5-26-2012: CONVERTIBLE TOP SUPPORT BROKE. FIXED BY DEALER. NOW SEVERE OTHER ISSUES WITH CONVERTIBLE TOP, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE CAR FLOORS FLOODING WHEN IT RAINS, WIND NOISE FROM THE REAR QUARTER GLASS, AND SEVERE "RUB" MARKS FROM THE STRUCTURAL TOP ASSEMBLY. CAR HAS BEEN OUT OF SERVICE FOR 69 DAYS AND AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR OVER 44 DAYS. IT IS STILL AT THE DEALERSHIP. GM/CHEVROLET HAS BEEN NEGLIGENT IN THE HANDLING OF THE REPAIRS, ALONG WITH THE COMPLETE IMPROPER DESIGN OF THE TOP ASSEMBLY. THE DEALER DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO FIX IT AND GM/CHEVROLET HASN'T PROVIDED ENOUGH SUPPORT TO GET THE ISSUES RESOLVED. *TR
I PURCHASED A BRAND NEW 2011 CHEVROLET CAMARO IN MARCH OF 2011 FROM A CHEVROLET DEALER IN GEORGIA. SINCE THAT PURCHASE, THE AIRBAG SERVICE INDICATOR LIGHT/ALERT SYSTEM HAS ACTIVATED THREE (3) TIMES. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE SERVICE CENTER AT THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR ON ALL THREE OCCASIONS FOR REPAIR (04/26/12, 09/8/12 AND 10/5/13). AS OF TODAY'S DATE, THE AIRBAG SERVICE INDICATOR HAS NOW ACTIVATED AGAIN FOR A FOURTH (4) TIME. THE CAR HAS NOT BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT AT ANY TIME DURING MY OWNERSHIP. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET CAMARO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENGINE ROARED ABNORMALLY LOUD AS THE ENGINE RPMS INCREASED UNUSUALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER HOWEVER, THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 14,000. *TR
AFTER HAVING BEEN REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY, THE CONVERTIBLE TOP SUDDENLY CAME A LOSE AT THE MOUNTING POINTS BEHIND THE SIDE WINDOWS. IT WAS AS IF A PARACHUTE, OR A DRAG CHUTE OPENED. THIS STARTLED THE DRIVER INTO STEERING SHARPLY TOWARDS THE SHOULDER, CAUSING THE CAR TO SPIN OUT AND RESULTED IN A NECK PAIN IN THE DRIVER. *TR
VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED NOT KNOWING THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE CONVERTIBLE TOPS. TOP STARTED COMING IN A WHOLE SO TOOK TO DEALERSHIP AND WOULD NOT FIX. FILED A COMPLAINT WITH GM THEY PUT A NEW TOP ON IT THEN HAD TO HAVE NEW FRAME BECAUSE IT WAS BENT PICKED UP LAST WEEK AND NOW TOP HAS PULLED AWAY FROM WINDOWS AFTER TOP HAD BEEN ON CAR LESS THAN A WEEK. IF WE WERE TO BE IN A WRECK BACK PASSENGER'S ARM COULD GO OUT OPENING AND BE CUT OFF. GM NEEDS TO BE MADE TO PURCHASE THESE CARS BACK BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED, HAVE MATERIAL WHERE PEOPLE HAVE POSTED THESE TOPS COMING COMPLETELY OFF CARS GOING DOWN THE ROAD ONCE THEY SEPARATE FROM WINDOWS AS MINE HAVE. I AM SCARED TO DRIVE MY CAR AND IT HAS STAYED IN THE SHOP MORE THAN I HAVE GOT TO DRIVE IT. BACK FLOOR BOARD IS WET FROM WATER POURING IN WHERE OPENING IS AND IT SOUNDS LIKE A TRAIN IS COMING THROUGH YOU CAR THEIR SO MUCH WIND NOISE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET CAMARO CONVERTIBLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH WITHIN CROSS WINDS, THE CONVERTIBLE TOP COVER, WHICH WAS REFERRED TO AS A TONNEAU, DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO LOCATE THE CONVERTIBLE TOP COVER WHEN MANEUVERING TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE CONVERTIBLE TOP COVER WOULD NOT BE REPLACED DUE TO CONCERN OF A POTENTIAL SAFETY HAZARD. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,500. UPDATED 06/06/12 *BF
