The low beam headlights are extremely dim, and it is a commonly known issue with these Cadillac SRX models. This is a 2015, but all owners of these model years complain of the same issue. There was a class action lawsuit previously on these headlamps, it focused on moisture entering the headlamp assembly. I had the Cadillac dealer inspect, they determined there was no moisture degrading the lamps. So nothing was done. The lamps are very dim and dangerous at night. Again, a common srx owner issue. The Cadillac dealer yesterday suggested just using the high beams all the time, or replace the low beam 55 watt lamps with 65 watt high beam type lamps. Not sure that would be best solution. Also, they wanted $1400 to change the lamps in this scenario. Again, back to the safety issue, these low beam lamps are dangerously dim. No doubt someone has had an accident due to these, fortunately I have not (yet)
The Low-beam headlights are so hot they are melting the reflective coating off the headlamp housing causing the headlights to not project. This is a safety issue that needs to be addressed asap. When driving at night you cant see 15 ft in front of you without the high beams. I have spoke to Cadillac and this is a known issue. Last night there was a pedestrian walking down the side of the road and i was unable to see him and almost hit him.
When driving at night with the headlights on dim, I can barely see the road. I have to drive with them on bright. I have heard other SRX have had the same problem. I’ve called a Cadillac dealership twice to get info about a repair…they said they would call back but have not and it’s been at least 4 months since I contacted them.

low bean lights are very dim, visibility is very difficult cannot drive at night low bean light is very dim cannot see the road. high bean draws attention from other drivers blinding them. please advise on a remedy for this safety hazard
The tow suspension recall was supposed to be fixed but auto gather Lori Chevrolet in commerce Georgia the first time they had vehicle for two weeks after replacing with new parts vehicle did not drive properly whatsoever so they put the old parts back on aligned and problem was better as of before the replacement parts but core Adolf all the river on rear tires in less than two weeks took it back to the dealership they inform me that they aligned it after leaving dealership horrible roar and has Adolf two more sets of tires in the rear end I’m unsure on how to correct the situation because the dealership is being bullies about the situation But the recall is not fixed vehicle is unsafe to drive
The evaporator purge valve has went bad on my 2015 Cadillac srx performance. I know this is a recall on alot of gm models.
I noticed while driving at night, my headlights are extremely dim. After researching the problem, I discovered that there is a problem with the headlights having to do with moisture and corrosion and that Cadillac is aware of the problem, but will not issue a recall. There are several lawsuits pending including a Class Action filed in Detroit, MI. I contacted the dealership who informed me that Cadillac was paying for customers to have the lights fixed on a reimbursement plan. However, Cadillac stopped that program. It is an extremely dangerous situation to not have the headlights work properly. Cadillac should do a recall and fix this problem.
The SRX is known to have issues with the headlight assemblies. I even received a letter from Cadillac that informed me that moisture may get into the assemblies, which causes them to fail. The moisture shorts out the assembly which greatly dims the bulb. On one particular night in Michigan, I had to drive with my high beams on just to be able to see the road. I had just replaced the bulbs so they were brand new, but I had zero visibility. I have reached out to Cadillac regarding this issue, but they do not feel that it warrants a recall. Currently I have replaced both assemblies and bulbs for my own safety. Cadillac has verbally stated to me that it is not a safety concern. I'm pretty sure if you can't see the road at night, that would be considered a major safety concern.
The contact owns a 2015 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the headlights dimmed, causing the contact to not see the road ahead. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The dealer diagnosed that the weather sealant for the headlights was faulty. The vehicle was not repaired and remained at the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact to have the dealer contact them. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.
The headlights are failing, new lamps does not resolve the issue. Bad design, the inner reflective housing has melted and the lamps no longer light the road correctly. New lamps did not resolve the issue. I am having to replace the whole lamp housing at over $600 per side just to enable me to drive at night. Very dangerous situation
Cannot see at night, headlights are too dim even after being replaced. After looking into it, this seems to be a major problem for everyone that owes these vehicles. I just bought this vehicle used in December 2021 and did not test drive it at night, so did not know it was an issue when purchased.
