I'VE HAD THE BLAZER FOR ONE YEAR AND THE FUSES KEEP BLOWING TAKING OUT ALL DASH INFORMATION.I'VE HAD IT IN THE SHOP THREE DIFFERENT OCCASIONS SO FAR AND THE MECHANIC CAN'T PIN POINT THE PROBLEM..(IN OTHER WORDS THEY LIKE TO MAKE YOU LOOK AS IF YOUR LYING)MY WARRANTY DOES COVER FOR THEM TO LOOK AT IT.BUT ITS TIME OFF WORK AND INCONVENIENCE THAT IT IS CAUSING THAT DOESN'T SEEM TO MATTER TO THEM..CHEVEROLET DON'T WANT TO WORK OUT ANYTHING TO RESOLVE THIS MATTER..
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE WOULD ACCELERATE WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING. THE CONSUMER HAS MADE CONTACT WITH THE DEALERSHIP. *AK
CONSUMER'S MOTHER IN LAW'S VEHICLE HAD AN ELECTRICAL FIRE AND BURNED UP. FLAMES WERE SHOOTING OUT OF THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR. THE VEHICLE ALSO EXPERIENCED A LOT OF FUSE BLOWOUTS.*AK THE POWER MIRROR SWITCH FAILED AND CAUSED THE FIRE. *TS *NLM
THE VEHICLE HAS A TERRIBLE ODOR, SIMILAR TO MOLD OR MILDEW, THAT BEGAN OVER FOUR MONTHS AGO. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER FIVE TIMES AND TO TWO INDEPENDENT MECHANICS, AND NO ONE HAS BEEN ABLE TO LOCATE THE CAUSE OR FIX THE PROBLEM. *JB
FLUID LEAKED FROM THE VEHICLE, WHICH CAUSED THE TRANSMISSION TO JERK WHEN THE GEARS WERE CHANGED. *JB
THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING, WHICH CAUSED THE CONSUMER TO PULL OVER ABRUPTLY. *JB. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. THE CONSUMER STATED AT ONE POINT TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAKED ONTO THE GROUND. *JB

THE PASSENGER SIDE FLOOR GETS WET WHEN IT RAINS OR WHEN CONSUMER WASH THE VEHICLE. DEALER HAS INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND COULD NOT DUPLICATE OR CORRECT THE PROBLEM. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. PH
FLUCTUATING FUEL GAUGE AND ERRONEOUS READINGS ON QUANTITY. REPAIRED 6 TIMES SINCE 01/03. SINCE REPAIR TO PCM, GAUGE NOW ONLY BOUNCES IN PARK AND NEUTRAL BUT LOCKS ON WHEREVER NEEDLE IS WHEN PUT IN GEAR TO SHOW THAT AMOUNT OF FUEL. ALSO READS DIFFERENT LEVELS UPON START OF ENGINE. *JB
WHILE DRIVING IN A RAIN STORM, THE WINDSHIELD WIPER STOPPED WORKING, CAUSING POOR VISIBILITY FOR THE DRIVER. THIS RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT. THIS ALSO HAPPENED ONCE PRIOR TO THIS ACCIDENT. THE DEALERSHIP IS UNABLE TO FIX PROBLEM. PLEASE PROVIDE MORE DETAILS.TS
VEHICLE WAS AT A COMPLETE STOP, AND WAS HIT ON THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT END BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. NONE OF THE FRONTAL AIRBAGS DEPLOYED UPON IMPACT. THIS RESULTED IN THE DRIVER BEING SERIOUSLY INJURED. PLEASE PROVIDE MORE DETAILS. TS
CONSUMER TOOK HIS VEHICLE FOR TIRE ROTATION, THE TECHNICIAN FOUND THE INNER TIRE ROD WAS WORN OUT PREMATURELY. DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED CASE #1-476-936-39 PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION. PH
