ON MAY 18, 2016, I WAS GOING APPROX. 10 MILES/HOUR ON DRY PAVEMENT, ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A RH TURN WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP. I WAS UNABLE TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE FOR APPROX. 5 SECONDS. SINCE I HAD BEGUN THE TURN BUT WAS UNABLE TO FINISH THE TURN, THE VEHICLE WENT INTO THE ONCOMING TRAFFIC LANE. IF THERE HAD BEEN A CAR IN THE ONCOMING LANE, I WOULD HAVE HIT IT. AFTER APPROX. 5 SECONDS, THE STEERING WHEEL UNLOCKED AND I WAS ABLE TO COMPLETE THE TURN AND GET THE VEHICLE BACK INTO THE PROPER LANE. TOOK VEHICLE INTO DEALER; DEALER INFORMED ME OF A MANUFACTURER SAFETY BULLETIN FOR LOSS OF POWER STEERING. DEALER RE-PROGRAMMED POWER STEERING, TEST DROVE AND INFORMED ME THAT IT HAD BEEN REPAIRED. WHEN I PICKED UP VEHICLE FROM DEALER, I WAS BACKING OUT OF PARKING SPACE, LOST COMPLETE POWER STEERING; UNABLE TO GET VEHICLE BACK INTO PARKING SPOT. CURRENTLY VEHICLE IS AT DEALER. THIS VEHICLE HAS APPROX. 8K MILES. THIS IS THE 2ND MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN. THE FIRST OCCURRED APPROX. 1 MONTH AGO. VEHICLE WAS MAKING LOUD KNOCKING NOISE. DEALER INFORMED ME THE FLY WHEEL WAS DAMAGED. GM TOLD DEALER TO REPLACE THE TORQUE CONVERTER. I FEEL UNSAFE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE.
DRIVING DOWN HIGHWAY AT 11:15PM, USING CRUISE CONTROL SET AT 62 MPH, APPLIED BRAKE TO SLOW DOWN AS I ENTERED SMALL TOWN. COMING OUT OF TOWN PASSED SLOW VEHICLE, SPED UP TO AROUND 65. TOOK FOOT OFF GAS PEDAL AND PEDAL WENT STRAIGHT TO THE FLOOR AND STUCK. FORGOT ABOUT MY ONSTAR. TAPPED PEDAL A COUPLE TIMES TO UNSTICK IT, NOTHING. APPLIED BRAKE A COUPLE TIMES, NOTHING. STOOD ON BRAKES, JUST JERKING DOWN THE ROAD. LOOKED AND WAS UP TO 85 MPH, PUSHED CRUISE CONTROL BUTTON TO TURN IT COMPLETELY OFF. NOTHING WAS HELPING. FINALLY THE PEDAL POPPED BACK UP AND HIT THE BOTTOM OF MY FOOT, AND WE WERE ABLE TO FINALLY SLOW DOWN. THIS WAS A VERY TERRIFYING EXPERIENCE AND I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE MY CAR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. WHILE DRIVING AT A LOW SPEED AND ATTEMPTING TO PARK, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, BUT THE VEHICLE JERKED AND ACCELERATED INDEPENDENTLY. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT DROVE OVER A CONCRETE DIVIDER AND CRASHED INTO A BUILDING. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTO BODY REPAIR CENTER FOR BODY REPAIRS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED BASED ON THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND SENT A TECHNICIAN TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,500.
FALSE ALARMS HAVE OCCURRED 5 TIMES FROM THE FORWARD CRASH ALERT SYSTEM. THE DISPLAY FLASHES AND SOUND SEVERAL HIGH-PITCHED BEEPS. ALSO ONE CAN FEEL SLIGHT BRAKING AND WHEN USING CRUSE CONTROL IT DISENGAGES. HAS OCCURRED AT 70 MPG ON HIGHWAY (TWICE) AND AT 35 ON CITY STREET (3 TIMES) WHILE NO VEHICLES WERE IN RANGE TO SHOW A GREEN OR RED VEHICLE ON DASH.
