MANY 2011 EQUINOXS HAVE HAD THEIR TIMING CHAIN RECALLS. MINE IS AT 9000 MILES AND NEEDS A NEW TIMING CHAIN

THE CAR ALWAYS NEEDED OIL, AND WE DID KNOW WHY TIL THE TIMING BELT WENT AND THE ENGINE HAD TO BE REPLACED AND IT COST US OVER 2850.00 THEN WE FOUND OUT GM PUT A BAD SPRAY OILER FOR THE TIMING BELT AS FOR THE GOING THROUGH SO MUCH OIL WE ARE UNSURE. I DID HEAR OF A LAWSUIT WE JUST WOULD LIKE OUR MONEY BACK FOR THE MOTOR REPLACEMENT IT'S A VERY BAD LEMON GM ON THE 2.4 LITER ENGINE THEY MADE
The contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact heard an abnormal knocking sound with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with excessive oil consumption. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the vehicle was consuming engine oil excessively fast. The contact stated several quarts of oil were kept in the vehicle to avoid the oil becoming extremely low. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and diagnosed with excessive oil consumption and the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 110,000.
I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALER BECAUSE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER (BY SPECIAL COVERAGE ADJUSTMENT 15810), HOWEVER THE TECHNICIAN INDICATED THAT I HAD A CRACKED EXHAUST MANIFOLD... WHICH WAS NOT COVERED BY THE SPECIAL COVERAGE. IT IS CRAZY THAT AN EXHAUST MANIFOLD FAILS! IT SEEMS TO BE A DEFECTIVE PART AND THE TECHNICIAN SAID IT MAY HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY THE EXTRA PRESSURE DUE TO THE CLOGGED CATALYTIC CONVERTER. GM REFUSED TO REINBURSE THIS SERVICE.
I'VE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY TRANSMISSION SINCE FOREVER BUT NOW IT'S WORSE. THIS VEHICLE NEEDS TO HAVE AN OPEN RECALL. IT IS NOT FAIR THAT WE PURCHASE THESE VEHICLES AND HAVE TO PUT SO MUCH MONEY INTO THEM BECAUSE THEY COME FAULTY. ANYTIME I HIT MY BRAKES WITH A HEAVY FOOT MY CAR WILL STAY STUCK IN FIRST GEAR. I'VE BEEN ON THE HIGH WAY AND IN BUSY STREETS. I CAN'T GO FASTER THEN 10 MPH. I STAY STUCK AND HAVE TO LEAVE THE VEHICLE OFF FOR ABOUT 10 MINS TO GET IT TO RUN AGAIN. IT'S CONSTANTLY SHUTTERING AS WELL. THIS IS RIDICULOUS THAT EVERYONE HAS THE SAME COMPLAINTS. SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE.
2011 EQUINOX HAS EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION AND IS GETTING WORSE. THIS VEHICLE HAS A RECALL THAT IS VAGUE WHICH IS TO SAY IT IS A POPULAR ISSUE WITH NO DIRECT RESOLUTION.
ENGINE FAILURE DUE TO EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION. TIMING CHAIN FAILURE CAUSING MAJOR DAMAGE TO ENGINE, FUEL PUMP FAILURE, CATALYTIC CONVERTER FAILURE DUE TO EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION .
MY TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN REPLACED 3 DIFFERENT TIMES. HAVE HAD MY VIECHLE FOR ALMOST 2 YEARS AND MY TRANSMISSION IS MESSED UP AGAIN OIL IS BURNING AND THEY CAR SHOPS HAVE NO IDEA WHERE ITS GOING. JERKING CAR WHEN FOOT IS ON BREAK WHIRRING NOISE WHEN ACCELERATE OR TURNING
VEHICLE BEGAN EXPERIENCING ROUGH IDLE, POOR DRIVEABILITY, AND ALSO STALLED AT LOW THROTTLE OPENING WHILE LEAVING A PARKING LOT. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WITH CODE P0010
WHILE DRIVING IN RAIN, IN THE LEFT LANE WHILE PASSING A TRUCK AT 65-70MPH, IN THE DARK, THE DRIVER SIDE WIPER ARM CLICKED A FEW TIMES AGAINST THE A-PILLAR THEN CEASED WORKING. FORTUNATELY THE PASSENGER SIDE WIPER CONTINUED TO FUNCTION.