AFTER ENGINE HAS WARMED UP, THERE IS A CONSTANT ENGING/TAPPING/RATTLE NOISE SIMILAR TO THE SOUND THAT BAD LIFTERS MAKE. THIS SOUND IS PREVALENT UNDER ALL CONDITIONS AND MORE PRONOUNCED ON ACCELERATION. I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY INDICATED IT WAS A NORMAL SOUND PER DETROIT. DETROIT HAS A DOCUMENT ID#843248 THAT ADDRESSES THIS PROBLEM. I COMPLAINED TO GM AND THEY HAVE EXTENDED THE WARRANTY ON THE ENGINE TO 100,000 MILES OR 11/27/07 WHICHEVER COMES FIRST. I AM STILL NOT SATISFIED AS THE NOISE IS CONSISTENT AND AN IRRITANT. I HAVE LOOKED AT YOUR SITE FOR OTHER SIMILAR COMPLAINTS AND DO NOT SEE ANY. THERE MUST BE A MECHANICAL FIX TO THIS PROBLEM BUT IT IS BEING IGNORED. THE ENGINE SOUND HAS INCREASED SINCE IT WAS FIRST NOTICED INDECEMBER, 2002 AND REPORTED TO THE DEALERSHIP.*AK

MY WIFE AT THAT TIME GOT IN TO AN ACCIDENT IN A CHEVY BLAZER ON NOV 11, 2002, ON EL PASO, TX. WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS LOST DUE TO A STEERING WHEEL LOCK UP. AFTER THE ACCIDENT I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHERE I BUY IT. THE COMPANY DID NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT, THE INSURANCE COMPANY DID NOT PAY THE RIGHT AMOUNT I LOST A LOT OF MONEY IN LAWYERS AND NOTHING WAS SOLVED, JUST ME LOSING MORE MONEY. I WOULD LIKE TO DEMAND COMPENSATION. *NM

IT SOUNDED LIKE TIN CANS WERE TIED TO THE BACK OF OUR 2002 BLAZER TODAY (WITH AROUND 37,000 MILES) - WE WERE TOLD THAT THE EMERGENCY PARKING BRAKE PADS EXPLODED (THE SERVICE MANAGER'S WORD) AND RUINED OUR ROTORS AND REAR BRAKE PADS, IT WILL COST AROUND $1200 TO FIX. *AK

SHOCK ABSORBERS WERE WRONGLY DESIGNED BY MANUFACTURER AND BECAME DEFECTIVE, CAUSING DAMAGE ON BOTH FRONT TIRES. DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED.*AK
POWER TRAIN-TRANSMISSION IS LOUD AND ALMOST IS SLIPPING WHEN GOING INTO 1ST AND 2ND GEAR OF AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. DEALER SAYS OTHERS HAVE SAME COMPLAINT WITH NO FIX AVAILABLE. FAN CLUTCH ENGAGES DUE TO FAULTY SIGNAL FROM SENSOR. ENGINE SOUNDS VERY LOUD WHEN IT ENGAGES. FAN CLUTCH REPLACED ONCE ALREADY BEFORE TAKING DELIVERY OF CAR. ANOTHER DEALER STATES THAT THIS PROBLEM HAS ALSO BEEN PRESENT SINCE 1999 FOR THIS CAR WITH NO FIX AVAILABLE. THERE IS A TSB ON THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEM WITH CAUSE UNKNOWN AND NO AVAILABLE FIX. SEEMS THAT SINCE OTHERS ARE HAVING THIS PROBLEM MANUFACTURER SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE.*AK
CONSUMER STATES THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD STALLS INTERMITTENTLY AT MULIPLE SPEED WITHOUT WARNING. DEALER INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND DETERMIED THE FUEL PUMP IS FAILING. FEEL FREE TO PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION.
