TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CADILLAC ATS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WERE SEVERAL PROGRESSING FAILURES WITHIN MONTHS OF OWNING THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SEVERAL INDEPENDENT MECHANICS WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE INTAKE O2 SENSOR MAY BE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURES, BUT NO DATA WAS FOUND. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WERE ELECTRICAL FAILURES, THE TPMS WARNING INDICATOR KEPT ILLUMINATING, THE VEHICLE WAS IDLING ROUGHLY, AND THERE WAS A LEAK IN THE REAR AXLE. IN ADDITION, AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC STATED THAT THERE WAS A MISFIRE ON CYLINDER THREE. THE DEALER (PENINSULA CHEVROLET, 4 HEITZINGER PLAZA, SEASIDE, CA 93955, (831) 275-0933) DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A LOW RATE OF PRESSURE IN CYLINDER FOUR. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN NOTIFIED FOR MONTHS AND WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE A PERMANENT SOLUTION. THE MANUFACTURER OPTED TO REFUSE A BUY BACK OR TRADE IN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000. *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CADILLAC ATS. AFTER HAVING THE SEATS SERVICED AT THE DEALER, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THEY NO LONGER OPERATED PROPERLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,096.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CADILLAC ATS. WHILE THE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE POWER STEERING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND PREVENTED THE DRIVER FROM TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER TO HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC PERFORMED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11,100.
THERE IS AN AUTOMATIC LOCK FEATURE ON THIS VEHICLE. IF THE KEY IS LEFT IN THE CAR, THE DRIVER'S DOOR IS TO REMAIN UNLOCKED. ON MAY 5TH 2015, THIS FEATURE MALFUNCTIONED AND LOCKED ALL DOORS. THE SAFETY COMPLAINT I HAVE IS THAT MY 19 MONTH OLD BABY WAS IN THE CAR WHEN THIS HAPPENED. FORTUNATELY, I WAS IN MY DRIVEWAY AND WAS ABLE TO LOCATE MY SPARE KEY WITHIN MINUTES AND GET HER OUT. I LIVE IN AZ. IF THIS WERE TO HAPPEN AWAY FROM HOME ON A HOT SUMMER DAY, THE OUTCOME COULD HAVE ENDED UP IN FATALITY. PLEASE SUGGEST A RECALL SO THIS CAN NEVER HAPPEN TO ANYONE. *TR
PISTON FAILURE 2013 ATS REQUIRED MOTOR REPLACEMENT. *TR
CADILLAC ATS 2013 CONTINUES TO STALL AND TURN OFF CAUSING LOSS OF STEERING OF VEHICLE. THIS HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP 4 TIMES FOR REPAIR, AND VEHICLE HAS STILL BEEN STALLING. *TR
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING TO HER PARENTS HOUSE GOING UP A INCLINE AND THE VEHICLE COULDN'T PULL THE HILL SLOWED DOWN TO APPROX. 20MPH BUMPED AND SHOOK AS IT WENT UP THE HILL. WHEN SHE GOT OUT OF THE CAR AT HER PARENTS HOUSE YOU COULD SMELL SOMETHING LIKE BURNT TRANSMISSION OR SOMETHING. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON TWO OTHER OCCASIONS AND THE 1ST INSTANCE CADILLAC DEALER SAID THE COMPUTER TO THE TRANSMISSION DUMPED ITS PROGRAM AND THEY WENT IN AND REPROGRAMMED THE TRANSMISSION BUT IT STILL DOES THE SAME THING. I WILL BE TAKING IT BACK IN AFTER CHRISTMAS. HYDROPLANING IS ALSO A HUGE PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR. THIS CAR ALSO DOESN'T LIKE TO STAY IN A LANE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. I FEEL THIS CAR ISN'T SAFE TO DRIVE AND WILL BE LOOKING FOR AN ATTORNEY TO DEEM IT AS A LEMON. *TR
