2002 CADALLIC CTC HAS NOT TRUCK KEY LOCK. ADVERSE CONDITIONS OCCUR WHEN THE BATTERY FAILS AS ALL, AND I MEAN ALL SYSTEMS SHUT DOWN. ONE CANNOT GET INTO THE TRUNK,USE THE PHONE, OR EVEN GET THE KEYS OUT OF THE IGNITION. BUT, NOT HAVING A KEY LOCK FOR THE TRUCK IS DANGEROUS AND UNSAFE.*AK
WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONSUMER MANAGED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. *AK THERE WAS A LOUD NOISE INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE, ROUGH JERKS AT SHIFTS, VIBRATION AT MID TO HIGH SPEEDS, LOUD NOISE FROM BACK TIRES WHEN RIDING OVER BUMPS, BURNING SMELL FROM UNDER THE HOOD ALONG WITH SMOKING, WATER IN THE TAIL LIGHT, BLACK EXHAUST DUST/DIRT IN THE TAIL PIPE, THE ENGINE WOULD SHAKE. THE JERKING WAS AS IF THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED WHILE IN DRIVE. *SC *JB
TIRES NEEDED REPLACEMENT AT 30,000 MILES DUE TO WEAR AND POOR CONDITION. THE TIRES CAME WITH THE NEW VEHICLE. I HAD PREVIOUS;LY REQUESTED THE DEALER AT ABOUT 24,000 MILES TO CHECK THE TIRES BECAUSE OF STEERING VIBRATION AND ABERRENT SOUNDS FROM THE WHEELS.*AK
CAR WAS PUT IN REVERSE TO BACK OUT OF PARKING SPACE BUT WENT FORWARD INSTEAD, JUMPED CURB AND HIT LIGHT POLE.*AK
PREMATURE WEAR OUT OF FRONT BRAKE PADS AND ROTOR (95%) WEAR AT 22,000 MILES WITH LIGHT USAGE. (NO HILLS, FLAT TERRAIN,) *LA
WHEN THE HEADLIGHTS WERE ON LOW BEAM THEY PRODUCED A DARK SPOT. AS A RESULT, VISION IS IMPAIRED. *AK *SC
LOUD HIGH PITCH HOWLING NOISE HEARD FROM INSIDE AT APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH AND OVER. THE FIRST TRIP TO THE DEALER I WAS TOLD IT WAS A WIND NOISE. THE SECOND TIME AT THE DEALER'S I WAS TOLD IT IS A NORMAL CHARACTERISTIC OF THE 2003 CTS. *AK
THE CHECK AIR BAG WARNING KEEPS COMING ON. WHEN BROUGHT TO DEALER TO FIX THEY SAID IT WAS NOT UNDER RECALL AND IT NEEDS TO BE SINCE OTHERS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE.
WHEN RUNNING A/C THE DEFROSTERS LEAK COLD AIR AND CONDENSATION ACCMMULATES ON OUTSIDE OF WINDSHIELD. DEALER (HENNESEY CADILLAC, ATLANTA) STATES VEHICLE WAS DESIGNED THIS WAY. I DO NOT FEEL A VEHICLE IS DESIGNED SO THAT YOU HAVE TO RUN WINDSHIELD WIPERS WHEN IT IS NOT RAINING. IMPAIRS VISIBILITY.
SUN ROOF MALFUNCTIONES, BEGINS INTERMITTENTLY WITH EITHER SLOW OR NON-RESPONSE WHEN TURNING DIAL TO CLOSE; GRADUALLY WORSENS. SUNROOF HAS OPENED TO "VENT" POSITION ON ITS OWN WITHOUT TOUCHING CONTROLS. MODULE AND HOUSING REPLACED SEVERAL TIMES, PROBLEM CONTINUES TO RETURN. MODULE IS CURRENTLY BEING REPLACED FOR FOURTH TIME.*AK
MY CTS HAVE BEEN IN THE SHOP NUMEROUS TIME FOR SMOKE AND THE SMELL OF OIL BURNING COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT.AFTER YEARS OF TAKING MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND HAVING PARTS REPLACE THE PROBLEM STILL OCCUR. *TR
BRAKES FAILED. BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT. VEHICLE IS A 2004 CTS.
