LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT NOT WORKING. FUSE AND LAMP REPLACED. HEADLIGHT LOW BEAM STILL NOT FIXED. HEADLIGHT LOW BEAM WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT.
THE CAR HAS A OVERWHELMING GASOLINE VAPOR ODOR AFTER FILLING THE TANK.
RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE FOR LEAK PATH IN LEFT HAND FUEL PUMP MODULE FLANGE. WHEN I TOOK IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP, AFTER SMELLING GAS DURING FILL UPS, THEY SAID MY PROBLEM WAS A LEAK IN THE FUEL TANK AND THE RIGHT HAND SIDE TRANSFER MODULE WAS LEAKING NOT THE LEFT SIDE. HAD TO PAY FOR REPAIRS DUE TO THE RIGHT SIDE VERSUS THE LEFT SIDE WHEN THEY ARE BOTH MADE FROM THE SAME MATERIALS. CONTACTED GM AND THEY WOULD NOT HONOR THIS. THE RIGHT SIDE FUEL TAKE NEEDS TO BE RECALLED AS WELL THIS IS A DESIGN ISSUE AND A SAFETY ISSUE FOR HEALTH AND PARKING NEXT TO A GAS WATER HEATER.
GAS SMELL
STRONG SMELL OF GASOLINE ON LEFT SIDE OF CAR. NO VISIBLE LEAK ON THE FLOOR
FUEL SMELL COMING FROM THE LEFT SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. ONLY HAPPENS WHEN FUELED ABOVE 3/4 OF A TANK. CHEVROLET DEALER WAS CONCERNED ABOUT THE PROBLEM DURING AN OIL CHANGE AND TRIED TO GET GM TO CORRECT THE ISSUE BUT THEY WOULD NOT CITING THAT THE VEHICLE PASSED ALL FUEL PRESSURE AN LEAK TESTS. THE VEHICLE IS DANGEROUS TO PARK IN A GARAGE OR CLOSED AREA DUE TO THE VERY GOOD CHANCE OF IGNITION FROM STRONG FUMES. JUST AS DISTURBING IS THE FACT THAT THE EXHAUST SYSTEM IS BY THE SOURCE OF THE LEAK AND COULD IGNITE AT ANY TIME WHILE DRIVING. MANY OTHER CUSTOMERS HAVE COMPLAINED OF THIS ISSUE WITHOUT A RESOLUTION FROM THE MANUFACTURER OR IF GM HAS AGREED TO REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE PART (FUEL PUMP) THEY DO SO WITH THE SAME TYPE THAT HAS ALREADY FAILED. EVENTUALLY ONE OF THESE CARS IS GOING TO EXPLODE OR CATCH FIRE AN I GUESS THAT ONLY THEN WILL THE MANUFACTURER AND THE GOVERNMENT DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. I HAVE ATTACHED THE SERVICE REPORT WHERE THE DEALERSHIP ACKNOWLEDGED THE SMELL AND THE NOTICE FROM CHEVROLET. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS BEFORE THERE ARE INJURIES OR DEATHS BECAUSE OF THIS.
SERVICE ACTIVE HANDLING SYSTEM LIGHT COMES ON RANDOMLY, USUALLY AT LOW SPEEDS (35MPH OR LESS) OFTEN OR ALWAYS PRECEDED BY ABS TRIGGERING FOR NO REASON (JUST NORMAL DRIVING OR BRAKING WITHOUT TRACTION LOSS). IT LOOKS LIKE THIS EXACT ISSUE WAS RECALLED ON OLDER (BUT SAME GENERATION, C6 CORVETTE) VEHICLES, BUT NOT A COVERED ISSUE ON NEWER MODELS.
AUTOMATIC SHIFTER ASSEMBLY INTERMITTENTLY GETS STUCK IN PARK. THE CONDITION CONTINUES TO DETERIORATE. THE PROBLEM OCCURS WHEN THE CAR IS IN PARK. THE PROBLEM IS OCCURRING MORE OFTEN NOW THAN IN THE PAST.
RECALL RECEIVED FOR LEFT SIDE GAS LEAK BUT MY CAR HAS RIGHT SIDE GAS TANK LEAK THIS IS GOING TO COST $3K TO FIX A GAS LEAK IS A GAS LEAK AND VERY DANGEROUS.
