THE CUE SCREEN CRACKED AND NO LONGER FUNCTIONS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CADILLAC ATS. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE INCREASED AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO OVERHEAT. ALL THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONTACT WAS UNAWARE IF SMOKE WAS PRESENT FROM UNDER THE HOOD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BRAMAN MIAMI (2060 BISCAYNE BLVD, MIAMI, FL 33137, (305) 720-2629) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WERE NO FACTORY WARRANTIES ON THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND CONFIRMED NO RECALLS OR WARRANTIES PER THE VIN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000. THE VIN WAS INVALID.
CADILLAC QUE DOES NOT WORK. CHANGES CHANNELS ON ITS ON. TOUCH SCREEN DON'T WORK. CAN'T CHANGE CHANNELS. CAN'T USE HANDS FREE BLUE TOOTH. CHANGES ON THE DASH.
CADILLAC ATS 2014 - WHEELS/TIRE RIMS - I PURCHASED THE CAR IN 2014 WITH MICHELIN RUN-FLAT LOW PROFILE TIRES. AS OF TODAY, NOVEMBER 16, 2018, I HAVE REPLACED 22 TIRES, DUE TO THE TIRE ITSELF SEPARATING FROM THE TIRE RIM. IN SEVERAL CASES THE CAR DID NOT INDICATE ON THE DISPLAY PANEL THIS PROBLEM EXISTED. THE BENEFIT OF THESE TIRES IS TO ALLOW YOU TO RIDE ON THEM FOR APPROXIMATELY 40-45 MILES. THE PROBLEM IS THE CAR DOES NOT ALWAYS INDICATE THE ISSUE ON THE DASHBOARD DISPLAY AND YOU DON'T KNOW HOW LONG YOU WERE ALREADY DRIVING WITH THE ISSUE. ALSO, ON OCCASION THE DISPLAY SHOWS PSI ZERO WHEN IT FIRST ALERTS YOU TO THE PROBLEM, WHICH REQUIRED ME TO BE TOWED AFTER WAITING ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD FOR OVER AN HOUR. WHILE WAITING FOR THE TOW TRUCK, CAUSING DANGER TO MYSELF AND OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROAD. WHEN I ADDRESSED THIS WITH THE DEALER, THEY INDICATED THE CAR DOES NOT REGISTER A TIRE ISSUE UNLESS THE INNER LINING OF THE TIRE IS RIPPED. WHEN DRIVING I AM CONSTANTLY WEAVING TO PREVENT ANY SIZE POT HOLE TO PREVENT ANOTHER TIRE EPISODE. THIS ALSO CAUSES A DANGEROUS SITUATIONS. THE TIRE AND/OR TIRE RIMS SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED, TO PREVENT ANY FUTURE HAZARDOUS DRIVING SITUATIONS FOR MYSELF AND OTHERS. I HAVE PICTURES OF A FEW OF THE TIRE RUBBER SEPARATED FROM THE TIRE RIM, AND ALSO HAVE ALL THE RECEIPTS FOR THE (21) TIRE REPLACEMENTS AND TOWING RECEIPTS IF NEEDED. INCIDENTS HAVE HAPPENED IN NY, NJ AND PA, THE CAR WAS IN MOTION WHEN THE CAR DISPLAY WOULD INDICATED A PROBLEM, HOWEVER, IN SEVERAL OF THE INCIDENTS I SAW THAT THE TIRE WAS SEPARATED FROM THE TIRE RIM, YET THE CAR DISPLAY DID NOT INDICATE AN ISSUE. I CAN BE CONTACTED ON MY CELL PHONE [XXX]. I INDICATED IT HAPPENED 11/16/18, THIS HAS HAPPENED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, UP TO THIS DATE 21 TIRES HAVE BEEN REPLACED, IN ON INSTANCE 3-TIRES WERE REPLACED AT ONE TIME. TRANSMISSION SHIFT CABLE - TRANSMISSION GEAR SELECTION DOES NOT MATCH THE INDICATED GEAR CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO MOVE IN AN UNINTENDED OR UNEXPECTED DIRECTION. I WAS BACKING UP AND WENT TO PUT THE GEAR IN DRIVE AND I PRESSED THE GAS BUT THE CAR WENT BACKWARDS. I HIT THE BRAKE AND ATTEMPTED TO MOVE THE GEAR HANDLE AND IT SHIFTED FORWARD VERY LOOSELY. ALTHOUGH IT DISPLAYED DRIVE ON THE GEARBOX, WHEN I PRESSED THE GAS THE CAR WOULD STILL GO IN REVERSE. CAPITAL CADILLAC IN SMYRNA, GA LATER CONFIRMED THAT THE SHIFT CABLE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BUT NEVER MENTIONED THIS RECALL "GENERAL MOTORS (GM) IS RECALLING APPROXIMATELY 90,750 MODEL YEAR 2013-2014 CADILLAC ATS, AND 2014 CADILLAC CTS VEHICLES. THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT CABLE ON THE AFFECTED ATS AND CTS VEHICLES MAY DETACH FROM EITHER THE BRACKET ON THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER OR THE BRACKET ON THE TRANSMISSION. IN FACT, I WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE ADVISOR AT CAPITAL CADILLAC THAT THE PART IS ON BACK ORDER AND THAT HE DIDN'T KNOW WHEN IT WOULD COME IN.
