TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE JERKED AND A WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE LATER SHUT DOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AND WAS TOWED TO A DEALER. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED AND REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 60,000. UPDATED 06/07/17*LJ UPDATED 06/09/17 *JS
OIL CONSUMPTION.6 MONTHS AGO CALLED ANTELOPE VALLEY CHEVROLET 1160 MOTOR LANE, LANCASTER,CA ABOUT OIL CONSUMPTION. I NOTICED NO OIL WAS VISIBLE ON THE ENGINE OIL DIP STICK. THE SERVICE ADVISOR STATED MAKE SURE TO FILL IT UP AND WATCH IT NO NEED TO BRING IT IN AT THIS TIME. ON MARCH 15, 2017 THE VEHICLE POPPED AN ENGINE CODE FOR BOTH KNOCK SENSORS AND PERFORMANCE OF THE SENSORS. I THEN MADE AN APPOINTMENT THAT EVENING FOR THE FOLLOWING MORNING. AFTER MAKING THE APPOINTMENT I CHECKED THE ENGINE OIL AND NO OIL WAS PRESENT AT THAT TIME AGAIN. I ADDED 2.5 QUARTS OF OIL TO MAKE THE DRIVE TO DEALERSHIP THE NEXT MORNING. I ALSO RESEARCHED AND FOUND THAT THERE WAS AN OPEN RECALL FOR OIL CONSUMPTION. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED MY VEHICLE BY DOING AN OIL CHANGE AND FOUND METAL FLAKES IN THE OIL FILTER. THE ENGINE OIL LIGHT NEVER CAME ON DURING THE LAST SIX MONTHS.THE DEALERSHIP STATED THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT A PRICE OF $8,000. AS A MILITARY MEMBER WHO HAS MOVED 6 TIMES IN LAST 3 YEARS IT IS REALLY HARD TO KEEP RECEIPTS. THE DEALERSHIP STATED WITHOUT MAINTENANCE RECORDS THEY WILL NOT DO ANYTHING OR PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE. THE SERVICE ADVISOR SAID THAT WE CAN HAVE YOU TALK TO SALES DEPARTMENT AND SEE WHAT THEY CAN DO FOR YOU. ON MONDAY MARCH 20, 2017 I WENT INTO THE DEALERSHIP WANTING TO TALK WITH SERVICE MANAGER ROBERT. HE STATED THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING WITHOUT SERVICE RECORD AND I FINALLY CONVINCED HIM TO SUBMIT IT FOR WARRANTY WORK. THAT EVENING I CALLED CORPORATE AND SPOKE WITH CUSTOMER CARE. THEY TOOK MY CLAIM AND CALLED ME BACK ON MONDAY MARCH 27, 2017. CORPORATE STATED THEY COULD NOT DO ANYTHING OR PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE. TODAY, MARCH 29, 2017 SERVICE ADVISOR CALLED ME AND STATED THEY WOULD NOT DO ANY WARRANTY WORK. I THEN STATED I WILL PICK MY VEHICLE UP AND WILL BE FILING AN OFFICIAL COMPLAINT. GENERAL MOTORS IS NOT BACKING THEIR PRODUCT UP OF THIS KNOW ISSUE
SINCE I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE, I CONSTANTLY GET A "SERVICE AIRBAG" MESSAGE ON MY DASHBOARD. I HAVE NOTIFIED THE DEALER AS WELL AS GM/CHEVORLET BY PHONE AND WAS TOLD THAT UNFORTUNATELY THERE IS NO RECALL FOR THIS. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALER IN WHICH I PURCHASED AND SINCE THEY DID NOT SEE THE MESSAGE THEY SAID THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. I FEAR (GOD FORBID) BEING IN AN ACCIDENT AND THE AIRBAG DOES NOT DEPLOY. I DO TRAVEL WITH MY CHILDREN IN WHICH ONE OF THE 3 IS A TODDLER. IS THERE ANYTHING THAT CAN BE DONE. - ALSO WHICH IS VERY ANNOYING MY KEY GETS STUCK IN THE IGNITION. NOW I HAVE 2 SETS OF KEYS ONE GETS STUCK MORE THAN THE OTHER, BUT THERE ARE TIMES WHERE I HAVE TO SPEND HOURS TRYING TO REMOVE IT - I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER BUT ONCE AGAIN WAS TOLD NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THIS. I HAVE SEEN NUMEROUS VIDEOS AND FORUMS WITH THE SAME COMPLAINT. NEEDLES TO SAY I WOULD NEVER PURCHASE A CHEVY AGAIN! TOO MANY ISSUES FOR A CAR THAT I'VE ONLY HAD A FEW YEARS.

THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 63,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. WHILE DRIVING DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS FAILED TO FUNCTION. THE CONTACT HAD A TOTAL LOSS OF VISIBILITY. THE MANUFACTURER INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS EXCLUDED FROM A RECALL AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. CAM CHAIN BROKE SECOND TIME
MY HEAT AND DEFOGGER SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING WHILE CAR WAS IN MOTION.
CAR ONLY HAS 89K MILES AND IT'S HAVING ISSUES WHEN IT'S ACCELERATING AND SWITCHING GEARS. IT ALSO STALLS OFTEN WHILE IN MOTION. ALSO HAVING AN ISSUE WITH MY DEFROSTER CONTROLLER. SEEMS LIKE THIS IS A RECALL IN THE SAME YEAR AND MODEL BUT MY VIN DOESN'T QUALIFY
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH, WHILE THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE REVERSE SNAP RING FAILED AND THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,889.
I GOT A RECAL ABOUT MY AIRBAGS . WHEN I TOOK IT IN THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT IT WAS THE SEATBELT TINSHNER WAS AT FALT AND THAT WAS NOT COVERED BY THE RECALL. THE DEALER IS PHELTIER CHEVY IN TYLER TEX.
I HAVE TO REPLACE THE WIPER TRANSMISSION FOR THE 3RD TIME SINCE I HAVE OWNED THE VEHICLE. I JUST PURCHASED IT AT THE END OF 2012. THE FIRST TIME I WAS DRIVING IN A RAINSTORM, THE SECOND TIME IT WAS THE MIDDLE OF WINTER AND WAS SNOWING, AND NOW TODAY. *TR
I BOUGHT A 2010 EQUINOX NEW, AT 49,000 MILES THE TRANSFER CASE WENT OUT OF IT AND NOW 6 MONTHS LATER AT 55,000 MILES THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT IT WAS THE 3-5 REVERVSE WAVE PLATE WE WERE TOLD THAT SHATTERED. AND SINCE IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY OF COURSE GM WOULD NOT HONOR TO GET THIS PLATE FIXED EVEN THOUGH IT ONLY HAD 55,000 MILES ON IT. WE WERE TOLD THESE PLATES WHEN THEY WERE HARDEN THEY WERE HARDEN TO HARD AND SO THEY SHATTER. THIS IS DEFIANTLY A GM ISSUE AND THEY SHOULD REPAIR THESE AT NO COST BUT THEY WON'T ADMIT THERE IS A PROBLEM. THIS TRANSMISSION JUST HAPPENED ALL AT ONCE I PUT IT IN GEAR AND THERE IT WENT OUT. IF GM IS GOING TO BUILD A THROW AWAY CAR AT 50,000 MILES THEN THEY SHOULD SELL IT AS A THROW AWAY CAR. THEY KNOW THEY HAVE TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS BUT THEY KEEP SOCKING THE CONSUMER FOR COSTLY REPAIRS BECAUSE ALL THEY CAN SAY IS IT'S OUT OF WARRANTY. YOU WOULD THINK YOUR CAR WOULD LAST MORE THAN 55,000 MILES.
