TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET AVEO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. THE FAILURE RECURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER NUMEROUS TIMES AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 9,000....UPDATED 07-10-13 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED AS HE PULLED OUT INTO TRAFFIC, THE VEHICLE STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION. AFTER ABOUT 10 SECONDS, THE VEHICLE FINALLY ACCELERATED. UPDATED 07/18/13
TL* THE CONTACT PREVIOUSLY OWNED A 2009 CHEVROLET AVEO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE EXHAUST PIPE DID NOT EXTEND BEYOND THE BUMPER CAUSING THE FUMES TO ESCAPE INTO THE VEHICLE. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY COULD NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. THE CONTACT TRADED THE VEHICLE IN FOR ANOTHER VEHICLE DUE TO THE PROBLEM. HE HAD NOT SPOKEN WITH THE MANUFACTURER IN REGARD TO THE PROBLEM. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 4,000. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 1,000. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET AVEO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT ANY WARNING. THE DEALER INSPECTED THE VEHICLE SEVERAL TIMES AND STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 16000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 35000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO REPLACED THE COMPUTER; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS STILL EXPERIENCING THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT HAD EXPERIENCED THE FAILURE SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 4000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET AVEO. THE CONTACT STATED THE FRONT TIRES WERE REPLACED FOUR TIMES . THE DEALER ADVISED THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO THE CONTACT DRIVING AGGRESSIVELY. THE TIRES WERE REPLACED WITH 8,621 MILES. THE CONTACT STATED ALL FOUR TIRES NEEDED REPLACING AT 15,018 MILES. THE CONTACT BELIEVED THAT THE FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY THE FRONT SUSPENSION YET WHEN CONTACTING THE MANUFACTURER, THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THE TIRES WERE WEARING AS THEY WERE DESIGNED. THE CONTACT STATED THE TIRES THAT WERE INITIALLY PLACED ON THE VEHICLE STATED A LIFE SPAN OF 45,000 MILES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 24,000. BLOWER MOTOR NOT WORKING LOW TO MED SPEEDS. BLOWER RESISTOR CONNECTOR AND BLOWER MOTOR DEFECTIVE. THIS IS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT. I HAVE BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP 4 TIMES FOR THIS SAME PROBLEM. I AM VERY CONCERNED FOR ME AND MY FAMILIES SAFETY. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT A POSSIBLE FIRE BECAUSE OF THE BLOWER MOTOR NOT WORKING CORRECTLY. THE PROBLEM FIRST OCCURRED AT 4,900 MILES. THE INSTRUMENT LIGHTS ON MY NEW 2009 CHEVROLET AVEO DO NOT WORK. THE FUSE IS FINE BUT IT APPEARS TO BE A BURNT CONNECTOR IN THE ENGINE FUSE BOX. I HAVE READ ONLINE THAT HUNDREDS OF AVEOS HAVE HAD THE IDENTICAL PROBLEM. THANK YOU. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE REPLICATED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND OFFERED TO PAY A PORTION OF THE REPAIR COST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 200.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET AVEO. WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT A SLOW SPEED, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN. THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY ARE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED SINCE THEY WERE DRIVING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY, WHICH WAS ON AN INCLINE. THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE AFTER TAKING HER FOOT OFF OF THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. DRIVING ON INTERSTATE HIGHWAY IN OUR NEW 2009 CHEVROLET AVEO. IT HAS AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER JUMPED OR WAS SLIGHTLY BUMPED (ALTHOUGH I DON'T RECALL BUMPING IT) FROM DRIVE INTO NEUTRAL AT 65 MPH. FORTUNATELY ABLE TO MAKE IT TO SHOULDER TO RETURN TO DRIVE POSITION (DIDN'T KNOW IF GOING FROM NEUTRAL TO DRIVE AT HIGH SPEED WOULD HAVE CAUSED DAMAGE). REPORTED PROBLEM TO AUTO DEALER WHO SAID THE TRANSMISSION IS NORMAL, DOES SAME THING ON COBALT MODEL! NOTE: WE CAN PUSH SHIFTER FROM DRIVE INTO NEUTRAL AT ANY SPEED WITHOUT DEPRESSING THE BUTTON ON THE SHIFTER. HAS ONLY HAPPENED ONE TIME SO FAR. *TR
MY MOTHER SWERVED TO KEEP FROM HITTING A VEHICLE ENTERING THE HIGHWAY. SHE ENDED UP IN THE ONCOMING TRAFFIC LANE. HER CAR WAS HIT BY A PICK UP TRUCK, SPUN AND WAS HIT AGAIN BY THE TRUCK. TRAFFIC WAS NOT HEAVY AND IT WAS ON A RURAL ROAD. HER AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY IN SPITE OF MULTIPLE STRIKES. WE WILL NEVER KNOW IF HER CAR CUT OFF DUE TO AN IGNITION PROBLEM OR IT WAS FAULTY AIR BAGS. SHE SUSTAINED CATASTROPHIC INJURIES INCLUDING A BROKEN NECK, BROKEN BACK, BROKEN WRISTS, BROKEN PELVIS, BROKEN LEG, BROKEN RIBS AND CHEST INJURIES. SHE WAS AIR LIFTED TO A TRAUMA CENTER. SHE DIED ON 6/9/09. THE AIR BAGS NEVER DEPLOYED WHICH COULD HAVE HELPED REDUCE HER INJURIES. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET AVEO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT GASOLINE WAS LEAKING INTO THE OIL NEAR THE OIL LEVER. WHENEVER SHE CHECKS THE OIL, SHE SMELLS GASOLINE ON THE DIPSTICK. THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WAS NO ISSUE WITH THE DIPSTICK. THE CONTACT HAS TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER TWICE FOR THIS ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,013.
