WHEN DRIVING I COULD FEEL IT JUMP AS IT WAS NOT GETTING GAS.. NOW IT STALLS WHEN I PUT ON THE GAS... CREATING A SAFETY HAZARD AS I DO TRAVEL HIGHWAY TO GET TO WORK..
ON JULY 21, 2019 AT APPROXIMATELY 5:15 PM I WAS DRIVING MY TRUCK IT WAS RAINING HARD DO HARD THAT I COULD BARELY SEE MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS WERE ON AND WORKING ALL OF A SUDDEN THEY STOPPED WORKING AND FLIPPED ALL THE WAY OVER TO THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW AND STOPPED WORKING NO MOVEMENT WHAT SO EVER. IT WAS VERY SCARY BECAUSE TRAFFIC WAS MOVING PRETTY FAST AND I COULDN'T SEE. I HAD TO LET MY WINDOW DOWN IN ORDER TO SEE TO GET TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ROAD TO PULL OVER. I HAD TO WAIT UNTIL IT STOPPED RAINING FOR ABOUT 45 MINUTES SO I COULD RETURN HOME SAFELY. I WAS ON DRIVING ON HWY 231 NORTH, IN WETUMPKA ALABAMA.
THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS ARE NOT WORKING. WE HAVE REPLACED THE BUSHINGS TWICE AND THEY CONTINUE TO STOP WORKING. THEY WILL WORK TEMPORARILY AND THEN FAIL AGAIN. THIS ORIGINALLY HAPPENED IN JULY OF 2019 AND AGAIN IN DECEMBER OF 2019
I'VE HAD THREE INCIDENTS WHERE MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS HAVE STOPPED WORKING. THE MOTOR WORKS FINE YOU CAN HEAR IT WHEN YOU TURN ON WIPERS BUT IT'S THE PLASTIC BUSHELS ON THE WINDSHIELD LINKAGE THAT KEEP COMING OFF CAUSING MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS TO EITHER NOT COME UP AT ALL, MAKE AWFUL NOISE AND COME UP SLIGHTLY, AND STOP IN MID WIPE AND FALL OFF TO THE SIDE OF WINDSHIELD. I'VE HAD THIS HAPPEN THREE TIMES AND IF YOU LOOK ONLINE YOUTUBE HAS MANY VIDEOS OF PEOPLE FIXING THERE EQUINOX WHERE IT HAS HAPPENED HE FIRST TIME MY UNCLE FIXED IT THE SECOND TIME I TOOK IT TO A CAR REPAIR SHOP AND THE THIRD TIME THAT HAPPENED TUESDAY AUGUST 20,2019 I TOOK TO A CAR REPAIR SHOP AND THEY ARE LOOKING TO SEE OUR OPTIONS AND WHAT TO DO NEXT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN OPENING THE REAR HATCH, THE DOOR WOULD RAPIDLY OPEN AND THEN ERRONEOUSLY CLOSE. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE SAFETY FEATURE DESIGNED TO DETECT A PERSON REACHING INTO THE REAR HATCH AREA WAS INOPERABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. BRITTAIN CHEVROLET (57 E. MARTIN ST, EAST PALESTINE, OH) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 54,000.
VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION TRAVELING 65 MPH ON I-95 AT 10:00 PM AT NIGHT. IT WAS DURING A THUNDERSTORM WITH HEAVY RAIN AND LOW VISIBILITY WHEN THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS ABRUPTLY STOPPED IN THE UPRIGHT POSITION BLOCKING MY VISION OF THE HIGHWAY. WIPERS WERE ON THE LOWEST NOTCH OF THE MEDIUM SETTING. THIS WAS VERY SCARY AND I HAD TO MOVE OVER THREE LANES AND LUCKILY WAS RIGHT NEAR A REST STOP AND WAS ABLE TO SAFELY STOP. I HAD TO MANUAL PUSH THE WIPERS DOWN. I COULD HEAR THE MOTOR BUT THE WIPERS DID NOT MOVE. I TURNED THE CAR ON AND OFF, STILL DID NOT WORK. I HAD TO WAIT UNTIL THE RAIN STOPPED. 70,000 MILES. THIS WAS A VERY SCARY EXPERIENCE AND THIS IS CLEARLY AN ISSUE. I HOPE THIS IS ADDRESSED TO PROTECT OTHERS. THIS COULD CAUSE MAJOR ACCIDENTS AND RISK LIVES. I FEEL VERY LUCKY.
