NOISY BROKEN STABILIZER LINKS, CONTROL ARM BUSHING BROKEN. QUICK INTERNET SEARCH SHOWS THIS TO BE A WISE SPREAD PROBLEM. *TR
ON FEBRUARY 21, 2008 3:21 A.M. I WAS CALLED BY ALLEGHENY GENERAL HOSPITAL (AGH) IN PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA TO INFORM ME THAT MY SON WAS TAKEN THERE BY HELICOPTER AND WAS UNRESPONSIVE. HE WAS IN A CAR ACCIDENT AND SUFFERED SEVERE BRAIN TRAUMA. UNFORTUNATELY HE DIED ON FEBRUARY 29, 2008. THIS WAS MY SON'S FIRST "NEW" VEHICLE. WE PURCHASED IT ON 12/3/2007 AND HE DIED IN IT 2 MONTHS LATER. THE VEHICLE IS A 2007 CHEVY COBALT. THE ACCIDENT WAS INVESTIGATED AND THE POLICE BELIEVE MY SON FELL ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL AS HE CROSSED THE CENTER LINE OF A 2 LANE ROAD AND HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE PERSON IN THE OTHER VEHICLE SURVIVED. AFTER RECEIVING THE FIRST RECALL NOTICE ABOUT THE IGNITION SWITCH ISSUE I CONTACTED THE CAR MANUFACTURER (GENERAL MOTORS) TO INQUIRE ABOUT WHETHER THEY WOULD INVESTIGATE THE VEHICLE TO DETERMINE IF IT WAS DEFECTIVE AND COULD HAVE BEEN THE CAUSE OF THE ACCIDENT. I WAS TOLD BY A GM REPRESENTATIVE THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO AS THEY HAD FILED BANKRUPTCY. I CONTINUE TO RECEIVE THE RECALL NOTICES WHICH LEADS ME TO BELIEVE THAT MY SON'S DEATH IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE TOTAL NUMBER OF CHEVY COBALT DEATHS. I FIRST CONTACT THE US DEPT. OF JUSTICE AND GOT NOWHERE. I THEN CONTACTED YOUR ORGANIZATION (NHTSA) - REFERENCE# 614104 AND WAS TOLD THAT I NEEDED TO GO BACK TO GM. IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT BOTH ORGANIZATIONS ARE INVOLVED IN AN INVESTIGATION OF GM HOWEVER NOBODY AT EITHER ORGANIZATION SEEMS TO WANT TO TALK TO ME. I DON'T TRUST GM AFTER SOME READING I HAVE BEEN DOING HOWEVER I PLAN TO MAKE THAT CALL. THIS IS RELIVING A NIGHTMARE! *TR
RE: 2007 CHEVROLET COBALT. SPOKANE, WA. EVENTS: IN A MIX OF ICE, DEEP SLUSH AND SNOW (WITH MICHILIN X-ICE WINTER TIRES ON ALL FOUR WHEELS), VERY SLIPPERY CONDITIONS, LOW SPEED (E.G., DRIVING DOWN ALLEY FROM MY GARAGE), FAILURE: THE ELECTRONIC STEERING BECAME ERRATIC. I FELT OUT OF CONTROL, COULDN'T KEEP THE CAR MOVING DIRECTLY FORWARD UNTIL I SLOWED TO ALMOST A STOP. THIS WAS NOT SLIPPING OR SKIDDING THAT OCCURS WHEN SLIDING ON ICE OR SNOW. RATHER, IT WAS THE STEERING WHEEL HAVING A FEEL OF BEING DISCONNECTED FROM THE WHEELS. WHAT WAS DONE: NO REPAIR WAS SOUGHT. I JUST WAS ESPECIALLY CAREFUL AT LOW SPEEDS. IN NORMAL DRIVING, EVEN IN ICY OR SNOWY CONDITION ON THE HIGHWAY AT HIGHER SPEEDS THERE WAS NO PROBLEM STEERING. THE STEERING PROBLEM OCCURRED ON EVERY OCCASION THROUGHOUT THE WINTER THAT THE SPECIFIC CONDITIONS OUTLINED ABOVE OCCURRED. *TR
THE AIRBAG ICON CAME ON SO I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER WHO SAID THE AIRBAG UNIT NEEDS REPLACED AT A COST OF 900.00. THERE IS NO DAMAGE ON THE CAR IT JUST FAILED. THE CAR IS A 2007 CHEVY COBALT. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET COBALT. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH ON A SNOWY ROAD, THE VEHICLE DROVE ACROSS A PATCH OF SLUSH. THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL AND THE VEHICLE WENT AIRBORNE. THE VEHICLE STRUCK A GUARDRAIL, AND THEN DROPPED APPROXIMATELY FOUR FEET FROM THE INTERSTATE TO THE OFF RAMP. THE CONTACT WAS INJURED AND THE VEHICLE SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. SHE SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE AND REMOVED THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION. APPROXIMATELY 30 MINUTES LATER, THE VEHICLE STARTED ON ITS OWN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER TWICE, BUT THEY COULD NOT DETERMINE HOW THE VEHICLE COULD START AND SHUT OFF WITHOUT A KEY IN THE IGNITION. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 19,084 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18,315.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET COBALT. WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE VEERED TO THE RIGHT. THE FAILURE OCCURS WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED. SHE MUST HOLD THE STEERING WHEEL STEADY WITH BOTH HANDS TO PREVENT FROM DRIVING INTO THE NEXT LANE. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER NUMEROUS TIMES AND THEY CHECKED THE ALIGNMENT, BUT WERE UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. SHE RETRIEVED A PARTIAL CARFAX HISTORY REPORT AND IT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD NINE REPORTS. BECAUSE SHE DID NOT PURCHASE THE FULL REPORT, SHE IS UNAWARE OF THE FAILURES LISTED IN THE REPORTS. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT YET BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 9,900.
MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING TO WORK AROUND 7:30 A.M., ON THE HIGHWAY IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC, SO WAS ONLY TRAVELING AROUND 30 -35 MPH AT THE MOST. SHE SOMEHOW LOST CONTROL OF HER VEHICLE, VEERED OFF THE ROAD, HIT THE GUARD RAILING AND TOOK OUT ABOUT 15 - 20 FT. OF IT, AND LANDED DOWN A SMALL EMBANKMENT. NO OTHER CARS WERE INVOLVED. SHE HAD NO IDEA HOW THIS HAPPENED, NOBODY HAD HIT HER, THE ROADS WERE CLEAR, NO BAD WEATHER, NO TRAFFIC PROBLEMS, JUST SLOW MOVING TRAFFIC. HER CAR WAS TOTALED!!! AFTER HEARING OF THE STEERING RELATED PROBLEMS WITH THE COBALT, THIS WOULD CERTAINLY EXPLAIN WHAT HAPPENED TO HER. SHE DID HURT HER NECK AND BACK AND WAS TAKEN BY AMBULANCE TO THE ER, SCARED TO DEATH!. LUCKILY SHE WAS NOT SERIOUSLY HURT, BUT BRUISED AND SORE MUSCLES, WITH MUSCLE SPASMS FOR ABOUT 3 MONTHS AFTER ACCIDENT. SHE HAD OWNED THIS CAR LESS THAN 1 YEAR. CHEVY AND THE NHTSA DEFINITELY NEEDS TO LOOK INTO THIS AND RECALL THE COBALTS SO THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN TO OTHERS! *TR
BRAKES DONE TWICE IN A YEAR STRUTS GOING BAD AND FAN MOTOR SQUEAKING GAS TANK SENSOR REPLACED NEED NEW TIRES. FIRST TIME BRAKES WERE SANDED DOWN THEN PUT BACK ON. SECOND TIME THEY WERE REPLACED. *TR
DRIVING ON HIGHWAY WHEN I SLAMMED ON MY BRAKES TO AVOID HITTING VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME WHEN MY 2007 CHEVROLET COBALT FISHTAILED TO THE LEFT. SPUN ABOUT 3 TIMES IN THE MIDDLE OF A 3 LANE HIGHWAY COLLIDING WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE. *TR
POWER STEERING RANDOMLY STOPS/STARTS WORKING. DURING A MID WAY THROUGH A TURN WITH THE CAR, POWER STEERING ON DASH CAME ON AND IT WAS A REAL STRUGGLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE CAR AND CONTINUE TURNING WITHOUT ENTERING THE OTHER LANE. CAR HAS BEEN INTO THE DEALERSHIP ONCE ALREADY FOR THE PROBLEM AT WHICH TIME THEY INDICATED IT WAS THE CLUTCH SWITCH(?). CAR IS TWO WEEKS OLD AND HAS 850 MILES ON IT. *TR
I WAS DRIVING AND TRIED TO BRAKE BEFORE A CURB AND SPUN OUT OF CONTROL I WAS NOT EVEN GOING FAST I MIGHT HAVE BEEN DOING 25M.P.H. BEFORE THE CURB WHEN THE VEHICLE SPUN OUT OF CONTROL AND INTO A TREE. *TR
DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND HIT A LARGE ROCK-CAUSING A HOLE IN THE OIL PAN. NO LIGHTS OR WARNING SOUNDS WENT OFF NOTIFYING ME THAT THERE WAS A HOLE IN THE OIL PAN AND THAT OIL WAS LEAKING OUT. VEHICLE IS STILL AT BLUE RIBBON GMC IN SALLISAW OK, THEY ARE ADVISING THAT THEY WILL NOT WARRANTY ANY OF THE DAMAGES. *TR
STOCK AM/FM RADIO - CD PLAYER IN VEHICLE WOULD NOT POWER ON UPON START UP OF VEHICLE. PROBLEM WOULD NOT REPLICATE ITSELF FOR THE DEALER, AS IT OCCURS AT RANDOM INTERVALS. NO TIME WOULD DISPLAY ON RADIO. NO AUDIO THROUGH SPEAKERS. *TR

