The contact owns a 2015 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated while driving 40-45 MPH, the tachometer went down to 0. Additionally, the check engine warning light and the ABS warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who informed the contact that the catalytic convertor, ABS module, and the suspension needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
Transmission has trouble shifting
BRAKE, ABS, and traction message came on at the same time. EBCM 20842710 is the part number. Been at BIG STAR CADILLAC in Houston, Texas a month with no explanation except waiting on GM for parts but the Dealership can’t tell me anything and I am ready to call the News station about this situation. They can’t get me in another vehicle unless it’s NEW with a hefty down payment that I don’t have. I have dialysis 3 times a week and now I have to use my wife’s car, now she can’t get to work. What are we supposed to do??? How much longer do I have to wait? They can’t answer that either. This is the USAand can’t get a simple part. No one seem to care either. Very distraught and unhappy. I need help and I need it NOW!!!
2/17/23 - Alarm went off 6AM EST; I received an Onstar Theft Alarm notification indicating theft deterrent system had been triggered. Sensor: Door/trunk/gate open. No activity around vehicle; alarm stopped on its own. No threat detected. Key fob nor internal button would open rear lift gate. 2/20/23 Problem confirmed by dealer (Integrity Cadillac, Chattanooga, TN); water found in rear cavity from sunroof drains; water damage to lift gate module and motor, (both replaced) clean sunroof drains $1760.37 Vehicle not inspected by mfr., police, insurance reps, etc. No warnings before alarm triggered; only after alarm triggered, "Theft Detection Warning" error msg scrolled across dash after vehicle started; gauges on dash acted erratically while driving.
The contact owns a 2015 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated that soon after purchasing the vehicle, he noticed that both the front headlights were extremely dim while driving at night. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the dimly lit illumination from the headlights limited his vision while driving at night. The contact took the vehicle back to the dealer where they offered to cover half the cost of the repair for the headlights. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
The headlights are failing despite replacing the bulbs. The vehicle can not be driven at night. The bulbs were replaced by a mechanics shop. There has been no warning light or error messages on the dashboard.
I bought this as a certified used vehicle. On 1/21/2023 I had a wreck and based on my vehicle, injuries, and photos I strongly believe the airbags should have deployed. I specifically bought this vehicle due to the safety and airbag components. I am reporting this incident because I would not want anyone to be injured or any children in the event that this is something that needs to be looked into. I appreciate your website and how it breaks down the safety of vehicles and for this reason I feel it is important to report this issue. (It was a total loss, I sought medical attention, the vehicle was towed, however the photos are what blew my mind when I went to retrieve my items. I do not understand how airbags did not deploy).
Suddenly, low beam headlights have become VERY dim. Both low beam headlights still work. They are both so dim you cannot see the roadway. Research revealed GM knows of this problem and has refused to issue a recall.
this is 5 vehicle that i m working on for Cadillac SRX, now become a owner one, i m work on cars more then 15 years: I haven't seen low beam headlight very less brightness almost close to parking light the deem, its impossible to see with low beam on this Cadillac SRX SUV they most recall and replace it , it high risk to do accident and you may not able to see road. even this was in news some channels. i will try to go dealer ship ask previous law suit cases regarding about , you guys out there should not allowed this headlight to stick around, other people life in your hands this headlight has really problem about how bad deem is its not acceptable headlight
Low beam headlamps very dim. Bulb is on but no projection. Low visibility at night or in rain.
The contact owns a 2015 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the front driver's and passenger’s side headlamps became dim. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the headlamp assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the VIN was not included in a recall, and the contact was transferred to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was 212,000.
The dim headlights must lose their reflective material around them as they get dimmer with age. I've replaced the headlight bulbs with stock headlight dim bulbs and there wasn't any improvement in visibility. I then replaced the bulbs with the brightest ones NAPA has and minimal improvement. I asked my car mechanic about this and he said they are known for this. He had just replaced the whole assembly for one two days prior to my coming in. Replacement cost $2000 with still having this defect occur again. The bright headlights work excellent. Makes it hard to drive with any visibility at night. Please review this safety issue.
