BEEN HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE TURBO FOR SOME TIME. HAD IT FIXED ONCE AND NOW ITS GOING BAD AGAIN. WHEN YOU GO INTO PASSING GEAR IT BOGS DOWN. NOT GOOD IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. I LOVE MY CAR.AND IT HASNT GIVEN ME ANY PROBLEMS BUT THAT.
SEAT BELT NO LONGER WORKS. IT IS NOT PULLING OR RETIGHTENING LIKE IT SHOULD. NOT SURE HOW OR WHY. I RARELY HAVE ANYONE IN THE BACK SEATS. IT'S THE BACK DRIVER'S SIDE.
BRAKE ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL SHOWS ON THE DASH BOARD DISPLAY AND WHEN I CHECKED IT WITH SERVICE THEY FOUND NO ODB2 OR ANY SERVICE ISSUE?
WHILE DRIVING, A SUDDEN ONSET OF DANGEROUSLY STRONG SMELLING VAPOR / FUMES EXPELLED THROUGH THE VENTILATION SYSTEM CAUSING ADVERSE REACTION TO DRIVER AND PASSENGERS. HAPPENS WHILE HEAT IS ON, BUT DOES NOT HAPPEN WHEN AIR CONDITIONING IS USED.
MY CAR OVERHEATS EVERY TIME THE SEASONS CHANGE. ONE DAY IT WILL BE RUNNING FINE WITH NORMAL TEMPERATURE READINGS, I KEEP A CLOSE EYE ON THE TEMPERATURE DUE TO IT'S TENDENCY TO OVERHEAT, AND THEN THE NEXT MOMENT IT IS SMOKING AND IDLING MY ENGINE SECONDARY TO "HIGH ENGINE TEMPERATURE"
The contact owns a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze. The contact stated that on several occasions while the vehicle was parked, there was smoke coming from the engine compartment. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic twice where it was diagnosed that unknown parts needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure reoccurred after approximately a week. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 200,000.
MY SON WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD LAST WEEK AND DASH FLASHED STABILINK AND HE LOST ALL POWER AND FORCES HIM TO TRY TO PULL OVER WHICH HE COULD BECAUSE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP AND BRAKES GOT HARD TO PUSH. A WEEK LATER STABILINK FLASHED AGAIN AND THEN WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD HE HAD TO SLAM ON BRAKES FOR A STOPPED VEHICLE AND BRAKES WOULD WORK AND STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP AGAIN RESULTING IN HIM REAR ENDING THE VEHICLE.
MY DAUGHTER PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE AT ALAN WEBB CHEVROLET LESS THAN 2 MONTHS AGO THE VEHICLE WAS USED AND HAD 129,000 MILES ON IT. LESS THAN 2 WEEKS AFTER SHE GOT IT, THE VEHICLE OVERHEATED WHILE DRIVING AND A/C CAME ON AND WOULD NOT TURN OFF. COME TO FIND OUT THERE WAS NO ANTIFREEZE, AS THE RESERVOIR WAS BONE DRY. SHE PUT SOME ANTIFREEZE IN IT AND IT STILL OVERHEATED WHILE DRIVING A COUPLE WEEKS LATER. SHE TOOK IT TO A LOCAL MECHANIC WHO STATED SHE NEEDED TO REPLACE THE HEAD GASKET. WE THEN CALLED THE DEALERSHIP TO COMPLAIN AND THEY STATED THEY HAD TO REPLACE SOME HOSES WHEN THEY FIRST RECEIVED THE CAR, SO THEY ASKED US TO BRING IT IN. THEY AGAIN REPLACED SOME HOSES, STATING THERE WAS A LEAK, WHICH THE OTHER MECHANIC SAID THERE WASN'T. THEY REPLACED A HOSE AGAIN AND PUT A CLAMP ON IT. NOW, ONLY ABOUT 1 OR 2 LATER, HER CAR OVERHEATED YET AGAIN. WHAT I BELIEVE IS THE SURGE TANK HOSE, WAS BROKEN AND ANTIFREEZE WAS ALL OVER HER ENGINE. THE PLASTIC INSIDE THE HOSE WAS BROKEN. NOW IT IS ONCE AGAIN AT THE DEALERSHIP, WHO FOR SOME REASON REFUSE TO FIX THE ROOT PROBLEM. WE ARE CONCERNED THEIR FAILURE TO FIX THE ISSUE WILL RESULT IN A CRACKED ENGINE BLOCK AND A NON-OPERATIONAL VEHICLE, WHICH SHE OWES OVER $7,000 STILL AS SHE JUST GOT IT. PLEASE HELP, THIS HAS BEEN DISAPPOINTING TO WATCH MY 18 YR OLD BUY HER FIRST CAR AND SUCH A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.
MY ENGINE IS LEAKING OIL AND MY TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING. AFTER I FILLED UP THE GAS TANK ONE DAY THE CAR JERKED AND THE ENGINE LIGHT NEVER WENT OFF. I GOT IN THE CAR PUT MY SEAT BELT ON LEFT MY HOUSE TO GO TO THE GROCERY STORE AND I HEARD A DING SOUND LIKE I HAD NOT CLICKED MY SEAT BELT IN. I THOUGHT THIS IS ODD I TRIED TO UNLOCK IT BY PUSHING ON THE BUTTON BUT IT WOULD NOT POP OUT I HAD A TOENAIL CLIPPER IN MY PURSE AND WHEN I GOT TO THE GROCERY I HAD TO WIGGLE IT AROUND TO FREE MYSELF OF THE SEAT BELT DUE TO IT BEING STUCK IT FINALLY POPPED OUT NOW I CAN NOT WEAR MY BELT BECAUSE IT WILL NOT GO BACK IN . I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS NOR BEEN IN ANY ACCIDENTS SO I'M CONFUSED AS TO WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT. I WAS ON A CITY STREET SITTING AT A RED LIGHT WHEN THE SENSOR FOR THE SEAT BELT WENT OFF
THIS CAR HAS GIVE ME WAY MORE TROUBLE THAN IT IS WORTH. IT KEPT OVERHEATING EVEN WITH ANTIFREEZE IN IT. THE AC WOULD BLOW HOT AND THE CAR JERKS TERRIBLY BAD! ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON. I WAS TOLD IT WAS THE BATTERY GOT THAT FIXED. STILL OVERHEATED. THEN TOLD THERE WAS A CRACK IN THE RESERVOIR AND GOT THAT FIXED. IT BLEW HOT A WEEK LATER AND HAD SMOKE COMING OUT COULDN'T EVEN GO ACROSS MEMPHIS BRIDGE. MECHANIC SAYS IT'S THE HEAD GASKET WHICH IS LIKE A 2K LABOR TAG! *TR
PASSENGER HEADLIGHT WILL NOT KEEP LOW BEAM/HIGH BEAM ON EVEN WITH NEW BULBS, CHANGED SOCKET CONNECTORS, PROBLEM SEEMS TO REAPPEAR, HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING AND STATIONARY
DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE DOING 70-80MPH AND THE CAR STARTS DINGING-STABILITRACK, TRACTION CONTROL, AND REDUCED POWER ALL COME ON AND THE CAR LOSES POWER WITHOUT ANY WARNING AND COULDN'T DRIVE FASTER THAN 5 MPH AND HAD TO GET TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD WITHOUT GETTING HIT BY OTHER VEHICLES DOING THE SAME SPEED. THIS VEHICLE WITH THIS ISSUE THAT CAME OUT OF NOWHERE SHOULD NOT BE DRIVEN ON THE ROAD. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL ISSUES WITH THIS VEHICLE AND CEL LIGHTS ON BUT NOTHING THAT ALMOST COMPLETELY STOPS VEHICLE WITHOUT WARNING AND ALMOST KILLS EVERYONE IN THE CAR! I GET THEY ARE TRYING TO SAVE THE ENGINE OR WHATEVER FROM FURTHER DAMAGE BUT I AM PRETTY SURE THAT I WOULD LIKE TO LIVE AND NOT KILL ANYONE ELSE IN THE PROCESS OF THIS SO CALLED SAFETY PRECAUTION THE VEHICLE TAKES ON.
THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO NUMEROUS MECHANICS WHO HAVE REPLACED THINGS AND IT STILL COMES ON. THE HEATING AND COOLING HAND WILL GO HAYWIRE BUT IT'S NOT RUNNING HOT AND ALL THE OTHER LIGHTS ON THE DASH WILL BLINK ON AND OFF. I THINK THE COMPUTER IS BAD.
THE OIL COOLER SEAL LEAKS, AND DROPS OIL ON THE EXHAUST. THIS GIVES OFF SMOKE, AND IS A FIRE HAZARD. ALSO THE FUMES FROM THE DRIPPING OIL IS SUCKED INTO THE CABIN AIR INTAKE, AND CONTAMINATES THE AIR IN THE CABIN.
I WAS DRIVING IN SUBDIVISION AT 20MPH AND VEHICLE WENT INTO LIMP MODE. IT HAD A MESSAGE SAYING ENGINE POWER REDUCED, SERVICE STABILITY TRACK AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. IT WOULD NOT ACCELERATE MORE THAN 5MPH. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS! LUCKILY I WAS NOT GOING 70 ON THE FREEWAY. I'VE BEEN READING ON CHEVY FORUMS AND GM FORUMS OF THIS HAPPENING TO THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE. MANY GOT IN ACCIDENTS BECAUSE OF REDUCED ACCELERATION TO 3 OR 5 MPH. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER IT HAS A P2135 CODE AND IS DIE TO A BAD THROTTLE BODY AND THROTTLE POSITIONING SENSOR. THE CHEVY MANUFACTURER IS NOT WILLING TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT ALTHOUGH IT'S A KNOWN ISSUE TO CHEVY AND GMC CARS FROM MANY YEARS OF VEHICLES, FROM WHAT I'VE READ 2009 TO CURRENT YEAR. MINE IS A 2012 CHEVY CRUZE LT. THERE IS A SPECIAL COVERAGE OF PEDAL ACCELERATOR FRACTURE BUT THE DEALER SAID IT'S NOT RELATED TO MY ISSUE, I HAVE A HARD TIME BELIEVING THIS. HERE IS A NOTE OF WHAT THE DEALER LOOKED AT AND DIAGNOSED.
I WAS DRIVING AND THE REDUCED ENGINE POWER, SERVICE STABILI TRACK, CHECK ENGINE WARNINGS CAME ON. MY CAR WOULD ONLY ACCELERATE TO 5MPH. LUCKILY I WASN'T ON THE FREEWAY, WAS ONLY GOING 20 MPH AND ALMOST HOME. VERY DANGEROUS. I PUT AN END CODE READER ON IT AND IT'S A P2135 CODE, THROTTLE POSITIONING SENSOR. I HAVE BEEN READING CHEVY CRUZE FORUMS AS WELL AS IN CHEVY FORUMS IN THE PAST WEEK, A MINIMUM OF 1000 PEOPLE THAT I CAN SEE HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE. MANY HAVE BEEN IN ACCIDENTS BECAUSE OF THIS. ITS OCCURED IN MAINLY CHEVY CRUZE BUT ALSO IMPALAS, GMC VEHICLES. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND I NEED A NEW THROTTLE BODY, THERE IS NO SPECIAL COVERAGE ALTHOUGH ITS OCCURED IN THOUSANDS OF VEHICLES IF NOT 10S OF THOUSANDS! IT'S DANGEROUS! THERE IS A SPECIAL COVERAGE FOR PEDAL ACCELERATOR FRACTURE BUT THEY SAY MINE IS FINE AND NOT RELATED TO THROTTLE BODY. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED WITH CHEVY AND IT SHOULD BE RECALLED OR HAVE SPECIAL COVERAGE. HERE IS A READOUT FROM THE MECHANIC.
VEHICLE HAS SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL/SERVICE STABILITRAK LIGHT THAT POPS UP EVERY TIME THE CAR IS STARTED. THERE IS ALSO A MISFIRE CODE IN CYLINDER NUMBER 1 WHICH CAUSES THE ENGINE TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY WHEN PARKED IN IDLE OR SOMETIMES WHEN STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT. THERE HAS BEEN A HANDFUL OF TIMES WHEN I HAVE MADE A TURN INTO AN INTERSECTION WHICH IS USUALLY ROUTINE, BUT WHEN I STEP ON THE GAS THERE IS NO RESPONSE FROM THE ENGINE AT ALL AND IT LEADS ME TO COAST FOR A FEW SECONDS AT SPEEDS USUALLY FROM 2-5 MPH. THE GAS PEDAL CAN ALSO BE PUSHED IN TO THE FLOOR AND THE CAR WILL NOT INCREASE IN SPEED FOR AT LEAST 5 SECONDS. IT IS VERY SCARY WHEN ENTERING INTERSECTIONS AFTER BEING STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT OR WHEN TRYING TO LEAVE A PARKING LOT. I BROUGHT MY CAR TO A CHEVY DEALER AND THEY SAID THEY HAD NO IDEA WHAT WAS WRONG WITH IT. FROM THERE I BROUGHT IT TO A MECHANIC WHO RAN TESTS, CHANGED PARTS, AND CLEANED CARBON FROM THE ENGINE FOR 2 WEEKS. AFTER THE 2 WEEKS THERE WAS STILL NO CLEAR EXPLANATION TO WHY THIS IS HAPPENING OR HOW TO FIX IT. THIS PROBLEM IS DEFINITELY A BIG CONCERN FOR SAFETY THAT SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING.
The contact owns a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze. The contact stated while driving 40-45 MPH, the check engine warning light illuminated and the vehicle stalled. The contact veered to the side of the road. The contact was able to restart the vehicle; however, the vehicle started overheating while driving. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the knock control system, the knock sensor, the camshaft, the positive crankcase ventilation system, and the engine intake manifold gasket had failed. The contact received an unknown recall notification from the manufacturer associated with the failure at the beginning of the pandemic. The contact contacted several unknown dealers to schedule an appointment however, the dealers informed the contact that there was no availability to complete the recall repair on the vehicle. The manufacturer was later notified of the failure and assisted the contact in scheduling an appointment with the dealer for repair. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer who informed the contact that the vehicle could not be repaired under the unknown recall as the recall had expired. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was towed back to the contact's residence. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
I PURCHASED A CAR ON DECEMBER 19TH 2019 I PUT $4,000 DOWN ON A 2012 CHEVY CRUZE FROM A FROM A USED CAR LOT HERE IN DAYTONA BEACH FLORIDA I CANNOT GET MY OIL CHANGE THE SCREW THAT LETS THE OIL OUT OF THE OIL PAN HAS BEEN STRIPPED AND I WAS UNABLE TO GET THE OIL CHANGED BECAUSE IN ORDER TO DO THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO BREAK IT AND SPOT WELDING WOULD NEED TO BE DONE ALSO EVERY TIME I SHUT MY CAR OFF AND GO TO TURN IT BACK ON I HAVE TO GET A JUMP MY CAR BATTERY LOSES ITS ENERGY OR WHATEVER YOU WANT TO CALL IT SO IT LOSES POWER MY BATTERY THE BATTERY IS 5 YEARS OLD ALSO MY ROTORS ARE BRAND-NEW BUT MY BRAKE PADS ARE BAD AND THEY WOULD NOT WHEN I SAY THEY I MEAN AUTOVENTURE IN HOLLY HILL FLORIDA WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR WILL NOT GIVE ME A CARFAX INSTEAD THEY GAVE ME ANOTHER THING THAT'S LIKE CARFAX AND IT SAYS THAT MY CAR IS FULL IS AND THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH IT WHEN INDEED THE MOTOR ITSELF IS FROM A JUNKYARD AND THEY DID NOT DENY THAT SO THIS IS WITHIN THE FIRST THREE WEEKS OF ME HAVING THE CAR AND I'M ALREADY SEEING THIS MANY PROBLEMS. ALSO I HAVE AN OIL LEAK I WAS TOLD TO PURCHASE A A COVER TO WHERE YOU PUT THE OIL IN THE CAR CUZ THE COVER MIGHT BE OLD AND IT STILL MIGHT NOT BE AS GOOD SO I WENT TO CHEVY DEALERSHIP AND PURCHASE IT FOR $28 ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT VALVE COVER GASKET ALSO NEEDS TO BE REPLACED SO MY CAR IS LEAKING OIL THE OIL CHANGE PLACE WHERE I'VE BEEN TAKING MY CAR'S THE LAST 6 YEARS WOULD NOT TOUCH MY CAR AND GIVE ME AN OIL CHANGE DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE BOLT AT THE BOTTOM OF THE OIL PAN HAS BEEN STRIPPED SO NOT ONLY IS MY OIL AT 6% BUT NOW I CAN'T GET MY OIL CHANGED BECAUSE OF IT
RIGHT FRONT AXLE MAKING NOISE FOR A WHILE NOW IT IS LEAKING. IS THIS RELATED TO THE OTHE CHEVY AXLE RECALL? CAN'T GET PARTS AS THEY ARE NO LONGER MANUFACTURED
ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS WHILE CAR IS DRIVING, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TURNED ON AND CAR WAS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE. (ALSO HAPPENED ONCE AFTER CAR HAD BEEN PARKED) IT ONLY LASTS ABOUT AN HOUR BEFORE CAR CAN ACCELERATE AGAIN AND THEN CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL EVENTUALLY TURN OFF. ALSO, CAR FEELS ROUGH SHIFTING BETWEEN GEARS AND HAS TROUBLE ACCELERATING OFTEN.
FUEL DAMPER IS LITERALLY SPRAYING A STEADY STREAM OF GASOLINE INSIDE ENGINE BAY. APPARENTLY A VERY COMMON PROBLEM BECAUSE PARTS ARE ON BACK ORDER EVERYWHERE I CALL. MY DAUGHTER DRIVES THIS CAR, AND TO HAVE HER SAFETY IN JEOPARDY IS UNACCEPTABLE. THIS VEHICLE WAS RECALLED BECAUSE OF OIL PLATE UNDER ENGINE WHICH WOULD POOL OIL AND RISK A FIRE, BUT GASOLINE SPRAYING IN ENGINE BAY HAS NO ATTENTION TO A RECALL
I HAVE A 2012 CHEVY CRUZE 1.4 TURBO ENGINE THE ISSUE IS OVER HEATING .. THIS ISSUE IS REOCCURRING.. I WAS DRIVING FOR APPROXIMATELY 10 TO 20 MINUTES WHEN THE INDICATOR ON THE DASH READS THAT THE CAR IS TO HOT YO DRIVE AND WILL SHUT DOWN LEFT ME STRANDED ON THE ROAD SIDE. I TAKE IT TO CHEVY DEALER TO LEARN THERE HAS BEEN A THERMOSTAT PROBLEM I GET THE ISSUE REPAIRD IT RUNS OK FOR A WHILE THEN AGAIN SAME PROBLEM (OVER HEATED) ONE AGAIN. TAKE AGAIN TO CHEVY DEALER THEY TELL ME IT'S THE WATER PUMP. I HAVE THE WATER PUMP REPAIRED. ALL IS OK FOR A SHORT WHILE. AGAIN THE SAME ISSUE I CALL CHEVY DEALER AGAIN TO BRING MY CAR BACK FOR THE 4TH TIME. THEY SCHEDULE MY APPT. TO LOOK AT MY CAR ONE AGAIN AND ON MY WAY TO THE DEALER CAR OVER HEATS TURNS ITS SELF OFF AND WILL NOT START BACK AFTER COOLING DOWN. FINALLY I GET THE CAR TO THE DEAL TO LEARN THAT IT BLEW THE HEAD GASKET AND NOW BECAUSE IT' OVER HEADED SO MANY TIMES I NOW NEED AN ENGINE!!! THERE HAS BEEN EXTEND WARRANTY ON ALL OF THE COOLING PARTS OF THE ENGINE AND THIS ISSUE SHOULD ALSO BE COVERED HOWEVER THE DEALER WILL NOT FIX THE CAUSED PROBLEM FROM THE FAULTY PARTS !!!!!!
DAUGHTER HAS COMPLAINED ABOUT LOSS OF POWER WHILE ON THE INTERSTATE IN KANSAS CITY. ON THIS PARTICULAR MORNING, MY HUSBAND PULLED OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY AND THE CAR WOULD NOT GO OUT OF FIRST GEAR. HE WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT DOWN THE STREET TO THE CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP. IT WAS INITIALLY JUST DIAGNOSED WITH A CRACKED TURBO. WE TOLD THEM TO REPLACE IT. THEY REPLACED IT AND THEN DETERMINED THE TRANSMISSION WAS BURNED UP. THE MECHANIC SAID HE THOUGHT THE FACT THAT THE TURBO DIDN'T WORK PROPERLY CAUSED THE TRANSMISSION TO BURN OUT AT 85,000 MILES. HAVE HAD PROBLEMS ON AND OFF FOR A YEAR WITH THE TURBO AND HAVE ALWAYS TAKEN IT IN AND HAD THOSE ISSUES FIXED AS SOON AS THE LIGHT COMES ON THE DASH. FINALLY THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE TURBO AND WE HAD THE ACTUATOR REPLACED IN NOV. 2019 AND LESS THAN A MONTH LATER, THE TURBO CRACKED AND THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND NO LIGHT EVER CAME ON, ON THE DASH. HAD TO SPEND $5400 TO FIX THESE ISSUES. I'M CONCERNED AND DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THERE ISN'T A COMPLETE RECALL ON THE TURBOS AS WE'VE READ IN MANY PLACES THAT PEOPLE HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THESE TURBOS, LEAVING HUGE COSTS TO CONSUMERS. CONTACTED CHEVROLET AND OF COURSE, THEY REFUSE TO HELP WITH ANY OF THESE COSTS.
MY SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT HAS COME ON AND NOT IT WILL NOT SHIFT GEARS ALL THE TIME. SOMETIMES IT DRIVES FORWARD. SOMETIMES IT DOESN'T. I NEED THIS ISSUE TO BE ADDRESSED. WHEN YOU HAVE OVER 100 COMPLAINTS FOR THE SAME THING CORPORATE NEEDS TO LISTEN. IF SOMEONE DIES BECAUSE OF THIS NO AMOUNT OF COMPENSATION WILL BE ENOUGH

2012 CHEVROLET CRUZ. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO DEFECTIVE COOLANT SYSTEM. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED AFTER HAVING BOTH THE HOSES AND CLIPS REPLACED, THE MECHANIC STATED ENGINE SEAL MUST HAVE BEEN LEAKING. THE CONSUMER REQUESTED TO BE REIMBURSED FOR THE REPAIRS. *JS
ENGINE HAS LOUD INJECTOR AND PURGE VALVES BOTH PRODUCING A CLICKING NOISE. THE NOISE CAN CLEARLY BE HEARD FROM INSIDE/OUTSIDE CAR WITH HOOD CLOSED. THIS ISSUE IS TRIGGERING A KNOCK SENSOR CODE. THE CAR HAS ALWAYS HAD BURNING OIL SMELL AS WELL WHICH WHILE UNDER WARRANTY THE DEALERSHIP MAGICALLY COULD NOT PRODUCE. I BELIEVE THEY DID NOT WANT TO PRODUCE IT AS IT HAS ALWAYS CLEARLY BEEN THERE FROM DAY ONE OFF DEALER'S LOT. I KNOW FOR FACT I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE TO EXPERIENCE THESE ISSUES. THE DEALERSHIP I TOOK IT TO FOR DIAGNOSIS SAID HIS DAUGHTER'S CRUZE HAD THE SAME IDENTICAL ISSUE AND WAS COVERED UNDER POWERTRAIN WARRANTY. UNFORTUNATELY, AS I STATED, THE DEALER COULD NEVER FIND ANY ISSUES WHILE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. I AM CONCERNED I WILL BE LEFT STRANDED SOMEWHERE WITH THIS VEHICLE AND/OR IT CATCHES ON FIRE DUE TO SOME SORT OF OIL/ENGINE ISSUE.
WHEN DRIVING MY VEHICLE (2012 CHEVY CRUZE) ON THE HIGHWAY (I-75 NORTH BETWEEN AUBURN HILLS AND CLARKSTON), THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT APPEARS, RPM'S FLUCTUATE AND THE AUTOMOBILE LOSES ACCELERATION EVEN THOUGH THE ACCELERATOR IS DEPRESSED. THE DASHBOARD CLUSTER LIGHT (P, R, D) BLINKS RAPIDLY. THE VEHICLE COULD NOT ACCELERATE AND THE ENGINE SEEMS TO LOSE POWER. THE VEHICLE DID THIS MULTIPLE TIMES AS POWER AND ACCELERATION WAS LOST. UPON RECEIVING A DIAGNOSTIC READING, THE CODE INDICATED A TRANSMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM OR OUTPUT SHAFT SPEED SENSOR. I AM SUBMITTING THIS COMPLAINT DUE TO THE UNSAFE DECELERATION OF SPEED ON THE HIGHWAY DURING RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC. THE POTENTIAL FOR A FATAL ACCIDENT IS GREAT. ADDITIONALLY, THIS MODEL SEEMS TO HAVE AN ISSUE DUE TO SEVERAL ON-LINE INQUIRIES AND COMPLAINTS.
CAR OVERHEATED. MESSSAGE THAT A.C. SHUTTING DOWN BECAUSE OF HIGH TEMP. HOSE IN ENGINE BLEW. MECHANIC COULD FIND NOTHING. TOOK IT BACK ON ROAD DIDN'T GET A MILE AWAY TEMP IS BACK UP TO 235/240. BACK TO MECHANIC NOTHING. SAFE TO DRIVE. I RESEARCH SEE THE PROBLEMS WITH MY YEAR MODEL ETC. DRIVE ROUND TRIP OF 20 MILES ( NOT OVER 40 MPH BECAUSE OF TEMP). ANTI FREEZE LEAKS FROM BOTTOM. MECHANIC SAYS IT'S A FAULTY SENSOR. WHILE THERE MAY BE A FAULTY SENSOR. . STILL LEAKING ANTI FREEZE. C ANT GET SENSOR DUE TO STRIKE ISSUE. 48000 MILES ON THIS 2012 CRUZE. TEMP JUMPS FROM 180-235 FOR NO REASON. I WON'T TAKE IT ON A HIGHWAY ANYMORE. I DON'T KNOW WHAT IT WILL DO.MOON ROOF JUST STOPPED WORKING FOR NO REASON. FUSES FINE.
ON MY WAY HOME, MY VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON THE HIGHWAY DURING HEAVY RAIN. I WAS SO TERRIFIED DIDNT NOTICE THAT SOMETHING WAS WRONG TILL I PULLED OVER. THE LEFT WINDSHIELD WIPER HAD STOPPED WORKING. I HAD TO WAIT TILL THE RAIN HAD STOPPED TO GO HOME.
THE VEHICLE HAS ONLY 80,000 MILES ON IT AND IT JUST QUIT RUNNING.I WAS ABLE TO HAVE SOMEONE HELP TO PUSH IT OUT OF THE ROAD. I WAS TOLD BY A REPAIR SHOP THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS BAD. I UNDERSTAND THAT GM IS AWARE OF THE BAD TRANSMISSION BUT HAVE NOT RECALLED THE VEHICLE TO FIX IT.
TRANSMISSION WENT OUT AT 46,942 MILES IN 2012 CHEVROLET CRUZE ON 10/14/19. I WAS ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK AT NIGHT. LUCKILY I WAS ON A SMALL, EMPTY ROAD IN TOWN CLOSE TO HOME. THE ENGINE REVVED BUT WOULD NOT UP SHIFT. I PULLED OVER AND SHUT THE CAR OFF HOPING IT MIGHT BE A COMPUTER ISSUE. WHEN I TURNED IT BACK ON, THE SHIFTER MOVED BUT THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK. TOWED IT TO MY DEALER, WERE IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN SERVICED. THE CAUSE WAS A WAVE PLATE FAILURE; GEARS 3-5-R WERE LOST. DECIDED TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION WITH A NEW ONE TO THE TUNE OF $4,500. CONTACTED GM/CHEVROLET. WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THAT COULD BE DONE AS FAR AS FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE GOES. THE CAR WAS OUT OF THE 5-YEAR/100,000 WARRANTY PERIOD. I HAD JUST FINISHED PAYING IT OFF. THIS CAR HAS LESS THAN 50,000 MILES, AND IS CONSERVATIVELY DRIVEN. THE ORIGINAL BRAKE PADS STILL HAVE HALF THEIR LIFE LEFT. IT IS A PROBLEM WHEN A MODERN CAR CAN NOT GET TO 50,000 BEFORE A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE LIKE THIS HAPPENS. I SENT GM CORPORATE A LETTER OF COMPLAINT ASKING THEM TO INVESTIGATE THE OLD TRANSMISSION. CONSUMERS SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY THE PRICE OF A SHODDY PRODUCT. WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THIS CAUSES SERIOUS ISSUES? I WAS GIVEN A $100 VOUCHER FOR FUTURE REPAIRS OR SERVICES FOR MY TROUBLE. THAT WAS A KINDNESS FROM A CUSTOMER SERVICE STANDPOINT, BUT NOT ON A CORPORATE LEVEL. I WANTED MY ISSUE TO BE HEARD BY THE BOSSES, BUT LIKE ANY BIG COMPANY IT GOES UNHEARD AND DISREGARDED. PEOPLE NEED TO SPEAK OUT AGAINST BIG COMPANIES. I UNDERSTAND SOMETIMES THINGS BREAK, BUT NOT WHEN THE MACHINE IS TAKEN CARE OF. FLUKES DON'T HAPPEN CONSISTENTLY, AND THIS IS A CONSISTENT PROBLEM WITH THESE DRIVE TRAINS. I WAS GOING TO KEEP THE CAR ANYWAY AND GET A NEWER ONE IN THE SPRING. NOT NOW. NOW I HAVE TO PAY ON IT FOR ANOTHER YEAR. I HOPE THIS DOES SOME GOOD IF JUST TO GIVE PEOPLE A WARNING.

THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO AUTONATION CHEVROLET OF NORTH RICHLAND HILLS (7769 BLVD 26, NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX 76180), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 123,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHEVROLET CRUZE. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AXLE FRACTURED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE AND DETERMINED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AXLE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 62,654.
SOMETIMES WHEN I SLOW TO A STOP OR JUST DRIVING CAR SHUTS OFF WITHOUT WARNING. NO LIGHTS OR ANYTHING COME ON IN THE DASH SHOWING IT'S OFF. STARTS RIGHT BACK UP BUT VERY DANGEROUS COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT.
THE CAR DOES A LOT OF STALLING WHEN YOU'RE DRIVING IT. ALSO THE ENGIN LIGHT WILL COME ON AND STAY ON MAYBE A DAY, THEN GO OFF. JUST ON AND OFF ANYTIME. AUTOMOBILE LOSSES POWER WHEN THIS HAPPENS..
OUR CHEVY CRUZE HAD STARTED SHIFTING STRANGE WHILE DRIVING, LOSING POWER AND IT WOULD START TO IDLE ROUGH, AND JUST SHUT OFF, A DAY LATER THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND WE RAN A CODE SCANNER ON IT TO FIND OUT WHAT WAS WRONG. 7 ERROR CODES CAME UP AND IT ALL LED TO A FAILED PCV VALVE. TWO DAYS LATER IT WAS IN THE SHOP AND WE ARE NOW FACED WITH A MAJOR REPAIR COST.
I NOTICED THAT MY VEHICLE SEEMED TO BE HAVING ISSUES WHEN I PRESSED ON THE BRAKE, SO I TOOK IT IN. I FOUND OUT THAT IT WAS A COMPLETELY UNRELATED ISSUE, AND HAD TO DO WITH A CRACK RUNNING THROUGH THE MANIFOLD. THIS WAS CAUSING OIL AND COOLANT TO LEAK ONTO THE ALTERNATOR. IF I HAD NOT CAUGHT THIS EARLY ENOUGH, THEY SAID I WOULD HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET IT FIXED. THEY REPAIRED THE LEAK, BUT A COUPLE WEEKS LATER I NOTICED MY CAR LOSING SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF COOLANT/OIL. THIS IS CAUSING OIL AND COOLANT TO AFFECT THE TURBO SETTING OF MY MANUAL CAR, AND HAS COST ME UP TO $2,000 IN REPAIRS. THIS HAS BEEN THE UNDERLYING PROBLEM AS TO WHY I HAD TO GET MY FLYWHEEL REPLACED 2 YEARS AGO, WHICH WAS ANOTHER $1,500. THIS IS ALSO WHAT CAUSED THE TRANSMISSION FAILURE 3 YEARS AGO, ANOTHER THOUSAND DOLLARS. I NOTED THAT THE VEHICLE BEGAN LEAKING FLUID AFTER BEING STATIONARY OR MOVING WHILE/AFTER RUNNING FOR 10 MINUTES OR LONGER.

COOLANT SYSTEM HAS FAILED ON MY MULTIPLE TIMES WITHIN A 4 YEAR PERIOD
REPLACED PCV VALVE ASSEMBLY TWICE AND STILL LEAKS OIL FROM COVER AND CAP. RUNS ROUGH ESPECIALLY WHEN IDLING, BAD GAS MILEAGE.
LOW PREASSURE ON TURBO, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TURNS ON, AND LOW ENGINE PERFORMANCE
WHEN BACKING MY DAUGHTERS CAR OUT OF OUR DRIVEWAY, THE BRAKE PEDAL BECAME HARD AND THE CAR WOULD NOT STOP. THERE WAS A RECALL FOR HER CAR FOR THIS EXACT SAME ISSUE, BUT WHEN I PUT THE VIN NUMBER IN FOR HER CAR, IT WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. I AM AFRAID TO LET HER DRIVE THE CAR DUE TO THIS ISSUE.
CAR WILL NOT START. PUT KEY IN THE IGNITION AND IT WILL NOT TURN OVER. HAD MECHANIC COME AND CHECK OUT AND HE SAID THE IGNITION SWITCH IS NOT GETTING THE POWER IT SUPPOSED TO ONE CORE READS 12 VOLTS THE OTHER 6 AND THEY BOTH SUPPOSE TO READ 12 VOLTS TO TURN IT OVER.
BRAKES WILL OCCASIONALLY NOT RESPOND TO NORMAL PRESSURE WHEN STEPPING ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. I NOTICE THAT THE ISSUE HAPPENS SPORADICALLY, WHETHER I AM ON THE FREEWAY OR SURFACE STREETS. THERE SEEMS TO BE PRESSURE BUILT UP AND I HAVE TO STEP A LOT HARDER ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. I KNOW FROM LOOKING UP FORUMS THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE 2012 AUTOMATIC CRUZE, BUT MINE IS A 6 SPEED MANUAL. I KNOW THE RECALL WAS FOR A MICROSWITCH ON THE BRAKE VACUUM BOOSTER. THE NHTSA RECALL NUMBER IS 13V360000. I AM WORRIED FOR MY FAMILIES SAFETY SEEING THAT I HAVE 2 TEENAGE SONS, MY WIFE AND I WHO ARE ABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR.
TIRE WENT FLAT SITTING OVER NIGHT. GOODYEAR ASSURANCE TIRE INNER BELT BROKE AND PROTRUDED THROUGH SIDEWALL OF TIRE WHILE PARKED IN DRIVE WAY. IF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED ON THE ROAD IT COULD OF CAUSED A BLOWOUT AND POSSIBLY INJURIES OR EVEN FATALITIES. GOODYEAR IS OFFERING TO PAY 50% OF NEW GOODYEAR TIRE.
COOLANT LEAKS AND DOES NOT REACH THE RADIATOR, HEATING SYSTEM IS NOT FUNCTIONAL.