THE CAR REEKS OF FUEL, PARTICULARLY NOTICEABLE AFTER PARKING IN THE GARAGE OVERNIGHT, AND AFTER FILLING IT WITH GAS. IT CAN ALSO BE SMELLED INSIDE THE CABIN WHILE DRIVING. THE SMELL IS EMANATING FROM THE DRIVERS SIDE TANK AREA. IT'S BEEN WIDELY REPORTED THIS IS CAUSED BY INFERIOR PLASTIC USED IN A NIPPLE AT THE TOP OF THE FUEL PUMP. THE PLASTIC CRACKS AND ALLOWS FUEL TO BE SPRAYED ALL OVER THE TOP OF THE TANK AND ON THE EXHAUST SYSTEM. SINCE MY CAR HAS AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, THE DRIVELINE HAS TO BE REMOVED TO ACCESS THE FUEL PUMP. THE COST OF REPAIR WILL BE IN THE $2500 TO $3000 RANGE, JUST TO REPLACE THE PUMP WITH A NEW ONE THAT WILL EVENTUALLY FAIL AGAIN SINCE GM HASN'T DONE ANYTHING TO FIX THE PROBLEM. GM SHOULD STEP UP AND RECALL THESE CARS BEFORE SOMEBODY'S HOUSE BURNS DOWN OR SOMEBODY IS KILLED. THE FUEL PUMP AND BLADDER/GAS TANK WERE REPLACE IN 2013. IT IS HAPPENING AGAIN AUGUST 2016.
WILL NOT COME OUT OF PARK AFTER BEING STARTED,THIS IS AN INTERMENT PROBLEM.THIS CORVETTE HAS ONLY 75,000 MILES ON IT.
I BOUGHT THIS CAR IN JULY 2016. IT ONLY HAS 21000 MILES ON IT. IT STAYS PARKED INSIDE THE GARAGE AND EVERY TIME I FEEL THE TANK I GET A STRONG GASOLINE SMELL. THIS SMELL IS STRONG AND FEELS THE GARAGE. I CHECKED AND FOUND A RECALL FOR THIS. I NEED TO KNOW WHAT TO DO.
I STOPPED THE CAR FOR ABOUT 1 MINUTE AT A DRIVE-THRU AND PUT THE SHIFT LEVER IN PARK WITH THE ENGINE ON. WHEN ATTEMPTING TO SHIFT BACK INTO DRIVE, WHILE PRESSING ON THE BRAKE AND SHIFT LEVER, I COULD NOT GET THE LEVER OUT OF PARK. AFTER TRYING SEVERAL TIMES I TURNED THE ENGINE OFF AND THEN RESTARTED THE CAR. AFTER SEVERAL MORE TRIES IT FINALLY SHIFTED OUT OF PARK. IN REVIEWING THIS AND OTHER WEB SITES I FOUND THAT THIS IS A COMMON CORVETTE PROBLEM. MY CAR ONLY HAS 17,728 MILES!! I BELIEVE THAT THIS IS A POTENTIALLY VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND COULD LEAVE ONE STRANDED EITHER IN POOR WEATHER CONDITIONS, POOR NEIGHBORHOODS, OR IN A PERILOUS SITUATION. DUE TO THE EXTENT OF THE PROBLEM INVOLVING SO MANY CORVETTES, I BELIEVE THAT A RECALL SHOULD BE MADE FOR THIS PROBLEM.
WHEN FUEL TANK IS FULL THERE ISAVERY STRONG SMELL OF FUEL. SO FAR NO LEAK ON GROUND. SMELL SO BAD CAN BE NOTIED FOUR CARS AWAY.

WHEN I PARK MY 2008 CORVETTE IN MY GARAGE THERE IS A STRONG GAS SMELL WITHOUT EVIDENCE OF A GAS LEAK UNDERNEATH MY CAR. ACCORDING TO CORVETTE FORUM THERES AND ISSUE WITH FUEL LEAKING OUT THE TOPS OF THE FUEL TANK AND DRIPPING ONTO THE EXHAUST POSING A FUEL HAZARD. IS THERE A FACTORY RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE?
