HAS AN INTERNAL ENGINE AND COOLING PROBLEMS EXHAUST GAS ENTERING THE COOLING SYSTEM I BELIEVE HE KNEW ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND STILL SOLD ME THE CAR ANYWAY. I TOLD HIM THAT THE WATER IN THE TANK WAS BUBBLING AND HE SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE CAR. AND NOW THE ENGINE GASKET IS BLOWN AND THE CAR IS OVERHEATING
CAR CONTINUALLY OVER HEATS AND NOW THE TURBO BAD
When in reverse on brakes do not engage properly-no braking action.. This same issue was addressed by a recall of 2012 models but GM has not issued a recall for 2013 models even though online research shows this is a common problem.
MY VEHICLE STARTED LOSING PRESSURE UPON HAVING IT CHECKED I WAS INFORMED THAT THE TURBINE IN THE ENGINE WAS DEFECTIVE AND BLOWING OUT THE OLD FROM MY INJUN MY CAR IS RENDERED USELESS DUE TO THE FACT THAT THIS TURBINE WAS PART OF CHEVY'S RECALL IN MY CAR HAVING BEEN AT CHEVY DEALERSHIPS IT WAS NEVER ADDRESSED. I NEED MY CAR FIXED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE IT IS MY ONLY MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION.
There is a consistent plastic burning smell, usually when the AC or heater is on. I have replaced the AC unit, and this still happens. Smoke sometimes appears on the driver's side through the vents. I have taken the vehicle in a few times for this, and they can never find anything. The last repairs I had done replaced wires, pipes, and connectors.
THE CAR AT RANDOM WILL HAVE A MESSAGE COME UP THAT SAYS AIRBAG SENSOR. THE CAR SHUTS DOWN ON YOU AND WILL NOT START UNTIL CAR IS PUT IN PARK, RAISE HOOD, THEN ROLL DOWN DRIVER WINDOW IN TRAFFIC. THIS SOMETIMES WORK FIRST TRY BUT NOT ALWAYS. THIS CAUSE A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. IF THE AIRBAG DEPLOYS I COULD POTENTIALLY BE LEFT PARALYZED. SINCE I'VE HAD A CERVICAL FUSION
THE PROBLEM I'M HAVING IS WHEN I HAVE MY HEAT TURNED ON I WILL GET A SMELL OF LIKE BURNT OIL COMING THROUGH MY AIR VENTS. I WAS TOLD IT WAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE CRANKSHAFT BUT THE LAST TIME I WAS TOLD IT WAS SOMETHING WITH THE VALVE COVER GASKET. I CAN SMELL IT MORE ONCE I HAVE COME TO A STOP AFTER DRIVING.
Countless oil leaks - replaced the valve cover /gasket and solenoids and countless other parts to stop the oil leak when it was coming from the intake manifold PVC system - I even replaced the turbocharger.
VEHICLE LEAKS COOLANT FROM WATER PUMP AND THERMOSTAT
[XXX]. I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS OVERHEATING. I CHANGED THE HOSES, THERMOSTAT, THERM. HOUSING, 3 SENSORS, WATER PUMP, SPARK PLUGS, COOLANT. NOW MY CAR WILL NOT EVEN START. IT CRANKS BUT WILL NOT FIRE. STARTING SMELLING A VERY STRONG SMELL EVERYTIME I WOULD TURN ON THE HEATER AND AIR. HAD THIS SMELL ONE TIME BEFORE AND COST ME RIGHT AT $700.00 DOLLARS TO FIX. NOW THIS IS GOING TO COST ME RIGHT AT $1500.00 DOLLARS TO FIX. THE SMELL IS MAKING ME SICK TO MY STOMACH. CAN'T BELEIVE THIS IS HAPPENING.
The contact owns a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze. The contact stated that while at a complete stop with her foot depressed on the brake pedal, the vehicle would intermittently lurch forward without warning. The contact stated that the parking brake was activated to stop the vehicle from inadvertently moving forward. The vehicle was not taken to be serviced or diagnosed. The manufacturer had been notified of the failure and informed her that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000.