OUR 2015 CHEVROLET EQUINOX WITH 62,900 MILES STALLED MULTIPLE TIMES WHILE IN REVERSE BACKING OUT OF OUR DRIVEWAY. NO ENGINE LIGHT SHOWING. WHILE STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT ON A MAJOR STREET AND INTERSECTION, THE CAR STALLED A FEW TIMES. YOU HAVE TO GIVE IT GAS WHEN SHIFTING FROM PARK TO DRIVE TO AVOID STALLING. AFTER 1 DAY, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. IT WAS TIME FOR AN OIL CHANGE SO I HAD THEM CHECK THE CODE. IT CAME BACK AS BANK ONE CAMSHAFT SENSOR P0011. THE NEXT DAY, ALL WAS FINE AND NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. 2 DAYS LATER, MULTIPLE STALLS AT STOP LIGHTS AND IN PARKING LIGHTS WHEN THE CAR IS GOING SLOW, STARTING FROM A STOP AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON.
WINDSHIELD WIPER LINKAGE FAILED DURING RAIN EVEN. 66,000 MILES.
DURING A TORRENTIAL DOWN POUR THE WIPERS WENT OUT.

WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT 9:45 PM AND IT STARTED TO POUR HEAVILY. I TURNED MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS ON AND INITIALLY THEY WORKED FINE AND THEN SUDDENLY THEY STOPPED IN THE UPRIGHT POSITION. I HAD ZERO VISIBILITY AND HAD TO PULL OVER BENEATH AN OVERPASS UNTIL THE RAIN STOPPED. NEEDLESS TO SAY, THIS A SIGNIFICANT CONCERN AS THE RISK FOR ACCIDENT AND/OR INJURY THAT COULD COME ABOUT BECAUSE OF THIS IS HIGH. WHEN DOING AN ONLINE SEARCH ABOUT THIS, I FOUND NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME SITUATION. THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM AMONG EQUINOX VEHICLES. WHY HAS THIS NOT BEEN INVESTIGATED? WHY SHOULD CONSUMERS HAVE TO PAY FOR SOMETHING THAT CLEARLY BEGAN AT THE FACTORY.
WINDSHIELD WIPERS IN RAIN STORM STOPPED WORKING WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY. REPL TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE REPLACED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS BECAME INOPERABLE WHICH LIMITED THE VISIBILITY OF THE ROADWAY. THE DRIVER WAS ABLE TO COAST INTO A PARKING LOT UNTIL THE RAIN WAS OVER. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT CALLED JIM PRICE AUTO GROUP LOCATED AT (2150 SEMINOLE TRAIL, CHARLOTTESVILLE VA 22901), AND A DIAGNOSTIC TESTING APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE LINK BALL SOCKET IN THE WIPER TRANSMISSION SEPARATED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,583.
I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM THE GROCERY WITH MY DAUGHTER IN THE CAR. IT WAS DURING A HEAVY THUNDERSTORM AND MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS JUST STOPPED WORKING. VISIBILITY WAS 0 AT THAT POINT. WE WERE ON A STATE HIGHWAY GOING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH. I HAD TO TRY AND GET OFF THE ROAD TO THE RIGHT AND ALMOST HIT ANOTHER CAR. MY HUSBAND CHANGED THE FUSE AND THAT WAS NOT THE PROBLEM. THE WIPERS ARE CURRENTLY NOT WORKING.