MY 2008 CORVETTE STARTED SMELLING OF FUEL WHENEVER I FILLED IT UP. IT GRADUALLY GOT WORSE OVER THE YEARS. THE GARAGE WOULD REEK. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THE DRIVER'S SIDE GAS TANK IS LEAKING AND IT WOULD COST ME ABOUT $3,000 TO HAVE IT CHANGED OUT. MY VETTE ONLY HAS 52,000 MILES ON IT. I WAS NOT READY TO SPEND THAT AMOUNT SO I BROUGHT IT HOME. NOW IT HAS GOTTEN SO BAD WITH THE GASOLINE SMELL THAT I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE IT. I ALSO AM AFRAID TO PARK IT IN OUR GARAGE THAT HAS A GAS WATER HEATER IN IT. THIS IS A HUGE DEFECT AND THESE CARS SHOULD BE RECALLED AS THIS IS A TRUE THREAT TO SAFETY. I AM READY TO HIRE AN ATTORNEY FOR A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT BEFORE SOMEONE'S HOME BURNS DOWN OR DIES. I HAVE SEEN NUMEROUS ONLINE COMPLAINTS JUST LIKE MINE ABOUT THEIR 2008 VETTE. I WOULD THINK GM IS FULLY AWARE OF THIS ISSUE. THEREFORE IF THEY DO NOT ACT THERE COULD BE BLOOD ON THEIR HANDS. I LOVE MY CORVETTE BUT DRIVING IT IS NOT WORTH MY LIFE. I HAVE DOCUMENTATION FROM THE DEALERSHIP TO SHARE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET CORVETTE. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED, THE AIR CONDITIONING VENTS BEGAN TO RELEASE A THICK FOG. THE CONTACT TOUCHED THE STOP BUTTON AND EXITED THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT WAS FILLED WITH A THICK FOG, WHICH IMPAIRED VISIBILITY WITHIN THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A CERTIFIED MECHANIC WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT A BATTERY CABLE WAS ROUTED TIGHTLY UNDER THE AIR CONDITIONING LINE, CAUSING FRICTION THAT RUBBED THROUGH THE AIR CONDITIONING LINE. THE TUBING ATTACHED TO THE ASSEMBLY AND THE PROTECTIVE SLEEVE WERE REPLACED TO PREVENT FUTURE FRICTION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL INVOLVING THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000.
OVERWHELMING FUEL SMELL IN COCKPIT AFTER DRIVING
If I put more than 5 or 6 gallons of gas in the car there is a strong odor of gas in the car and around it. If I put the car in the garage it smells like gas through the whole house.
RECENTLY MY LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS WOULD RANDOMLY STOP WORKING. AT FIRST THEY WOULD GO OFF AND COME BACK ON AFTER A COUPLE MINUTES BUT NOW I'L BE LUCKY IF THEY TURN ON AT ALL. THE PROBLEM COMES FROM THE FUSE BOX LOCATED UNDER THE HOOD. IN THE BEGINNING I WOULD GET OUT OF MY CAR AND PLAY AROUND WITH THE LOW BEAM RELAY UNTIL THE LIGHTS CAME ON AND STAYED ON BUT NOW THAT DOES NOT EVEN HELP. ITS OBVIOUSLY A PROBLEM DUE TO THE FUSE BOX. I KNOW THERE ARE MANY OTHER CORVETTE OWNERS WHO HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. I HOPE GM WILL FIX THIS PROBLEM.
THE VEHICLE EMITS A STRONG ODOR OF GASOLINE WHEN IT IS PARKED IN MY GARAGE. REGARDLESS OF FUEL LEVEL THE SMELL OF GASOLINE IS PRESENT, BUT THE ODOR IS MORE SUBSTANTIAL WHEN THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN FILLED FULL FUEL. THE ODOR IS SO OVERWHELMING THAT I CAN NO LONGER PARK MY CAR INDOORS FOR FEAR OF THE GAS FUMES MAY BE IGNITED BY A SPARK.
CRACK ON FILLER NECK ON LEFT FUEL TANK WHICH I BELIEVE IS A MFG DEFECT IN THE MOLDING OF THE TANK. GM IS OF THE OPINION THAT THIS IS A WEAR AND TEAR ISSUE. I DISAGREE AS THE RIGHT TANK IS STILL PERFORMING WITHOUT PROBLEMS. VEHICLE HAS ONLY BEEN USED FOR COMMUTING AND NEVER ABUSED IN ITS 91,000+ MILES OF LIFE. I AM OF THE BELIEF THAT GM SHOULD REPLACE TANK UNDER THEIR 10 YEAR 120,000 MILE WARRANTY AS THE TANK IS NOT A MOVING PART. ALSO, WHEN TANK IS MORE THAN HALF FULL, FUEL ODOR FROM LEAK IS EXTREMELY STRONG AND POSSIBLY COMBUSTIBLE. THANK YOU. *TR

GAS LEAK FUMES THAT PROGRESSIVELY BECAME STRONGER UNTIL IT IS NOW IN THE CABIN. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO A MECHANIC FOR A DIAGNOSES AND IT IS THE FUEL PUMP OR PUMPS IN THE SADDLE BAG GAS TANKS. ORDER IS STRONGER AFTER FILL-UP AND I NEVER TOP OFF. THE FUMES ARE STRONGER ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE.