Headlamp mechanism defect. Running headlights were so dim, I could barely see the road at night. My car only has 65,000 miles on it and I rarely drive at night. However, I did notice that the headlights seemed very dim the past few months and was trying to figure out if it was a setting issue (automatic/manual/etc.) or actual headlamp issue. Nothing worked. When I made a 100 mile drive in the dark, I had virtually no headlights. It was very scary and dangerous. When we checked online for headlamp issues, I see that there has been an ongoing issue with many people regarding the defective Cadillac headlamp issue. The lighting mechanism is defective and lets moisture accumulate inside the unit, causing corrosion to the lighting system. I see some people have been reimbursed $800(+/-) for replacement of those headlamps (EACH headlamp part cost me $900). Other people having the same problem have been unable to seek restitution. I went to my dealership and presented the problem to them. They agreed the headlamp units were failing and needed replacement; however, it would not be covered under any recall or my bumper- to-bumper extended warranty. I ended up having to paying $2,500 for this repair of defective parts. They suggested I call GM. I did. GM said they stopped making restitution in June 2022. They offered a $100 oil change certificate. In reviewing online complaints, this problem has been going on for quite some time in 2015-2020 Cadillacs. If this is a recurring problem due to defective parts, why is it not covered, and how can they justify no longer giving any type of restitution? Shouldn't there be reimbursement/replacement (RECALL) to anyone and everyone with this problem?

2015 CADILLAC SRX. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARD TO DEFECTIVE HEADLIGHTS.
Headlights grew dimmer and dimmer, creating a serious danger for night-time driving. The problem was confirmed by the local dealer. Both front headlight assemblies were replaced by the dealer at a cost of $2,460. The problem appeared over 2 years ago, but it gradually deteriorated, especially since the vehicle was a second car and not driven often at night. No warning lamps or symptoms until one night we were on the highway and realized it was a huge, scary safety issue as we were not visible to other drivers on the highway, and vice versa.
I have extremely dim headlights. I have to drive with my high beams on but they are dim as well. I had the dealership look at the lights and was told that the bulbs are fine but there is a known issue with the seal and water getting in and corroding the lens so the light can't pass thru. I was told Cadillac won't recall it but know about it and it will cost me $2600 to replace the entire assembly. I was also told it won't pass inspection like this. I can barely see and that is a huge safety issue for me. I struggle to drive at night. I work in downtown Houston and drive over an hour up and back. I drive home in the dark and am struggling to see to drive. Im a single mom of two...$2600 is just not possible for me. In addition I was told by the service team that when they first found out about this...they offered discounts but you had to pay in full first, then file a claim but they are not offering discounts any longer. I NEED TO BE ABLE TO SEE WHEN I DRIVE! This is not just a repair. This is a factory defect that should be fixed immediately under a recall. I will put today's date on the when, but my lights have gotten dimmer and dimmer over 2 years and now are dangerously dim.
Dim headlamps that are non fixable by installing new lights.. headlamp assemblies in the 2016 Cadillac SRX suffer from defective seals that allow moisture to accumulate and condense, therefore damaging and dimming the headlight bulbs.
I am filing a formal complaint with Cadillac and the NTSB about the design of the 2015 Cadillac SRX sunroof drains and rear hatch. The issue is that the rear sunroof drains get clogged and water fills the rear compartment and destroys the rear hatch electronics. Further, there is no manual release on the rear hatch which creates a safety hazard as there is no access to the spare tire. The repairs are estimated at $3,091.09 as shown on the attached quote and diagnostic receipt.
The headlights on my 2015 SRX are faulty--even GM admits it. They are so dim that it is dangerous to drive at night unless I keep my high beams on at all times, which is dangerous to other drivers. Without the high beams on at night, the reduced headlight performance prevents me from seeing more than 5 feet in front of my car. There was no warning--the lights simply dimmed to the point where I thought I didn't turn them on--but they are automatic on, just dim. The dealer has told me I need to fix the entire headlight assembly, at a cost of $2800.
