I BOUGHT A 2005 CHEVY CORVETTE CONVERTIBLE AT A DEALERSHIP IN BATON ROUGE LOUISIANA NAMED GERRY LANE CHEVROLET THEY TOLD ME EVERYTHING WORKED ON THE CAR WHEN I GOT THE CAR IN 2019 THE CAR HAD OVER 40 PROBLEMS THAT THE HEAD-UP DISPLAY DOESN'T WORK THE HEADLIGHT GOES OFF SOMETIMES COMES ON SOMETIMES THE CD PLAYER DOESN'T WORK THE NAVIGATION SCREEN DOESN'T WORK THE SPEAKERS ARE SOUNDING CRACK AND DOES TRAIN SENSOR WITHOUT THEY ONLY FIX THE CRANK SENSOR AND THE CIGARETTE LIGHTER DOESN'T WORK AND THE CONVERTIBLE TOP DOESN'T WANT TO GO UP AND DOWN SOMETIME
MY 2005 CHEVROLET CORVETTE IS HAVING THE SAME ISSUES LISTED IN CAMPAIGN 10V172000 ON 04/26/2010. YET WHEN I ENTER MY VIN NUMBER IT SAYS NO RECALLS. THE "SERVICE ACTIVE HANDLING SYSTEM" MESSAGE APPEARS WITH LOSS OF THE FEATURE AND LOSS OF BRAKES LIGHTS. THE BRAKES LIGHTS COME ON SPONTANEOUSLY WHILE DRIVING AND TURN OFF WHEN THE BRAKES ARE ACTUALLY APPLIED. OBVIOUSLY A DANGEROUS SITUATION. 02
I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE AT APPROXIMATELY 68 MPH IN A STRAIGHT LINE ON THE HIGHWAY. THE ROAD CONDITIONS WERE DRY AND COLD. I WAS DRIVING STRAIGHT AND DID NOT HIT ANY BUMPS IN THE ROAD WHEN SUDDENLY I FELT THE STEERING PULLING MY CAR ABOUT 1/4 TURN TO THE LEFT AND ABOUT A 1/2 TURN TO THE RIGHT AND BRAKES WERE APPLIED, NOT BY ME. I THEN HEARD A CHIMING NOISE AND SAW AN ERROR CODE ON MY DASH SAYING "SERVICE ACTIVE HANDLING SYSTEM". I GAINED CONTROL OF MY VEHICLE AND EXITED THE HIGHWAY. I READ ON MANY FORUMS THAT OTHER C6 OWNERS, ESPECIALLY YEARS '05-'06 HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE AND THAT THE DEFECT MAY LIE IN THE STEERING WHEEL POSITION SENSOR CONNECTOR. MY VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH A TELESCOPING STEERING WHEEL WHERE THIS ISSUE SEEMS TO ARISE.
FREQUENTLY UNABLE TO SHIFT OUT OF PARK ONCE THE CAR IS STARTED. SHIFT INTERLOCK SOLENOID SEEMS TO BE FAULTY. VEHICLE IS ALWAYS STATIONARY IN A PARKING SPACE. SOMETIMES I TURN IT OFF AND TRY AGAIN AND IT WORKS. VERY ANNOYING.
MY QUESTION IS; I OWN A 2005 CORVETTE C6 AND HAVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY STEERING COLUMN WHICH IS THE TILT AND TELESCOPING. SUCH AS NOT BEING ABLE TO START IT. I AM LUCKY THAT MY BRAKES HAVEN'T LOCKED UP ON ME YET. DURING MY RESEARCH I FOUND THAT YOU HAD BEGAN A SAFETY RECALL ON APRIL 30, 2010, NHTSA 10V172000, REGARDING THE TILT AND TELESCOPING STEERING WHEEL ON MY YEAR AND MODEL OF VEHICLE. I CONTACTED MY CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP YESTERDAY ABOUT THIS AND SCHEDULING TO HAVE THEM PUT IN THE BYPASS TO COLUMN LOCK. I MENTIONED THE SAFETY RECALL AND HE TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS ONLY ONE RECALL ON MY VEHICLE, LIGHTS. WHY ISN'T MY CAR APPROVED FOR THE SAFETY RECALL OF 2010, WHEN SHE MEETS ALL OF THE CRITERIA?