TWO TIRES BLEWUP ON THE FREEWAY 275 AT THE SAMETIME. I HEARD THE SAME COMPLAINT FROM MY FRIEND WHO HAPPENS TO HAVE THE SAME CAR 2013 CADILLAC ATS WHO HAD BLOWN UP TIRES FOR ALMOST 5-6 TIMES. PLEASE CHECK WITH CADILLAC DEALERS RECORDS THAT HOW MANY CARS HAVE BEEN BROUGHT IN FOR THIS SPECIFIC TIRE ISSUES. TIRE SIZE: "225/40R18/92V". *TR
TRANSMISSION ISSUES. RATTLING UNDER THE CHASSIS THAT SOUNDS LIKE SOMEONE GRABS THE DRIVE SHAFT AND SHAKES IT WHEN THE CLUTCH IS PUSHED AT SLOW SPEEDS IE MOVING UP AT A STOP SIGN, IN TRAFFIC ETC. DEFECTIVE DUAL MASS FLYWHEEL WAS FOUND AFTER THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT TOLD ME MY CLAIMS WERE UP TO FACTORY STANDARDS. AFTER TAKING APART THE TRANSMISSION (AT LESS THAT 10K MILES) GEARS 1-4 WERE FOUND TO BE DEFECTIVE AS WELL. THE VEHICLE STILL HAS SHIFTING ISSUES AND A LOUD RATTLE. I ROAD TESTED A 2015 MANUAL ATS AND IT DROVE SMOOTH WITH NO RATTLES. I WAS TOLD THE 2015 WOULD DRIVE THE SAME ONCE IT HIT 10K MILES LIKE MINE WHICH IS A RIDICULOUS STATEMENT. VEHICLE HAS ALSO SHUT OFF WHILE IN TRAFFIC, AND UPON RESTARTING THE VEHICLE I NO LONGER HAD AN POWER STEERING. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THIS VEHICLE FOR MYSELF OR MY CHILDREN. THERE ARE MANY REPORTS OF ISSUES WITH THE 2013-2014 MANUAL ATS AND RECORDS OF GM BUY BACKS. THE SERVICE MANAGER AGREES THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLE AND RECOMMENDED I CALL GM TO INITIATE A BUY BACK. BUT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT INSISTS THIS IS FACTORY STANDARD AND REFUSES TO ADDRESS THE ISSUES. *TR

HELLO NHTSA OFFICER, I'M A CADILLAC 2013 ATS CUSTOMER FROM CHINA. SOMEDAY I FIND SOME CUSTOMERS SAY THIS CAR'S ENGINE LEAKS OIL FROM FORUM. WHILE ABOUT TO TURN LEFT, AFTER PULLING OUT THE CAR ENGINE STALLED, AND SHUT DOWN LEAVING ME IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROADWAY WHILE BEING APPROACHED BY ONCOMING CARS. THE CAR IMMEDIATELY STARTED UP AGAIN AFTERWARDS. ADDITIONALLY, WHILE DECELERATING THE CAR FROM 70 MPH TO A COMPLETE STOP. JUST PRIOR TO MAKING A COMPLETE STOP, THE CAR BEGAN TO STALL, AND AGAIN TURNED OFF. THIS TIME JUST AFTER MAKING A STOP. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE CADILLAC DEALER. THEY ARE CURRENTLY CHECKING INTO THE ISSUE AND ALLEGE THIS IS NOT A COMMON OCCURRENCE. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. I HOPE THEY FIND THE PROBLEM. HISTORICALLY THE DEALER HAS REPROGRAMMED THE ECM. THE CAR HAS RECEIVED ALL OF ITS PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE AT THE SAME DEALERSHIP NAMED WILLIAMSON CADILLAC IN SOUTH, FLORIDA. THE CAR HAS HAD ROUGH IDLE SINCE IT WAS PURCHASED, AND I WAS TOLD THIS WAS NORMAL, AND NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT EACH TIME THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN BROUGHT UP TO THE DEALERSHIPS SERVICE DEPARTMENT. MOREOVER, I HAVE BEEN TOLD THE MOTOR MOUNTS ARE LIQUID MOTOR MOUNTS, AND THAT THE SHAKING IS AS A RESULT OF THE VIBRATION THAT OCCURS JUST AFTER STARTING THE CAR, BUT THIS IS NOT TRUE. THE ROUGH IDLE OCCURS ALL THE TIME, AND NOW IT HAS PROGRESSED TO COMPLETE ENGINE STALLING WHILE TURNING OR DECELERATION. THE CAR IN QUESTION HAS AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, ALSO IT ALSO JERKED AFTER IT WAS PLACED INTO GEAR DURING THE MOST RECENT SITUATION / COMPLAINT. *TR