The contact owns a 2015 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated that while driving at night with the headlights activated, the illumination from the headlights were very dim causing a difficulty with seeing the roadway. The contact also stated that she was unable to view objects unless they were within 10 to 20 feet of the vehicle. The failure almost caused the contact to crash into an outdoor trash can that was on a street curb. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where the failure could not be duplicated. The contact was then made aware that a satisfaction program for the headlights had expired. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that the satisfaction program had expired. The approximate failure mileage was 42,400.
The recall on the the toe Link adjuster was replaced with a part that does not allow for adjustment of toe in or toe out. As a result, the rear tires had premature wear on the inside tread causing replacement of the tires. The dealer claims the replacement is correct and will not correct the part. The tire store said the part will not allow them to do the alignment to be correct.
Headlamp mechanism defect. Running headlights are so dim, I can barely see the road at night. My car only has 37,000 miles on it. However, I did notice that the headlights seemed very dim the past few months and was trying to figure out if it was a setting issue (automatic/manual/etc.) or actual headlamp issue. Nothing worked. I decided to checked online for headlamp issues, I see that there has been an ongoing issue with many people regarding the defective Cadillac headlamp issue. Low Beam Headlights are extremely dim and do not safely light road for night time driving. Took automobile into Cadillac Dealership and requested that headlights be tested. Mechanic documented that both headlights were below standards and recommended that both headlight assemblies be replaced. The Dealership mechanic explained that simple replacement of light bulb would not remedy problem and that the entire headlight assembly needed to be replaced at a cost of $1,200 EACH. My local mechanic has confirmed that he has tried to replace only light bulbs on other SRX's and all types of light bulbs have failed to increase the light intensity. This is definitely either an engineering and/or manufacturing defect where a car owner needs to spend over $2,300 to obtain adequate safe headlight lighting. The Cadillac SRX is a very popular model and being a model under 10 years old there are many drivers out on the roads driving at night with unsafe lighting being provided by their OEM automobile. I request that a recall be issued for this significant safely issue.
The headlights are too dim to drive at night and with close to zero visibility, this is an extreme hazard. A Google search results in thousands of Cadillac SRX owners with the same issue and have called this car a "death trap" and have stated that they almost hit pedestrians. GM/Cadillac is not taking responsibility and are telling owners that we have to pay $2000 out of pocket for replacing the entire light housing, except the high beams and driving lights work but not the headlights for nighttime driving which is obviously a manufacturing defect. Please hold GM/Cadillac responsible before someone loses their life.
I was in an accident on 8/19/22. I was completely stopped when struck head on by a Ram Truck with a Ranch-hand bumper. The hit totaled my car, bending the frame and pushing the left front of the vehicle up against the firewall and driving my vehicle sideways. However, the airbag did not deploy. The car is now in possession of Texas Farm Bureau Insurance. My head struck the driver's-side window, and I suffered a head injury, whiplash which resulted in a concussion, and neck and back injuries. There were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the accident.

The contact owns a 2015 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated while driving 35 MPH at night, he was unable to properly see the roadway while using the headlights. The contact stated that he replaced the bulbs in the headlights but continued to experience the failure. The contact called the local dealer and made them aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 62,000.
Since I purchased this car secondhand, the headlights are very dim at night, and it is unable to see in the dark, unless if I have my highbeams on which is a big safety hazard. The class action act expired by the time I purchase a vehicle, and I was unaware of this at the purchase of the vehicle. I have been in contact with two different aftermarket warranty companies, and they are refusing to cover it, in contact with Cadillac and oh, they suggested it was an aftermarket warranty. I have been unable to get coverage for something I believe I should since it is a safety hazard and that is not anything at my fault.
2015 CADILLAC SRX. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARD TO REAR SUSPENSION TOE LINK SAFETY RECALL. THE CONSUMER STATED THE MANUFACTURER DESIGNED A FAULTY RECALL. THE VEHICLE REQUIRED AN ALIGNMENT, BUT DUE TO THE RECALL IT COULD NOT BE PERFORMED. THE FAILURE CAUSED ABNORMAL WEAR ON THE TIRES. THE CONSUMER REFERENCED RECALL N212340980.