WHILE DRIVING TODAY, IT BEGAN TO RAIN, MY DRIVER SIDE WIPER WAS WORKING, THEN 3 MINS INTO IT BEING ON, IT STOPPED. CAR HAS ~87500K MILES. I ACCESSED THE WIPER ARM LINKAGE, AND IT HAD THE DRIVER ARM BUSHING HAD WORN OUT.
WHILE DRIVING IN THE CITY STREET THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND STARTED FLASHING. THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON FOLLOWED BY A MESSAGE IN THE DASHBOARD STATING 'STABILITYTACK' WAS NOT WORKING. THE VEHICLE THEN BEGAN SHAKING AND WAS NOT ABLE TO SHIFT GEARS PROPERLY. THE RPM WAS HAVING TO REV HARDER THAN USUAL TO KEEP THE VEHICLE UP TO SPEED. I HAD TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE STREET AND TURN THE CAR OFF. NEITHER IDLING OR SHUTTING OF THE VEHICLE HELPED WITH THE PROBLEM.
THE COOLANT IS LEAKING, MY ENGINE LIGHT TURNED ON WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET AND IT SAID MY ENGINE WAS HIGH IN TEMPERATURE.
THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD COOKS THE CYLINDER HEAD GASKET CAUSING OIL LEAKS AND TURBO FAILURE BEFORE 75,000 MILES. OVERWHELMING SMELL OF BURNT ANTIFREEZE COMING FROM VENTS DUE TO COOLANT LEAK RIGHT OF THE SHOWROOM FLOOR. RANKED LOWEST POSSIBLE RELIABILITY RATING 40 OF 40
I HAVE AN 2013 CHEVY CRUZE 2LT 1.4L ENGINE. I DISCOVERED AN OIL LEAK UPON MY LAST OIL CHANGE AT 55,000 MILES. RECENTLY I DISCOVERED A SECOND OIL LEAK AT THE VALVE COVER AT 60,000 MILES. I TOOK IT TO THE CHEVY DEALERSHIP TO HAVE DIAGNOSED AND THEY CONFIRMED A MULTI LOCATION OIL LEAK, ONE AT THE CAM COVER AND THE SECOND AT THE VALVE COVER. SINCE THIS VEHICLE IS UNDER STANDARD MILEAGE FOR THE AGE, THIS SEEMS TO BE AN INDICATION OF DEFECT AND NOT UNDER NORMAL MAINTENANCE. I AM LOOKING TO HAVE THIS COVERED BY GM UNDER EXTENDED SPECIAL PARTS WARRANTY LIKE THE WATER PUMP IS COVERED. I ALSO HAD A OIL COOLER FAIL AND A WATER OUTLET ASSEMBLY FAIL AT 40,000 JUST OUTSIDE OF THE FACTORY WARRANTY, BUT THAT JUST HAPPENED TO BE COVERED UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY BUT DOES NOT CHANGE THE FACT THAT ANOTHER FAILURE HAPPENED IN TWO'S. I HAVE A CASE # WITH GM AND IT IS [XXX]CAM SHAFT COVER SEAL AND VALVE COVER GASKET FAILURE. TL* THE CONTACT CALLED ON BEHALF OF HER SON WHO OWNS A 2013 CHEVROLET CRUZE. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE HER GRANDDAUGHTER WAS PARKING THE VEHICLE, WHEN SHE SAW SMOKE COMING FROM THE HOOD. THE CONTACT STATED THE DRIVER WAS NOT AWARE IF ANY WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE DRIVER EXITED THE VEHICLE AND WHEN OPENED THE HOOD, SHE SAW FIRE AND SUSTAINED BURNS ON HER RIGHT HAND. THE CONTACT STATED THE DRIVERS STEPFATHER WAS ABLE TO EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE WITH WATER HOSE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CONTACTED BUT WAS NOT AWARE OF THEY FILED A FIRE REPORT. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE DRIVER DID NOT SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION FOR HER INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DRIVABLE. THE VEHICLE TOWED TO HER RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED AS OF YET. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 137,000. *BF*JB
WHENEVER I REFUEL MY CAR I HAVE TO REV THE ENGINE FOR A COUPLE MINUTES OTHERWISE THE CAR WILL DIE.