I OWN A 2013 CADILLAC ATS 2.0T WITH MANUAL TRANSMISSION (6MT). MY VEHICLE HAS STALLED UNEXPECTEDLY MULTIPLE TIMES WHILE IT IS BEING DRIVEN. LAST TIME WAS AT ABOUT 30MPH WHILE I WAS COMING UP TO A LIGHT AND IT IS SCARY, ESPECIALLY WHEN PEOPLE AROUND YOU START BEEPING AND YELLING. WHEN IT HAPPENS, THE VEHICLE HAS TO BE TURNED OFF THEN ON AGAIN, SO IT ISN'T A QUICK THING. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME THERE IS NOTHING WRONG. I WENT ONLINE AND THERE ARE MULTIPLE VIDEOS AND COMPLAINTS OF THE VERY ISSUE. GM KNOWS THIS IS HAPPENING AND THEY ARE NOT DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT. THIS IS JUST AS BAD AS THE IGNITION SWITCH ISSUE, AND SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET HURT (I ALMOST DID A FEW TIMES). I HAVE A CASE OPEN WITH GM AND I WANT MY MONEY BACK FOR THIS CAR. IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP AT LEAST 6 TIMES IN THE YEAR THAT I'VE HAD IT. *TR
SINCE JUNE 2013, THE CADILLAC ATS HAS BEEN MAKING A VIBRATION FEELING. THE VIBRATION IS UNKNOWN, IT HAS BEEN TO SERVICE TWICE. FIRST I WAS SUGGESTED TO TRY A DIFFERENT GAS (PREMIUM GAS). THE PROBLEM CONTINUED TO OCCUR, SO I SWITCHED BACK TO REGULAR GAS. THEN RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER ABOUT THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT AND THAT PROBLEM WAS FIXED. BUT I ALSO ASKED SERVICE TO DRIVE VEHICLE AROUND WHILE IN THE SHOP TO FIGURE OUT THE OCCURRING VIBRATION ISSUE. SERVICE TOLD ME ALL THE CADILLAC ATS'S CARS DO THE SAME THING AND THAT THATS HOW THEY WERE MANUFACTURED, BUT THE PROBLEM CONTINUES. I DON'T WANT TO INSERT A DIFFERENT GAS TYPE IF THE CAR IS SUPPOSE TO TAKE REGULAR UNLEADED. (I BOUGHT CAR BECAUSE IT IS GAS SAVER). AS A CUSTOMER I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO CHANGE THE GAS AND SPEND MORE THAN I ALREADY AM MONTHLY IF THE CAR IS NOT RUNNING PROPERLY. NOR SHOULD I HAVE TO KEEP TAKING IT IN FOR RECALLS AND PAYING FOR A CAR ($552 PER MONTH) IF IT WAS NOT MANUFACTURED CORRECTLY IN THE FIRST PLACE. I HAVE THE RIGHT TO EXCHANGE MY DEFECTED VEHICLE AT THE COST OF GENERAL MOTORS. *TR
I TURNED THE CAR OFF IN MY DRIVEWAY. WHEN I STARTED IT THE POWER STEERING DIDN'T WORK. *TR
THESE "RUNFLAT" TIRES HAVE HAD SOME IMPACTS FROM POTHOLES. I HAVE HAD 4 OF THEM FAIL BEGINNING WITH THE CITED UNITS. TYPICALLY, THE SIDEWALL BEGINS TO BULGE AND THEN A CRACK APPEARS SOME TIME LATER ABOUT 4 INCHES LONG EXTENDING WELL INTO THE TIRE ABOUT AN INCH AWAY FROM THE BEAD. THE CORD IS EXPOSED. *TR
THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE SITTING IN NEUTRAL, WAITING AT A RED LIGHT. THE AIR CONDITIONING WAS RUNNING. THE ENGINE RUNS SO QUIETLY THAT FROM INSIDE THE VEHICLE I WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO TELL THE ENGINE HAD SHUT OFF IF THE A/C HAD NOT STOPPED BLOWING. I RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND AN ALERT CAME ON THE DASH SCREEN STATING: SERVICE POWER STEERING, DRIVE WITH CARE. I WAS APPROXIMATELY 3/4 OF A MILE FROM MY HOME COMING DOWNHILL ON A QUIET NEIGHBORHOOD STREET SO I CAREFULLY DROVE THE VEHICLE HOME AND PARKED IN THE GARAGE WHILE I CALLED THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT MY LOCAL CADILLAC DEALERSHIP. HE TOLD ME THE POWER STEERING IS CONTROLLED BY THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM MAY HAVE GLITCHED WHEN I RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND NOT BEEN ACTIVATED. HE SAID I COULD RESTART THE VEHICLE AFTER 30 SECONDS AND THE POWER STEERING SHOULD FUNCTION PROPERLY AGAIN. HE TOLD ME IF THERE IS AN ISSUE I CAN HAVE GM TOW THE VEHICLE IN, OR IF THE POWER STEERING BEGINS TO FUNCTION AGAIN I CAN DRIVE IT IN TO HAVE IT SERVICED. ONCE I RESTARTED THE VEHICLE THE POWER STEERING WAS FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. I WILL BE HAVING CADILLAC LOOK AT THE VEHICLE THIS AFTERNOON. *TR