I WAS DRIVING ON A BUSY HIGHWAY YESTERDAY AFTERNOON IN THE POURING RAIN AND MY FRONT WIPER BLADES SUDDENLY QUIT WORKING IN THE UPRIGHT POSITION. I COULD BARELY SEE TO PULL OVER BECAUSE IT WAS RAINING SO HARD. I TURNING THE WIPERS ON & OFF AND EVEN TRIED TURNING THE CAR OFF & BACK ON. THEY WOULD NOT RESUME WORKING. I WAITED OUT THE DOWNPOUR & SLOWLY MADE MY WAY HOME. TODAY I TOOK THE CAR TO A AUTOZONE AFTER SEVERAL MEN IN THE FAMILY TOLD ME IT WAS PROBABLY THE FUSE. THE EMPLOYEE CHECKED THE FUSES AND THEY WERE ALL GOOD. HE TOLD ME THAT I WAS THE 3RD PERSON IN THIS WEEK WITH THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM DRIVING THE SAME MAKE & MODEL EQUINOX. HE SAID I WOULD NEED TO TAKE IT TO A REPAIR SHOP BECAUSE IT WAS A PART DEFECT & TOLD ME WHERE TO LOOK UP THE OTHER COMPLAINTS JUST LIKE MINE. I HAVEN'T EVEN OWNED THIS SUV A YEAR AND CAN'T BELIEVE I'M GOING TO HAVE TO PAY OVER $300 TO GET IT FIXED WHEN THE PROBLEM IS A $5 PART. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL ON THIS. SOMEONE IS GOING TO EITHER GET KILLED DRIVING IN THE RAIN & THIS HAPPENS TO THEM.
THE VARIABLE VALVE TIMING SOLENOID IS CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO STALL OUT UNEXPECTEDLY.
WINDSHIELD WIPERS STOPPED WORKING SUDDENLY WHILE DRIVING ON A BUSY STREET IN THE POURING RAIN WHILE I WAS ON MY WAY TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST (USING TOO MUCH OIL.) I WAS TOLD THAT I NEEDED TO HAVE THE WIPER MODULE ASSEMBLY REPLACED ($246.78) I READ AN ARTICLE THAT THE SAME PROBLEM WAS HAPPENING WITH THE 2013 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. I HAVE GOTTEN NO RESPONSE FROM THE DEALERSHIP'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT.
WINDSHIELD WIPERS FAILED WHILE DRIVING IN A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM ON THE HIGHWAY, WAS TOLD AT THE DEALERSHIP THAT THIS FAILING IS A "COMMON ISSUE".
CAMSHAFT POSITION ACTUATOR SOLENOID THIS HAPPENS AS SOON AS WE TURN THE CAR ON, PUT IT IN DRIVE AND BEGIN TO ACCELERATE. IT ALSO DOES IT WHEN WE ARE IDLING AT A STOP LIGHT OR STOP SIGN THE ENGINE WITH START TO JUMP AS IF IT'S NOT REACTING TO THE ACCELERATOR. WHILE WE ARE TRAVELING DOWN THE ROAD YOU CAN FEEL THE CAR JUMP AS IF IT'S TRYING TO STALL ITSELF. WE HAVE TO PUT THE CAR BACK IN PARK TO START IT SO IF THIS HAPPENS WHILE WE ARE TRAVELING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED THEN THAT COULD CAUSE A MAJOR ACCIDENT OR SOMETHING MORE TRAJIC. OUR CAR STALLS WHEN IT'S AT IDLE OR WHEN WE ARE BEGINNING TO ACCELERATE. THIS POSES A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN FOR OUR FAMILY AS WE ARE GOING TO HAVE AN INFANT IN A MONTH. WE HAVE BEEN DOING RESEARCH ON THIS PARTICULAR PROBLEM AND IT SEEMS THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF OTHERS WITH THE SAME ISSUE AS US. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED AND RESOLVED.
WHILE I WAS DRIVING WHILE IT WAS RAINING, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS STOPPED WORKING. THE WIPERS WERE STILL UP WHEN THEY STOPPED WORKING. WHEN I GOT HOME I CHECKED THE WIPER MOTOR AND TRANSMISSION TO FIND THE ISSUE. THE WINDSHIELD WIPER TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY HAS AN ARM THAT DISCONNECTS FROM THE REST OF THE ASSEMBLY.
I WAS DRIVING IN A RAIN STORM TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY FROM ARKANSAS TO MISSOURI WHEN MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS QUIT WORKING. LUCKILY THERE WAS NO ONE AROUND. I HAD TO PULL OVER AND WAIT FOR THE STORM TO PASS.
MY DAUGHTER WHO IS LEARNING TO DRIVE TURNED ON THE WIPERS ON HIGH DUE TO RAINING AND THE WIPERS STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE. I THE PARENT CAREFULLY GOT HER TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD SO WE WOULD NOT GET IN A ACCIDENT. THIS IS A PROBLEM AND PEOPLE COULD BE KILLED. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED.
