I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE NEW FROM A CHEVY DEALERSHIP IN EDEN PRAIRIE, MN. AFTER ONLY 2 MTHS, IT BEGAN INTERMITTENTLY HESITATING, LURCHING FORWARD WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE (WHILE SOMETIMES BLOWING HOT AIR FROM THE AC) & REFUSING TO ACCELERATE. MULTIPLE TIMES IT HAS COMPLETELY STALLED OUT (WHILE DRIVING 30-40 MPH ON A HIGHWAY & WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP ON A HILL RESULTING IN ROLLING BACKWARD). IT IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE 4TH TIME FOR THIS SPECIFIC ISSUE, BUT DOES NOT SHOW ANY CODES (NO SES LIGHT). THEY HAVE MADE MANY REPAIRS IN AN ATTEMPT TO FIX THIS ISSUE (LEAKING WATER PUMP, REPROGRAMS, WASTEGATE SOLENOID REPLACEMENT, ETC), BUT THE PROBLEM STILL PERSISTS. I AM CONCERNED THAT MY CAR WILL STALL WHILE ON A HIGHWAY OR PASSING THROUGH AN INTERSECTION, WHICH WOULD POSE A HUGE SAFETY THREAT. I HAVE SEEN NUMEROUS SIMILAR COMPLAINTS & WOULD LIKE GM TO ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY & REPLACE/RECALL THESE VEHICLES. *TR
JUST A FEW DAY'S AFTER BUYING OUR NEW CAR WE NOTICED ON OCCASION THE PASSENGER AIR BAG LITE WOULD NOT INDICATE ON.. TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY TRIED IT OUT AND IT WORKED FOR THEM.THE SECOND TIME WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THEY DID SEE THE CHEVY SAID THAT THEY COULD RESET SOMETHING AND IT WOULD HELP. THE THIRD TIME WE TOOK IT BACK TO THEY PUT A NEW SENSOR IN THE SEAT.. NOW IT IS UP THERE A 4TH TIME FOR THEM TO SEE WHAT IS GOING ON... THEY DEALER HAS BEEN WONDERFUL ON TRYING TO TAKE CARE OF THE ISSUE... I HAVE LOOKED ON THE INTERNET AND THERE IS SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ON THIS... CAN WE JUST REQUEST THAT CHEVY LET US BUY ANOTHER MODEL? *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET CRUZE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT AIR BAG LIGHT WOULD INTERMITTENTLY ILLUMINATE WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH AND ABOVE AND WHEN A PASSENGER WAS SEATED IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCES A SEVERE DELAY IN THROTTLE AND TRANSMISSION RESPONSE, TO THE POINT OF ENDANGERMENT. WHEN DRIVING AT 60-65MPH AND COMMANDING PASSING POWER, THE VEHICLE NORMALLY WILL BOG DOWN AS THE PEDAL IS DEPRESSED, THEN DISENGAGE THE GEAR, WAIT UP TO 3 SECONDS, REV UP 500-1,000RPM AND THEN ENGAGE THE GEAR AND BEGIN MOVING FORWARD (AT WHICH POINT IT IS WITHIN A FEW HUNDRED RPM OF REDLINE AND BOUNCES OFF OF THE FUEL CUTOFF.... WHILE IN DRIVE, NOT MANUAL MODE). THE TRANSMISSION ALSO SHIFTS HARSHLY UP AND DOWN RANDOMLY. UPON A COLD START, THE VEHICLE NEARLY STALLS WHEN COMING OUT OF A PARKING GARAGE WITH AN INCLINE, THEN PROCEEDS TO IDLE AT 1,800RPM AND PUSH THE VEHICLE FORWARD WITH NEARLY ENOUGH THRUST TO CAUSE A COLLISION IF THE BRAKE PEDAL IS NOT STOOD ON. THE VEHICLE HAS ALMOST STALLED ON ME WHILE DRIVING ON FLAT GROUND, A HANDFUL OF TIMES (SOMETIMES WHEN I TURN ON THE REAR DEFROSTER, SOMETIMES JUST COMING TO A STOP). ADDITIONALLY, THERE IS A PULSATING THAT CAN BE FELT THROUGHOUT THE CAR (MOST NOTABLY THROUGH THE BRAKE PEDAL) AND A GRINDING NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE BAY. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN BROUGHT IN TO POWER CHEVROLET IN MESA, ARIZONA WHERE THESE CONCERNS WERE BROUGHT UP, INCLUDING THE CONCERN FOR SAFETY, AT WHICH POINT THE ECM AND TCM WERE RESET TO DEFAULT VALUES (WHICH MADE THE TRANSMISSION EVEN MORE HORRIBLE, DUE TO DELETING THE ADAPTIVE VALUES). I WAS SPOKEN TO LIKE A CHILD AND GIVEN A PRINTOUT EXPLAINING HOW AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION AND AUTO-STOP FEATURE WORKED AND TOLD THAT THE PULSATING (WHICH IS WIDELY ACKNOWLEDGED AS A BAD AC COMPRESSOR PART FOR THIS VEHICLE AND WAS MENTIONED TO THE DEALER WHEN THE CAR WAS BROUGHT IN) AND OTHER ISSUES WERE NON-EXISTENT. I GUESS THAT I WILL HAVE TO WAIT FOR THESE PARTS TO FAIL, HOPING AND PRAYING THAT IT DOESN'T KILL ME OR MY PASSENGERS IN THE PROCESS, IN ORDER TO GET THESE ISSUES ADDRESSED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET CRUZE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, WHEN SHE BEGAN TO FEEL A LOT OF HEAT NEAR HER FEET. THE VEHICLE WAS MANEUVERED TO THE EMERGENCY LANE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE HEATER FELL APART AND RELEASED AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF EXTREMELY HOT WATER INTO THE VEHICLE. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED SECOND DEGREE BURNS ON HER FEET AS A RESULT. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, BUT THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, BUT THE CONTACT HAD NOT RECEIVED A RESPONSE FOR APPROXIMATELY TWO MONTHS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,000. UPDATED 10/31/12 *BF UPDATED 11/1/2012 *JS
MY COMPLAINT IS THE SIDE AIRBAG. MY 12 YEAR DAUGHTER AND MYSELF WERE IN A T-BONE TYPE ACCIDENT WHEN ANOTHER CAR RAN A STOP SIGN. $9000.00 DAMAGE TO MY 2011 CRUZE AND THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY ON THE SIDE.SHE WAS INJURED IN THE ACCIDENT I FEEL DUE TO THE AIRBAGS NOT DEPLOYING. I HAVE CALLED GM AND THE WILL INVESTIGATE BUT ACT AS IF ITS NO BIG DEAL...IT IS A BIG DEAL. *TR
THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFTS VERY HARD BETWEEN FIRST AND SECOND GEAR, AND SECOND AND THIRD GEAR. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE TRANSMISSION IS SHIFTING UP OR DOWN. THE OCCUPANTS IN THE VEHICLE GET A WHIPLASH EFFECT EVERY TIME THE CAR SHIFTS BETWEEN THESE GEARS. ALSO THE TRANSMISSION TAKES TOO LONG TO FIND A GEAR RESULTING IN THE VEHICLE NOT ACCELERATING WHEN THE DRIVER COMMANDS IT. THE CAR HAS STALLED WHILE STARTING DRIVING AWAY FROM A RED LIGHT FROM A FULL STOP, REQUIRING THE DRIVER TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN IN A CAR WITH AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. WHILE IN MOTION THE CAR WILL SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL AND WILL NOT RESPOND TO THE DRIVERS PUSH ON THE GAS PEDAL. IT WILL THEN SLAM INTO GEAR, CAUSING A MORE VIOLENT WHIPLASH EFFECT THAN WHEN IT IS SHIFTING AS MENTIONED EARLIER IN THIS COMPLAINT. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES FOR THESE ISSUES AND THEY KEEP TELLING ME THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS OPERATING NORMALLY. NO TRANSMISSION SHOULD OPERATE THIS WAY, AND NO OTHER VEHICLE I HAVE EVER DRIVEN OPERATES AS BAD AS THIS 2011 CHEVY CRUZE. THE GM CUSTOMER SERVICE PEOPLE HAVE OPENED MULTIPLE CASES AND TRIED TO HELP ME WITH THIS BUT THEY HAVE NOT FOLLOWED THROUGH WELL ENOUGH AND I AM STUCK WITH A DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION IN THIS CAR. *TR
