VEHICLE WAS STALLING WITHOUT WARNING AND COULD NOT BE RESTARTED UNTIL A MINIMUM OF 30MINUTES HAD ELAPSED. VEHICLE CHECKED BY DEALER WHO DETERMINED ORIGINAL DELCO BATTERY LEAKED THROUGH THE BATTERY TRAY AND DAMAGED THE FUNCTION OF THE VEHICLE'S COMPUTER. TS CONSUMER STATED THE ENGINE STILLS SHUTS OFF AT TIMES. THE THROW-OUT BEARINGS WERE NOISY. THE DASH LIGHTS BECOME VERY HOT AFTER VEHICLE HAS WARMED UP. DOOR ON FUEL TANK RATTLES WHEN MOVING. *TT *JB
DT: CONSUMER OWNED A 2001 CHEVROLET BLAZER WHICH HE PURCHASED IN JANUARY 2002. THE VEHICLE STALLED SIX TIMES IN 2002, TWO TIMES IN 2004, AND TWO TIMES ON JULY 21, 2005. THE VEHICLE WAS NEVER TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THIS PROBLEM. ALSO, THE CONSUMER HAS NOT CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER. THIS HAPPENED AT ANY SPEED. THE VEHICLE DID NOT ALWAYS START RIGHT UP. THE PROBLEM WAS MORE PERSISTENT IN THE SUMMER. *AK *NM
CONSUMER STATES THAT WHEN HIT AT 40MPH IN THE FRONT CENTER OF THE VEHICLE THE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. DEALER NOTIFIED. NLM
WHILE DRIVING AT 35MPH AND WITH NO WARNING WHEN VEHICLE WAS HIT IN FRONT CENTER AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. DEALER NOTIFIED.*AK
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 CHEVROLET BLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE STOPPED AT A LIGHT, ANOTHER MOTORIST INFORMED HIM THAT THE BRAKE LIGHTS WERE NOT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER TO BE REPAIRED UNDER THE RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 08V231000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING:BRAKE LIGHTS:SWITCH). AFTER THE REPAIRS, THE FAILURE OCCURRED A SECOND TIME. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTICS AND REPAIR. THE CONTACT WAS NOT AWARE OF THE REPAIRS THAT WERE PERFORMED, BUT BELIEVED THE HAZARD SWITCH CARRIER WAS REPLACED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000.
TRUCK WAS A LITTLE OVER ITS WARRANTY AT 36,000 MILES. CONTACTED CHEVROLET DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THE CURRENT PROBLEM WAS "COMMON" WITH BLAZERS. THE DEALER SAID I SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. NOW I'M LOOKING AT A CHARGE OF $540 ON A NEW VEHICLE BECAUSE I DIDN'T BUY THE 50,000 MILE WARRANTY. DOES THIS SOUND LIKE GOOD COUSTOMER TREATMENT? - "SCREWED" . MR

ON 07/10/02 AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON. VEHICLE WAS CHECKED BY DEALER ON 07/17/02, WHO READ INTERNAL CODES, AND ADVISED THERE WAS NO PROBLEM. ON 07/22/02, VEHICLE WAS IDLING ,AND BOTH DRIVER'S AND PASSENGER'S AIRBAGS DEPLOYED WITHOUT WARNING. CONSUMER WAS NOT IN VEHICLE WHEN INCIDENT OCCURRED.*AK

COOLANT LEVEL LIGHT CAME ON AND STAYED ON DUE TO A COOLANT LEAK AROUND INTAKE MANIFOLD. DEALER CONTACTED.*AK
I HAVE AT LEAST 1 FRIEND WHOSE GENERAL MOTORS VEHICLE HAD THE SAME FAILURE WITH THE WHEEL HUB ASSEMBLY AT SIMILAR LOW MILEAGE. WHEEL BEARINGS ON A NEW VEHICLE SHOULD LAST LONGER THAN 37,000 MILES. I BELIEVE THIS IS GENERAL MOTORS/CHEVROLET DEFECT.*AK