ENGINE TYPE CONSUMES EXCESS OIL. THIS HAS CAUSED MY OIL TO RUN OUT ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS AND MY VEHICLE TO SHUT OFF WHILE I'M DRIVING, SPECIFICALLY WHEN DECELERATING THE RPMS WILL DROP TO CAUSE ENGINE TO FAIL. DRIVING WITH NO OIL WILL CAUSE THE ENGINE TO BLOW UP ONE DAY OR ANOTHER.
EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION, OIL ENGINE LIGHT DOES NOT ALERT WHEN OIL IS LOW. JUST CHECKED OIL DIPSTICK IS BARE AND I HAVE 3000 MILES TO GO BEFORE NEXT OIL CHANGE. LOW OIL ALERT DOES NOT ALERT TO THE ISSUE THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE SINCE OCTOBER 2020. IT WAS ONLY BY CHANCE THAT THIS WAS FOUND, NO WARNING SIGNS THAT THE VEHICLE WAS LOW ON OIL. LAST OIL CHANGE TOOM TO DEALERSHIP FOR OIL CHANGE AND IT WAS STATED THE OIL LEVEL DIDN'T REGISTER ON DIPSTICK.
IT BURNING SO MUCH ENGINE OIL AND RUNNING OUT FROM OIL FOR UNDER 900 MILES AND CAR IS UNDER 120000
MY IGNITION WAS GETTING JAMMED AND STUCK WHEN TURNING THE TRUCK ON. WHILE DRIVING I FELT SOMETHING LOSING POWER MY GEARS FELT REALLY SLOW
I WAS HEADING INTO WORK ON A WEDNESDAY. EXITING THE HIGHWAY THERE WAS A MASSIVE SHUTTER IN TRANSMISSION AS IT DOWNSHIFTED ON THE EXIT RAMP.TURNING ON TO A BUSY STREET, U.S.36, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHUTTER AS IT WAS SHIFTING INTO THE NEXT GEAR. BY THAT TIME I NEEDED TO SLOW DOWN FOR A STOP LIGHT. AS I BEGAN TO INCREASE IN SPEED THE TRANSMISSION SHUTTERED VIOLENTLY. THEN THE TACHOMETER WAS PEGGED AND REDLINING AND WAS NOT GAINING SPEED. WITH A MASSIVE AMOUNT OF TRAFFIC PILING UP ON ME AND NOWHERE TO GO, I TURNED ON THE FLASHERS. I BEGAN COASTING BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION WAS NOT FUNCTIONAL. ENGINE RUNNING FINE WITH NO ACCELERATION.THERE I WAS DEAD IN THE ROADWAY WAITING TO BE REAR ENDED..AFTER THE TRAFFIC EASED UP. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND TRIED TO DRIVE AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WOULD ONLY GO ABOUT 10MPH AND THEN STOP PROPELLING ME FORWARD. COASTING TO ANOTHER STOP. PUTTING INTO PARK AGAIN AND THEN BACK INTO DRIVE. AGAIN ONLY GETTING UP TO ABOUT 10MPH BEFORE TRANSMISSION WOULD STOP MOVING FORWARD. I DID THIS NUMEROUS TIMES BEFORE I COULD FIND A SAFE LOCATION TO PULL INTO. THIS EPISODE ENDED IN A $3400 TRANSMISSION REPAIR. THE MASTER MECHANIC SAYS HE SEES THIS SO MANY TIMES WITH VEHICLE. I FIND THIS TO BE UNACCEPTABLE FOR AN AUTO MANUFACTURE TO PRODUCE SUCH AN INFERIOR PRODUCT THAT UNTIMELY PUTS THE PUBLIC SAFETY IN JEOPARDY.
MY EQUINOX LTZ 2011 KEEP SHUTTING OFF WITHOUT A WARNING WHEN I'M BACKING UP ON A RED LIGHT OR A STOP NO ONE HAS BEEN ABLE TO FIND ANYTHING BECAUSE IT DOESN'T SHOW BUT IT KEEP DOING IT.

