THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP HAD BECOME INOPERABLE, ALLOWING FUEL TO LEAK FROM THE SEAL OF THE FUEL TANK. THE FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 98,916.
TAKATA RECALL. MY CAR HAS A VERY BAD SMELL OF GAS INSIDE AND OUTSIDE. IT JUST BE FIXED. I HAVE READ MANY THINGS ABOUT THIS. IT'S CALLED A SILENT RECALL. I NEED IT FIXED OR I WILL GO FIND ME A LAWYER.
THE FUEL LINES ARE LEAKING WHERE THE LINES CONNECT TO THE FUEL PUMP. IT IS CAUSING A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF GAS TO SATURATE THE TOP OF THE TANK AND RUN DOWN THE REAR OF THE TANK.

I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND MY TRACTION CONTROL CAME ON. I LOST STEERING CONTROL AND MY CAR STARTED SHIFTING ROUGH AND EVENTUALLY MY POWER DEMINISHED. NOW COMES ON PERIODICALLY FOR A COUPLE DAYS THEN WILL GO OFF AND DRIVE FINE. ALSO MY AIRBAG LIGHT STAYS ON FOR PASSENGER AND SHOWS IT TO BE OFF. HAS DONE THIS SINCE I BOUGHT IT.

WHILE MAKING A RIGHT TURN AT 30 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO TURN AND THE CONTACT HAD TO APPLY FORCE TO THE STEERING WHEEL IN ORDER TO STEER THE VEHICLE. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE, THE RPMS INCREASED, AND THE POWER STEERING WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT INDEPENDENTLY REPLACED THE POWER STEERING MOTOR AND THE POWER STEERING MODULE; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.

I BOUGHT THIS 2006 CHECY COBALT 2 MONTHS AGO AT CLEAR CHOICE AUTO SALES DEALERSHIP IN CARLISLE AND I TOLD THEM ABOUT THE STEERING WAS ROUGH WHEN I WAS TURNING TO THE RIGHT BUT EASIER TO TURN TO THE LEFT WHEN I TOOK IF FOR A TEST DRIVE. THEY TOOK IT IN THERE SHOP AND SAID IT WAS THE TIRE PRESSURE. THEY THEN ADDED AIR TO THE PASSENGERS SIDE FRONT TIRE THEN AND I NOTICED THAT IT STILL WAS THE SAME WHEN I DRIVE IT HOME. I THEN FOUND OUT THAT I HAVE THE 2 RECALLS FOR THE KEY AND IGNITION SWITCH SO I TOOK IT TO LAWERANCE CHEVROLET AND HAD THEM REPLACE THEM AND I ALSO HAD THEM CHECK ON THE PROBLEM I WAS HAVING. THEY SAID THAT IT WAS THE POWER STEERING MODULE COLUMN THAT WAS THE ISSUE BUT IT WAS GOING TO COST A HOLE LOY OF MONEY TO REPLACE IT. I DIDNT HAVE THE MONEY TO GET IT REPLACE BUT I KNEW THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE COBALTS STEERING. I ASK THEM IF IT WAS STILL COVERED UNDER RECALL AND THEY SAID IT WAS ALREADY CANCELED. IDK WHAT TO DO I REALLY DONT WANT TO SPEND MONEY FOR THIS ISSUE WHEN ITS A RECALL ALREADY AND I JUST BOUGHT THE CALL FOR $5,500. I MY STEERING WHEEL ALSO SHAKES WHEN IM DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND WHEN I HIT THE BRAKES.

I WAS DRIVING 60MPH DOWN MAIN HIGHWAY WHEN ALL THE SUDDEN THE RPMS WENT REALLY HIGH AND THE POWER STEERING INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON. I PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, TURNED THE CAR OF AND BACK ON STARTED DRIVING AGAIN. THE CAR WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF FIRST GEAR AND WAS HARD TO STEER. STARTED GOING UP A SMALL HILL TO TRY AND GET IT OF MAIN ROAD AND IT STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HILL. THESE CARS ARE NOTHING BUT A SAFETY HAZARD AND SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE!

THE CAR HAS A FACTORY WINDSHIELD WHICH IS BLURRY WHEN YOU LOOK THROUGH IT. IT IS LIKE LOOKING THROUGH AN ORANGE PEEL. THE IMAGES ARE DISTORTED, NOT SHARP OR CLEAR.

