REAR HATCH OPENED ON ITS OWN WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. REAR HATCH ACTED ERRATIC AFTER THAT AND RAISED 3/4 OF THE WAY AND CAME DOWN RAPIDLY, ALMOST TRAPPING PERSON. REAR HATCH THEN CLOSED AND WOULD NOT OPEN EVEN ON MANUAL SETTING. HEARD LOUD RUSH OF WATER WHILE BACKING OUT LIKE IT WAS RUNNING DOWN THE INSIDE PANELS IN REAR, NO WATER NOTED ON REAR CARGO CARPET. TOOK TO DEALER, FOUND MODULE SHORTED OUT. REPORTED TO DEALER AFTER RESEARCH, WHILE WAITING ON PART, THAT OTHER COMPLAINT FOUND ONLINE SIMILAR, NOTED TIED TO WATER FROM SUNROOF DRAIN, ASKED THEM TO CHECK IF MODULE WAS WET. NOTED HAD SUNROOF DRAIN REPLACED PRIOR ON THE RECALL.. DEALER NOTED NO CONNECTION. PICKED UP CAR AFTER NEW MODULE ON SAT.; PICKED UP GROCERIES ON TUES. AND FOUND CARPET WET IN BACK. FOUND 1" OF WATER IN SIDE STORAGE IN REAR ON PASSENGER SIDE UNDER CARPET AND 1" OF WATER IN SPARE TIRE AREA UNDER CARGO WITH REAR HATCH MODULE/MOTOR SITTING IN THE 1" OF WATER. THEN HATCH WOULD NOT WORK AGAIN- CALLED DEALER- SET TO TAKE CAR BACK AGAIN THIS SAT.. REQUESTED CADILLAC CARE AND DEALER TO CONTACT SAFETY DEPT. OF CADILLAC SINCE REAR HATCH SHOULD NEVER OPEN BY ITSELF WHILE DRIVING DOWN HIGHWAY, AND THEY INFORMED ME THEY HAVE NO WAY TO CONTACT ANYONE AT CADILLAC REGARDING SAFETY CONCERNS. *TR
BOTH MY CAR'S HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY ARE SO DIM, THAT I CAN NO LONGER DRIVE AT NIGHT. GM IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM IN 2010-2015 MODELS. A LAW SUIT WAS WON IN FLORIDA, HOWEVER, THE OUT OUTCOME ONLY REPAIRS CARS IN FLORIDA AND CALIFORNIA. IF GM IS GOING TO REPLACE SOME HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES THEN THAT IS ADMITTED GUILT AND SHOULD REPLACE CARDS IN THE OTHER 48 STATES. THERE IS ANOTHER LAW SUIT IN DETROIT, RIGHT NOW. IT IS NOT A COINCIDENCE THAT THE HEADLIGHT ISSUE IS ALL OVER THE NATION! GM KNEW OF THE PROBLEMS FROM 2010 TO 2015, AND DID NOT CORRECT THE DEFECT OF THE SEALING GASKET, OR WHATEVER THEY CALL IT. CONSUMERS SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR DEFECT THAT WAS KNOWN ABOUT AND IGNORED. IF YOU WILL LOOK ONLINE ON VARIOUS FORUMS AND BLOGS YOU WILL SEE THERE ARE A LOT OF US THAT HAVE THIS PROBLEM. NOT BEING ABLE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT IS A MAJOR INCONVENIENCE, NOT TO MENTION VERY DANGEROUS TO ME AS WELL AS EVERYONE ELSE ON THE ROAD. THE LIGHT DIMMING STARTED SEVERAL YEARS AGO, HOWEVER, JUST IN THE LAST 2 YEARS THE PROBLEM HAS GOTTEN TO THE POINT I CAN'T DRIVE AT NIGHT DUE TO THE FACT IT LOOKS LIKE I HAVE MY PARKING LIGHTS ON WHEN DRIVING.
DRIVING AND MAKING A TURN WHEN MY STEERING WHEEL AND BRAKES LOCKED UP.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CADILLAC SRX. WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS AND ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. WHILE AT A COMPLETE STOP, THE VEHICLE SHOOK. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE INTERIOR LIGHTS WOULD INDEPENDENTLY DIM. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURES OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CADILLAC SRX. WHILE DRIVING AT 65 MPH DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WERE ACTIVATED BUT FAILED TO FUNCTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 76,000.