EQUIPMENT CARRIER SPARE TIRE DOESN'T STAY LOCKED, AND SPARE TIRE FALLS OUT. CONTACTED DEALER.*AK
THE 4 WAYS DO NOT WORK AND ARE EFFECTED BY THE SAME COMPONENTS AS THE BRAKE LIGHTS. SINCE THE BRAKE LIGHTS SOMETIMES WORK BUT MOST OF THE TIME DO NOT, THE DEALERSHIP WILL NOT REPLACE THESE LIGHTS. THE DEALERSHIP STATED THAT THEY WORKED TODAY WHEN THEY CHECKED THEM OUT AND SAID THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THIS PARTICULAR PART. MY CONCERN IS MY FAMILY GETTING REAR-ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE OR ME GETTING PULLED OVER BY A POLICE OFFICER AND GETTING A TICKET. THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM THAT COULD POSSIBLY AFFECT OTHER PEOPLE AS WELL AS MY PASSENGERS.*AK

DEALER INFORMED CONSUMER THAT THIS VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER RECALL DUE TO VIN. *AK CONSUMER WAS REARENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE, THE OTHER DRIVER STATED THAT HE DID NOT SEE CONSUMERS BRAKE LIGHTS, CONSUMER WAS CHARGED TO HAVE THE RECALLED PART REPLACED. *SLC
HAZARD LIGHT SWITCH HAD SHORTED OUT. VEHICLE HAD NO WORKING BRAKE AND TURN SIGNALS, THEY HAD TO BE REPLACED. THERE IS RECALL 01V364000 CONCERNING MULTI-FUNCTION SWITCH FAILURE, BUT THIS VEHICLE IS NOT AFFECTED.*AK
WHILE DRIVING ABS FUNCTION POORLY. *AK VEHICLE IS EXPERIENCING MULTI-FUNCTION SWITCH ASSEMBLY PROBLEM WHICH CAUSED LOSS OF HAZARD LIGHTS, BRAKE LIGHTS, TURN SIGNAL LIGHTS AND HAZARD LIGHTS. CONSUMER IS STATING THAT THE VEHICLE HAD A RECALL, # 01V364000, WHEN HE CALLED CHEVROLET CORPORATION, THEY TOLD HIM THAT THE COST WOULD BE COVERED BUT DEALER SAID NO. CONSUMER IS LOOKING FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF $362.92. *YD
WHILE DRIVING, BRAKES AND HAZARD LIGHTS WENT OUT WITH NO WARNING. CAUSE UNKNOWN. *AK CONSUMER FOUND THAT THE VEHICLE HAD A RECALL ON HAZARD AND BREAK LIGHTS, NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 01V364000 AND 01V364000, DEALER WILL NOT HONOR THE RECALL AND CONSUMER HAD TO PAY $362.91 FOR THE REPAIR. I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE IN 4/01 AND SEVEN MONTHS LATER I BEGAN EXPERIENCING A HOST OF PROBLEMS WITH MY VEHICLE, STARTING WITH MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH WORN, THEN HOOD HINGES WORN, EXHAUST (MUFFLER BROKEN) RIGHT SPEAKER INOPERABLE, LEFT FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER BROKEN, GRILL ASSEMBLY LOOSE, BRAKE PEDAL BROKEN AND FINALLY TRANSMISSION FAILURE (NEEDS REPLACING). I HAVE DONE A BIT OF INQUIRING TO OTHER CHEVY BLAZER OWNERS AND FOUND OUT THAT THEY HAVE OR HAD EXPERIENCE SOME IF NOT ALL OF THE SAME PROBLEMS THAT I AM EXPERIENCING NOW. I AM HEREBY RESPECTFULLY REQUESTING YOUR ASSISTANCE IN RECTIFYING THIS COMPLAINT. I DON'T THINK THAT AFTER 11MTHS OF PURCHASING MY VEHICLE I SHOULD BE NEEDING MY TRANSMISSION