FOUR TIMES WITHIN THE LAST TWO MONTHS THE STABILE SYMBOL, CHECK ENGINE SYMBOL, AND REDUCED ENGINE POWER ALERT HAVE COME ON. THE FIRST TIME HAPPENED WHEN I WAS PARKING, THE 2ND TIME WHEN I LET THE CAR WARM UP, THE 3RD TIME WHEN I WAS DOING 60MPH ON THE EXPRESSWAY AND THE 4TH TIME WHEN I HAD GONE ABOUT 5 BLOCKS ON A CITY STREET. EACH TIME I WAS DRIVING, THE CAR SLOWED DOWN AND BECAME HARD TO CONTROL. I WAS ABLE TO GET OFF THE ROAD AND CUT OFF THE ENGINE. AFTER SITTING FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES, THE REDUCED POWER ALERT WENT OFF AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYED ON. AFTER ABOUT A DAY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT OUT. THE CAR WILL RUN OK FOR A DAY OR TWO AND THEN START TO ACT UP AGAIN. I WAS TOLD THAT IT PROBABLY HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE GAS MEDAL, HOWEVER THE DEALER HASN'T BEEN ABLE TO DETECT A CODE. I AM CONCERNED THAT I WILL BE ON THE HIGHWAY GOING AT A HIGH SPEED WHEN IT HAPPENS AND NOT BE ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE WAY OF OTHER TRAFFIC. *TR

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED DUE TO SEVERAL RECALLS. THE RECALL SPECIFICS WERE NOT PROVIDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 96,136.
TIMING CHAIN RECALLED BY MFG FIXED, EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION, TIMING CHAIN FAILURE AGAIN, FIXED AGAIN $2700.00, CONTINUED EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION COMPLETE ENGINE FAILURE AT 98,000 MILES.

EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION. EVERY 1,000 MILES OR LESS I NEED TO ADD AT LEAST 1 QUART OF OIL. NO OIL LEAK. HUBLER CHEVROLET IN INDIANAPOLIS HAS INVESTIGATED THE ISSUE. THEY ALSO INDICATED NO LEAK AND THAT THE VEHICLE IS CONSUMING EXCESSIVE OIL. THEY RECOMMEND PISTON AND RING PLACEMENT. I DECLINED SERVICE AT THAT TIME AS THERE IS AN ACTIVE RECALL ON 2010 EQUINOX FOR THIS ISSUE. HOWEVER, MY VIN IS NOT PART OF THIS RECALL. I SPOKE WITH A REPRESENTATIVE FROM GM AND THEY SUGGESTED I CONTACT NHTSA TO SEE IF MY CAR CAN BE CONSIDERED PART OF THE RECALL SINCE I AM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AND RECOMMENDED REPAIRS AS OTHER 2010 EQUINOX. HUBLER CHEVROLET SERVICE MANAGER RECOMMENDED I CHECK THE OIL 500 MILES TO ENSURE ADEQUATE OIL AND ADD IF NECESSARY. ATTACHED IS THE RECALL PAPERWORK I FOUND FOR THE 2010 CHEVY EQUINOX, WHICH DOES NOT APPLY TO MY VEHICLE. ALSO ATTACHED IS THE RECEIPT WITH DIAGNOSTIC AND RECOMMENDED REPAIR FROM THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT. PLEASE CONSIDER MY REQUEST TO ADD MY VEHICLE AND ANY OTHER 2010 CHEVY EQUINOX WITH THE SAME PROBLEM TO THE ACTIVE RECALL TO FIX THE EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUE. WHILE I STAY ON TOP OF CHECKING THE OIL, I AM VERY CONCERNED THAT MY ENGINE WILL LOCK UP WHEN I AM DRIVING. I TRULY FEEL UNSAFE IN MY VEHICLE. THANK YOU.