THE 2003 CTS IS EQUIPPED WITH STABILITY SYSTEM. SEEMS THAT THE STABILITY SYSTEM CAN FAIL WHEREAS IT ENGAGES AT HIGH SPEED AND MOMENTARLY APPLIES BRAKING TO ONE WHEEL. DEALER (MCGINNIS CADILLAC) STATED IT WASN'T POSSIBLE, BIT DISCOVERED DURING ATEST DRIVE THAT IT WAS INDEED. AFTER A WEEK OF TRIAL AND ERROR THEY DISCOVERED A BAD SENSOR IN THE WHEEL. IMAGINE TRAVELING AT 70MPH AND HAVING ONE WHEEL MOMENTARLY LOCK UP DUE TO AN ONBOARD SYSTEM. HAS THE POTENTIAL OF DRAGGING THE CAR OUT OF IT'S LANE, PERHAPS EVEN UNDER A LARGE FREIGHT TRUCK. PERHAPS FLIPPING THE CAR AS WELL.*AK
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT ABOUT 40 MPH, THE DRIVERS SIDE FRONT TIRE BLEW OUT. UPON INSPECTION OF THE TIRE, THERE WAS NO HOLE OR DAMAGE TO THE TREAD AREA BUT THERE WAS A HOLE IN THE OUTER SIDE WALL. IT DID NOT APPEAR THAT THE SIDE WALL HIT ANYTHING. THE CONSUMER DID NOT REMEMBER HITTING ANYTHING. THE CONSUMER DID NOT LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE REMAINED STABLE. THE ONLY INDICATION THE TIRE BLEW OUT WAS A VIBRATION. *AK *CB *JB
AFTER HEAVY RAIN AND IF UNDERCARRIAGE GETS WET "OIL PRESSURE LOW" WARNING ALERT. REQUESTING DRIVER TO STOP ENGINE. DEALER CAN NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. *NLM
MY VEHICLE DEVELOPED A HUMMING NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL AT 30,000 MILES. THE DEALERSHIP FOUND THAT MY REAR DIFFERENTIAL WAS FULL OF METAL AND STATED THAT THE WHOLE DIFFERENTIAL MUST BE REPLACED SINCE THE METAL CHURNING THROUGH THE GEARS RUINS THE WHOLE UNIT. 7,000 MILES LATER THE NOISE RETURNED. THE DEALER AGAIN FOUND METAL IN THE DIFFERENTIAL, BUT THIS TIME CADILLAC TOLD THEM TO SIMPLY PUT SOME SPECIAL LUBRICANT IN IT! ALL THIS, AFTER THEY TOLD ME LAST TIME THAT THIS TYPE OF PROBLEM REQUIRES REPLACEMENT, AND NOTHING LESS. I WAS TOLD TO DRIVE MY CAR FOR A FEW WEEKS AND SHOCKINGLY ENOUGH, THE MAGIC LUBE DID NOTHING FOR THE PROBLEM. AFTER READING SEVERAL REPORTS FROM PEOPLE WHO HAD THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL OF THIS CAR SIEZE UP(EVEN CAUSING ACCIDENTS), I APPROACHED THE DEALERSHIP FOR A LOANER. I WAS DENIED A LOANER, AND THE MANAGER HAD THE NERVE TO TELL ME THE NOISE WAS NORMAL. WHY ON EARTH THEY FIXED A "NORMAL" CAR THE FIRST TIME IS BEYOND ME. WHEN I ASKED THEM TO SHOW ME ANOTHER CAR ON THE LOT THAT MAKES THE SAME NOISE, THEY BACKED DOWN. PLEASE HELP WITH THIS ISSUE. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE MY CAR! *JB

THE POWER STEERING FAILED, WHICH MADE THE VEHICLE DIFFICULT TO CONTROL. *JB
LOW COOLANT MESSAGE THREE TIMES IN MY CADILLAC CTS DIC. DEALER FOUND NOTHING WRONG, BUT ADDED ANTIFREEZE EVERY TIME. ANTIFREEZE UNDER THE CAR TOOK TO DEALER, ANTIFREEZE LEAKING FROM OIL COOLER PLATE. CAR WOULD NOT START EVEN AFTER A JUMP. NEEDED NEW IGNITION RELAY AND BATTERY. *NLM