REPLACE. FROM PASSED EXPERIENCED WITH REPLACING A TRANSMISSION ON MY WIFE NEW VEHICLE (MAZDA MX3) BACK IN 1992 IT HAS NEVER BEEN THE SAME. WE HAD BEEN HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS AND MORE WITH IT. WE WERE ABLE TO ACTUALLY GET ANOTHER VEHICLE AND THE SAME PROBLEM KEEP OCCURING . AFTER THAT LONG AND TIRING EXPERIENCE WITH MY WIFE'S CAR I NOW THAT THIS WON'T BE NO DIFFERENT. I HAVE PURCHASED A LEMON AND I NEED TO KNOW WHAT RECOURSE I CAN TAKE TO INSURE THAT I WOULD NOT BE STUCK WITH A VEHICLE THAT WOULD BE COSTING ME MORE TO HAVE IT CONSTANTLY FIXED AND REPLACE. MY DAUGHTER WAS IN A CAR CRASH. UNFORTUNATELY MY DAUGHTER WAS AT FAULT. SHE WAS GOING 55 MPH AND HIT A CAR THAT WAS STOPPED AT A LIGHT HER AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. SHE HAS NECK AND BACK PAINS. *JB
BRAKE LIGHTS WILL NOT WORK WHEN APPLYING BRAKES. BULBS AND FUSES ARE ALL OK, HAZARD FLASHER WHEN FLASHING CAUSES AN ELECTRICAL STATIC SOUND UNDER DASH AND WHEN WIGGLING THE HAZARD FLASHER SWITCH, BRAKE LIGHTS WILL WORK AND COME ON. I ALSO OWN A 1996 CHEVROLET BLAZER THAT HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AND WAS REPAIRED AT BOB HOOK CHEVROLET 09/07/99 INVOICE NO. 156312. VERY LITTLE CHANCE THAT I OWN TWO OF THE SAME VEHICLES FIVE YEARS APART AND SAME DEFECT HAPPENS TO BOTH. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY PROBLEM THAT NEEDS TO BE RECALLED BEFORE ACCIDENTS OCCUR BECAUSE THE VEHICLE BEHIND DIDN'T SEE VEHICLE IN FRONT STOP. I AM NOT ONLY CONCERNED ABOUT MY FAMILY BEING SAFE BUT FOR THE SAFETY OF OTHERS! WHY WOULD THE DEALER SERVICE SHOP TELL ME THAT THE PART WILL HAVE TO BE ORDERED AND THERE IS A NATIONAL BACK ORDER ON THAT PART BUT TO CONTINUE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE? I HAVE CONTACTED GM. MY 9 YEAR OLD SON UNBUCKLED THE LEFT REAR SEAT BELT (WHERE HE HAD BEEN SEATED) AFTER I PARKED THE VEHICLE IN MY DRIVEWAY. SOMEHOW HE BECAME ENTANGLED IN IT WHEN HE TURNED AROUND IN THE SEAT TO LOOK IN THE CARGO AREA. THE BELT BECAME WRAPPED AROUND HIS STOMACH AS HE STRUGGLED TO FREE HIMSELF, AND BECAUSE THE BELT WOULD NOT RELEASE, BUT KEPT GETTING TIGHTER AND TIGHTER, THERE WAS NO WAY TO GET HIM OUT OF IT . I HAD TO GET MY SEWING SCISSORS TO CUT HIM FREE AS THE BELT WOULDN'T GIVE US ANY SLACK, BUT KEPT REELING IN , GETTING TIGHTER AND TIGHTER. I'M CONCERNED THAT SOME CHILD MAY GET ONE OF THESE BELTS WRAPPED AROUND HIS NECK. ONCE THE UNBUCKLED BELT IS REELED IN, IT WON'T GIVE ANY SLACK UNTIL IT GOES ALL THE WAY IN. IF SOMEONE GETS ENTANGLED, AND THERE ISN'T A KNIFE OR SCISSORS HANDY, I'M AFRAID THERE WILL BE A FATALITY.*AK