My vehicle screen is starting to shatter .Each day it’s shatter more and more. I hear a thump noise and then the screen shatters more and more. My vehicle has never been in a accident.
The contact owns a 2015 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated while driving 30 MPH, the vehicle started to sway and was drifting, requiring her to make constant adjustments to stay in the lane. The contact stated that the rear tires had worn along the side wall and she had replaced the rear tires four times. The contact stated that each set of tires had worn out in the exact same manner, along the entire inner side wall. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer to be diagnosed and it was determined that there were no issues with the rear suspension. The vehicle had not been repaired. The contact stated that NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V473000 (Suspension) was completed in May of 2022 by the same dealer. The contact had asked the dealer if the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V473000 (Suspension) but had been advised by the dealer that the recall had been performed correctly. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 105,000.
The contact owns a 2015 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated that while depressing the brake pedal, a squeaking noise was present coming from the front of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who replaced the front brake pads and rotors, but the failure continued. Additionally, while driving at night with the low beam headlights activated, the headlights were extremely dim, making visibility extremely difficult while driving. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 40,700.
The contact owns a 2015 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated while driving at night, the headlights failed to provide adequate lighting. The contact stated that the headlights were extremely dim while driving on dimly lit streets. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the headlight assemblies needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 57,000.
The contact owns a 2015 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated while driving 30 MPH, his wife noticed that the vehicle was jerking. The contact noticed that tread on both rear tires was worn. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the dealer stated the vehicle was already repaired under the NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V473000 (Suspension). The manufacturer was contacted and stated that the dealer needed to repair the vehicle. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and an alignment was performed; however, the failure persisted. The failure mileage was 70,384.
Failed sunroof drains caused flooding, which further cost damage (complete loss) to the lift gate module and pump. Problem has been confirmed by the dealer service department.
The headlights are very, very dim when driving the vehicle at night. They are getting progressively worse. Before I took ownership of the vehicle, it was owned by my elderly parents, (82 and 88), both recently deceased. In the years prior to their deaths, they drove much less and hardly ever at night. It wasn't until I took ownership that my wife and I began to notice just how dim the lights were when driving at night. I took the car, which then had 52K miles on it back to Bentley Cadillac in Huntsville, AL, where it had been purchased to have it's latest recall performed. I also paid $1350 to have the climate package controls replaced, which hadn't worked properly for years. I was preparing the vehicle to sell as I was left with too many vehicles and too few drivers. A potential buyer test drove it and part of the drive was at night. They came back saying what we had noticed previously, that the headlights were too dim for safe nighttime driving. The buyer, who had previously expressed very strong interest did not follow through with the purchase as she stated that she felt the vehicle was unsafe to drive at night, which, of course, would seriously limit the vehicles usefulness to her, or, to anyone else for that matter, including myself. I looked at the internet to try and ascertain whether there were others having similar problems with vehicles like mine. Indeed, there were many describing exactly the problems I had been experiencing. The seals on these SUV's were and are continuing to break down allowing moisture into and the headlights, making them defective and unsafe to drive. While I found no active recalls, Cadillac had previously acknowledged the problem by reimbursing some owners for repairs they themselves had paid for up-front around the year 2020. I contacted the Cadillac and the dealership. The best they did was to offer between around $400 and $600 toward a repair that was going to cost between $1600 and $2K, or more by the time is was completed.
The contact owns a 2015 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated that while driving at night the headlights became dim and only projected a beam approximately 30-feet ahead of the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that other motorists were flashing their headlights. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed that it was an internal failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but no additional assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 66,974. Consumer was told he would receive a letter from a agent to fill out and return the start a claim. He has not received that letter.
The contact's friend owns a 2015 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated while driving at night, he was unable to see the road clearly and had to use the high beam headlights to continue driving to his destination. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 63,500.
