I HAVE ONLY HAD MY CTS FOR A MONTH BUT WHEN BRAKING ON ABOUT THREE DIFFERENT OCCASIONS THE BRAKE PEDAL WILL PUSH BACK AGAINST MY FOOT. THESE HAVE OCCURRED TWICE IN MY DRIVEWAY STOPPING TO BACK INTO MY GARAGE AND ONCE COMING TO A STOP LIGHT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CADILLAC CTS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE KEY WOULD NOT TURN OVER TO START THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE STALLED SEVERAL TIMES WITHOUT WARNING, INCLUDING WHILE DRIVING OVER A RAILROAD TRACK. THE CONTACT RECEIVED ASSISTANCE FROM A PASSERBY TO PUSH THE VEHICLE OVER THE RAILROAD TRACKS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A WIRE THAT FRACTURED. THE WIRE, IGNITION SWITCH RELEASE, AND ECM HARNESS WERE REPLACED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V394000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED NO SOLUTION. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 160,000. UPDATED 10/18/16*LJ *TR
THIS IS THE SECOND COMPLAINT RE MOTOR MOUNT ( REFERENCE NO. 10732081). 6/23/2015 REPLACED LEFT SIDE MOTOR MOUNT DUE TO CLUNKING ON ACCELERATION. ON 6/28/2016 I TOOK THE CAR TO THE REPAIR FACILITY FOR THE CLUNKING, NOT THINKING IT COULD POSSIBLY BE A MOTOR MOUNT PROBLEM AGAIN. I HAVE SPENT $1006.63 TO REPAIR A PROBLEM I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF. I HAVE SEEN THE TORN MOUNTS.
I WAS TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH ON A 3 LANE HIGHWAY, WHILE MAINITANING A CONSTANT SPEED. SUDDENLY ALL POWER TO THE VEHICLE CUT OFF INCLUDING MY POWER STEERING AND BRAKING. IN A PANIC AS I AS COASTING I WAS FORTUNE ENOUGH TO WEAVE MY WAY ACROSS 2 LANES TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY AND ROLL TO A COMPLETE START. AFTER GATHERING MYSELF I TURNED THE IGNITION FROM THE RUN POSITION TO OFF. I LOOKED UP AND NOTICED THERE WAS SMOKE COMING OUT FROM UNDER THE HOOD. I JUMPED OUT, LIFTED THE HOOD, AND HEARD POPPING AND STEAM/SMOKE RISING UP FROM UNDERNEATH THE ENGINE BY THE FIREWALL. I PULLED THE OIL DIPSTICK AND I WAS ABOUT A QUART LOW, AND IT LOOKED NORMAL. I WAITED ABOUT 30 MIN AND CHECKED THE LEVEL AGAIN WITH THE SAME RESULT. I THEN TRIED TO START THE VEHICLE AND THERE WAS NOT RESPONSE AT ALL. I WAS UNABLE TO ROLL UP MY WINDOWS, AND THERE WAS NO POWER TO DISPLAY ANY INFORMATION ON DASH. WHEN MY WIFE ARRIVED I HOOKED UP JUMPER CABLES AND AFTER A WHILE I WAS ABLE TO TURN THE KEY FORWARD TO SEE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. IT SAID MY BATTERY WAS AT THE CORRECT VOLTS, AND THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS ON MY DASH. WHEN I TURNED THE IGNITION TO START. MY DASH FLICKERED RAPIDLY AND THERE WAS A CLICKING NOISE BUT THE ENGINE MADE NO SOUND AS IF IT WAS TRYING TO TURN OVER. SO I CALLED TOW TRUCK AND GOT TOWED TO MY HOUSE. THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED BY ME IN 09 WITH 32K MILES. IT HAD AN ISSUE WHERE IT WAS EATING UP TO 4 QUARTS OF OIL EVERY 1K-3K MILES. I HAD PURCHASE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY SO BYE 50K MILES THEY TORE APART ENGINE REPLACING PRETTY MUCH THE ENTIRE ENGINE. THE CAR CURRENTLY HAS LESS THEN 20K MILES SINCE WARRANTY REBUILD AND I AM AT A LOSS. I PUT A NEW BATTERY IN IT AND THAT HAS DONE NOTHING TO HELP. STILL JUST MAKES A STRANGE CLICKING NOISE. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO DO NOW. IT IS A 2005 CTS 3.6L BASE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION

THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V225000 (SERVICES BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 136,000.
SECURITY THEFT SYSTEM ACTIVATED AND WON'T TURN OFF CAUSING THE GAS METER AC UNIT POWER STEERING TO NOT WORK. TOOK IT TO THE GM DEALER AND THEY COULD NOT FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 180,000.