CONSUMER STATED THAT WHEN TRYING TO APPLY THE BRAKES THE BRAKE PEDAL WILL GO TO THE FLOOR CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO HAVE EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. DEALER NOTIFIED. TS
STREERING OF MY TRAILER BLAZER IS VAGUE AND NOT RESPONSIVE. THE VEHICLE IS HARD TO CONTROL AT HIGHER RATE OF SPEED, ESPECIALLY AROUND 65MPH. THE REAR SUSPENSION FEEL SOFT AND SLIDES WHEN MAKING QUICK MOVEMENTS LEFT OR RIGHT IN THE STREERING. THE STREERING AT LOWER SPEEDS FEELS SOFT WITH PLAY IN THE CONTROL. OTHER VEHICLES TEST DRIVEN DO NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM. YOU CAN NOTICE THE DIFFERENCE IMMEDIATELY. ON WINDY DAYS THE CAR MOVES CONSTANTLY AND THE STREERING IS DELAYED IN CORRECTING THE PUSH. THE VEHICLE SLIDES TO MUCH BEFORE THE STREERING CORRECTS IT. HENCE THE VAGUE AND DELAYED RESPONSE OF THE STREERING. *AK
CONSUMER STATES THE FUEL GUAGE IS ERRATIC AND HAS UNRELIABLE READINGS. THE VEHICLE IS RUNNING OUT OF GAS AND THE TANK NO LONGER FILLS UP TO ITS CORRECT GALLON. THE CHEVROLET MANUFACTURE IS AWARE AND LOOKING INTO THE PROBLEM. PLEASE PROVIDE MORE INFORMATION.*JB
CONSUMER STATES WHILE DRIVING 55MPH A LOUD NOISE OCCURED AND TRANSMISSION WAS SLIPPING. NLM
CONSUMER NOTICED A LEAK IN FUEL TANK. *AK
VEHICLE COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON HIGHWAY 684 IN NEW YORK AT 65 MPH IN THE LEFT LANE. I HAD NO POWER STEERING, NO ACCELLERATION AND NO POWER BRAKES WITH 3 CHILDREN IN THE CAR.*AK
DURING THE TEST DRIVE AND SUBSEQUENT TO THAT, I EXPERIENCED WHAT I CALL THE FAT FOOT SYNDROME. THAT IS TO SAY, MY FOOT ENGAGED BOTH THE ACCELERATOR AND BRAKE PEDAL AT THE SAME TIME. I WAS STOPPED AND WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO PROCEDE, MY FOOT ENGAGED BOTH PEDALS AT THE SAME TIME. THIS COULD BE CONFUSING TO DRIVERS BEHIND ME AND RESULT IN A COLLISION. IN ADDITION, THIS CONDITION COULD RESULT IN PREMATURE BRAKE LINING WEAR.*AK
I HAVE A 2002 BLAZER. SINCE I HAVE OWNED THE VEHICLE IT HAS PERFORMED UNSATISFACTORILY. THE ENGINE RANDOMLY MAKES ROARING NOISE, THE RPMS RISE AND THERE IS CONCOMITANT LOSS OF POWER. I AM TOLD THIS IS NORMAL AND THAT IT IS RELATED TO THE FAN CLUTCH MOTOR AND A SENSOR THAT WORKS ERRATICALLY. THE FAN CLUTCH HAS BEEN REPLACED ONCE AND THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP SEVERAL TIMES. I HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN SEVERAL NEAR MISSES AS THE VEHICLE DOES NOT PERFORM IN A PREDICTABLE MANNER. CHEVROLET REFUSES TO TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS ISSUE THOUGH I WAS OFFERED $2000.00 TOWARD THE PURCHASE/LEASE OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. IN REVIEWING THIS WEBSITE I NOTE THAT THERE ARE SEVERAL OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND IN ALL CASES GM/CHEVROLET HAS REFUSED TO ACCEPT ANY RESPONSIBILITY. IS THERE NOTHING THAT CAN BE DONE FROM A REGULATORY PERSPECTIVE OR DO WE HAVE TO WAIT FOR ANOTHER CORVAIR/PINTO DEBACLE. *NLM

VEHICLE SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING AND/OR WON'T START FROM TIME TO TIME. ELECTRICAL COMPONENT HAS BEEN REPLACED BUT IT WAS DISCOVERED TO BE THE WRONG PART. IT WAS LATER REPLACED AFTER REAR WIND SHIELD WIPER WOULDN'T START. TO DATE THE PROBLEM HAS REOCCURRED. DT
ORIGINAL CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR REPLACED-- WAS SEEPING OIL AND SATURATING WIRING, CAUSING VEHICLE TO STALL. REPLACEMENT SENSOR IS NOW MALFUNCTIONING IN THE SAME MANNER. DEALER IS REPLACING AGAIN. *AK