I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE BROUGHT TO THE DEALERS ATTENTION AND WAS TOLD NOT COVERED. VEHICLE STALLED OUT AND I WAS REAR ENDED DUE TO ISSUE WITH POWER TRAIN
I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE DURING A RAINSTORM. WIPERS WERE SET TO HIGH SPEED AND THEN STOPPED. ONE WAS IN THE UPRIGHT POSITION BLOCKING THE DRIVER VIEW AND THE OTHER WAS PARTIALLY HANGING OFF THE DRIVER SIDE WINDSHIELD. HAD TO CHANGE TWO LANES AND PULL OFF ROAD WITH ZERO VISIBILITY. IT WAS VERY SCARY. I WAS GLAD MY KIDS WEREN'T IN THE CAR. TURNED CAR OFF AND ON, DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. HAD TO WAIT ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD UNTIL THE RAIN STOPPED SO THAT I COULD DRIVE SAFELY. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID TRANSMISSION MODULE FAILED. $324 FIX. INTERESTINGLY THEY SAID IT WAS THE FOURTH EQUINOX THEY FIXED THIS MONTH WITH THIS PROBLEM. THIS NEEDS A RECALL.
WINDSHIELD WIPERS STOPPED WORKING DURING RAIN STORM WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. WIPER BLADES STOPPED IN THE UPRIGHT POSITION PARTIALLY BLOCKING MY FIELD OF VISION. AFTER EXITING THE HIGHWAY AND PULLING OFF OF THE ROAD I WAS ABLE TO MANUALLY PUSH THE WIPERS DOWN. RESTARTING THE VEHICLE DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM.

IT WAS DETERMINED TO BE THE PLASTIC BUSHING HOLDING THE WIPER ARM ONTO THE WIPER TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY. IT JUST HAPPENED AGAIN DURING A RAINSTORM. BOTH INCIDENTS BUT ME AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND THERE'S NO REASON FOR A WEHICLE THIS NEW TO BE HAVING THESE SORTS OF ISSUES. I'VE READ ABOUT OTHER PEOPLE ONLINE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. PORTER CHERVOLET IN NEWARK, DE IS CHARGING ME ANOTHER $330 TO FIX IT AND IT'S A $4 PART THAT IS FAILING.
THE VEHICLE STARTED WITH A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. VEHICLE HAS 46000 MILES. WHEN COLD, ENGINE STALLS AT RANDOM STOPS AT A LIGHT, PARKING LOT, DRIVE THRU. VEHICLE MUST BE PUT INTO PARK AND RESTARTED CAUSING A SAFETY HAZARD AND DRIVING DANGER. CODE FLASHES P0011. DEALER STATED VEHICLE NEEDS NEW SENSOR. $300 REPAIR. THIS PROBLEM SHOULD BE A RECALL, AS A STALLING PROBLEM IS A SAFTETY HAZARD AND SHOULD BE REIMBURSED BY GM. CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT IN AN INTERSECTION BY BLOCKING TRAFFIC AT RANDOM.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENTIRE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONED. THE BACKUP CAMERA, SPEEDOMETER, ODOMETER, FUEL GAUGE, AND CRUISE CONTROL FAILED TO WORK. THE FAILURES WERE ESPECIALLY PROBLEMATIC DURING NIGHTTIME DRIVING. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO TWO DEALERS. ON OF THE DEALERS, GRAFF CHEVROLET OKEMOS (1748 W GRAND RIVER AVE, OKEMOS, MI 48864), STATED THAT THE PARTS NEEDED FOR THE REPAIR WERE BACKORDERED AND WERE NOT CURRENTLY BEING MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED, REPEATED WHAT THE DEALER STATED, AND PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THEY WOULD SPEAK WITH THE DEALER AND INFORMED THE CONTACT TO CALL BACK IN A WEEK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,826.
