HEADLIGHTS ARE FULL OF MOISTURE AND ARE VERY DIM.
HAVING ISSUES WITH THE HEADLIGHT GETTING CONDENSARION INSIDE, IT USALLY TAKE A FEW DAYS FOR THIS RO DRY OUT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CADILLAC SRX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE TIMING BELT WAS STRETCHING AND COULD PREVENT THE VEHICLE FROM BEING OPERABLE. THE DEALER (GERRY LANE CADILLAC, 10945 REIGER RD, BATON ROUGE, LA 70809, (225) 341-3066) STATED THAT THEY WERE UNAWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED A 15% DISCOUNT TOWARDS THE REPAIR THAT COST OVER $1,800. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT AS LONG AS IT WAS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE THEY WERE NOT GOING TO RECALL THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER DID NOT OFFER TO ASSIST WITH THE REPAIR COST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,300.
HESITATION WHEN EXCELLARATING. THIS IS FERY SCARY AND DANGEROUS, AS WHEN I PULL OUT IN TRAFFIC, HIT THE GAS, AND NOTHING HAPPENS FOR ABOUT 3 SECONDS. I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP, AND THEY CLAIM NOTHING IS WRONG. BUT I KNOW IT S. MY HUSBAND IS A MECHANIC WITH THE ARMY, AND HE SAYS THAT CAR IS A DEATH TRAP WAITING TO HAPPEN
DEFROST SYSTEM WHEN IT IS REQUIRED IT MAY DECREASE THE DRIVERS VISIBILITY AND RESULTS IN A CRASH. MORE OR LESS IT WORKS WHEN IT WANTS TO NOT WHEN IT IS NEEDED TOO
MY 2011 CADILLAC SRX WITH DEFECTIVE HEADLIGHTS ON DIM SETTING. THE VISIBILITY IS VERY VERY POOR AND UNSAFE TO THE POINT OF WHERE I CAN'T DRIVE AT NITE. I REPLACED THE BULBS WITH THE MOST EXPENSIVE BULBS THAT I COULD BUY AND DID NOT HELP AT ALL. I FEEL THAT THIS IS UNSAFE FOR MY FAMILY AND I TO BE DRIVING AT NIGHT. I CAN'T DRIVE AT NIGHT WITH MY HIGH BEAMS ON AT NIGHT BLINDING PEOPLE OR GETTING PULLED OVER BY POLICE. THE ONLY OPTION AT THE DEALER IS TO REPLACE THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY WITH THE EXACT SAME HEADLIGHTS THAT I HAVE NOW AND HAVING TO PAY FOR ANOTHER DEFECTIVE HEADLIGHT IS RIDICULOUS. THE VEHICLE HAS PROJECTION HEADLIGHT FOR LOW BEAMS. PROJECTION TYPE IS WAY OUT DATED AND WHY WOULD CADILLAC USE THAT KIND OF HEADLIGHT. I FOUND OUT THE THE FIRST NITE I DROVE IT I CAME WITHIN INCHES OF HITTING A PERSON ON A BICYCLE. IF MY SON HADN'T BEEN WITH ME I WOULD HAVE NEVER SEEN THE PERSON. THIS IS DEFINITELY A GM SCREW-UP AND THEY SHOULD MAKE IT RIGHT FOR THE CONSUMERS AND BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT OR KILLED WHICH I ALMOST EXPERIENCE WITH PERSON ON BICYCLE. I SHOULD NOT BE LIMITED TO ONLY DRIVING MY CAR IN THE DAYLIGHT HRS. THIS IS VERY STRESSFUL WHEN YOU HAVE SCHOOL ACTIVITIES IN THE EVENING HOURS AND TRYING TO HURRY TO GET HOME BEFORE IT GETS DARK. IT TAKES ME ALMOST 2 HRS TO GET TO MY MOTHER'S AND NOW I CAN'T EVEN DRIVE AND SPEND TIME WITH HER BECAUSE OF THESE DEFECTIVE HEADLIGHTS. I HOPE GM FIXES THIS PROBLEM AND I HOPE THEY UNDERSTAND THE SEVERITY OF THIS. GOD FORBID IF SOMETHING WERE TO HAPPEN TO ME OR MY FAMILY I HOPE THAT MY FAMILY OR I WOULD MAKE SURE GM WAS HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE DEFECTIVE HEADLIGHTS. IT REALLY DISGUST ME BOUT CADILLAC NOW. CADILLAC WAS SUPPOSE TO A LUXURY CAR BUT NOW I AM LIMITED ON WHEN I CAN DRIVE IT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CADILLAC SRX. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, WATER ENTERED THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE FROM UNDERNEATH THE DASHBOARD. AN UNKNOWN CADILLAC DEALER IN REEDSBURG, WISCONSIN WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, BUT COULD NOT DETERMINE THE SOURCE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 85,000.