THE CARS LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE SO DIM YOU CAN NOT SEE AT NIGHT. I HAVE REPLACED BULBS WITH THE BRIGHTEST ON THE MARKET WITH NO CHANGE IN INTENSITY. IF THE CAR IS DRIVEN AT NIGHT IT MUST BE DRIVEN WITH THE HIGH BEAMS ON AT ALL TIMES (WHICH IS ANOTHER SAFETY ISSUE IN ITSELF). THERE APPEARS TO BE NO FIX FOR THIS ISSUE OUTSIDE A TOTAL REDESIGN OF THE LIGHTING SYSTEM. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE!
THE LOW LEVEL HEADLIGHTS IN THIS SRX HAVE BEEN DIM, TO THE POINT OF BEING NO BRIGHTER THAN THE PARKING LIGHTS. THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE SINCE MY WIFE ORIGINALLY PURCHASED THE VEHICLE ABOUT 4 YEARS AGO, AND HAS GOTTEN PROGRESSIVELY WORSE. WE RECENTLY REFINANCED IT IN MY NAME. WE CANNOT DRIVE AT NIGHT OR IN THE RAIN. THE ISSUE IS DUE TO WATER AND MOISTURE BUILDUP IN THE HEADLIGHT. THIS IS A COMMON AND KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THIS MAKE/MODEL/YEAR. THE REPLACEMENT COST IS EXPENSIVE AND NOT ONE THAT IS EASILY COVERED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2012 CADILLAC SRX. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE CONSOLE CAUGHT FIRE AND MELTED. THE CONTACT ALSO NOTICED SOOT IN THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE. THE FIRE INDEPENDENTLY EXTINGUISHED ITSELF. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,000.
REAR LIFT GATE SLAMMED CLOSED WHILE PUTTING ITEMS IN TRUNK. HAD REPLACED BUT WAS TOLD MY VEHICLE WAS NOT A RECALL
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE TOO DIM TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. THE DEALER SAYS THERE IS NO COMPLETE FIX THAT'S JUST THE WAY IT IS. TRIED BRIGHTER BULBS NO HELP, THE DESIGN OF THE HEAD LIGHT ASSEMBLY IS FLAWED AND IF YOU REPLACE THEM IT'S ONLY A TEMPORARY FIX. THE ONLY WAY TO SEE AT NIGHT IS WITH HI BEAMS ON.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CADILLAC SRX. THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V571000 (SUSPENSION). WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE STRUCK A BUMP IN THE ROAD AND VEERED TO THE LEFT WITHOUT WARNING. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL BEARING WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000. UPDATED 09/18/15*LJ
HEADLIGHTS GET VERY DIM, TO THE POINT THAT THEY APPEAR TO BE TURNED OFF. THEY DO NOT EVEN ILLUMINATE THE LINES ON THE ROAD. THIS HAPPENS WHENEVER THERE IS ANY MIST OR RAIN, OR HUMIDITY. VERY DANGEROUS AS I CANNOT EVEN TELL WHERE THE LANES OF THE ROAD ARE WITHOUT FLASHING ON MY HIGH BEAMS, WHICH ONCOMING TRAFFIC DOES NOT APPRECIATE.

WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH OVER A POTHOLE, THE VEHICLE SWAYED FROM THE LEFT TO THE RIGHT AND THE ANTILOCK BRAKE AND ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. IN ADDITION, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V571000 (SUSPENSION). THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. DIM LIGHT ALWAYS HAPPEN WHEN EVER DRIVING AT NIGHT AND WE MUST USE BRIGHT HEADLIGHTS TO SEE. *TR
THE LOW BEAM DRIVING LIGHTS ARE VERY DIM. WE CAN BARELY SEE THE ROAD AND WOULD NOT SEE A PERSON WALKING ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD OR ANY TYPE OF STREET SIGN OR INFORMATION SIGNAGE. *TR
WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT ON LOW OR DIM YOU DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH LIGHT TO SEE ANYTHING OR ANYONE AND THEY CAN NOT SEE YOU WE HAVE ALMOST HAD SEVERAL WRECKS BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR TO BOTH THE DEALERSHIPS IN HUNTSVILLE TX WHERE WE BOUGHT IT AND ALSO THE ONE IN CONROE TX AND BOTH HAVE TOLD ME THE KNOW ABOUT THIS PROBLEM BUT THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO ABOUT THE PROBLEM BECAUSE THERE IS NO RECALL I KNOW THAT THIS IS AN ON GOING PROBLEM THAT THEY HAVE KNOW ABOUT FOR SEVERAL YEARS AND THAT SEVERAL LAWSUITS HAVE BEEN FILED IN STATE COURTS IN CA AND FL
HEADLIGHTS ARE SO DIM I WILL NOT DRIVE CAR AT NIGHT. TRIED CHANGING BULBS BUY NO IMPROVEMENT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CADILLAC SRX. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH AND DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE FAILURE RECURRED A FEW TIMES. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE, BUT THERE WERE NO ERROR CODES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 39,000.
