WARNING SIGNAL BEEPS (ALARM) THEN SAYS POWER STEERING ON DASHBOARD. THE POWER STEERING GOES AND IT IS DIFFICULT TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. VERY DANGEROUS AS IT IS RANDOM AND HAS HAPPENED IN THE MIDDLE OF MAKING A TURN. READ MANY, MANY OWNERS OF THIS CAR'S COMPLAINTS YET NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE. *TR
FOR THE PAST COUPLE MONTHS THE POWER STEERING HAS LOCKED UP WHILE DRIVING IF I SHUT MY CAR OFF AND TURN IT BACK ON IT WILL GO BACK TO NORMAL, BUT NEVER KNOW WHEN IT WILL KICK OUT AGAIN, THE ELECTRIC IS CUTTING IN AND OUT, THE LOCK ON DRIVERS SIDE WONT WORK WHEN USING KEY WHICH HAPPENS PERIODICALLY ESPECIALLY WHEN IT RAINS, MY AUTOMATIC START STOPPED WORKING INCLUDING MY KEY-LESS ENTRY WILL NOT UNLOCK MY DOORS OR LOCK MY DOORS EVEN THOUGH I HAVE CHANGED THE BATTERY. I WORK FOR THE YOUTH SERVICE BUREAU/CHILDREN'S BUREAU OF STATE OF INDIANA AS A CASE MANAGER SO OFTEN I HAVE TO TRANSPORT CLIENTS TO DESTINATIONS, DOCTORS, FOOD PANTRY ETC. I CANNOT TAKE THE CHANCE OF BEING IN A WRECK WITH CLIENTS, WHICH HAS ALL MOST HAPPENED WHEN I TOOK A CURVE WHILE BY MYSELF LUCKILY. WHEN I CONTACTED THE CHEVY DEALER ABOUT RECALLS HE STATED THERE WAS ONLY AN IGNITION SWITCH RECALL, WHICH I BEG TO DIFFER I HAVE BEEN ON NUMEROUS WEBSITES WHERE MANY OTHER HHR OWNERS ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SAME THING I AM COMPLAINING ABOUT, I ASKED THE CHEVY DEALERS MAINTENANCE GUY IF I COULD GET A RENTAL WHILE WAITING FOR IT TO BE FIXED BECAUSE OF MY JOB, HE STATED THAT HE HAD TO ORDER THE PART AND THEN HE WOULD CALL ME WHEN IT ARRIVED FOR ME TO BRING MY CAR IN AND IT WOULD TAKE ONLY AN HOUR TO TWO HOURS TO FIX, SO WHILE WE ARE STILL WAITING NOW FOR TWO WEEKS I AM PUTTING MY CLIENTS AND THEIR CHILDREN IN JEOPARDY OVER AN ISSUE I AM NOT AT FAULT FOR, I PERSONALLY FEEL THAT CHEVY SHOULD COVER THE COST OF A RENTAL CAR UNTIL ALL ISSUE ARE TAKEN CARE OF PROPERLY. THIS WAS MY FIRST TIME OWNING A CHEVY, AND AFTER WHAT THE MAINTENANCE MAN SAID ABOUT NOT LETTING ME HAVE A RENTAL EVEN THOUGH I WORK FOR COUNTY AND STATE ORGANIZATIONS I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED IN CHEVY I AM IN THE PROCESS OF LOOKING FOR A NEW CAR AND NOT SURE IF I WILL PURCHASE ANOTHER CHEVY AFTER THIS!
ELECTRIC POWER STEERING FAILS COMPLETELY CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO BE VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER AND MAKING THE VEHICLE DANGEROUS TO OPERATE AT ALL SPEEDS .OCCURS INTERMITTENTLY AND UNPREDICTABLY. *TR
POWER STEERING FAILS DAILY, LOSE ALL POWER ASSIST. WHY ARE 2009-12 COVERED UNDER RECALL AND 2008 IS NOT? ALSO BRAKE ROTORS WARP TOO EASY. *TR
POWER STEERING FAILS CONSISTENTLY EVERY TIME CAR IS DRIVEN. FIRST STARTED AROUND 96,300 MILES AND HAS CONTINUED FOR THE NEXT 9000 MILES OR SO WITH LITTLE CHANGE IN FREQUENCY. CAR IS NOT SAFE FOR MY WIFE TO DRIVE. COULD COMPLETELY FAIL IN A CURVE OR IN A STEERING SITUATION AND CAUSE A SERIOUS OR FATAL ACCIDENT. *TR
AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, MY CHEVY HHR SUDDENLY LOST ITS POWER STEERING. THERE WAS A MESSAGE ON THE DASHBOARD THAT READ, "POWER STEERING," BUT OTHERWISE THERE WAS NO WARNING. I MANAGED TO GET HOME WITHOUT AN INCIDENT, BUT THIS IS A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS PROBLEM. THE POWER STEERING WAS FULLY FUNCTIONAL WHEN I TESTED IT LATER THAT SAME DAY. I READ IN THE USA TODAY THAT GM HAD ISSUED A RECALL FOR POWER STEERING FAILURE IN SEVERAL OF ITS VEHICLES INCLUDING THE HHR, BUT MY LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT UNDER RECALL AND THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR ANY REPAIR WORK. IT IS TOO DANGEROUS TO DRIVE WITHOUT GETTING IT FIXED, BUT I THINK THAT GM NEEDS TO STAND BY ITS PRODUCT. *JS
WHILE DRIVING THE POWER STEERING WILL SUDDENLY CUT OUT- THE POWER STEERING MESSAGE WILL APPEAR ON THE DASH MESSAGE BOARD. THIS OCCURS SEVERAL TIMES DURING A TRIP AT VARYING SPEEDS (65MPH, 55MPH, 45MPH). I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE EXTENT OF THE PERMANENT DAMAGE. SINCE THE FIRST OCCURRENCE, IT HAS BEEN A NEAR DAILY CONCERN. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET HHR. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE POWER STEERING WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER. THE FAILURE OCCURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VIN WAS EXCLUDED FROM NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V153000 (STEERING). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 105,000.
VEHICLE STEERING WHEEL BECAME EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO TURN--SIMILAR TO A VEHICLE HAVING LOST THE POWER STEERING FUNCTION. NO VEHICLE WARNING--FEELING, VIBRATION, OR SOUND--WAS APPARENT PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. THE CHEVROLET HHR, AS WELL AS OTHER CHEVROLET MODELS, HAVE BEEN ISSUED A POWER STEERING RECALL; HOWEVER, THE 2008 HHR MODEL YEAR IS NOT YET INCLUDED. CALLING THE PHONE NUMBER FROM THE GM WEBSITE, THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE COULD NOT CONFIRM GM WOULD BE ISSUING A RECALL FOR THE 2008 MODEL. *TR
DRIVING ON THE CITY ROAD WHEN HEARD A CHIME ON THE CAR AND THE CAR PULLED TO THE RIGHT I PARK THE VEHICLE AND NOTICE THE STEERING SING ON DISPLAY AND THE STEERING WHEEL GOT REAL HARD I TURN OFF THE CAR AND RE STARTED THE CAR AND WENT AWAY HAS HAPPEN TWICE SINCE THE FIRST TIME. *TR

