WHILE TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH VEHICLE DROPPED TO THE GROUND IN THE REAR DUE TO THE REAR AXLE BREAKING AND DISCONNECTING FROM VEHICLE, AXLE ROLLED APPROXIMATELY 40 FEET AWAY FROM THE VEHICLE WHEN THIS OCCURRED, CONSUMER FELT THAT IF THIS DEFECT HAD HAPPENED WHILE TRAVELING AT A HIGHER SPEED, SERIOUS INJURIES COULD HAVE RESULTED. DEALERSHIP HAS NOT GIVEN THE CONSUMER A REASON FOR THIS PROBLEM. *AK DEALER NOT WILLING TO GIVE ANY SUPPORT IN THIS MATTER. *TT

WHILE TRAVELING 35 MPH REAR END OF VEHICLE 'FISH-TAILED' 360 DEGREES. UPON VISUAL INSPECTION, CONSUMER NOTICED THAT WHEEL HAD BROKEN COMPLETLETLY OFF. *AK
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE STALLED OUT AND DIED DUE TO AN ELECTRICAL SHORT. DEALER HAS INSPECTED VEHICLE SEVERAL TIMES PRIOR TO STALLING AND COULD NOT DUPLICATE OR CORRECT THE PROBLEM. SINCE VEHICLE STALLED, DEALER HAS REPLACED IGNITION SWITCH, BUT PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. MANUFACTURER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED. *AK
CONSUME R WAS INSIDE OF PARKING LOT AND WAS TRAVELING ABOUT FIVE MILES, HE WENT TO APPLY BRAKES, AND LEFT REAR TIRE WHEEL NUTS FELL OFF. ALSO, CONSUMER WAS HAVING PROBLEM WITH HIS REAR END MAKING CLUNKING NOISES. DEALERSHIP WAS AWARE.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 CADILLAC ESCALADE. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH IN OVERDRIVE, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE POWER STEERING AND/OR BRAKES STOPPED WORKING. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO MOVE THE VEHICLE OUT OF THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC ON THE HIGHWAY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO STATED THAT THE FUEL PUMP FAILED. THE EMC FUSE WAS ALSO BLOWN DUE TO THE FAILURE OF THE FUEL PUMP. THE REPAIRS WERE MADE AT THE COST OF OVER $900. THE MANUFACTURER COULD NOT ASSIST DUE TO THE EXPIRATION OF THE WARRANTY. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 133,000.
THE VEHICLE VIBRATED REPEATDLY WHEN THE SPEED APPROACHED 70 MPH CONSUMER BELIEVES THE GOODYEAR WRANGLER P265/70R16 TIRES ON THE VEHICLE WERE THE CAUSE. *YH
CONSUMER WAS IN TRAFFIC , APPLIED BRAKES AND PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. WHEELS LOCKED UP AND RAN INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. *AK
ABS BRAKES FAILED TWICE, FIRST TIME DEALER REPLACED POWER BOOSTER. SECOND TIME DEALER ADJUSTED REAR BRAKES. CURRENTLY, MASTER CYLINDER IS LEAKING, AND HEATCRACKS IN DRUMS. DEALER REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING MORE. *AK
PASSENGER'S MIRROR WAS SMASHED ,AND SOME KIND OF GREEN FLUID WAS LEAKING DOWN THE SIDE OF VEHICLE. WHEN CLEANING OFF THE FLUID, IT REMOVED THE PAINT. CONSUMER WAS CONCERNED ABOUT CHEMICAL BEING USED IN THE MIRROR. DEALER WAS CONTACTED. FEEL FREE TO PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS.
WHILE VEHICLE WAS PARKED TRIED TO MOVE IN REVERSE, BUT THERE WAS NO POWER AND VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED, TECHNICIAN REPLACED TRANSMISSION. *AK
LEFT FRONT OUTER TIE ROD DISCONNECTED WHILE MAKING A TURN AT 10 MPH, AND ALMOST CAUSED A VEHICLE COLLISION. DEALER NOTIFIED. *AK
CONSUMER STATED THAT THERE IS A BAD SMELLING INSIDE OF VEHICLE. VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP. ALSO, HOOD DOESN'T COMPLETELY CLOSE HOOD HAS BEEN ADJUSTED. SMELLS SEEP IN FROM OUTSIDE OF VEHICLE, DEALER CANNOT REPAIR THIS PROBLEM. *AK *ML
FUEL TANK LEAKS, HAS BEEN REPLACED TWICE, I STARTED COMPLAINING AFTER THE FIRST MONTH AFTER THE PURCHASE OF THE VEHICLE. IT WOULD LEAK OVER 1/2 GALLON OF FUEL. GM AND DEALERSHIP KEEP MAKING EXCUSES OF THE PROBLEM AND THE ODOR. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE IN OVER 7 TIMES IN 3 YEARS FOR THE ODOR AND LEAKING FUEL. THIS HAS TAKEN ME AWAY FROM WORK AND NUMEROUS HOURS IN SCHEDULING FOR REPAIRS. I AM CONSTANTLY WORRIED ABOUT MY SAFETY IN THIS VEHICLE. I AM CURRENTLY IN A LAW SUIT WITH GM. *NLM
THE VEHICLE SPONTANIOUSLY COMBUSTED WHILE MY HUSBAND WAS IN THE STORE FOR JUST A FEW MINUTES. CADILAC HAS DENIED RESPONSIBILITY AND REFUSED TO PROCEED WITH FURTHER INVESTIGATION. PLEASE HELP US. *AK

