CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AFTER OVER HEATING OCCURRED. REPLACED THE THERMOSTAT, WATER PUMP AND THEN FOUND OUT THEIR WAS A BLOWN HEAD GASKET. NOW I NEED TO PLACE A NEW MOTOR IN A 2005 EQUINOX WITH ONLY 113000 MILES! *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC WHO FLUSHED THE HEATER CORE, PERFORMED A PRESSURE TEST, REPLACED THE CYLINDERS, INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKET SET, OIL FILTER, HEAD GASKET, EXHAUST MANIFOLD, DISTRIBUTOR O-RINGS, HEAD VOLT SET, AND THE ANTIFREEZE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FRONT IMPACT SENSOR WAS DEFECTIVE. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH GASOLINE FUMES WERE INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER REPLACED THE CRACKED EGR VALVE AND THE PCV VALVE SEVEN DAYS AGO FOR $600 AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND A CLAIM WAS FILED. HAD A LOUD NOISE COMING FROM EXHAUST AND HAVE EXHAUST FUMES COMING THRU THE VENTS, AND FOUND THAT IT WAS THE ERG VALVE (BROKE IN TWO). WENT TO DEALERSHIP TO GET REPLACEMENT PART AND WAS TOLD BY THE PARTS GUY THAT THIS IS A BIG PROBLEM WITH THE EQUINOX AND THAT THEY NOW HAVE CHANGED THE ENTIRE PART SO YOU CAN NO LONGER JUST REPLACE THE $20 TUBE, YOU HAVE TO GET THE $300 PART, PLUS LABOR AND THEN HAVE THE SHOP 'RESET' THE COMPUTER TO MATCH THE NEW PART..........ANOTHER $200 SERVICE. BLOWN HEAD GASKET ON A 2005 CHEVY EQUINOX WITH 60,000 MILES. INTERNET RESEARCH REVEALED THIS AS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH SEVERAL CHEVY VEHICLES WITH 3.4L ENGINES. SOME WITH MILEAGE BELOW 30,000 MILES. GM IS IGNORING ISSUE AND UP TO $3000 REPAIR BILLS. THIS IS A WIDESPREAD ISSUE. *TR
I HAVE A 2005 CHEVY EQUINOX THAT I PURCHASED USED IN MARCH 2009 FROM JOHNNY LONDOFF CHEVROLET. I HAVE BEEN TAKING IT TO THE DEALER FOR REGULAR MAINTENANCE AND THEY WOULD SAY EVERYTHING IS WORKING PROPERLY. I'VE BEEN EXPERIENCING ALOT OF PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR SINCE I'VE PURCHASED IT. THE AIR DIDN'T WORK & I PAID TO GET IT FIXED ONLY FOR IT TO GO OUT AGAIN. WHEN I START IT SOMETIMES IT DOESN'T WANT TO START, I HEAR NOISES LIKE IT'S MISFIRING WHEN IT DOES START. I COULD HAVE HAD AN ACCIDENT & MY CHILD WAS IN THE CAR AS WELL. I HAD IT TOWED BACK TO THEM TO FIND OUT WHAT CAUSED THIS & THEY SAID THE HUB BEARING NEEDS TO BE REPLACED & THE HARNESS NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. IT'S NOT GONNA BE CHEAP TO FIX AS I'M NOT UNDER WARRANTY. I WANT THIS TO BE INVESTIGATED AS TO WHY THIS HAPPENED WITHOUT ANY WARNING SINCE I'VE ONLY HAD THE CAR ABOUT 1 YEAR & 8 MOS. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AT 59,900 MILES. TOOK IT IN TO FIRESTONE THEY RAN A DIAGNOSTIC ON IT AND SAID THAT THE SPARK PLUGS / WITING WERE BAD. HAD THEM REPLACED FOR AT A COST OF $400. A WEEK LATER CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON AND CAR OVERHEATED. TOOK IT IN TO FIRESTONE AGAIN. THIS TIME THEY SAID THE HEAD GASKETS WERE BLOWN AND THE #1 CYLINDER WAS LEAKING. REPAIR ESTIMATE $1500 TO REPLACE THE GASKETS, PLUS AN ADDITIONAL $1000 IF THE HEAD IS CRACKED. HAVE DONE MUCH RESEARCH AND FOUND THIS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM AMONG GM VEHICLES THAT REQUIRE THE DEX-COOL COOLANT. FOUND A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT IN CA AND MO BUT THAT ONLY COVERED UP TO 2003 MODELS. OBVIOUSLY GM KNOWS THIS TO BE AN ISSUE, SO I HAVE TO WONDER WHY ARE THEY ALLOWED TO CONTINUE SELLING DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS? *TR