MY CAR KEPT SAYING "AC OFF DUE TO HIGH ENGINE HEAT" EVEN THOUGH MY CAR WAS NOT READING HOT WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. THEN THE CAR WOULD START SMOKING AND BLOW A HOSE AND LIQUID WOULD BE EVERYWHERE. I HAD A BRAND NEW THERMOSTATE PUT IN AND IT STILL DOES THE SAME THING. ALSO A PREVIOUS RECALL ABOUT HOW THE TIRE COULD SEPRATE "TIRE ROD" IS STILL DOING IT AGAIN. I HAD 3 TRANSAXLE SEALS AND A TRANSMISSION SEAL, A MOTOR BLOWER FOR THE A.C ALL REPLACED WITHIN THE FIRST YEAR (STILL UNDER WARRENTY) OF OWNING THIS CAR. THE STABILITY TRACK WILL SHOW UP ON THE SCREEN. BUT I'M TIRED OF WORRYING WHEN MY CAR WILL WANT TO JUST RANDOMLY BLOW HOSES AND START SMOKING AND LEAVE ME STRANDED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD! I BOUGHT A CHEAP CAR TO GET ME TO WORK AND MY CRUZE IS SITTING!!
STABILITRAK AND BRAKE MALFUNCTION
WHILE MY SON WAS DRIVING THE CAR ON THE HIGHWAY THE ENGINE STARTED TO SMOKE. HE PULLED OVER AND TURNED OFF THE CAR. HE WAITED 10 MINTUES AND STARTED THE CAR TO HEAD BACK HOME. WHEN HE ARRIVED HOME LIQUID WAS LEAKING OUT THE CAR AND THE CAR HAD SMOKE COMING FROM THE ENGINE. AT THIS TIME THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. GM HAD SENT A RECALL NOTICE IN THE MAIL (N202299080), A COUPLE OF DAYS PRIOR. I CALLED THEM ON MONDAY AND THEY TOLD ME TO TAKE IT TO A DEALER. I CALLED THE LOCAL CHEVY DEALER AND TOLD THEM ABOUT THE RECALL NOTICE. HE TOLD ME TO BRING IT IN. I CALLED A TOW TRUCK DRIVER AND LEFT THE CAR AT THE CHEVY DEALER. ATER THEY HAD THE CAR FOR TWO WEEKS, THEY EXPLAINED THAT IT WILL BE $2000 TO FIX THE VEHICLE, EVEN THOUGH THERE ARE CURRENTLY 4 RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. I CALLED GM SEVERAL TIMES TO ASK HOW ARE THEY GOING TO RECTIFY THIS, WITH NO CALL-BACK. THE VEHICLE IS STILL AT THE CHEVY DEALERSHIP.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHEVROLET CRUZE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STARTED TO VIBRATE AND SHAKE ABNORMALLY. DURING THE FAILURE, THE STABILI-TRAC AND CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURES WERE NOT DETERMINED. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
MESSAGE ON SCREEN COMES UP "A/C OFF DUE TO HIGH ENGINE TEMP" A FEW MINUTES AFTER DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. A/C SHUTS OFF TEMP GOES DOWN AND EVERYTHING IS FINE THEN YOU CAN TURN THE AIR BACK ON AND IT RUNS FINE. CAN NOT DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM WHEN THE PROBLEM DOESN'T LAST LONG ENOUGH FOR ANYONE TO SEE.
THE CAR WAS IN MOTION ON A HIGHWAY. WHEN ACCELERATING THE CAR SPUTTERED A BIT THEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STARTED TO BLINK AND TRACTION LIGHT CAME ON. ALSO MADE A CERTAIN WHINING NOISE. A MESSAGE POPPED UP STATING STABILITRAK SERVICE.