ON FEBRUARY 22ND AND 27TH 2014, WHILE TRAVELING AT 75MPH THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL SLAMMED THE BRAKES ON THEN RELEASED. I THOUGHT THE SYSTEM HAD MISS-READ THE SHADOW OF AN OVERPASS AS A VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME BECAUSE THAT WAS THE ONLY THING IN SIGHT WHEN THE BRAKES LOCKED, THERE WERE NO VEHICLES PRESENT. ROADS WERE DRY. IT WAS REPORTED TO CADILLAC VIA THEIR 800 NUMBER AND THEN BROUGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP 4 MARCH 2014,FOR ANALYSIS. THE DEALER IMPLEMENTED AN UPDATE TO THE ACTIVE SAFETY CONTROL MODULE. CADILLAC STATED THEY WOULD SEND AN E-MAIL TO MY DEALER ABOUT THE PROBLEM, BUT DEALER STATED THEY NEVER RECEIVED THE E-MAIL. NO FURTHER PROBLEM NOTED UNTIL 1 APRIL 2014, FOUR WEEKS LATER, DURING A TRIP THE SAME ACTION HAPPENED TWICE WITHIN A MILE OF TRAVEL. BRAKES WERE ABRUPTLY APPLIED, RED SCREEN ON DASH WITH CRASH IMMANENT. AGAIN AT 70MPH AND NO BRIDGES OR OTHER VEHICLES IN PATH. THE ROAD CONDITION WAS WET. THIS IS A LARGE SAFETY CONCERN FOR ME IF THE BREAKS SHOULD LOCK AT 70+ MPH AND NOT RELEASE AND I HAVE TRAFFIC BEHIND ME. *TR
THE AUTOMATIC COLLISION AVOIDANCE BRAKING SYSTEM ACTIVATED AT FREEWAY SPEEDS WITH NOTHING IN FRONT OF THE CAR FOR OVER A MILE AND FULLY SLAMMED THE BRAKES AND FLASHED THE HEADS UP DISPLAY COLLISION WARNING. THIS SYSTEM FAILED MULTIPLE WAYS, ONE IT THOUGHT THERE WAS AN EMINENT COLLISION WHEN THERE WASN'T AND TWO IT ISN'T SUPPOSED TO APPLY BRAKES AT THOSE SPEEDS. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES AND THE MOST RECENT WAS AFTER A "FIX" BY THE DEALER. IF THERE HAD BEEN AN 18 WHEELER BEHIND ME WHEN THE CAR SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES THAT COULDN'T STOP AS FAST AS MY CAR THERE WOULD'VE BEEN AN ACCIDENT WITH POSSIBLE FATALITY. *TR
HELLO, I HAVE A 2013 CADILLAC ATS 2.0T AWD AND I HAVE BEEN HAVING SERIOUS ISSUES WITH THE CAR STALLING AND IDLING ROUGHLY. IT HAS STALLED ON MY THREE TIMES ALREADY SINCE I GOT THE CAR IN OCTOBER, AND I HAVE TAKEN IT IN FOR SERVICE ON TWO DIFFERENT OCCASIONS FOR THAT SAME ISSUE. EACH TIME THEY KEPT THE CAR FOR THREE DAYS TO TRY AND REPLICATE THE ISSUE WITH NO ANSWERS FOR ME EXCEPT "MAKE SURE YOU BRING IT IN NEXT TIME IT HAPPENS". I NO LONGER FEEL SAFE DRIVING THE CAR ESPECIALLY SINCE THE LAST TIME IT HAPPENED I WAS DRIVING 25MPH IN HEAVY TRAFFIC, AND I NARROWLY AVOIDED GETTING REAR-ENDED. *TR
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE STREET AND THE CAR TURNED COMPLETELY OFF AND THEN I PANICKED, HIT THE CLUTCH, PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL, AND HIT THE START BUTTON TWICE TO RESTART THE CAR. I TOOK IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME THEY COULDN'T FIND AN ISSUE AFTER DRIVING THE CAR FOR 2.2 MILES. THEY ADVISED ME TO CONTINUE DRIVING THE CAR AND RISK MY SAFETY ON THE ROAD. THE CONSUMER STATED HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE REPAIR SHOP THREE TIMES, FOR THE SAME ISSUE.