LAST YEAR IN 2018 TOOK MY CAR IN TO GM AND THEY COULD NOT FIND ANY THING WRONG WITH MY ISSUE OF CAR CADILLAC 2011 SRX AND FOUND THROUGH WEB SIT THAT THIS SERIES OF VEHICLES HAD A RECALL AND THE BLOWER SYSTEM FOR THE DEFROST SYSTEM, AND MY CAR IS HAVING THE SAME EXACT ISSUES AND CADILLAC WILL NOT FIX IT
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CADILLAC SRX. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS ENGAGED IN PARK, IT ROLLED BACKWARDS ON ITS OWN AND STRUCK ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS SEATED IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AT THE TIME OF THE FAILURE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE SHOULDER THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DOUG RICHERT CADILLAC (1900 SW TOPEKA BLVD, TOPEKA, KS 66612, (785) 233-1361) FOR REPAIRS. THE CONTACT WAS NOT PROVIDED ANY SPECIFICS REGARDING THE DIAGNOSTIC OR REPAIRS. THE CONTACT WAS NOT SURE IF THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
HEADLIGHTS ARE SO BAD DRIVE CAN NOT SEE UNLESS HIGH BEAMS ARE ON. ONCOMING DRIVERS CAN NOT SEE THE AUTO AT NIGHT. THIS IS AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN. WAS TOLD BY CADILLAC IT WOULD BE $200 OR MORE TO REPLACE THE LOW BEAM LIGHTS. ALMOST COLLIDED HEAD ON INTO ANOTHER CAR ON THE TACONIC PARKWAY COULD NOT SEE WHERE THE ROAD WAS AT NIGHT
VISIBILITY AT NIGHT IS VERY DANGEROUS MY LEFT HEADLIGHT HAD CONDENSATION /MOISTURE WATER IN IT AND IT CREATES A DANGEROUS DRIVING CONDITIONS. I HAVE TO REFRAIN FROM DRIVING AT NIGHT BECAUSE THE LIGHT IS SO DIM. I TRIED TO HAVE THE DEALERSHIP REPLACE AND THEY STATED THAT ALTHOUGH THERE HAVE BEEN MANY COMPLAINTS IT HAS NOT BEEN RECALLED THEREFORE THEY WILL NOT REPLACE AT NO COST. THE COST TO REPLACE ONE HEADLIGHT IS $800.00
GM HEADLIGHT COMPLAINT: MY HEADLIGHTS STARTED CLOUDING A COUPLE YEARS AGO, FOLLOWED BY VISIBLE CONDENSATION INSIDE THE HEADLAMP HOUSING. I HAVE NOTICED SIGNIFICANT DIMMING TO THE POINT I NEED TO DRIVE WITH MY BRIGHT LIGHTS ILLUMINATED TO SAFELY SEE - THEY ARE SO DIM THAT NOBODY CAN TELL THE BRIGHTS ARE ON! I WAS TOLD BY LOCAL CADILLAC DEALER THAT THE ENTIRE HEADLIGHT HOUSING MUST BE REPLACED BECAUSE NOT ONLY IS THERE CONDENSATION, IT HAS CAUSED THE "REFLECTIVE SILVER" INSIDE THE HOUSING TO DULL WHICH DOES NOT ALLOW PROPER OR SAFE REFLECTION OF THE HEADLAMP. I WAS ADVISED "SORRY, THIS IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY" AND BECAUSE THE ENTIRE THING NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AS IT IS ONE WHO PIECE, IT WILL COST APPROXIMATELY $1400 FOR PARTS - NOT INCLUDING LABOR. HOW CAN A 7 YEAR OLD VEHICLE HAVE HEADLIGHT CASING FAILURE AND "DULLING OF REFLECTIVE SILVER UNLESS THE HEADLAMP AND HEADLAMP HOUSING IS CLEARLY DEFECTIVE FROM THE MANUFACTURER? I CANNOT AFFORD TO REPLACE HEADLAMPS THAT CERTAINLY SHOULD NOT REQUIRE REPLACEMENT ON A 7 YEAR OLD VEHICLE. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CADILLAC SRX. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE HEADLIGHTS FAILED TO ILLUMINATE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED BEFORE OR DURING THE FAILURE. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 98,000.