I BOUGHT MY CAR NEW, EVERY SINCE I HAVE HAD IT THEY HAVE BEEN A PROBLEM. FIRST THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE DIDN'T WORK SO I TOOK IT BACK TO THE SAME PLACE I BOUGHT IT FROM WHICH IS A HOUR DRIVE ONE WAY & THEY SAID THEY REPLACED IT. NEXT THE DOORS STARTED LEAKING AIR SO I TOOK IT BACK TO THE SAME PLACE THEY TOOK ALL DAY BUT SUPPOSE TO HAVE FIXED THAT PROBLEM. NOW THE RUBBER SEALS ON BOTH BACK DOORS KEEPS FALLING OFF FINALLY FIXED THEM. TOTAL UPSET BECAUSE THEY FIXED ONE THING AND MESSED ANOTHER UP. I START TAKING MY CAR TO RAMEYS, WERE THEY FIX THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE WHICH THE OTHER PLACE WAS SUPPOSE TO FIX. AT LESS THAN 35,000MILES THE ROTOR HAD TO BE TURNED. I TAKE IT FOR A OIL CHANGE EXPLAIN THAT THE SPEED AND TACK HAND MOVES ON IT OWN YOU WHEN THE ENGINE IS CUT OFF & THEY SAID THEY DIDN'T SEE IT DO ANYTHING.I TAKE IT BACK TO THE RAMEYS FOR THE NEXT OIL CHANGE AND AT THIS TIME THE RECALL HAD BEEN ISSUED ON THE STEERING & I TOLD THEM THAT SOMETIMES ITS DIFFICULT TO STEER & AGAIN THEY SAY NOTHING IS WRONG WELL AS TIME HAS GONE BY IT IS GETTING WORSE. NOW THE DOORS ARE ALL STICKING. I GOT OUT OF MY VEHICLE & NOTICED MY LIGHT WERE STILL ON, THEY NEVER TURNED OFF UNTIL I TWISTED THE NOB THAT WORKED FOR A LITTLE BIT THEN IT GOT TO WERE THEY WOULDN'T EVEN GO OFF IF YOU TWISTED THE NOB SO MY HUSBAND TOOK OUT THE FUSE OUT NOW I DON'T HAVE ANYTHING BUT BRIGHT LIGHTS. A FEW WEEKS LATER THE SIGNAL LIGHTS STOP MAKE A SOUND I THOUGHT THAT MY BULB WAS BLOWN SO I CHECKED THEM ALL & THEY ALL WORKED BUT THE ODD THING IS SOMETIMES WHEN I AM DRIVING THEY WILL MAKE THE SOUND. AFTER GOING TO RAMEYS& GETTING THE ANSWER NOTHING WRONG, I TOOK IT TO A PRIVATE GARAGE WERE HE THOUGHT IT WAS THE SWITCH ITSELF, HE INSTALLED A NEW ONE & THAT DIDN'T SOLVE THE PROBLEM IS BOARD IN THE FUSE BOX .THE SPEAKER ON THE DRIVERS SIDE DON'T WORK EITHER & THE TRUNK SLAMS DOWN WHEN YOU LET GO OF THE TRUNK DOOR. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET COBALT. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5-10 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL COMPLETELY LOCKED. THE CONTACT COULD NOT PLACE THE VEHICLE IN GEAR AND ALMOST CAUSED A CRASH. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER INFORMED HER THAT THE STEERING WHEEL WILL ONLY LOCK WHEN THE VEHICLE HAS MINIMAL MOVEMENT. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT YET BEEN REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 13,100.
NO INCIDENTS HAVE HAPPEN, BUT I NOTICED MY SIX YEAR OLD SITTING IN HIS BOOSTER SEAT IN THE BACK SEAT OF THE SEDAN LS AND THE SHOULDER BELT COVERS OVER HIS NECK AND CHIN AREA, THERE IS NO WAY TO ADJUST IT?? AND HE IS EVEN TALL FOR HIS AGE, HAVE YOU HAD ANY OTHER COMPLAINTS?? AND IF NOT MAYBE SOMEONE COULD LOOK IN TO IT ?? WE JUST BOUGHT THIS 2007 CHEVY CO BOLT LS. *JB
I WAS IN A CAR ACCIDENT ON OCTOBER 18TH OF THIS YEAR. I HIT THE REAR END OF ANOTHER CAR AT 50MPH. MY AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THIS IS THE SECOND CHEVY CAR THAT THIS HAS HAPPEN TO ME. *TR