FUEL SMELL COMING FROM DRIVER SIDE REAR WHEEL AREA. VERY STRONG FUEL SMELL INSIDE THE CAR. GARAGE SMELLS LIKE FUEL FROM CAR SITTING AFTER BEING PARKED. TOOK IT TO A SHOP AND HAD IT LOOKED AT. THE TECH SAID THE FUEL PUMP IS LEAKING ON DRIVER SIDE WERE THE FUEL LINE IS CRACKED ON THE FUEL PUMP MODULE.
FUEL PUMP LEAKING GAS. THE DEALERSHIP HAS HAD THE VEHICLE FOR OVER A MONTH AND CANNOT FIND A PUMP. THIS WAS SUCH A BAD LEAK THAT THE GARAGE AND HOUSE SMELLS OF FUEL. I WAS AFRAID OF A FIRE. WHY IS IT THAT GM CAN GET AWAY WITH THIS? I OWN A VERY EXPENSIVE BRICK THAT COULD BE THE SOURCE OF A FIRE BUT I CANNOT FIND THE PART FOR THE DEALERSHIP TO FIX IT. GM SHOULD BE FORCED TO DO THE RIGHT THING AND PRODUCE THE PARTS FOR A RECALL.
THE CAR HAS A VERY STRONG GASOLINE SMELL WHEN THE GAS TANK IS FULL. THE SMELL IS SO STRONG IN THE GARAGE THAT I FEAR IT MAY CAUSE A FIRE.
THIS VEHICLE IN PARTICULAR AND THE C6 CORVETTE IN GENERAL IS EXPERIENCING A REOCCURRING PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION BECOMING LOCKED IN THE "PARK" POSITION OF THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. THIS PROBLEM INTERMITTENTLY OCCURS WHEN STOP THE VEHICLE AND PLACE IT IN PARK OFTEN TIMES IT WILL NOT COME OUT OF THE PARK POSITION. I WAS STOPPED BEHIND A STALLED VEHICLE AND ASSISTED THAT VEHICLE IN GETTING OUT OF A MOVING LANE OF TRAFFIC. WHEN I RE-ENTERED MY VEHICLE I COULD NOT MOVE IT BECAUSE IT WAS LOCKED IN THE PARK POSITION. MY VEHICLE THEN CREATED ANOTHER POTENTIAL LIFE THREATENING SITUATION FOR ME AND OTHER DRIVERS APPROACHING FROM THE REAR.
THE FUEL SYSTEM IS LEAKING. IT SENDS OUT GAS FUMES AND I HAVE A THREE CAR ENCLOSED GARAGE AND IT STILL FILLS UP THE GARAGE WITH FUMES SO BAD I SOMETIMES HAVE TO LEAVE THE VEHICLE OUTSIDE IN THE ELEMENTS IN ORDER TO BE ABLE TO GET TO THE CAR WITHOUT HOLDING MY BREATH SO THE FUMES CAN DISSIPATE. I AM GETTING THE FUEL PUMPS CHANGED AND THE ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM CHECKED OUT IN ORDER TO REMEDY THIS PROBLEM. ADDITIONALLY, THE FUEL MILEAGE HAS DRAMATICALLY DECREASED REGARDLESS OF WHERE I DRIVE ON THE HIGHWAY OR CITY.
I HAD NOTICED THE FAINT ODOR OF GAS FUMES AFTER THE CAR WAS PARKED FOR A FEW DAYS BUT THE SMELL WAS NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO TAKE ACTION. APPROXIMATELY SIX MONTHS LATER ON MARCH 24, 2016, NEW REAR TIRES WERE INSTALLED ON THE CAR AT A LOCAL TIRE DEALER AND THE TECHNICIAN NOTICED THE GAS LEAK NEAR THE DRIVERS SIDE FUEL TANK. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE GM DEALERSHIP AND THEY DIAGNOSED THE FUEL LEAK WAS NOT CAUSED BY ANY ABUSE, MODIFICATIONS, OR ACCIDENTAL CONTACT SUCH AS ROCKS. THE FAILURE WAS A FIT ISSUE BETWEEN THE TANK AND FUEL LINE CAUSED BY HEAT OVER TIME.
CAR HAS 20,000 MILES AND HAS DEVELOPED A GAS SMELL WHILE PARKED IN A GARAGE. IT SEEMS TO BE FROM THE RIGHT REAR OF THE CAR. WHEN THE SYSTEM IS BELOW 1/2 FULL THE SMELL IS LESS APPARENT.. THERE IS NO VISIBLE LEAK IN THE FUEL TANK AREA. I HAVE REPLACED THE CROSS OVER PIPE SEALS AND FUEL PUMP "O" RINGS. PROBLEM IS STILL PRESENT. WAS NOT AWARE OF HISTORY OF POSSIBLE DEFECTIVE PLASTIC ON THE FUEL PUMP FITTINGS. I WILL RUN TANK BELOW 1/2 TO SEE IF SMELL GOES AWAY. WILL MOST LIKELY REMOVE AGAIN OR ADDRESS WITH MY EXTENDED WARRANTY AS WITH MORE RESEARCH THIS SEEMS TO BE A QUITE COMMON PROBLEM AND POTENTIALLY SERIOUS. I MUST LET CAR SIT OUTSIDE FOR AWHILE AND ALLOW FUEL FUMES TO DIMINISH BEFORE I FEEL COMFORTABLE PUTTING CAR IN GARAGE. THIS SMELL CAN BE VERY HEAVY WHEN LEFT IN A CLOSED AREA RIGHT AFTER DRIVING. I CAN STILL SMELL FUEL FUMES WHILE DRIVING.
OCASSIONALLY, THE CAR WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK. THE ENGINE WILL START AS NORMAL BUT IT'S HUNG IN PARK. AFTER WE TURN THE CAR OFF, GET OUT WAIT A FEW MINUTES WE HAVE BEEN ABLE TO RESTART THE CAR AND DRIVE HOME. SO FAR WE HAVE BEEN LUCKY AND NOT STRANDED, BUT REALIZE IT'S JUST A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE WE ARE STRANDED IN A PARKING LOT OR REMOTE LOCATION AWAY FROM HOME OR HELP.
AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON. CONNECTOR UNDER DRIVERS SEAT WIRING IS TOO SHORT AND WIRE BUNDLE PULLED WITH SEAT MOVEMENT. BUNDLE FRAYED AND ONE WIRE PULLED OUT. THE SEAT MOVES IN AND OUT EVERY TIME I GET INTO AND OUT OF THE CAR. OWNED THE CAR SINCE NEW AND DEALER HAD REMOVED THE SEAT FOR SERVICE SEVERAL YEARS AGO, POSSIBLY REINSTALLED INCORRECTLY.
I HAVE FUEL SMELL FROM THE FUEL PUMP AREA. THE DEALER TELLS ME THAT THEY ARE ON BACK ORDER. THEY BELIEVE THAT THE PUMP MAY NEED REPLACING BUT THEY CANNOT TAKE THE CAR KNOWING THAT THEY CANNOT FIX IT. THEREFORE IT LEAKS IN MY CLOSED GARAGE. IT ONLY LEAKS WHEN THE TANK IS GREATER THAN HALF FULL.
AFTER A FUEL FILL UP AND PARKING THE 2008 CORVETTE IN THE GARAGE THERE IS A STRONG GASOLINE SMELL IN THE GARAGE AND INSIDE THE VEHICLE. IF I DO NOT DRIVE FOR A FEW DAYS THE SMELL STARTS TO DISSIPATE, BUT AFTER I DRIVE IT WILL BE STRONG AGAIN UNTIL THE FUEL LEVEL DROPS. MY CONCERN IS THE SAFETY ISSUE WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF A FIRE.
FUEL TANK CRACKING. FUEL TANK CRACKED AT THE INTERFACE WITH THE FUEL MODULE. EMITS RAW GASOLINE FUMES WHILE DRIVING AND PARKED. SMELL SO BAD IN GARAGE THAT DOOR MUST BE OPENED. IN MY CAR, NO SPOTS ON FLOOR HAVE BEEN PRESENT. CHEVROLET NEEDS TO ISSUE A RECALL BEFORE SOMEONE IS BURNED UP OR A HOUSE IS DESTROYED, INCLUDING OCCUPANTS. IS THAT WHAT IS TO BE REQUIRED BEFORE RECALL IS ISSUED?