I WAS JUST DRIVING ALONG UNDER NORMAL DRIVING WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN MY RPMS WENT ALL THE WAY UP AND THE CAR WASN'T GOING ANYWHERE BUT COSTING TO A STOP ALONG WITH A LOUD BANGING SOUND. I WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 28MPH ON A STREET

IT'S BEEN SITTING FOR AWHILE NOW. I'VE REPLACED THE ENGINE, THE BATTERY, THE ALTERNATOR, THE STARTER, THE THERMOSTAT AND THE TENSIONER BELT. ALL BRAND NEW AND IT'S STILL NOT STARTING UP . IT ACTS LIKE IT WANTS TO START OVER BUT DOESN'T, EVEN WITHOUT THE KEYS IN IGNITION, IF I HOOK UP SPARK PLUGS IT ACTS LIKE IT WANTS TO START EVEN WITHOUT THE KEYS IN IGNITION
I HAVE BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH MY TURBO CHARGE SYSTEM(S) FOR A COUPLE YEARS. I HAVE BROUGHT MY VEHICLE TO BE SERVICED SEVERAL TIMES AND THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS LATER I'M STILL HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. MY ENGINE LIGHT COMES OFF AND ON SO I HAD TO WAIT UNTIL THE HE LIGHT WAS ON FOR A DIAGNOSIS. I WAS THEN TOLD I NEEDED TO REPLACE MY TURBO BOOST SYSTEM. I HEN ASKED ABOUT THE PREVIOUS REPAIR TO MY TURBO SYSTEM I WAS TOLD THERE WAS MORE THAN ONE. THEN A STABILITRAK/ TRACTION POPS UP PERIODICALLY. ON JUNE 22, MY CAR WOULD NOT START, I COULD NOT REMOVE THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION. THINKING IT WAS THE BATTERY, I GOT A JUMP AND PROCEEDED ON MY WAY. WHEN I WAS LEAVING MY DESTINATION, TO HAD TO JUMP START MY CAR AGAIN. THE ENGINE LIGHT ISN'T ON CURRENTLY , SO I AM UNABLE TO GET ANOTHER DIAGNOSIS. THIS HAS BEEN THE WORSE EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. I HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH CHEVROLET DIRECTLY OVER THE PAST COUPLE YEARS AND THEY PROVIDED ABSOLUTELY NO RESOLUTION. MY CAR ISN'T GAINING SPEED.. IT SEEMS TO HESITATE OFTEN AND RUNS EVEN WORSE WITH THE AC RUNNING. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER CHEVY PRODUCT NOR WILL I RECOMMEND THIS MAKE. CHEVY NEED TO MAKE THIS RIGHT. THESE CARS ARE PROVING TO BE DEFECTIVE AND THEY ARE PROVING THEY COULD CARELESS. CHEVY RECEIVED A SUBSTANTIAL STIMULUS PACKAGE, MAKE THINGS RIGHT WITH YOUR COMPANY. *TR
THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN ONGOING SINCE LAST YEAR. I HAVE BEEN GETTING MESSAGES ON MY DASH WITH ERRORS SUCH AS SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL/SERVICE STABILITRAK. THE CAR SLOWS DOWN TO 5 SPEED AND IT STALLS /JERK WHEN DRIVING. THIS IS NOT SAFE AND I ALMOST GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF IT. THIS VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE. TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR A DIAGNOSIS CHECK AND WAS TOLD NOTHING SHOWED UP BUT A LOW BATTERY. I GOT THAT FIXED AND THE CAR IS STILL HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY/STREETS/EXPRESSWAYS WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN MY CAR DECELERATED AND I GOT THE MESSAGE ENGINE POWER HAS BEEN REDUCED/SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL/SERVICE STABILITRAK AS WELL AS MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. BECAUSE OF THIS, I WAS FORCED TO PULLOVER WHILE ALMOST BEING HIT BY OTHER VEHICLES. THIS WAS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND SCARY FOR ME BECAUSE I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT HAPPENED AND IT COULD HAVE COST ME MY LIFE, AS WELL AS OTHERS. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO CHEVY AND FIRESTONE AUTO COMPLETE AND NO ONE KNOWS WHY THIS IS HAPPENING. *TR