I EXPERIENCED SUDDEN DECELERATION WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE IN WINTER CONDITIONS. MANY NEAR ACCIDENTS OCCURRED WHILE I STRUGGLED TO MAINTAIN CONTROL AND EXIT THE INTERSTATE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. LOUD KNOCKING FROM THE ENGINE AND A STRONG GAS SMELL IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWED. THE ENGINE STALLED SEVERAL TIMES WHEN I CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP, SUCH AS INTERSECTIONS AS I WENT STRAIGHT TO A NEARBY CHEVROLET DEALER. I WAS INFORMED THE REAR MAIN SEAL BLEW OUT CAUSING A SUDDEN LOSS OF OIL PRESSURE. THEY ALSO SAID THIS HAPPENED DUE TO HIGH POSITIVE PRESSURE IN THE CRANKCASE DUE TO A FROZEN OR BLOCKED PCV VALVE. GM IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE AS STATED IN THE GENERAL MOTORS SERVICE BULLETIN 14882. HOWEVER, GM SAYS MY VIN DOES NOT APPLY IN THIS CASE. DUE TO THE SEVERITY OF THE ISSUE, I FELT IT WAS IMPORTANT TO LET SOMEONE KNOW SO OTHER PEOPLE WITH SIMILAR VEHICLES COULD BE NOTIFIED OF THE EXTREME HAZARD. *TR

THE VEHICLE ALSO ROLLED BACKWARD AND FORWARD WITHOUT WARNING AND THE HATCH CAME DOWN UNEXPECTEDLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE MULTIPLE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
MY AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON FOR NO OBVIOUS REASON...I HAVE NO IDEA WHETHER OR NOT IT IS A TAKATA. THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS ONLINE ABOUT THIS YEAR MAKE AND MODEL...APPARENTLY THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM? THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL BECAUSE THE MANUFACTURER NEEDS TO PAY FOR THIS.
2010 CHEVROLET EQUINOX ALL OF A SUDDEN LOST TRACTION CONTROL AND DROP SPEED TO 15 MILES PER HOUR. ERROR LIGHT CAME ON STATING "ENGINE POWER REDUCTION" AND THEN "SERVICE ". ALONG WITH THESE ERROR MESSAGES THE ICON FOR ENGINE AND STABILITRAK CAME ON AFTER CAR LOST MOST OF ITS PWLOWER AND TRACTION. IT WAS A COLD NIGHT CHRISTMAS 2016 BUT NOT AS COLD AS OTHER CITIES AS WE LIVE IN PHOENIX, AZ. THANKFULLY I WAS IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD WHEN MY [XXX] DAUGHTER AND I LOST POWER INSTEAD OF BEING ON THE FREEWAY BUT THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE WITH THESE CARS. I'VE RECENTLY READ MANY COMPLAINTS FROM EQUINOX OWNERS WHO'VE DEALT WITH THIS SAME ISSUE. THE DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS THE THROTTLE BODY AND SOLENOID VALVES AND CHARGED ME $850.00 FOR A REPAIR THAT I TRULY FEEL NEEDS TO BE UNDER A RECALL GIVEN THE SAFETY ISSUE OF LOSING POWER AND TRACTION WHILE DRIVING WITHOUT WARNING!!! *TR PARTS OF THIS DOCUMENT HAVE BEEN REDACTED TO PROTECT PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
WE WERE JUST GETTING TO THE END OF HIGHWAY ENTRY RAMP AND WE COULD NOT GAIN SPEED AND THE ENGINE REVVED UP VERY HIGH BEOFRE IT STARTED SLOWING DOWN. PUT THE CAR IN MANUAL MODE BUT COULD NOT SHIFT INTO 3RD GEAR. WE WERE FORCED INTO ENTERING THE HIGHWAY AT ROUGHLY 30MPH.

ONCE THE IGNITION WAS TURNED ON, THE NOISE WENT AWAY AND THE DEFROST/DEFOGGER SYSTEM BECAME INOPERABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. WHILE DRIVING UNKNOWN SPEEDS, THE DEFROSTER FAILED TO BLOW OUT AIR. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 61,000.
WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREETS THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE EVEN THOUGH THE RPMS WHERE CLIMBING. IT FINALLY COASTED THE REMAINING 2 BLOCKS HOME WHERE ALL GEARS EXCEPT 2ND WERE COMPLETELY GONE. THE VEHICLE WILL HAVE TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR A $4500.00 BILL TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. THIS VEHICLE HAS ALREADY HAD THE MOTOR, FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM, AND TIMING CHAIN REPLACED DUE TO THE EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION RECALL. DUE TO THE MANY COMPLAINTS I HAVE SEEN LOGGED AS WELL AS THE OPEN RECALL ON OTHER 2010 EQUINOXES AND TRAVERSES I WOULD THINK THERE WOULD BE AN OPEN RECALL ON MY VIN BUT THERE ISN'T. IT'S BEEN IN FOR MUTIPLABLE RECALLS PLUS OIL CONSUMPTION RECALL NOW RECEIVED MY CAR BACK HAD IT FOR 2 DAYS NOW SERVICE DEPARTMENT TELLING ME MY TRANSMISSION WAVE PLATE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. SERVICE DEPARTMENT HAD RETURNED MY CAR SAYING EVERYTHING WAS FINE TO DRIVE LET ME LEAVE IN IT KNOWING THEY KNEW THIS WOULD HAPPEN. VERY UPSET PLUS AM OUT AROUND $800 DOLLARS THOUGHT THESE RECALLS WERE COVERED NOPE HAD TO COME OUT OF MY POCKET. NOW THEY WANT $4374.69!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
IN 2016 THE DEFROSTER, DEFOGGER,HAVC SYSTEM STARTED TO MAKING POPPING NOISES WHICH WOULD THEN SWITCH THE HEAT TO COLD AIR. TO GET THE THE SYSTEM TO PROVIDE HEAT IN THE VEHICLE YOU HAVE TO PLAY WITH THE BUTTONS GOING BACK AN FORTH HEAT TO A/C. IF YOUR LUCKY YOU WILL GET THE HEAT BACK ON. IT ALSO AFFECTS THE ILLUMINATION OF THE DASH AND RADIO LIGHTING. IT IS A TREMENDOUS SAFETY HAZARD IN THE WINTER TO NOT HAVE HEAT FOR THE DEFROSTERS AN HEAT FOR INSIDE THE VEHICLE. IT CONTINUES TO BE A SERIOUS PROBLEM.
WHEN THE CAR IS RUNNING AND I PUT THE HEAT OR DEFROSTER ON POPPING NOISES COMING FROM CONTROL SYSTEM AND THEN IT CHANGES FROM HEAT TO COOL OR COLD AIR. I HAVE TO PLAY WITH THE SYSTEM SWITCHING BACK AN FORTH FROM A/C TO HEAT TO SOMETIMES TO GET THE HEAT BACK ON. SOMETIMES IT WILL NOT COME BACK . IT STARTED IN DECEMBER OF 2016 AN CONTINUES TILL PRESENT DATE. THE NHTSA COMPLAINT #09V49800 GM CHEVROLET IS SAYING 2010 CHEVROLET EQUINOX ARE NOT INCLUDED. BUT CAR HAS THE SAME PROBLEM AS THEIR RECALL.

STABILITRAK KEEPS TURNING ON WITH CHECK ENGINE LIGHT THE CARS POWER THEN GETS TURNED DOWN ALL THE WAY OR OFF, I HAVE TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND TURN IT BACK ON TO GET BACK TO NORMAL. VERY DANGEROUS CAR STOPPING WITH TRAFFIC ALL AROUND. NOTHING BUT HEADACHES.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN BUSY HIGHWAY IN SNOW STORM, MY WIPERS STOPPED WORKING AS I WAS DRIVING. I HAD MY SON IN THE CAR. BIG SAFETY ISSUE. I GOOGLED THIS PROBLEM ON LINE. FOUND SEVERAL PEOPLE HAD SAME PROBLEM WITH THEIR CHEVROLET EQUINOX AND NO SAFETY RECALL. THIS IS DEFINETLY A SAFETY ISSUE. WE COULD HAVE GOTTEN IN A CAR ACCIDENT WITH SNOW COMING DOWN AND NO WIPERS. CAR COMPLETELY LOST POWER ON THE HIGHWAY WHILE ENGINE RUNNING. ENGINE WENT TO IDLE. NEARLY HIT BY OTHER CARS TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY. HAD THE CAR TOWED TO MY LOCAL MECHANIC. CAR WAS THROWING CODE P2135 WHICH IS THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR. I DID SOME RESEARCH ON THIS CODE AND THERE IS A CHEVY BULLETIN REGARDING THIS EXACT CODE AND THE ENGINE GOING TO IDLE WHILE DRIVING. I'M SURPRISED THIS IS NOT A RECALL AS THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND APPEARS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE.