WHILE TRAVELING AT 72 MPH AND WITHOUT ANY INDICATION TIRE TREAD BLEW OUT. *AK
INTERMITTENTLY STEERING WHEEL WILL GO ITS OWN DIRECTION. DEALER HAS INSPECTED VEHICLE. *AK THE DEALER STATES THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE STEERING WHEEL, BUT THE CONSUMER POINTS OUT THAT THE STEERING WHEEL VEERS LEFT AND RIGHT. *YH
CONSUMER STATES HOOD RAISES AND APPEARS THAT IT'S GOING TO COME UP WHILE DRIVING, DEALER HAS MADE ADJUSTMENTS, AIR GETS UNDER HOOD AND CREATES A VACUUM EFFECT, CONSUMER FEELS UNSAFE DRIVING. *SLC

ONSTAR, CATALYTIC ONVERTER, BRAKES, EXHAUST, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, TV/RADIO RECEPTION, SEATBELT COVER, REARDOOR HINGE UPPER RACK SIDING, FRONT BUMPER REPAIR
BRAKE SYSTEM IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. FROM TIME TO TIME NOT ON THE REGULAR BASIS (AT LEAST ONE A WEEK) THE CAR WILL NOT STOP AT THE MOMENT TO APPLY THE BRAKES, IT JUST KEEPS ON GOING. AND 4-WHEEL DRIVE MAKES A LOUD NOISE AND AT THE SAME TIME A VIO. *AK
FUEL TANK WILL LEAK AFTER REFUELING VEHICLE. AFTER PARKING VEHICLE IT WILL CONTINUOUSLY LEAK FUEL. DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED.*AK
OCCASIONALLY WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES, THE BRAKES LOCK UP AND THE CAR BEGINS TO SLIDE. THIS STARTED A FEW MONTHS AFTER BUYING THE CAR -- IT WAS RETURNED TO THE DEALER -- THIS HAS HAPPENED OVER AND OVER AGAIN-- EXAMPLES: BRAKING SUDDENLY ON ROUGH ROAD ("THE WASHBOARD EFFECT"), BRAKING ON WET PAVEMENT WHILE DRIVING SLOWLY THROUGH A MALL PARKING LOT - BRAKING AFTER LEAVING A CAR WASH -- BRAKING AT A STOP SIGN, BRAKING SUDDENLY ANYTIME -- NATURALLY THIS IS VERY SCARY -- I DO NOT WANT ANYONE (HUSBAND, CHILDREN) TO DRIVE THE CAR EXCEPT MYSELF AS I HAVE BECOME ATTUNED TO THE PROBLEM AND AM CONSTANTLY AWARE THAT IT MIGHT HAPPEN -- I HAVE REPEATEDLY TAKEN THE CAR TO THE DEALER (I HAVE THE FORMS) MY HUSBAND ALSO HAD A MEETING WITH THE OWNER, JOHN SKINNER -- THEY ADJUST THE BRAKES AND THEN TELL ME THAT I WILL JUST HAVE TO LIVE WITH THE PROBLEM - -I AM AWARE OF OTHERS WHO HAVE HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM -- I WAS WONDERING IF A RECALL MIGHT BE A POSSIBLITY -- WE HAVE KEPT ALL THE RECORDS WHERE WE HAVE TAKEN THE CAR BACK REPEATEDLY WITH THIS SAME PROBLEM-- THE LAST TIME I WENT, THEY ACTUALLY CHARGED ME TO ADJUST THE BRAKES (ALTHOUGH THIS REALLY DOESN'T HELP -- WITHIN A FEW DAYS IT HAD HAPPENED AGAIN) --I WAS TOLD THAT CADILLAC WAS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND IT HAD BEEN FIXED ON THE NEWER MODELS OF ESCALADES- NOW MY ORIGINAL DEALER HAS SOLD THE CADILLAC PART OF HIS DEALERSHIP AND I AM GOING TO HAVE TO DEAL WITH A NEW OWNER -- I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY HELP OR FEEDBACK YOU COULD GIVE ME ON THIS MATTER. I LIVE OUT ON A LAKE AND HAVE TO DRIVE MY CHILD INTO SCHOOL AND ACTIVITIES SEVERAL TIMES A DAY AND PURCHASED THE CAR TO BE A SAFE MODE OF TRANSPORTATION FOR US. THANK YOU.*AK

VEHICLE WAS HAVING A PROBLEM WITH SUDDEN ACCELERATION. WHILE PULLING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY TOOK OFF IN REVERSE AND HIT A POLE. DRIVER PUT VEHICLE IN DRIVE AND AGAIN IT BEGAN TO ACCELERATE AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED. PROVIDE FURTHER ANY ADDITIONAL DETAILS. *NM