I TO OWN A 2005 CHEVROLET EQUINOX WHICH I PURCHASED BRAND NEW, WITH ONLY 34,400 MILES ON IT TO DATE. OUR CAR IS VERY WELL TAKEN CARE OF AND IT LOOKS AS GOOD AS THE DAY WE TOOK IT OFF THE CAR LOT. I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK SEPT 2010. ITS A USED CHEVY EQUINOX 2005 FROM A BIG "MAZDA" DEALERSHIP HERE IN EDINBURG,, TEXAS. I DIDN'T BUY IT WITH WARRANTY. AFTER A WEEK OF DRIVING IT, I HAD TO CHANGE THE BRAKE PADS ALREADY. THEY SENSORS STARTED MESSING UP WITHIN 3 DAYS. BUT THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT CUS I HAD NO WARRANTY. I CHANGED THE OIL WITH SYNTHETIC OIL AFTER A MONTH AFTER HOPING IT WOULD GET BETTER. BUT IT KEPT ON HAPPENING ALL THE TIME UNTIL NOW. ANTI-LOCK BRAKES AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT SENSORS. THEY TURN ON ALL THE TIME. AND THE BARRING VIBRATES AND YOU CAN FEEL IT WHEN GOING SLOW. I JUST GOT IT FIXED THE OTHER DAY AT A FAMOUS CAR REPAIR SHOP AND THEY TOLD ME THERE'S A 50/50 CHANCE THAT CHANGING THE BARRING WILL WORK. BUT IT HAS HAPPENED TO OTHER CHEVY EQUINOX 2005/2006 MODELS THAT THEY'VE FIXED BEFORE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. I TOOK MY CHANCES ANYWAY AND I BOUGHT A NEW BARRING AND CHANGED ALL MY 4 TIRES. AFTER A DAY THE LIGHT SENSORS TURNED ON AGAIN AND THE BARRING STARTED VIBRATING AGAIN. I CALLED THEM UP THEY SAID TO GO TO A DEALERSHIP. I DON'T WANT TO TAKE IT TO A DEALERSHIP CUS MY WARRANTY EXPIRED ALREADY AND I KNOW THEY'RE GOIN TO CHARGE MORE. I'M NOT SURE IF THERE IS A RECALL ON THE BRAKES AND SENSORS ON THIS MODEL THAT'S WHY IM FILING A COMPLAINT. *TR
WHEN I FIRST HIT THE BRAKES, THE CAR DID NOT BRAKE. THERE WAS A GRINDING SOUND FOR ABOUT 4 SECONDS AND THEN THE BRAKES GRABBED HARD AND THE VEHICLE STOPPED. THEN THE LIGHTS CAME ON STATING THE ANTI LOCK BRAKES AND TRACTION CONTROL DO NOT WORK. THE NEXT TIME I STARTED THE CAR, THE LIGHTS FOR THE ANTI LOCK BRAKES AND TRACTION CONTROL WERE NOT ON. SINCE 2008, I HAVE EXPERIENCED THE FOLLOWING PROBLEMS WITH BRAKES GRINDING & SQUEAKING EVEN AFTER GETTING THEM REPAIRED (FRONT AND REAR BRAKES / ROTORS REPLACED). A COUPLE OF DAYS AFTER REAR BRAKES REPLACED THE ABS & TC LIGHTS WERE ON. I HAD TO HAVE SENSORS REPLACED. I HAVE ALSO EXPERIENCED CAR NOT STARTING AND SOUNDING LIKE IT IS FLOODING, AFTER LETTING CAR SIT FOR A FEW MINUTES IT THEN STARTS. THERE IS ALSO A POPPING NOISE THAT COMES FROM THE BACK OF CAR AFTER STARTING THE ENGINE. WHEN CHANGING SHIFT FROM PARK TO DRIVE CAR OCCASIONALLY JERKS & SHOOTS FORWARD. WHEN PRESSING THE GAS, THE CAR TAKES A FEW MOMENTS THEN JERKS FORWARD. NOW I'M BEING TOLD THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS GOING BAD & I HAVE TO PAY $350 FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST TO DETERMINE IF THEY CAN REBUILD THE TRANSMISSION OR HAVE TO REPLACE IT, WHICH WILL COST BETWEEN $1800 TO $3000. THERE IS A 2005 CHEVY EQUINOX POWER TRAIN: AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE RECALL BUT MY CAR IS NOT COVERED. RECENTLY, THE DEALER REPLACED THE DRIVE SHAFT BEARING AND THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT UPPER STRUT MOUNT ALONG WITH THE LOWER STRUT INSULATOR, SWAY BAR LINK AND COIL SPRING WERE REPLACED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THERE WAS A MALFUNCTION WITHIN THE AIR BAG AND ENGINE WARNING LIGHT INDICATORS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE AS 44,635. THIS COMPLAINT IS IN REGARDS TO THE CAR ITSELF, AIR CONDITIONER COMPRESSOR AND WINDOW SWITCHES. I PURCHASED A 2005 CHEVY EQUINOX FROM CHRIS NICKEL DEALERSHIP (USED). FOR $10,000 ON JUNE 12, 2010 ;NOT EVEN 2 WEEKS AFTER PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE THE PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW WOULD NOT ROLL UP......IT HAD THE MOTOR IN THE WINDOW GO OUT......HAD TO HAVE IT REPLACED..... IN MY PURCHASE......THEY HAD A CERTIFIED MECHANIC INSPECTORS SIGNED AND DATED FORM SHOWING THAT ALL ITEMS HAD BEEN CHECKED AND THEY WERE IN TIP TOP SHAPE........NOW I AM WONDERING DO THEY JUST GO THROUGH AND PLACE A CHECK MARK IN ALL THE BOXES BECAUSE SOME OF THE BOXES WERE CHECKED AND THEY ARE NOT INCLUDED IN MY CAR.......... 2005 CHEVY EQUINOX 65000 MILES, STARTED ONE DAY AND AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON. TOOK TO DEALER AND WAS TOLD THE SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $600 OR AIRBAG WOULD NOT DEPLOY. *TR
MY CAR A/C BLOWS HOT AIR UNLESS I AM TRAVELLING LONG DISTANCES DOWN THE ROAD, HEAT SOMETIMES DOES NOT WORK IN THE WINTER AND I HAVE TO PULL OFF THE ROAD, TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND THEN BACK ON TO GET HEATER TO WORK. ALSO WHILE CRANKING THE CAR IT DOESN'T WANT TO TURN OVER AT TIMES UNLESS I STOMP ON THE GAS PEDAL. THIS HAPPENS AROUND TWICE A WEEK. FREON IS OK IN MY CAR AND NOBODY CAN FIND THE PROBLEM FOR A/C OR THE REASON IT SOMETIMES WON'T TURN OVER WITHOUT GIVING IT GAS FIRST. ITS HIGHLY UNSAFE TO HAVE AN AIR TEMP DOOR NOT WORK PROPERLY AS IT WON'T DEFROST DURING THE WINTER AND WON'T BLOW COLD DURING THE SUMMER. *TR
THE VEHICLE ABS SYSTEM START TO FAIL AT 50,000 MILES. WHEN YOU START DRIVING THE VEHICLE IT MAKES THE ABS DIAGNOSTIC AND FAIL THE DIAGNOSTIC. IT'S CONTINUE TO MAKE THE DIAG. WHILE YOUR ARE DRIVING UNTIL IT FAIL. THEN THE VEHICLE CONTINUE OPERATING NORMALLY BUT WITHOUT ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL. THE ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS IS ON. IF YOU BRAKE IN BAD WHETHER THE WHEELS LOCK AND ABS DON'T PROTECT. 3 DIFFERENT MECHANICS TRY TO FIND THE FAULT UNSUCCESSFUL. THEY REPLACED, ABS MODULES, SOME BRAKE PARTS AND OTHER PARTS BUT THE FAIL CONTINUE. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. *TR
