VEHICLE LOUDLY IDLES WHEN STARTING. WHEN STOPPED VEHICLE IDLES IN A JUMPING MOTION.
I WAS DRIVING AND NEEDED TO TURN MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKED IN PLACE, I WAS UNABLE TO TURN THE WHEEL AND ALMOST RUN INTO A BRICK WALL. I RECEIVED A LETTER IN THE MAIL FROM GM ABOUT TWO WEEKS AFTER THE INCIDENCE THAT STATED THE STEERING WILL LOCK IN PLACE. I CONTACTED GM ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT THERE IS NOT ANYTHING THAT THEY CAN DO TO ASSIST ME WITH THIS ISSUE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO TURN AND THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND DRIVEN TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,000..UPDATED 09/ 30/14 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED WHILE MAKING A RIGHT TURN, THE STEERING WHEEL SEEMED TO BREAK FREE AND CONTINUED MOVING ABOUT TWO INCHES. AT THE SAME TIME, THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF, THE LIGHTS WENT OUT. THE CONSUMER HAD TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. WHEN HE FINALLY STOPPED, HE WAS ABLE TO MOVE THE GEAR SHIFT FROM DRIVE TO PARK AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO FIND A PROBLEM. UPDATED 10/08/14

THE CONTACT RECEIVED A NOTIFICATION FOR RECALL NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 14V447000 (SEATS) AND INDICATED THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED FOR SEVERAL MONTHS AND THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO PROVIDE NEITHER AN INTERIM FIX NOR A REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE RECALL REPAIR WOULD BE PERFORMED. THE CONTACT WAS NOT ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE DUE TO A BOLT POTENTIALLY FRACTURING IF THE SEAT WAS MOVED OR ADJUSTED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT EXPERIENCE THE FAILURE.
THE PASSENGER SEAT GOT WET AND THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG WOULD NOT TURN OFF. IT TOOK 3 DAYS FOR THE SEAT TO DRY OUT BEFORE THE AIR BAG WOULD TURN OFF WHEN THE SEAT WAS UNOCCUPIED. THE SENSOR SHOULD BE WATER PROOF IF A CHILD WERE TO WET THEIR PANTS AS IN THIS INCIDENT. *TR
REPLACE ENGINE AT 54,204 MILES AND HAD 11 OIL CHANGES. WAS TOLD I DIDN'T CHANGE OIL ENOUGH OR CHECKED LEVELS AT EVERY FUEL FILLUP. ALSO WAS TOLD NOTICE WAS SENT OUT THAT COMPUTER NEEDED TO BE RESET TO ALERT FOR MORE FREQUENT OIL CHANGES, WHICH WAS DONE AT TIME ON ENGINE REPLACEMENT. LETTER WAS SENT TO ME LAST MONTH STATING I MAY BE DUE REIMBURSEMENT BUT AFTER I DROPPED OF ALL PAPERWORK AT DEALERSHIP WHERE CAR WAS BOUGHT LAST MONTH, I CHECKED LAST WEEK AND THEY CAN'T FIND PAPERWORK AND NOBODY HAS CALLED BACK TO TELL ME WHAT TO DO NEXT. TOTAL INCOMPETENCY BY THE DEALER AS THEY TOLD ME THAT MY VEHICLE WASN'T EVEN REGISTERED AS BEING BOUGHT AT THIS DEALER.
CAR STALLED WHILE DRIVING DOWN HIGHWAY AND HAD TO PULL OFF TO THE SIDE. IT STARTED LAST WEEK DYING WHEN I WAS BACKING UP. IT ALSO WOULD JERK WHEN AT A STOP LIGHT WHEN I PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL. BUT TODAY DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD I NOTICE MY AIR CONDITIONER QUIT AND THEN REALIZED MY CAR WAS NO LONGER GOING WHEN PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL. AFTER IMPEDING TRAFFIC I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO COAX CAR OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. *TR
WHEN THE ENGINE WAS TURNED ON, THE AIRCONDITIONER WAS NOT WORKING AND THE RADIO IS STUCKED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL NOISE AND THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS FAILED TO OPERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE CONTACT BECAME LOCKED IN THE VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS INDICATING A FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS EVENTUALLY ABLE TO EXIT THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED OR DIAGNOSED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,303.