THE DRIVER'S SIDE WIPER BLADE WAS BENT OVER THE DRIVER'S SIDE MIRROR AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO VEER OFF THE ROAD INTO A GRASSY AREA AT THE APARTMENT COMPLEX. THERE WAS NO CRASH REPORTED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CALLED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THE VIN. THE CONTACT WAS TOLD THAT SHE WOULD BE CALLED BACK IN TWO OR THREE DAYS. THE CONTACT REFERENCED AN UNKNOWN NHTSA INVESTIGATION ABOUT WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR TRANSMISSION FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 136,000.
CATALYTIC CONVERTER ISSUE, HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP, CAR SHAKES, BALKING WHILE ON IDLE OR STOP ON RED LIGHT, HEAVY CHAIN ROLLING NOISE. SPENT MORE THAN $3K SO FAR BUT STILL COMES WITH DIFFERENT PROBLEMS EVERY NOW AND THEN. ENGINE LIGHT IS ALWAYS ON AND BUNCH OF DIFFERENT CODES SHOW UP WHILE CHECKING. CRUISE CONTROL DOESN'T WORK. WIPER BLADES DON'T CLEAR PROPERLY. PROBLEM LIST CAN GO ON AND ON. CAR SHUTS OFF BY ITSELF AND IT HAPPENED SO MANY TIMES. ENGINE POWER WAS REDUCED BY ITSELF AND COULDN'T GO MORE THAN 20 MILES/HOUR ON A HIGHWAY WITH FAMILY INSIDE THE CAR.
I HAD GOTTEN AN OIL CHANGE ON SEPTEMBER 4TH 2020. A FEW DAYS LATER I DROVE TO GEORGIA TO PICK UP MY BOYFRIEND THE DAY WE GOT BACK WE STOOD HOME THE ENTIRE DAY THE FOLLOWING DAY I WENT TO GO TURN ON MY CAR AND GO SOMEWHERE THE CAR TURNED ON AND THEN IT IS IMMEDIATELY TURNED BACK OFF MY CAR HAS NOT TURNED ON SINCE THEN AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT'S WRONG WITH IT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS FAILED WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS TRANSMISSION FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE WARRANTY WAS EXTENDED HOWEVER, THE MILEAGE WAS EXCEEDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 164,000.
DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY DURING HIGH DOWNPOUR. WIPERS REACHED THE END OF THE SEQUENCE AND STOPPED. HAD TO PULL OVER IN POURING RAIN AND HIGH TRAFFIC, CAUSING MAJOR CONCERN AND A MAJOR SAFETY EVENT.
MY ENGINE WAS MAKING NOISE SO I TOOK IT TO THE SHOP. THEY SAID A BOLT BROKE BY THE TIMING CHAIN. THEN THEY SAID IT MESSED UP THE BLOCK AND THE ENGINE NEEDS REPLACED. I WOULD START UP MY CAR AND I HEAD A RATTLING NOISE LIKE SOMETHING WAS LOOSE. I WOULD HEAR THE VIBRATION NOISE

DRIVING IN POURING DOWN RAIN AND WINDSHIELD WIPERS STOPPED WORKING. HIGH SAFETY CONCERN.
I WAS DRIVING ON OUR CITIES BYPASS AND ALL OF A SUDDEN MY CAR BEGAN TO JERK AND NOT WANT TO ACCELERATE. AFTER GETTING TO A PLACE THAT I COULD SAFELY PULL OVER, I PLACED THE CAR IN PARK AND LISTENED. THE CAR SEEMED TO BE RUNNING FINE. I THOUGHT MAY BE IT WAS BAD GAS BUT I WAS ON A HALF TANK AND HAD BEEN DRIVING WITH THE SAME GAS FOR ALMOST A WEEK WITH NO ISSUES. I TRIED TO DRIVE HOME AND WHEN I PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE AND WENT TO PRESS THE GAS, NOTHING HAPPENED. THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. I COULD HEAR ACCELERATION, BUT THE CAR DID NOT BUDGE. I PUT IT IN REVERSE AND THE SAME THING OCCURRED. I AM READING THAT TRANSMISSION FAILURE HAS BEEN A PROBLEM WITH MANY 2011 CHEVY EQUINOX OWNERS. I HAVE A LITTLE UNDER 124,000 MILES. ITS TOO MANY PEOPLE WITH THIS SAME ISSUE FOR IT NOT TO BE RECALLED BY GM. THIS IS NOT A INEXPENSIVE FIX AND IS NOT FAIR TO CONSUMERS.