The contact owns a 2005 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that upon inserting the key into the ignition switch, it failed to function properly. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 04V302000 (POWER TRAIN). However, the failure reoccurred and the vehicle was taken to a second dealer, Countryside Chevrolet (71 Cat Creek Rd, Franklin, NC 28734), where the ignition switch was replaced for a second time under the recall. However, the failure persisted. The contact's daughter was unable to start the vehicle after several attempts. The contact contacted AAA who assisted her daughter to start the vehicle. The contact's daughter was able to continue driving. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 115,000.
WHILE TRAVELING TO WORK ON HIGHWAY 100 EAST BOUND IN MD. MY 2005 CHEVY EQUINOX STARTED HAVING VIBRATIONS IN THE STEERING WHEEL. I WAS TRAVELING IN THE NUMBER 2 LANE ON A 3 LANE HIGHWAY WHEN THE VEHICLE THEN PULLED ME TO THE LEFT. I COUNTER STEERED TO THE RIGHT AND THE VEHICLE PULLED ME INTO A HARD LEFT STRAIGHT INTO A GUARD RAIL. I COULD NOT CONTROL THE VEHICLE AFTER IT PULLED ME TO THE LEFT WHICH RESULTED IN MY CRASH INTO THE GUARD RAIL AND ANOTHER CAR HITTING ME AFTERWARDS. AFTER THE ACCIDENT I EXITED THE VEHICLE AND LOOKED AT THE TIRES LOCATED ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE VEHICLE BECAUSE I THOUGHT THAT THIS WAS THE PROBLEM. BOTH TIRES ON THE DRIVER SIDE WERE FLAT AND OFF OF THE RIMS. I COULD UNDERSTAND THE FRONT TIRE BEING IN THIS CONDITION BUT THE REAR TIRE WAS NOT NEAR ANY IMPACT. THAT PORTION OF THE CAR DIDN'T RECEIVE ANY DAMAGE WHICH MAKES NO SENSE TO ME. A COUPLE OF MONTHS PRIOR TO THIS ACCIDENT I HAD SEARS INSTALL 4 BRAND NEW GOODYEAR WEATHERHANDLER FUELMAX TIRES. I FEEL AS IF THESE TIRES OR THE INSTALLATION ALMOST ENDED MY LIFE AND I WANTED TO REPORT IT SO THAT THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN TO SOMEONE ELSE. *TR

WITHIN APPROXIMATELY 2 WEEKS, FOUND NOTICEABLE GRINDING NOISES FROM BRAKES, LOW TO NULL BRAKING ABILITY. ABS AND TRACKING LIGHTS ARE ON. IN JUNE, DEALER FOUND ABS SENSOR AND STEERING COLUMN WERE BROKEN. DEALER SAID IT WAS A RESULT OF RECENT CAR ACCIDENT BUT SEVERAL INSURANCE ADJUSTERS HAVE SAID THE ACCIDENT WAS TOO MINOR TO CAUSE SUCH DAMAGE AND BELIEVE IT IS MANUFACTURER DEFECT. NO INSURANCE COMPANY WILL TOUCH THIS CLAIM. THEY BELIEVE IT IS A KNOWN DEFECT IN GMC PARTS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE KEY WAS ABLE TO BE REMOVED FROM THE IGNITION WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO TURN THE KEY AND REMOVE IT FROM THE IGNITION WITHOUT THE VEHICLE BEING IN PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS NEITHER INSPECTED NOR REPAIRED FOR THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER WHO ADVISED HER TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. IN ADDITION, THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 04V302000 (POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION). THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,000 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 70,000.