THE DRIVER WAS ABLE TO COAST THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACTS RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE ENGINE WAS CONSUMING OIL PREMATURELY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
WHEN EVER I MAKE A SLIGHT TURN AT LOW SPEEDS,IE. 10 MPH OR LESS THE ABS ACTUATES AND THE CAR IS UNABLE TO STOP. THIS IS VERY PREVALENT WHEN PULLING INTO A PARKING SPOT. I HAVE HAD FIRESTONE AUTO, PARKER CADILAC, AND AMERICAN TIRE AND AUTO IN MY HOMETOWN LOOK AT THIS ISSUE AND ALL TOLD ME THAT THEY COULD NOT PULL CODES. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT IF ANY INDICATOR DASH WARNING LIGHT COME ON THEN IT WILL TRIP A CODE, BUT THIS ISSUE DOES NOT. THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH THIS CAR..

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. WHEN OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE AIR BAG SENSOR LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE OCCUPANT RESTRAINT SYSTEM WAS FAULTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
NHTSA 10043857 -- 2005 CTS ERROR CODE P0016 ENGINE TIMING CHAINS. CAR HAS THE SAME PROBLEM AND ENGINE THAT IS IN TECH BULLETIN SB-11340. 86,176 MILES ON ENGINE WHEN TESTED FOR THIS PROBLEM BY GM DEALERSHIP. I HAD CAR REPAIRED AT DEALERSHIP EARLIER THIS MONTH AND HAVE SUBMITTED RECEIPTS TO CADILLAC FOR REIMBURSEMENT. CURRENTLY I HAVE NOT HEARD BACK REGARDING THE STATUS ON THIS CLAIM. CADILLAC SERVICE REQUEST NUMBER IS 8-1628649320. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER. I UNDERSTAND THE AGE OF MY CAR IS OUTSIDE OF THE WARRANTY PERIOD BUT I FEEL THIS IS A DEFECT IN THE ENGINE DESIGN AND CAR REPAIR TOOK 3 DAYS AT THE GM REPAIR FACILITY. THIS IS NOT A MINOR REPAIR OR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE. DURING RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET I FOUND THE TECH BULLETIN AND YOUR REFERENCE NUMBERS REGARDING THIS DEFECT. FORTUNATELY FOR ME THIS CHAIN DID NOT FAIL DURING OPERATION.
THE IGNITION IS HAVING A BREAK DOWN.THE KEY KEEPS GETING STUCK IN THE IGNITION, WHEN THE KEY DOES FINALLY COME OUT OF THE IGNITION, AS I GO TO PUT THE KEY BACK INTO THE IGNITION TO START THE CAR THE KEY GETS STUCK AT ONE POSITION IN THE IGNITION AND WILL NOT RESPOND TO START THE CAR.
AFTER A ROUTINE OIL CHANGE AT BROGAN CADILLAC SERVICE IN TOTOWA, NJ, THE RECOMMENDED SERVICE (APPROX COST $1200) WAS THE REAR DIFF BUSHING WAS WORN AND THE REAR AXLE SEALS ARE LEAKING FLUID. AN INTERNET SEARCH UNCOVERED GM RECALL# 07204 FOR THIS MAKE AND MODEL THAT STATES "THE REAR AXLE PINION SEAL DOES NOT MEET ALL OF THE SPECIFICATIONS AND MAY EXPERIENCE A FLUID LEAK." WHEN I CALLED GM TO INQUIRE ABOUT THIS ISSUE I WAS TOLD THAT ALTHOUGH THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS PARTICULAR PROBLEM FOR CARS SOLD IN NEW JERSEY, IT WAS SPECIFIC TO CERTAIN VIN NUMBERS AND MY VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THIS GROUP. HOWEVER, THE CUSTOMER SERVICE AGENT MADE 2 FOLLOW UP CALLS TO ME AND THE SUPERVISOR OFFERED TO LOOK INTO MY SITUATION AND WOULD CONTACT ME ONCE SHE SPOKE WITH THE DEALER. PLEASE NOTE: FOR THE PAST TWO OR THREE YEARS THE SERVICE STABILITY SYSTEM ALERT WARNING INDICATOR LIGHT COMES ON EVERY TIME I START THE CAR AND INQUIRY AT THE DEALER LED TO ME HAVE THE STRUTS AND SHOCKS REPLACED BUT THE ALERT HAS NEVER RESET AND THE WARNING STILL COMES ON. ADDITIONALLY, THE INTERNET SEARCH UNCOVERED GM RECALL #09149 FOR THE SERVICE BRAKE SYSTEMS WHICH THE ALERT HAS BEEN ON FOR A FEW YEARS AS WELL. THE BRAKE SYSTEM HAS BEEN SERVICED SEVERAL TIMES TO REPLACE PADS AND ROTORS AND THE WARNING IS STILL PERSISTENT. I HAD BEEN TOLD IT WAS THE SENSOR THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACE AND NOT TO WORRYABOUT IT. NOW I WONDER IF THIS TOO WAS "VIN SPECIFIC" AND DID NOT INCLUDE MY VEHICLE BUT LEAVES ME UNSAFELY AT RISK. I REALIZE THAT ENORMOUS EXPENSE IS CONNECTED TO RECALLS, HOWEVER MY SAFETY AS WELL AS THE SAFETY OF EVERYONE WHO PLACES CONFIDENCE IN CAR MANUFACTURERS TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT IS AT STAKE. WE DRIVE THESE VEHICLES AND DO NOT REALIZE THE GAMBLE WE TAKE WHEN SERIOUS ISSUES ARE NOT DEALT WITH CONSIDERATION FOR SAFETY FIRST! WILL YOU PLEASE SAVE MY LIFE AND GET GM TO FIX MY CAR?