1) SEATBELT LIGHT COMES ON DESPITE HAVING SEATBELTS SECURED. IT HAPPENS WHEN YOU START THE CAR AND STAYS ON THROUGHOUT ALL ASPECTS OF DRIVING UNTIL THE CAR IS TURNED OFF. 2) SERVICE STABILITRAC LIGHT INTERMITTENTLY FLICKERS ON AND OFF WHILE THE RADIO FLICKERS OFF AND ON, AS THOUGH THE VEHICLE WERE POSSESSED. 3) THE PREVIOUS ENGINE CONSUMED EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS OF OIL. IT RESULTED IN THE PREVIOUS ENGINE BEING REPLACED A FEW MONTHS AGO. NEW ENGINE IS BURNING OIL JUST AS FAST AS THE OLD ONE. WITHING ONE MONTH THE DIPSTICK WAS REGISTERING AS BELOW THE BOTTOM LINE WITH 2 MONTHS AND APPROXIMATELY 3K MILES LEFT BEFORE NEXT SCHEDULED OIL CHANGE, PER JIFFY LUBE'S STICKER.
I DROVE HOME AND PARKED MY CAR. WHEN TO STARTED MY CAR THE FOLLOWING MORNING AND PUT IT IN DRIVE. MY CAR WOULD NOT MOVE FORWARD ONLY BACKWARDS. I HAD KNOW IDEA THAT MY TRANSMISSION WAS GOING. I WENT TO THE CHEVY DEALER MANY TIMES EARLIER FOR OIL CONSUMPTION AND MY THE SOUND OF MY TRANSMISSION AND THEY SAID THAT THE JUST SOUND OF THE CAR. IF THEY HAD BEEN HONEST AND TOLD ME THE TRUTH I COULD HAVE GOTTEN MY TRANSMISSION FIXED MANY YEARS EARLIER. THANKFULLY MY OIL CONSUMPTION WAS FIXED ONLY BECAUSE I CALLED CORPORATE AND PUSHED THE ISSUE. I BELIEVED THE DEALER WHEN HE TOLD ME ALL THE EQUINOX SOUND LIKE THAT. NOW I HAVE TO PAY OVER $3000.00 FOR THAT LIE. MY CAR IS BEING FIXED BY HOBBY'S TRANSMISSION IN HICKSVILLE, NY AS WE SPEAK. MY CAR IS A LEMON. CORPORATE TOLD ME THAT MY CARE WAS IN THE BATCH OF CARS THAT HAVE OIL CONSUMPTION. I WILL BE CALLING THEM ABOUT MY TRANSMISSION ON MONDAY, 6/22/20. *TR

POWER STEERING INTERMITTENTLY STOPS WORKING . IT DID IT TO MY WIFE ON 6/8/20 IN THE RAIN .IT DID IT TO ME 6/9/20. IT WAS DRY. IT HAS DONE THIS SEVERAL TIMES TO ME . MY EQUINOX SUFFERS FROM THE OIL CONSUMPTION DEFECT WHICH CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO CONSUME OIL AT AN USUALLY HIGH RATE. ALTHOUGH SEVERAL FEATURES OF THE VEHICLES' ENGINES CONTRIBUTE TO THE OIL CONSUMPTION DEFECT, THE PRIMARY CAUSE IS FAULTY PISTON RINGS. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE VEHICLES AND THEIR WAS EVEN A LAWSUIT THAT WAS RECENTLY SETTLED. I HOWEVER DO NOT QUALIFY FOR THE FREE REPAIR BECAUSE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE LATER MAY 16, 2019. I BELIEVE THIS PROBLEM SHOULD BE A RECALL SINCE GM IS AWARE OF THE FAULTY ENGINEERING THAT WENT INTO THE MANUFACTURING OF THIS VEHICLE.

