TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE STARTING THE VEHICLE, THERE WAS AN ABNORMALLY STRONG ODOR OF GASOLINE INSIDE THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT LOOKED UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE AND NOTICE A FUEL LEAK COMING FROM THE FUEL TANK. THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS A CRACK IN THE FUEL PUMP. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. AN UNKNOWN DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 66,000.*DT*DT*JB
I WAS HEADING DOWNTOWN WITH MY KIDS AND THIS CAR CUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD WHILE I WAS DRIVING THIS WAS ONE OF THE WORSE DAYS OF MY LIFE CHEVROLET SHOULD BE ASHAMED ALL THEM EQUINOX NEEDS TO BE RECALLED BEFORE SOMEONE DIES THIS CAR SET A LITTLE BLAZE STALLED OUT IVE ONLY SEEN CHEVY EQUINOX DO THIS
WHEN YOU DRIVE IT THE TRANSMISSON WON'T SHIFT OUT OF SECOND GEAR. IT MAKES IT HARD TO GET ANYWHERE. IT ONLY HAW 110,000 MILES ON IT AND JUST HAD THE TIMING CHAIN DONE ON IT AND THE DAY WENT TO GET IT WAS ON MY WAY HOME AND WON'T COME OUT OF 2ND GEAR.
HAD A FOUL FUEL SMELL, FOUND OUT GAS TANK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. REPAIR FACILITY STATED THAT CHEVY HAD THE TANK IN 'READY',NO ISSUE TO ORDER ONE. SOUNDS LIKE SOME ONE WAS READY FOR THIS TO HAPPEN. NO ASSISTANCE FROM THE DEALER OR CHEVROLET. DRIVERS SIDE FROM DOOR TO REAR OF CAR PAINT IS FALLING OFF. I CAN SEE AND FEEL SOME SORT OF 'BUBBLES' UNDER THE PAINT. LOOKS LIKE NO RECALL.
THE TIMING CHAIN WENT OUT. *TR
THE TIMING CHAIN AND GUIDES WENT BAD AT ONLY 110K MILES. AND IF IT WAS RECALLED LIKE THE 2009 CHEVY TRAVERSE WAS THEN I WOULDN'T HAVE HAD TO FIX IT. IT HAS THE SAME MOTOR. IT IS THE 3.6L MOTOR. BECAUSE IT IS THE SPORTS MODEL. IT WAS THROWING P0008 P0018 P0017 AND TWO TRANSMISSION CODES SO I BELIEVE THE TRANSMISSION IS BAD NOW. IT IS THROWING CODES P0752 AND P0700. *TR
THE AIRBAG SENSOR LIGHT COMES ON AND OFF AND AFTER REVIEW OF THIS INFO ONLINE THERE ARE SO MANY COMPLAINTS AGAINST THIS SAME ISSUE NOT SURE WHY NO ONE WILL LOOK INTO THE RECALL NEEDED FOR THESE AIRBAGS THE DEALER IS SAYING IT WILL 1200 TO REPLACE SENSOR LIGHT PUT IN BY MANUFACTURER THIS IS INSANE AMOUNT OF MONEY NEEDED TO KEEP PEOPLE SAFE ON THE RIDE THIS IS MUST HAVE ITEM IN A CAR
KEY WON'T RELEASE RIGHT AWAY AFTER TURNING OFF ENGINE. SOMETIMES IT TAKES A FEW MINUTES TO RELEASE . IT'S HAPPENED DOZENS OF TIMES
MY AIRBAG LIGHT AND 'SERVICE AIR BAG' LIGHT AND ABS LIGHT AND STABALIZE TRACK LIGHT WERE ALL ON FOR A FEW WEEK AND I TOOK IT TO LOCAL SHOP WHO SAID THE SENSOR FOR THE BRAKES UNDER DRIVER SEAT WAS BAD SO THAT COST $580.00 FOR NEW MODULE. THAT TOOK CARE OF ABS/STABILIZE LIGHTS. HAD TO TO GO DEALER FOR AIRBAG LIGHTS AND THEY CHARGED $1070.00 BECAUSE THE AIRBAG MODULE UNDER PASSENGER SEAT WAS OUT AND HAD TO REPLACE (PART 560 PLUS LABOR). I DON'T FEEL LIKE I SHOULD HAVE HAD TO PAY FOR THE AIRBAGS!! THE AIRBAG LIGHTS WERE ON FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS AND NEVER WENT OFF SO I FINALLY GOT TIRED OF IT...NO MATTER IF SOMEONE WAS SITTING IN SEAT OR NOT, OR WHETHER IT WAS IDLE, IN MOTION, ETC.
