHEEL BEARINGS, ALL BRAKES, TWO CALIPERS AND THE THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR. NOTHING SHOWS ON THE READOUT EXCEPT FOR THE FRONT BEARINGS AREN'T READING RIGHT, BUT THEY'RE BRAND NEW AND HAVE BEEN RE-CHECKED FOR DEFECT. STILL THAT HASN'T FIXED THE ISSUE. UPON PROBLEM HAS ACTUALLY BEEN OCCURRING FOR ALMOST TWO MONTHS NOW. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 BUICK RENDEZVOUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEAT FAILED TO OPERATE WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE THERMOSTAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE HEAD GASKET NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
IN THE SPRING OF 2012 (APPROXIMATELY 48,000 MILES), I WAS DRIVING IN A 40 - 45 MPH ZONE, MADE A SHARP LEFT TURN INTO A PARKING LOT AND THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN AND POWER STEERING TO SHUT DOWN. I PREVIOUSLY REPORTED THIS INCIDENT TO MY LOCAL BUICK DEALER, PINEGAR CHEVROLET, BRANSON, MO, JUST TO HAVE THIS INCIDENT ON RECORD. ON DECEMBER 29, 2014 (89,000 MILES) THIS SAME TYPE EVENT OCCURRED WHEN SLOWING DOWN (IN A 45 MPH ZONE) AND MAKING A SHARP LEFT TURN INTO A PARKING LOT. CAR SHUT OFF, HAD TO COMPLETELY STOP, PLACE GEAR IN PARK AND RESTART. SOUNDS LIKE SAME IGNITION ISSUES DISCOVERED IN GM CARS RECENTLY, BUT THE BUICK RENDEZVOUS HAS NOT BEEN INCLUDED. *TR
I WAS DRIVING AND MY HEADLIGHTS FLICKERED THEN I LOST LOW BEAMS .. PARKED AND WENT BACK OUT TO GO TO THE STORE AND I HAD NO LIGHTS LOW BEAMS WOULDN'T WORK FOG LIGHT STOP WORKING AND HIGH BEAMS STOPPED WORKING LOOK IN FUSE BOX TO SEE IF A FUSE BLEW AND 6 FUSES BLEW AND SHOT SPARKS OUT OF THE FUSE BOX UNDER THE HOOD. *TR
I WAS COMING TO A STOP TO MAKE A TURN AND MY BRAKE PEDAL FOUGHT BACK AT ME AND I HAD TO PUT ALL MY STRENGTH TO GET THE CAR TO STOP. I FINALLY GOT IT TO STOP BUT I'M WORRIED ONE DAY IT WILL NOT STOP AND I'LL GET INTO A WRECK. I DON'T KNOW IF THIS HAS TO DO WITH THE BRAKE SYSTEM OR SOMETHING MORE SEVERE. *TR

IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT FUEL WAS LEAKING BENEATH THE VEHICLE ON THE DRIVER SIDE. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 250,000.
WHEN I WOULD START MY CAR IN THE MORNING, I WOULD GET A OVERWHELMING GAS SMELL IN MY TO POINT OF ME THINKING GAS WAS LEAKING UNDERNEATH MY AND I WOULD GET OUT AND CHECK AND NOTHING. I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC AND ASKED HIM IF THE CAR WAS LEAKING GAS AND HE SAID NO. I'M CONSTANTLY ADDING POWER STEERING FLUID TO MY VEHICLE AT LEAST TWICE A MONTH . AND RECENTLY MY SPEEDOMETER NEEDLE HAS STARTED STICKING AND SOMETIMES NOT WORKING AT ALL. IRONICALLY MY GAS NEEDLE IS ALWAYS FLUCTUATING THROUGHOUT MY CAR TRIPS. I'M SO NERVOUS WHEN I DRIVE BECAUSE I THINK I'M ABOUT TO RUN OUT OF GAS EVEN THOUGH I MAY HAVE RECENTLY ADDED GAS TO THE CAR. THIS MAY SOUND SIMPLE BUT THE GAS FUMES ARE MAKING ME SICK AND MY TWO KIDS ESPECIALLY SINCE ALL OF US SUFFER FROM ASTHMA. PLEASE PROVIDE A RESOLUTION OR FIX FOR THESE UNHEALTHY INCIDENTS.
