GM HAS STATED THAT THERE IS NO FIX FOR MIRROR MEMORY FAILURES, THAT AUTO MODE ON TEMP CONTROL ONLY APPLIES TO AIR CONDITIONING MODE AND THERE IS TO BE NO FIX.
CONSUMER HAS CONTACTED DEALER IN REGARD TO THE DEFECT IN DOORS. WHEN ATTEMPTING TO UNLOCK THE DOORS, HATCH LOCATED IN REAR OF VEHICLE UNLOCKS AS WELL. CONSUMER FEELS THIS IS A DANGEROUS FEATURE ON VEHICLE. *AK CONSUMER STATED THE REAR HATCH UNLOCKS ANYTIME THE DRIVERS DOOR UNLOCKS, CONSUMER STATED IT DOES NOT MATTER IF THE MANUAL DOOR LOCKS ARE BEING USED. *JB
WHILE DRIVING 55MPH WITH CRUISE CONTROL OFF VEHICLE ACCELERATED SUDDENLY AND UNEXPECTEDLY, HOWEVER VEHICLE STOPPED WHEN OIL PRESSURE DROPPED, CAUSING VEHICLE TO STALL, DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED, AND WILL INSPECT VEHICLE.*AK IT WAS DETERMINED THAT FOREIGN DEBIS FROM THE FACTORY WAS INSIDE THE ENGINE, THE DEALER CLEANED THROTTLE BODY.*JB
EVER SINCE I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT TROUBLE WITH IT. SINCE I HAVE BOUGHT IT IN JULY IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP FOR APPROX. 10 TIMES. THE FIRST DAY I BROUGHT IT HOME IT WOULD NOT GO INTO REVERSE. NEEDLESS TO SAY IT ALREADY HAS A NEW TRANSMISSION. I HAVE ALSO HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE REAR MIDDLE SEAT BELT LOCKING UP AND MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO WEAR. I HAVE BROUGT THIS PROBLEM UP TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY HAVE EVEN REPLACED ALL OF THE SEAT BELTS, BUT IT STILL PERSISTS. I HAVE NOW BEEN TOLD THAT IT IS BECAUSE OF INFANT SEATS, HOWEVER HOW CAN THIS VEHICLE BE SUITED FOR FIVE PASSENGERS WHEN IN REALITY IT CAN ONLY HOLD FOUR. ANOTHER PROBLEM I HAVE HAD WITH THIS VEHICLE IS THE HEATER BLOWER FAILED TO WORK. I BROUGHT MY VEHICLE BACK TO THE SHOP AND THEY REPLACED IT. I HAVE ALSO HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE 4WD SYSTEM SWITCHING BETWEEN 2HI. THE DEALER HAS INSTALLED A NEW SWITCH AS WELL, SO THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN SOLVED. ONE OF MY NEWEST CONCERNS IS RANDOMLY WHEN I START THE VEHICLE IN THE MORNING THE ENGINE REVS UP REALLY LOUD. THE LOUD NOISE GETS EVEN LOUDER WHEN YOU ACCELERATE THE VEHICLE. WHEN BRINGING IN THIS PROBLEM TO THE SHOP THEY SAID THAT IT IS THE FAN CLUTCH AND THAT IT IS NORMAL. I FIND THIS HARD TO BELIEVE. PEOPLE THAT HEAR THE NOISE ARE IN DISBELIEF THAT A NEW VEHICLE CAN MAKE SUCH A NOISE. I ALSO AM HAVING A CONCERN WITH