CUE SYSTEM AND SCREEN BROKEN FOR SECOND TIME. SAFETY ISSUE EVERY TIME I DRIVE. UNABLE TO USE PHONE OR NAVIGATION.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CADILLAC ATS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A LOSS OF POWER STEERING WITHOUT WARNING. THE DEALER (CAMARGO CADILLAC, 9880 MONTGOMERY RD, CINCINNATI, OH 45242, 513-716-5963) INDICATED THAT A DIAGNOSTIC APPOINTMENT WOULD NEED TO BE SCHEDULED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V586000 (STEERING) ALTHOUGH THE FAILURES WERE SIMILAR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CADILLAC ATS. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING TO A PARKING LOT, THE GEAR SHIFT SWITCHED TO REVERSE; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE ROLLED FORWARD WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, BUT IT WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO DRIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT TO CALL NHTSA TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,777.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CADILLAC ATS. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, THE CONTACT SHIFTED INTO REVERSE AND HEARD GRINDING NOISES. ROUNTREE MOORE CHEVROLET (4316 WEST US HIGHWAY 90, LAKE CITY, FLORIDA 32055, (386) 269-9222) WAS CONTACTED, BUT COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE DEALER APPLIED A SEAL ON THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL DUE TO AXLE SEAL LEAKS ON BOTH SIDES, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO THE DEALER FOR FURTHER EVALUATION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 41,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CADILLAC ATS. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING, THE CONTACT'S MOTHER OPENED THE DRIVER'S DOOR AND THE VEHICLE CAME OUT OF GEAR AND ROLLED BACKWARDS. THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE TIRE RAN OVER HER FEET. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS REQUIRED. THE CONTACT'S MOTHER SUSTAINED FRACTURES OF THE LEFT FOOT AND CONTUSIONS OF THE RIGHT HIP, AND UPPER LEFT ARM. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXHIBITED THE SAME SYMPTOMS AS LISTED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V338000 (POWER TRAIN). THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AUTONATION CADILLAC WEST PALM BEACH (2101 45TH ST, WEST PALM BEACH, FL 33407, 561-291-6025) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ACTUATOR ROD WAS FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 49,038. **TR CONSUMER STATEED THE ABOVE STATEMENT IS CORRECT EXCEPT THERE WERE NO FRACTURES OF THE HIP. UPDATED 11/1/18*JB
AFRAID TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE. I TOOK THE VEHICLE IN UNDER WARRANTY BECAUSE THE CAR LOST POWER ON THE OFF RAMP FROM THE HIGHWAY. THE AIR CONDITIONING SHUT OFF, AND I THEN NOTICED NOTHING ON THE CAR WAS WORKING, BRAKES, STEERING, ENGINE!! THE DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE. THIS PAST FRIDAY IT HAPPENED AGAIN AT RUSH HOUR AND MY WIFE ALMOST GOT INTO A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. I AM NOW OUT OF WARRANTY AND HAVE A CAR I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE. I HAVE FOUND SOME OTHER POSTS OF THIS ISSUE, BUT NO RESOLUTION. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL FOR SAFETY AND IF THEY CANNOT FIX, THE CAR SHOULD BE REPLACED.