I HAVE EXPERIENCED AN INTERMITTENT SHUDDER/JERKINESS IN THE PAST MONTH WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT LOW SPEEDS. TODAY, WHILE SLOWING AND TURNING INTO A PARKING LOT, THE ENGINE SHUT OFF AND I COASTED THE VEHICLE INTO A PARKING SPACE AND STOPPED. I TURNED ON THE IGNITION AND THE CAR STARTED IMMEDIATELY. HE SAID THAT THEY ARE AWARE OF THE SHUDDER AT LOW SPEEDS AND HAVE A FIX FOR THAT PROBLEM. HE SAID THAT THEY HAVE NOT HEARD OF THE VEHICLE ACTUALLY STALLING. I TOLD HIM THAT HE COULD READ ABOUT IT ON THE FORUM ABOVE. HE ASKED ME TO BRING MY VEHICLE INTO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE SOME TRANSMISSION PARTS REPLACED. I AM CONCERNED THAT THIS MIGHT ONLY RESOLVE THE JERKING, BUT NOT THE STALLING, WHICH IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. I HAVE HAD 4 RECALLS ON MY ATS SINCE PURCHASE JUNE 2013. STARTING 2/5/14 WITH ONLY 3308MI TAKEN THE CAR IN SEVERAL TIMES FOR SQUEAKING SOUND WHEN BACKING OUT OF MY GARAGE COMPLAINED AFTER FOURTH VISIT WITH THE SAME COMPLAINT AND LISTENING TO THE DEALER TO SAY THAT WAS NORMAL FINAL ON 5TH VISIT ON 12/10/14 7960MI FINAL SOLVE THE PROBLEM. SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ABOUT WHEN BACK WINDOWS ARE ROLL DOWN THERE IS A LOUD SQUEALING SOUND THAT HURTS YOUR EAR AND DISTRACT YOUR DRIVING AGAIN I WAS TOLD THAT WAS NORMAL HOW CAN THAT BE NORMAL WHEN YOU CAN'T ROLL BACK WINDOW DOWN FOR FRESH AIR. ALL SO COMPLAINED ABOUT LOSING RADIO SIGNAL ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS PENSKE REPROGRAMMED. REPLACED WEATHER STRIP AROUND FRONT DOORS DRIVER& PASS SIDE 8/20/14 6521MI. SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ABOUT HOW ROUGH THE ENGINE RUNS WHEN STOP AT RED LIGHT ON 12/10/14 REPROGRAMMED ENGINE. IS THERE ANY SAFETY STATION I CAN TAKE MY CAR FOR SAFETY CHECK. I AM AFRAID TO EVEN DRIVE THIS CAR ON THE FREEWAY AT HIGH SPEED. I PAID OVER $37,000 THE CAR HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP MORE THAN THE PREVIOUS CAR I WAS DRIVING WHICH WAS 2001 BUICK LESABRE. I DON'T FEEL THAT PENSKE CADILLAC IS BEING HONEST WITH PROBLEM I WAS TOLD THAT THE LOUD NOISE FROM DRIVING IS COMING FROM EXHAUST SYSTEM. PLEASE ADVISE ON WHERE I CAN GO TO GET A SECOND OPINION WITHOUT VOIDING MY WARRANTY. WHAT IS THE LEMON LAW REGARDING THESE ISSUES? TURNED CAR OFF. STARTED 5 MINS LATER MOVED JUST A COUPLE MILES AND HOUR AND POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES WENT OUT. TURNED CAR OFF AND WORKED AFTER THAT. *TR