IF A SENSOR FAULTS RELATED TO THE "ACTIVE HANDLING SYSTEM" THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE BRAKE LOCKS UP. AT THAT TIME IT GIVE A "SERVICE ACTIVE HANDLING" NOTICE. THIS HAPPENS WHILE AT ANY SPEED IN INCLUDING AT HIGHWAY SPEED. THE BRAKE LOCKS UP COMPLETELY FOR ABOUT ONE SECOND BEFORE RELEASING. RESULTS IN EXTREMELY HARD PULL TO THE LEFT. VEHICLE HAD PREVIOUS RECALL SERVICE PERFORMED BUT RECALL SERVICE DOES NOT PREVENT THE LOCK UP. DATE LISTED BELOW IS THE LAST TIME AS I HAD THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT DISCONNECT THE SENSOR TO TURN THE SYSTEM OFF UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE. THIS WAS DONE TO ELIMINATE FAULT THAT COULD RESULT IN A POTENTIALLY FATAL ACCIDENT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET CORVETTE. WHEN THE ENGINE WAS STARTED, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME PERMANENTLY LOCKED. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO UNLOCK THE STEERING WHEEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN UNKNOWN DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRONIC STEERING LOCK FAILED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 04V060000 (STEERING). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,700.
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION LEVER WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK AND INTO GEAR, LEAVING YOU STRANDED AND UNABLE TO MOVE FROM STREET.

THE LOCAL DEALER (ALLEN TILLERY CHEVROLET, 4573 CENTRAL AVE, HOT SPRINGS, AR) WAS NOTIFIED AND INDICATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V172000 (STEERING); HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS EXCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALSO NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 113,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET CORVETTE. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH AND ABOVE, THE CONTACT HEARD THE SOUND OF AIR COMING THROUGH THE ROOF PANEL, WHICH WAS NOT STRUCTURALLY CONNECTED. THE CONTACT WAS UNCERTAIN IF THE ROOF PANEL WOULD FRACTURE WITHOUT WARNING WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN OPERATION. THE DEALER (KEN GARFF CHEVROLET, 548 E 1000 S, AMERICAN FORK, UT 84003, (801) 756-3546) WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT TEST DRIVE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 09V491000 (STRUCTURE); HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE EXHIBITED THE SAME FAILURE LISTED IN THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 33,500. *TT*JB
MY 2005 CORVETTE C6 COUPE HAS A STRONG FUEL SMELL COMING FROM THE BACK, DRIVER'S SIDE FENDER WELL. FUEL SMELL IS PRESENT IN THE CABIN AND WITHIN 50' OF THE VEHICLE. DRIVER'S SIDE FUEL SENDING UNIT SHOWS SIGNS OF LEAKING BUT FUEL EVAPORATES BEFORE HITTING THE GROUND. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH CORVETTES AND GM HAS ISSUED A SPECIAL SERVICE BULLTIN #15682 BUT ONLY FOR CORVETTES BY VIN FROM 2007-2013. MY VEHICLE HAS THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM WITH THE EXACT SAME PARTS BUT I AM BEING TOLD THEY WILL NOT COVER IT AT THIS TIME. I WAS ISSUED A CASE NUMBER (# 8-4417928449). I BELIEVE THIS TO BE A MANUFACTURES DEFECT WITH HIGH SAFETY/ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT THAT SHOULD BE CORRECTED/PAID FOR BY GM...DOES NOT MATTER IF THE VEHICLE IS RUNNING, DRIVING OR OFF.
INTERMITTENTLY, THE CAR WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK. IT'S AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. THERE ARE HUNDREDS (THOUSANDS?) OF PEOPLE REPORTING THE SAME ISSUE ON CORVETTE FORUMS. VEHICLE IS STATIONARY. MANY PEOPLE REPORT PAYING OVER $700 TO REPLACE THE IGNITION LOCK SOLENOID SWITCH. APPEARS TO BE A FAULTY DESIGN IN THE PART TO HAVE THIS MANY PEOPLE REPORTING THE SAME ISSUE.
WHILE DRIVING 70+MPH ON AN INTERSTATE, "REDUCED POWER MODE" AND "SERVICE ACTIVE HANDLING" WARNINGS ILLUMINATED ON THE DIC AONG WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. THE VEHICLE THEN COMPLETELY SHUT OFF MAKING IT EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TO GET SAFELY OUT OF THE PATHS OF OTHER VEHICLES. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO THE VEHICLE ABOUT 8 TIMES NOW IN VARYING CIRCUMSTANCES, MOSTLY WHILE IN MOTION. ERROR CODES TAKEN FROM HANDHELD PROGRAMMER INCLUDE: P1516, P2101, P2135
HEAVY FUEL FUMES WHEN CAR IS SITTING STATIC, THERE IS NO LEAKS, NO SPOTS UNDER THE CAR. THE FUMES ARE VERY HEAVY AND IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO PARK THE CAR IN THE GARAGE, I HAVE SPOKEN TO ABOUT 09 CORVETTE C6 OWNERS AND THEY HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM, DEALER ADMITS THERE IS A PROBLEM, BUT GM WILL NOT ALLOW THEM TO REPAIR IT.