LETTER FROM SENATOR NELSON ON BEHALF OF CONSTITUENT RE 2005 BUICK RENDEZVOUS DEFECTS. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED A BOLT IN THE STEERING BROKE. AFTER SHE PAID TO HAVE IT FIXED, A RECALL WAS ISSUED SIX MONTHS LATER. *JB
STARTED VEHICLE AND BEGAN OUT OF DRIVEWAY, SECURITY LIGHT CAME ON, GAS GAUGE, TACH GAUGE, TEMPERATURE GAUGE AND ODOMETER STOPPED WORKING, CAR WILL START BUT NOT RUNNING RIGHT, I PARKED THE CAR DUE TO SAFETY. THIS EXACT PROBLEM WAS RECALLED BY GM ON THE 2004 MODEL BUT NOT 2005 MODEL, NEEDS TO BE RECALLED. *TR
SPEEDOMETER GIVING INACCURATE READING TOTALLY INOPERABLE. ALL GAUGES INSTRUMENT PANEL NOT WORKING. AWD DISABLE LIGHT REMAINS ON. TACHOMETER, SPEEDOMETER, HEAT GAUGE READS ERRONEOUS SPEEDS HIGHER THAN TRUE SPEEDS. HIGH 135MPH WHEN STOPPED. TOTALLY INOPERABLE. *TR
I WAS DRIVING THE CAR CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP AT THE RIGHT LIGHT, TURNED GREEN TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE PUSH THE GAS PEDAL, CAR COMPLETELY CUT OFF, COULD NOT GET IT TO CRANK, SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, I HAD TO GET THE CAR TOWED, TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, I HAVE A 50% WARRANTY ON THE ENGINE, POWERTRAIN, AND TRANSMISSION. THEN CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR NEED TO BE REPLACE AND THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I ONLY HAD THIS CAR FOR ONE WEEK, WHEN IT STARTED DOING THIS, THE CAR IS STILL CUTTING OFF AND IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING I HAVE A YOUNG SON, THIS ISSUE IS VERY SERIOUS DOESN'T MATTER WHERE I AM WHILING DRIVING THE CAR JUST CUTS OFF. I STARTED DRIVING MY CAR AND A FEW BLOCKS AWAY MY LOCKS STARTED TO LOCK AND UNLOCK CONSTANTLY AND THEY WOULD NOT STOP. MY SEAT MOVED ON ITS OWN (HAS ELECTRIC MEMORY SEATING). THE CAR STARTED TO SHAKE LIKE IT WAS GOING TO DIE. AS SOON AS I CAME TO A STOP THE CAR STARTED TO SHAKE AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. AN "ERROR" MESSAGES DISPLAYED UNDER THE NON WORKING SPEEDOMETER WHERE YOUR MILES USUALLY SHOW". CAME TO ANOTHER STOP AND TRIED TO TURN ONTO A STREET AND THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AND KEPT "JUMPING" ALL THE WHILE THE LOCKS WERE STILL LOCKING AND UNLOCKING AND MY RUNNING DAYTIME HEADLIGHTS KEPT FLICKERING ON AND OFF. I'M LUCKY THAT THE CAR DIDN'T JUST QUIT WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC. FROM WHAT I READ, IT'S THE BCM AND THIS CAUSES MAJOR PROBLEMS REGARDING THE SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE. BUICK IS AWARE AND WILL NOT MAKE A RECALL ON THIS DEFECTIVE PART. (A PART THAT IS SUPPOSED TO LAST FOR THE LIFETIME OF THE VEHICLE).. A PART THAT HAS CAUSED SOME DRIVERS TO LOSE POWER AND HEADLIGHTS WHILE TRAVELING DOWN HIGHWAYS! I'M TAKING MY CAR INTO BUICK TOMORROW FOR A DIAGNOSTIC (WHICH I CAN'T AFFORD MORE PROBLEMS WITH A CAR THAT COST $40K IN 2005 AND ONLY HAS 81K MILES ON IT!!) WHEN THEY SAY LUXURY VEHICLE. UPDATE: PRIOR ISSUES WERE DUE TO BCM FAILURE WHICH THAT WAS MY ASSUMPTION BASED ON NUMEROUS OWNER REVIEWS. THIS PART IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE IF FAILS AND BUICK IS AWARE AND WON'T RECALL. THESE SHOULD LAST FOR THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE. OCCASIONALLY ONE WILL GO BAD BUT SHOULDN'T. THE FACT THAT MANY RENDEZVOUS MODELS FACE THIS ISSUE OF FAILURE PREMATURELY SHOWS THAT IT IS A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT! MANY HAVE ALMOST DIES DUE TO THIS FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES FOR THE FAILURE. THE DEALER REPLACED THE BRAKE PADS, THE TIRES, AND WHEEL; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,142.

THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 75 MPH, THERE WAS A SUDDEN LOSS OF ENGINE POWER AS THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL WARNING LAMP ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 97,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 102,000.
WE FOUND OUT THAT WE HAD A PROBLEM WITH MY WIFE'S VEHICLE. INITIALLY, THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY. I TOOK IT TO GET AN OIL CHANGE AND WAS ASKED TO COME INTO THE SHOP TO BE SHOWN THAT THE ANTIFREEZE WAS LIKE YOGURT IN THE RESERVOIR. WE WERE TOLD THAT WE NEEDED A COOLANT FLUSH. THIS LED TO BEING TOLD THAT WE NEEDED A NEW RADIATOR; BYPASS HOSE; AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST, HEAD GASKET JOB AMOUNTING TO APPROXIMATELY 1600.00. WE WERE TOLD THAT THERE WAS NO OPEN RECALL BUT YET THERE WAS LITIGATION GOING ON REGARDING DEX-COOL ANTIFREEZE AND THAT IT WAS CAUSING ALL OF THE PROBLEMS THAT WERE AND ARE HAVING WITH THIS VEHICLE.
WE HAVE HAD NUMEROUS ISSUES WITH THE 2005 BUICK RENDEZVOUS. THE BIGGEST ISSUE IS THE FUEL LOSS. THE CAR IS LEAKING FUEL. PEORIA KIA STATED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE AND SINCE WE PURCHASED IT USED IT WAS AS IS. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND WE NEED TO GET THE FUEL AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FIXED..WE HAVE TWO CHILDREN AND IT IS NOT SAFE FOR US. I AM GLAD THAT I FOUND THIS RECALL INFORMATION BUT I NEED HELP GETTING THE FUEL AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FIXED. *JS
RAW GASOLINE FUMES UPON STARTING THE CAR . FUMES ENTER THE CABIN SO STRONG THE WINDOWS HAVE TO BE ROLLED DOWN . NO APPARENT LEAK. NO FUEL ON GARAGE FLOOR. THIS BEGIN IN =FEB 2013 AND CONTINUES OFF AND ON. SOME TIMES IT FEELS LIKE IT WOULD EXPLODE IF A IGNITION SOURCE WAS THERE. A DEFINITE HEALTH HAZARD AND GM DEALER HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO IDENTIFY THE SOURCE OF THE FUMES. I SEE OTHER REPORTS OF THIS PROBLEM ON THE INTERNET. DEALER SAYS NO RECALL AND NO SAFETY BULLETINS. 2004 HAD A RECALL BUT NOT 2005, IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE UNLESS PROBLEM IS FOUND.
STEPPER MOTORS IN THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FAILING. ONE GAUGE GOES BAD THEY ALL DO. CANNOT DETERMINE HOW MUCH GAS I HAVE OR HOW FAST I AM GOING CAUSE ALL NEEDLES POINT DOWN OR STOP AT 70. I CAN BE AT A RED LIGHT , COMPLETELY STOPPED AND IT SAYS I AM GOING 110 MPH. I HAVE A 4 YEAR OLD, A 5 YEAR OLD, AND A 5 MONTH OLD IN THE BACK OF THE CAR. ITS PRETTY SCARY FOR THEM AS WELL. I HAVE SEEN THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH GM MADE CARS FROM 2000-2005. WOULDN'T YOU THINK THEY WOULD FIX THIS BY NOW? NOT HAPPY WITH THIS CAR AT ALL. *TR
I WAS DRIVING DOWN EASTERN AND STEWART IN LAS VEGAS NV WHEN THE CAR STALLED AND WOULD NOT START AGAIN WHILE TRYING TO COAST INTO A 7-11 PARKING LOT HIT A WALL AND CAR REAR ENDED ME . I REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP, ECV AND THE VEHICLE WORKED FINE THERE WAS GAS LEAKING FROM THE ECV NOW I CANT GET THE CAR TO START AT ALL I BELIEVE IT HAS TO DO WITH THE ELECTRONIC IGNITION SYSTEM. *TR
WHEN WE REACH SPEED OF 60MPH IT STARTS JUMPING IN AND OUT INTO A HIGHER GEAR. THIS CAR HAS A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. *TR