ON MAY 31, 2019 WHILE DRIVING IN A HEAVY RAIN STORM MY WIPERS SUDDENLY STOPPED IN THE UPMOST POSITION CAUSING ZERO VISABILITY ON A BUSY ROAD. AFTER GETTING SAFELY OFF THE ROAD I TRIED MOVING THE WIPER BLADES AND CAN HEAR CLUNKING WHEN THEY MOVE. THE LINKAGE HAS SEPARATED AT THE BUSHING. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS DEFECT THAT NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED BY GM.
WIPERS STOPPED FUNCTIONING WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET. THIS WAS DURING A HEAVY RAIN STORM AND VISIBILITY WAS COMPLETELY REDUCED TO NOTHING WHICH NEARLY RESULTED IN A COLLISION WITH A SEMI AND SEVERAL OTHER VEHICLES AS THERE WAS NO LANE TO PULL OVER IN.
THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS FAILED DURING A RAINSTORM. THEY WERE ON THE SECOND TO HIGHEST SETTING, AND THEY JUST STOPPED WORKING IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY INTERSECTION. I HAD TO DRIVE VERY SLOWLY WITH MY HAZARD LIGHTS TO THE NEAREST PARKING AREA TO STOP, BECAUSE THERE WAS NO SHOULDER. THE PLASTIC BUSHING FAILED IN THE WIPER PART, AND CHEVROLET DOES NOT SELL JUST THAT PART. WE HAD TO REPLACE THE WHOLE WIPER ASSEMBLY.
WHILE IN MOTION AND DRIVING DURING A RAIN STORM, I HAD THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS OPERATING WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THEY GET STUCK AND STOP WORKING. NOTHING COLLIDED WITH THEM, THEY SIMPLY STOPPED ON THEIR OWN. I COULD HEAR THE MOTOR THAT OPERATED THE WIPERS STILL FUNCTIONING, BUT THE WIPERS THEMSELVES WOULDN'T MOVE. I SEARCHED ON GOOGLE AND ON YOUTUBE AND THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS CAR MODEL AND THIS ISN'T THE FIRST TIME IT HAS HAPPENED TO THIS VEHICLE EITHER.
I GOT A FAULTY CODE OF P0010 AND MY CAR WILL CUT OFF AT ANY GIVEN TIME WHEN IN DRIVE OR REVERSE. THERE WAS ANOTHER P CODE THAT PERTAINED TO THE BANK 1 SOLENOID AND TIMING CHAIN.
I WAS DRIVING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RAIN AND THE WIPER STOPPED WORKING. AND PURCHASED THE VEHICLE 2 MONTH BEFORE THE INCIDENT.
FRONT WINDSHIELD WIPERS STOPPED WORKING WHILE DRIVING IN MIDDLE OF A RAIN STORM. PROBABLY THE WIPER TRANSMISSION OR LINK. ONLY 45,000 MILES ON THE CAR!!!
I WAS DRIVING IN HEAVY RAIN. FRONT WINDSHIELD WIPERS STOPPED WORKING. ALMOST WRECKED . THIS HAPPENED ON 5/10/2019.
ON MAY 10 2019, WHILE ON VACATION, I WAS DRIVING THRU RAIN ON A 4 LANE HEAVILY TRAVELED ROAD. MY WIPERS SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING IN THE UPMOST POSITION. I PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AS SAFELY AS I COULD, WHILE TURNING THE WIPERS ON AND OFF WITH NO RESPONSE. SINCE I WAS TRAVELING ALONE, I SAT AND COLLECTED MYSELF WHILE WAITING FOR THE RAIN TO SUBSIDE. WHEN I COULD I GOT OUT AND GAVE THE WIPERS A PUSH , HOPING THEY WERE "STUCK". THEY WENT DOWN AND STAYED . WHILE THE RAIN HAD SLOWED BUT NOT STOPPED, I MADE MY WAY SLOWLY ABOUT 5 MILES TO AN AUTO ZONE. THERE THEY CHECKED MY FUSES AND RELAY SWITCHES WHICH CHECKED OUT FINE. I WAS 4 HOURS AWAY FROM HOME AND WITHIN A LARGE WEATHER FRONT. THE AUTO ZONE PEOPLE