WHEN YOU BACK OFF THE THROTTLE AND SLOW TO 20 TO 25 MPH, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT THE CAR WILL DO. IT MAY COAST LIKE A NORMAL CAR. IT MAY DOWNSHIFT AND SLOW MODERATELY. OR IT MAY DOWNSHIFT TO FIRST GEAR AND SLOW RADICALLY. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, THE COMPUTER TAKES FULL CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. YOU STEP ON THE GAS AND NOTHING HAPPENS. THE COMPUTER HAS CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE FOR THE NEXT 5 SECONDS. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 40 DIFFERENT TIMES. THIS CREATES A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. FIRST, I AM IN THE DRIVER SEAT AND I SHOULD HAVE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. I DO NOT. SECONDLY, MOST PEOPLE DRIVE WITH THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC. IF I SLOW RADICALLY FOR ABSOLUTELY NO REASON AND ALL OF THE DRIVERS AROUND ME CONTINUE ON, SOMEONE BEHIND ME WILL RUN INTO ME. IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE A DISTRACTED DRIVER SMASHES INTO ME. AND THIRDLY, SINCE I NEVER TOUCHED THE BRAKE, THE BRAKE LIGHT NEVER CAME ON. THE DRIVER BEHIND ME HAVE NO WAY OF KNOWING THAT I AM RADICALLY SLOWING AND CREATING SUCH A DANGEROUS SITUATION. IF YOU STEP ON THE GAS TO GET THE CAR TO GO, NOTHING HAPPENS. THEN THE COMPUTER RETURNS CONTROL TO THE DRIVER AND THE CAR TAKES OFF AT FULL SPEED. IF YOU STEP ON THE BRAKE, THE COMPUTER TAKES OVER. YOU THEN MUST COME TO A FULL COMPLETE STOP BEFORE THE COMPUTER WILL RETURN CONTROL TO THE DRIVER. IF YOU ARE MAKING A TURN WHEN THE CAR RADICALLY SLOWS, YOU COULD VERY EASILY LOOSE CONTROL. WHEN THE PAVEMENT IS WET OR SLIPPERY, THE PROBLEM IS GREATLY INCREASED. YOU ARE TOTALLY AT THE MERCY OF AN INSANE COMPUTER. FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME IF YOU NEED ANY FURTHER INFORMATION. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET CRUZE. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. SHE WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND CONTINUE DRIVING NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS INSPECTED AND DIAGNOSED WITH A FAULTY FUEL INJECTOR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS AWARE OF THE FAILURE. NO REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 12,528. UPDATED 09/21/11 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THERE IS A HESITATION FROM THE VEHICLE, WHEN TRYING TO PULL OUT IN TRAFFIC. THE CONSUMER NOTICED THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL WHEN THE AC WAS ON HIGH. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET CRUZE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SHIFTER WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER AND THAT THE SHIFT CABLE WAS FAULTY. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO SHIFT INTO FIRST OR SECOND GEAR. WHILE DOWNSHIFTING AT 25 MPH, THE SHIFTER WOULD BECOME STUCK AND CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO COAST WHILE IN TRAFFIC. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER BUT THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO LOCATE A FAILURE WITHIN THE SHIFTER. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER REGARDING THE FAILURE AND WAS ADVISED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER THEN ADJUSTED THE SHIFTER CABLE, WHICH REMEDIED THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200.