WE HAVE BEEN PLAGUED WITH A STEERING WHEEL COLUMN PROBLEM FOR OVER 18 MONTHS. THIS PROBLEM STARTED AT 50,000 MILES. IT MADE A LOUD SQUEALING NOISE WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL WAS TURNED AND OVER THE NUMEROUS VISITS TO VARIOUS GMC DEALERS, WE WERE REPEATEDLY TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG AND IT WAS SAFE TO DRIVE. AFTER CONTACTING GMC ITSELF, THEY SENT US TO A DEALER WHO AT FIRST AGAIN SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG. THEN TWO HOURS AFTER BEING CHALLENGED THEY RETESTED AND 'DISCOVERED' WHAT THEY DESCRIBED AS WEAR AND TEAR. WE WERE CHARGED $1,250 AND GIVEN A 1 YEAR WARRANTY. THEY DENIED THIS WAS A RECALLED COMPONENT. I STILL DO NOT TRUST THE RESULTS NOR THIS CAR, BUT I CANNOT AFFORD GETTING ANOTHER CAR. *JS
A TOTAL AND SUDDEN LOSS OF STEERING OCCURRED AS I LEFT THE CURB AND STARTED INTO THE STREET. ALTHOUGH IT FELT LIKE I HAD POWER STEERING, I HAD ABSOLUTELY NO CONTROL OF THE FRONT WHEELS AND THEREFORE THE CAR WAS TOTALLY OUT OF CONTROL EXCEPT FOR THE BRAKES. THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO THE BUICK DEALER. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT DESCRIBED THE FAILURE SEQUENCE AS FOLLOWS: FIRST THE BRACKET HOLDING THE STEERING RACK ON THE R/H SIDE BROKE LOOSE THEN THE MOUNTING BOLT ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RACK FELL OUT. I FOUND THE BOLT IN THE STREET AND GAVE IT TO THE SERVICE MANAGER. AFTER THE BOLT HOLDING THE LEFT SIDE FELL OUT, THERE WAS NOTHING HOLDING THE STEERING RACK IN PLACE SO THERE WAS NO POSSIBILITY OF CONTROLLING THE CAR. THE DEALER REPLACED THE RACK TWO OR THREE TIMES DURING THE NEXT WEEK THINKING THAT THE REPLACEMENT RACKS WAS DEFECTIVE. HOWEVER THERE WAS STILL A PROBLEM IN THE POWER STEERING. IT SEEMED TO BIND UP WHEN MAKING A TURN, ONLY SOMETIMES. FINALLY, THE DEALER REPLACED THE STEERING SHAFT SAYING THAT A U-JOINT IN THE STEERING SHAFT WAS BROKEN OR BADLY DAMAGED. NOW IT APPEARS THAT THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN SOLVED. I HAVE A PHOTOGRAPH SHOWING THE RACK WITH THE BROKEN MOUNT. IT APPEARS THAT THE WELD THAT HOLDS THE MOUNTING BRACKET TO THE RACK, BROKE LOOSE. MY WIFE IS THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THE CAR. THE CAR HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. THE CAR HAS NEVER BEEN USED FOR ANY TYPE OF OFF-ROAD USE. THE CAR HAS ONLY BEEN DRIVEN ON CITY STREETS AND PUBLIC HIGHWAYS BY DRIVERS THAT ARE MORE THAN 60 YEARS OLD. THE CAR (AND WHEELS) SHOW NO SIGN OF DAMAGE. THE DEALER SAID THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THIS MODEL CAR AND THAT HE HAD NEVER SEEN SUCH A FAILURE. BECAUSE THE CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY, THE MANUFACTURER ASSUMES NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE FAILURES. HOWEVER, ALTHOUGH I DID PAY TO HAVE THE STEERING RACK REPLACED, THEY DID NOT CHARGE ADDITIONAL FOR THE STEERING COLUMN. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY INDICATED THAT AIR NEEDED TO BE PLACED IN THE TIRES, ROTATED THE TIRES MORE THAN ONCE AND LATER INDICATED THAT TWO OF THE FOUR TIRES WERE FAILED. ADDITIONALLY, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FAILED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO REPLACED THE INSTRUMENT PANEL BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE STALLED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO REPLACED THE BATTERY BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