CAR IS PARKED. REAR LIFT GATE WILL NOT STAY OPEN. OPENS THEN CLOSES ERRATICALLY. COULD CAUSE BODILY HARM IF A PERSON GETS CAUGHT IN THE WILD SWING OF THE LIFT GATE. THE CAUSE COULD BE AN ELECTRICAL CONTROL MODULE. MY DEALERSHIP KEEPS TELLING ME THERE IS A RECALL PENDING BUT THIS PROBLEM BEGAN TWO YEARS AGO AND IS STILL ONGOING. I AM NOT ABLE TO USE THE LIFT GATE OF THIS VEHICLE FOR FEAR OF BODILY HARM. PLEASE NOTIFY ME WHEN A RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED.
I WAS ENTERING THE FREEWAY DURING RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC, AND NEEDED TO CROSS 4 LANES OF TRAFFIC. I GOT TO THE SECOND LANE AND STARTED TO MOVE INTO THE THIRD LANE. WHEN I PRESSED ON THE ACCELERATOR, IT WAS AS IF I SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES. THE CAR HAD NO POWER AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE FOR A FEW SECONDS. THE CAR BEHIND ME NEARLY REAR-ENDED ME BECAUSE THERE WAS NO WARNING, NO BRAKE LIGHTS, SINCE I WAS PRESSING ON THE ACCELERATOR, YET THE CAR BEHAVED AS IF I HAD HIT THE BRAKES. THIS IS THE 3RD NEAR MISS DUE TO THIS HAPPENING. I HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS OCCASIONALLY FOR THE PAST YEAR AND A HALF, BUT IT IS HAPPENING MORE FREQUENTLY NOW AND I FEAR AN ACCIDENT IS INEVITABLE. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER BUT, SINCE I COULDN'T MAKE IT HAPPEN ON DEMAND, THEY TOOK NO ACTION. THEY SAID THERE WERE NO DIAGNOSTIC CODES APPEARING. IN THAT CASE, I DON'T SEE WHAT DIFFERENCE IT MAKES IF I CAN REPRODUCE IT FOR A TECH OR NOT. IF THERE ARE NO CODES APPEARING THEN MY THOROUGH DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM SHOULD BE SUFFICIENT BECAUSE THE TECH IS NOT GOING TO GET ANY FURTHER INFORMATION OTHER THAN EXPERIENCING THE LOSS OF ACCELERATION PROBLEM. THERE ARE OTHERS REPORTING THIS BEHAVIOR ON CADILLACFORUMS.COM, AND THERE WAS EVEN A RECALL FOR THE 2013 SRX FOR THIS BEHAVIOR. I FEAR FOR MY SAFETY SINCE I NEVER KNOW WHEN THIS IS GOING TO HAPPEN AS I TRY TO ACCELERATE, ESPECIALLY WHEN ENTERING ANOTHER LANE. SOMETIMES THE CAR BUCKS AND JERKS BACK AND FORTH A FEW TIMES, OTHER TIMES IT JUST ACTS LIKE I HIT THE BRAKES AND SLOWS DOWN, BUT EVENTUALLY IT ACCELERATES AND RETURNS TO NORMAL BEHAVIOR. VERY DISCONCERTING. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CADILLAC SRX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT RECEIVED EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS OF MOISTURE, CAUSING THEM TO SHORT CIRCUIT. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE ENTIRE LIGHTING ASSEMBLY AND SEALS NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,485.