I WAS DRIVING INTO A DRUGSTORE PARKING LOT AND AS I APPLIED THE BRAKES THE CAR SPED UP INSTEAD OF STOPPING, THE MORE I APPLIED THE BRAKES THE FASTER THE CAR WENT...IT APPEARS THAT THE SPEED WENT FROM ABOUT 10 MPH TO ABOUT 40 MPH AND AS A RESULT OF THIS, MY CAR SPED UP AND WENT ACROSS A BUSY INTERSECTION AND INTO ANOTHER DRUGSTORE PARKING LOT. HAD IT NOT BEEN FOR THE PILLARS IN FROM OF THE SECOND DRUGSTORE, WE PROBABLY WOULD BE DEAD. THE CAR SIMPLY WOULD NOT STOP! IT EVENTUALLY STOPPED AFTER HITTING THE PILLARS AT THE SECOND DRUGSTORE. IT WAS GOD WHO BLESSED UP AND KEPT US HERE ON THIS EARTH..MY CAR WAS TOTALED. NOW I AM WITHOUT A VEHICLE. THIS CAR WAS A RUNAWAY CAR AT THE TIME THAT THE ACCIDENT OCCURRED.
LEFT FRONT MOTOR MOUNT FAILED 6/2015. I TOOK IT TO REPAIR FACILITY FOR A CLUNKING WHEN SHIFTING. DIAGNOSIS WAS BROKEN MOTOR MOUNT WHEN FLUID WAS LEAKING FROM THE MOUNT. REFER TO COMPLAINT # 10882088 FOR FAILURE IN 6/2016 OF THE RIGHT SIDE MOTOR MOUNT. COST TOTAL $1006.63

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE REAR AXLE PINION SEAL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
CAR WAS BUCKING . ANALYSIS FOUND BROKEN MOTOR MOUNT
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CADILLAC CTS. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG SENSOR LIGHT WOULD ILLUMINATE AND THE MESSAGE TO SERVICE AIR BAG DISPLAYED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 93,000.
THE CAR HAS UNBELIEVABLE OIL CONSUMPTION. I WAS TRAVELING FROM ILLINOIS TO IOWA TO VISIT MY FATHER. DURING THE FIRST 4 HOURS, I HAD TO ADD 4 QUARTS OF OIL. THAN 20 MINUTES FROM OUR DESTINATION, WE HEAR A POP, THE CAR STOPS RUNNING, NO BRAKES AND I AM DOING 70 MPH IN THE LEFT LANE WITH NO POWER STEERING. I LUCKILY GET THE CAR TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROAD. CALLED A TOW TRUCK AND TOW IT TO A MECHANIC WHO TELLS ME I NEED A NEW ENGINE. UPON RESEARCHING ANY ISSUES WITH CTS, I FIND NUMEROUS BLOGS WITH CUSTOMERS WITH THE SAME CAR AND ISSUES. MANY OF WHO COMPLAINED TO CADILLAC. WHY HAS THE MANUFACTURER NOT DONE ANYTHING TO CORRECT THIS, NOTIFY CUSTOMERS AND PREVENT ANY INJURIES OR WORST A POTENTIAL DEATH. WHAT ARE THEY WAITING FOR? THEY KNOW ABOUT THE BLOGS BECAUSE THEIR REPRESENTATIVE WAS ON THERE AFTER SOMEONE SUGGESTED A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT TRYING TO DEFUSE THE SITUATION.