MY AIR BAG LIGHT HAS BEEN ON FOR 2 YEARS NOW. I HAVE TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP 7 TIMES TO GET THIS PROBLEM FIXED. MY VEHICLE WAS UNDER WARRANTY WHEN I TOOK IT IN SO I DIDN'T HAVE TO PAY ANY MONEY FOR THE SERVICES. OUT OF ALL SEVEN TIMES THEY NEVER FIXED THE AIR BAG. NOW I BROUGHT IT IN AGAIN AND THEY ARE CHARGING ME $109 FOR SERVICES TO FIX MY AIRBAG. THE AIR BAG LIGHT HAS BEEN ON FOR 2 YEARS, MEANING IF I GET INTO A WRECK MY AIRBAG WON'T WORK. EVERY TIME MY CAR WAS RELEASED FROM THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT MY AIR BAG LIGHT IMMEDIATELY CAME BACK ON AFTER THE PASSENGER SEAT WAS ADJUSTED. I SUPPOSE ALL THEY DID WAS WIGGLE THE WIRE UNDER THE PASSENGER SEAT TO GET THE AIR BAG LIGHT TO GO OFF IN ORDER TO RETURN MY CAR TO ME KNOWING THAT IT WASN'T FIXED. NOW THEY ARE CHARGING ME MONEY TO GET THE AIR BAG FIXED WHEN IT'S NOT MY FAULT THE AIRBAG DOESN'T WORK. I BELIEVE THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD BE AT FAULT FOR THIS PROBLEM. IN ADDITION, WHILE MY CAR WAS IN THE DEALERSHIP SERVICES DEPARTMENT THEY PROVIDED ME WITH A RENTAL FROM ENTERPRISE. BUT THEY USED MY INSURANCE COMPANY INSTEAD OF PAYING $17 A DAY FOR ENTERPRISE'S INSURANCE COMPANY. I BELIEVE THIS IS WRONG BECAUSE IT IS THE MANUFACTURER'S FAULT THAT MY AIR BAG SYSTEM DOESN'T WORK PROPERLY AND THEY SHOULD PAY FOR ENTERPRISE'S INSURANCE ON THE RENTAL CAR I WAS PROVIDED WITH. THE TRUNK OF MY CAR ALSO IS BROKE AND THEY ARE CHARGING ME $182 IN ORDER TO GET IT FIXED BUT I HAVE FULL COVERAGE WARRANTY ON MY VEHICLE. *TR
I RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2011 CAMARO SS. THIS WAS A GIFT TO MY WIFE BECAUSE SHE HAD ALWAYS LOVED THE CAMARO. THE CAR WAS PURCHASED AT A CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP. MY WIFE DROVE THE CAR HOME ABOUT 70 MILES WITH NO TROUBLE AT ALL. A FEW DAYS LATER THE TEMPERATURE IN NORTH CAROLINA DROPPED TO AROUND 40 DEG AND STARTED TO RAIN. MY WIFE TOOK MY DAUGHTER TO THE STORE AND SHE WAS UNABLE TO GET ABOVE 30 MPH BECAUSE THE CAR WAS UNCONTROLLABLE DUE TO THE REAR END CONSTANTLY FISH TAILING. I WAS CALLED BY HER CRYING BECAUSE SHE WAS SO SCARED. I CONTACTED A FRIEND TO GO AND GET THE CAR AND HE CALLED ME AS HE WAS DRIVING TELLING ME WHAT THE CAR WAS DOING. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH ON LINE I FOUND OUT THAT THE PIRELLI PZERO TIRES THAT COME STANDARD ON THE SS AND RS CAMARO ARE SUMMER ONLY? TIRES. THESE TIRES ARE ONLY TO BE DRIVEN IN TEMPERATURES ABOVE 45 DEG AND IN DRY CONDITIONS! I AM CURRENTLY IN THE MIDDLE EAST AND RELIED TOTALLY ON THE DEALERSHIP TO INFORM MY WIFE OF ANY ISSUES OR WARNINGS THAT SHOULD HAVE COME WITH THE CAR. ALSO CHEVROLET IS TOTALLY AT FAULT BY SELLING, AS STANDARD EQUIPMENT, A TIRE THAT IS DANGEROUS TO THE POINT OF BEING CRIMINAL WHEN DRIVEN IN WEATHER CONDITIONS THAT COVER MOST OF THE UNITED STATES. I HAD TO PURCHASES, AT THE COST OF OVER $1000.00, A SET OF TIRES THAT ARE ?ALL SEASON? SO MY WIFE CAN DRIVE SAFELY. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO BE PAYING OVER $40,000.00 FOR A CAR THAT I NEED TO SPEND ANOTHER GRAND ON JUST TO MAKE IT SAFE TO DRIVE. THIS IS TOTALLY AND COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. I WILL NOTIFY EVERYONE AND ANYONE THAT I CAN ABOUT THE HAZARDS OF THIS SITUATION. *TR
AIRBAG SYSTEM NOT WORKING, DEALER SAID IT COULD BE A SENSOR THAT WOULD COST OVER $600.00 TO REPLACE. IT WILL COME ON SOMETIMES AND WORK FOR A FEW MOMENTS THEN THE ENTIRE AIRBAG SYSTEM SHUTS OFF AGAIN.