MVA WITH TWO IMPACTS; FRONT DRIVER SIDE (SIGNIFICANT IMPACT) AND FRONT OF VEHICLE NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. *TR
VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN A DRIVEWAY WITH A SLIGHT SLANT. REAR HATCH WAS OPENED AND WE WERE UNLOADING VEHICLE. VEHICLE WAS IN PARK AND TURNED OFF. APPROXIMATELY 5-10 MINUTES AFTER EXITING THE VEHICLE, WE WENT BACK OUTSIDE TO REMOVE ITEMS FROM THE REAR. THE VEHICLE STARTED ROLLING AWAY (TIRES TURNING, NOT A SLIDE). A PERSON IN THE GROUP WAS ABLE TO CATCH IT AND JUMPED IN THE DRIVER'S DOOR AND APPLIED THE BRAKE. SERVICE DEPT REPORTS THEY CAN FIND NOTHING WRONG. I'M GRATEFUL WE WERE ABLE TO CATCH IT OTHERWISE, SOMEONE COULD HAVE BEEN INJURED WHILE UNLOADING THE REAR OR IT COULD HAVE ROLLED AWAY AND CRASHED WHILE WE WERE IN THE HOUSE. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE REVERSE SENSOR SWITCH WAS ACCIDENTLY TURNED OFF AND THAT THERE WERE NO DEFECTS FOUND IN THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 23,000.THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. MAILED OUT 01/13/15*LJ UPDATED 1/21/2016*JS
I WAS ATTEMPTING TO GAIN SPEED WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN MY VEHICLE LOST ACCELERATION AND THE ENGINE RPMS INCREASED AS IF MY VEHICLE WAS ACCELERATING. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND MY TRANSFER CASE MODULE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. *TR
PUSHED BUTTON TO RAISE THE REAR HATCH AND HATCH RAISED TO THE UPPER LIMIT THEN QUICKLY SWUNG DOWN , UP TO THE FULL OPEN POSITION , SWUNG DOWN AND UP AGAIN WILDLY ON ITS OWN AND FINALLY SLAMMING CLOSED WITH-ENOUGH FORCE THAT IT WAS UNSTOPPABLE.....WOULD HAVE CRUSHED A PET OR CHILD. THERE WAS NO OBSTRUCTION SAFETY STOP WHATSOEVER. *TR
Low Beam Headlamps are very dim-hard to drive at night because of low visibility
VEHICLE DRIVER AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY, NOR ANY OTHER AIR BAG, UPON COLLISION TO REAR OF A STOPPED PICK UP TRUCK. SPEED OF OFFENDING VEHICLE WAS APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH. DRIVER SUFFERED CHEST INJURY FROM SEAT BELT. DAMAGE ESTIMATED TO FRONT END EXCEEDS $10,000. *TR
I FELL ASLEEP WHILE DRIVING, JUMPED A LEVEE, RAN THROUGH A FENCE, AND WRECKED IN A GRASSY WATERY AREA. MY ENGINE WAS SMASHED, THE MOTOR MOUNT BROKE, AND MY TIRES ARE PUSHED BACK. MY AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. MY FACE HIT THE STEERING WHEEL AND MY NOSE IS BROKEN. I WOULD LIKE TO FIND OUT IF THERE IS ANY RECALLS ON THIS CAR. *TR

WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THE POWER STEERING FLUID WAS LEAKING OUT OF THE POWER STEERING PUMP INTO THE STEERING. THEY CLEANED IT ALL OUT, AND ADDED A THICKER FLUID ON 3/ 25/2014, WE STARTED THE CAR IT HAPPENED AGAIN WE TOOK IT DIRECTLY TO DEALER AND THEY AGREED SOMETHING WASN'T RIGHT. THEY PUT IN A NEW PUMP. WE PICKED IT UP HAD IT TWO DAYS AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN. WE TOOK IT BACK,AND WAS TOLD THE DEALER CALLED GM AND THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING ELSE BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE PARTS. WE WERE TOLD IT WASN'T DANGEROUS, BUT I'M THINKING IF THE POWER STEERING FAIL WORKING WHILE DRIVING, WE COULD CRASH. *TR

LOSS OF AIR PRESSURE , NO APPARENT DAMAGE, PUNCTURE OR VISIBLE CAUSE . SAME MICHELIN TIRE WILL LOSE 2-3 # OVER ONE WEEK OF DRIVING . DEALERSHIP CHECKED TWICE, TIRE COMPANY THOROUGHLY CHECKED AND CONCLUDED LEAK MAY BE CAUSED DURING THE MANUFACTURE OF THE TIRE AND OR THE RUBBER COMPOUND. AIR PRESSURE MUST BE CHECKED WEEKLY AND BROUGHT UP TO RECOMMENDED PRESSURE,35 PSI .

ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, THE CONSUMER RETURNED TO HIS VEHICLE TO FIND THE VEHICLE RUNNING AND THE GARAGE FULL OF FUMES. THE STEERING WHEEL AND WINDSHIELD BLOCKED THE VIEW OF THE ENGINE START/STOP BUTTON. WHICH HAS RESULTED IN THE CONSUMER LEAVING THE ENGINE RUNNING ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE CONSUMER STATED THE START BUTTON SHOULD BE MOVED TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT OR UP OR DOWN , IN ORDER TO BE VISIBLE FROM THE DRIVER'S SEAT. *JB

STEERING SCREECHES AND SHUDDERS WHEN TURNING WHEN TEMPERATURES ARE BELOW 40 F. I'VE TAKEN IT IN TO BE CHECKED AT LEAST SIX TIMES. I AM REPEATEDLY TOLD THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE FROM THE GET GO AND NOW WITH 55,000 MILES ON THE CAR IT IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTEE.