THE CAR HAS A CRACKED CUE SCREEN FROM THE INSIDE WHICH OPERATES ALL THE FUNCTIONS FOR DEFROSTING, AIR-CONDITIONING, AND HEATING. THE ONLY WAY TO USE ANY OF THE AIR/HEAT IS TO HAVE THE AUTO BUTTON. THE OPTIONS ON THE STEERING WHEEL DO NOT WORK AT ALL. THIS HAS NOW BECOME A VERY VERY SEVERE SAFETY ISSUE WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND YOU NEED TO HAVE THE FRONT WINDSHIELD CLEAR. I ALSO SUBSCRIBE TO SIRIUSXM RADIO AND YOU CANNOT USE THE RADIO AT ALL FROM THE CUE SYSTEM OR THE STEERING WHEEL TO CHANGE THE CHANNELS OR VOLUME. THE CRUISE CONTROL IS NOT OPERABLE AT ALL BECAUSE IT IS SET UP ON THE STEERING WHEEL . CADILAC SHOULD ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE ENTIRE CUE SYSTEM SINCE YOU CAN ONLY USE HALF OF THE FUNCTIONS IN THE VEHICLE.
WINDSHIELD IS DELAMINATING, CAR HAS 43,000MI AND THE WINDSHIELD IS IN GOOD SHAPE OTHERWISE.
WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH ON AN INTERSTATE; DROVE INTO ROUGH MEDIAN GOING AT A DOWNHILL ANGLE. HIT TWO CULVERTS (MADE OF STEEL AND CONCRETE), ONE OF WHICH SENT THE CAR AIRBORNE. THE CAR LANDED INTO ONCOMING INTERSTATE TRAFFIC AND DID A 180 TURN BEFORE COMING TO A REST. THE STRUT CAME UP THROUGH THE HOOD OF THE CAR, AND THE FRONT END OF THE CAR WAS TORN UP VERY BADLY, AS WAS THE REAR BUMPER. THE FRONT TWO TIRES WERE POINTING IN DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS. THE CAR WAS LATER DECLARED A TOTAL LOSS. THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, NOR DID THE ONSTAR SERVICE RESPOND (PAID MONTHLY FEES FOR OVER 4 YEARS).
THE CADILLAC ATS HAS A PERVASIVE ISSUE WHEREBY THE WINDSHIELD IS DE-LAMINATING. IN EXTREME CASES THE "BUBBLES" EXTEND DOWNWARD AND INTERFERE WITH VISIBILITY. ALMOST ALL ATS VEHICLES IN HOT CLIMATES HAVE THIS DEFECT, MINE INCLUDED.