THE SAME LOCAL DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT. UPON ARRIVAL AT THE DEALER, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE EXISTING FAILURE AND A LETTER WAS RECEIEVED, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THEY WERE NOT SURE WHY SHE RECEIVED THE RECALL LETTER, AND CONFIRMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WOULD NOT ASSIST AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 110,000.
INTERMITTENT LOSS OF SYSTEM HEAT. BLOWER WORKS BUT BLOWS FRIGID AIR INTO CABIN AND ONTO WINDSHIELD CAUSING FROSTING AND SAFETY ISSUE. CONTROLS DO NOT WORK TO CORRECT ISSUE. ACTUATOR DOORS EITHER DON'T MOVE OR MOVE RANDOMLY. NO CHANGE IN BLOWER AIR. AIR TEMP FEELS LIKE BELOW ZERO. NO WARNING OF CHANGE FROM HOT TO COLD AIR. VEHICLE CAN BE STATIONARY, IN MOTION, HIGHWAY SPEEDS, SIDE STREET SPEEDS, TURNING, STRAIGHT, IT DOESN'T MATTER. IN GOING TO DESTINATION HEAT STOPPED AND COLD AIR BLEW. THIS HAS BEEN A RECURRING ISSUE FOR ABOUT 2 YEARS. DEALER SAYS NOT CODING OR STORING CODES. MAIN COMPUTER DOESN'T SENSE THE PROBLEM. ACTUATORS RECALIBRATED ON FRIDAY, IT REOCCURRED ON SATURDAY. THERE IS A RECALL ON THE CONTROL SYSTEM BRAIN BUT DEALER UNWILLING TO DO REPAIRS. 2010 AND 2011 WERE THE WORST YEARS FOR ISSUES IN THESE VEHICLES. MANY COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME ISSUES. DEALER SAYS THEY CAN'T FIX IT IF IT DOESN'T DISPLAY CODES ACCORDING TO MY ALMOST $4000 WARRANTY SERVICE CONTRACT. I LOVE MY EQUINOX BUT I NEED IT FIXED AND WORKING. BROUGHT IT INTO DEALER ON FRIDAY, INTAKE PERSON ACTUALLY FELT THE FRIGID AIR COMING FROM BLOWER. NO AMOUNT OF FLIPPING SWITCHES, TURNING KNOBS OR PUSHING BUTTONS CORRECT THIS ISSUE. STILL THEY DON'T FIX IT BECAUSE OF NO CODES. I SAY MAIN COMPUTER IS MALFUNCTIONING BECAUSE IT DOESN'T SENSE THE PROBLEM THEREFORE IT DOESN'T SHOW CODES. DEALER ADMITS THERE IS AN ISSUE, JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT IT IS. ON A PERSONAL NOTE, I AM A CANCER SURVIVOR AND HAVE MANY MEDICAL ISSUES, I ALSO TRANSPORT YOUNG CHILDREN IN MY VEHICLE. THIS ISSUE IS A HEALTH HAZARD TO MYSELF AND THEM.

AFTER THAT, IT WOULDN'T EVEN GO INTO NEUTRAL. THE TRANSMISSION LOCKED UP. THE DEALER CALLED TODAY AND CONFIRMED THAT IT NEEDS A NEW TRANSMISSION. *TR