MY ISSUE IS WITH THE STOCK TIRES! IN COOLER WEATHER, APPR. 40 DEGREES F, THE REAR STOCK PIRELLI TIRES LOST GRIP COMPLETELY CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO SPIN OUT OF CONTROL. THESE TIRES ARE A HUGE HAZARD IN COOLER WEATHER AND SHOULD NOT BE ON ANY CAR, PERIOD! *TR
SUMMER TIRES COME STANDARD WITH VEHICLE. TEMPERATURE 38 DEGREES TIRES LOOSE ALL HANDLING CAPABILITIES. NUMEROUS OTHER CAMARO OWNERS HAVE LODGED COMPLAINTS AND CAN BE FOUND ON INTERNET. THESE TIRES ARE DANGEROUS. *TR

"SERVICE AIR BAG" WARNING LIGHT IS ON IN INSTRUMENT PANEL. DEALER HAS MADE THREE ATTEMPTS TO REPAIR BY USING ZIP TIES ON SPECIFIC ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS. PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET CAMARO. THE CONTACT STATED UPON STARTING THE IGNITION THE ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED CONTINUOUSLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THEY DETECTED THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL WAS SEVERELY DAMAGED AS A RESULT TO EXCESSIVE METAL FRAGMENTS IN THE GEAR BOX OIL. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED FOR THE ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR AND THE GEAR BOX OIL WAS REPLACED. THE ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR MALFUNCTION PERSISTED AFTER THE REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER THREE TO FOUR TIMES FOR THE ENGINE WARNING FAILURE AND UNKNOWN REPAIRS RELATED TO THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL. THE OTHER REPAIRS PERFORMED CONSISTED OF THE REPLACEMENT OF THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL BEARINGS AND, REAR PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL HUB. AN INSPECTOR DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE WHICH THERE WAS NO RESOLUTION. AFTER THE MOST RECENT REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED, THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING AND A LOUD RATTLING NOISE EMITTED FROM THE TRANSMISSION WITH MULTIPLE ENGINE MISFIRES. THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED AND WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHO DETECTED THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL HOUSING WAS LEAKING. IN ADDITION, THERE WAS DAMAGE TO THE CAM-SHAFT AND CYLINDERS. THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECTS. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,608.
TL- THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET CAMARO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT A TRUCK CRASHED INTO THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. IN ADDITION, THE SEAT BELTS DID NOT RESTRAIN THE CONTACT PROPERLY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED NECK INJURIES FROM THE CRASH. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIRS BUT WAS NOT INSPECTED FOR THE AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE UNKNOWN. WITHIN ONLY ONE MONTH CONVERTIBLE TOP HAD TO BE REPLACED. AFTER 6 MONTHS ANOTHER HOLE IS DEVELOPING ON THE CONVERTIBLE TOP DUE TO CHAFFING FROM THE FRAME ASSEMBLY WHEN DOWN. IT LOOKS LIKE THE FRAME ASSEMBLY IS CAUSING THE DAMAGE TO THE CONVERTIBLE TOP. *TR GM HAS CHANGED THE FIRST TOP BUT HAS PUT THE SECOND TOP IN A STATUS OF AWAITING ENGINEERING. TOP IS STILL NOT CHANGED. ALMOST 4000 MILES ON CAR NOW. *TR
FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE WINDSHIELD HAS DISTORTION IN LINE OF SIGHT. HAD NEW MANUFACTURER'S PART INSTALLED AND 2ND WINDSHIELD HAS SAME ISSUE. IT CAUSES DIZZINESS AND IS VERY DISTRACTING. *TR
THE WINDSHIELD IN MY 2011 CAMARO APPEARS TO HAVE OPTICAL DISTORTION WHICH CREATES A GHOSTING EFFECT THAT IS VERY DISTRACTING. IN PARTICULAR, AT NIGHT WHEN THERE ARE HEADLIGHTS, TAIL-LIGHTS, TRAFFIC LIGHTS, ROAD SIGNS, AND ETCETERA IT IS ESPECIALLY BAD. THIS IS EVEN SEEN WITH SUNLIGHT REFLECTIONS DURING DAYTIME DRIVING. THE REASON I FEEL IT IS OPTICAL DISTORTION IN THE WINDSHIELD IS BECAUSE IF I RAISE MY HEAD TO THE VERY TOP PORTION OF THE WINDSHIELD, THE OPTICAL DISTORTION GOES AWAY. I FEEL THIS IS INDICATIVE OF AN ANOMALY/DEFECT IN THE WINDSHIELD ITSELF. I HAD THE WINDSHIELD REPLACED ONCE WITH A NEW FACTORY WINDSHIELD AND I'M STILL HAVING THE SAME OPTICAL DISTORTION ISSUES. I'M CURRENTLY TRYING TO HAVE THE ISSUE RESOLVED. IN MY OPINION, THIS IS INDEED A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD IN WHICH I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED IN ANY OTHER VEHICLE I'VE EVER DRIVEN (WHICH MAKES IT EVEN MORE STRANGE). IT IS MY HOPE THAT THIS TESTIMONY WILL BE HELPFUL TO ANYONE ELSE HAVING SIMILAR ISSUES. *TR
2011 CHEVY CAMARO LESS THAN 10,000K MILES. DRIVING IN TRAFFIC IN MAYBE A 1% GRADE HILL. BURNING SMELL, THE CAR WOULDN'T CATCH IN 1ST OR 2ND GEAR. LOST ALL ACCELERATION, HAD TO CROSS MULTIPLE LANES ON THE HIGHWAY. SAT IN THE CAR FOR OVER 2 HOURS FOR TOWING COMPANY. THEN SHOP TEST DROVE NEXT DAY, GEARS WORK, BUT BAD BURNING SMELL CONTINUES. SHIPPED TO CHEVROLET. I DID RESEARCH ONLINE AND SEE MULTIPLE PEOPLE HAVE THIS PROBLEM. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND IT PLACED MY LIFE INTO DANGER! *TR
THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG WORKS ABOUT 50% OF THE TIME WITH AN ADULT PASSENGER IN THE SEAT. MY WIFE IS NORMAL SIZED, ABOUT 5'6" AND 160 LBS. THE PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT WILL ALSO INTERMITTENTLY SHOW ON AND THEN OFF WHILE DRIVING WITH A PASSENGER, EVEN WHEN THE PASSENGER IS MAKING NO MOVEMENTS. IT WAS BEEN REPLICATED AT THE DEALER, WITH MORE THAN ONE PASSENGER, INCLUDING AN EMPLOYEE OF THE DEALERSHIP. IT WAS ALSO REPLICATED WHILE CONNECTED TO AN ODBC2. AFTER FOUR TRIPS TO THE DEALER, THEY NOW DECLARE IT IS "OPERATING AS DESIGNED" AND THERE WILL BE NO MORE ATTEMPTED REPAIRS. THE VEHICLE IS NOW OUT OF WARRANTY AND STILL EXHIBITS THE ISSUE. I HAVE FOUND SEVERAL SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ON A CHEVY FORUM HERE: HTTP://WWW.CAMARO5.COM/FORUMS/SHOWTHREAD.PHP?T=122468 THEY ALL MIMIC MY ISSUE. ONE CONSUMER HAD THE CAR REPLACED UNDER THE LEMON LAW. I TOOK MY CASE TO BBB ARBITRATION AND LOST ON A TECHNICALITY. I WAS TOLD I DID NOT GIVE THE DEALER ENOUGH OPPORTUNITIES TO REPAIR THE CAR. HOWEVER, EACH TIME I TOOK IT IN