TOOK THE CAR IN FOR A CHATTER NOISE AT IDLE AND WHEN STATIONARY. I'M TOLD THAT THE TORQUE TUBE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, THE CAR ONLY HAS 27,000 MILES AND IT SEEMS THAT THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS THING TO HAVE HAPPEN IF IT FAILS WHY YOU ARE DRIVING IT AND IT CAUSES MAJOR DAMAGE TO THE REST OF THE DRIVE TRAIN. IT IS A MAJOR PART OF THE DRIVE TRAIN AND AN OBVIOUS DEFECT WITH THE CORVETTES AS NOTED IN THE FORUMS. A RECALL IS IN ORDER AND CHEVORLET NEEDS TO STEP UP TO THE PLATE AND REPAIR THESE TO MAKE THIS CAR SAFER BEFORE SOME ONE IS SERIOUSLY INJURED. THE REPAIR IS VERY EXPENSIVE AT AROUND 3,000. A REPAIR THAT SHOULD NEVER NEED TO BE DONE ON A LOW MILEAGE CAR.
STUCK IN PARK ALMOST EVERY TIME NOW.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO WALLY EDGAR CHEVROLET INC (3805 S LAPEER RD, LAKE ORION, MI 48360), BUT NO DIAGNOSTIC FAILURE CODES WERE FOUND AND THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO JEFFERSON CHEVROLET (2130 E JEFFERSON AVE, DETROIT, MI 48207) WHERE THE DEALER CONFIRMED THAT NO RECALLS WERE ASSOCIATED WITH THE VIN. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 04V060000 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 8-1941692497. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,000.
AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT COMES ON. CONNECTOR UNDER SEAT LOOSES CONTACT. VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH CORVETTES.
WHEN THE CAR IS COMPLETELY WARMED UP AND I'M DRIVING ABOUT 10 MINUTES FURTHER. FIRST THE DAYLIGHT RUNNING LIGHTS GO OUT. THEN THE TURN SIGNALS IN FRONT DON'T WORK. THEN THE HIGH BEAMS DON'T WORK. ALL WORK WHILE THE CAR IS COLD. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 70 MILES AN HOUR WHEN SUDDENLY THE HIGH BEAMS WENT OUT. I WAS IN A PANIC AND QUICKLY SWITCHED ON THE FOG LIGHTS. I COULD NOT GET THE HEADLIGHT TO TURN BACK ON. ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO I HAD A SIMILAR PROBLEM WITH MY LOW BEAMS. AFTER THE CAR WARMED UP THE LOW BEAMS WOULD SUDDENLY TURN OFF. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID IT WAS A SAFETY RECALL ITEM AND THEY FIXED IT WITH A JUMPER CABLE.
I RECEIVED A MESSAGE ON THE INFORMATION SCREEN ON THE DASH, IT SAYS SERVICE ACTIVE HANDLING SYSTEM. IS THERE A RECALL FOR THIS. THE CAR SUDDENLY VEARED TO THE LEFT. IT WENT INTO THE OTHER LANE BEFORE I COULD CORRECT IT. THE STABILITY INDICATOR THEN ILLUMINATED. THE SERVICE BULLETIN HAS ALREADY BEEN ACCOMPLISHED FOR THIS CAR.
TRIED TO START MY CORVETTE WHICH IS STORED IN THE GARAGE AND DASH SCREEN STATED "SERVICE COLUMN LOCK" AND VEHICLE WILL NOT START. AFTER RESEARCHING ONLINE I FOUND THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE FOR 2005 MANUAL TRANSMISSION CORVETTES AND LOTS OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. CALLED GM TO SEE IF MY VIN WOULD BE COVERED SINCE THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH A FAULTY PART, AND WAS TOLD IT WAS NOT. GM SHOULD DO THE RIGHT THING FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS AND RECALL THIS KNOWN PROBLEM TO FIX OR REIMBURSE THOSE WHO HAVE ALREADY PAID FOR THIS VERY INCONVENIENT AND DANGEROUS ISSUE.
THE ACTIVE HANDLING APPEARS WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET AND IT SEEMS THE WHEEL BRAKE IS APPLIED CAUSING ME TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE CAR.