ADVISED ME TO "RAINX" MY WINDSHIELD , WHICH I DID. I THEN DROVE 36 MILES TO THE NEAREST MOTEL IN WEST POINT MISS. I HAD TO STAY THE NIGHT AS THE WEATHER FRONT PASSED. AFTER WATCHING THE WEATHER RADAR, I LEFT WEST POINT MISS. AT 4:45 A.M. ON SATURDAY MORNING TO ATTEMPT TO MISS THE NEXT RAIN EVENT PREDICTED TO ARRIVE AROUND 9:30. THANKFULLY I ARRIVED HOME AT 9;00 A.M. DURING SPRINKLING RAIIN. THE AUTO ZONE EMPLOYEES HAD TOLD ME THERE WAS A RECALL ON 2015 CHEVY EQUINOX AND UPON ARRIVING HOME , I CALLED MY DEALERSHIP. MY VIN # WAS NOT ONE THAT WAS IN THE RECALL. BUT UPON RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE, I FOUND MY PROBLEM IS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT AND MANY 2015 EQUINOX OWNERS HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS SAME EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION. AS ANY TIME THE WIPERS ARE NEEDED IN DRIVING, TO NOT BE ABLE TO RELY UPON THEM IS EXTREMELY FRIGHTENING AND DANGEROUS. I FEEL GM MOTORS IS TAKING THEIR CAR OWNERS SAFETY VERY LIGHTLY. SINCE I HAVE OWNED NUMEROUS VEHICLES SINCE 1972, AND THIS BEING THE FIRST GM PRODUCT I HAVE EVER OWNED. I WILL DEFINITELY HAVE TO TAKE GM'S LACK OF CONCERN INTO CONSIDERATION WHEN PURCHASING MY NEXT VEHICLE.

WHILE DRIVING ACROSS THE BAY BRIDGE, NEAR BALTIMORE, MD. MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS STOPPED WORKING! I WAS DRIVING IN A RAIN STORM ON THE HIGHWAY, AND LUCKILY FOR ME, I WAS ABLE TO STICK MY ARM OUT THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW AND MANUALLY MOVE THE WIPER, BACK AND FORTH, ABOUT 6 INCHES. THE TRAFFIC WAS TERRIBLE AND IT TOOK ABOUT 5 MINUTES BEFORE I COULD WORK MY WAY TO AN EXIT. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A NAPA REPAIR SHOP AND THE OWNER TOLD ME THAT THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY WAS BROKEN. UP TO THIS POINT, I NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE WIPERS. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE TO LEWES, DE. WHERE I WAS HEADED INITIALLY, USING MY LEFT ARM TO KEEP THE WINDSHIELD VISABLE. THE RAIN STOPPED ABOUT 40 MINUTES LATER. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO COASTAL TOWING, INC. TO GET IT FIXED THE NEXT DAY. THE OWNER THERE TOLD MY THE CHEVY HAS HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE DESIGN ON THE ASSEMBLY (2-PART) AND ARE RE-ENGINEERING A SINGLE PART ASSEMBLY. IT COST ME $350.98 TO GET IT FIXED! I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED, OR WORSE, KILLED SOMEONE ELSE. A RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED ON THIS IMMEDIATELY!! TRAVELING ON THE INTERSTATE DURING A TORRENTIAL RAIN STORM. THE WIPERS WERE ON HIGH SPEED. THE WIPERS STARTED TO RUN ERRATICALLY. BOUNCED A FEW TIMES ON THE WINDSHIELD BREAKING IT. THEN THE WIPERS CAME TO REST HANGING OFF THE DRIVERS SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THIS FAILURE OF AN ESSENTIAL SAFETY SYSTEM SHOULD BE ANALYZED. DUE TO LUCK OR DRIVING SKILL THIS EQUIPMENT FAILURE RESULTED IN NO ACCIDENT OR INJURY. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AT MY COST.