THE CAR IS UNDER FULL FACTORY WARRANTY. IT HAS BEEN TO THE CADILLAC DEALER 6 TIMES FOR THE SAME ISSUE. THE CADILLAC ATS HAS ADAPTIVE FORWARD LIGHTING AND THE HEADLIGHTS RANDOMLY WILL NOT PROPERLY ALIGN WHICH CAUSES POOR VISIBILITY, OFTEN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE MISALIGNMENT DOES NOT ALWAYS OCCUR DURING FIRST START UP, AND CAN OCCUR DURING HIGHWAY TRAVEL. THE HEADLIGHT FAILURES CONSIST OF EITHER HEADLIGHT POINTING UP AND SOMETIMES BOTH HEADLIGHTS POINT UPWARD SO MUCH THAT THE HIGHWAY IS DIFFICULT TO SEE. I HAVE BEEN FORCED TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROADWAY AND SHUT THE CAR DOWN, OPEN THE DOOR AND THEN RESTART THE VEHICLE. I HAVE ALSO ENCOUNTERED BOTH HEADLIGHTS POINTING DOWNWARD, CAUSING VERY POOR HIGHWAY VISIBILITY. THE ADAPTIVE FORWARD LIGHTING SYSTEM HAS FAILED ON MANY CADILLAC VEHICLES AS A SEARCH ON ANY CADILLAC FORUM WILL ATTEST. THE DEALERSHIP HAS REFLASHED THE HEADLIGHT CONTROLLER, REPLACED THE HEADLIGHT CONTROLLER AND REPLACED ONE HEADLIGHT. THESE ACTIONS AND REPAIR ORDERS PROVE THAT THE DEALERSHIP HAS VERIFIED THE ISSUES WITH THE HEADLIGHT SYSTEM, BUT THE ADAPTIVE FORWARD HEADLIGHT SYSTEM HAS CONTINUED TO FAIL. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN DELIVERED TO THE CADILLAC DEALERSHIP 6 TIMES FOR THE SAME ISSUE. I HAVE DOCUMENTED MOST OF THE HEADLIGHT SYSTEM FAILURES, WHEN POSSIBLE AND SAFE TO DO SO, WITH PICTURES AND VIDEOS. THAT INFORMATION HAS BEEN OFFERED TO THE DEALERSHIP, HOWEVER THEY WILL NOT ACCEPT THE DATED PICTURES OR VIDEOS AS PROOF OF AN ISSUE. THOUGH THE VEHICLE MAY SIT AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR UP TO 5 DAYS, IF THEY CANNOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE (DURING DAYLIGHT ?), THE RESULT IS NO ACTION TAKEN TO CORRECT THE HEADLIGHT ISSUE. MISALIGNMENT OF THE VEHICLES HEADLIGHTS SHOULD BE CONSIDERED A SAFETY RELATED FAILURE.
0N MORE THAN FIVE OCCASIONS THE VEHICLE HAS ACCELERATED WHEN COMING TO A STOP. I'VE HAD TO HIT THE BRAKES AND SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL TO GET THE RPM'S BACK TO NORMAL.THE LAST 2 TIMES MY WIFE HAS BEEN WITH ME IN THE CAR ,SHE NOW REFUSES TO RIDE IN THE CAR. I'VE HAD THE CAR IN FOR REPAIRS THREE TIME SPECIFICALLY FOR THAT PROBLEM. THE CAR WILL RUN FINE FOR A SHORT TIME THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE SAME OLD PROBLEM OF ACCELERATING WHEN SLOWING DOWN OR COMING TO A STOP. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THIS VEHICLE AND WOULD LIKE THE LEASE TERMINATED A.S.A.P.