NOT LONG AFTER I PURCHASED MY 2002 BLAZER, I STARTED NOTICING THAT AT RANDOM TIMES THE MOTOR WOULD START RACING WHEN I STARTED THE ENGINE. IT RAN VERY LOUD FOR A PERIOD OF TIME AND THEN WOULD FINALLY SLOW DOWN. WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE THIS WOULD ALSO HAPPEN. THE RPMS RAPIDLY INCREASE WHEN ACCELERATING, AND IT WOULD MAKE A LOUD ROARING NOISE, BUT THE VEHICLE DOESN'T GO ANY FASTER. I TOOK IT IN TO THE SHOP AND WAS TOLD THIS WAS NORMAL, THAT IT WAS THE CLUTCH FAN. IT IS EXTREMELY HARD TO BELIEVE THAT THIS IS NORMAL FOR A NEW VEHICLE. I HAVE HAD THE BLAZER SINCE APRIL OF 2002 AND IT CONTINUES TO DO THIS AND HAS SOMETIMES PUT ME IN VERY UNSAFE POSITIONS. THIS PROBLEM SEEMS TO ME TO BE MORE OF A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM THAN A FAN. I HAVE ALSO HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE FUEL GAUGE. IT WILL SHOW EMPTY WHEN IT HAS PLENTY OF GAS. IT HAS SHOWED LOW ON FUEL, AND THEN WHEN I STOP TO GET FUEL, IT WILL NOT TAKE ANY GAS. BUT THEN I HAVE RUN OUT OF GAS RIGHT AFTER TRYING TO PUT SOME IN THE TANK. THE THIRD PROBLEM IS THE LEFT FRONT DOOR HINGE. THE PIN CONTINUOUSLY WORKS OUT OF POSITION AND IT FEELS LIKE THE DOOR IS ABOUT TO FALL OFF AND IT DOESN'T CLOSE PROPERLY AND I HAVE TO HAVE THE PIN KNOCKED BACK INTO POSITION. ALSO, AT THE TIME I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, IT HAD A CASSETTE PLAYER AND THE DEALERSHIP AGREED TO INSTALL A CD PLAYER AS PART OF THE PURCHASE AGREEMENT. THE VEHICLE ALSO HAD OPTIONAL CONTROLS ON THE STEERING WHEEL. WHEN THEY INSTALLED THE CD PLAYER, THE CONTROLS ON THE STEERING WHEEL NO LONGER WORKED. WHEN I ASKED THEM ABOUT THIS, THEY JUST SAID THAT THIS CD PLAYER COULD NOT BE CONTROLLED FROM THE STEERING WHEEL CONTOLS AND LEFT IT AT THAT. I THINK THEY SHOULD HAVE INSTALLED ONE THAT COULD HAVE FUNCTIONED THE SAME AS THE FACTORY INSTALLED EQUIPMENT.
TIE ROD - WHILE DRIVING ON I95 IN VIRGINA YESTERDAY I PULLED INTO A REST STOP. WHILE SLOWING DOWN I HEARD A VERY LOUD GRINDING SOUND. AS I STOPPED THE CAR I HAD NO CONTROL OVER THE STERING. I EXITED THE CAR, LOOKED UNDERNEATH THE FRONT END TO FIND THAT THE DRIVERS SIDE TIE ROD HAD COME LOOSE.ONCE AGAIN AS WITH MY FAILED ENGINE IN THIS CAR I WAS LUCKY THAT THIS HAPPENED WHILE I WAS SLOWING DOWN. IF IT HAPPENED 30 SECONDS BEFORE WHEN I WAS TRAVELING AT 70 MILES AN HOUR OR 30 SECONDS AFTER I LEFT THE REST AREA I WOULD HAVE BEEN IN A SERIOUS, POSSIBLY DEADLY CAR ACCIDENT. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO THE NEARBY CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR. THE MECHANIC THAT INSPECTED AND FIXED THE CAR AND THE SERVICE WRITER BOTH TOLD ME THAT THEY HAVE NEVER SEEN A TIE ROD COME LOOSE. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW IT HAPPENDED TO THIS CAR. RE: WINDOW ONE DAY AFTER RECEIVING THIS CAR BACK FROM THE DEALER WHEN THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED I WAS SITTING AT A RED LIGHT AND THE PASSANGER SIDE REAR WINDOW CLOSED BY ITSELF. I WAS NOT ABLE TO OPEN IT AGAIN THAT DAY HOWEVER I WAS ABLE TO OPEN AND CLOSE IT THE NEXT DAY AND THIS HAS NOT HAPPENED AGAIN. HOWEVER, WHAT CAUSED THIS? AND WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IF A CHILD WAS LEANING OUT THE WINDOW AND THE WINDOW CLOSED ON IT'S OWN AND WOULD NOT RE-OPEN?*AK
BRAKE LIGHTS FAILED DUE TO A FAULTY HAZARD LIGHT SWITCH. CALLED DEALER AND GM AND WAS TOLD "THERE IS NO RECALL FOR VEHICLE BASED ON VIN AND NOT COVERED UNDER RECALL ID # 01V364000". *TR
STEERING ON 2002 BLAZER. *NLM
THE CHEVROLET TRAIL BLAZER HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP TWICE FOR A FUEL LINE DEFECT THAT CAUSED THE ENTIRE CONTENTS OF THE GAS TANK TO VOID ITSELF. THIS BRINGS UP GREAT SAFETY CONCERNS FOR MY FAMILY, AS WELL AS THAT OF THE ENVIRONMENT AND OTHER DRIVERS. I AM WORRIED THAT IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN AND START A FIRE RESULTING IN LOSS OF LIFE.