In the last several months I have noticed a dimenished light output of the low beam headlights. It has gotten to the point where the light emitted is not adequate to drive at night and is unsafe. The only way to safely drive at night is with the high beam headlights.
Low beam headlights are so dim as to be useable.
The contact owns a 2015 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated that while driving at night at an undisclosed speed, the headlights were dimmed, and it was difficult to see ahead. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and diagnosed with headlamp assembly failure. The headlamp assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that notifications were mailed to vehicle owners about the headlamp assembly replacement. However, the eligibility period had passed. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
Vehicle headlights are very dim and night visibility is extremely limited and very dangerous. Driving in rain proves impossible. Seems to be a known issue that Cadillac owners are repairing themselves to the tune of between $1400-3000. Models SRX, years 2010-2016 After reading many user/enthusiasts web forums, I see this issue being reported by hundreds of owners.
I've had issues with my headlights going dim, and when I take it in there is nothing, that can be done about it. This has occurred more than once.
In February 2020 Cadillac notified me "that a small number of model year 2010-2015 SRXs may experience issues that could cause moisture to accumulate in their headlamp capsules and/or cause Halogen headlights to become dimmer over time." (Claim Number [XXX]) At that time I had no issues but I have this issue now, as diagnosed by my dealer. The dim low beam headlights make the vehicle undriveable at night. I have replaced the actual headlight bulbs but the problem as per the dealer is "moisture has damaged the deflectors". My dealer and Cadillac (case #[XXX]) have offered a 10% discount on the estimated $2,300 repair cost. I believe this to be a serious safety and quality issue. Also, SRX owners have been treated unfairly with 2010 model year owners receiving 10 years of replacement coverage and all others getting less. THE CONSUMER REQUESTED INFROMATION ABOUT THE MINIMUM SAFETY STANDARDS FOR LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS.

The trunk which operates by key fob only is no longer remaining open as it should. Instead the trunk will immediately upon opening begin to lower as very quickly. Once the automatic lowering hits the half way point, it will quickly close shut. This a liftgate issue/failure that has great potential to cause extreme harm to someone placing or retrieving items from the trunk; harm that has the potential to be fatal. This is the 2nd major safety issue that I've reported to GM (Cadillac) and no accountability has been taken. I've been told that they are aware of this issue (and the other) as they have been reported by other owners; however, they will love to offer money off if I purchased a new vehicle with them. This is absurd.
There is webbing, delaminated on the touchscreen. It is no longer functioning. Dealership is asking $1700 for replacement. This is something that Cadillac knew and refuses to recall/replace. I cannot afford to replace this. It’s unethical of Cadillac to do something like this. Some type of voucher or assistance would be grateful if Cadillac/GM would step up to the plate and assist with this repair. It’s unacceptable and dangerous.

A brake module went out in the car August 2021. Brake, ABS, stability track, power steering warning lights all on. Cruise control doesn’t work. Lane assistant and back up camera system not fully operational. This is a warranty repair. It’s been 4 months and Cadillac can’t get the part to fix it. A brake module seams important

I RECEIVED A RECALL # N212340980. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THERE IS NO SOLUTION UNTIL GM GETS PARTS. MY SON WAS DRIVING CAR AND ALMOST HAD AN ACCIDENT ON INTERSTATE. I WANT PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE THAT GM HAS NOT COME UP WITH THE PARTS AND ALMOST KILLED MY SON BY CAR GOING OUT OF CONTROL.
Low beam headlights are NOT safe to drive with at night. EVEN after replaced by dealership upon being recalled. This is a disaster waiting to happen.