I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT ISSUES WITH THE CAR SINCE I'VE HAD IT AND FIXED EVERYTHING THAT WAS WRONG WITH IT THE PALM CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP THAT SAID WAS WRONG WITH IT AND YET NOTHING HAS BEEN RESOLVED MY STABILITRAK CONTROL SERVICE SYSTEM LIGHT CAME ON ALONG WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AS THEY ARE FLASHING. I'M HAVING A VERY HARD TIME GETTING TRACTION I HAVE A 1 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER AND I DON'T FEEL THAT THIS CAR IS SAFE FOR HER. I WANT THIS ISSUE LOOKED INTO I HAVE SPENT MONEY THAT I DON'T HAVE TO JUST TRY TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM AND YET IT'S NOT FIXED. *TR
JUNE 2020 - CAR BEGAN POPPING UP WITH THE ALERT "A/C OFF DUE TO HIGH ENGINE TEMP" - UPON CHECKING THE CAR HAD COOLANT SO REPLACED THE THERMOSTAT. JULY 2020 THE ISSUE KEPT OCCURRING AND I BEGAN HAVING TO PUT COOLANT IN THE VEHICLE EVERY FEW DAYS. TOOK TO ANOTHER SHOP WHO SAID IT WAS LEAKING FROM A HOSE - REPLACED HOSES. AUG 2020 - ISSUE CONTINUED AND THEN STOPPED HOLDING WATER ALL TOGETHER - HAD TO REPLACE WATER PUMP, REZ, THERMOSTAT, AND VARIOUS BELTS/HOSES - DROVE THE CAR FOR THREE DAYS WHEN THE MESSAGE POPPED UP AGAIN. TOOK IT BACK TO THE SHOP AND WAS TOLD THAT (DESPITE IT BEING 1 OWNER CAR) "SOMEONE" HAD PUT STOP LEAK IN IT AND IT MADE THE THERMOSTAT STICK. THEY FLUSHED THE ENGINE AND REPLACED THE THERMOSTAT AGAIN AND THE CAR DROVE FOR 1 WEEK BEFORE THE ISSUE KEPT OCCURRING. THIS TIME IT STARTED HAVING TROUBLE CRANKING AND CAUSED A BLOWN HEAD GASKET. SO NOW AFTER 8 MONTHS AND $3,500 I HAVE REPLACED EVERYTHING THAT COULD POSSIBLY MAKE IT OVERHEAT/HAVE A COOLANT ISSUE AND HAD THE ENTIRE ENGINE REBUILT - HOPEFULLY THIS TIME IT FIXES THE ISSUE. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED.
MY 20 YR OLD DAUGHTER BOUGHT THIS CAR IN MAY 2020. SHE HAD IT 1 WEEK AND ENDED UP BROKEN DOWN ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD THE INTERSTATE, 3-1/2 HRS AWAY AT SCHOOL BECAUSE THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER WENT OUT. 2 WEEKS AND A NEW CATALYTIC CONVERTER, I AM ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD BECAUSE SHE COULDN'T STAY AND WAIT FOR IT, AND WE WOULDN'T LET HER TAKE IT UNTIL WE KNEW IT WAS RIGHT. ANOTHER 4 WEEKS LATER, REPLACED THE MOTOR AND CATALYTIC CONVERTER AGAIN, AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES BACK ON WITHIN 2 WEEKS AND LEAVES ME STRANDED ON THE HIGHWAY ONCE AGAIN! THIS TIME THE READING SHOWED ONLY AN O2 SENSOR SO MY HUSBAND CHANGED IT. THE CAR RAN FINE FOR A WHILE, THEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON. NOT LONG AFTER THIS, THE STABILITRAK WARNING LIGHT ALSO CAME ON AND SO THERE ARE 13 ERROR CODES COMING UP! WE HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A CHEVROLET FAMILY, BUT NOT ANYMORE! THIS HAS RUINED US! AND WHEN/IF WE CAN GET IT RUNNING WELL ENOUGH TO GET RID OF IT, IT IS GONE! THE ERROR CODES ATTACHED ARE FROM JULY & SEPTEMBER 2020. I DIDN'T GET A PICTURE THE LAST COUPLE OF TIMES THAT MY HUSBAND CHECKED IT. GENERAL MOTORS THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS. AND THAT'S JUST THE ONES WHO ACTUALLY TAKE THE TIME TO HUNT THE NHTSA DOWN AND FILE A COMPLAINT. NOT EVERYONE WILL DO SO! I PERSONALLY KNOW OF AT LEAST ONE OTHER PERSON IN MY HOMETOWN (OF LESS THAN 20,000) THAT OWNS A 2013 CRUZE THAT IS HAVING THE EXACT SAME PROBLEMS! I KNOW WE ARE JUST LITTLE PEOPLE TO YOU. BUT THESE ARE OUR LIVES! IF WE COULD AFFORD TO DRIVE A HIGH-PRICED, TOP-OF-THE-LINE VEHICLE, TRUST ME, WE WOULD!