"TAKATA RECALL" I WAS GOING HOME WHEN OVER A BUMP IN ROAD AND WENT TO STOP AND BRAKES WENT ALMOST TO FLOOR BOARD BEFORE I COULD GET THE CAR TO STOP. I ALMOST HIT ANOTHER CAR. THIS IS THE 2ND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. BOTH TIMES I HAD GONE OVER A BUMP IN THE ROAD. THE BRAKES FELT LIKE THEY WERE NOT GOING TO WORK AT ALL AND WENT TO THE FLOOR BOARD BEFORE I COULD GET THE CAR TO STOP.
THE HEADLIGHTS COLLECT MOISTURE AND THEY ONLY WORK INTERMITTENTLY, THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR OVER TWO YEARS AND I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED OF A RECALL, *TR
HEADLITES DON'T LIGHT UP ROAD AT NIGHT NEED TO USE HIGH BEAMS
I WAS PARKED IN A RESIDENTIAL DRIVEWAY AND OPENED THE REAR LIFTGATE TO REMOVE MY SON'S HOCKEY BAG FROM THE BACK. I WAS LEANING IN PRETTY FAR BECAUSE THE BAG HAD SLID TOWARD THE BACKSEAT, WHEN THE LIFTGATE CLOSED ON ITS OWN. I HAD NOT PRESSED ANY BUTTONS, NO ONE ELSE WAS IN THE VEHICLE OR AROUND. THE LIFTGATE HIT ME IN THE BACK AND PUSHED ME FORWARD AS IT CONTINUED TO CLOSE. I WAS PINNED (WITH HALF OF MY BODY IN THE CAR AND HALF OUT OF THE CAR) AND THE DOOR WAS CONTINUING TO CLOSE. MY LEFT ARM WAS STUCK UNDER ME. I WAS EVENTUALLY ABLE TO TURN SLIGHTLY AND USED MY RIGHT ARM AND RIGHT HIP TO TRY TO OPN THE HATCH. IT DID EVENTUALLY START TO OPEN. I WAS RELIEVED AND TOOK A DEEP BREATH AND THEN STARTED TO RETRIEVE THE HOCKEY BACK WHEN I REALIZED IT HAD CLOSED AGAIN. THIS TIME WAS EVEN WORSE AS I WAS COMPLETELY PINNED. I TRIED TO ROTATE AND USE MY RIGHT HIP AGAIN. I HONESTLY THOUGH MY CAR WAS GOING TO KILL ME. THE DOOR DID EVENTUALLY OPEN AGAIN AND THAT TIME I IMMEDIATELY GOT OUT OF THE CAR. I WATCHED AS THE HATCH OPENED AND THEN IMMEDIATELY CLOSED AGAIN. (THANKFULLY, WITHOUT ME IN IT THIS TIME.) I IMMEDIATELY CALLED MY DEALERSHIP. THEY MADE AN APPOINTMENT FOR ME IN ONE WEEK, SO I DID NOT USE THE HATCH AGAIN. I ALSO CALLED GM CUSTOMER SERVICE AS I WAS VERY CONCERNED THAT THIS COULD KILL SOMEONE. THE AGENT SAID SHE HAD NEVER HEARD OF THIS HAPPENING. I LATER FOUND OUT THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED FREQUENTLY AND THAT THE RIGHT STRUT IN MY LIFTGATE WOULD BE THE PROBLEM. SURE ENOUGH THE DEALER CONFIRMED THE PROBLEM AND REPAIRED IT AT MY EXPENSE. NOW, GM HAS PASSED ME FROM AGENT TO AGENT AND HAS DONE NOTHING FOR ME. THEY SAID THAT I "HAVE AN OBLIGATION AND RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE THAT THE SUBJECT VEHICLE AND ITS RELATED COMPONENTS ARE MAINTAINED AND PRESERVED IN THEIR IMMEDIATE POST-INCIDENT CONDITION.." I HAD IT FIXED BECASUE IT WOULD BE IRRESPONSIBLE NOT TO.