THE CHEVY HHR'S POWER STEERING GOES OUT PERIODICALLY WITHOUT WARNING. IN THIS CASE, I WAS MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN ON TO A BUSY ROADWAY AND NEARLY STRUCK A VEHICLE AND/OR POSSIBLY PEDESTRIANS. I UNDERSTAND THAT CHEVY'S COBALT HAS BEEN RECALLED FOR THIS PROBLEM BUT NOT THE HHR, WHICH USES THE SAME EXACT PART. IT IS INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS AND ACCORDING TO MY INTERNET BASED RESEARCH, ALL TOO COMMON. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS AND FORCE GM TO STAND BY THEIR PRODUCT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED NUMEROUS TIMES AND WERE UNCERTAIN OF WHEN THE PARTS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR THE REPAIRS. THE CONTACT FELT THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAD EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE REPAIRS. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE.THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH THE POWER STEERING MESSAGE DISPLAYED ON THE SCREEN AND THE STEERING WHEEL SUDDENLY BECAME VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 127,124 .
AS I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY THE POWER STEERING ALARM CAME ON AND ABOUT A MINUTE AFTER THAT I LOST POWER STEERING. MY SON WAS WITH ME SO HE HELP ME STEER IT OFF THE ROAD. I TURNED IT OFF AND THEN TURNED IT BACK ON AND ABOUT 3 MINUTES THE ALARM CAME BACK ON. MY SON WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP. THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRICAL FUSE BOX WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,000.