MY STEP DAUGHTER BOUGHT A BRAND NEW AVEO 2009 IS HAS BEEN IN FOR REPAIRS 13 TIMES FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. IT WILL RUN FINE THEN WILL NOT GO OVER 20MPH THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES WHILE SHE IS DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AT 65 MPH HAS ALMOST CAUSED HER AND MY YOUNG GRANDDAUGHTER TO BE INJURED. WHEN SHE STARTS THE CAR THE CLOCK WILL RESET ITS SELF TO 7:23 NO MATTER WHAT TIME IT IS THAT IS USUALLY THE FIRST SIGN IT IS GETTING READY TO TURN INTO A DEATH TRAP. O2 SENSOR HAS BEEN REPLACED CAR IS AGAIN IN SHOP THEY ARE TELLING HER THEY CAN'T FIND ANY PROBLEMS BUT THINK IT COULD BE THE O2 SENSER WANT 600.00 TO REPLACE. HER CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS NOT COME ON. CAR IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRENTY. WE HAVE CONTACTED DEALERSHIP WHERE SHE BOUGHT IT NO HELP FROM THEM. CONTACTED CHEVY ASKING THEM TO ADMIT IT IS A LEMON AND DO THE RIGHT THING NO HELP FROM THEM. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET AVEO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT DUST AND DEBRIS FROM THE ROAD ENTERS THE VEHICLE. THE DUST MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO BREATH AND SEE WHEN DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER IN WHICH A TECHNICIAN STATED THAT BECAUSE THE VENTS ARE LOCATED IN THE WHEEL WELLS, EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS OF DUST CAN ENTER. HE THEN ADDED THAT THERE WAS NO AVAILABLE REMEDY FOR THE FAILURE. SHE CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS ADVISED BY A REPRESENTATIVE THAT BECAUSE THE VEHICLE SITS LOW TO THE GROUND, DUST INTRUSION IS NORMAL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 800. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 2900. UPDATED 10/13/09. *LJ THE CONSUMER RECEIVED A LETTER FROM GM WHICH STATED WHAT SHE WAS EXPERIENCING WAS NORMAL. BY FEDERAL LAW, THE VEHICLE WAS DESIGNED WITH VENTING IN THE TRUNK OVER THE WHEEL WELLS. AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF USE ON DIRT ROADS WOULD ALLOW DUST TO ENTER THE VEHICLE VIA THE TRUNK. IT ALSO STATED THE VEHICLE WAS LOW TO THE GROUND AS WELL WILL ALSO CONTRIBUTED TO THE CONDITION AND THERE WAS NO FACTORY DEFECT WITH THE VEHICLE. UPDATED 10/15/09
GOT THIS CAR BRAND NEW OFF THE LOT WITH ONLY 43 MILES ON IT. AROUND 3000 MILES I HAD MY FIRST MAJOR PROBLEM. I WAS GOING DOWN I-95 IN ST. PAUL, MN AT AROUND 75 MILES/HR AND THE CAR JERKED THEN CUT OFF. MIND YOU THIS IS RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC AND I HAD 2 TODDLERS IN THE CAR WITH ME. WE ALMOST GOT REAR ENDED BY AN 18 WHEELER BEFORE I COULD GET THE CAR TO DRIFT TO SHOULDER. TOOK 3 WEEKS TO FIX THE FUEL PUMP BC THE CAR WAS SO NEW THEY HAD NOT MADE EXTRA PARTS YET. ABOUT A YEAR LATER I STARTED HAVING ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS- ONSTAR NOT WORKING OR RANDOMLY TURNING ON, CLOCK RESETTING ITSELF TO RANDOM TIMES, DASH LIGHTS