WHILE DRIVING IN DOWNPOUR, MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS STOPPED WORKING. DRIVING 65 ON THE HIGHWAY IN A DOWNPOUR WITH NO WIPERS IS DANGEROUS AND I ALMOST CRASHED A FEW TIMES. THE MOTOR WAS FINE. IT WAS THE ASSEMBLY TRANSMISSION THAT KEPT POPPING OFF THE MOTOR THAT WAS THE PROBLEM. WHEN I HAD IT REPLACED, THE MECHANIC SHOWED ME, IT SLIPPED OFF SO EASILY, IT'S NUTS THAT IT LASTED THE 2 YEARS I'VE HAD THE CAR. THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS IN CAN, WHY NOT IN THE US? I HAD MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR. WE COULD HAVE CRASHED AND SERIOUSLY BEEN INJURED OR KILLED. AGAIN, THE PART DID NOT BREAK. IT SIMPLE MALFUNCTIONED. IT'S A BALL/JOINT TYPE SYSTEM. MUST BE BETTER. DO BETTER CHEVY. I DEFEND YOUR BRAND DAILY. DON'T MAKE ME REGRET IT. JUST DO BETTER. THEN I CALL CHEVY ABOUT REPLACING - I'M TOLD IT WILL COST UPWARDS OF $600. TO REPLACE A FAULTY PART?! THIS CAN'T BE NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. I HAD MY 4 YEAR OLD VW JETTA FOR 10 YEARS (14 YEAR OLD CAR) BEFORE I SOLD IT AND DIDN'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THE WIPER BLADES OR ASSEMBLY ONCE. I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW IT WAS A THING UNTIL THIS HAPPENED. VERY SAD. I HOPE YOU RECALL THIS PART ASAP. PEOPLE CAN SERIOUSLY BE HURT. TRY DRIVING IN A DOWNPOUR AND HAVE NO WIPERS, WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY WITH YOUR KIDS IN THE CAR.

I WAS TRAVELLING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 60 MPH IN HEAVY RAIN WHEN MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS SUDDENLY SHUT DOWN AND WOULD NO LONGER WORK. I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY SLOW DOWN AND STOP, BUT THIS COULD HAVE ENDED MUCH DIFFERENTLY AS I WAS UNABLE TO SEE ANYTHING! THIS APPEARS TO BE THE SAME PROBLEM AS MANY HAVE REPORTED WITH THE BEARINGS ON THE WIPER TRANSMISSION CORRODING AND COMING APART.
DRIVING ON EXPRESSWAY AT HIGH SPEED IN HEAVY DOWNPOUR, WIPERS ON HIGH. WIPERS STOPPED WORKING STUCK IN MIDDLE OF WINDSHIELD. COULD NOT SEE ANYTHING. CHECKING INTERNET THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE, PLASTIC BEARING GOES.
MY WIFE AND DAUGHTER WERE DRIVING 70 MPH ON I-75 EXPRESSWAY ON THURSDAY EVENING (18APR19) DURING THE EVENING RUSH HOUR. IS WAS RAINING VERY HARD. THE VEHICLE WIPERS WERE SET ON HIGH-SPEED AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE WIPERS TRAVELED PAST THEIR NORMAL RANGE. THE WIPER SYSTEM FAILED IN THE EXTENDED TRAVEL POSITION. THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE LEFT MOST LANE OF THE EXPRESSWAY, SO MY WIFE DECIDED TO PULLED OVER TO THE LEFT SIDE OF THE ROAD. SHE HAD VERY LIMITED VISIBILITY BECAUSE OF THE HEAVY RAIN. SHE EVENTUALLY DECIDED TO EXIT THE EXPRESSWAY, WHICH REQUIRED HER TO CROSS (4) LANES OF HEAVY TRAFFIC BEFORE GETTING TO THE EXPRESSWAY EXIT. SHE PARKED THE VEHICLE IN THE CLOSEST PARKING LOT AND CALLED TO BE PICKED UP. MY WIFE AND DAUGHTER WERE REALLY LUCKY. LOSING ONE'S WIPERS DURING A THUNDERSTORM, WHILE DRIVING ON AN EXPRESSWAY, IS A REALLY DANGEROUS SITUATION TO BE IN. THANK GOODNESS NOTHING REALLY BAD HAPPENED.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO WALKER CHEVROLET (3940 CAROTHERS PKWY, FRANKLIN, TN 37067, (615) 538-5184) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT NEW WINDSHIELD WIPERS NEEDED TO BE INSTALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,600.