STRONG GAS SMELL. THERE ARE RECALLS ON FUEL PUMP AND PARTS IN OTHER STATES BUT NOT IN. THIS SHOULD BE ON ALL COBALTS THAT HAVE THIS PROBLEM. INDIANA LIVES ARE IMPORTANT TOO! THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND EXPENSIVE TO FIX. I HAVE SEEN MANY COMPLAINTS DUE TO THIS ISSUE ONLINE. WHY DON'T YOU STEP UP AND FIX YOU MISTAKES GM?
I STARTED TO NOTICE A STRONG SMELL OF GAS ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO. I THOUGHT NOTHING OF IT AND ASSUMED I HAD SPILLED GAS ON THE SIDE OF MY VEHICLE WHEN I WENT TO THE GAS STATION. BUT THEN I STARTED TO NOTICE THAT THE SMELL WOULD NOT GO AWAY. I CHECKED THE GROUND FOR LEAKS AND FOUND NOTHING. I CHECKED MY FUEL INJECTORS AND STILL NO LEAKS. THEN I STUMBLED ON NHTSA - WHERE THERE WERE COMPLAINTS OF FUEL SMELL OUTSIDE THE CAR. I THEN FOUND OUT THERE WERE RECALLS IN CERTAIN STATES - BUT NOT MINE. WHY???
POWER STEERING GOES OUT. ITS HAPPENED GOING 27 MPH AND ITS HAPPENED GOING 68 MPH. STARTED ACCRUING AROUND 68,500 MILES BUT WHEN I REACHED MY DESTINATION I TURNED IT OFF AND BACK ON AND THE POWER STEERING TURNED BACK ON. MY CAR IS A STANDARD SO IT CAN BE PUT INTO NEUTRAL AND TURNED OFF AND BACK ON QUICKLY BUT IT STILL ISN'T SAFE FOR ANYBODY TO DRIVE LIKE THIS I GOT THIS CAR FROM AN OLDER LADY AND I SEE WHY SHE SOLD IT BECAUSE OF HOW DANGEROUS THIS MATTER IS. TO YOUNG PEOPLE AS WELL

STRONG GASOLINE FUMES; NOW I'M TOLD IT IS A CRACKED PIECE ON THE FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY JUST AS DESCRIBED IN GM RECALL NO. 090226. $750 TO REPLACE; AND IT IS APPARENTLY YET ANOTHER KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE.
I WAS PULLING INTO THE PARKING LOT OF WHERE I WORK AND MY ENGINE SHUT OFF. I HAVE ALREADY HAD MY IGNITION SWITCH RECALL COMPLETED. MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING THE CAR A FEW DAYS LATER AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO HER AS WELL.
STRONG SMELL OF GAS EMITTING FROM REAR OF CAR. NOTICE MORE AND GETS STRONGER AFTER ATTEMPTING TO START THE CAR. FUEL IS LEAKING AND GAS MILEAGE DROPPED FROM AROUND 28-29 TO LESS THAN 10MPG. I HAVE CALLED LOCAL DEALER(2) AND BOTH ARE REFUSING TO REMEDY EVEN THOUGH THIS IS NOT A NEW COMPLAINT OR DEFECT BUT ONE IN CHEVROLET'S DESIGN AND THEY HAVE ADMITTED SUCH YET REFUSE TO FIX.
CHEVROLET COBALT HAD A IGNITION SWITCH RECALL WHICH I DID AND NOW A COUPLE MONTHS LATER I CAN HEAR THE IGNITION SWITCH CLICK ON AND OFF REPEATEDLY,THE ANTI THEFT SYSTEM IS NOW ON AND ENGAGED,THE SYMBOL IS CONSTANTLY ON,IT THINKS THAT MY CAR IS STOLEN,EVEN WHEN I DRIVE IT'LL BE ON IT'LL DISABLE MY GAUGES, MY GAUGES WILL NOT WORK AND IF THEY DO THEY WORK FOR A SECOND AND GO OFF REPEATEDLY,THE CAR WILL FLASH DASH ICONS LIKE IF IT WAS A CHRISTMAS TREE SHOW, IT LOOKS LIKE IF AN ALIEN RACE CAME IN AND KEEP MESSING WITH IT..SOMETIMES THE CAR WON'T EVEN START, IT WON'T KICK OVER, ON THE DIGITAL DISPLAY OF MY DASH I GET DASH MARKS CAUSE OF A COMPUTER ERROR CAUSE OF A ANOTHER FAULTY IGNITION SWITCH. THE CARS GAUGES AS I TRY TO DRIVE WILL NOT WORK, THE ICONS ON THE DASH WILL KEEP ROTATING FROM OTHER ICONS, THIS CAR IS DANGEROUS IN MY OWN OPINION. WHEN I DRIVE THE GAUGES WON'T WORK AND IT'S SO DANGEROUS, I CAN'T SEE THE SPEED OR MY RPMS, I CAN'T SEE HOW MUCH GAS I HAVE, MY RADIO IS NO GOOD, THE LEATHER THEY USED FOR THE SEATS WAS GARBAGE, THE PAINT WAS DONE BY AN AMATEUR, THE PAINT IS COMING OFF THE CAR, RUST IS DEVELOPING, MY DOORS WILL OPEN AND CLOSE THEMSELVES, I NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM BEFORE DOING THE RECALL.THE IGNITION SWITCH TURNS OFF MY AIRBAGS,MY RADIO DOES NOT WORK, MY WHEELS HUBS HAVE BROKE CAUSE THEY USED CHEAP WHEEL HUBS ON A SPORTS CAR, THE IGNITION COIL PACKS ARE GARBAGE.THE CAR IS DEFECTIVE, I SPENT CLOSE TO $22,000 TO $24,000,IN 2006 FOR MY 2006 CHEVROLET COBALT 2.4 SS WHICH HAS LESS THAN 71,000 MILES.THEY PUSHED A CHEAP CRAPPY PARTS CAR WITH CHEAP PAINT AND NO RUST PREVENTION,ALSO THE WIRING OF ELECTRONICS IN THE CAR WAS COMPLETE [XXX], THE WIRING HARNESSES ON ALL THE WIRES IS CRUMBLING,THE WIRING TO THE BATTERY IN THE REAR TRUNK OF THE CAR IS A FAIL,CHEVROLET PUSHED A CAR OUT THAT WAS NO READY FOR MARKET,THEY PUSHED A CAR OUT THAT WAS DEFECTIVE AND DANGEROUS. I NOTICED THE SMELL OF GAS, AND MY CAR HESITATING TO START. I TOOK IT TO A LOCAL SHOP TO GET LOOKED AT AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THE FUEL PUMP WAS CRACKED AND LEAKING.