MY 20 YR OLD DAUGHTER BOUGHT THIS CAR IN MAY 2020. SHE HAD IT 1 WEEK AND ENDED UP BROKEN DOWN ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD THE INTERSTATE, 3-1/2 HRS AWAY AT SCHOOL BECAUSE THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER WENT OUT. 2 WEEKS AND A NEW CATALYTIC CONVERTER, I AM ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD BECAUSE SHE COULDN'T STAY AND WAIT FOR IT, AND WE WOULDN'T LET HER TAKE IT UNTIL WE KNEW IT WAS RIGHT. ANOTHER 4 WEEKS LATER, REPLACED THE MOTOR AND CATALYTIC CONVERTER AGAIN, AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES BACK ON WITHIN 2 WEEKS AND LEAVES ME STRANDED ON THE HIGHWAY ONCE AGAIN! THIS TIME THE READING SHOWED ONLY AN O2 SENSOR SO MY HUSBAND CHANGED IT. THE CAR RAN FINE FOR A WHILE, THEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON. NOT LONG AFTER THIS, THE STABILITRAK WARNING LIGHT ALSO CAME ON AND SO THERE ARE 13 ERROR CODES COMING UP! WE HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A CHEVROLET FAMILY, BUT NOT ANYMORE! THIS HAS RUINED US! AND WHEN/IF WE CAN GET IT RUNNING WELL ENOUGH TO GET RID OF IT, IT IS GONE! THE ERROR CODES ATTACHED ARE FROM JULY & SEPTEMBER 2020. I DIDN'T GET A PICTURE THE LAST COUPLE OF TIMES THAT MY HUSBAND CHECKED IT. GENERAL MOTORS THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS. AND THAT'S JUST THE ONES WHO ACTUALLY TAKE THE TIME TO HUNT THE NHTSA DOWN AND FILE A COMPLAINT. NOT EVERYONE WILL DO SO! I PERSONALLY KNOW OF AT LEAST ONE OTHER PERSON IN MY HOMETOWN (OF LESS THAN 20,000) THAT OWNS A 2013 CRUZE THAT IS HAVING THE EXACT SAME PROBLEMS! I KNOW WE ARE JUST LITTLE PEOPLE TO YOU. BUT THESE ARE OUR LIVES! IF WE COULD AFFORD TO DRIVE A HIGH-PRICED, TOP-OF-THE-LINE VEHICLE, TRUST ME, WE WOULD!
SERVICE STABLI TRAC AND SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL COME ON. CAR IS 'CHUGGING' WHEN IN MOTION AND THEN DIES. IGNITION COIL GET BURNT OUT. THIS IS NOW THE 3RD TIME IN A MONTH.
MULTIPLE INCIDENTS OF OVERHEATING SPANNING OVER THE PERIOD OF A FEW YEARS NOW: WATER PUMP, COOLANT HOUSING, VALVE COVER GASKET, AND MOST RECENTLY TURBO CHARGER COOLANT LINES HAVE ALL BEEN REPLACED. HAVE NOT CONTACTED MANUFACTURER BECAUSE THE INFORMATION EVERYWHERE SAYS THERE ARE NO RECALLS FOR THIS OBVIOUSLY VERY COMMON PROBLEM! DOESN'T SEEM FAIR AT ALL. THIS ISSUE HAS LEFT ME STRANDED IN TRAFFIC, ON SIDE OF HIGHWAYS, HAVING TO CALL SOMEONE COUNTLESS TIMES, NOT TO MENTION THE REPAIR AND ALTERNATE TRANSPORTATION FEES. I MEAN, WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO MAKE SOMETHING IMPORTANT ENOUGH TO ISSUE A RECALL FOR?!?!!