"TAKATA RECALL" SERVICE AIR BAG , THAT IS WHAT COMES UP ON DASH EVERY TIME I START THE CAR.
THE STEERING PUMP HAS GONE OUT, AND THE FLASHING ENGINE LIGHT JUST CAME ON . THE CAR IS MISFIRING. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL ON THIS MODEL AND YEAR. MORE PEOPLE ARE HAVING THESE SAME ISSUES!
MY CAR STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY DUE TO THE COMPUTER SYSTEM AND MY AIRBAG LIGHT HAS BEEN ON SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR.
The contact owns a 2009 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that there was an abnormal fuel odor coming from the vehicle. Upon inspection, the contact discovered a fuel leak coming from the gas tank. The contact also stated that the check engine warning light was illuminating while driving up an incline; however, the light disappeared shortly afterwards. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the contact was informed that there were no open recalls on the VIN. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 46,000.
TAKATA RECALL. SERVICE AIR BAG FOR PASSENGER SEAT IS ON AND AIR BAG IS OFF. BEGAN WHILE STATIONARY WITH PASSENGER IN THE SEAT. THIS VEHICLE HAS 58,000 MILES ON IT. UNACCEPTABLE THAT IT IS NOT UNDER RECALL.
2009 CHEVY EQUINOX AWD HAS STEERING PROBLEM. WHEN TURNING LEFT OR RIGHT AT NORMAL SPEEDS FOR TURNS, THE POWER STEERING SEEMS TO LOSE POWER AND VERY HARD TO TURN AS IT SEEMS THE POWER STEERING ENDS. IT RECOVERS BUT INTERMITTENTLY. DOES NOT HAPPEN ON ALL TURNS BUT USUALLY HAPPENS MANY TIMES IN A DAY. HAPPENS DURING COOL OR WARM DAYS AND ALL KINDS OF OTHER WEATHER SITUATIONS. I HAVE READ THAT OTHER GM VEHICLES ARE BEING RECALLED DUE TO THIS TYPE OF PROBLEM. SEEMS TO BE A VOLTAGE DROP AND THEIR FIX IS A SOFTWARE UPDATE. THIS ISSUE IS BEING EXPERIENCED BY MANY CHEVY EQUINOX OWNERS. THE TURNS GET HARD AND THEN SEEMS TO RECOVER WHEN ACCELERATING INTO THE TURN. THIS HAS TO BE A VOLTAGE DROP ISSUE OR SIMILAR. THIS CAN CAUSE.AN ACCIDENT IF IT OCCURS AT THE WRONG TIME. PLEASE.HELP GET A RECALL.ON THIS.
TAKATA RECALL. I SEE THAT THE 2009 CHEVY EQUINOX IS NOT ON THE SCHEDULE TO BE RECALLED, HOWEVER, THERE ARE SO MANY WITH THE SAME AIRBAG PROBLEM. IT'S A SCANDAL THAT THEY ARE ABLE TO GET AWAY WITH NOT RECALLING. SAME PROBLEM WITH THE STABILLINK, TRACTION CONTROL AND ABS LIGHTS. IT IS A PROBLEM FOR ALL OF THESE VEHICLES!
THE AIRBAG SENSOR LIGHT STAYS ON INTERMITTENTLY AND WHEN IT DOES, THE PASSENGER AIRBAG SAYS "OFF" AND NOTIFICATION MESSAGE SAYS "SERVICE PASSENGER AIRBAG". EVERY SHOP I HAVE TO TAKE IT TO SAYS THEY SEE NO PROBLEMS, BUT A DEALER HAS TO TAKE A LOOK. THIS STARTED HAPPENING IN 2018 AND HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE. I HAVE BEEN READING THAT THIS IS PROBLEM FOR THIS MODEL OF EQUINOX AROUND THIS TIME IN ITS LIFE. THE STABLE TRACK IS SIMILAR. EVERY SO OFTEN, IT STOPS WORKING BUT THEN MOST OF THE TIME IS FINE. *TR
I HAVE HEAT PROBLEMS, I HAVE PUT $1,200 INTO THE REPAIRS AND TO NO AVAIL THERE STILL IS A PROBLEM

WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE VEHICLE SPONTANEOUSLY ACCELERATED FORWARD AND THE CONTACT USED THE GEAR SHIFTER TO PLACE THE VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL.THE STABILIZATION SYSTEM INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT CALLED A LOCAL DEALER (AUTO PLAZA CHEVROLET MARBLE HILL, 100 CONRAD ST, MARBLE HILL, MO 63764) STATED THAT THE HOSES NEEDED TO BE CLEANED AND THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE RESET. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 129,700.