MOSTURE/CONDENSATION IN PASSENGER HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY, CAUSED REDUCED ILLUMINATION AND FAILURE OF THE LAMP AND SUPPORTING ELECTRICAL ASSEMBLY
MY SERVICE AIR BAG AND MOISTURE IN MY RIGHT HEADLIGHT THE ASSEMBLY IS OUT DUE TO THE MOISTURE IN THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY. CAUSING ME NOT ABLE TO SEE AT NIGHT THE COST IS $1600+ TAX. WHO HAS THAT TYPE OF MONEY LIKE THAT. CADILLAC NEED TO HAVE A RECALL ON THAT AND THE SEAT BELT.
DRIVER'S SIDE HEADLIGHT FAILED. DETERMINED IGNITER FAILURE DUE TO MOISTURE INTRUSION INTO HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY. REPAIR COST $1900. THIS IS A KNOWN DEFECT BY CADILLAC. THOUGH REPLACEMENT ASSEMBLY WAS GM OEM, THE ILLUMINATION PATTERN ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE IS 24"-36" SHORTER THAN PASSENGER SIDE THAT HAS ORIGINAL ASSEMBLY FROM NOVEMBER, 2010 BUILD DATE. MANUAL AND COMPUTER ADJUSTMENT DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM AND NO PROBLEMS REPORTED WHEN DIAGNOSTICS RUN.
MOISTURE CONTINUES TO ENTER THE HEADLIGHTS CAUSING THE BULB TO SHORT OUT AND CREATING DANGEROUS DRIVING CONDIDTIONS. DEALERS WANT $1000 TO REPLACE THE HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY
LOW BEAM DOES NOT PRODUCE ENOUGH LIGHT TO SAFELY DRIVE AT NIGHT. HIGH BEAMS ARE FINE. HAVE REPLACED BULB BUT DOES NOT WORK. VERY DANGEROUS DRIVING AT NIGHT
THE HEADLIGHTS WHEN ON DIM ARE VERY BAD AND VISIBILITY IS NEXT TO IMPOSSIBLE WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT OR IN BAD WEATHER. ALSO TO ADD TO THE HEADLIGHT ISSUE THE MOISTURE THAT COLLECT IN THE LAMPS ARE DUE TO A FAULTY SEAL BY GM AND THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED
I PURCHASED MY 2011 CADILLAC SRX ON FEB. 3, 2018 AND SINCE HAVE HAD TO REPLACED THE ENTIRE HEADLAMPS ASSEMBLY 3 YES 3 TIMES WITHIN ONE MONTH OF HAVING THIS CAR. ALSO HAD TO REPLACE BACK DRIVERS SIDE HUB BECAUSE THE STABILITY LIGHT CAME ON AFTER HAVING IT ONLY 2 WEEKS. CAN NOT SEEING DRIVING AT NIGHT AND GM NEEDS TO DO A RECALL ON THESE LIGHTS BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED BECAUSE OF IT!!!!
My headlight assemblies would get condensation and cause the bulb to become dim or burn out. Had to replace bulbs several times but still difficult to see 20 ft in front of me when driving the dark roads in north west New Jersey. Was told it was a known issue and to drill holes in the back of the headlight, which I did not do since I didn't want to damage the assemblies. The cost to replace both assemblies would have cost me at least $2000.00 or more which I did not have. I replaced the assemblies with aftermarket ones and had them installed by my mechanic. I than received the letter from Cadillac that they would reimburse us. I filled the paperwork and sent all the documentation. Never hear back for months so I followed up and was told I was missing the vin # on the receipts. I resubmitted the documents with the vin # and again waited. Made 2 more calls one said it was bring processed and should get a check in 90 days the second told me it was still being processed. Waited again for my check and still nothing 2 more phone calls and the second one has now said it was declined. When I ask to speak to a supervisor I was told there was no one there. I asked for a phone # to call someone and again was told there was no # to be given. I kept trying to speak to someone and finally the women told me she was done with our phone call and hung up on me. I don't know what or who to speak with to get this resolved. I am out $1000.00 for a know safety issue. If I hadn't replaced my headlight assemblies I would not be able to drive my car at night. Please contact me and assist in any way possible. THE SERVICE REAR AXLE COMES UP ON THE DISPLAY AFTER DRIVING 5-6 MILES. I TOOK IT INTO THE DEALER TO LOOK AT AND THEY SAID THERE WERE LEAKS OF THE AXLE FLUID AND A PUMP IN THE REAR AXLE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. TOTAL BILL IS $2100.