SQUEAKY BREAKS IN THE FRONT END. THE SHOP STATES THAT SEMIMETALLIC BRAKES WILL MAKE SOME NOISE AT TIMES. IN ALL OF THE CARS I HAVE OWNED I WOULD HAVE NEVER THOUGHT THAT A 2002 WOULD HAVE SQUEAKY BRAKES AND THAT IT WOULD BE NORMAL AND UNABLE TO FIX. I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THIS VEHICLE AND I QUESTION HOW RELIABLE AND SAFE WE ARE DRIVING IT. GM WILL NOT HELP ME IN REPLACING THIS VEHICLE SO I GUESS MY NEXT STEP IS THE ATTORNEY GENERAL. *AK
GAGE PACKAGE (WATER TEMP, FUEL, OIL PRESSURE, BATTERY AMPS) OCCASIONALLY GIVE HIGHER FALSE READNGS AND STICKS. READINGS DO NOT RESET TO ZERO AS WITH NORMAL STARTING OF THE TRUCK. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AS IT PREOCCUPIES AND MAY OVERLY CONCERN THE DRIVER WITH A FALSE CONDITION OF THE VEHICLE.*AK

WITH 1 REAR WINDOW OPEN (3 OTHERS CLOSED), @ HIGHWAY SPEEDS, LOW FREQUENCY BUFFETING IN PASSENGER COMPARTMENT, ESPECIALLY BAD WHEN DRIVING ALONG A WALL. ENOUGH AMPLITUDE TO CAUSE DIS-ORIENTATION AND LOC. CHEVROLET ADMITS DESIGN FLAW, CHEVY OPEN CASE # C04984282. *AK
TRANSMISSION IS DEFECTIVE, IT TAKES MORE CLICKS TO GET TO DRIVE THEN IT WOULD IN ANY OTHER VEHICLE. *AK *SLC
VEHICLE HAS A ENGINE/DRIVETRAIN VIBRATION THAT CAN BE HEARD AND FELT THROUGHOUT THE CABIN AT SPEEDS OF 58-62 MPH. THE VIBRATION CYCLES ON AND OFF CONSTANTLY, BEING ON FOR 1-2 SEC AND THEN OFF FOR 3-5 SEC. WE FEAR EVENTUAL ENGINE/DRIVETRAIN FAILURE, ESPECIALLY AFTER FRONT SUSPENSION RECALL AND TRANSFER CASE RECALLS. GM UNSURE OF CAUSE, BUT SAID IT IS HAPPENING ON NUMEROUS TRAILBLAZERS WITH NO FIX YET BUT FEEL IT IS RELATED TO ENGINE HARMONIC BALANCE. A FRIEND OF OURS LOST THE #5 PISTON ON THEIR ENGINE WHILE PASSING, NEARLY CAUSING A SEVERE ACCIDENT. LOCAL DEALERS CONFIRM SEVERAL OTHER ENGINES IN 2002 TRAILBLAZERS HAVE BLOWN - WONDERING IF THESE PROBLEMS ARE RELATED. OUR VIBRATION/NOISE PROBLEM MAKES US VERY UNEASY IN TERMS OF FAMILY SAFETY WHILE INSIDE OUR NEW VEHICLE AT THESE HIGHWAY SPEEDS.*AK
PAINT IS PEELING BETWEEN AT THE OUTER EDGES AT THE LICENSE PLATE HOUSING, WHERE IT COMES IN CONTACT WITH THE LIFT GATE. GRAY PRIMER IS ALREADY EXPOSED. I HAVE INSPECTED 2002 TRAIL BLAZERS AND ENVOYS THROUGHOUT THE STATE AND SURROUNIDNG STATES AND ALL REVEAL THE SAME PROBLEM. OWNERS NEED TO BE AWARE OF THIS SITUATION DUE TO PREMATURE RUST ON THE LIFT GATE. IT IS SAD THAT A BRAND NEW VEHICLE HAS A PAINT PROBLEM, BEFORE IT IS EVEN DRIVEN FROM THE LOT AND GM WANTS TO PAINT THE LOWER EXTERIOR OF THE LIFT GATE AND I FEEL THE COMPLETE LEFT GATE SHOULD BE STRIPPED AND REFINISHED.*AK