MY CADILLAC CTS (2003) WAS HIT DIRECTLY IN THE DRIVERS DOOR AT APPROXIMATELY 50-55 MPH AND THE SIDE IMPACT OR CURTAIN AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS PUSHED SO HARD, THE WITNESS THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO FLIP OVER. CADILLAC INDICATED THAT THERE WAS NO PROBLEM, AND THE AIR BAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY BECAUSE THE SENSOR DID NOT RECEIVE A DIRECT HIT. THE SENSOR IS LOCATED ON THE DOOR FRAME BETWEEN THE DRIVER AND REAR LEFT PASSENGER DOOR. I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE THAT THE DOOR WAS TOTALLY SMASHED IN TO THE DRIVERS SEAT, THE VEHICLE FRAME DAMAGED, THE WINDOW BLEW OUT AND AIR BAGS DIDN'T GO OFF, BECAUSE THE SENSOR WAS NOT HIT.*AK
THE VEHICLES STEERING SHAFT BOLT FAILED. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED. *NLM
THE DEALERSHIP TOLD THE CONSUMER THEY DID NOT KNOW ABOUT A RECALL REGARDING THE STEERING SHAFT BOLT 03 V 115 000. THE MANUFACTURER STATED ALL THE DEALERSHIPS WERE NOTIFIED 3 WEEKS PRIOR TO CONSUMERS BEING NOTIFIED. *JB
PULLING TO A PARKING PLACE, SLOWLY, FOOT ON BRAKE, HALF WAY INTO THE PARKING SPACE WHEN THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED RESULTING IN THE VEHICLE HITTING A CEMENT POLE. NO INJURIES. EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO THE LEFT FRONT. HAD TO EXIT THE PASSENGER SIDE CAR. *NLM
I WISH TO COMPLAIN ABOUT A TV AD THAT CADILLAC IS CURRENTLY RUNNING FOR THEIR CTS MODEL, IT DEPICTS THE CAR DRIVING BLINDLY AT HIGH SPEED THROUGH THICK FOG. I BELIEVE THE AD IS CRIMINALLY IRRESPONSIBLE, GIVEN THE HIGH COST IN LIVES, INJURIES AND PROPERTY DAMAGE THAT OCCURS EVERY YEAR WHEN VEHICLES DRIVEN AT HIGH SPEED IN FOG COLLIDE WITH OTHER VEHICLES. I HAVE REQUESTED CADILLAC TO IMMEDATELY WITHDRAW THIS AD AND IN THE FUTURE MAKE SOME MINIMAL EFFORT TO APPEAL TO RESPONSIBLE DRIVING BEHAVIOR. WHAT ACTION CAN I EXPECT YOUR AGENCY TO TAKE? JOSEPH A. THE DIFFERENTIAL IN MY 03 CADILLAC CTS DEVELOPED A SERIOUS LEAK. THE DEFECT REQUIRED (3) TRIPS TO THE DEALER TO REPAIR. THE LAST REPAIR, (APPEARS TO BE THE RIGHT ONE) WAS THE REPLACEMENT OF THE DIFFERENTIAL. THIS TYPE OF DEFECT CAN LEAD TO LOSS OF DIFFERENTIAL FLUID RESULTING IN FAILURE OF THE UNIT AND POSSIBLE ACCIDENT. I HAVE FOUND THIS LEAK ON SEVERAL OTHER "03" CTS.*JB
WHILE DRIVING, THE STEERING FAILED, WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO RUN OFF THE ROAD. *JB
I AM AND HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING NUMEROUS FAILURES WITH MY VEHICLE. I HAVE CONTACTED GM NUMEROUS TIMES BEGINNING APPROXIMATELY A FEW MONTHS AFTER I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE TO INFORM THEM THAT THE VEHICLE IS DEFECTIVE, ONLY TO BE TOLD MY VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY, SO THEY REFUSE TO FIX IT OR GIVE MY ONE THAT IS NOT DEFECTIVE. MY VEHICLE IS STILL DEFECTIVE TO THIS DATE. *TR
DARK BAR OBSTRUCTING NIGHT LUMINATION. HAVE HAD THE LIGHTS ADJUSTED THREE TIMES. CADILLAC WILL NOT CORRECT. UNABLE TO DRIVE CAR SAFELY AT NIGHT. LIGHT SHINES AS FAR AS THE TOP OF TREES AND UNDERPASSES. ON COMING DRIVERS FLASH THEIR LIGHTS AS IF I HAVE MY HIGH BEAMS ON. *AK