I HAVE TAKEN IT INTO A MECHANIC AND THEY TOLD ME BECAUSE OF THE MILEAGE IT WOULDN'T BE COVERED BY ANY FORM OF WARRANTY BECAUSE ONE WAS FACTORY( UP TO 36,000 MILES) AND THE EXTENDED WARRANTY WOULDN'T COVER IT ALL. *TR

I PURCHASED A NEW 2007 COBALT ON 8/1/07. I COULD NOT START THE CAR AT NIGHT ON TWO OCCASIONS WHEN I WAS TRYING TO GO TO WORK AS A NURSE AND THE THIRD TIME THE CAR WOULD NOT TURN OFF . IT KEPT RUNNING AND WAS TOWED. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET COBALT. WHILE DRIVING 50-60 MPH, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO UPSHIFT. THE GEAR WOULD REMAIN IN THE DOWNSHIFT POSITION. WHEN A TRAILER WAS ATTACHED TO THE VEHICLE, THE GEARS WOULD NOT UPSHIFT AND THE VEHICLE COULD NOT ACCELERATE. THE TRAILER NEARLY REAR ENDED THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED NUMEROUS TIMES AND WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TWICE, BUT THEY COULD NOT DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALER AND THEY BELIEVE A NEW TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE IS NEEDED. THE MODULE HAS BEEN REPLACED TWICE, BUT THE FAILURE STILL PERSISTS. THE CONTACT BELIEVES THAT A RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,048 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 34,449. UPDATED 12/22/08 *LJ. UPDATED 12/22/08. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET COBALT. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY IN A RAINSTORM, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT FLOOR PANEL WAS DRENCHED WITH FOUR INCHES OF WATER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND REPAIRED. IN ADDITION, WHEN PRESSURE WAS APPLIED TO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, IT WOULD CONSTANTLY STICK. THE CONTACT HAD TO MAKE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS BEFORE THE PEDAL WOULD RELEASE. THERE WAS ALSO A MALFUNCTION WITH THE STEERING ROD. ON FOUR SEPARATE OCCASIONS, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR IDENTICAL FAILURES, BUT WITH NO RESOLUTIONS. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED OF THE SAFETY RISKS INVOLVED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 2,000.

THE DEALER WAS DIAGNOSING THE FAILURE SO THAT THE VEHICLE COULD BE REPAIRED WHEN THE COMPLAINT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT WILL NOTIFY THE MANUFACTURER REGARDING THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 6,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

THE CONTACT HAS BOTH TIRES THAT FAILED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 20,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8,000.