DEALER HAD TAKEN VEHICLE BACK DUE TO A MANUFACTURER'S RECALL. MANUFACTURER TOLD CONSUMER THAT DEALER HAS PART TO REPAIR LOWER CONTROL ARM BRACKET. BUT DEALER HAS NOT REPAIRED IT, AND RETURN VEHICLE TO CONSUMER.*AK
CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF GM CHEVROLET VEHICLES, 2002 CHEVROLET BLAZER HAD DEFECTIVE BALL JOINTS, INQUIRING WHY GM WILL NOT ADDRESS THE PROBLEM OF THIS KNOWN DEFECT.**CC *JB
FRONT PASSENGER'S SIDE SEATBELT SYSTEM LOCKS UP AS IF AN AUTOMATIC LOCKING RESTRAINT. OWNER'S MANUAL STATE'S THAT THIS BELT IS USED FOR A CHILD RESTRAINT. NO OTHER SEATBELTS IN THIS VEHICLE LOCKS UP LIKE THE FRONT SEATBELT DOES. ALSO, THERE IS AN AIRBAG PRESENT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SIDE.*AK
POWER MEMORY OUTSIDE MIRRORS MOVE ON THEIR OWN TO POSITIONS OUTSIDE DRIVER'S FIELD OF VISION. MIRRORS TILT DOWN IN REVERSE BUT FAIL TO RETURN TO PREVIOUS POSITION WHEN VEHICLE IS TAKEN OUT OF REVERSE. DEALER CONTACTED TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AT GENERAL MOTORS WHO SUGGESTED TO REBUILD BODY CONTROL MODULE -- DID NOT CORRECT PROBLEM. TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE REPORTS 4 SIMILAR DEFECTS WITH THE SAME VEHICLE AND STATES MAY BE PROBLEM WITH THE AMOUNT OF MEMORY ALLOTED TO MIRRORS. TAN CASE #5205486. THE FIRST PROBLEM IS THAT OUR CAR WAS NOT FULLY PAINTED, YOU CAN SEE THAT PRIMER IN LARGE AREAS ALL OVER THAT BODY OF THE CAR. SECOND PROBLEM IS THE BACK CARGO DOOR WILL NOT LOCK. THIRD PROBLEM IS THE ELECTRONIC SETS ON DRIVER AND ON PASSENGER SIDE WILL NOT MOVE AND ARE STUCK IN THE SAME POSITION, ALSO SEAT WARMERS DO NOT WORK. THE FIFTH PROBLEM IS THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS LEAKING FLUID.

RACK AND PINION STEERING IS VERY SLOW AND UNRESPONSIVE - A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN- IT IS DIFFICULT TO QUICKLY STEER TO AVOID A PERSON OR OBJECT IN ROADWAY- TURNINTG CORNERS REQUIRES AND EXCESS AMOUNT OF STEERING WHEEL TURNING ESPECIALLY FOR WOMEN - UNDER STEERING IS DANGEROUS
FOUR-WHEEL DRIVE IS INOPERABLE DUE TO A MALFUNCTION WITH IN TRANSFER CASE CONTROL MODULE.*AK
POWER MIRRORS HAVE EXPERIENCED REPEAT FAILURES WHERE THEY WOULD MOVE THEMSELVES. DEALER DETERMINED MIRROR ACTUATORS WERE FLAWED IN DESIGNED. NEW DESIGN ACTUATORS INSTALLED. PROBLEM STILL RECURRS, THOUGH LESS OFTEN.