THE COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYSTEM ACTIVATED WHILE AT FREEWAY SPEED, HOWEVER THERE WERE NO CARS OR OBSTRUCTIONS AHEAD OF MY CAR. THE BRAKES WERE AUTOMATICALLY APPLIED, THE COLLISION WARNING APPEARED ON THE HUD, AND THE CAR RAPIDLY DECELERATED. HAD THERE BEEN A VEHICLE BEHIND ME, THERE WOULD CERTAINLY HAVE BEEN A SERIOUS COLLISION. I HAD JUST PASSED A SEMI-TRUCK AND THOUGHT MAYBE A REFLECTION FROM THE TRUCK MAY HAVE ACTIVATED THE SYSTEM, BUT I HAD COMPLETED THE PASSING MANEUVER BEFORE THE CAR BRAKING ACTIVATED. TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER ON 4/4 BUT THEY REPORTED NO PROBLEMS WITH THE SYSTEM. THIS SEEMS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. *TR
WHEN THE VEHICLE IS COMING TO A STOP OR SLOWING DOWN WITH THE CAR IN EITHER NEUTRAL OR THE CLUTCH PRESSED ALL THE WAY DOWN, THE VEHICLE WILL STALL. THE STALL IS NOT ABRUPT BUT VERY SUBTLE. THE CAR DOES NOT JERK FORWARD BUT JUST DIES WITHOUT THE DRIVER KNOWING. CANNOT TELL THAT THE VEHICLE HAS STALLED UNTIL I TRY TO RE-ENGAGE GEAR AND PRESS THE GAS. ALWAYS HAPPENS AT UNDER 5 MPH, RIGHT BEFORE THE CAR HAS COME TO A STOP OR IS ROLLING TO A STOP WITH THE CAR IN NEUTRAL OR CLUTCH PRESSED ALL THE WAY DOWN. *TR
DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE THE CAR SUDDENLY STARTED LOSING SPEED AND IT WOULD NOT LET ME ACCELERATE. I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT TO THE SHOULDER. ONCE I GOT TO THE SHOULDER THE CAR IDLED FOR A FEW SECONDS BEFORE THE ENGINE COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. I WAS ABLE TO START THE CAR AGAIN AND DRIVE ABOUT ANOTHER MILE AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED. WE WERE ABOUT 1 MILE FROM A GM CAR DEALERSHIP AND WE MANAGED TO GET THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP, BUT IT STALLED 3 TIMES ON THE WAY (ONCE ON A 2 LANE BRIDGE). THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY COULDN'T WORK ON CADILLACS, SO WE HAD IT TOWED TO A CADILLAC DEALERSHIP (THE CAR DIED AGAIN WHILE THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER WAS TRYING TO LOAD IT). THEY HAVE DRIVEN IT OVER 200 MILES AND HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THEY DID A COMPUTER UPDATE AND ARE RETURNING THE CAR TO ME AND SAID THAT THEY ARE NOT CONFIDENT THE UPDATE WILL FIX THE PROBLEM. IT DID NOT THROW ANY WARNING LIGHTS AND THE DEALER SAID THEY DIDN'T SEE ANY CODES. WE WERE DOING 70 DOWN THE INTERSTATE AND IF THERE HADN'T BEEN A PLACE TO PULL OVER, WE WOULD HAVE BEEN REAR ENDED BY AN 18 WHEELER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 325 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 8,100.