AFTER THE FOURTH ATTEMPT, THEY REFUSED TO REPAIR THE CAR AND STATED IT WAS "OPERATING AS DESIGNED". AFTER THE ARBITRATION MEETING, A CHEVY EMPLOYEE PRESENT AT THE MEETING OFFERED A SEAT REPLACEMENT IN THE FORM OF A WRITTEN LETTER. LATER, I TOOK HIM UP ON HIS OFFER, BUT THEY HAD RESCINDED THE OFFER. I TOOK IT UP THE MANAGEMENT CHAIN, AND AT ONE POINT, I WAS OFFERED A CAR REPLACEMENT BUT THIS WAS LATER RESCINDED. NOW THE CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY AFTER ATTEMPTING REPAIRS FOR THREE YEARS. *TR
AFTER ONLY 12,500 MILES AND 9 MONTHS, THE CLUTCH IN MY 2011 V6 CAMARO LS BURNT OUT. THE DEALERSHIP IS TELLING ME THAT IT LOOKS LIKE I DROVE IT "AGGRESSIVELY." I HAVE NOT, AS IT IS MY ONLY VEHICLE AND I OBVIOUSLY NEED IT FOR WORK. THEY ARE NOT COVERING THE CLUTCH BECAUSE IT IS 500 MILES OVER MY "WEARABLE PARTS WARRANTY." NOW I HAVE SENT AN EMAIL COMPLAINING ABOUT THE ISSUE TO CHEVROLET AND THEY ARE SENDING A REGIONAL TECHNICIAN OUT TO LOOK AT THE CAR. BUT THE FACT REMAINS THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE (CHECK THE CAMARO5.COM FORUMS) AND SHOULD BE FIXED SOMEHOW. *TR
WHILE DRIVING AT A SPEED OF 45 MPH, MY 2011 CAMARO WITH PERELLI P ZERO, 275/40-ZR20 06Y LEFT TIRE BLEW OUT FROM HITTING A PAIR OF NEEDLE NOSE PLIERS IN THE ROAD. THE PLIERS WENT COMPLETLY THROUGH THE TREAD AND I HEARD A POP AS IF THE TIRE HAD BEEN SHOT. THE VEHICLE SWERVED APPROXIMATELY 30 DEGREES TO LEFT THEN BACK TO THE RIGHT VIOLENTLY. I WAS IN THE CENTER LANE OF A 3 LANE HIGHWAY AND NO OTHER VEHICLE WAS ON EITHER SIDE OF THE CAMARO. IT WAS DIFFICULT TO REGAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE IMMEDIATE LOSS OF TIRE PRESSURE. THE LATEST RESPONSE ADVISED BY SHANE SCHMITT OF GM IS THE VEHICLE IS FUNCTIONING AS DESIGNED. THIS RESPONSE IS UNACCEPTABLE BECAUSE: 1.A 160 LB ADULT PASSENGER MUST ACTIVATE THE AIR BAG SENSOR. 2.THE ISSUE IS INTERMITTENT (ABOUT 50% OF THE TIME). THERE IS A NOTCHINESS WHEN SHIFTING INTO SECOND GEAR FROM FIRST UNDER HARD ACCELERATION. THIS RESULTS IN A SECOND GEAR GRIND AND I AM UNABLE TO GET INTO SECOND GEAR SOMETIMES. ALSO, OCCASIONALLY THE TRANSMISSION WILL POP OUT OF SECOND GEAR AND RETURN TO NEUTRAL RESULTING IN NO ACCELERATION, WHICH IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM WHEN PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC. I HAVE READ ABOUT SEVERAL PEOPLE WITH THE SAME ISSUES AS ME, ESPECIALLY WITH GRINDING SECOND GEAR, AND GM SIMPLY NEEDS TO FIX THE ISSUE INSTEAD OF SAYING THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS "OPERATING AS INTENDED". WHILE DRIVING MY 2011 CAMARO RS THE ENGINE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON THEN THE POWER TRAIN DISENGAGED MOMENTARILY ALL WARNING LIGHTS AND ESC FAILED. THE AUTO TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF 2ND OR 3RD GEAR AND THE STEERING BECAME UNSTABLE. WARNING BELLS AND DOOR LOCKS WENT OFF. THIS CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND HAS BEEN RETURNED TO THE DEALER. SECOND GEAR GRIND . 