THE TRUNK LID ON THE CTS HAS MALFUNCTIONED AND WILLNOT STAY UP. IT CAME DOWN ANS HIT ME ACROSS THE SHOULDERS WHEN TRYING TO UNLOAD ITEMS IN THE TRUNK. THIS HAD HAPPENED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, MANY TIMES I HAVE OR OTHER PEOPLE HAVE ACTUALLY BEEN STUCK IN THE HEAD FORCEFULLY BY THIS HEAVY LID. *TR
SERVICE BRAKE ASSIST MESSAGE ON SCREEN AND ABS/ TRAC CONTROL LIGHTS. BRAKES WERE CHECKED WITH NO ISSUES FOUND. ALSO ANTI-LOCKS WILL ACTIVE ON DRY ROAD FOR A SECOND OR TWO.
MY VEHICLE HAS A RECALL ON THE AIR BAG PRESSURE SENSOR MODULE. DUE TO MISSING THE CUTOFF DATE OF EXACTLY 1 MONTH THE DEALERSHIP WOULD NOT HONOR THE PAIRS. DUE TO THE $650 REPAIRS REQUIRED I WAS NOT PREPARED TO HAVE THAT SERVICE DONE. ANY ASSISTANCE OR CLARITY ON THIS IS GREATLY APPRECIATED. *TR
WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE EXPRESSWAY MY CAR STABILITY SYSTEM SPONTANEOUSLY ENGAGED CAUSING MY CAR TO SUDDENLY JERK TO THE LEFT. IT FELT AS THOUGH THE CAR DROPPED A LITTLE ON THAT SIDE AND THE TIRES LOCKED UP. I THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO FLIP MY CAR BUT LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO CORRECT IT IN TIME. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL MORE TIMES SINCE THEN, RANDOMLY, AND AT ALL DIFFERENT SPEEDS, ALWAYS THROWING ME TO THE LEFT (INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC!). MY "STABILITY SYSTEM ENGAGED" MESSAGE POPS UP ON THE SCREEN. I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC WHO RESET THE SYSTEM BUT IT HAS HAPPENED AGAIN JUST THE OTHER DAY WITH MY WIFE IN THE CAR. AGAIN, TRAVELING ABOUT 20MPH, THE CAR DROPPED AND VEERED TO THE LEFT SUDDENLY INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THE CAR IS NOW AT A CADILLAC DEALERSHIP, AND WE ARE WAITING FOR AN UPDATE. RESEARCH SUGGESTS THAT THIS IS A DEFECT IN THIS MODEL/YEAR BUT WHY NO RECALL? MANY LIVES COULD BE LOST BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE!!
THE TRACTION CONTROL TURNED OFF WHEN I WAS DRIVING AT ABOUT 45MPH. I HAVE LOSS OF MOTIVE POWER AND TRACTION CONTROL WILL NOT TURN BACK ON. I KNOW THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS SAME YEARS POWERTRAIN SEAL GOING BAD AND THINK THAT THIS IS A DEFECTIVE MODEL THAT WASN'T RECALLED. TAKATA RECALL-NOT NOTIFIED OF AIRBAG RECALL. RECALL WITHDRAWN DECEMBER 2014. MARCH OF 2015 MY PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON. I HAVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR HELP WITH THIS DANGEROUS MATTER SINCE. I NEED MORE INFORMATION ON WHO AND WHAT TO DO REGARDING GETTING THE SERVICES NEEDED. TAKATA RECALL - OWNED CAR SINCE 2007, NEVER NOTIFIED OF AIRBAG RECALL. SERVICE AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON AND I TOOK CAR TO MECHANIC ON 3/15/15. ADVISED OF RECALL. CALLED CADILLAC CUST. SERV. RECALL WAS REMOVED 12/15/14 AND TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. HAVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR HELP SINCE. MY CAR IS UNSAFE.
THE AIRBAG SENSING SYSTEM FOR THE PASSENGER SEAT HAS FAILED. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE FOR GM WHO HANDLED IT BY MEANS OF A "SERVICE ACCOMMODATION" THAT EXTENDED THE WARRANTY TO 100,000 MILES. IF IT WAS HANDLED AS A RECALL IT WOULD HAVE REQUIRED THEM TO MAKE THE NEEDED REPAIRS NO MATTER WHAT, THEY ARE DODGING THEIR RESPONSIBILITY BY HANDLING IT IN THIS MANNER AND WILL NOT PROVIDE ANY SUPPORT FOR CONSUMERS ONCE YOU PASS THE EXPIRATION. THIS IS FRAUD.

CAME TO A STOP WAITING FOR A CAR AHEAD OF ME TO MAKE A LEFT HAND TURN. WAS THEN CONTACTED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE FROM BEHIND THAT WAS TRAVELING AT AN ESTIMATED 60 MPH. MY CTS-V WAS THEN PUSHED INTO THE CAR IN FRONT CAUSING SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO THAT VEHICLE, AND CRUSHING MY FRONT END. OF ALL AIRBAGS IN THE CTS-V, NOT ONE DEPLOYED.