EITHER GOING OUT OR ALL STAYING ON, HEADLIGHTS RANDOMLY WORKING, AND OF COURSE I TOOK TO 2 DIFFERENT CHEVY DEALERS AND NEITHER COULD TELL ME WHAT WAS WRONG ONLY THAT IT WASN'T COVERED UNDER WARRANTY =/ ONCE THE CAR TURNED 4 YEARS ON IT HAS BEGUN EATING FUSES AND COIL PACKS. THIS IS AFTER THE COIL PACK AND SPARK PLUGS/BOOTS PUT ON BY CHEVY AFTER THAT RECALL. IT IS EATING COIL PACKS EVERY 4-6 MONTHS AND AT 150-200$ A POP IT IS EXPENSIVE ESPECIALLY ONCE YOU FACTOR IN MECHANIC LABOR. I HATE THIS CAR AND WISH I NEVER GOT IT. I MISS MY 96 DODGE CARAVAN WITH THE OIL LEAK AND MANUAL WINDOWS. I FELT MUCH SAFER IN THAT OLD VAN AND IT WAS MORE RELIABLE- IT NEVER LEFT ME EVEN WITH A BLOWN HEAD GASKET. CHEVROLET SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES FOR PUTTING THEIR NAME ON A NOW DEFUNCT POS FOREIGN DAEWOO CRAP AND SELLING IT TO US AS AMERICAN MADE. THERE ISN'T ANYTHING MADE IN NORTH AMERICA. THERE ARE A FEW PARTS MADE IN MEXICO BUT MOST ARE KOREAN MADE. I WOULD NEVER HAVE GOTTEN IT IF I HAD GLIMPSED THOSE DAEWOO STAMPS UNDER THE HOOD, TRUNK, AND CAR JAMS. *TR

CAR WAS IN SHOP FOR ABOUT A WEEK OR TWO FIRST WAS TOLD IT WAS CATALYTIC CONVERTER STOPPED UP THEN WAS TOLD IT WAS SOMETHING WITH THE MOTOR PARTS WAS ORDER AND PROBLEM WAS FIX THEN ABOUT A WEEK LATER BLOWER MOTOR WENT OUT TWICE DEALERSHIP DIDN'T KNOW WHAT WAS WRONG WITH IT SO THEY REPLACED BLOWER MOTOR TWICE AND CIGARETTE LIGHT BLEW OUT FUSES TWICE AS WELL. CAR HAS BLOWN OUT 3 HEADLIGHT BULBS WAS TOLD THERE IS A SHORT IN THE SWITCH OR SOMEWHERE BUT DEALER DON'T WANNA LOOK FOR THE PROBLEM, MOTOR IS TAPPING LOUDLY LIKE ITS NOT GETTING OIL TO THE LIFTER WAS TOLD TWO TIMES BY TWO DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS THAT THE MOTOR IS SUPPOSE TO TAP BUT WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE THE MOTOR WAS QUIET I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC AND WAS TOLD IT WAS THE LIFTERS AND THERE'S A PROBLEM WITH THE MOTOR ALSO OIL IS ALL OVER THE TOP OF THE MOTOR AROUND THE CAP WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER THIS IS A NORMAL PROBLEM THEY ARE HAVING TO MANY EXCUSES TO NOT FIX THE VEHICLE. THERE IS ANOTHER NOISE THAT STARTS WHEN YOU FIRST START UP THE VEHICLE AND DEALERSHIP IS DEAF EAR TO THE TAPPING NOISE AND THIS NOISE AS WELL THEY KEPT THE CAR FOR 3 DAYS AND COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE NOISE BUT THE VERY NEXT DAY AFTER I START UP THE VEHICLES YOU HEAR THE NOISE PLAIN AND CLEAR, RATTLING NOISE DEALERSHIP SERVICE MANAGER HEARD THE NOISE FIRST HAND BEFORE AND HE KNOWS THERE'S A ELECTRICAL SHORT HE SAID SO HIMSELF. TIRES ON FRONT AND BACK ARE WEARING UNEVENLY DEALERSHIP SAYS THE ALIGNMENT ON THE VEHICLE IS STRAIGHT HOW IS THAT WHEN IM GOING ON MY THIRD SET OF TIRES NOW AND ITS 2011. DEALERSHIP WHERE PURCHASED VEHICLE FROM SAYS ITS NORMAL TO BE ON 3RD SET OF TIRES ANOTHER DEALERSHIP SAYS ITS NOT IM WORKING WITH THE GM COMPANY TO SEE WHAT THE OUTCOME WILL BE ON THIS VEHICLE. *TR