I have been having issues with my vehicle stalling and trembling. The Stabilitrak message, check engine light, and service traction control message has turned on a couple times when starting the car. On Aug 9th, I received a letter in the mail stating that my car has a safety recall. The same day I called the Cadillac dealership where I bought the car and scheduled an appt to check these issues and advised about the recall letter I received. The dealership scheduled an appt on Aug 31st. On the 31st, I dropped the car off and left it there for two days. On sept 2ns, I called to check on the status of my car, when the service assistant advised that they did not have the part and have to order it and they do not know when they are going to receive it. Nothing was done to my vehicle. I asked if I can leave my car at service and get a loaner and they said they were not lending out any vehicles due to the pandemic. I live 1hour from the dealership. I have been driving for almost a month around with a vehicle that's not safe. The recall letter clearly states that if this vehicle is driven , it can result in a crash. It also states that the parts to repair the vehicle are not currently available. I am not sure what to do or who to contact in this matter as I do not have another vehicle I can rely on. Please advise.

Recall has been a month already with no fix. I am without a vehicle, when is this recall going to be fixed?
Low beams are so dim as to be dangerous, not only for passengers, but also for people, animals and property outside the vehicle. Visibility is so incredibly poor as to not illuminate a pedestrian in a crosswalk early enough to facilitate a safe stop. Nothing in writing from the dealer, but agent aware of the problem with no fix. The problem is constant, not intermittent. Became most apparent approximate 37000 miles, while driving a winding road, returning from Soboba casino at night. Vehicle has a little over 40000 miles now. No warning lamps, messages. There are enough online complaints to wonder why GM has not recalled for repair. Is GM awaiting for a certain injury or death toll?
While driving during the last month, the CUE system that controls the heating/cooling controls (among other options) turned itself off. Hence, the air conditioning shut off. This may not seem to be a safety issue, but we were driving back from Topsail Island, NC, to our home in Winchester, VA and it was 97 degrees outside. After several tries, we were able to get it going again, but it continues to shut itself off unpredictably. I am 70 years old and my husband is 75. We also have a dog who can't tolerate heat. This could be a life-threatening issue for us. We are in the process of getting this replaced, for about $800! My research on the web and info from the dealer indicates that this is a widespread issue. It is deserving of a recall.
Left front & rear right turn signal failure. Unable to signal other drivers of intent to turn
The Dim headlights are too dim to drive in evenings and cloudy, foggy, or any time lights are needed
Headlights low beams are dim. Causing dangerously restrictive visibility when driving at night. A google search indicates that this problem is widespread and very common. I first noticed this about six months ago.
I have notice several Cadillac SRX, the headlights on the passenger side are very dim. Have talk to several people that owns Cadillacs SRX and they are having the same problem. Very unsafe to drive at night. Have had the bulbs changes it didn't correct the problem. I'm very dissatisfied. Will you please help.
THE CHROME WHEELS ON THIS VEHICLE, WHICH ARE AN EXPENSIVE OPTION, ARE PITTING AND RUSTING. NEITHER CADILLAC DEALERS OR CADILLAC SERVICE ARE WILLING TO HONOR THE CORROSION WARRANTY FOR THIS PROBLEM.
NO HEADLIGHTS AT NIGHT. HAVE TO USE THE HIGH BEAMS AND THEY ARE DIM. TOOK IT BACK TO CADILLAC AND THEY WERE AWARE OF THE SITUATION AND THAT THERE IS NO RECALL!????!!! MORE THAN WILLING TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE FOR $2000.00. NEVER WOULD HAVE EXPECTED THIS OUT OF CADILLAC. OR NHTSA FOR THAT MATTER. HOW DO YOU SAFELY DRIVE A VEHICLE AT NIGHT WITH NO HEADLIGHTS? WHY IS THERE NO OFFICIAL RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM?