THE FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY IS MADE OF PLASTIC. THIS PLASTIC ON FUEL PUMP OUTLET HAS DEVELOPED A SMALL CRACK DUE TO THE INFERIOR PLASTIC, CAUSING HIGH PRESSURE FUEL TO SPRAY OUT, POOL ON TOP OF TANK, AND DRIP DOWN THE SIDE OF THE TANK NEAR THE HOT EXHAUST. APPARENTLY THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM ON MULTIPLE YEAR C6 CORVETTES AND GM DOESN'T NOT WANT TO ISSUE A RECALL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET CORVETTE. WHILE DRIVING AT UNKNOWN SPEEDS, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL SNAPPING NOISE EMERGING FROM THE ROOF AREA WHILE TRAVELING OVER BUMPS IN THE ROAD. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CHARLIE OBAUGH CHEVROLET (2551 W MAIN ST, WAYNESBORO, VA 22980, (540) 941-2200) AND THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 09V491000 (STRUCTURE). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 128,000.
I HAVE A 2005 CORVETTE AND WHEN GETTING ON IT MY BACK WHEEL FEELS LIKE ITS GOING TO LOCK UP I READ SOMETHING ABOUT THIS AND HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH MY PROPELLING STEERING WHEEL AND ALMOST PUT ME IN A WALL AND I HEARD THIS IS GOING ON A LOT
VEHICLE RANDOMLY WILL NOT SHIFT FROM PARK TO ANY OTHER GEAR. THIS STARTED INFREQUENTLY AND NOW HAPPENS ALMOST EVERY TIME. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS ISSUE ON THIS MAKE AND MODEL WITH THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION AND HAVE FOUND THIS IS A VERY COMMON ISSUE, CORVETTE FORUMS ARE LOADED WITH THIS COMPLAINT. THE FIX IS A NEW SHIFTER REPLACEMENT. I HAVE CONTACTED GM AND DID NOT GET ANY RELIEF, MY CAR ONLY HAS 33K MILES ON IT.

WILL GET STUCK IN PARK. NO WARNING AND WILL DO IT ANYWHERE ANY TIME. THE SERVICE MANUAL HAS TEMPORARY FIX BUT IT DOES NOT ALWAYS WORK EITHER.
FUEL LEAKS AND FUEL ODORS COMING FROM THE FUEL TANK, CONCERNS OF FIRE
IF I PUT MORE THAN 1/2 TANK OF FUEL THERE IS A STRONG ODOR OF FUEL COMING FROM THE CAR AND INSIDE THE PASSENGER CABIN. THE SMELL IS SO STRONG THAT I CAN'T DRIVE THE CAR WITH THE WINDOWS UP. IF I PARK THE CAR IN MY GARAGE, THE GARAGE FILLS WITH FUMES FROM THE GAS. I SEE FUEL PUDDLES UNDER THE CAR IN FRONT OF THE DRIVER REAR WHEEL. THE FUEL SMELL IS IN THE CAR WHETHER THE CAR IS MOVING OR NOT.
I HAVE AN 05 CORVETTE AND MY LEFT LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT DOES NOT WORK. ALL OTHER LIGHTS WORK FINE, INCLUDING THE HIGH BEAMS.

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 71,183.
AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT COMES ON AND GOES OFF EACH TIME THE CAR IS RUNNING. SOMETIMES IT STAYS ON FOR MINUTES, OTHER TIMES IT MAY STAY ON THE ENTIRE TIME THE CAR IS RUNNING. THE CAR CURRENTLY HAS 26000 MILES. THE LIGHT IS ON BOTH WHEN THE CAR IS SITTING STILL IN PARK AND WHEN IT IS BEING DRIVEN. DO I HAVE AIRBAG PROTECTION WHEN THIS OCCURS ? THE OWNERS MANUAL STATES THAT IF THE LIGHT IS ON THE AIRBAGS MAY DEPLOY FOR NO REASON. VERY UNSAFE IF CAR IS BEING DRIVEN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. CORVETTE OWNERS NEED TO BE MADE AWARE OF THE RISKS INVOLVED IN DRIVING THIS CAR.

STRONG GAS SMELL IN VEHICLE AFTER FILLING UP THE TANK. GAS SMELL STAYS WITH THE CAR UNTIL THE FUEL TANK IS HALF EMPTY. SMELL IN THE CAR WHEN DRIVING AND STATIONARY. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE IN CORVETTES.

IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BODY CONTROL MODULE FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED TWO WEEKS LATER. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V172000 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 28,757.