HEADLIGHT ON LOW BEAMS ARE ALMOST WORTHLESS. BOTH HEADLIGHTS HAVE FILLED WITH MOISTURE OVER THE LAST YEAR COMPOUNDING THE PROBLEM. THIS IS A "PREMIUM" AUTOMOBILE THEN THEY SHOULD TREAT THEM AS SUCH AND REPAIR THE PROBLEM.
THE LOW BEAM LIGHT VISIBILITY HAS PROGRESSIVELY DETERIORATED TO THE POINT WHERE PASSENGERS HAVE COMMENTED THAT I'D FORGOTTEN TO TURN ON MY HEADLIGHTS. THERE IS MOISTURE IN THE LIGHT HOUSING. WE'VE TRIED TO REPLACE THE BULBS WITH LED BULBS BUT VISIBILITY DIDN'T IMPROVE. WE'VE OBSERVED MOISTURE ACCUMULATING OVER SEVERAL YEARS BUT WERE NOT AWARE IT WOULD EFFECT VISIBILITY. I'M ENTERING AN EXACT DATE ONLY BECAUSE IT'S REQUIRED TO PROGRESS BUT I DO NOT HAVE AN EXACT DATE.
THIS WINTER IT WAS FREEZING, MY 2011 SRX CADILLAC DISPLAYED A "REDUCED ENGINE POWER" MESSAGE, AND I COULDN'T GO OVER ABOUT 5 MILES PER HOUR. I HAD TO PULL OVER AND STOP THE CAR. AFTER A SHORT TIME, I RESTARTED THE ENGINE AND HAD POWER BACK. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE CADILLAC DEALERSHIP WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON. THEY SAID IT WAS MY THROTTLE BODY SENSOR. THE COST CAME TO $603. I WAS THE SECOND CAR OUT OF FOUR WITHIN A ONE WEEK TIME FRAME THAT HAD TO GET THIS PROBLEM FIXED. CADILLAC DID A RECALL FOR THIS SAME PROBLEM ON ITS OTHER VEHICLES BUT NOT THE SRX.
PASSANGER AIRBAG DEFECTIVE. SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON. ALSO A KNOCK IN FRONT WHEELS AT TAKE OFF OR BACKING UP.
VEHICLE HEADLIGHTS DIM
MOISTURE IN HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES DUE TO SEAL FAILURE
HEAD LIGHT FIXTURE HAS MOISTER IN IT. NOT SURE WHY. COVERS ALMOST HALF OF THE FIXTURE. THE ONLY WAY TO CLEAN THE INSIDE IS TO TAKE THE ENTIRE FRONT BUMPER OFF OF THE CAR. NOT AN EASY TASK AND I'M DEFINITELY NOT A MECHANIC. ALSO LOW BEAMS ARE VERY VERY DIM. CAN'T SEE MUCH AT NIGHT WITHOUT HIGH BEAMS ON. COULD BE CAUSED BY THE MOISTER. NOT IN MOTION. JUST OVER TIME. HARD TO BELIEVE IT WOULD HAVE WENT BAD. I HAVE SAW MULTIPLE THREADS ABOUT THIS SAME PROBLEM. A VEHICLE FLAW IS WHAT I WOULD CALL IT.
HEADLAMPS HAVE BECOME SO DIM THEY ARE VERY DANGEROUS AND THE ONLY WAY TO DRIVE AT NIGHT IS WITH HIGH BEAMS WHICH IS ALSO NOT SAFE FOR OTHER MOTORIST. I DO NOT SEE ANY MOISTURE IN EITHER HEADLAMP AS OTHERS HAVE STATED. IN READING THE OTHER NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS THIS IS A SITUATION THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED AND REPAIRED BY THE MANUFACTURER FOR A FAULTY AND DANGEROUS PRODUCT.