VEHICLE HAS ABOUT 109,000 MILES AND SUDDENLY, THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING. I FIGURED OUT THAT IT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IN REVERSE ONLY, SO I MOVED IT TO A SAFE LOCATION. I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED INTO THE DEALER (OUT OF WARRANTY) AND IT WAS DETERMINED THAT SINCE IT WAS A CLOSED SYSTEM THAT THERE WERE A FEW OPTIONS. IN THE END, I WENT TO REPLACE WITH A NEW TRANSMISSION AND HAVE THE WARRANTIES...THE COST WAS ABOUT $2000 FOR MINIMAL WARRANTIES OR OVER $5000 FOR FULL WARRANTY. I FELT THAT WHEN I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE BRAND NEW WITH 5 MILES ON IT THAT IT WOULD LAST LONGER THAN IT DID. I REALLY HAVE HAD NO UNHANDLED PROBLEMS WITH THE DEALER OR GM IN GENERAL, BUT FEEL THAT TO HAVE NO WARNING, LIGHTS, FLUID CONCERNS OR ANYTHING OCCUR TO GIVE ME WARNING THAT THIS IS HOGWASH...I HAVE KEPT UP MY MAINTENANCE, OIL AND FLUID PER GUIDELINES AND AS STATED...DO NOT FEEL THAT THIS SHOULD HAVE OCCURRED WITHOUT ANY WARNING! *TR
WHILE DRIVING IN HEAVY RAIN ON A HIGHWAY MY FRONT WINDSHIELD WIPERS SIMPLY STOPPED FUNCTIONING IN THE UP POSITION CAUSING AN INABILITY TO SEE WHERE I WAS GOING. CAR KEEPS DYING WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS, STOP SIGNS, STOP LIGHTS ECT. IDLES VERY ROUGHY, AND IS VERY LOUD. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON.
THIS CAR IS INTERNALLY BURNING EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS OF OIL IN BETWEEN OIL CHANGES. I HAVE NO EXTERNAL OIL LEAKS. I AM ADDED AT MINIMUM 5 QUARTS BETWEEN OIL CHANGES, OTHER PARTS ARE BEGINNING TO FOUL BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUES, THE OIL LIGHT DOES NOT EVEN COME ON TO LET ME KNOW IF IT LOW ON OIL. I AM A WINDOWED WOMAN AND THIS IS NOT RIGHT. THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AN I STOPPED. TRIED GIVING IT GAS AN RPMS JUST WENT UP. I WAS ABLE TO GET IT IN 1ST GEAR AN GO ABOUT 20MPH FOR ABOUT 2 MILES AN THEN LOST ALL GEARS. IT IS AT THE SHOP NOW AN I JUST GOT THE DIAGNOSIS. NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION. I BELIEVE IT IS TIME FOR GM TO TAKE ALL OF THIS SERIOUSLY AN FIX THE PROBLEM THERE ARE TO MANY COMPLAINTS FOR THE SAME THING WITH NOTHING BEING DONE. I CANT AFFORD THIS AN MOST PEOPLE CAN'T BUT YET WE ARE FORCED TO PAY FOR IT. AFTER 100S OF THE SAME ISSUE IT CANT BE THE OPERATOR ERROR IT HAS TO BE THE MANUFACTURE ITS SELF
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR JUST SHUT OFF IN MIDDLE OF ROAD WITHOUT WARNING. IT WOULD NOT RESTART AND HAD TO PUSH IT OFF THE STREET AS TO NOT GET HIT.