I WAS APPROACHING A BUSINESS DRIVEWAY THAT REQUIRED ME TO MAKE A LEFT HAND TURN, SO I BRAKE (AT WHICH TIME THERE OCCURRED A HEAVY SIDE-TO-SIDE SHIMMY OF THE STEERING WHEEL, A "CLUNK" OR "POP" FROM THE AREA OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT OR FRONT SUSPENSION, AND A CHIME FROM THE DASH) AND BEGAN THE TURN INTO A DRIVEWAY ACROSS LANES OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THE STEERING BECAME EXTREMELY DIFFICULT MIDWAY THROUGH THE TURN, WHICH CAUSED ME TO DRIVE PARTIALLY THROUGH A DITCH RATHER THAN COMPLETING MY TURN SAFELY AND ENTERING THE DRIVEWAY FULLY ON THE PAVEMENT. I THEN HAD TO PARK, TURN THE KEY TO THE "OFF" POSITION AND RESTART IN ORDER TO REACTIVATE THE POWER STEERING. WE HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING THIS RANDOMLY FOR SEVERAL MONTHS AND HAVE EVEN ACQUIRED SOME MINOR BODY AND COSMETIC DAMAGE DUE TO HAVING LOST POWER STEERING IN A CURVE. WHEN I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP, THEY TOLD ME IT MIGHT BE FROM A FAULTY IGNITION SWITCH THAT IS NOW ON ORDER AND MAY TAKE QUITE AWHILE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. TODAY, I RAN AN INTERNET SEARCH AND FOUND HUNDREDS OF MENTIONS OF THIS SAME PROBLEM WITHIN MY YEAR MODEL, INCLUDING A NUMBER OF RECALLS THAT SEEM TO AFFECT THE ELECTRICAL POWER STEERING OF THIS MODEL AND OTHERS. HOWEVER, WHEN I AGAIN CALLED THE DEALERSHIP TO INQUIRE, THEY INFORMED ME THAT MY VIN IS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY OF THE STEERING RECALLS, AND THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY THEM OR SOMEONE ELSE TO MAKE THE REPAIRS AND ATTEMPT TO GET REIMBURSED IF IT EVER DOES BECOME INCLUDED. THE ADVISOR ALSO INSTRUCTED ME TO CALL 1-800-101-0220 TO COMPLAIN, WHICH ONLY GETS ME A RECORDING STATING THAT THE CALL CANNOT BE COMPLETED, WHICH SOUNDS AS IF IT HAS BEEN DISCONNECTED. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE NOT ONLY FOR THE DRIVERS AND PASSENGERS OF THESE CARS, BUT ALSO FOR OTHER DRIVERS AND POSSIBLY PEDESTRIANS WHO MIGHT FIND THEMSELVES IN HARM'S WAY WHEN THIS COMPLETELY RANDOM EVENT OCCURS. *TR

I HAVE A CHEVY 2008 HHR LT, AND I BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY POWER STEERING, A MESSAGE KEEP COMING ON WHEN IM DRIVING ON THE ROAD AT SPEED OF 25 MILES PER HOUR. MAKING IT HARD FOR ME TO DRIVE AND TURN, I CALLED CHEVY AND THEY TOLD ME THERE IS NO RECALL FOR THE 2008 HHR, BUT WHEN I CHECK ONLINE THEY HAVE THE 2006,2007,2009,2010,2011 HHR ON RECALL WHY DID THEY PASS MY CAR IM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE SUCCESSFULLY RESTARTED AND RESUME NORMAL FUNCTION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE DEALER VERIFIED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALLS. I RECEIVED YOUR RECALL ON 5/2/14. I CALLED THE DEALER & TOLD THEM THAT I CALLED THEM SEVERAL TIMES (I WAS GETTING TIRED OF CALLING THEM) I WAS GETTING TIRED OF USING THE FOB AND THE KEY BEING SEPARATED AND THEY TOLD ME THAT WHEN I GET THE REPLACEMENT KEY I WOULD CONTINUE TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. I BOUGHT THIS CAR NOT TO HAVE THE FOB & KEY SEPARATED. *TR

