TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET COBALT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE HEARS A KNOCKING NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE NOISE IS USUALLY LOUDER WHEN THE TEMPERATURE IS BELOW 50 DEGREES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT IT SOUNDS AS IF SOMEONE IS INSIDE THE TRUNK. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE FAILURE CANNOT BE REPAIRED AND REFERENCED THE CONTACT TO SERVICE BULLETIN # 1890375. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 4,577 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 500.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET COBALT. THE CONTACT NOTICED MANY PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE SINCE THE DATE OF PURCHASE IN OCTOBER 2006. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ALIGNMENT WAS INCORRECT SO THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER FOR ALIGNMENT IMMEDIATELY. ALSO, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, AND THE AIR BAG LIGHT WOULD ILLUMINATE INTERMITTENTLY SO SENSORS WERE REPLACED BY THE DEALER. THE STEERING COLUMN AND POWER STEERING MOTOR, HEADLINER. CATALYTIC CONVERTER, WHEEL BEARINGS, STRUTS, AND THE HEATING/COOLING SYSTEM WERE ALL REPLACED. THE VEHICLE ALSO STALLED COMPLETELY ON AN INTERMITTENT BASIS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PROBLEMS WERE CONSISTENT. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN NOTIFIED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 104,000. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 369.
RE: 2007 CHEVROLET COBALT 2 DOOR SDN THERE HAS NEVER BEEN ANY INCIDENT CONCERNING THIS VEHICLE. LEFT FRONT DRIVERS SEAT, WHEN RELEASED, SLAMS FORWARD WITH GREAT FORCE. THE HEADREST LOCKS AGAINST THE STEERING WHEEL AND WILL CONTINUOUS SOUND THE HORN. THIS CONDITION IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND CAN CAUSE A SEVERE INJURY TO A CHILD--TODDLER OR BABY--INCLUDING A FATALITY. THAT IS MY OPINION. IT'S A DANGEROUS CONDITION AND I WOULD NOT SELL THIS CAR TO A YOUNG MOM. *TR
ENTERED CAR (DRIVER'S SIDE) AND DID NOT CLOSE DOOR COMPLETELY. "DOOR AJAR" INDICATOR DID NOT REMAIN LIT. DROVE AWAY AND WHILE DRIVING DOOR OPENED. NO CAR WAS IN OPPOSING LANE (2 LANE ROAD) SO NOTHING WAS STRUCK BY THE OPEN DOOR. MY SAFETY COMPLAINT IS THAT THE "DOOR AJAR" LIGHT TURNS OFF BEFORE IT SHOULD (BEFORE THE DOOR IS COMPLETELY CLOSED AND LATCHED. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER TODAY (10/19) AND EXPLAINED THE CONCERN. THEY AGREED THAT IT WAS A PROBLEM AND ACTUALLY TESTED SEVERAL OTHER CARS (SAME MODEL) ON THE NEW CAR LOT AND FOUND THAT THEY ALL HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. THEY ALSO TESTED THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR AND IT HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. THEY SPOKE WITH THEIR REGIONAL REP AND WERE TOLD THAT IT WAS A "KNOWN CHARACTERISTIC" OF THE VEHICLE AND NOTHING COULD BE DONE TO FIX IT. I THEN CALLED THE GENERAL MOTORS NATIONAL CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE CENTER AND WAS TOLD EXACTLY THE SAME THING. IN MY OPINION THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY PROBLEM SINCE THE CAR DOES NOT WARN YOU THAT THE DOOR IS NOT COMPLETELY CLOSED AND LATCHED AS IT SHOULD. *NM
I PURCHASED A 2007 CHEVROLET COBALT IN 2006 , THEY SOLD ME THE VEHICLE THAT THEY USED FOR TEST DRIVING, WHICH I TOLD THEM WAS OUT OF LINE AND THEY STILL MADE ME PURCHASE IT. I BOUGHT IT BACK A WEEK LATER AND THEY HAD TO LINE IT UP BECAUSE IT WAS ALL OVER THE ROAD. A MONTH LATER, THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD NOT TURN, THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT TOLD ME I HAD TO PAY $1200.00 TO GET IT FIXED UNTIL I NOTIFIED THE DISTRICT MANAGER AND HE MADE THEM FIX IT.THEN THE SECURITY AIR BAG LIGHT STAYED ON AND IT WOULD NOT PASS INSPECTION AND THEY TRIED TO MAKE ME PAY FOR THAT. I HAVE BEEN SPENDING MONEY ON TIRES ALL THE TIME, SPEND MONEY ON BRAKES ALL THE TIME, HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE ELECTRICAL UNITS TO THE RADIO KEEPS GOING OUT, BEARINGS IN THE WHEEL IS GONE, AND IT KEEPS CUTTING OFF. I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS SINCE I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE. I GOT A LETTER FOR THE RECALL FOR THE POWER STEERING AND WHEN I GOT MY CAR BACK, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON, THEY MESSED UP MY BOOT AND NOW TELLING ME I NEED TO FIX IT WHEN THEY HAD SOMEONE TO DRIVE MY CAR FOR 12 MILES. NOW ALL I GET IS A LOT OF DISRESPECT FROMTHEM AND THEY DON'T WANT TO REPAIR WHAT THEY MESSED UP. I ALSO WANTED TO PURCHASE ANOTHER CAR LAST MONTH FOR MY SON WHO GRADUATED FROM COLLEGE AND I HAD TO LOOK THROUGH THE WINDOWS TO SEE VEHICLES INSTEAD OF THE SALESMAN OPENING THE DOOR AND LETTING ME LOOK IN THE INSIDE. MIND YOU I BOUGHT A 16,000.00 CAR FROM THEY AND THAT'S HOW THEY APPRECIATE MY BUSINESS. I AM HEART BROKEN BECAUSE I FEEL AS IF I WAS ROBBED OF MY MONEY. I SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN GIVEN A CAR THAT THEY USE FOR TEST DRIVING. ALSO THE SECURITY AIRBAG LIGHT WOULD NOT GO OFF AND THEY WOULD NOT LET IT PASS INSPECTION. *TR
NOT LONG AFTER I BOUGHT MY 2007 CHEVROLET COBALT (ON LABOR DAY 2006), I NOTICED THAT OCCASIONALLY THERE'S A NOISE IN THE REAR OF THE CAR WHICH SOUNDS LIKE SOMEONE IS KNOCKING ON THE TRUNK. I TOOK CAR TO DEALER AND THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE SITUATION SO THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO ABOUT IT. I'VE HAD NUMEROUS PEOPLE IN MY CAR HEAR THIS NOISE AND ASK ME WHAT IT IS. *TR
PURCHASED NEW COBALT 2007 IN AUGUST OF 2006. BEGAN NOTICING HYDROPLANING AND CONTROL PROBLEMS. NOW THAT IT IS WINTER, THE CAR WILL NOT STEER, IT PULLS AND THE TRACTION IS TERRIBLE. I HAVE BEEN STUCK SEVERAL TIMES. I NO LONGER PERMIT MY WIFE TO DRIVE ON THE INTERSTATE FOR FEAR OF A COLLISION OR WORSE. WE HAVE PARKED THE VEHICLE AND CONTACTED OUR DEALER WITH SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ONLY TO FALL ON DEAF EARS. THE PROPER CHANNELS TO REPORT THIS HAS BEEN FOLLOWED BUT TP NO AVAIL HAS ANYTHING BEEN DONE TO REPLACE THE TIRES (SAFETY FIRST) AND WE FEEL SOMETHING SHOULD BE DONE BEFORE A SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH OCCURS. WE HAVE SEARCHED AND FOUND NUMEROUS PROBLEMS WITH THE TOURING CONTACT AS TIRE AND BELIEVE THAT OURS HAS SOME VERY SERIOUS PROBLEMS. WE NEED HELP NOW. *NM
INTERMITTENT AND UNEXPECTED LOSS OF POWER STEERING IN MY 2007 CHEVY COBALT. LOSS OF FUNCTION HAS OCCURRED APPROXIMATELY TEN (10) TIMES SINCE DEC 09 WHEN FIRST OCCURRED. POWER STEERING RETURN AFTER CAR IS TURNED OFF. VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY A MECHANIC WHO COMPUTER TESTED IT BUT FOUND NO MALFUNCTION CODES. VEHICLE HAS APPROXIMATELY 52,200 MILES. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET COBALT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE'S STEERING FUNCTION WAS SHAKY. SHE RECEIVED NHTSA CAMPAIGN RECALL ID NUMBER: 10V073000, STEERING ELECTRIC POWER ASSIST SYSTEM, IN MAY 2010 AND CONTACTED THE DEALER. SHE WAS TOLD THAT HER NAME WOULD BE PUT ON A LIST AND WHEN THE PART ARRIVED THEY WOULD CALL HER. SHE CALLED THE DEALER ON JULY 29,2010 AND THEY STATED THAT HER NAME WAS NOT ON THE LIST AND THEY ONLY RECEIVE TWO REPLACEMENT PARTS A WEEK. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY RISK WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 25,000.
MOTOR VEHICLE DEFECT NOTIFICATION. *NJ THE CONSUMER STATED THERE ARE SUBSTANTIAL ELECTRICAL DEFECTS WITH THE VEHICLE WHICH CAUSED IT TO INSTANTLY DECREASE FROM 55 MPH TO 30-35 MPH IN TRAFFIC.
2007 CHEVROLET COBALT. CONSUMER STATES WITH BRAKE SYSTEM PROBLEMS. *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED EVERY TIME SHE APPLIED THE BRAKES, THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD VIBRATE AND THERE WAS HESITATION WHEN SHE BRAKED FROM HIGH TO MODERATE SPEEDS TO SLOW DOWN OR TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. ALSO, ASIDE FROM THAT, AS SHE BEGAN TO DRIVE, THE VEHICLE WOULD PULL TO THE LEFT. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED SEVERAL TIMES. ALL FOUR TIRES WERE REPLACED AND A FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT WAS PERFORMED, BUT THE PROBLEM CONTINUED. *JB

THE CONSUMER STATED HIS VEHICLE WAS ORIGINALLY SOLD IN TEXAS, BUT IS NOW REGISTERED IN WISCONSIN.