I LEFT MY KEYS IN THE IGNITION ONE NIGHT, WENT TO BED, AND WOKE UP TO MY HEADLIGHTS TURNING ON AND OFF. I THOUGHT SOMEONE WAS TRYING TO STEAL MY CAR, BUT WHEN I RAN OUTSIDE, THE CAR WAS LITERALLY STARTING ITSELF, TURNING ITSELF OFF, TURNING BACK ON, AND BACK OFF. I'M NOT SURE HOW LONG IT HAD BEEN DOING THAT, BUT THEN I STARTED IT UP MYSELF, AND TURNED IT OFF, THEN REMOVED THE KEYS FROM THE IGNITION. IT WAS IN THE PARK POSITION.
FIRST THE WATER PUMP HAD TO BE REPLACED, THEN THE TURBO COILS HAD TO BE REPLACED $740, THEN THE SURGE TANK AND NOW THEY ARE SAYING MORE LEAKS AND WANTED TO DO SOME TEST THAT COST $65. SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT, AM I THE ONLY ONE THIS IS HAPPENING TO?
THE STABLIC TRACT, THE ENGINE, THE ENGINE SLOWS DOWN, THE POWER STEERING, THE ENGINE MODULE HAS BLOWED I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR DAY 1, I BOUGHT FROM JDA AUTOMOTIVE ON GARNERS FERRY ROAD. I HAVE BEEN TAKING CAR TO CHEVROLET IN COLUMBIA,SC HARBISON . THEY REPAIRED RECALLS BUT SOON AS REPAIR THEY SEND A SIGNAL TO CAR TO TEAR UP .THE CAR COME TO COMPLETE STOP CAUSING ME TO NEED NECK BRACE IT ALSO IS TEARING UP THE THREAD ON TIRES. AND PEOPLE ARE BLOWING HORN AND ALSO HITTING ME IN BACK EVERYWHERE I GO I HAVE TO USE EMERGENCY BLINKING LIGHTS.
MY DRIVERS SIDE SEAT BELT LIGHT WOULD BLINK OCCASIONALLY AS I WAS DRIVING THINKING MY SEAT BELT WAS NOT LATCHING HOWEVER, IT WAS AND I CLEANED IT AS BEST AS I COULD. STILL WOULD COME ON, BLINKS, TURNS OFF, COMES ON AND THE SOUND WILL EVEN SOUND TO PUT MY SEAT BELT ON. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHEVROLET CRUZE. THE CONTACT STATED AFTER SHIFTING TO PARK AND EXITED THE VEHICLE, IT BEGAN TO ROLL AWAY WHILE THE KEY WAS REMOVED FROM THE IGNITION WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT HAD TO QUICKLY RE-ENTER THE VEHICLE AND DEPRESS THE EMERGENCY BRAKE IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE FROM ROLLING AWAY. SHORTLY AFTER THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND THE FAILURE REOCCURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,000. THE CONTACT REFERENCED THE FAILURE TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V502000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, POWER TRAIN).
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHEVROLET CRUZE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE SHE WAS DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 40-45 MPH, SHE HIT A DEER AND THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THIS FAILURE OCCURRED IN 2018 HOWEVER RECENTLY HER HUSBAND WAS DRIVING AT 70 MPH, HIT A DEER IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HOOD WHICH THEN ROLLED OVER ONTO THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAGS ALSO FAILED TO DEPLOY IN THIS INCIDENT AS THE DAMAGE WAS A HUGE DENT IN THE HOOD AND FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND CONTACT WAS NOT INJURED. THE INSURANCE COMPANY WAS CONTACTED AS THE VEHICLE WAS AWAITING INSPECTION. THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED YET. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 165,000.
MY SCREEN FOR THE RADIO STARTS TO FLICKER, AND THE ENTIRE CAR SHUTS DOWN. AFTER WAITING FOR 5 OR 10 MINUTES THE CAR POWERS BACK UP AND STARTS. ANOTHER TIME, WHILE I WAS STILL PARKED THE RADIO STARTS TO FLICKER AGAIN. SO I TURN OFF THE CAR, BUT THE KEY IS STUCK IN THE IGNITION AND WHEN YOU TURN THE KEY YOU GET NOTHING. IT DOESN'T START AND YOU GET NO POWER. AFTER WAITING A FEW MINUTES AGAIN THE CAR POWERS UP ON ITS OWN WHILE KEY IS STILL IN THE IGNITION. THIS ALSO HAPPENED ONCE WHILE I WAS DRIVING. LUCKILY I WAS JUST TAKING OFF, SO I WASN'T GOING VERY FAST.