IT WAS 5:30 PM ON 7-29-16, MY WIFE AND I WENT TO CHECK ON THE HOUSE WHILE OUR DAUGHTER & SON-IN-LAW WERE AWAY. AS ALWAYS, I HAD SLOWED THE CAR TO A CRAWL IN ORDER TO PARK BEHIND MY SON-IN-LAW'S CAR PARKED ON THE STREET IN FRONT OF THEIR HOUSE. I GOT THE FRONT RIGHT WHEEL ALMOST ON TOP OF THE CURB AND LET IT ROLL DOWN. WHEN THE WHEEL TOUCHED THE STREET THIS TIME, WE HEARD A LOUD SOUND (LIKE GEARS SHIFTING) AND THE CAR SUDDENLY REVVED UP AND SURGED FORWARD. I SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES BUT COULD NOT AVOID HITTING THE FRONT CAR'S REAR FENDER. THE CAR BOUNCED BACKWARD BUT IT SURGED FORWARD AGAIN; IT WAS ALL I COULD DO TO STEER AND AVOID HITTING CARS PARKED ON BOTH SIDES OF THE STREET. THAT NIGHT, WE EMAILED CADILLAC DETAILING WHAT HAD HAPPENED AND ASKED CADILLAC TO LOOK INTO THE CAR'S "DATA BANK." WE DID THIS BECAUSE A CAR EXPERT HAD TOLD US THAT EVERY ACTION OF THE DRIVER AND THE CAR WOULD BE INDELIBLY RECORDED IN THE 'DATA BANK.' WE WANTED CADILLAC TO EXAMINE THE 'DATA BANK' TO FIND OUT IF SUDDEN UNINTENDED ACCELERATION (SUA) HAD TAKEN PLACE. PER THEIR INSTRUCTION, WE LEFT THE CAR AT A CADILLAC DEALER AND WAITED AND WAITED. FINALLY, ON 9/12/2016, 38 DAYS WE WERE COMPLETELY DEVASTATED TO RECEIVE A CALL FROM GM SAYING THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH OUR CAR. DEVASTATED BECAUSE WE HAD NO DOUBT WHATSOEVER THAT SUA HAD OCCURRED AND YET WERE TOLD THAT THERE WAS NO PROBLEMS. FURTHER GM DENIED OUR REQUEST FOR A COPY OF THE REPORT, WHICH IS PUZZLING. AFTER ALL, GM HAS NOTHING TO HIDE SINCE THEY CLAIMED THAT NO DEFECT WAS FOUND IN THE CAR. WITHOUT THE REPORT, WE HAVE NO WAY OF KNOWING WHETHER ANYTHING WAS RECORDED IN THE DATA BANK TO EXPLAIN THE SUDDEN SURGE. CLEARLY, IN THIS UNEQUAL ENCOUNTER, THE GIANT CORPORATION HOLDS ALL THE CARDS AND THE CONSUMER NONE. I SUPPOSE THAT THE UNSPOKEN MESSAGE IS THAT MY WIFE AND I SHOULD BE GRATEFUL THAT WE WERE NOT CRIPPLED, OR KILLED EVEN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CADILLAC ATS. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE TRUNK OPENED ON ITS OWN. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED. THE DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,748.
PARKING BRAKE WILL FAIL TO DISENGAGE FULLY (WHEN DISENGAGING THE PARKING BRAKE) OR PARTIALLY ENGAGE ON ITS OWN WHILE DRIVING. THE RESULT IS THAT THE CAR EXPERIENCES INCREASING DRAGGING, POOR ACCELERATION, AND SUDDEN STOPPING. THE CONSOLE BRAKE LIGHT FAILS TO ILLUMINATE IN ALL INSTANCES AND FAILS TO INFORM THE DRIVER THAT THE PARKING BRAKE HAS ENGAGED. WHEN RELEASING THE PARKING BRAKE FROM A PARKED STATE, THE PARKING BRAKE PEDAL RAISES AND INDICATES TO THE DRIVER THAT THAT IT FULLY BEEN HAS DISENGAGED. THE PARKING BRAKE LIGHT ALSO TURNS OFF. HOWEVER, WHEN THE PARKING BRAKE IS ENGAGED AFTER DRIVING THE CAR, THE DRIVER DISCOVERS THAT THERE IS NO RESISTANCE/PUSHBACK ON PARKING BRAKE AND THAT IT FAILED TO RELEASE IN THE FIRST INSTANCE. AGAIN, IN THESE INSTANCES THE BRAKE WARNING LIGHT IS NOT ILLUMINATED. THIS ISSUE HAS OCCURRED IN SEVERAL INSTANCES IN NORTHING CALIFORNIA UNDER DRY AND FAIR WEATHER.