2011 CAMARO LS. SIX SPEED TRANSMISSION. SECOND GEAR GRIND OCCURS WITH EVERY UP SHIFT OR DOWN SHIFT . THIS OCCURS DURING ACCELERATION AND DECELERATION. AT TIMES CAR WILL NOT GO INTO SECOND GEAR AT ALL CAUSING CONCERN FOR SAFETY . I HAVE CONTACTED GM WHO HAS ADDRESSED THE ISSUE ONCE BUT THE REPAIR WAS MADE WITH THE SAME DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS. THE ISSUE RETURNED AFTER 3,000 MILES. THE ATTEMPTED REPAIR WAS. SYNCHRONIZERS, NEW FIRST AND SECOND GEARS, BALL BEARINGS AND FORKS. AGAIN AFTER 3,000 MILES THE GRIND AND SECOND GEAR FAILURE HAS RETURNED AND WHAT APPEARS TO BE WORSE THEN THE FIRST TIME. MY CAR HAS NOT BEEN MODIFIED AND IS FULL STOCK. *TR

THE NEXT DEALER TOLD ME THEY ALL DID IT. THE NEXT DEALER CHANGED REAR END OIL. STILL MAKES NOISE. IT SOUNDS LIKE THE BUMP STOP LETS IT GO TO FAR. SUMMER ONLY TIRES SOLD AS FACTORY EQUIPMENT ON 2011 CAMARO. THESE TIRES PROVIDED NO TRACTION WHEN I WAS CAUGHT IN A SNOWSTORM ON THE WAY TO WORK. IN ONLY 1 TO 2 INCHES OF SNOW I COULD BARELY MAINTAIN CONTROL AT 11 MPH WHILE OTHER CARS PASSED ME LIKE I WAS SITTING STILL. THE TIRES ON MY 2011 CHEVY CAMARO (AND OTHER MODELS) ARE PERELLI P-ZERO TIRES WHICH ARE "SUMMER" TIRES AS INDICATED BY THE MANUFACTURERS. THESE TIRES ARE NOT RECOMMENDED FOR NEAR FREEZING TEMPS. THE AUTO MANUFACTURER FAILED TO INFORM ME THE TIRES (WHICH ARE STOCK) ARE ONLY RECOMMENDED FOR WARM WEATHER. I BELIEVE THE MANUFACTURER HAS NOT INFORMED MOST CUSTOMERS OF THE SITUATION. MY RESEARCH INDICATES THESE TIRES EXHIBIT MORE PROBLEMS WITH HANDLING IN COLD TEMPS AS TIRE WEAR INCREASES. THE MANUFACTURER OF THE AUTO HAS INDICATED TO ME THAT THEIR ENGINEERS ARE CONFIDENT THESE TIRES ARE SAFE, BUT THE TIRE MANUFACTURER CONTINUES TO RECOMMEND AGAINST USING THESE TIRES IN NEAR FREEZING TEMPS. AS MOST OF THE CONTINENTAL USA IS EXPOSED TO NEAR FREEZING AND BELOW FREEZING TEMPS, I AM CONCERNED THESE TIRES WILL RESULT IN CRASHES WHICH COULD BE AVOIDED IF THE AUTO MANUFACTURER PROVIDED PROPER TIRES FOR OUR CLIMATE. THE FIRST FAILURE WAS AT 4500 MILES IN THE MIDDLE LANE AS CAR PULLED INFRONT AND WHEN I HIT THE BRAKES THE CAR WHEN INTO A SKID AND THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP AT APPROX 40 MPH.THIS DEFECT DID NOT CRASH THE CAR. THE SECOND INCIDENT WAS AT APPROX 70 ON THE FREE WAY AS A CAR CAME THROUGH THE TRIANGLE AT A JUNCTION I HIT THE BRAKES THE STEERING WHEEL CRANKED ALL THE WAY TO THE RIGHT AND LOCKED UP AS DID THE BRAKING SYSTEM THROWING ME HEAD ON INTO A GUARD RAIL AT APPROX 60. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AS WELL. THE FOLLOWING DAY AT THE CAR YARD WHILE THE KEY WAS INSERTED BY THE TECHNICIAN THE CAR SAID THAT AIRBAGS DEPLETED NEED REPLACING. *TR

SPENT OVER 2.5G LETTERING THE CAR FOR OUR BUSINESS, DECAL-DELETED, DETAIL COMPANY WAXING, TINTED WINDSHIELD AND WINDOWS. GM CORPORATE SAYS THEY WILL PLACE US IN A NEW HARD TOP CAMARO, BUT WILL NOT PAY TTL, RE-WAXING, RE-LETTERING CAR, DECAL DELETING OR TINTING. OK LAW STATES THAT TTL IS INDEED COVERED. 15. THIS IS NOT A DEALER ISSUE, THIS IS A GM ISSUE. 16. DEALERS CANNOT FIX THE TOP IN A MANNER THAT GM HAS NOT PUT A SERVICE BULLETIN OUT ON. WE DO NOT WANT TO BRING IT BACK IN UNTIL THEY HAVE SAID BULLETIN. 17.