ON HIGHWAY GOING 75MPH SUDDENLY REDUCED POWER MODE & SERVICE STABILLITRAK MESSAGES. CAR IMMEDIATELY DOWNSHIFTED TO 45MPH WHICH COULD'VE CAUSED A MAJOR ACCIDENT. TSB 14582A ' THROTTLE BODY ' REDUCED POWER MODE WHICH STATES 'THIS SPECIAL COVERAGE COVERS THE CONDITION DESCRIBED ABOVE FOR A PERIOD OF 10 YEARS OR 120,000 MILES (193,000 KM), WHICHEVER OCCURS FIRST, FROM THE DATE THE VEHICLE WAS ORIGINALLY PLACED IN SERVICE, REGARDLESS OF OWNERSHIP' EXISTS, YET MY DEALER WILL NOT HONOR THE EXTENSION ON THE WARRANTY BECAUSE MY VIN IS NOT PART OF THE TSB.
THE HEADLIGHTS ON THIS VEHICLE PROVIDES NO ILLUMINATION WHEN SET ON DIM. WE HAVE TO DRIVE WITH OUR BRIGHTS ALL THE TIME. ABSOLUTELY CAN NOT SEE WHEN USING THE DIM SETTING. IT IS FRIGHTENING.. IT DOES NOT MATTER IF VEHICLE IS MOVING OR SITTING STILL...USING THE DIM HEADLIGHTS PROVIDE THE SAME ILLUMINATION AS NOT USING ANY LIGHTS AT ALL.
VISIBILITY IS DANGEROUS WHEN HEADLIGHTS ARE ON LOW BEAMS. IT APPEARS AS IF YOU ARE DRIVING WITH YOUR LIGHTS OFF- MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD- VERY DANGEROUS!! WAS ALMOST HIT HEAD ON BECAUSE DRIVER DID NOT SEE MY VEHICLE.
MY 2011 SRX NEEDS TO HAVE THE FRONT PASSENGER HEADLIGHTS REPLACED DUE TO WATER IN IT COMPLETELY OUT AND NOW THE DRIVER SIDE AS WELL IS HAVING CONDENSATION AND WATER LEAKING. SO I NOW HAVE TO HAVE TWO HEADLIGHTS REPLACED. HEADLIGHT OUTAGE WAS NOTICED DRIVING HOME ON HIGHWAY AND NOTICED CAR IS NOT LIGHTING UP THE HIGHWAY PROPERLY.
LOW BEAMS HAVE BEEN NOTICEABLY DIMMER OVER TIME. HIGH BEAMS A BRIGHT. LOW BEAMS SEEM DANGEROUS.
HEAD LIGHTS FULL OF WATER
WHEN YOU GO THROUGH A PUDDLE THE STEERING LOCKS UP AND YOU CAN'T MOVE FOR ABOUT 15 20 SECONDS THIS CAUSES YOU TO PANIC AND IS DANGEROUS CAUSE YOU CAN'T STRAIGHT OUT THE WHEEL.
I HAVE A 2011 SRX THAT HAS 78,000 MILES ON IT. THE HEADLIGHTS ARE NOT SEALED PROPERLY AND WATER LEAKS INTO THE HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY. THE WATER HAS CAUSED THE HEADLIGHTS TO BE SO DIM THAT I CAN BARELY SEE AT NIGHT. IT'S LIKE DRIVING WITH FLASHLIGHTS. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY WANTED $1400 FOR NEW LIGHTS. I CALLED GM TO SEE IF THEY WOULD ASSIST WITH THIS OUTRAGEOUS AMOUNT OF MONEY FOR NEW HEADLIGHTS AND THEY REFUSED ANY ASSISTANCE. THE SAID THIS WAS A NORMAL MAINTENANCE ITEM. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING FOR 40 YEARS AND HAVE NEVER HAD MY HEADLIGHTS LEAK AND HAVE MOISTURE IN THEM, SO I DISAGREE THAT IT IS A NORMAL MAINTENANCE ITEM. WHEN I BALKED AT THE $1400 QUOTE, THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT THE DEALER SUGGESTED THAT THEY COULD DRILL HOLES IN THE OUTER COVER AND DO A RESTORATION CLEANUP OF THE LIGHT ASSEMBLY. I PAID $418 FOR THEM TO DO THAT. JUST PICKED IT UP AND THERE IS STILL WATER IN BOTH LIGHTS.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE STREET JUST AFTER EXITING THE FREEWAY BOTH SIDE AND DRIVER AIRBAGS DEPLOYED AND ABRUPTLY SHUT CAR OFF IMPACTING MY ABILITY TO STEER AND BRAKE. NO CRASH NO ACCIDENT NO EXTERIOR DAMAGE
CONSTANT MOISTURE IN THE HEADLAMPS CAUSE SERIOUS VISION ISSUES WHEN LIGHTS ARE ON DIM. LIGHTING IS OBSTRUCTED AND VISUAL OF THE ROAD IS SERIOUSLY IMPAIRED. THE DIM LIGHTS ARE NOT FUNCTIONAL WITH CONSISTENT MOISTURE. THERE IS A CURRENT LAWSUIT INVOLVING OTHER GM VEHICLES FOR THIS VERY REASON. A RECALL NEEDS TO BE ISSUED.