WHILE DRIVING MY TRAILBLAZER THE ENGINE FAILED AS I WAS STOPING FOR A RED LIGHT. LUCKILY THERE WERE NO CARS NEAR ME AND I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY BRING THE CAR TO A STOP AND FORCE IT TO THE CURB. AFTER ABOUT 15 MINUTES I WAS ABLE TO RE-START THE ENGINE AND I DROVE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY INSPECTED THE CAR, CALLED CHEVROLET WITH THEIR DIAGNOSIS AND WERE IMMEADIATELY INFORMED BY CHEVROLET TO THE AMAZMENT OF THE SERIVCE MANAGER AT THE DEALERSHIP THAT A NEW ENGINE WAS NEEDED. IT SEEMS THEY KNEW THAT A NEW ENGINE WAS NEEDED SO QUICKLY AS THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM. A SEARCH ON YOUR WEB SITE AND THE TRAILBLAZER FORUM AT EDMUNDS.COM SHOWS THAT THIS IS A WIDE SPREAD PROBLEM. IT IS APPARENT THAT GM HAS KNOWINGLY PLACED "DEFECTIVE" ENGINES IN THE 2002 TRAILBLAZER. WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENDED IF MY ENGINE FAILED ON THE HIGHWAY GOING 70 MILES AN HOUR? THE NHTSA MUST ADDRESS THIS SITUATION BEFORE PEOPLE DIE FROM THIS. THIS HAS ALL THE MAKINGS OF ANOTHER FORD PINTO FIASCO.*AK
PASSENGER SEAT BELT LOCKS INTO PLACE WITH LITTLE OR NO PASSENGER MOVEMENT, CANNOT BE RELEASED WITHOUT REMOVING SEATBELT COMPLETELY AND RETRACTING COMPLETELY. ALSO OWN A 2002 OLDSMOBILE BRAVADA SAME PROBLEM ON PASSENGER SIDE RESTRAINT. PASSENGER MUST REMOVE SEAT BELT EVERY FEW MINUTES JUST TO BREATHE OR TUCK SHOULDER STRAP BEHIND THEM. THIS IS A SERIOUS FLAW ON THE PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT ON ALL 2002 BRAVADA'S, TRAILBLAZERS AND ENVOYS. ON THIS OCCASION WE HAD A HEAVY SNOW THAT DAY AND AS I WAS DRIVING ON THE ROAD I SWITCHED TO 4 WHEEL DRIVE. AS I TURNED THE CORNER, THINKING I WAS IN 4 WHEEL DRIVE MY CAR WENT OUT OF CONTROL WHEN IT HIT ICE AND I HIT BOULDERS AND LANDED ON A TREE. EARLIER WHEN WE PURCHASED THE CAR WE NOTICED A LIGHT KEPT COMING ON THAT SAID 4WD. WE CALLED TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT BUT WERE TOLD IT WAS NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT. MY HUSBAND CALLED GM AND COMPLAINED ABOUT THE MALFUNCTION. AFTER MY CAR WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP GM REPS CAME OUT TO SEE IT AND AGREED THERE HAD BEEN A MALFUNCTION IN THE 4WD SYSTEM. THEY CLAIM TO HAVE FIXED IT BUT MY CAR HAS NEVER BEEN THE SAME. I HURT MY NECK BUT SINCE I DON'T HAVE HEALTH INSURANCE NEVER DID GO TO THE DOCTOR. THEY REIMBURSED US $600 FOR THE REPAIR. MY PROBLEM IS WORRYING THAT THERE ARE OTHER VEHICLES OUT THERE THAT COULD HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. IF MINE DID WHY CAN'T THERE BE OTHERS? NEXT TIME SOMEONE COULD GET KILLED. I WAS LUCKY. GM WAS HARD TO DEAL WITH AND I WILL NEVER BUY ONE OF THEIR PRODUCTS AGAIN. I HATE MY CAR BUT CAN'T AFFORD TO GET OUT OF IT.