VEHICLE WILL ACCELERATE UNEXPECTEDLY OR SPUTTER OR PAUSE BEFORE ACCELERATING. VEHICLE HAS STALLED OUT SEVERAL TIMES. RADIO PRESET STATION ZEROS OUT OR RADIO STATION RANDOMLY CHANGES. CLOCK DOES NOT WORK ON A REGULAR BASIS. KEY FOB LOCKS AND DOOR OPENER RANDOMLY STOPS WORKING UNTIL KEY FOB IS PUT INTO THE IGNITION. WARNING LIGHTS ON DASH COME ON RANDOMLY, MOSTLY ON WASHER FLUID AND TIRE PRESSURE. *TR
I WENT TO SLOW DOWN MY VEHICLE TO EXIT OFF OF FREEWAY. UPON TOUCHING THE BRAKE, THE CARE ACCELERATED AND STCU UNTIL I HIT THE BRAKE. I PHONED GM VIA ONSTAR AS THIS SCARED ME. I THOUGHT IT WAS A FLUKE HOWEVER I STILL WANTED IT DOCUMENTED. THIS PAST WEEK, JULY 28TH 2014, I ONCE AGAIN WAS TRAVELING AND WENT TO SLOW DOWN TO TAKE OFF CRUISE CONTROL AND MY RPM'S JUMPED AND STUCK AT 6-7. I COULD FEEL AND HEAR THEM ENGINE AS THE ACCELERATION APPEARED TO BE STUCK (AGAIN) THIS IS VERY CONCERNING HAPPENING TWICE NOW, BOTH OF WHICH I BELIEVE HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL AS BOTH INCIDENTS I HAD CRUISE CONTROL SET AND BRAKING TO SLOW DOWN. NOT HARD BRAKES, GENTLE. LAST SUMMER OF 2013, I HAD A REAR RIGHT TIRE BLOW OUT GOING OVER 70 MILES AN HOUR ON THE HIGHWAY. I DID NOT KNOW UNTIL NOW THERE WAS A RECALL. I PHONED (PUSHED BUTTON) ONSTAR AFTER THE INCIDENT AS A TOW TRUCK HAD TO COME AND TAKE TO THE DEALERSHIP. I HAD TO REPLACE ALL 4 TIRES ON MY THAN YEAR OLD VEHICLE APPROX. 29000 MILES ON IT. I HAD ADVISED ONSTAR I HAD NO WARNING AND WANTED TO KNOW WHY THE SYSTEM DID NOT ALERT EM BUT NO ONE HAD AN ANSWER. ALSO, WHEN I FIRST PURCHASED MY EQUINOX IN JULY 2012, THE CAR HAD A KNOCK AND I REPORTED IT. CAN YOU PLEASE HELP ME. ON THIS LAST INCIDENT LAST WEEK WITH THE ACCELERATOR STICKING, I PUSHED MY ONSTAR BUTTON ADVISING THEM WHAT HAD HAPPENED AND TO PLEASE TRANSFER ME TO GM CARE SO I COULD LET THEM KNOW, HOWEVER, AFTER REMAINING ON HOLD FOR TO LONG I HUNG UP. IN JULY OF THIS YEAR, IT WAS A 100 DEGREE DAY IN CHARLESTON, AND MY WIFE HAD OUR 2 YEARS OLD DAUGHTER IN HER CAR SEAT. MY WIFE HAD THE AIRCONDITIONING ON, AND THE CAR RUNNING, AND SHE CHECKED THE MAIL, FOR SOME REASON, THE LOCKS ON THE DOORS ENGAGED, AND MY DAUGHTER WAS LOCKED IN THE CAR. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE DEALER, AND I BROUGHT THE CAR IN FOR SERVICE. THEY HAD MY VEHICLE FOR OVER A WEEK. THEY RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO ME AND INFORMED ME THAT THEY HAD REDONE ALL THE WIRING AND THAT IT SHOULD ALL BE FIXED, AND IT WOULDN'T HAPPEN AGAIN. THEN AS FATE WOULD HAVE IT, OUR REAR VIEW CAMERA STARTED GOING IN AND OUT RANDOMLY, BUT WE DIDN'T THINK ANYTHING OF IT, THEN SURE ENOUGH, ONCE AGAIN IN SEPTEMBER, I HAD MY DAUGHTER OUT TO LUNCH, I PLACED HER IN HER SEAT, STRAPPED HER IN, AND LAID THE KEYS DOWN NEXT TO HER, THE DOORS WERE ALL UNLOCKED, I CLOSED THE BACK DOOR, WENT TO OPEN THE FRONT DOOR, AND THE LOCKS ENGAGED ONCE AGAIN. THIS TIME THE AC WAS NOT RUNNING. MY WIFE HAD A KEY BUT WAS ABOUT 45 MIN AWAY. THIS TIME, THE BABY WAS IN THERE FOR OVER HALF AN HOUR, AND WAS A HYSTERICAL MESS. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE DEALER AGAIN, OBVIOUSLY MUCH MORE UPSET THIS TIME, AND ASKED THEM TO EXPLAIN WHAT WAS GOING ON. THEY HAD NO ANSWER AND ASKED ME TO BRING IT IN AGAIN. I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE IN, THEY HAD IT FOR OVER 2 WEEKS AND INFORMED ME THAT THEY HAD RESET EVERYTHING TO FACTORY SPECS, AND GIVEN ME 2 NEW KEY FOBS, AS THEY THOUGHT THE FOBS MAY HAVE BEEN CAUSING THE ISSUE. I GOT THE CAR BACK AND WITHIN AN HOUR, OF GETTING THE CAR BACK, THE CAMERA WENT OUT ON THE DASHBOARD.I CALLED THE SALES MANAGER AGAIN, AND HE CAME AND PICKED THE VEHICLE UP. THE ONLY THING WE HAVE BEEN TOLD AND I QUOTE IS "WE ARE CHASING A GREMLIN IN THE WIRING SYSTEM", THEY CANT FIGURE OUT WHAT IT IS, THEY WANT TO PUT ME IN A NEW 2015. GM CORPORATE CANNOT OFFER ANY RESOLUTION OUTSIDE OF A NEW KEY FOB. *TR
AS A WAS DRIVING INTO PARKING LOT, MY ENGINE SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. I HAD TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND RESTART THE VEHICLE. AFTER PUTTING THE VEHICLE BACK INTO DRIVE, THE VEHICLE STALLED AGAIN. I ENDED UP HAVING TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED SINCE IT WAS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. *TR
DRIVING SLOWLY THE ENGINE AND ENTIRE ELECTRIC SYSTEM SHUTS DOWN AND THE CAR JUST TURNS OFF WHILE DRIVING. THEN YOU HAVE TO PUT IT IN PARK AND START THE CAR BACK UP AND THEN IT HAPPENS AGAIN. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. WHILE HAULING THE VEHICLE WITH A ROAD MASTER ALL TERRAIN TOW BAR, THE VEHICLE WOBBLED OUT OF CONTROL. THE VEHICLE WOBBLED AT ANY SPEED. THE CONTACT HAD THE ROAD MASTER ALL TERRAIN TOW BAR INSPECTED AT AN UNKNOWN AUTHORIZED ROAD MASTER LOCATION AND THE VEHICLE'S FRONT END WAS ALSO ALIGNED AT AN UNKNOWN AUTHORIZED DEALER. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TOW BAR WAS NOT DEFECTIVE AND THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE'S ALIGNMENT. THE CONTACT BELIEVED THAT THE WOBBLING WAS BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS A FOUR CYLINDER AND CAUSED THE POWER STEERING TO BE UNSTABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 54,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE BRAKES FAILED TO RESPOND. ADDITIONALLY, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED INDEPENDENTLY CAUSING THE CONTACT TO APPLY FORCE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, WHO WAS UNABLE TO REPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 19,600.