THE SEAT BACKS ARE MUCH TOO HIGH AND WIDE ALLOW FOR CLEAR VISION TO SIDE AND REAR. BLOCKED VISION WHEN CHECKING BLIND SPOT TO CHANGE LANES HAS CAUSED SEVERAL NEAR MISSES WHICH COULD EASILY HAVE BEEN COLLISIONS AT HIGHWAY SPEED. THIS IS CLEARLY A SAFETY PROBLEM WITH THE POTENTIAL TO CAUSE INJURY OR DEATH. THE MANUFACTURER HAS CLAIMED IT IS A DESIGN ISSUE AND NOT A MANUFACTURING FLAW AND HAS DENIED ANY ACTION. THAT WON'T BE MUCH OF AN ANWER WHEN MY 3 MONTH OLD AND 3 YEAR OLD DAUGHTERS AND THEIR MOTHER ARE KILLED OR INJURED IN AN ACCIDENT CAUSED BY THIS POOR DESIGN.*AK
I HAD PUCHASED THIS VEHICLE NEW FROM AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. WITHIN A FEW MONTHS OF PURCHASE I HAD NOTICED THAT THE GAS MILEAGE WASN'T CLOSE TO THE ESTIMATED MPG WHICH WAS 15 CITY AND 17 HIGHWAY. I WAS GETTING ANYWHERE FROM 9.4 MPG TO 10.5 MPG WITH AVERAGE DRIVING. I HAD ALSO NOTICED THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SLIPPING. WITH THESE TWO MAJOR PROBLEMS I HAD BROUGHT THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER FROM WHICH I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AND REPORTED THE PROBLEMS. THEY WHERE NO HELP. THEY INSISTED THAT IT WAS THE WAY THAT I WAS DRIVING RATHER THAN THE VEHCILE HAVING DEFECTIVE PARTS. I AM VERY UNSATISFIED WITH THE PRODUCT AND THE GM COMPANY. DT

CONSUMER CALLED COMPLAINING ABOUT HAVING PROBLEMS WITH A REAL LOUD NOISE ON THE FRONT SUSPENSION AREA. DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THEY LUBRICATOR AND THE PROBLEM STILL THERE THIS WILL ACTUALLY MAKE IT THE 6TH TIME IT IS ACTUALLY AT THE SHOP. TS
WHEN BRAKING PEDAL GOES TO THE FLOOR, CAUSING EXTENDED STOPPING. PH
THE POWER DOOR LOCKS WOULD LOCK ON ITS OWN WHEN VEHICLE HAS BEEN STARTED. THE POWER DOOR LOCKS NOT SUPPOSE TO LOCK UNTIL THE GEARS HAVE BEEN LOCKED. HAVE TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP. MECHANIC COULD NOT LOCATE CAUSED OF PROBLEM. TS

CONSUMER STATES THAT LUG WRENCH THAT IS LOCATED BETWEEN THE PASSENGER'S FRONT REAR SEAT HAS A LONG PIECE OF IRON STICKING OUT THAT CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS. THE WRENCH BECAME DETACHED, AND WAS FLYING AROUND IN VEHICLE LIKE A BULLET. *AK
CONSUMER STATES "LOST CONTROL OF VEHICLE WHILE TRYING AVOID HITTING ANOTHER CAR. VEHICLEL FLIPPED 7 TIMES BEFORE LANDING IN A DITCH. UPON IMPACT, AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. *AK
THE DEFROSTER HAS BEEN FIXED SIX TIMES. WHEN THE DEFROSTER IS NOT OPERATING IT CAUSES POOR VISIBILITY THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD.*AK
CONSUMER STATES THERE IS A 20 INCH LONG PANEL BETWEEN THE BACK SEAT THAT IS OBSTRUCTING VIEW OUT OF REAR WINDSHIELD AND REAR-VIEW MIRROR WHEN DRIVING IN REVERSE. CONSUMER HAS TO STICK HEAD OF OUT WINDOW AND LOOK BACKWARDS IN ORDER TO SEE COMPLETELY.
CONSUMER STATES THAT VEHICLE'S MANUFACTURER INSTALLED TINT IS SO DARK CAN NOT SEE OUT OF REAR WINDSHIELD. VEHICLE IS A 2002 CHEVEROLET BLAZER EXTREME.
WHEN BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AT 20 MPH IT FAILED TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THIS RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE THE VEHICLE RAN THROUGH A STOP SIGN. PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT, WHICH STARTED AT 400 MILES, VEHICLE WOULD EITHER PULL TO THE RIGHT/LEFT WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED. THE CAUSE OF BOTH FAILURES WAS UNDETERMINED.*AK
WHILE TURNING LEFT AT 5 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP, AS RESULT THE CONSUMER HIT A LIGHT POLE, THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED. *JB *JB
WHILE DRIVING CONSUMER HEARD A LOUD SQUEAKING NOISE COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. CONSUMER DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION, AND MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT BOTH BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO WORN OUT PARTS. *AK
