THE CONSUMER FELT THAT THE BRAKE AND GAS PEDAL WAS DESIGNED TOO CLOSE TOGETHER. THE CONSUMER FOOT GETS STUCK UNDERNEATH THE BRAKE PEDAL. *JB. BRAKE PEDAL IS CURVED TO THE RIGHT-BRINGING IT TOO CLOSE FOR PEOPLE WITH WIDE SHOES LIKE ME. ALSO, FIREWALL ON RIGHT IS VERY CLOSE TO GAS PEDAL SO YOU CANNOT MOVE YOUR FOOT TO THE RIGHT TO GET MORE CLEARANCE. I FEEL THIS COULD CAUSE A FEW SECONDS DELAY IN REACHING BRAKE PEDAL IN EMERGENCY, WHICH COULD RESULT UN FATAL ACCIDENT.*AK
WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH VEHICLE STALLED. CONSUMER MANAGED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. *AK
MY DAUGHTER WAS BURNED TWICE BY THE TAILPIPE ON THE 2004 SRX. THE FIRST TIME I CALLED CADILLAC THEY TOLD ME THAT THIS WAS THE ONLY CASE ON FILE REGARDING THE TAILPIPE. SIX WEEKS LATER SHE WAS SEVERELY BURNED AGAIN. THIS TIME CADILLAC OPENED A CASE FILE AND THE CASE WAS CLOSED BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS BUILT PER CADILLAC SPECIFICATIONS. *NM
DT: WHILE DRIVING CONSUMER WAS TURNING IN FROM AN INTERSECTION AND THE POWER STEERING PUMP WENT OUT, AND VEHICLE HIT A PARKED CAR. POWER STEERING FAILED TWICE PRIOR TO CRASH. CONSUMER FOUND OUT THERE WAS A RECALL, BUT WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE RECALL. THE CAR WAS REPAIRED SINCE CRASH, BUT PROBLEM RECURRED. THE INSURANCE COMPANY AND CADILLAC SAID THE PROBLEM WAS NOT THE POWER STEERING PUMP. THEY OFFERED ME NO INVESTIGATIVE REPORT. *AK
WHILE LEANING INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE, THE EXHAUST PIPE BURNED THE OCCUPANT'S LEG. PLEASE PROVIDE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. *JB *TS
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING NORTH ON I-75 ABOUT 70MPH IN HER CADILLAC 2004 SRX. THE SUNROOF WAS COMPLETLEY OPENED AND BOTH FRONT PASSENGER WINDOWS WERE CLOSED AND BOTH REAR PASSENGER WINDOWS WERE OPEN. ALL OF A SUDDEN SHE FELT A POP IN HER EARS AND THEN THE REAR WINDOW SHEID SHATTERED. THERE WAS NO OUTSIDE TRAUMA TO THE VEHICLE. WE ARE WORRIED THAT THIS MIGHT BE A PRESSURE EQUALIZATION PROBLEM AND A DEFECT IN THE VEHICLE. PE05-052.PCO
THE CAR DIES AFTER TRAVELING ON HIGHWAY. IT GOES FROM 65 MPH TO 0. THE BRAKES, STEERING, AND COMPLETE POWER DIES. YOU HAVE NO CONTROL OVER THE CAR AT THIS POINT. I HAVE ALMOST BEEN HIT 5 TIMES NOW. ALSO, WHEN THE CARS DOES TURN BACK ON IT WILL ONLY GO 10 MPH AND SOMETIMES WHEN YOU TURN IT BACK ON THE RPM'S WILL GO TO THE MAX. IT SOUNDS LIKE THE CAR IS GOING TO EXPLODE. THIS CAR IS A DEATH TRAP. *LA
CAR HAS ROUGH IDLE UNTIL WARM. TECHNICIANS CAN NOT FIND THE PROBLEM. *JB
WHILE DRIVING POWER STEERING FAILED. THIS CAUSED THE STEERING WHEEL. *AK BACK DOOR DOES NOT OPEN. WHILE THE CONSUMER DRIVES THE VEHICLE IT BOUNCES. THE VEHICLE MOVES WITH OUT FOOT ON THE GAS PEDAL AS A RESULT OF HIGH IDLE. *TC