AS EXITING THE EXPRESSWAY LOST THE STEERING POWER IT WAS VERY HARD TO TURN SINCE I WASNT EXPECTING IT I ENDED AT THE SHOULDER AND A FLAT TIRE.THE CAR BEHIND ME REALIZED I HAD CAR PROBLEMS AND WAS ABLE TO REACT TO AVOID A CAR ACCIDENT. I HEARD OF A RECALL AND CONTACTED GM AT 1-800-222-1020. I WAS TOLD THEY WERE AWARE OF THIS SITUATION BUT ONLY DOING A RECALL OF 2009 AND FOWARD NOT 2008. I AM ALSO WAITING FOR TH EDEALERSHIP TO CONTACT ME REGARDING THE RECALL FOR THE IGNITION. *TR
POWER STEERING FAILURE. NOT COVERED UNDER RECALL AND GM REFUSES TO INCLUDE MY VEHICLE IN THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. BELOW EXCERPT FROM GM MEDIA CENTER ON 3/31/14 PRESS RELEASE: "IN ADDITION, 309,160 NON-TURBOCHARGED CHEVROLET HHRS FROM THE 2006-2008 MODEL YEARS (AND SEVERAL HUNDRED 2009 MODELS) AND 96,324 SATURN IONS FROM THE 2003 MODEL YEAR THAT ARE NOT SUBJECT TO THESE RECALLS WILL BE GIVEN LIFETIME WARRANTIES FOR REPLACEMENT OF THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING MOTOR." IN ADDITION TO BEING A SAFETY ISSUE IN A VEHICLE I TRANSPORT CHILDREN IT IS ALSO CAUSE ME BACK PAIN HAVING TO MUSCLE THE CAR INTO TURNS. *JS

WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE IGNITION SWITCH SEIZED AND THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF COMPLETELY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT NO REPAIRS WERE MADE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,000.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 89,551.

AT ANY GIVEN TIME I LOSE MY POWER STEERING. IF I TURN THE CAR OFF AND RESTART IT WORKS FOR AWHILE BUT THE PROBLEM RETURNS. I DID SEE WHERE THEY ISSUED A RECALL FOR 2009 AND LATER BUT DID NOT INCLUDE 2008 HOWEVER THEY DID SAY THAT THEY WOULD HONOR LIFETIME WARRANTY ON THE POWER STEERING MOTOR ON MY CAR BUT WHEN I TAKE THE CAR TO THE DEALER THEY SAY THIS VIN NUMBER IS NOT UNDER A RECALL WHEN I TELL THEM IT IS UNDER A LIFETIME WARRANTY THEY LOOK AT ME LIKE I HAVE TWO HEADS. CAN YOU SEND ME ANYTHING THAT I CAN GIVE TO THE DEALER SO THEY WILL FIX THIS PROBLEM. *TR
I HAD BEEN CALLING GM ABOUT THIS ISSUE, MY DAUGHTER LOVED THIS CAR IT WAS GIVEN TO HER FOR HER BIRTHDAY, OUT OF THE BLUE HER CAR LOST STEERING ON HIGHWAY, IT WAS EARLY AFTERNOON WHEN ALL WERE GETTING OFF FROM WORK WHILE TRYING TO GET OVER WITHOUT STEERING SHE HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE THE CAR WAS TOWED HOME AND HAS BEEN SITTING THERE WAITING ON GM TO GET THIS STEERING FIXED MY CHILD COULD HAVE LOST HER LIFE CALL ME [XXX]. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO IGNITION SWITCH RECALL NOTICE. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED PRIOR TO THE RECALL, HE WAS HAVING TROUBLE STARTING THE VEHICLE, AND THE KEY WOULD NOT GO ALL THE WAY IN THE IGNITION. THE CONSUMER IT HAS BEEN TWO MONTHS, SINCE HE RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE, AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE.

