ABS SYSTEM IS FAULTY RIGHT SIDE KEEPS COMING UP WITH CODES "C1233 AND C11226" THIS HAPPENED WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE NOT APPLYING BREAKS.WE HAVE REPLACED THE HUB ASSEMBLY ON BOTH SIDES EVEN THOUGH THESE CODES ARE FOR THE RIGHT SIDE. STILL DIDN'T HELP.
"TAKATA RECALL" MY 2002 IMPALA IS OVERHEATING I DID A PRESSURE CHECK IT HELD PRESSURE CHANGED THE WATER PUMP AND THERMOSTAT ALSO THE FANS AND RADIATOR AND IT STILL IS OVERHEATING WHAT ELSE COULD IT BE WHEN I'M AT A RED LIGHT IT GETS TO THE MAXIMUM BUT WHEN I'M DRIVING IT STAYS AROUND NORMAL
SECURITY PASSLOCK NOT ALLOWING CAR TO START. FUEL REGULATOR FAULTY NOT GETTING FUEL TO START CAR. ONCE I GET VEHICLE STARTED I CAN CUT CAR OFF AND TRY TO RESTART, CAR WILL NOT START. ISSUE NEEDS TO BE RESLOVED.

I WAS STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN ON A DRY ROAD,WHEN I PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR THE CAR FELT LIKE THE ENGINE WAS GOING TO SHUT OFF AND IT WOULD BARELY MOVE. A FEW SECONDS LATER THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT AND ABS LIGHTS CAME ON. AFTER THE TRACTION CONTROL AND ABS LIGHTS CAME ON THE CAR WENT FINE.THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED. ALSO SOMETIMES WHEN YOU STEP ON THE BRAKE PEDAL IT FEELS LIKE THERE IS NO PRESSURE ON THE PEDAL. WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE TRACTION CONTROL AND ABS LIGHTS COME ON AGAIN. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES IN THE PAST 2 YEARS AND I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR TO SEVERAL DIFFERENT AUTO MECHANICS. I HAVE REPLACED BOTH FRONT WHEEL HUB ASSEMBLIES AT LEAST 4 TIMES IN 2 YEARS. EACH AUTO MECHANIC WILL TELL YOU A DIFFERENT DIAGNOSIS WHEN I TAKE IT TO THE SHOP. I HAVE CONTACTED GM ABOUT THIS PROBLEM ABOUT 10 TO 12 MONTHS AGO AND THEY SAY THEY ARE NOT AWARE OF ANY PROBLEMS WITH THIS MODEL OF CAR. I DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO TO RESOLVE THESE PROBLEMS WITH MY CAR. IT IS STARTING TO HAPPEN MORE OFTEN NOW, AND MY WIFE WILL NOT EVEN RIDE IN MY CAR ANYMORE BECAUSE SHE IS SCARED TO. I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO SEE AN INVESTIGATION STARTED INTO THIS MATTER. IF YOU GO TO SOME CHAT ROOMS ON THE WEB YOU WILL FIND MANY MANY PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS WITH THEIR IMPALAS. I WAS STANDING OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE, WATCHING THE GAUGES ON THE INSTAMENT CLUSTER GOING UP AND DOWN, LIKE THEY WERE LOOSING POWER, THEN BOTH AIR BAGS EXPLODED! ,SHATTERED THE WINDSHIELD AND DASHBOARD! I JUST CANT BELIEVE THAT HAPPENED IF I OR MY LOVED ONES HAD BEEN GOING DOWN THE ROAD!!! WELL I DONT WANT TO THINK ABOUT THAT BUT, THE PIONT IS THE SYSTEM FAILLED. AND IF I HAD HIT A WALL OR SOMETHING AND BEEN KILLED IT WOULD HAVE LOOKED LIKE THE AIR BAGS WORKED PROPERLY. THIS CAR WAS IN MY DRIVE IDELING , IN PARK NO ONE EVEN TOUCHING IT!