VEHICLE GAVE OFF 3 CHIMES WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH AND THE T/C LIGHT AND ENGINE LIGHT WENT ON. VARIOUS OTHER LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD STARTED FLASHING AND THE CAR STARTED TO LOSE POWER. "POWER STEERING" READ ACROSS THE LED READOUT AND THE VEHICLE BECAME HARD TO TURN. THE VEHICLE ENDED UP IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION FACING ONCOMING TRAFFIC. I NOTICED A VERY BAD FUEL LEAK FROM UNDER MY VEHICLE BACK IN THE BEGINNING OF MAY 2015. I KEPT MY VEHICLE PARKED UNTIL I COULD GET THE PROBLEM FIXED. THE MIDDLE OF MAY I JACKED UP MY VEHICLE TO SEE WHERE THE LEAK WAS, I NOTICED IT WAS COMING FROM TWO OF MY FUEL LINES THAT RUN THE LENGTH OF MY VEHICLE, THE LEAK WAS IN THE SAME SPOT ON BOTH LINES, IN A BENT PART OF THE LINES HELD UP BY A CLIP. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO A MECHANIC SHOP ON JULY 23 TO GET A PRICE AND TO GET IT FIXED. I DIDN'T HAVE AS MUCH AS IT COST TO GET FIXED. BUT THE OWNER OF THE SHOP DIDN'T WANT ME TO DRIVE OFF IN MY VEHICLE, HE SAID THE IT WAS WAY TO DANGEROUS AND COULD CATCH FIRE. THE REASON FOR MY COMPLAINT, I CALLED THE GM DEALERSHIP TO GET A PRICE ON THE FUEL LINES. THE GUY I SPOKE WITH TOLD ME THIS WASN'T A NEW PROBLEM, HE SAID SEVERAL PEOPLE HAS BEEN THERE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. I ASKED TO CHECK FOR ANY RECALLS, HE SAID THERE WASN'T YET. LIKE THERE WAS GOING TO BE. HE TOLD ME NOT TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE BECAUSE IT WAS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS UNTIL IT WAS FIXED.
MY VEHICLE SUDDENLY AND COMPLETELY TURNED OFF BY ITSELF, WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON A VERY BUSY, DANGEROUS HIGHWAY. NOTE- I ALREADY HAD THE IGNITION SWITCH REPAIRED UNDER THE RECALL, AND I HAVE NOTHING ON MY KEY RING!!! THEY PUT ME IN CONTACT WITH THE DEALER THAT DID THE RECALL REPAIR, AND I NOW HAVE AN APPOINTMENT SCHEDULED IN 12 DAYS, WHICH I HAVE TO PAY FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AT $104/HOUR!!! WHAT'S HAPPENING TO MY CAR NOW IS THE SAME THING THAT WAS HAPPENING TO INITIATE THIS RECALL (AND LAWSUITS) IN THE FIRST PLACE. HOW CAN THEY BE SO NONCHALANT ABOUT THIS COMPLAINT, AND FURTHERMORE, MAKE ME PAY FOR IT?