DURING A HEAVY RAIN, THE DRIVER SIDE WIPER SUDDENLY SWUNG PAST THE STOPPING POINT OF THE EDGE OF THE WINDSHIELD AND FORCED THE WIPER MOTOR ARMS AND BUSHINGS TO BREAK APART. THE FORCE DESTROYED THE BUSHINGS AND BEND THE MOTOR ARMS AS WELL AS STRIPPED THE THREADS BETWEEN THE WIPER MOTOR MOUNT AND THE WIPER ARM
ON 4-14-29 MY CAR STALLED WHILE DRIVING MULTIPLE TIMES. I HAD IT TAKEN IN TO A GM DEALERSHIP ON 4-15-19 AND THEY STATED THAT THERE WAS AN ENGINE OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUE THRU THE PISTON RINGS THAT HAS CAUSED EXTENSIVE DAMAGE. THERE PROPOSAL WAS EITHER A $3500 FIX OR A NEW ENGINE FOR $7000. I CALLED GM MYSELF (COMPAINT REFERENCE #[XXX]) AND THEY STATED THAT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM AND CURRENTLY UNDER INVESTIGATION BUT THAT MY VIN NUMBER WAS NOT INCLUDED ON THE RECALL LIST TO HAVE IT FIXED. THEY INFORMED ME TO SAVE RECIEPTS UPON PAYMENT FOR ANY REPAIRS I HAD DONE INCASE LATER IN THE FUTURE THERE WAS A RECALL. I WAS ADVISED TO DISCUSS MY ISSUE WITH THE CUSTOMER EXPERIECE MANAGER AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR SOME RESOLUTION. UPON DISCUSSION WITH THEM THEY STATED THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO AT THIS TIME AS THEY CAN ONLY FIX "KNOWN" ISSUE WITH PERMISSION FROM GM. THE DEALERSHIP ALSO ADVISED THAT IT WOULD BE RIDICULOUS FOR ME TO PAY $7000 TO HAVE ANOTHER ENGINE ADDED INTO MY VEHICLE AS THIS ENGINE WOULD MORE THAN LIKELY HAVE THE SAME ISSUES. THEY ADVISED ME TO RENT A CAR UNTIL I COULD DECIDE WHAT TO DO. THE RENTAL CAR WAS $55/DAY EQUALING TO $1650 A MONTH WHICH IS NOT FEASIBLE. I HAD TO PICK UP MY CAR TODAY FROM THE DEALERSHIP AS I NEED TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM WORK AS I WORK 45MIN AWAY AND THERE IS NOT ANOTHER OPTION AT THIS TIME. I WAS GIVEN A PAPER WITH DETAILS OF WORK NEEDED FROM DEALERSHIP THAT I WILL SAVE FOR FUTURE REFERENCE. ON MY WAY HOME MY CAR STALLED MULTIPLE TIMES AGAIN. IT DOES INDEED TURN OVER AND RESTART ONCE DEAD, BUT THIS POSES A HUGE SAFETY HAZARD TO NOT ONLY MYSELF BUT OTHER DRIVERS ON THE STREET AS WELL. HOPE THERE IS SOME RESOLUTION TO THIS AS I HAVE READ MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ONLINE FROM OTHER DRIVERS WITH THE SAME CAR, SPECIFICALLY THE 2.4L ECOTECH ENGINE, WHICH IS WHAT I HAVE. MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS STOPPED WORKING COMPLETELY ON A RAINY DAY. IT BEGAN TO RAIN. I PULLED INTO A GAS STATION, STOPPED, AND TURNED MY WIPERS OFF. PREPARING TO LEAVE THE GAS STATION, I TURNED THE WIPERS BACK ON AFTER I TURNED THE CAR BACK ON WHILE I WAS STILL PARKED. THE WIPERS WENT UP ONE TIME, THEY STOPPED IN THE UPWARD POSITION, AND NEVER STARTED BACK WORKING. DURING THE TIME THAT I HAVE HAD THIS VEHICLE, THE WIPERS WOULD GO SO HARD THAT THE WIPERS WOULD GO PAST THE STOPPING POINT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE, AS IF THE DRIVER SIDE WIPER WAS GOING TO GO OFF THE SIDE. THE WIPER WOULD MAKE A NOISE LIKE IT HIT SOMETHING. THIS EVEN OCCURED ON THE LOWEST SETTING FOR MY WIPERS. THIS INCIDENT OCCURRED LAST NIGHT AND IT IS STILL RAINING WITH THUNDER SO I HAVE NO PICTURES.