STRONG FUEL SMELL INSIDE CAR AND IN GARAGE WHENEVER FUEL TANK IS FILLED ABOVE HALF. NO EVIDENCE OF FUEL ON THE GROUND BENEATH CAR. SMELL IS STRONGEST AROUND THE AREA ABOVE THE DRIVER'S SIDE FUEL TANK. NEW GAS CAP DID NOT FIX. NO CODES DISPLAYED FOR FUEL SYSTEM PROBLEM.
WHEN I FILL THE CORVETTE WITH GAS AND PARK IN THE GARAGE THE GAS FUMES ARE EXTREMELY STRONG, I DO NOT OVERFILL, THIS WILL ALSO HAPPEN ABOVE A HALF FULL TANK. MY CONCERN IS FOR THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY. WITH ALL THE ISSUES GM HAS HAD WITH OTHER FAILURES TO RECALL A VEHICLE TO CORRECT A OBVIOUS PROBLEM, THE IGNITION SWITCH FOR ONE AND GMS COMMITMENT TO THE CONSUMERS SAFETY AS BEING THEIR MAIN CONCERN THIS SHOULD BE A AUTOMATIC RECALL TO FIX THE PROBLEM BEFORE SOMEONE HAS TO BURY A LOVED ONE. BUT IT SEEMS THIS IS THE PROTOCOL FOR THE BIG AUTOMAKERS AND THE NHTSA BEFORE ANYTHING IS DONE, LET'S FOR ONCE RECALL A KNOWN ISSUE BEFORE THIS HAPPENS.
DRIVER'S SIDE FUEL TANK CRACKED AND LEAKING. DRIVE TRAIN HAD TO BE DROPPED TO ALLOW TANK TO BE REMOVED. TANK IS $900 + AND IS NOT COVERED BY ANY WARRANTY. NEW TANK IS ON BACKORDER WITH EDT OF 2-3 WEEKS. CHEVROLET WILL NOT COVER COST OF THE TANK UNDER THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. THERE ARE LITERALLY HUNDREDS OF 2008 CORVETTES WITH THIS SERIOUS PROBLEM. LOANER CAR IS COVERED FOR ONLY 5 DAYS. THIS TANK SHOULD BE RECALLED AS IT IS A SERIOUS, DANGEROUS RECURRING PROBLEM. LEAKS INSIDE GARAGES AND COULD BURN DOWN HOME WITH CAR. SOMEONE NEEDS TO ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM IMMEDIATELY. CHEVROLET SHOULD NOT ONLY BE REQUIRED TO COVER COST OF THE REPLACEMENT TANK AND INCONVENIENCE CAUSED BY BACKORDER OF REPLACEMENT PARTS THAT MAY BE DEFECTIVE ALSO.
AFTER REFILLING WITH GAS THERE IS A STRONG GASOLINE ODOR IN INTERIOR OF VEHICLE.
WHEN FILLING THE CAR WITH FUEL ABOVE THE HALF WAY MARK A STRONG ODOR OF GAS CAN BE SMELLED. OVER NIGHT THE SMELL IS SO STRONG IN THE GARAGE YOU NEED TO LEAVE THE DOOR CRACKED OPEN TO VENT THE FUMES. NO VISIBLE LEAK IS DETECTED ON THE GROUND OR NEAR FILLER NECK. AFTER DRIVE THE CAR AND GAS IS LESS THAN HALF A TANK THE ORDOR CAN NOT BE DETECTED.
DOCUMENTS ATTACHED DETAILING PROBLEM AND GM'S RESPONSE - THIS IS NOT A TYPICAL LENS FOGGING WITH AGE THAT CAN BE CLEANED WITH A STORE BOUGHT PRODUCT. I PUT 1/15/16 AS THE DATE BELOW AS THAT IS THE DATE I FIRST CONTACTED GM BUT THIS HAS FORMED OVER THE LAST NUMBER OF MONTHS.
AIR BAG LIGHT ON INSTRUMENT PANEL GOES ON AND OFF . CAME ON YESTERDAY THEN WENT OFF AGAIN . SEEMS LIKE THIS MAY BE CAUSED BY THE SEAT MOVING TO DIFFERENT POSITIONS. I CONTACTED OTHER PEOPLE WITH THIS SAME STYLE VEHICLE AND THEY ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. ALL THE DEALER WANTS TO DO IS CHANGE PARTS FOR A LOT OF MONEY. WITH AS MANY COMPLAINTS THEY ARE GETTING THIS SHOULD BE CORRECTED. LIGHT CAME ON WHEN CAR WAS STARTED. THE CAR HAS A MEMORY SEAT THAT MOVES BACK WHEN THE DRIVER EXITS THE VEHICLE..