MY HEADLIGHTS ARE SERIOUSLY DIM AND THE VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. I HAVE ALMOST HIT A PERSON CROSSING A STREET THAT UNDER NORMAL LIGHTING I WOULD HAVE SEEN. THIS ISSUE IS KNOWN BY GM BUT THEY WONT RECALL. YOU CAN CHANGE BULBS BUT IT DOESNT HELP. IT TAKES REPLACING THE ENTIRE ASSEMBLY WITH AFTER MARKET PARTS BECAUSE GM PARTS ARE FAULTY. THIS IS EXTREMELY COSTLY AND REQUIRES THE FRONT END OF THE CAR BE DISASSEMBLED. THEY WINT EVEN COVER UNDER WARRANTY / EXTENDED WARRANTY
PURCHASED A 2015 CADILLAC SRX 10-9-2020. AFTER DRIVING FOR SEVERAL WEEKS, NOTICED DRIVING AT NIGHT WAS HARD TO SEE, AS LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS WERE VERY DIM. TOOK TO AN AUTO SHOP WHO INSPECTED AND SUGGESTED HEADLIGHT BULBS BE REPLACED. DROVE A COUPLE OF NIGHTS AND STILL HAD LOW VISIBILITY. TOOK BACK TO AUTO SHOP AND AFTER AN INTENSE INSPECTION, DISCOVERED THE ENTIRE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. LOOKING ON THE INTERNET, WE DISCOVERED THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH MANY OTHER CADILLAC SRXS. I WROTE A LETTER TO GM DESCRIBING MY SAFETY CONCERNS WITH THE VEHICLE. I WAS CONTACTED BY A CUSTOMER SERVICE PERSON, WHO IN TURN, PUT ME IN CONTACT WITH A LOCAL CADILLAC DEALER. THE DEALER THEN PUT ME THROUGH TO THEIR SERVICE REP, WHO TOLD ME THEY COULD DO NOTHING FOR ME, THAT THE WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED. ALL REPAIR WORK WOULD BE OUT OF POCKET. THE SERVICE REP TOLD ME THAT GM HAD SENT OUT LETTERS TO CADILLAC OWNERS REGARDING THE HEADLIGHT REPAIRS, AND THAT THE TIME HAD EXPIRED. I TOLD HIM I DIDN'T OWN THE CAR AT THAT TIME, SO I WAS UNAWARE OF ANY LETTER, AND THE PREVIOUS OWNER EVIDENTLY DIDN'T HAVE IT REPAIRED. THE COST TO REPLACE THE BOTH HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES IS $1,950.00. SINCE THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY PROBLEM OF DRIVING AT NIGHT WITH LOW VISIBILITY, I AM REQUESTING THAT NHTSA HELP GO TO BATTLE WITH GM AND DEMAND A RECALL TO FIX THIS PROBLEM ON ALL CADILLAC SRX VEHICLES BEFORE THERE ARE ACCIDENTS, OR WORSE YET, A DEATH, CAUSED FROM THE LACK OF VISIBILITY WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. THIS PROBLEM SHOULD NOT BE. GM SHOULD NOT EVEN THINK TWICE ABOUT REPAIRING A CAR THAT DEFECTIVE COMPONENTS HAVE BEEN DISCOVERED ON THEIR CARS. NHTSA, PLEASE HELP US!
THE VEHICLE IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AT NIGHT DUE TO INCREDIBLY DIM HEADLIGHTS THAT HAVE BECOME PROGRESSIVELY DIMMER OVERTIME. VISIBILITY AT NIGHT IS THE EQUIVALENT OF DRIVING WITH PARKING LIGHTS ON. TRAVELING ON ROADS WITH HIGHER SPEEDS INCREASES THE RISK AS IT'S IMPOSSIBLE NOT TO OVERDRIVE YOUR HEADLIGHTS. IF IT IS RAINING AT NIGHT, VISIBILITY IS REDUCED TO ALMOST ZERO. AFTER MUCH RESEARCH, IT APPEARS TO BE AN ONGOING PROBLEM FOR MANY OWNERS OF THIS MAKE/MODEL/YR. THE ENTIRE HEADLAMP HOUSING NEEDS TO BE RECALLED AS IT IS DEFECTIVE, MAKING THE VEHICLE UNSAFE TO OPERATE.