NO START, ENGINE RUN ROUGH AND SHUTS OFF. *NM
WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH TRANSMISSION FAILED WITHOUT WARNING. AS A RESULT, VEHICLE LOST POWER. *AK
THE CONSUMER HAS RUN OUT OF GAS ON TWO OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE IS NOT EQUIPPED WITH A LIGHT THAT ILLUMINATES WHEN THE FUEL LEVEL IS LOW. THE VEHICLE'S COMPUTER DID BEEP ONCE ALERTING THE CONSUMER OF LOW FUEL BUT IT DID NOT BEEP AGAIN. THE GAS TANK HOLD 20 GALLONS OF FUEL. THE TRIP COMPUTER CALCULATES THE AMOUNT OF MILES LEFT BASED ON THE VOLUME IN THE TANK. WHEN THE TRIP COMPUTER INDICATED THERE WAS 5 GALLON THERE WAS ONLY 3.25 GALLONS. *AK *NM
WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM LIGHT FLASHED ON DASHBOARD. SUDDENLY VEHICLE ACCELERATED. CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, AND DROVE IT TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. MECHANIC INFORMED CONSUMER THAT THE PROBLEM COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALER MORE THAN ONCE. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND WHEN THE BACK WINDOWS ARE OPENED THERE IS A SEVERE AMOUNT OF TURBULENCE. THE TURBULENCE IS TO THE POINT THAT IT ACTUALLY FEELS LIKE THE EAR DRUMS ARE GOING TO RUPTURE. DEALER SUGGESTED TO THE CONSUMER THAT HE KEEP THE FRONT WINDOW CRACKED WHEN THE BACK WINDOWS ARE DOWN. *AK *LA
CADILLAC IS UNABLE TO SUPPLY A CENTER SEAT ARMREST RESTRAINT STRAP FOR THE 2004 CADILLAC SRX VEHICLES. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE FOR INFANT/CHILD CAR SEATS IN THE EVENT OF CAR ACCIDENT THE ARMREST CAN OPEN AND CAUSE INJURY TO THE INFANT/CHILD SEATED IN THE REAR FACING INFANT/CHILD SEAT. *JB
WHILE TEST DRIVING A NEW CADILAC SRX EQUIPPED WITH AUTOMATIC ALL WHEEL DRIVE, V-8 ENGINE AND 20" TIRES (OVERSIDED THE REG 18" STANDARD TIRES AND WHEELS) VEHICLE STEERING FROZE MAKING LEFT HAND TURN GOING APPROX 10-12 MPH....RIGHT FRONT TIRE AND WHEEL . FAILED...CAUSING SKID INTO CURB....PRELIMINARY INSPECTION SHOWED FAILURE OF ALL WHEEL DRIVE OR RIGHT WHEEL LUGS/TIRE FAILURE CAUSING LOSS OF TIRE/WHEEL.*AK
BRAKE PEDAL IS ANGLED TOWARDS AND TOO CLOSE TO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. AT LEAST TWELVE TIMES CONSUMER STEPPED ON ACCELERATOR PEDAL WHILE BRAKING. *AK *MR
VEHICLE WAS PARKED WHEN CONSUMER RELEASED THE BRAKE. VEHICLE ACCELERATED BACKWARDS, JUMPED THE CURB AND HIT A TREE. MR. HOWARD KAPLAN AND MR. ANTHONY MC CLAIN WERE BOTH ASSIGNED THE SAME ODI #$ 10064585. *PH VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN AN INCLINE WITH WHEELS TURNED TO THE LEFT. WHEN VEHICLE MOVED BACKWARDS, CONSUMER TRIED TO STOP THE VEHICLE BUT FAILED. IN ADDITION, CONSUMER DOESN'T KNOW WHAT GEAR THE VEHICLE WAS IN UPON RELEASING THE PARKING BRAKE. *LA