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CADILLAC CTS. THE CONTACT STATED WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS NOT STARTED FOR A FEW DAYS IT WOULD ONLY START WITH A JUMP START. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AT LEAST THREE TIMES WHO STATED THE BATTERY CAUSED THE FAILURE TO OCCUR. A BRAND NEW BATTERY WAS INSTALLED BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE TRUNK WAS TOO HEAVY TO STAY IN THE UP POSITION EACH TIME SHE OPENED IT. THE TRUNK HAD FALLEN ONTO HER HEAD BUT THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,100.
CONSUMER STATES THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN THE SAMS CLUB PARKING LOT. CONSUMER STATES THAT THE EMERGENCY PARKING BRAKE WAS ON. THE VEHICLE ROLLED BACKWARDS INTO ANOTHER PARKED VEHICLE. DEALER NOTIFIED. TS
THE CONSUMER STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT, WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN HE PROCEEDED AND BEGAN TO SKID ON UNSEEN ICE AND HIT A UTILITY POLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED. THE CONSUMER STATED THAT NONE OF THE SAFETY FEATURES WORKED, AND THEY ARE AS FOLLOWED: AIR BAGS, ABS BRAKES, TRACTION CONTROL, AND THE ADDITIONAL WINTER DRIVING MODE FROM SKID. SCC
2003 CADILLAC CTS. CAR FUEL GAUGE WENT TO EMPTY RESULTING IN CAR TO DIE. SPEEDOMETER AND TACTOMETER SPIKED THEN FUEL GAUGE WENT TO EMPTY. FUEL GAUGE WAS EITHER FULL OR HALF FULL EACH OF THE TIMES. THIS PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED 6 TIMES. TAKEN TO THREE DIFFERENT DEALERS WITH NONE BEING ABLE TO DIAGNOSE PROBLEM. FUEL PUMP WAS REPLACED, COMPUTER GAUGES RESET BUT WITH NO SOLUTION TO PROBLEM. SERIOUS ISSUE, AS 4 OF THE TIMES THE CAR DIED, THE CAR WAS ON FREEWAY. PROBLEM HAS OCCURED 3 TIMES SINCE STATED INCIDENT DATE

(CORRECTED COMPLAINT) HEADLIGHT LOW BEAM ON THE CADILLAC CTS 2003 HAS A BLACK BAR THAT REDUCES VISION TO ABOUT 75 FEET AND ON DARK COUNTRY ROADS, THIS SHORTENED VISION IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. THE HEADLIGHT SHOULD BE A RECALL BEFORE SERIOUS ACCIDENTS OCCUR AS A RESULT OF THIS CONDITION. WHAT WAS CADILLAC THINKING? CADILLAC DOESN'T SEEM TO THINK THERE IS A PROBLEM BUT OBVIOUSLY THEY DON'T EVER DRIVE THEIR PRODUCT ON DARK ROADS AT NIGHT. THIS HEADLIGHT PROBLEM NEEDS TO BE CORRECTED!! IT IS AWFUL! *AK

WINDSHIELD GETS FOGGED UP, MAKES VISIBILITY DIFFICULT WHEN DRIVING. DT
AIRBAG DEFECT ON GOING FOR 2 YEARS. I HAVE BEEN TAKING THIS CAR TO THE DEALER OVER AND OVER AND NO ONE CAN SEEM TO FIX THE PROBLEM. NOT TO MENTION THE OTHER DEFECTS I HAVE HAD TO GO TO THE DEALER FOR. *AK
NAVIGATION SYSTEM ON 2003 CADILLAC CTS NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. SOME MAJOR CITIES CAN NOT BE LOCATED, CAN'T SET SOME DESTINATIONS, MILEAGE FROM LOCATION TO DESTINATION IS INCORRECT PLUS OTHER PROBLEMS.