A/C OFF DUE TO HIGH ENGINE TEMP WARNING ON THE DASH. TRIED RESETTING ECU, DIDN'T WORK. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON. CHANGED BOTH COOLANT SENSORS AND STILL BROKEN. REPLACED OLD BROKEN THERMOSTAT WITH A NEW FACTORY SENSOR, AND 4 MONTHS LATER IT'S ALREADY BROKEN.

CAR LOSES ELECTRICAL . RADIO DISPLAY GOES BLANK. SIGNAL LIGHT USE BECOMES VERY QUIET. KEY BECOMES STUCK IN IGNITION CANNOT BE REMOVED. WITH KEY ON MODE HEAR CLICKING SOUND. NO ELECTRICAL ACTIVITY JUST SOUND. AFTER ABOUT 10 MINUTES CAR COMES BACK TO LIFE. ON OCCASION I GET DISPLAYS ON DASH TELLING ME TO OPEN AND CLOSE DRIVER WINDOW. CAR CAN DIE ANYWHERE. PULLED INTO GAS PUMPS SHUTOFF PULLED OUT KEY. AFTER GETTING GAS PUT KEY INTO IGNITION WENT TO TURN ON KEY BECAME STUCK AND THEIR WAS NO ELECTRICAL ACTIVITY. PUTTING KEY IN ON MODE I HEARD FAST CLICKING BUT NOTHING ELSE. AFTER TEN MINUTES IT'S LIKE THE CAR TURNED ON. I HAD TO TURN THE KEY A COUPLE TIMES BEFORE THE ENGINE CAME ON. I GET VARIOUS DISPLAY NOTICES LIKE THE ONE I ATTACHED. OR I GET STABIL TRAK DISPLAY. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. IT TAKES POWER STEERING AND I AM UNABLE TO DRIVE.

DEALER RETURNED CAR WITH BAD MOTOR AFTER TESTING FOR HIDROCARBONS. CHARGED ME $800 EVEN WITH RECALL PARTS PROVIDED. CAR IS STILL UNDRIVABLE DO TO WATERPUMP LEAK. WHERE DO I GO FROM HERE? LEMON LAW? DEALER WORK NOT PREFORMED? PLEASE ADVISE.
RECALL: N202299080 THE CRACKS IN THE FAULTY PCV VALVE PREVENTED PROPER AIR INTAKE AND PRESSURIZATION TO AND FROM THE INTAKE ENGINE. BECAUSE THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN OPERATING UNDER THESE STRENUOUS IMPROPER CONDITIONS, THE TURBO HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO SPOOL PROPERLY IN ACCORDANCE WITH ITS DESIGN AND HAS ALSO BECOME DEFECTIVE/IN NEED OF REPLACEMENT. FAULTY PRESSURIZATION DOES NOT ONLY AFFECT THE PCV VALVE, BUT THE COMPONENTS ON EITHER SIDE OF THE VALVE AND THEIR PROCESSES AS WELL. MY 2013 CHEVY CRUZE NOT ONLY STALLS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET, BUT DIES THERE AND IS A HUGE SAFETY HAZARD TO BOTH MY FAMILY AND THOSE WE SHARE THE ROAD WITH. THIS VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT OR HAD ANY OTHER COMPLICATIONS, EXCEPT FOR THIS FAULTY PCV VALVE. THE CONDITION HAS EXPOSED MY TURBO AND ENGINE TO IRREGULAR UNWARRANTED PROPULSION MECHANISMS. GM IS HOPING WE'RE IGNORANT ENOUGH TO COVER THOSE COSTS ON OUR OWN. THIS IS WRONG. THEIR FAULTY PART TRIGGERED A SERIES OF SAFETY HAZARDS AND COMPLICATIONS. THEY NEED TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE, WE CANNOT SIT BACK OR TURN A BLIND EYE IN THEIR DIRECTION.