CRUISING DOWN A HILL PROBABLY IN NEUTRAL, CAR STALLED SILENTLY WITH NO BUCKING OR NOISE, JUST DIED. NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS TO START THE CAR WERE UNSUCCESSFUL. AFTER EASILY 15 ATTEMPTS AND APPROXIMATELY 30 MINUTES THE CAR STARTED BUT WAS WITH FAMILY, AT NIGHT ON DARK TWISTY AND HILLY ROAD AND DID NOT FEEL CONFIDENT TO DRIVE IT. HAD IT TOWED ULTIMATELY FOR CADILLAC SERVICE. IN SHOP FOR MORE THAN A WEEK, TECH COULD NOT FIND OR DUPLICATE PROBLEM. HAPPENED AGAIN A WEEK OR SO LATER, IN NEUTRAL COMING TO A RED LIGHT, COMPLETE SILENT STALL, AFTER ABOUT 10 MINUTES AND SEVERAL ATTEMPTS THE CAR STARTED AND I DROVE BACK TO CADILLAC SERVICE. AGAIN NO PROBLEM FOUND AFTER IN SHOP A FEW DAYS. ON MY WAY HOME IT HAPPENED AGAIN AT A RED LIGHT BUT STARTED ON FIRST. I FEEL UNSAFE DRIVING CAR, ESPECIALLY WITH FAMILY IN IT WHICH I HAVEN'T DONE RECENTLY. FIRST STALL PARTICULARLY WAS IN A DANGEROUS PLACE AND POLICE WOULD NOT LET CAR STAY ON ROAD AND WE PUSHED IT OFF THE MAJOR ROAD. UNEXPECTEDNESS AND PERHAPS INABILITY TO RESTART QUICKLY ARE FRIGHTENING AND A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. *TR
STEERING WHEEL WHEN TURNING ALL TO LEFT VIBRATE AND SOME TIME LOCKS,DASH BOARD WARNING PLEASE DRIVE WITH CARE,SERVICE REQUIRED.CONTACTED DEALER SINCE 2013 MANY TIMES NO PROBLEMS FOUND EXCEPT ONE TIME DID PULL UP CODE,RESET COMPUTER,CONTACTED CADILLAC AND I WAS TOLD SINCE THERE IS NO RECALL IS OK TO DRIVE THE CAR LIKE THAT HOWEVER IS ON RECORD.PROBLE STILL THERE AND I FILL IS UNSATE TO DRIVE.
VEHICLE HEADLIGHTS WITH THE HID OPTION DO NOT ALWAYS ALIGN PROPERLY CAUSING ONE SIDE, EITHER LEFT OR RIGHT ON OCCASION TO AIM HIGHER THAN THE OTHER. THIS ISSUE SEEMS TO BE HAPPENING WHEN THE VEHICLE HEADLIGHT SELECTION IS IN THE AUTO MODE AND THE KEY FOB OR IGNITION BUTTON IS USED. THIS HAS BECOME A NUISANCE BECAUSE I MUST CONSTANTLY PARK BY A WALL TO MAKE SURE THE HEADLIGHTS HAVE ALIGNED PROPERLY BEFORE DRIVING OFF AND BLINDING ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THE CALIBRATION CYCLE SEEMS TO BE FAULTY AND I HAVE BEEN TO TWO DEALERS WITH NO RESOLVE. I AM ALSO WORKING WITH CADILLAC CUSTOMER SERVICE AND AM HOPING FOR A QUICK SOLUTION. VEHICLE TURNS OFF WHEN IN NEUTRAL APPROACHING TO STOP. THIS IS NOT FROM IMPROPER FOOT WORK ON THE CLUTCH. THE VEHICLE IS IN NEUTRAL. IT HAS HAPPENED OVER 13 TIMES SINCE VEHICLE PURCHASED ON 7/26/2013 (FIRST INCIDENT ON DATE OF PURCHASE). THE VEHICLE WILL TURN ON IMMEDIATELY AFTER. IT HAS BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP THREE TIMES AND TWICE THEY KEPT IT FOR A WEEK. THE PROBLEM DID NOT DUPLICATE WITH THE DEALERSHIP. ON THE THIRD VISIT THEY REPLACED THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE. THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE RANDOM STALLING IN A 10 MILE TEST DRIVE AS IT ONLY HAPPENS TO ME ONLY ONCE A WEEK OR TWO. THIS COULD BE MORE DANGEROUS IF IT DID NOT RESTART AND I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION OR MOVING.