AS I WAS SLOWING DOWN GETTING READY TO COME TO A STOP AT ABOUT 10/15 MPH, I PRESSED MY BRAKES AND THEY FELT HARD. I COULD NOT PRESS DOWN SO I CONTINUED TO TRY, WHEN THEY VIBRATED AND COULD NOT STOP, I CRASHED INTO THE PERSON AT THE RED LIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. *TR
DRIVING BACK FROM EL PASO I FELT A SMALL VIBRATION 1/4 OF THE WAY ON A TRIP BACK FROM EL PASO TO PHX. THE VIBRATION BECAME STRONGER THE FARTHER I WENT. I CHECKED AND THE LEFT REAR TIRE WAS SEPARATED. THIS WAS THE SECOND TIRE THAT HAS SEPARATED IN A TWO WEEK PERIOD. THE PREVIOUS WAS REPLACED BY THE DEALERSHIP. *TR
I BELIEVE THAT MY CAR HAS ON AT LEAST 4 OCCASIONS DONE THE SAME THING THAT THEY ARE RECALLING ALL OTHER GM CARS FOR. FIRST TIME IT TOTALLY SHUT DOWN WHILE I WAS DRIVING. ON SUBSEQUENT INCIDENCES IT WAS AS I PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE BEFORE BACKING UP. THIS ALSO HAPPENED ONCE WHEN MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS NO AIR COMING FORM THE BASE OF THE WINDSHIELD, WHICH CAUSED THE DEFROSTER TO FAIL. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 09V489000 (VISIBILITY). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. EVERY TIME A SMALL ROCK HITS MY WINDSHIELD IT CRACKS OR CHIPS. SMALL SAND OR GRAVEL EVEN PUTS CHIPS IN THE WINDSHIELD. CHEVY HAS A HISTORY OF USING INCORRECT PRIMER, SO I AM WONDERING IF IT IS STILL AN ISSUE. I CAN VISIBLY SEE OVER 10 CHIPS IN MY WINDSHIELD. *TR
THE 2012 CHEVY EQUINOX STALL CONSTANTLY BELOW 30 MPH. IT STALLS AT LEAST 2 TO 3 TIMES TRYING TO BACK OUT OF GARAGE TO MOVE IT 10 FEET. THE IDLE STARTS OFF SMOOTH BUT WITHIN 10 SECONDS THE EQUINOX STARTS IDLING ROUGH AND JERKING, THEN IT STALLS. WHEN STOPPED AT STOP LIGHT THE EQUINOX JERKS BACK AND FORTH, WHEN I GIVE IT GAS TO GO, THE EQUINOX JERKS FORWARD AND USUALLY DIES ON ME. IT BURNS A LARGE AMOUNT OF GAS AND OIL, I HAVE TO REFILL THE OIL UP AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK.I HAVE CHANGED THE OIL MYSELF AND FOUND THE OIL IS SATURATED WITH METAL FILINGS. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND OFF REPEATEDLY. I HAVE ALREADY REPLACED THE BATTERY TWICE BECAUSE OF A DEAD CELL. I HAVE REPLACED THE FRONT RIGHT TIRE DUE TO A BLOW-OUT AT 24,000 MILES AND DEALERSHIP REFUSED TO REPLACE IT, SAYING I HIT SOMETHING AND IT COULD NOT HAVE BLOWN OUT. THE ENTIRE NAVIGATION SYSTEM IN OUT AND THE LIGHTS FLICKER IN THE CUP HOLDERS. THE TIRE PRESSURE SENSORS WHEN OUT FOR AT LEAST 5 DAYS AND IT STARTED WORKING AGAIN WITH NO REPAIR OF THE SYSTEM. THIS IS NOT A SAFE VEHICLE TO DRIVE CONSIDERING, I DON'T KNOW WHEN IT IS GOING TO STALL DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. A RECALL IS MANDATORY FOR FULL REPLACEMENT!!!! *TR