THE CAR FAILS TO AUDIBLY INDICATE TO THE DRIVER THAT THE TURNING SIGNALS HAVE BEEN ENGAGED. INSTEAD OF A CLICK, CHIME, OR OTHER INDICATOR, THERE IS SILENCE. THE RESULT IS THAT THE DRIVER DOES NOT HAVE FEEDBACK FROM THE VEHICLE INDICATING / VERIFYING THAT THAT A TURN SIGNAL HAS BEEN ENGAGED. THE DRIVER MAY BECOME DISTRACTED AND MAY NOT KNOW WHEN/IF A TURN SIGNAL HAS BEEN TRIGGERED. THE TURN SIGNAL INDICATOR SEEMS TO BE CONNECTED TO THE RADIO SYSTEM. THUS, WHEN THE RADIO SYSTEM FAULTS (WHICH OFTEN OCCURS ON THIS MODEL), THESE TURN SIGNAL INDICATORS ALSO FAIL. THE FAILURE WILL OCCUR RANDOMLY WHEN STATIONARY AND DRIVING AT SURFACE AND HIGHWAY SPEEDS.
ON MAY/13/2014, AT 10 AM I HAD TO TRAVEL LESS THAN 2 MILES FROM MY OWN HOUSE TO MY PODIATRIC DOCTOR, THE CAR WAS STATIONARY TILL THE END OF MY APPOINTMENT ABOUT 30 MINUTES. UPON GOING BACK TO MY HOUSE I NOTICE SOME LIKE SCRATCHES ON THE DASHBOARD SCREEN THAT HOUSE ALL CONTROLS, SUCH TO PLATY A RADIO STATION ETC. INTERMITTENT ELECTRIC POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILURES. FAILURES SEEM TO OCCUR MOST OFTEN WHEN THE CAR IS COLD AND BACKING OUT OF DRIVE WAY OR PARKING SPACES. POWER STEERING WILL WORK FOR A VERY SHORT PERIOD THEN FAIL LEAVING TYPICALLY WHEN IN THE MIDDLE OF A BACKING MANEUVER WHEN LEAVING MY DRIVE AND ENTERING TRAFFIC. TURNING CAR OFF AND RESTARTING WILL RESET THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING ASSIST. THIS IS PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS IN CROWDED PARKING AREAS WHEN I NEED TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND RESTART WHILE BLOCKING TRAFFIC. THE FREQUENCY SEEMS TO BE INCREASING FOR THE FAILURES BUT DEALER DOES NOT SEEM TO BE ABLE TO REPRODUCE.
STATED RECALL WAS TO "REPAIR" THE AUTOMATIC SHUT OFF OF THE REAR WINDOW DEFOGGER/DEFROSTER. IT WAS SUPPOSEDLY RESOLVED BY DEACTIVATING THE SHUT OFF MECHANISM. SUPPOSEDLY, IF THE AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF DID NOT ACTIVATE, THE CONTACTS COULD FAIL AND THERE COULD BE A FIRE. MY CONCERN IS WHAT HAPPENS NOW IF I FORGET TO SHUT OFF THE DEFROSTER/DEFOGGER. IN THE MANUAL IT SAYS THE SYSTEM WAS TIMED FOR A SET TIME, THEN WOULD SHUT OFF. THEN THE AUTOMATIC CONTROL SUPPOSEDLY WOULD TURN THE DEFROSTER/DEFOGGER BACK ON BUT FOR A SHORTER INTERVAL. TO ME THAT MEANS, THE TIME FACTOR IS IMPORTANT AND PROBABLY WAS THERE TO PREVENT A FIRE. MY CONTACT WITH GM'S SERVICE CENTER HAD A NUMBER OF REQUESTS IN PRIORITY ORDER. THOSE FURTHER DOWN MY LIST WERE WILD IDEAS TO PUT MY MIND TOTALLY AT REST ABOUT DRIVING SUCH A CAR. NONE OF MY REQUESTS WERE GRANTED. BELOW ARE IN PRIORITY ORDER WHAT I REQUESTED. !. MY 2014 CADILLAC ATS WAS RECALLED DUE TO FAULTY AUTO REAR WINDOW DEFOGGER. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO LOCAL CADILLAC DEALER AND THEY DISCONNECTED THE AUTO DEFOGGER. THEY SAID THAT THIS WAS THE FIX ORDERED BY GM. I CAN NOW OPERATE MY REAR DEFOGGER MANUALLY ONLY. MY AUTO OPTION NO LONGER WORKS. I CALLED GM TO SEE IF THEY WOULD REIMBURSE ME FOR TAKING AWAY MY USE OF THIS FEATURE IN MY CAR. THEY SAID THEY WOULD NOT. GM STATED THAT THIS WAS A PERMANENT FIX FOR THIS FAULTY FEATURE WAS TO DISCONNECT IT. SO IF YOU CAN LOOK INTO THIS MATTER IF WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. UPPER AND LOWER CONTROL ARM BUSHINGS STEERING KNUCKLE DEFECTIVE FROM FACTORY AND BLOWN PISTON NUMBER 1 AT 6350 MILES AND MANY RECALLS.