WHEN COASTING TO COME TO A STOP THE VEHICLE ENGINE WILL STALL. THE VEHICLE EITHER DOESN'T ATTEMPT TO IDLE AT ALL ONCE THE CLUTCH HAS BEEN DEPRESSED, OR IT SEEMS TO GET TO A LOWER RPM THAN NORMAL (<500RPM) AND THEN THE ENGINE JUST SHUTS OFF, VERY ABRUPTLY. *TR
WHEN COASTING TO COME TO A STOP THE VEHICLE ENGINE WILL STALL/TURN OFF. THIS HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES SINCE THE FIRST INCIDENT IN JUNE. THIS IS A 6 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION EQUIPPED VEHICLE, AND THE TRANSMISSION IS EITHER IN NEUTRAL OR THE CLUTCH PEDAL IS DEPRESSED SO THAT THE ENGINE/TRANSMISSION ARE DECOUPLED. I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO WATCH THE TACHOMETER WHEN IT HAS STALLED TWICE, AND THEN THE ENGINE JUST SHUTS OFF, VERY ABRUPTLY (NO SHAKING, OR NOISE). IT HAS ALSO HAPPENED WHEN SLOWING TO TAKE A TURN WITH THE CLUTCH PEDAL DEPRESSED, WHICH IS VERY DIFFICULT TO GET BACK STARTED AS YOU ARE TRYING TO DRIVE AND NOT CAUSE AN ACCIDENT (PLUS THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKS). I HAVE REPORTED THIS TO THE DEALER, AND THEY HAVE TRIED TO DIAGNOSE IT, HOWEVER NO FIX HAS HAPPENED. IT WILL NORMALLY STALL ABOUT ONCE EVERY WEEK OR SO, IT IS VERY INTERMITTENT. THE DEALER WENT AS FAR AS TO BLAME ME FOR STALLING THE VEHICLE, THEY SAID I DIDN'T DISENGAGE THE CLUTCH AT A HIGH ENOUGH RPM WHICH IS COMPLETELY UNTRUE AND REGARDLESS THE CAR WAS IN NEUTRAL AND I WAS COASTING TO A STOP (THEREFORE IT WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE TO STALL THE VEHICLE IN GEAR). I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS ISSUE, THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS PEOPLE ON FORUMS COMPLAINING OF THE SAME ISSUE. MY CAR IS CURRENTLY IN THE LEMON PROCESS WITH THE BBB AUTOLINE PROGRAM AS THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES. DEALER/GM CAN NOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE AND HAS NO IDEA WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. *TR

I HAVE HAD 2 ACCIDENTS. 1 ON A VERY BUSY CRAWLING ROAD WISCONSIN AVE, DC ON A BUSY SAT AFTERNOON IN BUMPER TO BUMPER TRAFFIC WHEN I STARTED TO ACCELERATE AND THE FORCE OF MY MOVEMENT CAUSED THE TRUCK IN FRONT OF ME TO CRASH INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. WEIRD, BUT CONFUSING. I HAD A SIMILAR EPISODE THIS PAST WEEK LEAVING MY HOME. I WAS STOPPED IN THE STREET BEHIND MY SON'S TRUCK. HE STARTED TO MOVE AND I PLOWED INTO HIM CAUSING MASSIVE DAMAGE TO THE CADILLAC AND SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO HIS TRUCK AS WELL, A VERY LATE MODEL CHEVY. I WAS NOT ON THE PHONE OR THE BRAKE OR CHANGING THE RADIO OR IN ANY WAY DISTRACTED DURING THESE EPISODES. THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. IT HAS 8000 MILES ON IT IN ABOUT 18 MONTHS. *TR
WHEN COASTING TO A STOP LIGHT, OR A STOP SIGN, THE CAR WILL OCCASIONALLY STALL FOR NO REASON. I DRIVE A STICK SHIFT, AND WILL MOVE THE SHIFTER INTO NEUTRAL AS I AM COMING TO A STOP, AND ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, THE CAR HAS JUST STALLED OUT AND I LOSE ALL POWER STEERING AND ELECTRONIC BRAKE ASSISTANCE, WHICH MAKES STOPPING THE CAR MORE DIFFICULT. THIS ISSUE HAS ALSO OCCURRED A FEW TIMES WHEN ACTIVELY DRIVING AT HIGHER SPEEDS. I WILL GET A MESSAGE ON MY DIC SAYING THAT MY POWER STEERING NEEDS TO BE SERVICED, AND SHORTLY AFTER THE CAR STALLS. *TR