I HAD TO HAVE THE KEY LOCK CYLINDER REPLACED FOR THE SECOND TIME I TOOK IT IN ABOUT A MONTH AGO AND GM DONE THE RECALL WHICH WAS TO PUT A PLASTIC PLUG IN THE KEYS BUT DID NOT REPLACE THE LOCK AND AT THE TIME I TOLD THEM I NEEDED A NEW LOCK. I HAVE NOT TAKEN MY CAR OUT OF THE AREA BECAUSE OF WARNING LIGHTS COMING ON AND NOT STARTING PROBLEMS. I HAVE REPLACED THE BATTERY MANY TIMES AND GM REPLACED SENSORS A FEW TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH AND CYLINDER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 207,000.
THE SPRING ON THE DRIVER SEAT BROKE NOT VERY HEAVE PEAPLE DRIVING THE CAR. BODY OF THE CAR I HAVE 2 IMPALAS 2002 AND 2004 BOTH ARE RUSTING UNDER THE DOORS AND AT THE QUARTER PANELS I LOOK AT ALL IMPALAS AROUND THE AGE OF BOTH OF MINE AND 90% OF THE ARE RUSTING IN THE SAME SPOTS. MY CARS WERE RUSTPROOFED AND UNDERNEITH IT IS A MESS YOU CANT HARDLY GET A JACK UNDER BOTH OF THEM. I KEEP THEM GARAGE KEPT SINCE WE GOT BOTH OF THE I WILL NEVER OWN A IMPALA AGAIN.
MY DAUGHTER OWNED A 2002 CHEVY IMPALA. ON MONDAY 3/16/15, SHE WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AND THE ENGINE BEGAN TO SMOKE. SHE CALLED ME AND I ASKED WHAT COLOR THE SMOKE WAS. SHE SAID IT WAS BLACK SMOKE. I TOLD HER TO IMMEDIATELY GET HERSELF AND TWO SMALL CHILDREN OUT OF THE CAR. SHE AND HER SISTER REMOVED THE CHILDREN AND WALKED AWAY WHILE CALLING 911. A FEW SECONDS LATER, SHE HEARD A LOUD POP. THE WINDSHIELD BUSTED FROM THE APPARENT HEAT FROM THE FLAME THAT WERE RISING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. WITHIN SECONDS, THE ENGINE WAS IN FLAMES. I'VE RESEARCHED ONLINE, AND FOUND THAT THERE WERE TWO RECALLS IN 2007 AND 2009 STATING THAT THE ENGINE COULD IGNITE. THE CAR IS A TOTAL LOSS. SHE HAD FULL COVERAGE INSURANCE ON THE CAR, BUT IT'S BARELY ENOUGH TO REPLACE IT. IS THERE ANYTHING WE CAN DO ABOUT THIS? *TR
THIS PARTICULAR ISSUE OCCURS AT RANDOM TIMES AND CONDITIONS. AS I'M TRAVELING AT NIGHT AND I PULL BACK THE DIMMER SWITCH LEVER, THE HEADLIGHTS WILL GO OUT AND LEAVE ME TOTALLY IN THE DARK. THE ONLY WAY THAT I CAN GET THE HEADLIGHTS TO COME ON AGAIN IS TO CONTINUE TO MANIPULATE THE DIMMER/TURN SIGNAL LEVER UNTIL THE LIGHTS COME BACK ON. *TR
MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING THE CAR AND IT STALLED, SO SHE PULLED OVER TO TRY AND RESTART IT BUT IT WOULDN'T START. WE HAD IT TOWED TO A SHOP AND THEY THOUGHT IT WAS THE CRANK SHAFT CENSOR. WE DROVE FOR 3 DAYS AND THE SECURITY LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN AND THE CAR WOULDN'T START. SO WE HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED HOME. I'VE READ SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME PROBLEM WITH THIS MAKE AND MODEL. THE CAR IGNITION SUDDENLY SHUT OFF AND THE POWER STEERING AND BRAKES FAILED ON A STEEP GRADE. (THE IGNITION RECALL HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE, AND THE KEY FOB HAD BEEN REWORKED SO IT SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN A IGNITION ISSUE). THE TRANSMISSION WAS SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL AND THE CAR RESTARTED (WHILE STILL COASTING DOWN THE HILL) TO REGAIN CONTROL,THIS WAS REPEATED NUMEROUS TIMES UNTIL A SAFE PLACE TO PULL OFF WAS REACHED. THIS GRADE WAS EXTREMELY STEEP, THE ROAD HAD SWITCHBACKS , CLIFFS,AND NO GUARDRAIL, IT WAS A MIRACLE NO ONE WAS INJURED OR KILLED. THIS SAME VEHICLE HAD JUST HAD A DUPLICATE PROBLEM AND WAS REPAIRED AT THE DEALERSHIP IN JULY, LESS THAT 1000 MILES PRIOR TO THIS CURRENT EVENT. THE DEALER IN JULY REPLACED THE MAS SENSOR AND THE BATTERY AS THEY SAID THE MAS WAS CORRODED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THIS CURRENT EVENT WAS CAUSED BY THE MAP SENSOR AND THE MAIN COMPUTER ACCORDING TO THE DEALER. *TR

HIGH BEAM SWITCH HAS BEEN BROKEN, VERY COMMON PROBLEM WHEN GOOGLE SEARCHING. NO ONE FIXES IT AS IT IS PROHIBITIVELY EXPENSIVE. CANNOT USE HIGH BEAMS AND MANY PEOPLE ADJUST THE LOW BEAMS HIGHER AS A SOLUTION, WHICH IS BAD FOR EVERYONE. SHOULD BE A RECALL?

WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING AND WAS REAR ENDED BY THE VEHICLE IN THE REAR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER ON THE DASH PANEL ALSO FAILED AFTER THE RECALL REPAIR, WHICH PREVENTED HIM FROM SEEING IF ANY WARNING INDICATORS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE SECURITY PASSLOCK SYSTEM IS DEFECTIVE.THE SECURITY LIGHT COMES ON INTERMITTENTLY AFTER THE CAR IS STARTED. THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR IN JULY 2014, THE DEALER INDICATED A LOW BATTERY WAS THE ISSUE, REPLACED THE BATTERY WITH A NEW BATTERY(THE BATTERY REPLACED WAS A YEAR OR SO OLD).THIS DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. THE SECURITY LIGHT STILL COMES ON AND STALLS THE VEHICLE. IF THE LIGHT DISPLAYS AND THE CAR IGNITION IS TURNED OFF IT WILL NOT RESTART FOR 1/2 HOUR. *TR