I FILED A DIFFERENT REPORT EARLIER FOR THE SAME VEHICLE. NOW THE VEHICLE IS STARTING ON ITS OWN, IF THE KEY IS LEFT IN THE IGNITION WHEN YOU TURN IT OFF, ABOUT 30 SECONDS TO 1 MINUTE LATER THE CAR WILL START WITH NO ONE BEHIND THE WHEEL. IT WILL CONTINUE TO TRY TO START UNTIL YOU PULL THE KEY OUT. IT IS JUST THE KEY IN THE IGNITION, NO KEY CHAIN HANGING FROM IT. LAST WEEK APR 29,2014 THE CAR STARTED AND RAN FOR 10 SECOND WITH THE IGNITION OFF. HOW LONG BEFORE THE VEHICLE JUMPS INTO GEAR AND RUNS SOMEONE OVER WITH NO ONE BEHIND THE WHEEL? I FOUND OUT THAT THIS WEBSITE DOES NOT INVESTIGATE ANY REPORT UNLESS YOU PAY $50.00 PLUS, WHATEVER ELSE THEY WANT FOR IT. *TR
THE ABS LIGHTS TURN ON AND THE "SERVICE STABILITRAK" MESSAGE APPEARS. THE LIGHTS AND MESSAGE TURN OFF AFTER SEVERAL MINUTES, BUT THEN CONTINUOUSLY TURN OFF AND ON. THE CHEVY DEALERSHIPS DO NOT KNOW HOW TO FIX THIS ISSUE. *TR

THE LIGHTS ON THE INSTRUMENTAL PANEL ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE WAS EXPERIENCED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE TIMING CHAIN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE TIMING CHAIN WAS REPLACED SEVERAL TIMES; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE DEALER ADVISED THE ENGINE NEEDED TO REPLACE. THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.

TL-THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH. THE VEHICLE ALL WHEEL DRIVE INDICATOR LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND BECAME INOPERABLE. I CALLED THE DEALER TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT BUT THE DEALER SAID THEY WOULD NOT FIX IT IF THEY COULD NOT DRIVE IT AND DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM, AND SINCE IT HASN'T HAPPENED RECENTLY, THEY TOLD ME TO JUST KEEP DRIVING IT. I AM MORE CONCERNED NOW THAT THEY APPARENTLY KNOW OF THIS PROBLEM AND MUST KNOW THE PROPER REPAIR, BUT DO NOT WANT TO FIX MY CAR. THE FUEL LINE ON THE 2012 EQUINOX (IS A FLEX FUEL, DON'T KNOW IF THAT MAKES ANY DIFFERENCE) IS PLASTIC AND NOT PROTECTED FROM ROAD HAZARDS. THE LINE RUNS CLOSE TO THE FRAME ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE FROM THE REAR TO FRONT OF THE CAR. ABOUT WHERE THE DRIVER SIDE PASSENGER DOOR IS, THE FUEL LINE HAS BLUE PLASTIC CONNECTORS FASTENING THE PLASTIC FUEL LINE. THIS SECTION OF FUEL LINE AND THE BLUE CONNECTOR TABS SIT LOWER THAN THE VEHICLE FRAME. (THERE IS ALSO ANOTHER SECTION IN FROM THE REAR TIRE THAT SITS A LITTLE HIGHER, BUT STILL UNPROTECTED) . ROAD HAZARDS SUCH AS ICE CHUNKS, HARD SNOW, DIRT/GRAVEL ROADS WITH RUTS OR HIGH CENTER, DIRT CLOTS, ROCKS, DEAD ANIMALS OR ANYTHING THAT IS ABOUT 7- 8 INCHES OR HIGHER ( OR GETS KNOCKED UP THERE) WILL BREAK THESE PLASTIC CONNECTORS OR FUEL LINE AND GAS WILL POUR OUT OF THE VEHICLE. MY FUEL LINE BROKE BY HITTING A SMALL MOUND OF SNOW THAT HAD FROZEN OVERNIGHT, BY BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY. AFTER QUICKLY NOTICING THE FUEL LEAK I RUSHED TO A LOCAL AUTO SHOP (LESS THAN 4 MILES) AND LOST ABOUT A FULL TANK OF GAS BEFORE GETTING THERE. NONE OF THE LOCAL DEALERS HAD THIS PART, WAS WITHOUT A VEHICLE FOR 3 DAYS. *TR