I OWN A 2007 CHEVY COBALT. THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE FRONT END MAKING THE CAR SHIMMY AND SHAKE UPON BRAKING...CAUSES CLUNKING NOISES AND SUCH. WHILE DRIVING E. ON HIGHWAY 60 IN AZ, I NOTICED MY STEERING WHEEL STICKING ONCE IN A WHILE. AFTER DRIVING THRU DEVEL'S CANYON THE STEERING KEPT PULLING TO THE RIGHT A LITTLE THEN IT WOULD STOP PULLING, OVER AND OVER. WHEN I WAS ON FLAT ROAD AGAIN THE STEERING PULLED REAL SHARP TO THE RIGHT AND WOULD NOT TURN LEFT, AFTER A SECOND OF THIS THE STEERING FINALLY FREED ITSELF AGAIN BUT MAKING THE STEERING VERY TOUCHY, WHEN THIS HAPPENED THE CAR STARTED SWEERVING SIDE TO SIDE AND ENDED UP HITTING THE GUARD RAIL ON THE EAST BOUND SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY. I WAS GOING APROX. 52 MPH IN A 55 MPH AREA. WHEN I HIT THE GUARD RAIL THE CAR HIT ALMOST HEAD ON AND THE AIR BAGS NEVER WENT OFF.

HE CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS INSTRUCTED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 49,000. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 900.

I HAD A FRONT IMPACT COLLISION WITH MY NEW 2007 CHEVY COBALT. I WAS TRAVELING 40 TO 45 MPH WHEN THE IMPACT OCCURED. MY AIRBAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. BY THE GRACE OF GOD I WALKED AWAY FROM THE ACCIDENT UNHARMED BUT MY CAR WAS TOTALED. I CONTACTED GM AND THEY HAD AN ENGINEER INSPECT MY CAR AND DETERMINED THE AIRBAG SHOULD HAVE GONE OFF BUT SINCE THE CAR WAS A TOTAL LOSS AND NO ONE WAS HURT THEY WILL NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT.

CONSUMER STATES SAFETY DEFECT IN STEERING SYSTEM *TGW THE CONSUMER BEGAN TO HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE HVAC SYSTEM WIRING AND CONNECTOR WHICH WAS REPLACED ON APRIL 20, 2007, THE SECOND TIME ON JULY 3 , 2007 THE HVAC SYSTEM RELAY HAD TO BE REPLACED AND THE THIRD TIME ON JULY 6, 2007 THE BODY CONTROL MODULE HAD TO REPLACED. ALSO, THE STEERING SHAFT AND STEERING COLUMN HAD TO BE REPLACED, THERE WAS A BUBBLE ON THE TIRE WHICH REQUIRED REPLACEMENT. THE WINDOW REGULATOR AND FUEL PUMP MODULE WAS ALSO REPLACED. *JB

THE SECURITY WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND HE LOST POWER STEERING. THE VEHICLE WAS UNSAFE AND THE STEERING WHEEL WAS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT FOR HIM TO TURN TO THE RIGHT OR LEFT. THE DEALER ADVISED HIM TO CALL THE MANUFACTURER AND STATED THERE WAS NO DEFECT. WHENEVER HE TURNED THE KEY IN THE IGNITION, THE MILEAGE WOULD INCREASE BY AN ADDITIONAL 2,500 MILES. WHEN THE ODOMETER DISPLAYED THE INCORRECT MILEAGE IT AFFECTED THE WARRANTY. THE CONTACT CONTINUED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER WHO LATER STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER WOULD DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE REMAINED IN THE DEALERS POSSESSION FOR THREE MONTHS. THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT HE WOULD NO LONGER EXPERIENCE THE FAILURE AFTER THEY CUT OUT ALL OF THE WIRING HARNESS; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITHIN A WEEK. THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT TO LEAVE THE VEHICLE IN THEIR POSSESSION ALL NIGHT WHERE THEY CONFIRMED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER STATED ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION THAT THEY WOULD GIVE HIM A NEW VEHICLE BUT LATER DECLINED TO DO SO. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THEY WOULD NO LONGER REPLACE THE VEHICLE AND IT COULD LATER RESULT IN A RECALL. THE MILEAGE ALSO INCREASED BY 8,000 WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE DEALERS POSSESSION THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO RECUR CONTINUOUSLY. ANOTHER DEALER STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS IN THE BODY CONTROL MODULE WOULD PREVENT THE FAILURE FROM OCCURRING. THE MANUFACTURER HAD ALL RELATED DOCUMENTS INCLUDING A CLAIM NUMBER REGARDING THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS ONLY ABLE TO ACCELERATE UP TO 35 MPH. WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED IT WAS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT FOR HIM TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 125,000. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8,000.