ACCORDING TO THE INVOICE, THERE WAS AN INTERNAL PROBLEM IN THE IGNITION CYLINDER TUMBLERS. THE DEALER REPLACED THE IGNITION CYLINDER. THE CONSUMER CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE PROBLEMS, WITH THE IGNITION CYLINDER BINDING UP DUE TO DEBRIS INSIDE THE CYLINDER HOUSING. THE LOCK CYLINDER WAS REPLACED. *JB

NOT SURE OF EXACT FIRST DATE CLUNKING SOUNDS UNDER CAR TOOK IT IN AND THE BEARINGS THAT HOLD THE DRIVE SHAFT WERE BROKEN. MECHANIC SAID NEVER SAW SOMETHING LIKE THAT ON A CAR WITHOUT ANY OTHER DAMAGE AND THAT WHEN HE CHECKED WITH LOCAL DEALER WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS HAPPENING A LOT. I REPORTED TO CHEVY ALSO AND YET THEY SAID THERE WERE NO PROBLEMS. *TR
I HAVE BEEN HAVING THIS ISSUE FOR A FEW YEARS NOW. WHEN I PUT THE KEY IN THE IGNITION AND GO TO TURN KEY OVER, THE KEY WILL NOT TURN. I HAVE TO SIT THERE AND WIGGLE UP AND DOWN AND BACK AND FORTH TO GET THE KEY TO FINALLY TURN SO I CAN START THE CAR. NO ONE ELSE CAN DRIVE MY CAR, BECAUSE NO ONE ELSE CAN FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET THE KEY TO TURN OVER. ALSO, MY KEYS COME OUT OF THE IGNITION WHILE CAR IS IN THE ON OR OFF POSITION. IN APRIL OF 09 THE TRUCK WAS LEAKING OIL, HAD HEAD GASKET REPLACED. IN JUNE 2010 THE ENGINE OVERHEATED HEAD GASKETS WAS REPAIRED A SECOND TIME. WHEN RECEIVED TRUCK BACK FROM DEALER TRUCK DIED ON FREEWAY AND NOW IT NEEDS NEW FUSE BLOCK AND MAIN COMPUTER. JUST PAID 2500 IN REPAIRS AND DEALER WANTS 1500 AND CANNOT TELL ME IF THAT WILL FIX THE CURRENT ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. TRUCK IS NOW WORTH 3,000. THIS WAS A 24,000 TRUCK. THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING. *TR

THE FIRST FOUR TIMES WERE FINALLY DIAGNOSED BY GM AS A FAULTY COMPUTER THAT WAS GETTING WET DUE TO A BAD SEAL FROM THE SUNROOF. BECAUSE OF THESE PROBLEMS, I LEASED ANOTHER CAR FOR MY WIFE WHILE I WAS DEPLOYED TO IRAQ SO I WOULD NOT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT HER SAFETY. THE CAR HAS BEEN RUNNING FINE FOR THE PAST YEAR THAT I HAVE BEEN HOME. I HAVE ROUTINELY CHANGED MY OIL AND INSPECTED FLUIDS AND AIR PRESSURES ETC. ON VEHICLES. THE LATEST OCCURRENCE HAPPENED ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK. IT STALLED WAS DUE TO WHAT THE DEALER IS CALLING INTERNAL DAMAGE. SPEAKING TO A CLAIMS AGENT FOR GM I WAS INITIALLY TOLD TO HAVE DEALER CALL FOR AN AUTHORIZATION. THEY REFUSED TO HONOR MY EXTENDED GM WARRANTY AND ARE DEMANDING $1700 JUST TO TEAR IT DOWN TO SEE WHAT THE FAULT OR PROBLEM IS. I HAVE CONTACTED GM EXT WARRANTY AND THEY HAVE FINALLY AGREED TO