UPON ACCELERATION, WHEN THE TRANSMISSION UPSHIFTS INTO 2ND GEAR IT WILL GO INTO NEUTRAL. THE ENGINE WILL REV UP BUT THE VEHICLE JUST COASTS. IF YOU TAKE YOUR FOOT COMPLETELY OFF THE GAS IT WILL EVENTUALLY SLAM INTO GEAR AND WILL RESUME DRIVING BUT HAS ERRATIC AND HARD GEAR CHANGES AND MAY ALSO GO BACK INTO NEUTRAL AGAIN. THIS WILL LAST FOR THE ENTIRE DRIVE CYCLE UNLESS YOU PULL OVER AND TURN THE IGNITION OFF AND RESTART THE VEHICLE WHICH RESETS THE SYSTEM. IT DOES NOT TURN ON THE CEL LIGHT OR STORE ANY FAILURE CODES OR INFORMATION. IT IS A INTERMITTENT ISSUE WITH NO SET PATTERN. VERY DANGEROUS WHEN YOU ARE PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC OR ATTEMPTING TO MERGE OR PASS ANOTHER VEHICLE. I TRADED IN A 2011 EQUINOX WITH THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM FOR THIS 2012 EQUINOX WHEN THE DEALER COULD NOT CORRECT IT. I HAVE CHECKED VARIOUS EQUINOX FORUMS AND I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON THAT IS HAVING THIS ISSUE. JUST A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE SOMEONE GETS RUN OVER BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WILL NOT ACCELERATE. *TR
WE BUY THIS CAR FROM CHEVROLET COMPANY ON NOVEMBER 14,2011. SINCE THAT TIME THE CAR WAS NOT IN OFTEN USE. UP TO ONE YEAR IT IS WAS IN THE STORAGE WHEN WE BEGAN TO USE IT REGULAR WE NOTE THAT THE ENGINE HAS SOME FACTORY DEFECT, THE ENGINE OIL IS OFTEN DID NON RECEIVE TO EVEN 5000 MILES, AT THE 2500 MILES ESTIMETELY, WE WERE FORCE TO ALWAYS CHANGE OIL, THE OIL COLOR OF THE ENGINE WAS ALWAYS VERY BLACK AS DIRTY, WE ALWAYS WERE WONDERING, WHY THE COLOR OF THE ENGINE OIL IS TURNS VERY BLACK, LIKE WE DID NOT CHANGED IT FOR LONG TIME.

2012 CHEVROLET EQUINOX HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER FOUR TIMES FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. WOULD SEEM TO HAVE TO DO WITH THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS IN THE RADIO/GPS UNIT. THE SAFETY PORTION INVOLVES THE DASH AND GPS UNIT DARKENING DURING THE DAY WHICH CAUSES THE DRIVER NOT ABLE TO SEE ANY OF THE GAUGES. NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE THE SPEEDOMETER IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. AT THE SAME TIME ANY USE OF THE GPS IS UNAVAILABLE. HAVE BEEN TOLD THE ENTIRE UNIT AND COMPONENTS WERE REPLACED. NOW I HAVE MY DOUBTS.