ON THE SAME DAY I HAD THE TIRE REPLACED FOR $293.61. WITHIN THE NEXT WEEK I DISCOVERED THAT ALL OF THE OTHER THREE TIRES BEGAN SHOWING PROTRUDING SIDEWALLS. NOTE THAT THE ELECTRONIC INFLATION HISTORY SHOWS NO SIGNIFICANT DEVIATION FROM NORMAL PRESSURES. THERE WERE NO CRASHES INVOLVING THE VEHICLE. ALL 4 TIRES WERE THE ORIGINALS FROM THE GM FACTORY. NEITHER CADILLAC, WHERE THE FIRST TIRE WAS REPLACED, NOR MICHELIN, THE MANUFACTURER, OFFER ANY WARRANTY OR CREDIT TOWARD REPLACEMENT OF ANY OF THE FOUR TIRES. THESE TIRES APPEAR TO BE DEFECTIVE WITH THE POTENTIAL SAFETY ISSUE FOR SUDDEN BLOWOUT. THERE DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE ANY EXTERNAL CAUSE FOR THIS DEFECT TO OCCUR AT ONLY 10,000 MILES. THIS MALFUNCTIONS INFREQUENTLY CAUSING THE HEADLIGHTS TO BE AIMED TOO HIGH AND BLIND ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THE CAR NEED TO BE COMPLETE SHUTOFF THEN RESTARTED TO TRIGGER THE RECALIBRATION PROCESS TO FIX THIS INTERMITTENT ISSUE. *JS

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CADILLAC ATS. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V558000 (VISIBILITY) HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
I HAVE 2014 ATS CADILLAC 4.0 T ( WITH RUN FLAT TIRES)..WHEN IT RAINS WHILE I'M DRIVING AT SPEED OVER 35 MPH OR HIGHER MY VEHICLE WILL HYDROPLANE BUT WILL JUMP RIGHT BACK BECAUSE OF THE STABILITRAK STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM. THIS WAS THE MOST TERRIFYING THING TO EXPERIENCE. I HAD TO PULL OVER AND GET MYSELF TOGETHER. I CALLED MY HUSBAND TO INFORM HIM OF THE ISSUE, WHICH HE LATER EXPERIENCED THE SAME FREIGHTING ORDEAL. NO MATTER WHAT DRIVING MODE THE CAR PERFORMS WORSE IN THE RAIN. I LIKE IN MICHIGAN AND IF MY CAR ACTS LIKE IN THE RAIN I'M TERRIFIED AND WILL NOT DRIVE MY CAR IN THE SNOW TOO. THE "CHECK ENGINE" INDICATOR CAME ON, SOON THEREAFTER, "STABILITRAK" AND "ENGINE POWER IS REDUCED" INDICATORS CAME ON. TEN MINUTES LATER, THE CAR SHUT DOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY. AFTER 10-15 MINUTES, THE CAR STARTED UP AGAIN WITH THE "CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT STILL ON. CAR WAS REPAIRED AT A CADILLAC DEALERSHIP. SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE ADVISED THAT IT WAS NECESSARY TO SOLDER SOME WIRES/TERMINALS BEHIND THE RIGHT REAR WHEEL WELL FENDER LINER. A SERVICE BULLETIN (PIE0291B) IDENTIFIED THIS PROBLEM. THIS SAME EXACT PROBLEM AROSE IN MID-FEBRUARY. THE REMEDY AT THAT TIME WAS TO REPLACE THE THROTTLE BODY. HOPEFULLY, THIS NEW REMEDY WILL WORK NOW THAT THERE IS A SERVICE BULLETIN TO ASSIST WITH THE DIAGNOSIS. *TT
THERE HAS BEEN 2 OCCASIONS MY BRAND NEW CAR HAS STALLED AND LOST POWER. BOTH TIMES THE CAR HAS SAT FOR OVER AN HOUR. WHEN I GET INTO VEHICLE IT STARTS UP AND I TAKE OFF. WITHIN A MINUTE THE VEHICLE IS STALLING AND FAILS TO ACCELERATE. EACH TIME I HAVE TAKEN IT INTO CADILLAC AND THEY CAN'T FIND A PROBLEM BECAUSE IT DID NOT REGISTER IN THE COMPUTER SYSTEM NOR DOES A TEST DRIVE DISCOVER PROBLEM. THE REAL CONCERN IS IF I'M CROSSING AN INTERSECTION AND THE VEHICLE STALLS AND I'M IN AN ACCIDENT. I DON'T WANT TO BE A STATISTIC WAITING FOR GM TO FIND THIS PROBLEM. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CADILLAC ATS. WHILE IDLING, THE VEHICLE'S BACK-UP CAMERA FLICKERED ON AND OFF AND THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE SEAT FRACTURED. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED OR DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,662.
I BOUGHT THIS CAR NEW ON 1/16/14. ON 2/19/14 THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE ENGINE LOST POWER. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY REPLACED A SENSOR ASSEMBLY. ON 3/18/14 THE SAME THING HAPPENED AND THE CAR LOST POWER. THE MILEAGE WAS ABOUT 1,500.. NOW I AM BEING TOLD THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM THAT THE ENGINEERS AT GM ARE LOOKING INTO BUT NO FIX IS IN SIGHT.. THE FIRST TWO TIMES I LOST POWER I WAS IN TOWN BUT IF THIS HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY IT COULD BE A REAL PROBLEM. I FEEL GM HAS A MAJOR PROBLEM AND THEY DO NOT WANT TO BE HONEST. I AM BEING TOLD NOTHING OTHER THEN THEY ARE WORKING ON THE PROBLEM. *TR
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR AT ABOUT 15 TO 20 MILES AN HOUR THE CAR CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. THERE WAS A TOTAL SHUT DOWN OF THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. THE EMERGENCY BLINKERS COULD NOT BE ENGAGED, THE CAR COULD NOT BE SHIFTED. THE CAR WAS TOWED INTO THE SHOP, THE DEALER ADVISED ME THE ENGINE FAILED AND A NEW ENGINE WAS PUT INTO THE CAR BY THE DEALER. WE HAVE OWNED THE CAR FOR TWO MONTHS. *TR
VEHICLE WANDERS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, VERY HARD TO KEEP ON ROAD. VERY UNSAFE TO DRIVE ON HIGHWAY, THEREFORE IT IS ONLY USED IN CITY AT LOW SPEEDS. AFTER 11 MONTHS IT HAS LESS THAN 3,000 KM ON IT. DEALER SAYS THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT, IT IS BECAUSE OF THE ELECTRIC STEERING. ACCORDING TO THEM, ALL THESE MODELS BEHAVE IN THE SAME WAY AND FOR ME TO MONITOR IT. I HAVE MONITORED IT AND IF ANYTHING IT IS GETTING WORSE. IF I DON'T GET ANY HELP FROM THE DEALER I WILL HAVE TO TAKE IT TO A WHEEL ALIGNMENT SPECIALIST, AT MY COST, EVEN IF IT STILL UNDER WARRANTY.