COMPONENT IN STEERING COLUMN FAILED....LEAVING A LOT OF PLAY IN STEERING WHEEL AT HIGH SPEEDS. CENSORS DID NOT PICK UP FAILURE. MECHANIC AT DEALER ACTUALLY HEARD IT MAKING A NOISE. DEALERSHIP DECLARED IT UNSAFE TO DRIVE. GM ANTICIPATES 2 TO 3 WEEKS TO GET PART OFF ASSEMBLY FLOOR.*AK
THE CAR STALLS AT 25 MPH TO 45 MPH, OVER 20 OCCURANCES, DEALER ATTEMPTED 3 REPAIRS. DT
DASHBOARD WENT OUT INTERMITTENTLY. CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER AND REPAIRS WERE MADE. HOWEVER, THE PROBLEM KEPT COMING BACK. ON ONE OCCASION THE CONSUMER HAD TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED FOR UNCONTROLLED ACCELERATION. *AK DASHBOARD PROBLEMS AND VEHICLE HAS DIED 3 TIMES. ENCLOSED HERE WITH THE CUSTOMER CLAIM FORM FOR DETAILS AND THE TOWED TRUCK REPORT AND SERVICE DOCUMENTS FROM CAR DEALER. *BF
THE ORIGINAL TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED AT 600 MILES DUE TO A RATTLING NOISE IN 2ND AND 5TH GEAR. AT 800 MILES THE NOISE REOCCURRED IN THE NEW TRANSMISSION. CADILLAC CLAIMS TO BE WORKING ON A FIX, HOWEVER NO ONE IN THE CADILLAC ORGANIZATION CAN COMMENT ON WHEN THE FIX WILL TAKE PLACE. THE NOISE CONTINUES TO GET WORSE AND CONTINUES TO GET LOUDER.*AK
TRANSMISSION 5TH GEAR KEEPS GOING OUT, ORIGIONAL AND NEW TRANS. HAVE BOTH GONE OUT, ALL WITHIN 200 MILES. GM WILL NOT FIX THE PROBLEM, BECAUSE THEY HAVE TOLD ME THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO FIX IT. THEY WANTED ME TO CONTINUE DRIVING IT, BUT I REFUSED AND AFTER COMPLAINING FOR A WEEK I WAS GIVEN A LOANER. THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW IF THERE IS A SAFTY ISSUE OR NOT.
VEHICLE WAS AT A COMPLETE STOP WITH FOOT ON BRAKES, AND IT ACCELERATED AT A HIGH SPEED.*AKCONSUMER HAD STOPPED WITH FOOT ON THE BRAKES. THE VEHICLE SPEEDED UP AND CONSUMER HAD TO CUT THE VEHICLE OFF TO STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG. THE VEHICLE IS ALSO EXPERIENCING ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. *JG
WHEN THE AIR CONDITIONER WAS USED THE WINDSHIELD BECAME FOGGED. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO DEALER 4-5 TIMES BUT THE DEALER COULD NOT REMEDY THE PROBLEM. *NLM
BATTERY WAS REPLACED SIX TIMES BY THE DEALER, AND PROBLEM STILL REOCCURRING. FEEL FREE TO PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK
