For the airbag the car was sold to me without a working airbag. It’s in the steering wheel (I have been told this by a Chevrolet dealership) and the part that is broken is the part that will make it inflate in case of crash. This is scary to me. I was just in my first (and hopefully only) accident a month before in a more steely car and while no airbags were deployed it still hurts. The second issue is with the fuel pump or sensor - the coding is very unsure but the dash (including the mechanical gauge) says the car will go from half tank to empty on an 8 mile drive. It has no leaks on the underside and I had it into the mechanic twice. The second time because it stumbled and stalled at a stop light. Before dying - half tank. August 6th they just scanned it with their computer I got no paperwork from them. On the 15th I didn’t get any paperwork either. I will include the shop’s number.

The contact was informed the air bags were Takata air bags and the injuries were caused by the air bags. The approximate failure mileage was unknown.
Air Bag passenger rear impact sensor failed. Discovered due to warning light. Component replaced at dealership. Vehicle has 25,360 miles on it.
THE CAR AT RANDOM WILL HAVE A MESSAGE COME UP THAT SAYS AIRBAG SENSOR. THE CAR SHUTS DOWN ON YOU AND WILL NOT START UNTIL CAR IS PUT IN PARK, RAISE HOOD, THEN ROLL DOWN DRIVER WINDOW IN TRAFFIC. THIS SOMETIMES WORK FIRST TRY BUT NOT ALWAYS. THIS CAUSE A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. IF THE AIRBAG DEPLOYS I COULD POTENTIALLY BE LEFT PARALYZED. SINCE I'VE HAD A CERVICAL FUSION
MY DRIVERS SIDE SEAT BELT LIGHT WOULD BLINK OCCASIONALLY AS I WAS DRIVING THINKING MY SEAT BELT WAS NOT LATCHING HOWEVER, IT WAS AND I CLEANED IT AS BEST AS I COULD. STILL WOULD COME ON, BLINKS, TURNS OFF, COMES ON AND THE SOUND WILL EVEN SOUND TO PUT MY SEAT BELT ON. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAGS ALSO FAILED TO DEPLOY IN THIS INCIDENT AS THE DAMAGE WAS A HUGE DENT IN THE HOOD AND FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND CONTACT WAS NOT INJURED. THE INSURANCE COMPANY WAS CONTACTED AS THE VEHICLE WAS AWAITING INSPECTION. THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED YET. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 165,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED BY EMAIL HOWEVER, NO ADDITIONAL ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
AIRBAG LIGHTS CAME ON, AIRBAG SENSOR HAS TO BE REPLACED. I PAID OVER $800 AND THE PART HAS BEEN ON ORDER FOR A MONTH!
MY SERVICE AIR BAGS SENSOR IS ON AND THE AIRBAGS HAVE TURNED OFF FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CAR.
DROVE TO WORK IN THE MORNING AS USUAL WITH NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS, CAR SAT IN THE PARKING DURING THE DAY WENT OUT TO DRIVE HOME AT THE END OF THE DAY AND THE AIR BAG TROUBLE LIGHT IN ON. TOOK CAR THE GM DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE CODE DIAGNOSED AND DEALERSHIP INFORMS ME THAT THE AIRBAG AND CONNECTING AIRBAG HARNESS WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO THE FACT THE AIRBAG WILL NOT RECALIBRATE AND IS NOT COMMUNICATING WITH THE COMPUTER.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED A TEN PERCENT DISCOUNT TOWARDS THE REPAIR COST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 47,000.

I HAVE CONTACT CHEVROLET AND GM MULTIPLE TIMES AND THEY WON'T DO ANYTHING THEY LITERALLY HAVE NOT CARED ONE BIT. I BELIEVE THEIR IS A PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKING SYSTEM OR THE VACUUM SYSTEM IN THE BRAKES AND I AM NOT THE FIRST PERSON THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED TO IN A CRUZE, I LOOKED IT UP AFTER IT HAPPENED AND I FOUND A FEW OTHER STORIES OF THE SAME THING HAPPENING.

I WAS STOPPED IN HIGHWAY TRAFFIC AND REAR-ENDED (I'VE ATTACHED THE CRASH REPORT FROM THE IN STATE POLICE). MY SEAT BELT DID NOT ENGAGE AND MY AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY CAUSING ME TO HIT MY HEAD ON THE STEERING WHEEL RESULTING IN ABRASIONS AND TWO BLACK EYES. THIS SEEMS TO BE EITHER A SERIOUS DESIGN PROBLEM OR A MANUFACTURER DEFECT. REGARDLESS, THE SENSORS THAT CAUSE THE SEAT BELT TO LOCK SHOULD NOT BE IN THE FRONT OF THE CAR AS THEY THEN PROVIDE NO PROTECTION FROM A REAR END COLLISION.

I WAS APPROACHING TO A CURVE WHEN I INTENDED TO BRAKE, THE CAR SLIPPED TO THE LEFT ALL THE WAY , IT DONT BRAKED, IT DONT TURN ON THE SENSOR TO STABILIZE THE CAR AND THE MOST IMPORTANT , ANY OF THE AIR BAGS IN THE LEFT SIDE , IT DONT CAME OUT .