I WAS DRIVING AT 30 MPH AND LOOKING TO CHANGE LANES. I BACKED OFF THE THROTTLE TO LET ONE CAR PASS. JUST WHEN THERE WAS AN OPENING IN TRAFFIC AND I WAS READY TO ACCELERATE, THE COMPUTER TOOK FULL CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE DOWNSHIFTED TO FIRST GEAR AND RAPIDLY SLOWED TO 10 MPH. AT THIS POINT THERE WAS NO LONGER AN OPENING IN TRAFFIC AND I HAD TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AND WAIT FOR ANOTHER OPENING IN TRAFFIC. I HAVE AN EXCELLENT DRIVING RECORD AND I DID NOT ACCOMPLISH THIS BY DOING STUPID THINGS LIKE COMING TO A DEAD STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD FOR NO REASON. I CONTINUED ON. A QUARTER OF A MILE DOWN THE ROAD I BACKED OFF THE THROTTLE TO SLOW FOR A CURVE. AGAIN THE COMPUTER TOOK FULL CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. WHEN I WENT TO ACCELERATE, THE VEHICLE BOGGED TERRIBLY. FOR THE NEXT 5 SECONDS I HAD ABSOLUTELY NO THROTTLE RESPONSE. AGAIN I AM SLOWING FOR NO REASON AND CREATING A HAZARD. I CONTINUED ON. TWO MILES DOWN THE ROAD I STOPPED FOR A TRAFFIC LIGHT. I WAS LOOKING TO MAKE A HALF LEFT. WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, I EASED FORWARD AT TWO MILES AN HOUR WAITING FOR AN OPENING IN TRAFFIC. WHEN THERE WAS AN OPENING IN TRAFFIC, I BEGAN MY TURN AND STEPPED ON THE GAS. THE VEHICLE CONTINUED AT THE SAME SPEED AND THEN BEGAN TO ACCELERATE VERY SLOWLY. I NEARLY GOT HIT BY AN ONCOMING CAR. THE OTHER DRIVER DID NOT EXPECT ME TO CONTINUE MY TURN AT 2 MPH. I CONTINUED ON. ANOTHER TWO MILES DOWN THE ROAD, THE VEHICLE FAILED AGAIN. I WAS EASING FORWARD AT 2 MPH, WAITING FOR AN OPENING IN TRAFFIC TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN. WHEN IT WAS CLEAR I BEGAN MY TURN AND GAVE THE CAR THROTTLE. AGAIN THE CAR FAILED TO ACCELERATE. I WAS THEN FORCE TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP AND WAIT FOR A VERY LARGE OPENING IN TRAFFIC. AGAIN THE DRIVERS BEHIND ME ARE WONDERING WHY I AM STOPPING FOR NO REASON. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET CRUZE. THE CONTACT STATED SHE REPORTED PROBLEMS WITH THE HANDLING OF THE VEHICLE WITHIN THE FIRST THREE MONTHS. PROBLEMS REPORTED INCLUDED: SHIFTING ISSUES IN WHICH THE VEHICLE APPEARED TO SLIP OUT OF GEAR, THE VEHICLE INTERMITTENTLY LUNGED FOWARD WHEN HER FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE, WHEN IN PARK AND ONCE WHILE DRIVING. SHE ALSO REPORTED INCIDENCES OF UNUSUALLY LONG PERIODS OF HESITATION WHEN STEPPING ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE SERVICE STABLIIZER, SERIVCE POWER STEERING, TRACTION CONTROL AND ENGINE LIGHTS ILLUMINATED PERIODICALLY AS WELL AS THE INSTRUMENT PANEL GOING BLANK WHILE DRIVING. UPDATED 01/04/12*BF
MY WIFE WENT TO THE BANK AND WHEN SHE STARTED OUR NEW CHEVY CRUZE THE POWER STEERING LIGHT CAME ON AND THE POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET CRUZE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS AND LETTING OFF THE ACCELERATOR, THE VEHICLE WOULD DOWNSHIFT SLOWLY OR AGGRESSIVELY. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY A DEALER AND THEY ADVISED HIM THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE AND THAT THE COMPUTER WAS LEARNING THE CONTACT'S WAY OF DRIVING. IN ADDITION, WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE TO HIGHER SPEEDS THE VEHICLE WOULD CREEP AND SLOWLY ACCELERATE. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED A SECOND TIME AND THEY TEST DROVE BUT WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 7. UPDATED 09/02/11*LJ
I WAS AT A STOP LIGHT WAITING FOR LIGHT TO TURN GREEN AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE SPEEDOMETER JUMPS TO 45 MPH AND STAYS THERE A COUPLE SECONDS THEN SLOWLY DROPS BACK DOWN TO 0MPH. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES BUT ONLY WHEN I AM SITTING AT A LIGHT. ONE TIME I PRESSED I THE ACCELERATOR TO GO WHILE IT WAS DOING IT AND IT STILL READ 35-40 MPH WHEN I WAS JUST CREEPING ALONG FROM A STAND STILL. *TR
SITTING AT A STOP LIGHT, THE SPEEDOMETER WENT UP TO OVER 60MPH AND SLOWLY FELL BACK DOWN TO ZERO. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES SINCE THE INITIAL INCIDENT. I TOOK IT INTO THE DEALER WHERE I BOUGHT IT AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THE SPEEDOMETER AND NEEDED TO ORDER A NEW ONE. I DECIDED TO WAIT UNTIL I MOVED (I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF A CROSS COUNTRY MOVE) AND WHEN I TOOK IT IN FOR THE 7500 MILE MAINTENANCE, I ASKED THE DEALER SERVICE CENTER IN MY NEW CITY TO CHECK OUT THE SPEEDOMETER. THEY DIDN'T FIND ANYTHING AND CAN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT UNTIL ONE OF THEIR TECHNICIANS WITNESSES IT. *TR
RECEIVED A RECALL #12081,WE TOOK THE CAR INTO THE LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALER IN CONWAY SC FOR THE REPAIRS ,ABOUT 45 MIN. .WHEN IT WAS COMPLETED ,I ASKED THE SERVICE ADVISER ,HOH IT WAS REPAIRED. HE SAD IT WAS REWORKED AND MODIFIED PER CHEVROLET SPECS . LITTLE DID I KNOW. THERE REPAIRS CONSIST OF REMOVING MOST OF THE SHIELD AND LEAVING THE ENGINE AND WIRING LEFT UNPROTECTED TO THE ELEMENTS ON THE ROADS.ALL THEY HAD TO DO WAS CUT A ACCESS HOLE IN THE PLATE TO GET TO THE OIL DRAIN PLUG /HONESTLY IT LOOKS LIKE IT WAS DONE IN SUCH A HURRY TO JUST SAVE A FEW DOLLARS . 8 CALLS LATER , THEY ALL SAID THE SAME THING,THAT IS HOW THE ENGINEERS SAID TO DO THE REPAIRS. SORRY THAT ALL WE CAN DO FOR YOU,CHEVROLET THANKS YOU FOR YOUR CONCERNS. *TR
THE FIRST SAFETY ISSUE WAS NOTICED WITHIN THE FIRST WEEK OF OWNERSHIP. THE AIR BAG INDICATOR LIGHT INDICATED "OFF" WITH AN ADULT PASSENGER IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. THIS CAR HAS BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP 4 TIMES FOR THIS ISSUE AND IT REMAINS UNSOLVED. THE SECOND SAFETY ISSUE WAS NOTICED IN OCTOBER OR NOVEMBER 2012. THE CAR FILLS WITH AN ODOR OF ANTI-FREEZE WHEN THE HEATER IS IN USE. THE CAR HAS BEEN TO DEALERSHIP 4 TIMES FOR THIS ISSUE AND IT REMAINS UNSOLVED. I FEEL THESE ARE BOTH EXTREME SAFETY ISSUES THAT SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED AS IT APPEARS TO BE A PROBLEM IN MANY OF THE 2011 CRUZES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET CRUZE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HESITATED TO ACCELERATE WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. WHEN COMING TO A FAST STOP, IT CLUNKS AND THEN LUNGES - SO FIRM PRESSURE ON THE BRAKE PEDAL IS NECESSARY NOT TO HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. WHILE 2011 CHEVY CRUZE WAS AT MATICK CHEVROLET FOR STEERING SHAFT RECALL (@ APPROX. 9000 MILES) I REQUESTED THAT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT INSPECT THE LEFT FRONT TIRE FOR AN AIR LEAK. I SUGGESTED IT COULD BE THE INTERNAL AIR PRESSURE SENSOR WAS SLOWLY LEAKING. I WORK IN THE AUTO SUPPLY CHAIN AND I HAVE HEARD OF THE PRESSURE SENSORS LEAKING AIR. DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME THAT CHECKED FOR AIR LEAKS IN A WATER TANK AND COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING. THE TIRE CONTINUES TO LOSE APPROXIMATELY 5 PSI OVER A 3 OR 4 WEEK PERIOD. I HAVE A 2011 CHEVY CRUZE IT HAS A SHIFTING PROBLEM. I WAS DRIVING IT HOME ONE DAY AND THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT SHIFT AND THE CAR BASICALLY STOPPED SUDDENLY. THE CAR LOSES POWER WHEN I STEP ON THE GAS FOR THREE-FIVE SECONDS BEFORE SLOWLY RESPONDING AND ACCELERATING TO WHERE I NEED IT TO BE. IT'S AS IF THE CAR DIES FOR A FEW SECONDS. THOSE FEW SECONDS ARE ALWAYS IN SITUATIONS WHEN I NEED TO BE MOVING AND I DON'T LIKE IT. I BROUGHT THE CAR IN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS TURBO LAG. THINKING I DIDN'T KNOW MUCH ABOUT CARS, I LET IT GO. THE NEWER CRUZE DID NOT HAVE THE HESITATION PROBLEM AT ALL, IT DROVE BEAUTIFULLY. THIS LEADS ME TO BELIEVE THAT GM REALIZED THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE 2011 CRUZE AND WAS ABLE TO REMEDY IT IN THE NEWER MODELS OF THE CAR WHICH LEAVES THE MANY 2011 CRUZE OWNERS SCARED FOR THEIR LIVES EVERY TIME THEY DRIVE THEIR CARS FOREVER. COME TO FIND OUT, GM HAS A LIST OF PHONES THAT ARE SUPPOSED TO WORK WITH THE CRUZE. ALL OF THEM DON'T EVEN WORK. I'VE BEEN BOUNCED ALL OVER TO DIFFERENT REPAIR SHOPS TO NO AVAIL. I WOULD LIKE TO PUT IN A COMPLAINT ON MY CHEVY CRUZE 2011. SINCE PURCHASING IT, THERE HAVE BEEN 3 RECALLS DUE TO STEERING AND ENGINE. I HAVE HAD TO BRING THE CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP 3 SEPARATE TIMES FOR THE RECALLS BEGINNING ONE MONTH AFTER PURCHASE. NOW, THE CAR HAS HAD 2 SEPARATE MAJOR PROBLEMS (ENGINE & CURRENTLY BACK AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR PROBLEM RELATED TO TRANSMISSION), THIS VEHICLE HAS BROKEN DOWN ONCE WHILE IN HEAVY TRAFFIC, BUT LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, AND THE SECOND TIME IT BROKE DOWN WAS ON A STREET LESS HEAVILY TRAVELED, HOWEVER, I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED. IF THIS WOULD'VE OCCURRED WHILE ON A HEAVILY TRAVELED OR FASTER SPEED ZONE, I FEEL THAT A TERRIBLE CRASH WOULD HAVE HAPPENED. BOTH TIMES MAY HAVE RESULTED IN SERIOUS INJURY OR EVEN DEATH. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THE VEHICLE AND WOULD RATHER IT SIT IN THE DRIVEWAY THAN TO RISK DRIVING IT. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET CRUZE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT THE VEHICLE COULD BE TOWED BEHIND A RV. HE READ THE MANUAL THAT STATED THAT HE WOULD HAVE TO REMOVE FUSE 22 WHICH CAUSED HIM TO LOSE 12 VOLTS AND HE COULD NOT OPERATE THE AUXILIARY AFTERMARKET BRAKING SYSTEM. THE CONTACT CALLED AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO STATED THAT THEY WOULD PLACE A WIRE AROUND IT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER WHO STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 3,800. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 2,000. I WOULD LIKE TO FILE A COMPLAINT ON A 2011 CHEVY CRUZE FOR THE REASON THAT THE TRANSMISSION HAS AN ISSUE THAT MAY LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT THE TRANSMISSION COMES OUT OF GEAR WHILE DRIVING AND SITS IN NEUTRAL THEN POPS BACK INTO DRIVE THIS IS VERY UNSAFE I HAVE CONTACTED GM ON THE ISSUE AS WELL AS MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND HAVE HAD NO POSITIVE FIX TO THE ISSUE I FEEL THAT THIS MAY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT AND NEEDS TO BE LOOKED INTO. *TR
WHILE TEST DRIVING THE NEW 2011 CHEVY CRUZE I NOTICED THAT THE WINDSHIELD IS VERY SMALL AND THE REARVIEW MIRROR BLOCKS THE DRIVERS VIEW IM AND AVG 5'6 AND I COULD NOT SEE VERY WELL AT ALL . WHEN I TOLD THE DEALER ABOUT IT I WAS ENCOURAGED TO MOVE ON TOP ANOTHER VEHICLE IF I DIDN'T LIKE IT. I FEEL THIS ITS A SAFETY HAZARD . *TR
I BOUGHT A 2011 CHEVY CRUZE FROM A OWNER, AND I DID NOT PAY ATTENTION TO THE PASSENGER DOOR HANDLE UNTIL AFTER I BOUGHT IT. THE THIN METAL WAS COMING OFF THE HANDLE. I TOUCHED IT AND IT CUT MY FINGER. I CALLED THE CHEVROLET PLACE CLOSE TO MY AREA AND THEY QUOTED ME A PRICE OF $80.00. I CALLED GMC, SINCE THE CAR IS FAIRLY NEW, AND DID NOT GET ANY HELP. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP, AND THE OFFICE MANAGER CAME OUT (HE WAS IN A WHEELCHAIR) TO LOOK AT THE DOOR. HE TOUCHED IT AND IT CUT HIS FINGER. I WAS CONCERNED ABOUT SOMEONE GETTING A CUT FROM THAT METAL SO I PAID TO HAVE THE HANDLE REPLACED. MY MAJOR CONCERN IS IF THIS CONTINUES TO HAPPEN WITH THESE DOOR HANDLES IN LESS THAN 3 YEARS OLD, AND SOME ONE IS DIABETIC, OR A SMALL CHILD GETS CUT AND INFECTED IT WOULD NOT BE A GOOD THING. WHEN I SAID THIS TO THE OFFICE MANAGER, HE INFORMED ME HE WAS A DIABETIC. I HAVE WENT ONLINE AND SAW ALL THE RECALLS FOR THIS PARTICULAR CAR. THE PREVIOUS OWNER ASSURED ME HE HAD THE RECALLS FIXED, BUT I DID NOT REALIZE THERE WERE SO MANY UNTIL AFTER I BOUGHT THE CAR. I PAID CASH FOR THIS CAR AND HAVE YET TO GET A TITLE. I CONTINUE TO CALL THE OWNER WHO EITHER IGNORES ME OR ISN'T GETTING MY CALL. I CALLED HIS WIFE YESTERDAY AND SHE ASSURED ME HER HUSBAND HAD THE TITLE. I HAD RECENTLY CALLED THE PREVIOUS OWNER AND ASK FOR PAPERWORK WHERE THE RECALL WORK WAS DONE. I HAVE HAD NO RETURN CALLS... AT THIS POINT WHAT SHOULD I DO? I FEEL LIKE I'VE BEEN SHAFTED, BUT I PAID 13000.00 FOR THE CAR AND THE PREVIOUS OWNER ASSURED ME I WOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY ADVELORUM TAXES, HE SAID THIS WAS TAKEN CARE OF. NOW ACCORDING TO THE TAG OFFICE I WILL HAVE TO PAY ANOTHER 800.00 OR SO FOR THE TAG WHICH I CAN'T GET WITHOUT A TITLE. *TR
EVER SINCE THE PURCHASE OF THE CAR I HAVE EXPERIENCED A HESITATION UPON ACCELERATION AT ALL SPEEDS. I HAVE ALSO TALKED TO A FEW PEOPLE WHO HAVE HAD THE SAME COMPLAINT WITH THEIR CRUZE. WE HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THIS EFFECT IS KNOWN AS TURBO LAG. THE DEALERS SAY THE TURBO CHARGER TAKES TIME TO CATCH UP WITH THE ROTATION SPEED OF THE ENGINE. I HAVE DRIVEN MANY CARS WITH TURBO CHARGE IN MY LIFE AS AN AUTO MECHANIC AND HAVE NEVER FELT THIS HESITATION ON ANY OF THEM. WHY WOULD A TURBO CHARGER LAG WHEN IT'S WHOLE PURPOSE IS TO ENHANCE ACCELERATION. I TOOK THE CAR IN TO THE DEALER FOR THE LAST RECALL AND ASKED THEM TO CHECK INTO THIS PHENOMENA WHILE IT WAS IN THE SHOP. THEY WROTE ON THE REPAIR ORDER THAT THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE MY COMPLAINT DURING THE ROAD TEST. I AM CONCERNED BECAUSE A HESITATION OF THIS SORT CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS ESPECIALLY PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS MATTER. THIS CAR EXHIBITS A HESITATION FROM A STOP AND ALSO CRUISING UPON ACCELERATION, A SYMPTOM I HAVE ALSO READ ABOUT IN SOME OF THE COMPLAINTS ALREADY FILED ON THE SITE. AS WITH MOST COMPLAINTS SUBMITTED TO THE DEALER THE TECHNICIAN SAID HE COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WHEN I TOOK IT IN TO BE LOOKED AT. AFTER TALKING TO A FEW CRUZE OWNERS ONE OF THEM SAID HE WAS TOLD THE PROBLEM WAS DUE TO " TURBO LAG ". THIS IS A PERIOD IN TIME THAT THE TURBO MOTOR MUST CATCH UP TO THE RPM'S OF THE ENGINE WHICH RESULTS IN THE HESITATION. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS WHEN TRYING TO ENTER A HIGHWAY OR MANEUVER OUT OF A CRITICAL SITUATION. GM MUST ACKNOWLEDGE THIS MALFUNCTION AND RECALL AFFECTED VEHICLES AND REPAIR THEM WHICH CAN BE DONE BY TWEEKING THE TURBO TO SYNC WITH THE ENGINE.
THE DRIVER'S SIDE FLOOR MATS ON OUR 2011 CHEVY CRUZE ARE SUPPOSED TO ATTACH TO TWO RUBBER PINS ON THE FLOOR CARPET. HOWEVER, THE ATTACHING MECHANISM DOES NOT WORK AND THE FLOOR MATS ARE EASILY PUSHED FORWARD AND BEGIN BUNCHING UP UNDERNEATH THE GAS AND BREAK PEDALS. THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION. I AM LOOKING AT TEMPORARILY REPLACING THE MATS WITH A HEAVIER RUBBERMAID MAT. CHEVY NEEDS TO FIX THIS PROBLEM IMMEDIATELY. *TR