A/C VENTS HAVE BEEN SPEWING SHINY WHITE FLAKES THROUGHOUT THE VEHICLE FOR ABOUT 2 1/2 YEARS WHICH THE DEALER DID NOT INVESTIGATE TO FIND THE THEIR SOURCE NOR DID THEY REPAIR THE VEHICLE WHILE IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY SAYING THE FLAKES WERE DUST OR POLLEN. I HAD SAMPLES OF THE FLAKES ANALYZED BY ANALYTICS CORP. OF ASHLAND, VA AND THE TESTS SHOWED A PLETHORA OF ELEMENTS TO INCLUDE ONES THAT ARE CONSIDERED TOXIC. I PUT A CLAIM IN WITH GENERAL MOTORS AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD HAVE THE DEALER REPLACE THE EVAPORATOR CORE ID I SIGN A RELEASE/NON DISCLOSURE AGREEMENT GIVING UP ALL FUTURE RIGHTS AND CLAIMS. HOWEVER, I DON'T IF THE EVAPORATOR CORE IS THE SOURCE OF THESE TOXIC METALS.
EXTREME DESIGN FLAWS. REAR-SIDE/CORNER VIEW WINDOWS ARE TOO SMALL & LOCATION IS OF NO HELP VISUALLY. BACK SEAT HEAD RESTS ARE NON-REMOVABLE & BLOCK VIEW OF MERGING TRAFFIC. WE MUST FOLD DOWN BACK SEATS FOR SAFETY. RARELY DO WE CARRY BACK SEAT PASSENGERS; BACK SEAT HEAD RESTS SHOULD BE REMOVABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL NOISE AND CRASHED INTO A CURB. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ON-STAR READING INDICATED THAT THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED HOWEVER, THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER THE CRASH, THE DRIVERS SIDE SEAT BELT FAILED TO RETRACT. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED BACK PAINS AND ABRASIONS FROM THE SEAT BELT BUT IT WAS UNKNOWN IF MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS REQUIRED. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND THE CONTACT WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V666000 (AIR BAGS). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000.
MY VEHICLE WAS STRUCK IN THE FRONT BY ANOTHER VEHICLE AS I WAS CROSSING A FOUR LANE HIGHTWAY. OTHER VEHICLE WAS RUNNING 65 MPH. MY SEAT BELT LOCKED, BUT NONE OF THE FRONT OR SIDE CURTAIN AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. I SUFFERED A MILD CONCUSSION AS A RESULT OF MY HEAD STRIKING THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW. IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE WRECK, ONE COULD SMELL THE INFLATORS RELEASING VAPOR, BUT NO DEPLOYMENT OF THE BAGS OCCURRED. VEHICLE WAS A TOTAL LOSS DUE TO STRUCTURAL DAMAGE.
TRAVELING WITH CRUISE CONTROL SET TO 40 MPH ON A 2 LANE ROAD THE COLLISION ALERT WENT OFF, BEEPING AND THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED HARD ENOUGH TO FEEL THE STUTTER OF THE ANTI LOCK SYSTEM. THIS WAS THE SECOND TIME, THE FIRST TIME NO CRUISE WAS BEING USED. I HAD TO APPLY THE BRAKE PEDAL TO GAIN CONTROL AGAIN. CAR IS CURRENTLY AT CHEVY DEALER BEING CHECKED. THERE WAS NO THREAT OR CARS IN FRONT OF ME. I AM NOW SCARED TO DRIVE WITH THE SAFETY FEATURES TURNED ON.
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING OUR 2015 CHEVY EQUINOXS DOWN A 4 LANE HIGHWAY IN TOWN WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE ANTI COLLISION WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND BELLS WENT OFF AND THE FRONT BRAKES LOCKED UP FOR NO REASON WE BOUGHT THE CAR 2 MONTHS AGO AND IT HAS 7,000 MILES ON IT THE CAR IS CURRENTLY AT THE CHEVY DEALERS HERE IN TOWN BEI8NG LOOKED AT.
"TAKATA RECALL . I WAS ON MY PHONE USING THE BLUETOOTH. THEN I RECEIVED ANOTHER CALL AND TOOK CALL. MY OTHER PARTY HUNG UP THE LINE AND ONCE I WAS DONE WITH THE CALL I HUNG UP BUT ON THE DISPLAY IT SHOWED AS IF I WAS STILL ON MY PHONE. CUT MY CAR OFF STILL NOTHING HAPPENED. I WENT SO FAR AS RESTING MY RADIO AND PHONE FEATURES.... STILL NOTHING. SO WHEN I HOME THE LIGHT AND DISPLAY STAYED ON AND WHEN WOKE UP THE NEXT MORNING BATTERY DEAD ....MIND YOU THIS IS A 2015 NOT EVEN 3 OR 4 MONTHS SINCE I BOUGHT IT. TOOK THE CAR IN AFTER I HAD TO GET A JUMP START. THE DEALERSHIP KEPT MY CAR FOR A FEW DAYS TO TELL ME NOTHING IS WRONG. BUT AS I DID SOME RESEARCH I SEE OTHER CHEVY EQUINOX OWNER'S ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUES. WHAT IS GOING TO BE DONE??
VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED NEW FROM DEALERSHIP YESTERDAY. IT HAD 68 MILES ON ODOMETER. DROVE TO ANOTHER DESTINATION APPROXIMATELY 15 MILES AWAY, PARKED THE VEHICLE, TURNED OFF THE IGNITION, GOT OUT AND RETURNED 5 MINUTES LATER THEN STARTED THE VEHICLE AND DROVE AWAY THEN NOTICED THE ELECTRONIC SPEEDOMETER WAS NO LONGER WORKING. THIS VEHICLE HAD LESS THAN 90 MILES ON IT AND NEED TO RETURN TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR. VERY UPSET AND WORRIED ABOUT THIS VEHICLE, IS AN INDICATOR OF THE BUILD QUALITY- GM, PLEASE REPLACE THIS VEHICLE.
THE INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER LENS ALLOWS FOR AN EXCESSIVE GLARE THAT NOT ONLY PREVENTS THE DRIVER FROM BEING ABLE TO ADEQUATELY READ THE SETTINGS OF THE ANALOG GAUGES, BUT IS ALSO A NUISANCE AND A DISTRACTION ALLOWING THE GLARE FROM THE LENS/COVERS TO BLIND THE DRIVER'S VISION, IN ADDITION TO THE GLARE THAT COMES FROM THE GEAR SHIFT LEVER.
VERY SLOW TO PICK UP SPEED FROM A COMPLETE STOP. AND ALSO VERY SLOW PICKING UP SPEED GOING UP A HILL, TRANSMISSION SHIFTS VERY SLOWLY AND ENGINE BECOMES LOUD WHEN LEAVING FROM A COMPLETE STOP OR GOING UP HILLS. THIS ISSUE HAPPENS ALL THE TIME SINCE THE PURCHASE OF A VEHICLE. ASK A DEALER REGARDING THIS ISSUE AND THEY SAID THAT'S JUST THE WAY THE VEHICLE WAS MADE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE AT AN INTERSECTION, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DUPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,000.
ON TWO (2) SEPARATE OCCASIONS MY VEHICLE HAS STOPPED DEAD IN THE ROADWAY WHILE DRIVING. I LOST ALL POWER STEERING, LIGHTS, RADIO ETC. I WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE BOTH TIMES. THIS COULD BE DEADLY IF I AM ON A BUSY ROAD OR FREEWAY. I AM TERRIFIED FOR MY SAFETY, BUT ALSO FOR MY TWO YEAR OLD GRANDSON, FAMILY, FRIENDS AND ANYONE ELSE WHO COULD BE INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT IF THIS HAPPENS AGAIN. MY VEHICLE WAS LEASED JANUARY 19, 2015. I AM WAY UNDER ON MY MILES (2600) AND HAS BEEN WELL MAINTAINED BY ME WITH ZERO DAMAGE ANYWHERE. MY VEHICLE WAS IN THE DEALERSHIP FROM JUNE 29, 2015 THE FIRST TIME THE ENGINE STOPPED WHILE DRIVING. THEY KEPT THE VEHICLE FRO 3 DAYS. AT THAT TIME I WAS ADVISED BY THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT THAT MINE WAS THE THIRD VEHICLE IN THE LAST WEEK WITH THE SAME COMPLAINT. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP ON JULY 6TH AFTER THE SECOND TIME IT STOPPED DEAD IN THE ROADWAY. I WAS CALLED ON AUGUST 12, 2015 THAT THE VEHICLE WAS READY FOR PICK UP AND THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN UNABLE TO FIND THE PROBLEM. THE SERVICE DEPT. STATES THEY HAVE DRIVEN THE VEHICLE FOR A MERE 58 MILES OVER THE LAST SEVERAL WEEKS. THE SERVICE MANAGER SUGGESTS I BUY OUT MY LEASE AND JUST SELL IT TO SOMEONE ELSE. OF COURSE THIS IS NOT AN OPTION FOR ME.
DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 35-40 MPH WITH NO VEHICLES IN SIGHT, NO OBSTACLES, ON A CLEAR DAY, THE FRONT COLLISION ALERT TURNED ON AND THE VEHICLE BRAKES WERE STRONGLY APPLIED. IT WAS EXTREMELY ROUGH AND FRIGHTENING FOR MY DAUGHTER AND I. THERE WAS NO EXPLANATION FOR IT. SINCE THEN, IT HAS HAPPENED SPORADICALLY, AT LEAST 5 MORE TIMES AT ANY GIVEN SPEED AND SAME CONDITIONS AS ABOVE. I HAVE SINCE TURNED OFF THE FEATURE (FORTUNATELY AN OPTION). IF SOMEONE HAD BEEN DRIVING BEHIND ME ANY OF THESE TIMES, THERE COULD HAVE EASILY BEEN A REAR END COLLISION. I'VE TAKEN IT IN TO BE CHECKED OUT TO NO AVAIL. THERE ARE NO CODES, THEY CAN'T DUPLICATE IT, SO "THERE'S NO ISSUE" ACCORDING TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT. I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE WITH 3768 MILES, SO I DON'T KNOW HOW MANY TIMES IT MAY HAVE OCCURRED BEFORE THEN AND I AM AT 4984. THESE INCIDENTS HAVE ALL OCCURRED IN A 1 MONTH SPAN.

WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE SUN SHINED INTO THE FRONT WINDSHIELD AND REFLECTED OFF THE CHROME FINISH ONTO THE FRONT CUP HOLDERS AND OBSCURED THE CONTACT'S VISION WHILE DRIVING. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25.
THE CAR WAS IN PARK & I WAS SITTING IN IT ON THE TOP OF MY DRIVEWAY. I WAS ABOUT TO OPEN THE DOOR WHEN IT STARTED TO ROLL BACKWARDS WHILE STILL IN PARK. IT STARTED TO PICK UP SPEED & DID NOT STOP UNTIL IT HIT A TREE. I WAS SO SHOCKED BY WHAT WAS HAPPENING & THE FACT THAT I LIVE ON THE RIVER EVEN THOUGH NEARLY 900 FEET AWAY ALL I COULD THINK OF WAS IT WAS GOING TO ROLL STRAIGHT IN THE RIVER. I JUMPED OUT OF THE CAR & SEVERELY INJURED MYSELF WITH A CONCUSSION , CRACKED RIBS & A BROKEN NOSE. THE CAR WAS IN PARK & STARTED TO ROLL WHILE STILL IN PARK. WHEN IT FINALLY CAME TO STOP BY HITTING A TREE IT WAS STILL IN PARK. MY MECHANIC BELIEVES IT IS A PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION. GENERAL MOTORS SENT SOMEONE OUT TWICE & AT THIS POINT WE ARE IN LIMBO. THE CAR IS NOT DRIVEABLE - IF WE HAVE IT REPAIRED MY INSURANCE DOES NOT FEEL IT IS A SAFE CAR TO DRIVE WITH OUT KNOWING THE REASON IT ROLLED BACK. GM HAS NOT BEEN HELPFUL OR VERY FORTHCOMING. I HAVE MANY PICTURES BUT WAS HAVING A PROBLEM UPLOADING THEM. IF YOU NEED TO SEE THEM I CAN MAIL THEM IF I STILL CAN NOT UPLOAD THEM.
AFTER DRIVING VEHICLE FOR APPROXIMATELY 10 - 30 MINUTES OR MORE THE VEHICLE EMITS A TOXIC TYPE OF ODOR/VAPOR THAT POLLUTING INSIDE OF THE CABIN. THE AIR QUALITY IN THE VEHICLE NEEDS TO BE CHECKED WHILE DRIVING. IF THE WEATHER IS COLD, THERE IS A DELAY. IT IS UNCLEAR IF THERE IS A SPECIFIC ENGINE COMPONENT THAT IS CREATING THE SICKENING VAPOR OR IF THE TOXICITY IS FROM THE CHEMICALS USED TO PREVENT CORROSION/MOLD ON THE ENGINE, INSIDE THE EVAPORATOR CASE, EVAPORATOR, HEATER CORE, BLOWERS, & THE AIR DUCT SYSTEM. OR THE CHEMICALS USED TO TREAT THE INTERIOR UPHOLSTERY. NONE THE LESS, THE COMBINATION OF THE CHEMICALS IS SICKENING WHILE TRAVELING INSIDE THE VEHICLE WITH OR WITHOUT THE AC OR HEAT ON. INITIALLY IT WAS BELIEVED THIS WAS AN ISOLATED SITUATION. IN THE PROCESS OF ATTEMPTED DIAGNOSIS; SEVERAL CHEVROLET VEHICLES HAVE BEEN RENTED AND THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM EXIST.