SEND A INSPECTOR. NOW THEY ARE DEMANDING PROOF OF OIL CHANGES. I CONTACTED MY OIL CHANGE SERVICE CENTER AND THEY JUST SOLD TO A NEW OWNER AND CANNOT ACCESS OLD DATABASE PAST 1 APR 2010...THIS VEHICLE HAS BROKE DOWN (STALLED WITH NO POWER) ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS IN VERY DANGEROUS AREAS WITH LIMITED ROOM TO PULL OVER DUE TO MOUNTAINOUS TERRAIN AND NUMEROUS BIG RIGS TRAVELING THE ROUTE. NO ACCIDENTS OR INJURIES HAVE OCCURRED YET, BUT THIS VEHICLE IS AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN. AFTER THIS LATEST INCIDENT, I HAVE RESEARCHED ONLINE AND HAVE FOUND NUMEROUS EXAMPLES OF OTHER PEOPLE HAVING SIMILAR INCIDENTS WITH THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE/MOTOR. I HAVE JUST HAD MY ENGINE'S HEADGASKETS BLOW-OUT AT 43,000 MILES ON A CAR THAT HAS BEEN MAINTAINED EXACTLY TO MANUFACTURER'S SPECIFICATION. THE CAR'S BRAKING SYSTEM IS ALSO DANGEROUSLY UNDER POWERED. I HAVE WORN THROUGH TWO SETS OF ROTORS AND PADS ALREADY IN 43,000 MILES. I DO NOT DRIVE AGGRESSIVELY EITHER. MY COUSIN AND HER HUSBAND HAD A PONTIAC MONTANA MINI VAN THAT HAD THE SAME ISSUE AND GM DID NOTHING ABOUT IT. BRAKE SYSTEM FAILING. ABS AND TRACTION SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONING CAUSING ABS SYSTEM TO ACTIVATE IN NORMAL BRAKING SITUATIONS. DEALER SHIP SAID IT WAS A SENSOR, HAD IT REPAIRED AT THE TUNE OF $110 SYSTEM CHECK, $170 HUB/SENSOR ASSEMBLY PURCHASE. FIRESTONE AUTO CARE SAID IT WAS A FAULTY WIRE HARNESS THAT I AM HAVE REPLACE TO DAY TO THE TUNE OF $250. PER THE TECH AT FIRE STONE THIS IS HIS THIRD REPAIR OF THIS TYPE, SAME MAKE AND MODEL CARE. 2005 CHEVY EQUINOX. *TR
MY 2005 CHEVY EQUINOX STARTED OVERHEATING THIS WINTER. IMMEDIATELY TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED A BROKEN WATER PUMP. A FEW MONTHS PASSED WITH NO ISSUE THEN IT STARTED OVERHEATING AGAIN. I TOOK IT TO THE MECHANIC WHO INFORMED ME THAT THE HEAD GASKET NEEDED REPLACEMENT. I'VE GONE ON MULTIPLE SITES THAT REPORT THE SAME ISSUE WITH THEIR CHEVY EQUINOX. ALTHOUGH, NO ONE WAS HURT IN MY SITUATION, THE REPEATED OCCURRENCE OF THIS HAPPENING WITH OTHER EQUINOX OWNERS IS PUZZLING AND SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED AT THE LEAST. IN MY SITUATION I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THE CAR SLOWED DOWN FROM 60 MPH TO UNDER 40 MPH. LUCKILY THERE WEREN'T A LOT OF DRIVERS ON THE ROAD AND I WAS ABLE TO PULL ALL THE WAY OVER ACROSS TRAFFIC. . THIS VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE AND CHEVY HAS EVEN LOGGED THIS FAULTY HEAD GASKET ISSUE IN THEIR SERVICE BULLETINS. *TR