I WAS PULLING IN TO A PARKING SPACE AT A LOCAL MALL. AS I TURNED MY WHEEL MY VEHICLE TOOK OFF AND I LOST ALL CONTROL. THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED AND THE CAR WOULDN'T STOP. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO STEERING PROBLEMS AND LUG NUTS FAILURE. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED HIS WIFE COMPLAINED ABOUT A NOISE COMING FROM THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL AND FELT THE CAR WAS NOT PERFORMING CORRECTLY. THE CONSUMER STATED HE TOOK THE LUG COVER OFF AND THREE LUG NUTS FELL TO THE GROUND AND THE 4TH LUG NUT WAS LOOSE TO THE POINT THAT HE WAS ABLE TO UNSCREW IT BY HAND. THE TWO LUG NUTS THAT HELD THE WHEEL WERE ON, BUT NOT SNUG. HE THEN CHECKED ALL THE LUG NUTS ON THE OTHER WHEELS AND FOUND MOST OF THEM LOOSE AND NONE WERE TIGHT. HE THEN USED HIS FOUR-WAY LUG WRENCH TO SECURE ALL THE WHEEL. GM'S SOLUTION WAS TO SIMPLY ROTATE THE TIRES AND BASICALLY USE THE PROPER TORQUE TO APPLY THE LUG NUTS.
I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE BRAND NEW IN 2012. WITHIN A SHORT WHILE, I NOTICED HOW DIM THE HEADLIGHTS WERE. IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS/IMPOSSIBLE TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE AT NIGHT AS THESE HEADLIGHTS CAUSE LITTLE TO NO VISIBILITY. WHEN I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP THEY SAID IF THEY WERE TO REPLACE THE CURRENT HEADLIGHTS THEY WOULD REPLACED WITH THE SAME FAULTY HEADLIGHTS UNFORTUNATELY. I WAS THEN TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT MY ONLY OPTION IS TO SELL THE CAR. I CANNOT AFFORD A NEW CAR AND KNOW THAT THE PROPER & FAIR SOLUTION WOULD BE FOR CADILLAC TO ISSUE A RECALL ON THESE HEADLIGHTS AND REPLACE THEM WITH PROPER, SAFE AND FUNCTIONING HEADLIGHTS. I OPENED THE REAR LIFT GATE FROM INSIDE THE CAR . I HAD JUST PARKED CURBSIDE AT MY 13 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER'S SCHOOL , AS I DO EACH SCHOOL DAY MORNING TO DROP HER OFF . AS SHE LEANED IN THE BACK CARGO SPACE TO PULL OUT HER BACK PACK AND LUNCH BOX THE CARGODOOR STARTED TO CLOSE ON ITS OWN ON MY DAUGHTER . NEITHER OF US HAD PRESSED THE BUTTON . I WAS UNAWARE AT FIRST AS I WAS IN THE FRONT SEAT FACING FORWARD , I HEARD HER SCREAM AND WAS WATCHING IN HORROR AS SHE WAS BEING CRUSHED BY THE DOOR BETWEEN THE DOOR AND HER BAG AND THE CARGO COMPARTMENT . I DID NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THE DOOR DID NOT TREVERSEAND WAS UNSURE IN THAT SPLIT SECOND IF I PRESSED THE BUTTON WOULD IT REVERSE THE DOOR OR CRUSH HER FURTHER . I ALSO WAS UNAWARE IF I HAD ENOUGH TIME TO JUMP OUT OF THE CAR, RUN TO THE BACK . TO TRY TO PULL THE DOOR UP . THIS CAME CLOSE TO BEING A CATASTROPHE. LATE IN THE FIRST YEAR AFTER WE PURCHASED THE CAR WE NOTICED FROM THE BACK HOW LOW THE FUEL TANK EXTENDED TOWARD THE GROUND. WE DIDN'T THINK MUCH OF THIS UNTIL THIS YEAR WE NOTICED A DENT ON THE TANK. I CHECKED THE NEW SRXS AT THE DEALER AND FOUND THE NEWER MODELS HAD MUCH MORE GROUND CLEARANCE ON THE TANK. WE THOUGHT THERE MUST HAVE BEEN SOME PROBLEMS AND THEY HAD CHANGED THE TANK CLEARANCE TO CORRECT THIS. I HAVE NOT YET CONTACTED THE DEALER TO SEE IF A CORRECTION CAN BE MADE ON MY CAR.