"POWER STEERING" MESSAGE APPEARED ON THE DASH BOARD AND THE POWER STEERING FUNCTIONALITY FAILED. ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT AS IT OCCURRED DURING A TIGHT TURN. AFTER CAR WAS RESTARTED THE PROBLEM RESOLVED TEMPORARILY, BUT RECURRED SHORTLY THEREAFTER AND CONTINUES TO RECUR WITH HIGH FREQUENCY. *TR
BACKING UP OUT OF DRIVE WAY, STEERING WAS HARD TO MOVE STEERING WHEEL. TOOK CAR TO DEALER WHICH IN ADDITION I HAVE THE RECALL FOR IGNITION RECALL THE DEALER STATES THEY HAVE RECALLS FOR THE STEERING BUT MY VIN NUMBER IS NOT A RECALL AT THIS TIME. SO WHY AM I HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS AS OTHER RECALLS AND I AM NOT ABLE TO GET THE REPAIRS UNDER THE GM COMPANY DEALER STATES I NEED A POWER STEERING WHICH IS ELECTRICAL AND A STEERING COLUMN. *TR
STARTED VEHICLE AND WAS EXITING PARKING LOT AT APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH. HEARD A CLICK, POWER STEERING WAS NOT AVAILABLE AND THE DIC SHOWED "POWER STEERING". DROVE THE CAR FOR A SHORT DISTANCE TO SEE IF IT WOULD CORRECT. SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE AND STARTED BACK AFTER A FEW MINUTES. POWER STEERING WAS WORKING NORMALLY. DROVE A FEW HUNDRED FEET, HEARD A CLICK AGAIN, POWER STEERING WENT OUT AGAIN AND DIC AGAIN DISPLAYED "POWER STEERING". WENT TO INTERNET TO SEE IF THERE WAS ANY INFORMATION ON THIS PROBLEM AND FOUND IT WAS A RECALL ON THE 2009-2011 MODEL HHRS. ONE AREA SPECIFIED THERE WERE SOME 2008S THAT WERE INVOLVED IN THE RECALL AS WELL. CONTACTED MY DEALER ON 05/27/2014 TO BRING IN THE CAR AND ASKED ABOUT THE RECALL, UNFORTUNATELY MY VEHICLE WAS NOT ONE OF THOSE BEING RECALLED. THE REPAIR COST WAS $280 TO REPLACE THE EPS MOTOR. IT APPEARS THERE ARE MORE 2008 MODEL CARS WITH THIS SAME PROBLEM AS WELL. I, TOO, AM WONDERING WHY THESE MODELS ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. *TR
I WAS TURNING LEFT ON THE CORNER OF MY HOUSE, DRIVING LESS THAN 15 MPH AND THEN THE BACK GLASS OF MY CAR EXPLODED WITHOUT REASON AND THE GLASS WAS DESTROYED IN PIECES. IT WAS VERY SCARY BECAUSE SOUNDED A BIG AN EXPLOSION

WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 65 MPH+, POWER STEERING MESSAGE SHOWS, DINGING NOISE SOUNDS, AND THE STEERING BECOMES DIFFICULT. ALL POWER STEERING IS LOST WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY, AND IT IS NOW 100X HARDER TO MOVE THE CAR TO THE NEXT LANE AND PULL OVER TO THE EMERGENCY LANE. HAS HAPPENED OVER 6 TIMES IN A WEEK'S TIMEFRAME. *TR

WHEN THE CONTACT SHUT OFF AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, IT OPERATED NORMALLY FOR A BRIEF PERIOD OF TIME BEFORE THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO REPLACED THE POWER STEERING MODULE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
WHILE DRIVING WITHOUT NOTICE, THE POWER STEERING STOPS WORKING AND AT THE SAME TIME, THE NOTICE THAT IT HAS POPS UP ON THE DASH. IN ORDER TO RESET IT, I HAVE TO STOP, TURN OFF THE CAR, AND THEN RESTART THE CAR. THIS SEEMS LIKE A BIG SAFETY CONCERN TO ME. I AM TOLD THAT IT IS A SENSOR THAT HAS FAILED. MY 16 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING. A CHIME SOUNDED, THE POWER STEERING QUIT WORKING AND THE DASH INFO CENTER SAID POWER STEERING. AFTER TURNING OFF AND RESTARTING THE CAR, THE POWER STEERING STARTED WORKING AGAIN. THIS WAS QUITE A SURPRISE TO A NEW DRIVER. LOCAL DEALER TO FIX WILL BE MORE THEN $600.00. THIS SHOULD BE RECALLED AFTER SEEING ALL THE SAME ISSUES ON THE INTERNET WITH OTHER HHR OWNERS. *TR
I WAS DRIVING AROUND A CURVE ON THE HIGHWAY, HEARD A CHIME AND MY POWER STEERING WENT OUT. THEN ACROSS THE DASH, POWER STEERING POPPED UP. I WAS IN AUSTIN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC AND COULD NOT PULL OVER. ONCE I WAS ABLE TO STOP AND TURN THE CAR OFF FOR SEVERAL MINUTES, I TURNED THE CAR BACK ON AND STEERING WAS FINE. GOT IN TO GO TO WORK THIS MORNING, HEARD THE CHIME AND NO POWER STEERING. VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER WITH NO POWER STEERING. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE RECALLED. *TR