There have been ongoing complaints about the headlights on this car. I avoid driving my car at night due to the fact that visibility is compromised. I had a SERIOUS near miss while driving at night. I was driving on a residential street and did not see a bicyclist going the same direction. The bicyclist veered slightly into my lane and I literally DID NOT see them. Causing me to clip their rear tire causing them to loose control and hit a curb. This is SERIOUS! The police said the headlights on my car were clearly a hazard! In my mind it would make sense for GM to replace the headlights rather than having to pay for a wrongful death lawsuit.
https://www.700r4transmissionhq.com/service-stabilitrak-cadillac-srx/ While driving to Chicago the car lost acceleration in the midst of expressway driving at the same time the StabilityTrac sensor came one, the speedometer started acting wonky. This happen going and coming from Chicago.
Vehicle Headlamps (dim beams). Yes, it is available for inspection. The Cadillac SRX SUV state inspection was rejected for defective headlamps on 4-1-2022( both low beam headlights not bright enough). Prior to purchase the state inspection was conducted by the dealership (Wells Auto Group in Mckinney, Texas). I was not aware of any problems with headlights (Dim). I notice while driving those dim beam lights were not putting out much light on darker not well-lit streets. I thought maybe this is the way the dim beams supposed to be. No. I have not seemed any warning lamps, messages, or any notification from General Motors (GM) on this safety problem. The safety of my family and others is at high risk when there is not proper lighting for headlights beams.
The liftgate on my vehicle has stopped working. After researching this online I see that Cadillac/GM was sued concerning this issue. Please look into this for me. This repair would be very costly and it is unthinkable for a car that is less than 7 years old has this kind of body failure.
Low beam lights very dim driving at night, safety hazard. Unknown to be when I purchased this vehicle. Research uncovered issues with SRX models 2010-2016..
I received a recall on my Cadillac SRX for a Rear Toe Link Separation Update issue. I had the repair completed at Plaza Cadillac in Leesburg, FL. This repair was completed on 03/11/2022. I have received multiple recall notices by text message, and Official Recall Notices about this work. I feel that there is gross incompetence somewhere in the system between the authorized dealer and GM and I have been unable to resolve this to stop the incorrect notices about a recall where the work has been completed. I feel that this is not only an inconvenience to receive these incorrect recall notices, but it is also a safety issue, because I could mistake a future recall issue about a problem with my vehicle and overlook it due to the incorrect notices that I have received and continue to receive.
Foggy headlights cannot see… reported by multiple srx owners.
Had the recall corrected at auto gallery Chevrolet in commerce Georgia in December they put new parts on and car wasn’t driving properly I returned it and they put the old parts on then it was driving better than before but It was eating the back tires off went through 2 sets of tires then took it back to dealership and they did alignment when returned it was roaring and still eating tires off the rear wife was driving yesterday evening and she said it started shaking and sliding
Headlights problems with this 2015 Cadillac SRX that only has 56k miles. I had just bought this car and on the way home from the dealership I had to use my high beams to see anything on my hour trip. The low beam lights are so low you can not even tell that they are on at all. How did this pass inspection? This could cause an accident. It is not safe driving at night. I was given no information about this defect when I bought it. There are not warnings lights on the dash system. There are many other people complaining of this very problem. The entire headlight assemblies need to be replaced according to research. Why is there not a recall on this? It's very dangerous!
The headlights are so dim I can't see at night without putting my bright lights on. The dealership is aware of the problem, they say there was a rebate given not a recall. I was told it would still cost me over $600 in addition to the $1600 the manufacturer was giving as a rebate. The problem with that was the letter I received stated the headlight would frost over due to moisture. Since my headlight did not look frosted I choose not to get them repaired. After driving one night on a road with no lights I saw how bad it really was. I had the light bulb changed, that did not help any. So I went back to the dealership that's when the mechanic explained to me that it was the inside light housing that holds the bulb had what was light a "cataract" and the only fix is changing the whole headlight unit. This could cost more than $2000. The date to use the rebate has passed.
The headlights are so dim that they are a hazard unless i drive with my high beams on. the other night someone was walking at night and I was unable to see them until I was very close tot hem. My husband remarks how he can barely see at night, We have changed out the headlights and it made no difference. My Uncle has a 2014 Model and he has commented he has the same issue. They are a true hazard and Cadillac should have to do something about the faulty head lights. I would love to see how they compare to a normal SUV