WITH NO WARNING, THE CAR JUST STOPPED. I HAD NO REVERSE OR FORWARD. I WAS IN MOTION ON THE HIGHWAY AND YOU COULD TELL IT WAS HESITATING. WENT A FEW MORE MILES AND THANKFULLY MADE IT TO A PARKING LOT. WHEN MY HUSBAND ARRIVED, THE CAR WOULD JUST REV. WE HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED. THE CAR HAS UNDER 80,000 MILES ON IT AND THE TRANSMISSION GOES? THIS IS JUST RIDICULOUS THAT CHEVY IS RIPPING PEOPLE OFF WITH THESE CARS! I HAVE READ SOO MANY COMPLAINTS WITH THIS HAPPENING TO THE 2011 EQUINOX AND THERE IS NOT SOMETHING FISHY OR RECALLS ON THIS? YOU PAY ALOT OF MONEY FOR VEHICLES AND THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN TO A CAR THAT HAS BEEN BABIED, TAKEN CARE OF! I WOULD NEVER BUY ANOTHER CHEVY AGAIN!! WHEN IS THIS GOING TO BE RECALLED??????? AFTER HOW MANY COMPLAINTS AND CARS DOES IT TAKE TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM???
Sometimes the past 2 half years the power steering goes out, a few years ago i took it to a dealer they did not find anything but its dangerous. I just seen on like that you all have a recall for it but its not showing on my VIN number,
THIS VEHICLE IS UNSAFE! I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD IN MY CITY AND IT CUT OFF SEVERAL TIMES WHEN I WAS SLOWING DOWN APPROACHING A STOP LIGHT CAUSING SOMEONE TO ALMOST HIT ME! I HAVE HAD SO MANY ISSUES SINCE I BOUGHT THIS CAR(WISH I NEVER WOULD HAVE) I HAD TO REPLACE MY TRANSMISSION AT 102,000 MILES, I HAVE TO PUT 2-3 QUARTS OF OIL IN MY CAR EVERY 2 WEEKS, AND NOW IT IS CUTTING OFF WHILE I AM DRIVING! THESE VEHICLES NEED TO BE RECALLED AND NEVER MADE AGAIN!!!
2 DAYS AGO (2/26/2020) NOTICED 2 "JUMPS" AS REVERSING AND AGAIN YESTERDAY. THIS MORNING, BARELY WAS ABLE TO GET CAR REVERSED OUT OF DRIVEWAY. IT FELT AS IF REVERSE GEAR WAS "SLIPPING". AFTER WORK, REVERSE GEAR TOTALLY USELESS, HAD TO PUSH CAR OUT OF PARKING SPACE AT WORK AND ALL FORWARD GEARS WERE "SLIPPING" AND UNABLE TO ACCELERATE VEHICLE. TOWED CAR MECHANIC WHO SAID, "YOUR TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REBUILT OR REPLACED " AND "THESE CARS ARE KNOWN FOR TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS AND CATALYTIC CONVERTER PROBLEMS". HE SAYS REPAIR WILL BE AT LEAST $2500 AND MAYBE AS HIGH AS $4,000.
IT STARTED MAKING A LOUD NOISE LIKE A DIESEL ENGINE AND IT WILL JUST CUT OFF FOR NO REASON. I KEEP UP ALL MY MAINTENANCE IT HAS LOW MILEAGE. IT WAS IN MOTION WHEN IT CUT OFF AND I ALMOST HIT AN 18 WHEELER.
VEHICLE WON'T REVERSE, RPM SURGING DURING ACCELERATION CAUSING HARD SHIFTING/JERKING OR NO SHIFT AT ALL. GOOGLING THE ISSUES BROUGHT UP MANY OTHER 2011 EQUINOX'S WITH SAME ISSUES.
I HEARD A POP AND THEN MY WIPERS STOPPED WORKING WHILE I WAS DRIVING AT NIGHT COMPLETELY IN THE RAIN. I COULD HEAR THE MOTOR BUT THE WIPERS WOULDN'T MOVE. I HAD NO VISABILITY WHATSOEVER. I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY.
BURNS OIL EXCESSIVELY, 1 QUART PER 10 DAYS. NO LEAKS . COSTLY REPAIRS, AND MAINTENANCE
THIS SHOULD CLEARLY BE A RECALL BASED ON ALL THE POSTE EVERYONE IS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. ALL MY LIGHTS COME ON STABILITRACK, ABS, CHECK ENGINE, STEERING FLUID. TWICE IN ONE YEAR THE TIMING CHAIN GUIDES BROKE CAUSING MOTOR DAMAGE AND THE CAR TO STALL WHILE DRIVING ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY ALMOST CAUSING A MAJOR ACCIDENT BOTH TIMES.