ON 11/20/01 I PRESSED BRAKE PEDAL TO FLOOR BUT MY BRAKES FAILED CAUSING MY VEHICLE TO BUMP A VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME (BUMPED VEHICLE AT VERY SLOW SPEED DUE TO HEAVY STOP AND GO TRAFFIC). I INITIALLY THOUGHT THAT MY FOOT MERELY SLIPPED OFF THE BRAKE PEDAL AS AFTER THE INCIDENT MY BRAKES WORKED PROPERLY. HOWEVER, ON THE FOLLOWING DAY (11/21/01) MY BRAKES FAILED A SECOND TIME. I HAD TO SWERVE ONTO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD IN ORDER TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT AND WAS FINALLY ABLE TO GET MY VEHICLE STOPPED. AFTER A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME, MY BRAKES WERE OPERATIONAL AGAIN. AT THAT POINT, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE CLOSEST CHEVY DEALERSHIP (HERITAGE AUTO PLAZA IN ALEXANDRIA, VA) WHERE IT REMAINS AS OF 10:05 A.M. ON 11/26/01. *AK
BOTH THE BRAKE LIGHTS AND TURN SIGNALS SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING. WHEN I TOOK THE CAR INTO THE DEALER, THEY INFORMED ME IMMEDIATELY THAT THIS PROBLEM WAS OCCURRING ON MANY SIMILAR VEHICLES. THEY CONFIRMED THAT THE PROBLEM WAS CAUSED BY THE FAILURE OF THE "MULTI FUNCTION SWITCH". IN FACT, THIS PROBLEM WAS SO WIDE SPREAD, THE PART WAS ON "NATIONAL BACKORDER" AND WOULD NOT BE AVIALABLE 10 DAYS TO TWO WEEKS. IT APPEARS THAT GENERAL MOTORS DOES NOT THINK THAT THOUSANDS OF CARS DIRVING AROUND WITHOUT BRAKE LIGHTS OR TURN SIGNALS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM. *AK

I WENT TO HAVE MY CAR INSPECTED WHEN I WAS INFORMED THAT I HAD NO BRAKE LIGHTS. THE STATION WHERE I GOT THE INSPECTION TOLD ME THIS WAS NOT THE ONLY GM CAR THEY HAD SEEN WITH THIS PROBLEM. THEY TOLD ME THEY HAD SEEN THIS AFEW TIMES IN THELAST MONTH. I WENT TO MY DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME I NEEDED A MULTI FUNCTION SWITCH. I CALLED GM TO FORM A COMPLAINT BECAUSE THERE IS NO TELLING HOW LONG THIS HAD BEEN LIKE THIS. [XXX] AT GM TOLD ME THAT THEY HAD FAILURES IN THIS SWITCH AND THEY WERE LOOKING FOR A MORE DEPENDABLE SOURCE. I COULDN'T EVEN GET A SWITCH FOR A WEEK BECAUSE OF THIS . DRIVING WITH NO BRAKE LIGHTS COULD BE A POTENTIALLY HAZARDOUS SITUATION. I'M REPORTING THIS SO SOMEONE DOESN'T LOOSE THEIR LIFE OVER THESE DEFECTIVE SWITCHES. FUEL GAUGE FLUCTUATES BETWEEN EMPTY AND 1/3 FULL WITHOUT WARNING. THIS HAPPENS IN PARK AND WHEN DRIVING. YOU NEVER KNOW HOW MUCH GAS YOU HAVE. I HAVE SEEN IT DROP FORM 1/4 FULL TO COMPLETELY EMPTY IN SECONDS. I HAVE RUN OUT OF GAS ON WAY TO WORK WHEN GAS GAUGE SAID 1/4 FULL WHEN I STARTED OFF TO WORK, ONLY A COUPLE OF MILES AWAY. DURING OPERATION OF VEHICLE, AND UPON APPLYING BRAKES, VEHICLE WAS REAR-ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH. DRIVER WAS TEMPORARILY KNOCKED UNCONSCIOUS AND EXAMINED BY MEDICAL PERSONNEL. WHEN DEALERSHIP EXAMINED VEHICLE IT WAS DETERMINED THE CLUSTER MODULE FAILED, PREVENTING BRAKE LIGHTS FROM ACTIVATING. WHILE DRIVING AND APPLYING THE BRAKES ABRUPTLY THE WHEELS LOCKED UP BRIEFLY AND VEHICLE BEGAN TO FISH TAIL, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND TAKEN FOR A TEST DRIVE, WHILE THE SERVICE MANAGER WAS DRIVING THE PROBLEM REOCCURED WHILE BRAKING, UPON INSPECTION THE CONSUMER WAS TOLD THAT THE BRAKES WERE WORKING PROPERLY.