THE THERMOSTAT WAS REPLACED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 136,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. WHILE DRIVING, AN ODOR OF ANTIFREEZE WAS COMING THROUGH THE VENTS INSIDE THE VEHICLE. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE HEATER CORE WAS LEAKING ANTIFREEZE ONTO THE GROUND, THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW FAILED TO ROLL DOWN, THE DRIVER'S SIDE TURN SIGNAL FAILED TO LOCK IN PLACE WHILE IN USE, AND THE REAR BRAKE LIGHT BULB FAILED FOUR TIMES WITHIN THE YEAR AND WAS REPLACED BY THE CONTACT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DUE TO THE DIAGNOSTIC AND REPAIR FEES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THE VEHICLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,000.
I AM FILING MY COMPLAINT DUE TO SOME RE-ACCRUING ISSUES THAT I CONTINUOUSLY HAVE WITH MY TRUCK I JUST BOUGHT IN JUNE OF 2017. I HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR OVERHEATED NEEDLE FLUCTUATIONS AND SHUTTING DOWN ON ME. THE AIR BAGS DOES NOT WORK FOR THE PASSENGER SEAT AND THERE ARE A COUPLE OF SENSORS THAT ARE ON AND CONSTANTLY STAYS ON WHEN CRANKING THE CAR AND DRIVING. I ALSO HAVE PROBLEMS WHEN I TURN THE WHEEL TO THE RIGHT HEARING A RUBBING GRAINING NOISE ALSO HEAR A TRICKLING NOISE WHEN PRESSING THE GAS TO GO. I HAVE HAD MY CAR WORKED ON BY A MECHANIC TWICE. HAD MY RADIATOR FLUSHED THERMOSTAT REPLACED AND ANTI-FREEZE TAKE FLUSHED AND STILL THE SAME ISSUES. MY COOLAN FAN CAUSES MY BATTERY TO GO DEAD AND HAVE TO GET A JUMP START MORE THAN ONCE. THIS ISSUE HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING SITTING OR EVEN ON THE HIGHWAY. I'M TAKING THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER TO SEE IF THEY CAN FIGURE THE ISSUE OUT.

THE AIRBAG LIGHT SAYS 'OFF' WHEN THERE IS AN ADULT PASSENGER RIDING IN THE SEAT. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING ON AND OFF FOR OVER A YEAR. THE DASHBOARD ON THE PASSENGER SIDE IS CRACKING AROUND THE AIRBAG. THE CRACK IS OUTLINING THE SPACE WHERE THE AIRBAG WOULD POP OUT FROM. IT APPEARS UNSAFE AS IF IT'S FAULTY AND COULD INITIATE AT ANY MINUTE. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH IT LOOKS AS IF OTHER MODELS WITH SIMILAR PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN RECALLED. I'VE SEEN SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ONLINE FOR THIS MODEL BUT NO RECALLS ARE SHOWN. THERE ARE OTHER 2009 GMS THAT HAVE RECALLS ISSUED.
WHEN I HIT 20-30 MPH THE SUV HAS A HESITATION AND THEN I HAVE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON AND THEN SERVICE STABILITREK AND THER IS ANOTHER I FORGET WHAT IT SAYS AND WHEN I TURN SOMETIMES THE WHOLE DASH LIGHTS UP
CHEVY EQANOX RECALL. WHEN RAINING OR ON WET ROADS OR SNOW THIS LIGHT POPS UP AND SAYS ENGINE REDUCING POWER AND SAYS SERVICE STABILITY TRACK THEN SHUTS THE CAR DOWN I THINK THAT THIS IS A RECALL BECAUSE SEVERAL OF INDIVIDUALS I KNO HAVE CHEVYS AND HAVE THIS ISSUE I TOOK TO DEALERSHIP THEY NEVER. FIGURED OUT FOR ME .