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS HAVE DIMMED TO THE POINT OF NOT FEELING SAFE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT.
ONCE YOU BRAKE IT STAYS APPLIED , BRAKE LIGHT STAYS ON, THE BRAKE PEDAL DOES NOT RAISE ONCE YOU BRAKE BUT IT STAYS APPLIED, THAT WAY CAR DOES NOT GET APPROPRIATE SPEED BUT IT BRAKES ITSELF.
DIM LIGHTING DUE TO BURNED OUT COATING. THESE HEADLAMPS WERE REPLACED AND THE PROBLEM PERSISTS. THIS NOTICED WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT.
THE FACTORY LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ON THIS CAR POSE A SAFETY RISK FOR EVERYONE ON THE ROAD. YOU CAN BARELY SEE ANYTHING ON THE ROAD WITH THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ON THIS CAR. THE HIGH BEAM HEADLIGHTS WORK PERFECT, BUT THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE DANGEROUS. I'VE SEEN MANY PEOPLE THAT DRIVE THIS VEHICLE HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. I BELIEVE A RECALL SHOULD BE PUT INTO PLACE DUE TO THIS PROBLEM ORIGINATING FROM THE FACTORY.
MOISTURE ACCUMULATION IN HEADLAMPS AND CAUSING THEM TO GO VERY DIM, HAVE TO DRIVE WITH THEM ON HIGH BEAMS BECAUSE I CAN'T AFFORD TO PAY OUT OF MY POCKET BY MAY 28, 2020, AND WAIT ON REFUND, AND IT COST MORE THAN THE SETTLEMENT LETTER WILL ALLOW! THAT IS SIMPLY NOT RIGHT!!! WHY SHOULD WE HAVE TO PAY OUT OF OUR POCKETS AND LOOSE MONEY ON A PROBLEM THAT GM HAS KNOWN ABOUT SINCE 2010 AND DONE NOTHING ABOUT UNTIL THEY ARE SUED AND THEN THEY ARE STILL NOT TRULY RECTIFYING THE PROBLEM FOR THOSE WHO CANNOT AFFORD TO HAVE IT FIXED NOR PAY OUT OF THEIR POCKET FOR THE DIFFERENCE IT WILL COST THEM TO HAVE IT REPAIRED? THIS HAS AFFECTED APPROXIMATELY 300,000 CADILLAC SRXS NATION WIDE AND GM IS NOT WILLING TO DO A RECALL ON THEIR OWN! THEREFORE SOME PEOPLE ARE HAVING TO RIDE AROUND I SAFELY WITH THEIR HIGH BEAMS ON, IN WHICH COULD POTENTIALLY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT AND INJURE OR POSSIBLY CAUSE DEATH TO THEMSELVES OR OTHERS!!! GM SHOULD BE MADE TO DO A RECALL TO RECTIFY THIS PROBLEM!!!!
EXTREME MOISTURE BUILDUP IN BOTH HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES CAUSING DECREASED NIGHTTIME VISIBILITY AND ADDITIONALLY CAUSING BULBS TO BLOW OUT. PURCHASED 2011 SRX USED IN 2017 WITH 63,000 MILES, NOT AWARE OF THE DEFECT AT THAT TIME. A LIMITED WARRANTY WAS ALSO PURCHASED FOR AN ADDITIONAL $2700 BUT WAS INFORMED AFTER ASKING THE DEALERSHIP TO INVESTIGATE THAT DEFECTIVE HEADLIGHTS ARE NOT COVERED. QUOTED ALMOST $5,000 TO REPLACE BOTH. THIS IS HIGHLY UNSAFE AS WELL AS UNFAIR TO THE PUBLIC, NOT ONLY THE RISK OF FAILURE POTENTIALLY CAUSING BODILY HARM BUT I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT I SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO PAY AN ADDITIONAL $5,000, NOT INCLUDING THE WARRANTY PURCHASED, TO REPAIR A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT.