ENGINE LOST POWER IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING 60 MPH DOWN TO 20 MPH,COULD NOT ACCELERATE, FUSES WENT OFF, ACCORDING TO THE DEALERSHIP, YESTERDAY 01/25/2016 FROM A REGULAR OIL CHANGE MAINTAINCE ANOTHER MECHANIC SAID AXLE IS LEAKING AS WELL AS THE PAN LEAKING THEY NEED TO REPLACE SEALS. WEEK ONE BATTERY DIED, TWICE SAME WEEK, EVEN WIPERS CAME OFF.
EVERY WINTER WHEN THE TEMPERATURES DROP BELOW FREEZING (OFTEN IN NORTHERN WI) MY WIPER FLUID FREEZES DESPITE USING WIPER FLUID RATED FOR -25 TO -28 DEGREES. THIS EFFECTS BOTH FRONT AND BACK WASHER SPRAYERS. THE BACK IS NOT A PROBLEM; HOWEVER, THE FRONT FREEZE UP RESULTS IN DECREASED VISIBILITY FROM THE ROAD SALT AND DIRT WHEN DRIVING CAUSING FREQUENT STOPS TO MANUALLY POUR WASHER FLUID OUT OF A BOTTLE AND THEN USE WIPERS. OFTEN THIS WORKS ONLY FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME, DEPENDING UPON THE TRAFFIC, BEFORE HAVING TO REPEAT THE ABOVE PROCEDURE. PURCHASING A BRAND NEW VEHICLE I NEVER WOULD HAVE EXPECTED SUCH A PROBLEM. IT DOESN'T EVEN HELP WHEN THE VEHICLE IS RUNNING TO WARM UP FOR A HALF HOUR OR LONGER.
ON 11/28/2014 I WAS DRIVING SOUTH ON I-49 TO SHREVEPORT, LA DURING A LIGHT RAIN. DRIVING OUR 2015 EQUINOX LT AT 65 MPH IN CRUISE CONTROL AND ECO DRIVE WITH ABOUT 6,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. ON LEVEL GROUND WITH NO VEHICLES IN FRONT FOR MILES OUR FONTAL CRASH ALERT SYSTEM CAME ON WITH THE WARNING NOISE AND A STRONG APPLICATION OF THE BRAKING SYSTEM. IT FELT AS THE ENGINE QUIT AND WE COASTED A SHORT DISTANCE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROADWAY. I THOUGHT WE WERE STRANDED BUT UPON APPLICATION OF THE THROTTLE THE ENGINE RESPONDED. THE SPEED LIMIT IF 70 MPH AND USUALLY CARRIES MANY 18 WHEELERS. HAD THERE BEEN ONE BEHIND US A SERIOUS COLLISION MAY HAVE OCCURRED. ON DECEMBER 8 2014 WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO OUR LOCAL DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THEY PROVIDED ANOTHER CAR AND INSPECTED OURS FOR A DAY AND A HALF FINDING NO PROBLEMS. THE REPORTED EVEN A MECHANIC TAKING THE CAR TO HIS HOME THAT NIGHT WITH NO PROBLEMS. HE LIVES SOME DISTANCE FROM THE DEALER. AS WE PICKED UP OUR CAR THE SERVICE MANAGER WAS RUNNING SOME RECORDS INTO THEIR COMPUTER CONCERNING THEIR INSPECTION. WE ASKED FOR COPIES AND WAS ADVISED BY THE MANAGER THEY WOULD BE SENT TO US IN THE MAIL. AS OF MARCH 24, 2016 WE HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY RESPONSE FROM THE DEALER OR THAT MANAGER. UPON CHECKING THE GOVERNMENT FILES I NOW FIND OTHER CASES OF THIS SITUATION WITH THE FCA.
Vehicle stalled out at a stoplight, no warning lights or errors. Brought to dealership for service, where they found the cam shaft actuator solenoid control valve wasn’t working, and had to be replaced. Looking online, saw others having the same issue with this particular car (and a history of recall for the same issue on an older model) and so decided to submit a report. Obviously having a car stall in the middle of traffic is a safety risk. I am a relatively new driver, and fortunately had a friend in the car, otherwise I probably wouldn’t have known what to do, and my stalling might have presented a real hazard to others on the road.
The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated while driving approximately 10 MPH, the vehicle started to leak engine oil. The contact had the vehicle towed to the local mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the rear main seal was leaking due to positive pressure building up in the PCV system however, the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA to file a complaint. The failure mileage was approximately 92,000.