FUEL LINE OF VEHICLE IS LEAKING FUEL SOMEWHERE NEAR THE FUEL PUMP OR FUEL TANK. FUEL WILL DRIP FROM UNDER THE VEHICLE AND ACCUMULATE. VEHICLE CONSTANTLY SMELLS OF FUEL AND TAKES A LONG TIME TO START AS A RESULT OF THE FUEL LINE HAVING NO INITIAL PRESSURE. CONSTANT FUEL LEAK POSES A DANGER TO OUR HOME AND OTHER VEHICLES ON THE ROAD NOT TO MENTION OUR PERSONAL SAFETY.
IN 2015, I TOOK MY CAR TO MONUMENT CHEVROLET AND TOLD THE DEALERSHIP THAT MY CAR IS NOT UNLOCKING THE DOORS WHEN I AM USING THE REMOTE. I HAD TO USE MY KEY TO UNLOCK MY DRIVER SIDE DOOR MANUALLY AND THE REACH OVER TO UNLOCK THE OTHER DOORS. BEFORE THE DEALERSHIP EVEN RAN A DIAGNOSIS TEST, THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WAS MY LOCK MECHANISM AND IT WAS GOING TO COST ME $300.00 PER DOOR TO FIND THE PROBLEM. I DECLINE AND TOLD THEM I WILL DO IT THE OLD FASHION WAY BY USING THE KEY. IT LOOKS AND SEEMS LIKE THE DEALERSHIP KNEW THERE WAS A EXISTING PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL VEHICLE AS QUICKLY AS THEY QUOTED ME A PRICE WITHOUT EVEN LOOKING AT THE PROBLEM AND THAT THERE IS A MAJOR ELECTRICAL ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL FOR THE MALFUNCTION. NOW ITS OVER A YEAR AND I STILL HAVE TO UNLOCK MY CAR THE OLD FASHION WAY EVEN AFTER I CHANGED THE BATTERY IN THE REMOTE.
WHEN I HAVE A PASSENGER (ADULT OR CHILD) SIT ON THE FRONT (PASSENGER SEAT) THE AIR BAG LIGHT SOMETIMES ILLUMINATES THAT THE AIRBAG IS "ON" AND SOMETIMES IT'S "OFF" WHILE THE PASSENGER IS SITTING. I'VE ALSO NOTICED THAT IF MY PASSENGER IS SITTING STILL, THE LIGHT WILL STAY "ON" BUT AS SOON AS THE PASSENGER MOVES, THE LIGHT WILL CHANGE TO "OFF". AT FIRST IT SEEMED LIKE A "TEMPERAMENTAL" ISSUE BECAUSE SOMETIMES IT JUST STAYED ON THE "ON" POSITION WHILE THE PASSENGER SAT. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE GM DEALER WHEN THE ISSUE BECAME MORE OFTEN AND THEY DIAGNOSED AN ISSUE RECOMMENDED TO HAVE THE PASSENGER PRESENCE MODULE REPLACED. ON RESEARCHING, I FOUND THAT THERE ARE RECALLS FOR THIS PARTICULAR ISSUE BUT ON EARLIER CHEVY MODEL CARS.
PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG IS INTERMITTINGLY ON AND OFF. IN MOTION AND SITTING STILL. GET "SERVICE AIR BAG" ON DIC, AND PASSENGER AIR BAG ON/ OFF INDICATOR SHOWS OFF WITH PASSENGER SEAT OCCUPIED. NO PATTERN - JUST SPORADIC. VERY CONCERNED ABOUT IT NOT WORKING IN A CRASH, AS WELL AS GOING OFF ON ITS OWN. HAPPENS STATIONARY AND IN MOTION.
THE PASSENGER SERVICE AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON. THE PASSENGER "ON / OFF" LIGHT STAYS ON THE OFF POSITION WHEN A PASSENGER IS SETTING IN THE SEAT
PASSENGER AIRBAG WILL TURN OFF WHILE DRIVING AND WITH A PASSENGER IN THE SEAT. SERVICE AIRBAG WARNING DISPLAYED IN INFORMATION CENTER. THIS NOW OCCURS EVEN WHILE STATIONARY. CAN NO LONGER HAVE A PASSENGER IN THAT SEAT WHILE DRIVING.
PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT WILL TURN ITSELF OFF/ON WHILE DRIVING OR IF VEHICLE IS AT A STANDSTILL. EVEN IF NO ONE IS SITTING IN THE SEAT. SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON EVERY TIME PASSENGER AIRBAG SENSOR TURNS OFF. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO REMOVE THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION SWITCH. THE CONTACT CALLED THE DEALER (DICK SHIRLEY CHEVROLET AT (336) 792-1922, LOCATED AT 2616 ALAMANCE RD, BURLINGTON, NC 27215) AND WAS ADVISED TO PLACE WD-40 ON THE IGNITION SWITCH TO REMOVE THE KEY. THE CONTACT DID AS ADVISED AND WAS ABLE TO REMOVE THE KEY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH AND ATTEMPTING TO ROLL THE WINDOW DOWN, THE SWITCH WOULD NOT WORK. THE CONTACT MADE SEVERAL UNSUCCESSFUL ATTEMPTS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SWITCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS CHECKED AGAIN AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT IF THERE WERE ANY ISSUES WITH THE WIRING, THE CONTACT WOULD BE LIABLE FOR THE REPAIRS. WHEN THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR WAS OPENED, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE WIRING HARNESS FRACTURED AND THE WIRES WERE BRITTLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 93,351.
THE DASHBOARD ON THE PASSENGER SIDE IS CRACKING AROUND THE AIRBAG. THE CRACK IS OUTLINING THE SPACE WHERE THE AIRBAG WOULD POP OUT FROM. IT APPEARS UNSAFE AS IF ITS FAULTY AND COULD INITIATE AT ANY MINUTE. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH IT LOOKS AS IF OTHER MODELS WITH SIMILAR PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN RECALLED. I'M REPORTING THIS BECAUSE I SAW AN EXPOSE ON THE TAKATA AIRBAGS AND GM WAS MENTIONED. I'VE SEEN SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ONLINE FOR THIS MODEL BUT NO RECALLS ARE SHOWN. THERE ARE OTHER 2009 GMS THAT HAVE RECALLS ISSUED. A BODY SHOP TOLD US WE SHOULD CONTACT THE DEALER FOR AN ESTIMATE BECAUSE THERE WERE RECALLS ON THEIR AIRBAGS BUT THE DEALER SAID THERE ARE NONE. I'M TAKING THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR A FREE ESTIMATE AFTER NOTIFYING THEM THE CRACK HAS BEEN DEVELOPING FOR SOME TIME AND WE'VE BEEN WAITING ON A RECALL.

MY 2009 CHEVY EQUINOX IS SLOWING DOWN WHEN I REACH 4 RPMS AND WILL NOT SPEED BACK UP UNTIL I GO BACK DOWN TO 3 RPMS NO MATTER HOW FAST OR SLOW I AN GOING ONCE IT REACHES 4 RPMS IT SLOWS DOWN. WHEN I SHUT THE CAR OFF SOMETHING IS STILL RUNNING UNDER THE HOLD BECAUSE I CAN HEAR IT. IT WAS 10 MINUTES BEFORE IT FINALLY SHUT OFF COMPLETELY.
VEHICLE DISPLAYED WILL IN MOTION MERGING ON TO THE HIGHWAY. THAT WHEN YOU TAKE OFF A DELAY HAPPENS AT OVER 4000 RPMS OR AT ANYTIME YOU TRY TO GO OVER 4000RPMS. ITS LIKE THE ENGINE CUTS OFF OR LOSES ACCELERATION AN STAYS AT 40 MPH AND WILL NOT ACCELERATE UNTIL THE GAUGE FOR RPMS GOES BACK DOWN UNDER 4000 RPMS. THEN THE ENGINE WILL START TO ACCELERATE AGAIN LIKE A NORMAL VEHICLE UNTIL YOU TRY TO PICKUP SPEED OR ACCELERATE OVER 4000 RPMS.
I WAS RECENTLY IN A VEHICLE ACCIDENT. MY VEHICLE SHUT OFF AS I WAS DRIVING AND IN ROUTE OF A TRAFFIC LIGHT. AS A RESULT OF MY VEHICLE SHUTTING OFF, I HAD NO BRAKES AND WAS THEREFORE UNABLE TO PREVENT MY VEHICLE FROM PROCEEDING THROUGH A RED LIGHT. I THEN HIT A TOW TRUCK AND WAS T BONED. MY VEHICLE WAS TOTALED AS A RESULT AND MYSELF AND MY 2 CHILDREN WERE TRANSPORTED TO OUR LOCAL EMERGENCY ROOM DUE TO INJURIES. PREVIOUS MONTHS I'VE HAD A ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLE SHUTTING OFF WHILE DRIVING. ALL THE GAUGES WENT DOWN AND THE VEHICLES' ENGINE WAS APPEARED TO BE SHUT OFF. I ALSO HAVE HAD THE VEHICLES ENGINE REMAIN RUNNING AFTER TURNING THE VEHICLE OFF AND REMOVING THE KEYS FROM MY IGNITION. I WOULD TRY TURNING IT ON AND OFF SEVERAL TIMES TO GET THE ENGINE TO EVENTUALLY SHUT OFF AND WOULD HAVE SEVERAL FAILED ATTEMPTS.
AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT ON - TOOK TO MECHANIC YESTERDAY AND THEY FOUND THE FOLLOWING "B0074 & B0081 SET. DIAGNOSED AND FOUND PASSENGER PRESENCE MODULE INTERNALLY FAILED". THEY TOLD ME IT'S A 800+ REPAIR. CALLED DEALER PRIORITY CHEVEROLET IN CHESAPEAKE VIRGINIA AND THEY SAID TO CHECK CONNECTIONS BELOW SEAT AS THEY SOMETIMES COME LOOSE. AS AN ENGINEER I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE THAT SUCH A VITAL LIFE SAVING DEVICE WOULD HAVE SUCH AN EASY SINGLE POINT FAILURE TO BE SO EASY TO COME LOOSE AS BY SIMPLE MOVING THE SEAT. WHEN YOU OBSERVE THE SWITCH MODULE BELOW THE SEAT IT IS JUST THERE DANGLING! THIS NEEDS TO GET ROLLED UP AS A RECALL.

ONSTAR RAN A DIAGNOSTIC AND DISCOVERED THAT THE BATTERY UNDERNEATH THE DRIVER SEAT THAT WAS LINKED TO THE ONSTAR SYSTEM AND THE AIR BAG SYSTEM FAILED. WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE LIGHT ON MY DASH TOLD ME TO CHECK AIR BAGS. IT WOULD NUTMEG OFF. I TOOK IT TO RYDELL CHEVROLET AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THE "SWITCH" WAS NOT WORKING AND MY AIR BAGS WERE INOPERABLE. THEY ALSO TOLD ME THAT THE REPAIR WAS NOT COVERED AND WOULD COST ME OVER $900.00. IN WAS FURIOUS AND SPOKE TO CHEVROLET CUSTOMER SERVICE . THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY WOULD TALK TO THE DEALER. THEY GAVE ME $70.00 OFF. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER GM PRODUCT AGAIN. I STILL THINK THAT THEY SHOULD HAVE FIXED IT AT NO CHARGE BECAUSE OF THE MILEAGE ON THE SUV. *TR
OUR VEHICLE'S RADIO BEGAN TO NOT SHUT OFF AFTER THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR WAS OPENED, AND THE KEYS WERE OUT OF THE IGNITION. WE BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS CONVINCED THAT IT WAS EITHER THE DOOR SWITCH OR THE RADIO. HAVING A MAJOR GUARD PROTECTION PLAN, THE RADIO WASN'T TO BE COVERED AND THE DOOR SWITCH WOULD. I CHOSE NOT TO HAVE THE PROBLEM FIXED THINKING THAT WE'D CONTINUE TO SHUT THE RADIO OFF. IT WASN'T UNTIL THE DRIVER SIDE POWER WINDOW STOPPED WORKING AND I REPLACED THE MOTOR (TO NO AVAIL) AND DID SOME RESEARCH ONLINE DID I FIND THAT SIMILAR OWNERS HAD THE SAME SYMPTOMS. I EVENTUALLY RESEARCHED AND FOUND THAT THE ELECTRICAL PATHWAY FROM THE CAR BODY TO THE DOOR CAUSED THE WIRES INSIDE TO STRETCH, CRACK, AND BREAK. THE 2 WIRES THAT WERE BROKEN WERE THE DOOR SENSOR WIRE AND THE POWER WINDOW WIRE. TAKING IT BACK TO PARKWAY CHEVROLET TO HAVE THEM RESEARCH THIS AND DIAGNOSE, THEIR REMEDY WAS TO HAVE THE WIRES RE-SAULDER. I WOULD LIKE FOR THE WIRING HARNESS BE REPLACED. LOOKS AND SEEMS LIKE THERE'S A MAJOR ELECTRICAL ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL FOR THE MALFUNCTION. *TR