THE 2005 CHEVROLET CORVETTE DIM HEADLIGHT RECALL IS A SCAM. CHEVROLET DOES NOT FIX DIM HEADLIGHT FAILURE THEN DEMANDS OVER $750 TO REPAIR DIM HEADLIGHT FAILURE. FROM TIME OF DIM HEADLIGHTS COMING ON THEY FAIL AFTER ABOUT 10 MINUTES AND DO NOT FUNCTION AGAIN FOR HOURS AFTER CAR IS SHUT DOWN. (MOVING CAR HAS NO HEADLIGHTS UNTIL BRIGHT LIGHTS OR FOR LIGHTS ARE MANUALLY TURNED ON)
STEERING COLUMN LOCK IS DEFECTIVE CAN LOCK WHILE DRIVING THIS IS A KNOW ISSUE ON 2005 CORVETTES GM IS REFUSING TO FIX IT THEY ARE CLAIMING MY CARE WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL BUT IS SUFFERING THE SAME ISSUE AS OTHER VEHICLES THAT WERE RECALLED THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE ON MY VEHICLE. *TR
AFTER FILLING TANK, STRONG SMELL OF GAS IN PASSENGER COMPARTMENT, LINGERS FOR 10-15 MINUTES. SECOND FILL UP AFTER PURCHASE.
LOW BEAMS DON'T WORK BUT WHEN YOU HOLD IT BACK BRIGHT S ONLY WORK WHEN HELD BACK BUT WHEN LET LOOSE THEY GO OFF AND STILL NO LOW BEAMS.
TRANSMISSION CONTROL ON SHIFTER SHORTED CAUSING VEHICLE TO GET STUCK IN PARK POSITION. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY.THIS HAS HAPPENED TO QUITE A FEW 2005 CORVETTES BUT CHEVROLET HAS NOT ACKNOWLEDGED THAT IT IS A RECALL ITEM.
THE CAR LEAKS FUEL. WHEN PARKED OVER NIGHT IT LEAVES A PUDDLE OF FUEL IN FRONT OF REAR TIRE ON DRIVER SIDE
FUEL TANK IS SPLITTING FILLING CABIN AND GARAGE WITH FUMES.MOST NOTICEABLE AFTER FILLING THE TANK FULL
MY CORVETTE HAS A PROBLEM WITH FUEL SMELL COMING FROM THE CAR AFTER FILLING THE GAS TANK.
SERVICE ACTIVE HANDLING SYSTEM MESSAGE APPEARS INTERMITTINGLY, VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. DIDN'T NOTICE ANY HANDLING ISSUE BUT I AM CONCERNED THAT THE CAR WILL BEHAVE IN AN UNSAFE MANOR.
VEHICLE INTERMITTENTLY WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK. CAR HAS 79,000 MILES. USUALLY ABLE TO SHUT CAR OFF AND RESTART THE CAR TO ALLOW IT TO SHIFT OUT OF PARK, AND SOMETIMES CAN BUMP THE SHIFTER TOWARDS THE DASH WITH MY HAND WHICH ALLOWS - SOMEHOW - THE LOCKING MECHANISM TO RELEASE. VEHICLE IS STATIONARY ON FLAT GROUND USUALLY WHEN THIS OCCURS. HAS HAPPENED IN PARKING LOTS, AT HOME, IN DRIVE THROUGHS, ETC.
KEEP SHOWING " SERVICE ACTIVE HANDLING." I CALLED MY LOCAL CHEVY DEALER AND THEY SAID ALL OF THE RECALLS HAS BEEN DONE BUT IT SEEMS LIKE THEY DIDN'T DO A GOOD JOB FIXING IT. I BOUGHT 2 YEARS AGO, AND IT'S VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE WHEN ITS SLIPPERY OR RAINING. I ALMOST GOT REAR ENDED BECAUSE THE WHEELS LOCKED UP.
UNABLE TO SHIFT OUT OF "PARK", HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY. SAME SYMPTOMS AS OTHER POSTERS. STARTED AT ABOUT 40,000 MILES AND CONTINUES TO HAPPEN, NOW HAVE ABOUT 45,000 MILES AND IT HAS HAPPENED ABOUT 12 TIMES.
GEAR SHIFTER WILL NOT COME OUT OF PARK. AT TIMES IT WILL TAKE UP TO 5 MINUTES BEFORE THE GEAR SHIFTER WILL MOVE OUT OF PARK. THIS IS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM. THE DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT HAS IGNORED MY ONGOING COMPLAINT SINCE I PURCHASED THE CAR. THEY HAVE OFFERED NO HELP!
